Name⌋ Desire Abella Lavali

Nickname⌋ Most people simply call her Dess

Age⌋ 17

Sexual Orientation⌋ Bisexual || Poly amorous

Gender⌋ Female

Hair⌋ White

Eyes⌋ Dark pink, though they turn a glowing red when she's using her powers

Height⌋ 5'4

Weight⌋ 111 lbs

Notable Markings
Snake eyes|| Desire has red eyes with slitted eyes 'tattooed' onto her palms. She was born with them and she assumes they are the source of her powers. If she runs her fingers over the slit with the intent of using her powers, they will cut open. This allows her to use her own blood without having to actually make an incision.
Clothes
Desire likes to wear simple, loose fitting clothes. She prefers comfort to style, though her clothes tend to look well put together all the same. Usually her outfits consist of a plain shirt and jacket over a long skirt with boots or sandals depending on the weather. During colder months she'll add more layers giving her a mori girl type of style.

ImageLikes
Sweet things|| Desire has a seemingly insatiable sweet tooth. There's no food too sweet for her!
Sparring|| Dess is very fond of her powers and will jump at any opportunity to practice using them and push her limits.
Music|| Though she isn't a musician or singer herself, Desire loves music and will gravitate towards it if she hears it, often without realizing it.
Flowers|| Desire's mother raised her on gardening and she has a special place in her heart for flowers and gardening as well as quite the green thumb.
Dislikes
Following Orders|| Desire is very independent and self-relient. She doesn't like being instructed on what to do and how to do things because she prefers acting on her own whims and figuring things out for herself.
Pathetic People|| Despite her fragile appearance, Desire is very capable of taking care of herself and she hates it when other people act pitiful and helpless, she sees it as laziness.
Being Lied to|| Dess is very good at reading people and telling if they are lying and she absolutely hates it when people lie to her face.
Personality
Independent || Obstinate || Kind || Sarcastic || Charming

Motherly || Quick-thinking || Calm under pressure || Flexible

Image
Power: Blood Manipulation
Control|| She uses the blood in a person to control their movements [not unlike blood bending in AtLA]
Weapon|| The one that she uses most commonly is using her own blood or that of someone around her as a weapon. When it's with her own blood, she'll run her fingers through the eyes on her palms and shape the blood into two daggers and fight with those. She can also make and shoot projectiles using the same procedure. If an enemy she is fighting against is bleeding, she can use their own blood against them in a similar way.
Clot|| Though she has never attempted it, theoretically Desire could kill someone by stopping the blood flow in their veins.

Desire gently glided her right index finger over the slitted pupil of the snake-eye marking on her left hand, then repeated the motion with her left index on her right. She could feel the warmth in her eyes as they shifted from pink to glowing red with the use of her powers and her own pupils turning to slits like the ones on her hands. A sliver of crimson blood slid out of the area that Dess had run her fingers over and she encouraged the flow and willed it into the shape of a pair of scissors, sharp as the sharpest blade. She took the tool in her hand and opened and closed them to test it before setting her eyes on the flowers before her.

The roses were in desperate need of deadheading and Desire was more than happy to comply. She hummed a soft tune as she carefully snipped off the dead flowers from the bush one at a time. When all of them had been taken care of, Desire sat back and admired her work with a smile. Her garden was doing exceptionally well this year, however she couldn’t help but worry about how it would get along without her when she left for the academy. Sure her mother had promised to take care of it, but Desire was still uneasy about leaving it behind.

The sound of the screen door opening and closing behind her took Desire’s thoughts away from her garden and she turned to see her mother walking out into the yard, wringing her hands and looking a bit anxious. Dess willed the blood scissors into liquid form once more and back through the slitted pupils of her tattoos. Her mother held out her hand to her and helped Desire off of the ground.

”The people are here to take you to the academy.” Mrs Lavali said, “they’re giving you a few minutes to get your things together and say your goodbyes.”

Desire nodded solemnly and dusted the dirt off of her skirt before turning towards the door and walking back into her home where she was greeted with the smell of freshly baked cookies and the odor of a strong foreign cologne that she guessed came from one or both of the men hovering around the doorway. She met the eyes of one and a cold chill ran down her spine that caused her to quickly look away. Desire busied herself with fussing over her bags, which she had packed earlier in the week, until her mother scurried in with her infant brother, Simon, cradled in her arms.

"I’ll see you soon, okay?"Dess promised, hugging her mother before leaning down and kissing Simon on the forehead. "I’ll write when I can. Stay safe, mom."

Her mother nodded with a sad smile and said her goodbyes and then Desire turned to the men and left with them.

The ride was long and silent and Desire jumped when one of the men broke the silence and finally spoke up, ”We’re here.”

She had been lounging with her back against the door of the SUV during the ride, but at the mention of their destination, she straightened and turned to peer out the window. She paled at the sight. "You’ve got to be kidding me. That’s not a school, that’s a prison!" Desire protested, but her words fell on deaf ears and the van turned into the drive and stopped at the entrance.

”Get out.”

Desire startled at the harshness in the man’s tone but was quick to oblige, even the prison would be preferable to the hours of unbreakable silence that she had just endured on the drive from her home in Florida. She went to the back of the car and pulled her things from the trunk and dragged them through the dust towards the building feeling somewhat like a lost puppy with no idea of what she was supposed to do or where she was supposed to go.

"Disappointing."

He looked through the CD collection with feigned interest before stacking them up neatly and returning them to her bed. As he did so, he sat down on her bed beside her and listened to her explanation. At first he felt like it could have been interesting, but that interest quickly dwindled down as she said that she had never tried anything drastic. It felt so... unfun. Like wasted potential. "I see..." He murmured, standing up and returning to his bed. He sat down with a soft grunt before putting a smile back on. "How fascinating!" His face lit up and his voice rose as though he were discovering something fantastic. "I'm sure you've made snowstorms to get out of class before. Or maybe made it sunny when rain would have cancelled something fun, right?" He laughs softly and waves a dismissive hand. Before awaiting an answer, he replies, "Of course you have. I certainly would."

Reaching into his bag, he pulls out an analog alarm clock. The numbers were in Roman Numerals and the whole thing looked like a miniature grandfather clock with an alarm up top. It even had the ticking pendulum and everything. He rests it beside his bed on the nightstand and begins fiddling with it in silence for a few moments. He finally finished after a couple minutes with a content sigh before returning his gaze to his roommate. "Sometime I'd love for you to show me your... gift, in action. I have an interest in these abilities. Especially ones belonging to pretty girls." He grins, standing up and moving over to the door. "For now, I think I am going to go find some food. But you do have a lovely day, Rayne. I will talk to you later tonight when I return."

As he left the room, he walked back over to the entrance. He wanted to ensure that he had the way memorized, and so he did. As he walked on by, his gaze happened to turn to the doors. Outside he happened to find another girl. One that, in his eyes, actually was something to look at. She looked upset and uncomfortable about there in the sand and dust. A smile spread across his lips as he exited the building and made his way towards the girl. He hesitated none to approach her and begin speaking. "Well, hello there. You seem to be a bit lost. New here, maybe? I remember when I first showed up... Lost, scared, confused. I had no idea how to get around this place or even what I was supposed to do." He played it off as if he were a veteran here and not another newbie. His eyes of gold locked onto her snake-like eyes that seemed to interest him. They were different, peculiar. Just her image alone grabbed his curiosity. "My name is Mihael McManus. And I would be honored if you would join me for some lunch. Afterwards I will show you around, help you figure out where things are... What do you say?"

Desire noticed a few other people around her, exiting their cars and entering the building and she supposed that entering the building would probably be a smart thing to do, perhaps there would be someone inside who could tell her where her room was and what the schedule was to be like. With her mind set on her next course of action, Dess grabbed her bags and nearly ran straight into the boy walking towards her.

He seemed not to have noticed their near-collision and took no time with starting up a conversation. Desire's eyebrows twitched in annoyance as she tried to look over his shoulder towards her destination. "Well, hello there. You seem to be a bit lost. New here, maybe? I remember when I first showed up... Lost, scared, confused. I had no idea how to get around this place or even what I was supposed to do." Desire quirked an eyebrow suspiciously at his words, but kept her mouth closed, waiting to see what he was getting at with such an introduction. "My name is Mihael McManus. And I would be honored if you would join me for some lunch. Afterwards I will show you around, help you figure out where things are... What do you say?"

Mikhael, as he introduced himself, locked eyes with her in a way that felt to Desire almost like a challenge. Despite the minor annoyance that she held against him for the superior tone in his voice and the way he blocked her path, she couldn't help but respect the way he didn't turn his eyes away like most when he saw her oddly colored eyes. Although Mihael's own eyes weren't exactly average either, they looked like molten gold and contrasted against his dark skin almost as much as his messy white hair did.

Desire thought over her options and finally decided that it would be easier on her if she just went with the man, he seemed to know what he was doing and he could probably answer some of the questions that she had. The white haired girl shrugged, "I suppose there'd be no harm in lunch. Lead the way."

Michael was lead through the front doors of the "School" with two of the three men that had brought him there carrying his ample suitcases. He let out a breath, softly as he looked around the entrance with great displeasure. Bland. The whole place was bland, hardly any decor and with little to show that people would be living there and learning. Michael did see a few others a dark haired girl was lead back to the rooms. Michael smiled warmly in her direction in hopes of at least establishing an aquaintance.

Restlessness took grip over Michael as the woman behind the desk went on about rules that Michael was sure not to follow. His honey gold eyes roamed anywhere but at her hoping to get a grasp on what the other students where to be like. His only experience at a school with others was at highschool. He assumed it would be similar the only major difference being they'd be dorm mates as well. Michael blushed slightly at the thought. Everyone knew the shenanigans that teens and young adults got into when not under strict supervision. He was reminded though of the reason they where all there as he brushed a small white downy feather from his sleeve. They all had powers there. His curiosity increased as he thought of the possibility of meeting others with very different and maybe even similar abilities as his own.

"Did you hear me, young man? Your room is 115A"

Michael blinked and nodded, then he leaned his elbow on the desk. "Am I going to have roomates? I don't do well with people who snore or have bad body odor. So.....if someone comes in and you think they might maybe have one of those..."

"The bedding arrangements are permanent, Mr. Haddock." The woman said, quite unimpressed.

Michael exhaled. "Right.....ooook. To Room 115A"

The two men looked at each other and put Michael's bags on the floor. "We've got other students to pick up."
With that they turned and walked back out the doors, one of them chuckling audibly and shaking his head.

"Great. Sure. Thanks....I DON'T BELIEVE YOU!" Michael called after them. He huffed, again and took up his backpack, putting it over his shoulders before gathering the two heavy suitcases in both slender arms. He grunted and trembled before heading down the hall muttering about the ridiculousness of it all.

It seemed the rooms where arranged like in a hotel with all the 100 rooms on the first floor of the dorm wing . Michael passed all the rooms that came before 115, struggling with his heavy bags as he went. "This better be good. So far this place seems little more than a glorified....prison..."

Michael stood before his room. He looked either way down the hall at the others just getting situated.

"Lovely. Hopefully this one should prove more interesting..."

Mihael would grin as she accepted his offer. "Oh, you make my day. Lunch in itself is fine, but food is always better in company." He turned around halfway, just enough to keep his eyes on her. "Especially lovely company such as yourself. If I may be so bold, you truly are a sight for sore eyes." His eyes left hers finally as he walked along the entrance hall for a moment. He had picked a random split opposite from the dorms to go looking for the cafeteria. Luckily his eyes caught glance of a map as they were leaving the hall that told him he was going the right way. Since he was not hesitating, it really seemed like he knew where he was going.

As they walked he snook another glance at her before speaking again. "You know, I don't believe you gave me your name. I must not have asked. How horribly rude of me." He actually did not care much that he forgot. "Could you possibly give me the honor? I'm almost literally dying to know." He tried to keep his smile friendly and his gaze the same. He would get around to asking the important questions over lunch. For now, he would just make small talk, try to make her feel comfortable with him. Her eyes gave him the impression that she was something unique amongst these uniques, something to look out for. Of course, he highly doubted she was on the level he and his brother were. No, that was nigh impossible. But still, that feeling was there. If there were others like her here, perhaps this "punishment" he was forced to endure by being in this "school" would not be so bad.

They would make their way to the cafeteria area where food was just beginning to get served. Like school and prison food seemed to, this barely looked edible. Barely looked like food at all. But it still looked more appetizing than what he was forced to eat while he and his brother were in custody. Once they got their food, if it could be called that, he sat down at a table a bit of a way's off from the other students who were beginning to file in. "I'd absolutely love to pick that mind of yours, if you would be so kind to indulge me. You interest me, with those eyes of yours. Of course, I understand if you're not willing to talk. Seems to be the case with a lot of people here." He spoke matter-of-factly, as if he had actually spoken with enough people to make that assumption. His tone, gaze, and smile all seemed more calm and content than they had the entire time at this point, though.

Desire sighed and kept pace beside Mihael as he lead her to the cafeteria, her eyes staring straight ahead and her fingers fiddling with the handles of her suitcases as she dragged them along beside her. While somewhat flattered by the way he was talking to her, Desire was quickly finding herself tiring of Mihael's never ending stream of compliments. But, not knowing what to say to shut him up and not wanting to be rude, she allowed him to continue and just stayed silent during their walk to the cafeteria.

"You know, I don't believe you gave me your name. I must not have asked. How horribly rude of me. Could you possibly give me the honor? I'm almost literally dying to know."

She raised an eyebrow at the last part, "Almost literally? Now we can't have that, can we?" Desire assented sarcastically, looking up at Mihael. With another sigh she gave in to his request. "My name is Desire Lavali, though most people just call me Dess."

The hallway that the two were walking through opened up into a large, nearly empty cafeteria and Desire followed Mihael to the area where the food was served. She wrinkled her nose at the smell and was quite taken aback by the food itself when she saw it. Being homeschooled for her entire life, Desire didn't even have the experience with school food to prepare her for such slop as they were passing off for food. She was about to refuse when a growling in her stomach reminded her that she hadn't eaten since she left home hours ago. Hesitantly, Desire took the tray offered to her and walked with Mihael to a table that he had chosen some ways away from any other students in the place.

She uncapped the bottle of water that had come with the meal and sipped it as Mihael spoke. "I'd absolutely love to pick that mind of yours, if you would be so kind to indulge me. You interest me, with those eyes of yours. Of course, I understand if you're not willing to talk. Seems to be the case with a lot of people here."

Desire put down the water bottle and picked up the fork that she was provided with, but when she looked at the food her appetite vanished and she put it back down before turning her eyes back up at Mihael. "I guess it couldn't hurt. What do you want to know?"

Rayne watched as he got up and left, as she shut the door, she felt static prickle her skin in the air. It was strong electricity it just felt like tingling, all over her skin, and whomever else was in the room of course. Well, that was peculiar she thought to herself, wondering if he was serious or just one of those boys that always acted like that. She had known plenty in her lifetime.. until of course her powers messed it up.
No one wanted a 'freak'. She sat until her stomach grumbled, and decided it was almost lunch time and made her way to the cafeteria, glancing at each 'Do Not Enter' sign. She came to the area marked 'Mess Hall', and opened the door. It was a simple, metal chairs, -bad if she got upset of scared- dim lighting, there were a few 'security agents' lingering along the wall. She rested her eyes on the food line, and stood in line. Once she came to the front the man sloshed some disgusting slop into her bowl, and she grabbed a soda at the edge of the counter. She threw away the bowl before sitting down in the back of the cafeteria to observe everything, and everyone.
She sat with her back against to wall, so no one could come up behind her, and startle her. She sighed and opened the soda taking a small drink, her eyes rested on Miheal, he was sitting with another girl, Figures, she thought. She had a feeling he would have been messing with her, not really into her. It was okay though, it didn't matter. She moved her eyes to see the girl sitting with him, she studied her quickly Her eyes were... pinkish? was she seeing that right? Weird. She took another sip, and slipped on her headphones.

"Desire. What a fitting name."

"Desire is a rather appropriate name." He would think to himself after she shared her name. Rather than speaking that aloud, he would simply largen his smile by a smidgen and return, "Well, that is quite a name. It's nice to meet you, Dess. It seems that a lot of students here have unique names." Mihael would take to the slop rather easily, though he was absolutely disgusted by the texture of the meal. It felt absolutely disgusting going down. With a laugh, he shrugs at the food. "Just like good ol' high school." He sticks his plastic fork into the slop, which seems to stand up fine in the food. That in itself sickened him. He felt above this. Like he deserved banquets in his honor rather than slop in a prison-school. At least having some decent-looking company made it tolerable.

Mihael would rest his head in his hand and look straight into her eyes, that same piercing gaze he had given Rayne earlier. As if he was looking through her. "I'm rather interested in learning a bit about you. Where you're from, maybe? What you like to do in your spare time. Maybe some favorite musicians, small talk, really.." Though after he stopped speaking, he stopped looking through her and looked directly at her. Right into her strange eyes. "But most of all, I'm fascinated by the people here. What they are capable of... I'd love to know why you're here. In this... place. I've met a girl who can control the weather. How peculiar is that, hm?" His gaze lowered from her as he smiled softly, lifting up his fork and waving it, eventually resting to point at nowhere in particular until his eyes returned to hers. "This place is really quite fascinating. You'll learn more as you stay, I'm sure..."

Desire watched with mild disgust as Mihael ate the putrid food with relative ease. He laughed, "Just like good ol' high school."

She curled her lip in a grimace, "if this is what school food is like then I'm glad I was homeschooled." Desire admitted, sending a solemn look down at her meal. "I'm not sure how I'm going to survive if this is all they'll be serving. This doesn't even look like real food." She picked up the fork and shifted the 'food' around on her plate. It had already gone cold and the consistency reminded Dess of old sponges.

Mihael took his attention away from the food and looked up at her in a way that made Desire feel somewhat vulnerable, as though he was looking through her, and she shifted in her seat to try and rid herself of the feeling. "I'm rather interested in learning a bit about you. Where you're from, maybe? What you like to do in your spare time. Maybe some favorite musicians, small talk, really.. But most of all, I'm fascinated by the people here. What they are capable of... I'd love to know why you're here. In this... place. I've met a girl who can control the weather. How peculiar is that, hm?This place is really quite fascinating. You'll learn more as you stay, I'm sure..."

Mihael's words surprised her, though she didn't quite know why. Desire had known that there would be other people with powers at the school, but she hadn't really dwelt on it that much. A girl who could control the weather? Amazing. She found herself looking at Mihael and the others in the room differently all of a sudden. There was a pair sitting not too far away by the only window in the room, what could they do? She turned her gaze back to Mihael's striking gold eyes, what could he do?

"I'm sure this place is fascinating, what with all of the people with..abilities here. What exactly is it that you do?"

"I asked first."

Mihael would appear rather upset that she did not answer his questions. Of course though, he would shrug it off and sit further back in the chair like he was relaxing. Grinning at her, he would reply, "I earned a reputation back at home. They called me 'Father Time.' Can you believe that? I'm eighteen years old... Far too young to be any kind of father." He joked to try and ease the atmosphere for her. He would look to her, then to the lunch lady slapping slop onto people's trays. "Just watch the woman there." He would point a lazy finger at her, flicking his wrist upwards slightly. On his command, she would get to slapping slop more quickly. The students could barely keep up with her, causing a bit of a mess in the line. Keeping his grin, he'd flick his wrist downwards, only to watch her seem to be in slow motion. Students would begin groaning and getting upset, urging her to go faster. She would not be able to comprehend that she was even moving so slow. Everything around her, in her vision, was just going faster. As an act of kindness, and mostly to just show off, he would move his index finger in a circular formation to his left. The woman's body would seem to age in reverse, taking away from her larger figure and reverting her to a younger, more attractive version of herself. A girl she once was, years ago.

Being done playing, he would turn to his lunch companion and grin. "The flow of time is at my command. Pretty cool, isn't it?" He would pick his fork back up and eat another piece of disgusting slop. "I've shown you what I can do. I would very much like it if you would tell me what you are capable of, though. I like learning about those around me. What they can do. I'm a very curious friend indeed."

Desire smiled a bit as Mihael attempted to lighten the mood by making a joke about people calling him 'Father Time' back where he was from. She couldn't help but feel relieved that he wasn't laying on the flattery as much as before and she found herself slowly warming up to him. She watched as he pointed to the old cafeteria lady and with a flick of his wrist sent her dishing out slop at an alarming rate, another flick and she was working at a snails pace. The groans of the students were audible even from the distance they were sitting and Dess couldn't help but laugh. Then, when Desire didn't think there was anything more that he could do, Mihael wound his index finger counter-clockwise and she watched as years shed from the woman leaving her looking young and youthful, not much older than most of the students.

Desire turned back to Mihael with her eyes wide to see that he was grinning at her. "The flow of time is at my command. Pretty cool, isn't it?"

"I.. wow, yeah. That was amazing." She admitted, feeling at a loss for words.

He shoveled another scoop of 'food' into his mouth and continued: "I've shown you what I can do. I would very much like it if you would tell me what you are capable of, though. I like learning about those around me. What they can do. I'm a very curious friend indeed."

Friend. Was that what they were? They had only known each other for a few minutes, but she supposed there was nobody else who was better qualified at the moment considering he was the only person that Dess had the chance to meet so far. She shrugged modestly, "I can control blood." Desire stated casually. She had known about her powers for almost her whole life and had plenty of time to learn to control them. At home, her and her mother talked about it as though it was any other topic so the words came easily to her.

"Do you see these?" Dess held up her hands and displayed the red and black snake eye markings on her palms. "I was born with these. When I run my fingers across the irises, they open up." She demonstrated on her right hand and a trickle of blood ran from the slit. Desire's eyes went from pink to glowing red and her pupils thinned to slits. With a thought, the trickle became a flow and the blood shaped itself into the shape of a dagger that she brought down hard on the tray, splitting it right in half. A few students turned and looked, but the only worker -the cafeteria lady- was still too busy admiring herself to yell at Dess. She opened up her hand and willed the blood to return to her body and then sent a small smile towards Mihael. "I can bend it to my will. Not just my own blood, but others', too." She pointed back towards the cafeteria lady and then concentrated on the flow of her blood. When she made the connection, she brought her hand up in a swift motion and the cafeteria lady's arm jerked up as if on its own accord and slapped herself in the face.

"...I like her."

Mihael watched in fascination as she played around with her blood. Here was something truly fascinating, something he had never seen or heard of before. Something unique. But how powerful could it have been? When she willed the blood back to her body, the smile that followed sparked his interest. There was more to show. His eyes lit up just a little bit as he followed her guiding finger back to the cafeteria lady. It was a moment before it happened, but the lady's arm jerked up and smacked herself in the face. "Did you-- Was that-- Bahahaha!" He erupts in loud laughter, clutching onto his stomach and trying not to fall off of his chair with the force of his own amused laughter. Clutching onto the table, he throws his elbows onto the table to properly hold his head up as he calmed down. It took some time, but it eventually happened.

He settled down and fussed with his hair, getting it closer to where it was before his little fit. "You are an absolute spectacle. Able to control another person through their blood... That. That is seriously impressive. I like that." Perhaps she was someone who could come to equal standing with him and his brother. One who controls time, one who controls the force of gravity... one who controls the flesh. This was someone his brother would want to hear about. Looking back to the cafeteria lady, he would point at her again and turn his finger clockwise, restoring her to her proper age... if not one or two years older. Watching her face turn from delight to confusion to sorrow made him grin. It was a grin whose real intentions could not be discerned. "Oh dear, I'm probably smothering you, aren't I? I'm sorry. I lose my head around pretty girls. And I am a fan of interesting powers. I don't want to make you uncomfortable..."

His eyes would turn to hers and his grin would become more pleasant. "If you wouldn't mind, I would like for you to meet my twin brother. He can be a bit... cold and maybe come off as rude sometimes. But I feel like you are someone he would like to meet. Of course, all in time. I still have to show you to the dorm areas as well." Taking another glance at his food, he sighs and pushes the tray to the side. He was done with that filth. "But I do hope that after this you may want to meet again. You interest me, and I hope that I interest you a little bit. I think we have the capacity to become great friends."

Desire watched in amusement as Mihael went absolutely beside himself with laughter at her show of power over the cafeteria lady and she couldn't help but laugh as well. The two probably looked hysterical to anyone else in the room, but neither of them seemed to care. Slowly the laughter died and Dess regained her composure, brushing some of her hair behind her ear and attempting to straighten herself out as Mihael did the same.

"You are an absolute spectacle. Able to control another person through their blood... That. That is seriously impressive. I like that." Mihael complimented, and Desire could see that he meant it- it was possibly one of the first sincere things he had said to her since they met.

"I wasn't looking for your approval, but I'm glad you like it." She responded, smiling despite her words. In fact, she was actually quite proud that Mihael found her abilities to be respectable and she looked down at her marked hands as though they were a gift.

Dess glanced back up from her hands in time to see her white haired companion turn the time forward again on the poor cafeteria lady-turned guinea pig. There was a smile on Mihael's face that appeared somewhat cruel to Desire and she was surprised to find that she didn't really care. She felt a pang of guilt and a flash of anger towards Mihael at the sight of the woman's heartbroken expression but it faded alarmingly quick. Though her friend's voice kept her from dwelling on the thought.

"Oh dear, I'm probably smothering you, aren't I? I'm sorry. I lose my head around pretty girls. And I am a fan of interesting powers. I don't want to make you uncomfortable..."

Desire laughed and waved a hand dismissively at his words. "Smothering's a good word to describe it. You were laying it on rather thick." She accepted the compliment gracefully and shrugged, "compliments are fine in moderation, but I would appreciate it if you'd turn it down a notch, thank you." She gave him and genuine smile and took another drink out of her water bottle.

"If you wouldn't mind, I would like for you to meet my twin brother. He can be a bit... cold and maybe come off as rude sometimes. But I feel like you are someone he would like to meet. Of course, all in time. I still have to show you to the dorm areas as well."

Desire sputtered and nearly choked on her water. "There's two of you?" She asked in shock, though she quickly attempted to regain her composure and laughed at her own reaction. "Sorry. I just- that's cool that you have a twin, it would be great to meet him. After I take my things to my room of course." Dess looked down at her bags and then back to Mihael. "Speaking of which, do you want to go? I think I'm done." She waited for his response and then shoved the half-full bottle of water into a pocket of her suitcase and stood. She'd let someone else take care of the mess of her broken tray.

She sat at her desk, black hair over her shoulders, a phone to her ear,
"Yes. The little bastards are all here. We have the gate locked, of course, and all security measures have been put into place."
She spoke to someone on the other line, brown eyes staring at the records of all the children currently on the phone.
"Yes sir. All have been documented, and more are due to arrive tomorrow and the next. Yes sir. Goodbye sir."
She hung up the phone and stood, walking out the door into the hallway, he pointy black heels making a loud Click...Click...Click...
She wore a black pencil skirt and a white blouse, with a dark blood-red vest. She glared as she walked down, she hated wretched snot-nosed little brats. Their whining and partying, their sneaking out and graffiti... Everything about them was absolutely disgusting. She walked into the cafeteria, glaring at every student that looked her way. She made it to the center, and stood there, observing everyone. Looking through the sea of faces.

"I'll go wherever you want, doll."

She was beautiful, powerful, and he was beginning to figure out how she works. How to properly speak to her, to learn her patterns and what she prefers. At this point, he wasn't sure if he wanted to use that knowledge to make a pawn, though. Maybe a partner, someone to work with him... Oh, and his brother. That, too. That was certainly exactly where his thoughts were. He was looking forward to learning more about this girl. About what she was capable of. She had an ability that was worth respecting, one that was possibly on par with the McManus twins'. He would smile in earnest back at her before leaving his tray and standing up. "Yeah, there are two of us. Though we look the same, trust me, our behaviors are a bit different. I feel like he would find you interesting enough to be civil at the very least..."

Once he rose, he lifted his arms up above his head in a stretch and let out a soft groan as he did so. Making his way over to her suitcase, he would pick it up himself and begin walking with the assumption that she was following. He would turn his head and smile at her as he walked, pointing down the hallway as he would mention to follow him there. Of course though, someone would come through and block his way. She was dressed sharp, like she was in control of the area. The look in her eyes was one of disgust and malice. The look on her face... was a challenge. His expression became smug as he set down the suitcase and approached the woman, holding a hand up to Desire to have her stay.

"Well, well, look who showed up. You seem like a bigwig. In charge here?" His eyes were filled with an emotion that could only be deemed as playful, testing. "Thanks for showing up! My name is Mihael McManus. And I really want to thank you for inviting me to this beautiful establishment of yours." His words dripped painfully with sarcasm. If sarcasm were daggers, there would be half a dozen right in her. "But tell me... What would make you make the mistake of showing your face? Don't you know that many of the students here hate this place? How many of them probably hate you personally?" He made a few "tsk" sounds with his tongue, raising his arms and lowering his head with a smirk, shaking that smirking head of his. "Seems a little unwise... Not that I would do anything. No, I'm not so bold."

Yet.

Mihael affirmed that there was, in fact, two of them and explained that while they looked identical, their personalities were a bit different. The way Mihael worded the part about his brother being 'civil at the very least' worried Desire a bit, but she figured that if she could deal with Mihael's constant flirting and bloated ego then a rude brother shouldn't be too much of a problem.

He rose and stretched and then, when Desire reached over to grab her suitcase, he picked it up instead. She opened her mouth to protest but his back was to her and he had already begun walking away so she slung her duffel bag over her shoulder and followed. He turned his head at one point and smiled to her, motioning towards the hallway that they would be going to. That was when Dess looked down and saw that her boot was untied.

As she leaned down to fix the problem, she heard Mihael's voice and looked to him but saw that he wasn't talking to her. There was a woman standing in the way of the hallway and Mihael seemed to be taunting her for being the headmistress. Desire slowly stood back up and walked to Mihael's side. The woman looked undaunted by Mihael's venomous sarcasm and subtle threats. Dess couldn't help but respect the woman's courage, though it could also be foolishness. Surely the headmistress knew what Mihael McManus was capable of? She crossed her arms over her chest, an amused smile coming to her lips, this situation had the potential to become very interesting and Desire had a front row seat.

"Behold, everyone! This is Headmistress Aggie. A real beauty, right? It is by her power that we are chained here, shackled to this building she calls a 'school.' She is the warden of our prison. And what have any of you done wrong? Why do you deserve imprisonment?! She is one... But we, we are many. We don't need to be prisoners. No, we could become the wardens. We could become the best we can be without false lies of 'school' and mastery. You all know this is a prison. SO rise up! Be the masters of your own fate!"

Desire raised her eyebrows at Mihael's call to arms. Wasn't it a bit early in the school year for a fight to break out? Not that it mattered, if it came to a fight Desire was ready and eager. She hadn't had any chances to use her powers in an actual fight other than the time that her and her mother got mugged a few years ago and she was eager to test what she could do. However, a scan of the room showed that no one else seemed to be interested in Mihael's little speech. Some even yelled for him to leave the woman alone.

Dess nudged Mihael's arm with her elbow and gave him a small, reassuring smile. "If it comes to a fight, I'm on your side." She said, "though perhaps we should wait until the odds are more in our favor." She sent a look towards the agitated students, and then towards the guards who were beginning to enter the cafeteria in response to the commotion.

"Fools. Each and every one of them..."

Several people would speak out against Mihael, claim that this place was there to help them. That people like him were the cause of everyone being here in the first place. It was a bit annoying to him to say the least, but not completely unexpected. It would take longer than he thought it would to get the others on his side. One speech simply would not do the trick. They would have to endure the harships and imprisonment here to understand it for themselves. But then they would come to him. Ask for his guidance... and maybe then he would consider it. One way or another, he would be running this place with Caelan. Maybe it wouldn't be today, but it would happen... With a sigh, he would nod once in response to everyone else. "Very well. But let it be known that if you are not with me, then you are against me. And you are with... Agatha here. Stop and think to yourselves about who is more trustworthy. Someone like you, someone who can control their ability... or her. Someone looking to control and abuse you. Adults always tell you that the world is your oyster, ripe for the picking. Don't let yourself be the ones getting picked. Seek me out if you change your minds."

This little failure of an uprising would bring two important things to mind, though. The first was that the students here were weak. Afraid. Filled with false hope of mastery. It would take time for them to come around. Not that he needed them, but there was safety in numbers. And the second was that Desire, the blood manipulator, was on his side. She had offered her loyalty to him with a nudge of the arm. This in itself was enough of a victory to him. Her power was great. And she was certainly something to look at. There was no problem there at all.

Mihael would nod at Desire with a soft smile and begin leaving the cafeteria. "Come on, then. I'll show you to the dormitories." Regardless of whether or not she followed, he had calmed down and walked right past the guards who were entering. They seemed unresponsive, unaware that anyone was moving past them. They were stoic, sturdy... almost in a stasis. Mihael's grin was a triumphant one as he left the cafeteria and made his way down the hall. With a snap of his fingers, the Headmistress and guards would be brought back into the stream of time, no longer affected by the boy's great power. "What a hell of a first day..." He would think to himself.

Mihael seemed to take Desire's warning to heart and decided to stand down, but not before reprimanding the rest of the students for their ignorance. Though she felt a twinge of disappointed at not having a chance to use her powers yet, she knew that it was for the best. They were sorely out numbered and even with the great amount of power she and Mihael had, especially when used together, she wasn't sure that the outcome would be in their favor.

"Come on, then. I'll show you to the dormitories." Mihael said, his voice gentler than the one that he used to address the rest of the students. Desire looked up at him and responded to his smile with one of her own paired with a small nod. As he walked forward and passed by the headmistress and the guards without hesitation, Desire made sure to keep pace and not show the twinge of fear that she felt in the pit of her stomach when she looked at them.

When they were walking freely down the hallway, she stuffed her hands in the pockets of her jacket and smiled up at Mihael. "I'm trying to figure out if you were being brave or reckless." She mused with a chuckle, "though I have to say, I admire your courage."

They reached the hallway to the dormitories and she saw a list with the names of students and their room numbers on it. "114 A." Dess read aloud, her eyes widening when she saw who her roommate was. "I didn't realize these were co-ed dorms. This should be.. interesting." She searched the list and found Mihael's name, "You're only four doors down, so that's nice, and it looks like your brother is in the room next to mine."

Desire adjusted the strap of her duffel bag on her shoulder and followed the line of doors until she found 114A and then opened the door. She let out a sigh of relief when she saw that her roommate was absent. In fact, it looked like he hadn't even arrived yet. She motioned for Mihael to follow her inside and then closed the door behind him and set about unpacking her sheets and blankets and making her bed. When she finished with that, she quickly unpacked her things into a dresser beside her bed. After all that was done, she tucked her duffel bag and suitcase under the bed and then looked towards Mihael. "Do you want to see if your brother is in his room?"

"Alone in a bedroom with a pretty girl... If only I weren't such a gentleman."

Mihael had let her seek out her own room and promptly followed her inside. As any teenage boy might be in such a situation, his head shot straight to the gutters for a minute at the thought of being alone in a room with her. But he was a gentleman. Tame. He had the self-control to not say anything or act on any of those... thoughts. However pleasant his mind would make the images. He would jump onto the opposite bed of her like it was his own and lay there as she got to work. "I was being neither brave nor reckless there, doll. I just like to make things interesting. And I don't very much like being told what to do, especially by people like her who aren't even subtle about it. This place will be mine someday. Just you wait and watch." He didn't bother to care that he was sharing that with her. She had already given that she was with him. "My brother and I will, that is. To be honest, I'm not at my fullest without him there to back me up. That should give you an idea of what he's capable of." His grin was proud, happy to brag in his brother's place.

When she had asked about his brother, he would shrug. Being alone with a pretty girl to look at was his preferred thing to do, but she did have to meet Caelan at some point if she were to work with them on this coup d'etat. "Very well. I'm sure Caelan will be happy to meet you. But he's not quite as... pleasant as I can be, I suppose. So I apologize in advance for any comments he makes." He rolled off the bed, quickly springing onto his feet before getting to the door. Opening it for her, he would follow her out and look for the room his brother was staying in. As she said, it was right next door. Not bothering to be quet about it, he knocked five times on the door before calling out, "Hey, brother! Let me in. I've got a progress report. And a very valuable new friend." He would turn his head to Desire and smile with closed eyes. "Oh, and make sure that you're wearing pants! It's a lady."
