Height: 5'3
Weight: 120 pounds

Complexion and Build: White, slender and defined proportions.

Hair: She has wavy hip length auburn red hair that falls over her shoulders and short bangs that cover her forehead and end at the very top of her eyebrows. She either has it down or up in a ponytail wrapped in a black ribbon.
Clothes: She has two standard outfits. The first includes black ankle high black boots with thigh high red socks, a tight mini long sleeve white dress that ends in the middle of her thighs, a black jacket with a cartoon like picture of snowy clouds in the back. The second is the same boots with sheer black stockings, black shorts with a white belt, A white long sleeve button up shirt with a red tie around her neck, an over sized light brown jacket that loosely hangs over her shoulder with a belt tied around the arms to hold it up.

Image

Accessories: She has a long and thin black chain necklace with a silver locket. The outside of the locket is a soft silver white with an abstract design on it in the lightest blue, it almost looked like clouds raining snowflakes. The inside has a charm carved onto the metal in the shape of a single snowflake. The snowflake has tiny diamonds and sapphires in intricate combinations throughout the spaces in the design giving it a glittering almost 3D effect. She has two small silver cross earrings and a silver ring with another sapphire in the shape of a water drop on her right middle finger.

Likes: She likes animals especially birds and cats. She loves gems and antique objects or jewelry. She enjoys playing games like scavenger hunt or playing pranks. She is addicted to sweets especially white chocolate and caramel.

Dislikes: She is afraid of fire, butterflies and loosing control of her powers or her mind. She hates it when people look down on her or see her as weak because of her size or doll like appearance. She hates, really hates, being called short.

Personality: She can be stubborn when she feels passionate about something. She is slightly sarcastic at times but tends to turn awkwardly shy or bashful around guys if they get too close to her. She can be a slight airhead and very oblivious to things like feelings or her surroundings, her self awareness is lacking. She is a prideful firecracker with a short temper who is very impulsive and not afraid to make a stand if she is being treated unfairly, feels threatened or feels like she can prove herself.

Powers: Kat can manipulate the temperature of the moisture in the air or her immediate surroundings either crystallizing it into ice or boiling it into steam. Her naturally steel grey eyes change colors simultaneously with her powers turning icy blue almost white when using ice, deep yellow like amber when using steam and very dark sapphire blue almost black when she makes water. Sometimes she can unconsciously change the temperature in the room when her mood changes. In dry atmosphere she can redirect the moisture in her body to her hands and expel it as either shards of ice, patches or gusts of snow, sprays of water or bursts of steam in small quantities. `

When using the water in he own body she can recycle the ice, water or snow she has already formed and re shape it or re absorb it as she sees fit. This is only possible if she makes direct physical contact with it. Due to this restriction she can't re absorb water that has been turned into steam unless she transforms it into another substance before touching it. When using moisture outside her body she can mold larger quantities into more flexible shapes compared to the small quantities inside her. If when using heat to make steam she quickly switches to cooling it then it can form a light or thick fog depending on the amount of water used. This is only possible if she uses both hands simultaneously. If she applies this same method to individual hands, meaning using heat on one hand and cold on the other she can make the humidity reach a stable temperature and turn it into solid water.

Generally water expands but remains at a constant weight when it's cold so she needs to use less water when making ice but steam separates so for a truly effective temperature change she needs larger amounts of humidity. When using outside moisture she runs a small risk of accidentally cutting herself with the ice if she looses control or burning herself with the steam for the same reason. When using moisture from inside her body she runs a high risk of dehydration especially if she can't get the water back to her body quickly. If she get's to the point of not being able to find a point to release the powers or she switches too rapidly from one to the other then she suffers from either high fevers or chills bordering on hypothermia depending on which power she used last. When using steam, even from an outside source, her core temperature rises rapidly and like wise using ice makes her inner temperature drop dramatically. Because of this she needs to constantly be drinking water to stabilize. Her powers are strongly linked to her emotions and can potentially activate on their own if she feels a strong enough sudden change in emotions like rage, panic or shock.

History:
Kat was the result of a fling between Elizabeth Cardin, a High class socialite and aspiring actress, and Keith Silverleaf, a successful Lawyer making a name for himself. Neither of them wanted the publicity of a child when they weren't married and both agreed that their careers came before an unplanned mistake. So they kept her birth a secret to avoid a scandal by having Elizabeth fake an illness during the pregnancy. Once Katherine Silverleaf Cardin was born she was sent to one of the private homes owned by her mother on a remote part of Nevada. There she was raised by several maids and butlers until she was five years old. By this age she started having serious tantrums because she wanted to be with her parents. The only contact she had with them was by watching them on t.v., the news or the occasional gift in the mail to try and calm her down. At first it worked but she quickly grew tired of the attempts and started lashing out at the maids and the butlers a like by ripping her toys and clothes. This made her otherwise uninterested mother take action, if anything she was highly vain about her belongings and it made her angry that a burden such as an unwanted child was disrupting her collection. Her solution was to send Kat to a foster home and shove her out of her life. One of the butlers knew someone that owned such a place in Grand Forks, North Dakota and volunteered to take her there.

For the next decade she was forced to live with eight other children. All of them were boys one to three years older than her. At first she was very cheerful, curious, full of warmth and life; excited to have friends to play with but by the time she turned 8 she had become a very different little girl. Every one of her new sibling treated her like the black sheep of the house; an interesting pet to tease on. Sometimes they pretended she was a ghost and acted as if she didn't exist for weeks on end, other times they would lock her outside for hours at a time or try to cut her hair and wear it as a fake mustache. The owners didn't care what happened to her as long as her mother sent them fat paychecks every month to keep Kat's identity hidden. Other than the paychecks there was the occasional random jewelry in the mail. Turns out that the butler who brought her here constantly stole her mothers jewelry and sent it to his lover, the supposed friend and owner of the home, as gifts. At first she felt angry that her moms things were being taken, then she felt happy that she was getting what she deserved and finally she felt sad that those were the only things that connected her to her biological mother. A mother that never once wanted her.

One day, after she had turned fourteen, an incident occurred. The boys had tied her to the bottom of the Christmas tree and started throwing snowballs at her. By the time they got bored and went outside to play in the snow she was soaking wet and shivering. She stared at her reflection in a small puddle in front of her, her expression one of deep thought. Her parents thought she was a bothersome mistake, the owners of the house saw her as a steady flow of cash, the boys saw her as a bug they could step on whenever they wanted and she didn't have a single friend. She started crying quietly in frustration at her life, her tears making tiny ripple in the puddle. Her sadness grew into anger. Anger at her dad for ignoring her existence, at her mother for throwing her away, at the owner for exploiting her, at the boys for treating her like a pest and at life for being so cruel to her. The air around her started feeling warm then hot as if the puddles were evaporating into steam. The humidity in the air caused the Christmas lights to short out and some of the bulbs exploded, setting the branches on fire.

She didn't feel the heat from the fire because the air was already hot, it wasn't until the bright color of the growing flames caught her eye in what remained of the puddles that she realized what was going on. She struggled to break free of the rope but it was wet and just stuck together. The branches quickly set a blaze like wildfire and hot clumps of burnt leaves started falling around her, stinging the exposed skin they landed on and setting the dry parts of the rug on fire. She began to panic, tugging at the ropes again with tears rolling down her cheeks. Then she screamed at the top of her lungs for help. No one responded at first. The boys assumed she just wanted to get untied so they ignored her but when black smoke started creeping out the windows and the door they rushed inside. The couch had caught fire now, the plush velvet igniting almost instantly into a blazing ball of heat. She went quiet and still, her eyes wide open and locked on the scorching couch in front of her. The only reason she wasn't lighting up along with it was that she was still damp from the earlier torture, but that water was quickly evaporating with the rising temperature. Even so, she felt cold and numb as if the air around her was getting colder instead of hotter. At that moment the owner came down stairs in a state of panic, she yelled at the boys to start throwing snow inside to put it out and went to get the water hose; completely ignoring the fact Kat was in the middle of the inferno.

The younger boys stayed outside because they were too afraid but started making snowballs as fast as they could and passed them to the older boys who started throwing them inside. No matter how many they threw, the snow would evaporate before it hit the floor. It was the water from the hose that started making progress, some of it collected on the burnt rug next to Kat, jolting her from her shocked daze. She shut her eyes and whispered in an almost broken voice "Someone...please....make it stop." At that moment the windows cracked from the heat and she screamed stop so loud it made her throat hurt. A gust of cold air burst around the room like a tornado, putting out the fire and freezing everything around her. The tree, the couch, the rug and the stream of water bursting out of the house all turned into still crystallized pieces of art. The woman and the kids all dropped to the floor, too stunned to react. Time seemed to stop. Kat opened her eyes and saw glittering ice everywhere, even the fire had frozen in wave like shapes, before collapsing.

So begins...

"Mhhhn..."

A soft morning breeze made a lock of her red hair tickle her nose and made sneeze. She didn't wake up. The warmth of sunlight on her face made her roll over but instead of laying comfortably on her side she felt as if she were flying towards that warm sun, then suddenly she crashed into it or more accurately she crashed into the ground.

"Oh for the love of....Oww!"

She had landed face first onto the gravel road in front of the house after rolling off the small porch step. She sat up, blinked in utter confusion as to why she was outside as opposed to in her bed and looked around. She saw a small black bag that had been hastily packed with what looked like her only hoodie, her black boots and a couple of other pieces of clothes on her right and a white envelope neatly resting on the porch step on her left. She hesitated for about half a minute before she picked it up. She had only gotten mail for two reasons in her life. The first was the monthly paycheck her mom sent to the owner of the house to keep Kat's identity secret. She didn't get a single dime of it of course, it all went into the leech's pocket. The second? A letter telling her she was going to go to a facility for "gifted children" that have such "incredible potential" in order to "benefit mankind". In other words they were shoving her into a box in the middle of nowhere with other freaks like her so that normal people could sleep better at night.

"Stupid snitch! She didn't have to call them."

The owner or, as Kat liked to call her, Mama Leech severely over reacted when her demonic sons had tied Kat to the Christmas tree a few days ago. Technically it was the boys fault that the she accidentally set the Christmas tree ...and the rug....and the couch on fire. In her defense there was no way she could have know that her powers would activate at that very moment much less know that she could turn water into steam when she was pissed off. The fact that the vapor caused the outlet on the wall to explode along with half the lights on the tree and shish-ka-bob it was totally not her fault.

" I mean...I did put it out. Not my fault that freaked them even more that actually setting things on fire in the first place. Everyone's a critic. "

This time she was referring to the second half of her powers, turning water into ice. Again in her defense she couldn't have possibly known about this either. You would think that turning a burning inferno into an icy museum of abstract art would thrill a person, but no it would only make them panic and call area 51 on your lil ass. On the bright side the subtle switch between setting a house on fire with steam and then freezing it made the boys back off on teasing her. Who would have thought that's all lit took to make them go from torturing her to flat out ignoring her existence. She knew they called her things like freak, Ice Queen and monster behind her back but she didn't really care about their failed attempts and making creative insults. These new powers gave her the opportunity to bully them back in revenge for all those years of pranks. Sometimes she would freeze the bathroom door lock so whoever was in it got trapped or worse locked out and forced to go in the woods. Activating this inner power made her turn a little hostile with it, teasing them as often as she could and turning her into a bit of a brat. But, she couldn't do anything big or complicated without feeling like she had a fever or as if she hadn't drank water in days. She didn't really understand how her powers worked or how she could even do what she did but she didn't question it. The scent of some cheep and overly sweet fruity perfume hit her nose like a freight train; bringing her back to reality.

"Gross...Why does he always have to spray such a nasty scent on these? Wonder what my dear old butler Joseph sent mama Leech this time. It's probably another set of pearl necklaces."

She shivered at the thought of that woman turning into a clam shaped treasure chest. She had been referring to the white envelope, which was clearly not addressed to her. It had been sent to M.L. by Joseph, the butler who brought Kat to this forsaken place over a decade ago. He took every chance he got to steal something from Katherine's mothers house and send it to his leach lover as a gift. Mostly it was scattered jewelry that hadn't been used in a long time or mysteriously disappeared after one of her mothers drunk episodes at the end of a party event. Most were older woman type jewelry like pearl and things that didn't particularly sparkly the way she liked.

. I swear if she gets any more of those she will turn into a human sized clam. Which now that i think about it would be ironic since sh-.."

She stopped mid sentence when she actually saw the contents of the gift. A long and thin black chain necklace was wrapped in a small circle around a silver locket. The outside was a soft silver white with an abstract design on it in the lightest blue, it almost looked like clouds. She gently pushed the little stub on the side and smiled as it opened. The inside had a charm carved on the material in the shape of a snowflake. The snowflake had tiny diamonds and sapphires in intricate combinations throughout the spaces in the design giving it a glittering almost 3D effect.

My oh my. Joseph my good man you have outdone yourself at last. This lil beauty is something i would like to get as a gift, let alone your lover. Hmm...Seeing as it is my mothers I think i will be taking back my family property. Heh, thanks for the early Birthday present."

She admired the stunning blues and whites that seemed to explode out of it from the suns light shining on the gems. It was beautiful. Somehow, during her daze of sparkles, she missed the fact that a huge black SUV with windows so dark she couldn't see inside it had parked in the drive way.

"Ok...How long has that been there?"

She said it softly to herself more shocked than anything then instantly jumped with a gasp as a deep voice spoke beside her. Her hands turned ice cold as a defensive reflex, she clenched them into fists when she noticed she could possible loose it again. She looked up and saw an impossibly tall man in a black suit staring down at her, or specifically her hands, with an almost comically stereotypical deep voice.

"Katherine Silverleaf, you have ten minutes to finish packing your belongings and get inside the vehicle. After that deadline has passed you will be considered an trespasser on this property and we will use any means necessary to remove you from the premises. Do you understand child?"

" Hahaha. You have got to be kidding me! With that voice and get up you could audition for the next great mafia trilogy. You would so get the par-...."

Her instant reaction was to laugh in his face. The pressed black suit, small handgun, two gold rings, dark SUV and deep voice were classic gangster movie style. She took out the boots from the bag and put them on before standing up, shoving still chuckling and sighing in disbelief and amusement. She stared at the man for about ten seconds before she started laughing. His slightly hostile sarcasm, subtle threat and the term child made her feel very annoyed like a kid getting told what to do by a parent. Her temper had spiked and made the air around them got hotter than it should be with the morning sun. Her eyes shifted from grey to a yellow hue, she was starting to loose control a little. The man seemed to notice the subtle change and made a small gesture towards the car with military grade precision. Seconds later three men that could have been his brothers jumped out of the car and formed a circle around her; all three aiming a handgun at her. Once she laced the boots up she stood and threw the bag over her shoulder as casually and slowly as possible.

" That's cheating you know. Ugh whatever old man. You can tell the puppets to chill. "

She shrugged it off, taking a deep breath until her hands felt like the temperature they should be and her eyes returned to the clear grey they were before. She looked back at the house while she waited for the guns to go away. The sight of the eight boys making mocking faces at her through the windows or quickly ducking away to hide from her view and Mama Leech standing on the porch counting the hundred dollar bills from the most recent paycheck her mother sent made her decision final. She looked at the man one more time, trying to look as harmless as possible and forced a smile. He finally nodded and signaled for them to escort her to the SUV.

"Get in the car and don't waste any more of my time than you already have. Its a long drive and I like my silence so buckle up and shut up. If you can do that much we wont have a problem. Will we?"

"You don't have to tell me twice old man. I will behave on one condition...I call shot gun!"

Her effort to call shot gun was swiftly rejected and she was shoved between two brick walls in the back seat. The men might as well have been statues glued to the car because no matter how much she squirmed or the car jumped they wouldn't budge. After about five minutes of struggling she gave up, leaned back on the seat for the rest of the ride. They arrived several hours later to a place that looked more like a high security prison that a school for a bunch of kids. Then again, if the other kids at this school could do things even close to the ones she could, its understandable that people would be afraid.

"Alright. Were here. Get your things and get out." The words came from the man driving and the tone suggested it was an order not a choice. She grabbed her bag and jumped out of the car, her long red hair floating to the right with the hot breeze. She looked back at the man and asked him something that had been on her mind during the whole ride."Were you guys really going to shoot me back there? Just because I might have said no to going to school?"The man paused for a second, really thinking about her question and how to respond. He looked at her for a long moment then spoke with what almost looked like pity in his eyes." They were tranquilizer guns, we wouldn't have hurt a kid. Even one like you. You kept your word to behave on the way here so I I will help you out this once. The registration office is through that door....Take care of yourself in there. You could pass for a regular kid when your mouths closed."

She could have sworn he was being nice to her but brushed it off as her imagination, why would he look at her as if she were being sent to the slaughter house. She might be short and delicate looking but she was by no means weak. She watched the car drive off behind the building, probably some staff parking or who knows what. It no longer mattered, she had bigger problems like finding her room. She followed his instructions, tensing a little at the dimly lit room and odd atmosphere in the building but sighed in relief when she found the receptionist waiting.

_______________________________________________________________________

"Hey. Is, this were I find out where I'm supposed to be staying? I'm Katherine. Katherine Silverleaf."

The woman on the other side of the desk looked up with an almost annoyed face, apparently Kat had interrupted her deep concentration on fixing her nails. By the look on her face she didn't like having to great weird kids all day. Her eyes scanned Kat in a way that made her shiver, scanning everything about her like some foreign object. For a moment she felt self conscious about what she was wearing but shrugged it off. She was wearing black ankle high boots, thigh high red socks, a tight long sleeve white sweater dress that ended right in the middle of her thigh and her black jacket wrapped around her hips, her silver ring with a water drop shaped sapphire and the snowflake locket hanging around her neck. In her opinion she look normal but she knew that the contrast between her grey eyes and red hair did make people stare sometimes. The woman looked back down at the computer after hearing her name and typed something into it. A few moments later she looked up and spoke in a very teacher like manner.

"There is a sign that answers that question right over there, but seeing as that is too difficult for you I will tell you. The room you are assigned to will be 115A. You are to be in your rooms by 9:00PM, Breakfast is at 8:00Am Lunch 1:00PM and dinner 7:00PM. If you do not make it in time for the meals, you will not be provided anything else to eat until the next meal. Any misbehaving children will be sent to the headmaster, who does not take kindly to trouble makers. We will not accommodate anyone, no matter the inconvenience. Your schedules will be given to you in a week when classes start, after construction is finished. Until then the construction zone is strictly off limits, no exceptions. If there is nothing else, which I doubt there is, then please make your way over to your room, I am very busy."

_______________________________________________________________________

She went back to meticulously trying to get all her nails even as if Kat did't exist anymore. It was almost like she was back home again getting ignored seemed like a growing trend among people she met. She didn't bother saying thanks or asking which direction to go, somehow she doubted an answer would have come to any of those question even if she had asked. So she did the only thing she could, start walking. After a good five minutes, a couple of wrong turns and some hard thinking she managed to find room 115A. She walked in, expecting an empty room and first choice of the bed but instead she was met with a very unusual and unexpected scenario. There was a boy, floating in the middle of the room. She blinked twice, unsure if she was hallucinating. She didn't know what was a bigger shock, the fact that there was a guy floating in her room or the fact that there was a guy in the middle of her room in the first place. She walked very quietly towards him, arching an eyebrow in confusion, her small frame helping her boots to not make a sound; even so she felt oddly light. He looked very relaxed and if it weren't for the mischievous smirk on his lips then she would have questioned whether he was conscious or not. She decided there was only one way to find out if he was thinking about something or was just naturally creepy in his sleep. She tilted her head to the side slightly and spoke.

"So...I have two possible explanations for what I am looking at right now. Either you are a very high tech welcome party pinata or you are the person I will be stuck with while I'm here that the receptionist kindly forgot to mention in the middle of her self beauty therapy."

She was standing about a foot away from his face, arms crossed, her big grey eyes locked on his face and a few strands of her long red hair floating up towards the ceiling. Whether that was static or a side effect of however he was floating was unclear at the moment. As long as she didn't spontaneously start floating along with him in her short dress or crash into the ceiling then she would remain more curious about this situation than afraid.

"So...I have two possible explanations for what I am looking at right now. Either you are a very high tech welcome party pinata or you are the person I will be stuck with while I'm here that the receptionist kindly forgot to mention in the middle of her self beauty therapy."

Caelan's eyes slowly opened at the sound of another voice in the room. He found himself face to inverted face with a smaller girl with shockingly red hair and grey eyes. My roommate? Lucky day for me, then. Caelan righted himself before allowing gravity to take full control of his own body again, lightly landing on the floor without even the slightest noise. He stretched his neck before taking time to look the girl over. She was pretty, and rather ordinary looking. Then again, I suppose we all aren't we? I'm rather fortunate, Mihael would be all over her were he here right now. And that gets slightly trying. He smiled warmy, deciding to try Mihael's approach for once. Maybe. Subtlety was never his strongest point.

"It's the second option. Welcome to 'school'. I expect we'll get to know each other quite well over the next few... whenever... until they decide we're ready to go back out into the world. I'm Caelan McManus. My brother and I are here for... various pranks we've pulled in the past. But who're you? And what do you do?"

Caelan moved over to sit on one of the beds, watching the new girl with an expression of mild interest. If she had powers that could be useful to him or Mihael, she would make a powerful ally. Someone else to shake the foundations of the school with. Something he could easily do himself, but not yet. In time, it would all come tumbling down around the heads of the morons who decided building a place like this was worth the money and time. The McManus brothers would take their own vengeance of sorts. As much as Caelan wanted to level the complex as soon as they arrived, Mihael had managed to convince him that slowly decaying the structure from the inside out would be the more enjoyable option. Ordinarily not something Caelan enjoyed, but the promised fireworks when it all came crashing down were enough for him to stay his hand. While waiting for her to answer, Caelan decided he'd enjoy some fun slightly at her expense. Without breaking eye contact, Caelan surrounded her belongings with his power, causing them to float away from her and towards the ceiling, but quick enough for her to catch onto them. The field wouldn't be strong to lift her off, but it would prevent her belongings from bumping gently against the ceiling for a time. A little fun to break the ice, I think.

The boy, or as he called himself Caelan, had opened his eyes and righted himself until his appearance agreed with the logic of gravity. His unusual yellow eyes never broke their connection with hers as he moved to sit on one of the beds in one swift movement. A warm smile had sprawled across his face as he spoke to her, making her cheeks attempt to match the red hue of her hair but fail miserably and only turn soft pink. She tried to ignore the fact that he was kind of attractive, for a guy. His welcome to the school comment made her think he really was a welcome pinata, minus the candy stuffed insides of course.

" Thanks, I think. Perhaps we will, seeing as I get to see your charming face every time I wake up or go to sleep. Brother? Does he do any unusual stuff like you do? Not that anything anyone here does is any less unusual than the rest but... Hmm anyway what kind of pranks would land you in that much trouble?. As for who I am..."

Her bag, necklace and jacket suddenly felt very light to the point they started floating up towards the ceiling as she spoke. She arched an eyebrow and broke eye contact, for the first time since walking into the room, to look at her things in the air. She felt both amused and slightly annoyed, the second being a very bad catalyst for loosing control of her powers. The air around them started getting a little to chilly for the time of day in a hot desert, to the point that you could see your breath in front of you. When she looked back down at him her eyes were a shocking icy blue that made a stunning contrast against her scarlet hair. She smirked then spoke with a mischievous tone and a dangerous look on in her eyes, like someone walking a thin line between hugging a cat and strangling it.

" Katherine. Katherine Silverleaf. You can call me Kat. As for what I can do? It varies depending on my mood and other variables but I can basically change the temperature of the moisture in the air. I can make it so hot it turns into steam or..."

She moved her index finger on her left hand towards him. In a matter of seconds the floor between them had crystallized into a thin glittering path of ice that snaked it's way to the bottom part of his bed. It moved up to just bellow his mattress in jagged sharp patterns that surrounded all the metal beneath him. Even though she was slightly annoyed at him teasing her she was having fun. She tensed slightly when she saw the edge of the mattress start freezing as well, getting closer and closer to him. She wasn't using enough power to loose control so soon, but there it was fighting to break free of her command. She hesitated a moment, unsure if she should speak her thoughts or just concentrate on not impaling him. Then she remembered her things floating above her. She closed her eyes again and took a deep breath, speaking in a matter of fact tone.

"...so cold it freezes. It's a fun power. Especially if someone gets me mad, scares me out of nowhere or I use large amounts of it at once since it can kind of get a mind of it's own. So unless you want me to "accidentally" turn you into a living ice cube in your sleep."

This time when she opened them they were a deep amber yellow. She moved her left hand in a fist in front of her then opened it horizontally as if dropping something towards the floor. Simultaneously the ice that was making it's way towards Caelan melted into a harmless puddle on the floor beneath his bed. So he thought. She wasn't done yet. This time her right hand turned side ways with a quick flick of her wrist, her palm laying horizontally towards the ceiling. She bent it forward as if reaching towards the puddles then quickly moved it back up into a fist. The puddles started boiling rapidly until a thin but constant flow of steam evaporated around him in scalding pillars. The pillars gave of the same effect that humidity did on top of the road on a very hot day, blurry patches of heat. After a few seconds the thin blurry patches adjusted leaving nothing but a particularly hot feeling in the room that also stabilized after another few seconds; leaving no trace of the events that took place. She blinked repeatedly until her eyes dissolved back into the strange grey they were naturally. That side of her power was a lot less stable, a lot more dangerous and could really hurt her and anyone close by if she lost control. So she tended to stay away from it but for small party tricks like this she could afford the tiny risk. That's why she was here right? To practice and learn how to control her powers. She looked at him with a smug expression, pleased that her brief display of her powers went as planned. She gave him the same warm friendly smile he had given her as she spoke the other half of her threat.

"Give me my stuff back roommate. If you do then I can see this as the beginning of a beautiful friendship. If not...Well. Let's not get into that shall we? Now, anymore questions or can we go get some food comrade?"

She went for the subtle threat to mask the fact she was embarrassed to actually ask him for her stuff after showing of her powers. There was no way she would admit the fact that even if she jumped she wouldn't reach the bag floating on top of her. At least not out loud. Curse her tiny body. Besides, she was going to seem as strong as possible in this piranha filled prison, there was no way that she was going to seem helpless in front of him or anyone. So she stood her ground and waited for his answer.

The girl blushed. It made her more attractive, actually. He allowed himself a brief stare to take the sight in before snapping back to the situation at hand in an instant. I’m glad Mihael isn’t here. At least something nice comes my way, for once. Then again, I usually scare them off. Might as well enjoy this. He politely focused on her self-introduction, paying particular attention for her name and powers. She may prove useful in their plans for flipping the school.

"Thanks, I think. Perhaps we will, seeing as I get to see your charming face every time I wake up or go to sleep. Brother? Does he do any unusual stuff like you do? Not that anything anyone here does is any less unusual than the rest but... Hmm anyway what kind of pranks would land you in that much trouble? As for who I am… Katherine. Katherine Silverleaf. You can call me Kat. As for what I can do? It varies depending on my mood and other variables but I can basically change the temperature of the moisture in the air. I can make it so hot it turns into steam or..."

It was halfway through the conversation that Caelan noticed that the air began to grow rather cold around them. His breath slowly began to float in front of him, oddly enough. He remained calm, realizing that this would be her power manifesting. The chill air, rather welcome in the absurd Arizona heat, didn’t phase Caelan. While a neat party trick, he wasn’t truly convinced of the strength of the power quite yet. Making the room chilly wasn’t something he was looking for…

A sharp crackling noise drew Caelan’s attention as ice seemed to snap into existence on the floor between them, and his eyebrows rose as the ice began to creep up the bed and slowly freeze part of his mattress. As the ice grew closer to him, Caelan began to get slightly irritated. He looked back at Katherine, his eyes slightly narrowed. The beds shook slightly as Caelan’s powers began to run rampant. He tried, successfully for once, to calm himself and not crush anything within a good distance under its own weight. He couldn’t afford to lose control here, not without Mihael to stop him. Caelan looked back at Katherine, waiting to see if anything would change.

"...so cold it freezes. It's a fun power. Especially if someone gets me mad, scares me out of nowhere or I use large amounts of it at once since it can kind of get a mind of it's own. So unless you want me to "accidentally" turn you into a living ice cube in your sleep."

Her eyes. They’d turned deep golden amber. His mouth slackened slightly at the sight. It was unsettling, yet alluring. He hardly noticed the ice evaporating into water until some of the steam floated into his eyes and made him blink repeatedly. By the time his vision cleared and the room returned to normal, Katherine’s eyes had returned to the normal grey they once were.
Intriguing. Definitely something we may be able to use. I’ll see what Mihael thinks then I meet him again. He stood, clapping slightly.

"Give me my stuff back roommate. If you do then I can see this as the beginning of a beautiful friendship. If not...Well. Let's not get into that shall we? Now, anymore questions or can we go get some food comrade?"

”Fair’s fair. I’ll drop your stuff. After that, sure. Food sounds great. I’m looking forward to getting to know you more and more, Katherine. You’re quite the interesting girl. And quite the stunner, if you don’t mind me saying. I’m starting to look forward to this place, now.” Caelan laughed, stood, and quickly crossed the room to Katherine, looking down at her with a bit of a smile. As he crossed room, her belongings slowly returned to the ground at her feet. He smiled warmly again, once again glad that Mihael wasn’t here. ”So, shall we go now? I’m starting to get really hungry. I wonder what…”

Several knocks on the door interrupted Caelan. "Hey, brother! Let me in. I've got a progress report. And a very valuable new friend. Oh, and make sure that you're wearing pants! It's a lady." Caelan sighed. He moved closer to Katherine to whisper into her ear. ”We can talk more later. But, just a warning, my brother will most likely flirt with you. Shamelessly. Just a warning. And he’s just as powerful as me, but he controls something very… different… from me. You’ll see. I’d love to see more of your powers though. ” He broke away from Katherine and opened the door, standing to the side to admit Mihael and Desire. ”Yeah yeah, piss off. That only happened once, Mihael. You and I both know that. And, for once, a girl’s been here WITHOUT being dragged along by you. Now, what’ve you found about this place? Who’s your friend? She worth anything, or is she a tagalong of yours, now?

"Jeez... Easy on the words, brother."

Mihael would enter without a word and would only speak once he and Desire were in the room and the door was closed. "As always, I come with valuable information. But before I impart any wisdom with you, let me just say that this is Desire. Call her Dess. And she is certainly worth a lot. I'll let her tell you about that at her will... But what's mostly important about her, besides the obvious," He pointed quickly with his eyes at her, "Is that she has a wonderful gift. And that she is willing to fight with me." And while they certainly weren't a couple, he didn't bother to try and flirt with Katherine. Just to keep impressions with Desire, really. That did not prohibit him from greeting her, however. "Good afternoon, m'lady. My brother is so rude, isn't he? He wouldn't even give me your name. If I could have the pleasure? My name is Mihael."

After she would give her name and whatever pleasantries would follow, Mihael would toss himself onto his brother's bed and pat beside him for Dess to sit. "I met the headmistress at lunch. By the way, food here's shit. Not quite prison food, but y'know. Close... Anyway, is she with us?" He shrugged and shook his head at his question. It didn't matter if she heard either way. "Anyway, the headmistress. She didn't even try to feign kindness. Completely rude, even after I called her beautiful. Can you believe that? But anyway... I get the feeling that this isn't just a school. Primary reason? Us. They have the students here brainwashed that this is a place for them to 'master their power' and grow as individuals and blah blah. But if that was the case... why are we here? Why wouldn't they just lock us up in some special prison? It isn't adding up to me, brother..." His eyes turned to Dess. "Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention. We got into the trouble with the law and ended up here. It was just a misunderstanding, I promise." Yeah. Their victim was misunderstanding the extent of their power, but that didn't need to be said.

"Anyway, I froze her in time and tried to rally the other students. They weren't having it. They're on her side, I think. Which means that someone might tell her about my little call to arms. She may target me... Which means she might get confused and go for you. I know you can handle yourself. And I can handle myself. But be on guard." He sighs and lays down on the bed, snuggling his face happily into his brother's pillow. "I'll be damned if these beds aren't comfortable, though... But yes. Yes. Save for you, Desire, and myself, I have not met anyone of adequate potential to join us. My roommate can control weather... sort of. She refuses to do anything neat with it, so she's a definite 'maybe.' I still need to scout more, but I suppose I'll need to be more discreet from now on." Yawning a little bit, he would rest his eyes and nuzzle his face a bit more into the pillow. "Status report complete."

"Very well. I'm sure Caelan will be happy to meet you. But he's not quite as... pleasant as I can be, I suppose. So I apologize in advance for any comments he makes." Mihael said in response to Desire's question about visiting his brother.

She smiled, "I think I'll survive." Dess responded sarcastically, allowing Mihael to open the door for her and then stepping out of the room. Since Caelan's room was directly next door, it took only a few steps for them to arrive and Mihael wasted no time banging on the door and yelling for his brother.

"Hey, brother! Let me in. I've got a progress report. And a very valuable new friend." He would turn his head to Desire and smile with closed eyes and she couldn't help but laugh. "Oh, and make sure that you're wearing pants! It's a lady."

It didn't take long for Caelan to come to the door. She heard a hushed male voice on the other side, but couldn't quite make out the words before the door swung open to reveal an irritated version of Mihael. Desire didn't know what she had expected when Mihael said that he had a twin, but it definitely wasn't what stood before her; the two looked like mirror images of each other!

”Yeah yeah, piss off. That only happened once, Mihael. You and I both know that. And, for once, a girl’s been here WITHOUT being dragged along by you. Now, what’ve you found about this place? Who’s your friend? She worth anything, or is she a tagalong of yours, now?"

Desire raised an eyebrow at Caelan's conduct, a smirk replacing her earlier look of shock. "Oh you were right, Mihael, he really is a delight to be around." She followed Mihael into the room and gave a nod of hello to the other female in the room. She had been prepared to introduce herself, but Mihael took care of that for her and after the introductions were through with, she sad beside him on what she assumed was his brother's bed.

Desire closed her eyes and listened quietly as Mihael went over everything that happened in the lunch room. She wasn't entirely surprised when he mentioned the detail about him and his brother getting into a 'misunderstanding' with the law, so she didn't really react. Finally when he was finished talking, Dess opened her eyes again and laid them on first Katherine, the Caelan waiting to see what either of them might say.

"Fair’s fair. I’ll drop your stuff. After that, sure. Food sounds great. I’m looking forward to getting to know you more and more, Katherine. You’re quite the interesting girl. And quite the stunner, if you don’t mind me saying. I’m starting to look forward to this place, now.”He walked over and looked down at her with another one of his charming smiles, her things falling slowly on the ground beside her as he moved. It was kind of intimidating how much taller he was, it made her feel strange having him so close almost like the air got thicker all of a sudden. ”So, shall we go now? I’m starting to get really hungry. I wonder what…” She was pretty sure she would have blushed again if he got any closer but several knocks on the door interrupted him. They were followed by a loud voice on the other side of the door and a comment that made her chuckle in response. "Hey, brother! Let me in. I've got a progress report. And a very valuable new friend. Oh, and make sure that you're wearing pants! It's a lady."

Caelan sighed and moved closer to Katherine to whisper into her ear, making her tense slightly but she did't move. ”We can talk more later. But, just a warning, my brother will most likely flirt with you. Shamelessly. Just a warning. And he’s just as powerful as me, but he controls something very… different… from me. You’ll see. I’d love to see more of your powers though. ” She swallowed at the subtle hit that the topic of her powers would be brought up again once they were along, was that going to be a good or a bad thing? She shrugged it off, picked her stuff up from the floor and moved towards her bed as Caelan opened the door with a snark remark of his own. ”Yeah yeah, piss off. That only happened once, Mihael. You and I both know that. And, for once, a girl’s been here WITHOUT being dragged along by you. Now, what’ve you found about this place? Who’s your friend? She worth anything, or is she a tag along of yours, now?Katherine looked at the people coming in with high curiosity, her grey eyes hovering over the girl curiously then stopping on the boy all together. It was like looking at Caelan part two. He had mentioned he had a brother but it had escaped his mind to mention the fact that it was a twin brother. They looked so alike that unless they spoke you really couldn't tell them apart. The girl had a similar reaction of surprise that quickly turned into amusement with a smirk on her lips. "Oh you were right, Mihael, he really is a delight to be around." She caught herself and blinked, looking back at her Caelan and the girl so she wouldn't be staring at his brother with a stunned face.

"As always, I come with valuable information. But before I impart any wisdom with you, let me just say that this is Desire. Call her Dess. And she is certainly worth a lot. I'll let her tell you about that at her will... But what's mostly important about her, besides the obvious....Is that she has a wonderful gift. And that she is willing to fight with me." Kat had now sat on he corner of her bed, crossing her legs carefully so that she wouldn't accidentally flash anyone. Caelan's brother was talking very highly of this girl, this made Kat very curious as to what she was capable of. After meeting Caelan and know what she could do herself it was anyone's guess. Her little thought process was interrupted when the conversation shifted to her. "Good afternoon, m'lady. My brother is so rude, isn't he? He wouldn't even give me your name. If I could have the pleasure? My name is Mihael." The image that Caelan had painted of Mihael being a shameless flirty somehow didn't match the person in front of her. Was she missing something or was this just an anomaly? "Katherine Silverleaf. You can call me Kat.

Mihael jumped onto his brother's bed and pat beside him for Dess to sit. The girl shortly followed and sat beside him, they would seemed strangely close for having just met if the conversation didn't have Kat's attention instead. Apparently they had missed a lot during introductions, including food that no longer seemed appealing. So the kinds of pranks that Caelan was talking about had landed them in trouble with the law, shed have to ask about those later on. Her steel grey eyes locked on Mihael as he described using his powers, Caelan wasn't joking when he said similar but different. She was kind of happy that they seemed to be friendly at the moment, she would hate to be on the bad end of either one of the twins, or the strange girl who was introduced as Desire or Dess. If she had a power strong enough for one of them to praise her then she had to be a threat. Towards the end of his speech he mentioned yet another interesting power, a girl that could control the weather. Somehow, their manner of speaking sounded like they were recruiting people for a rebellion. She didn't really understand the entirety of what was going on but a student uprising sounded like a hell of a good time.

"Well, I don't really get the whole picture seeing as this is the first time I hear of your future CoupD'etat in the making but...Sounds like it could be fun. I'm in. If you will have me of course." She looked at Caelan as she spoke, as if simultaneously saying "you are so giving me the juicy details of this later" and asking "Do I have to give him a demonstration too or can you vouch for me?". Then she looked straight at his brother, her playful smile seem like a friendly statement but her grey eyes showing she was very serious. If she was going to be rooming with crazy people then she might as well enjoy the ride. What's the worst that could happen?

"Good afternoon, m'lady. My brother is so rude, isn't he? He wouldn't even give me your name. If I could have the pleasure? My name is Mihael."

Caelan stood back as Mihael barged his way in, like always, and flopped down on his bed. To be expected, really. Mihael was almost predictable in his nonchalance, but Caelan didn't mind. The more shocking development was Mihael's lack of flirting, which caused Caelan's eyebrows to rise in surprise for a few brief moments. Before he could make his own sharp retort, Desire spoke up for the briefest of moments. "Oh you were right, Mihael, he really is a delight to be around." Caelan gave her a brief glare before turning back to Mihael and listening to him recount the most recent developments at the school. The mention of the time lock made Caelan smile. Ahh, the charismatic revolution leader.Things never change, Mihael. The mention of the students siding with the headmistress didn't really bother Caelan. He knew they were more than a match for the rest of the students. Even if Desire was strong enough to warrant Mihael's respect, Caelan still knew nothing about her, but didn't need to. As his twin, Mihael's respect was enough. If she wasn't worthy, she wouldn't be here. Simple as that.

"Well, I don't really get the whole picture seeing as this is the first time I her of your future CoupD'etat in the making but...Sounds like it could be fun. I'm in." Katherine's sudden outburst was heartening to the cause, but Caelan wasn't sure if Mihael would be as impressed by her manipulation of the moisture in the air as he was. It had potential, but seemed temperamental. Especially if emotions could influence the power, he knew exactly what kind of problems emotions could play in situations involving people like himself and Mihael. Too many embarrassing and shameful memories of beatings flashed through Caelan's mind of the times where he'd lost his temper. Caelan shrugged it off and stood nearer to Kat's side of the room.

"Well, at least we've got a start somewhat. And yes, Mihael, Katherine is with us. Her power is interesting, and potentially very useful. She could provide a demonstration, which you'd probably enjoy, but I can briefly summarize. She controls the moisture in the air, freezing or boiling it whenever she wishes it. It's something we can probably utilize to bring down this shithole. Although..." Caelan couldn't help but chuckle slightly. "The fact that some of the students here think this place is here to help them is laughably pathetic at best. We're not here for help. This is a zoo. A place for people to gawp at us while they isolate us from society to "protect us". Air quotes helped him emphasize his point. It's a farce. But realistically, even the four of us should be enough to start something here. These people don't know what they're dealing with. Caelan smiled darkly, and cracked his knuckles loudly. "I'd love to see how high and mighty these morons get when they're crushed beneath the weight of their own bodies. So. What exactly does Des do? I assume she knows what you do. Did you mention what I can do?" A brief look over at Kat tied off his small monologue nicely. He favored her with a look that simply read Later. In time.

Desire was somewhat surprised when the girl, Katherine, was the first to pipe up. "Well, I don't really get the whole picture seeing as this is the first time I her of your future CoupD'etat in the making but...Sounds like it could be fun. I'm in." She didn't look like the type who would be willing to get her hands dirty, just a small, pretty girl. Though, looking down at herself, she realized that she wasn't much different.

Although..."

Dess looked up at Kat with an eyebrow raised; controlling the moisture in the air was an interesting power and she was curious to see it in action.

"The fact that some of the students here think this place is here to help them is laughably pathetic at best. We're not here for help. This is a zoo. A place for people to gawp at us while they isolate us from society to "protect us". But realistically, even the four of us should be enough to start something here. These people don't know what they're dealing with."

Desire couldn't help but smile as Caelan preached. He seemed to have as much confidence in himself as Mihael did and they both had a strong respect for each other.

Looking at Katherine, Dess realized another weapon the group had against the system. Both her and Kat were not what one would consider imposing. Two young girls, no taller than 5'5, who had no problem embracing their feminine side. No one would expect the threat that they posed. The thought brought a self-satisfied smile to Desire's lips.

"-I'd love to see how high and mighty these morons get when they're crushed beneath the weight of their own bodies. So. What exactly does Des do? I assume she knows what you do. Did you mention what I can do?"

"Dess can speak for herself." Desire finally cut in, tucking some strands of snow white hair behind her ear. "I can manipulate blood. If you need a demonstration I can provide one, but Mihael's seen what I can do." She sent a glance Mihael's way, then turned back to Caelan. "No, he hasn't mentioned your powers yet though from the way he talks about you I assume it's magnificent." She drew out the last word with a bit of sarcasm though she didn't doubt Caelan was as powerful as Mihael made it seem.

"No, he hasn't mentioned your powers yet though from the way he talks about you I assume it's magnificent."

Caelan smiled again, this time the confident smile worthy of a Hollywood blockbuster villain. He confidently strode to the center of the room, between both beds and parties. Winking briefly at Mihael, Caelan crossed his arms rather theatrically. A brief thought, and he began to float towards the ceiling. A moment later, everything else in the room began to float with him, other than the beds currently occupied by Mihael, Desire, and Katherine. "If you couldn't guess, I control gravity. If you're affected by gravity at all, you're capable of being affected by my powers. Take this chair here, for example."

A metal chair floated away from its hovering position near a small rudimentary desk. As the chair floated to Caelan, the other objects in the room slowly settled back to their original position. "Not to terrible, right? I can make things float, right? Wrong. Caelan's eyes narrowed slightly as he briefly focused on the chair. The chair began to wobble, then groan, then shriek as the chair began to warp in on itself, slowly crushed by its own weight until it became a smooth metal plate on the ground. He picked it up and handed it to Des. "There. It goes rather well with Mihael. Makes for very fun... pranks. Like he said, it's why we're here. But it was absolutely worth it. Controlling blood sounds very interesting, I look forward to seeing it in action. Judging by Mihael's reaction, it's quite the show-stopper. I look forward to working with you to bring this place down.

She saw Caelan moving closer to her side of the room before speaking in that casual manner of his that was quickly growing familiarly comforting. It's something we can probably utilize to bring down this shit hole. Although..." His small praise as to her having possible potential to the cause made her look up at him with a small surprised smirk. Since when did she care whether or not he approved of her? Strange. The use of the word interesting and the offer of a demonstration made her wonder if she should show them the third part of her power. For now she would keep it to herself, It was a work in progress after all and only worked half of the times she had tried. She was still discovering exactly what she could do with her abilities, so far she knew she could make ice if she made it cold enough and she could make steam if she did the opposite. She also knew she could manipulate the shape, speed and direction in which either of the two moved. She still lacked knowledge as to how far she could manipulate them if she tried it on a larger scale. Shed have to use Caelan as a practice dummy sometime with the added bonus of this cause being a perfect excuse to try something big. If it worked it would mean points in her favor and to them, if it didn't then no harm done right? None of them really had anything to loose in her childish attempts, well except for maybe the headmaster and her henchmen. Ignoring all that she at least controlled enough of her powers to seem like a potential threat; which to an extent she could be deadly. After all, she was brought here wasn't she? Caelan's chuckle diverted her attention back to him as he went on with his speech.

"The fact that some of the students here think this place is here to help them is laughably pathetic at best. We're not here for help. This is a zoo. A place for people to gawp at us while they isolate us from society to "protect us". His words made her lean back against the wall at the rear edge of her bed. Were they just being used as guinea pigs here? She knew it was too good to be true that they had designed a place to help them get better at their powers and protect them from people that would react violently to witnessing what they could do, but a small part of her kind of hung on to the possibility. Listening to Mihael and now Cealan talk about it made it look more and more like an impossibility. Even so, she was still going to get the most out of being here starting with these three. They clearly had a much tighter grasp on what they could do either from natural skill or the fact that they had probably been using their powers much longer than she had."It's a farce. But realistically, even the four of us should be enough to start something here. These people don't know what they're dealing with. The dark smile on his face sent a shiver up her spine, it was such a sudden change from his earlier warm smile that for a second she thought she had activated her powers accidentally. The sound of him cracking his knuckles confirmed that the effects had not been of her doing, just his overpowering aura. It was intimidating, the air around him, but something about his eerily sinister speech didn't let her pull her eyes away from him. "I'd love to see how high and mighty these morons get when they're crushed beneath the weight of their own bodies." That last sentence let the big picture of what she had gotten into sink in. This was no game. They were going all out on this plan and taking anything that stood against them down in the process. The air around her immediate surroundings chilled slightly, her eyes hinting at the icy blue that formed an almost ghostly contrast against her crimson hair and white skin. The image of her beautiful ice turning the same color as her hair by a bloody river dripping out from under the rubble of the collapsed school sent her into a dark place in her head, her smile dissolving into a serious expression of deep thought. It wasn't enough to affect the whole room but Caelan was close enough to feel the gradual shift in her eyes and the air.

"So. What exactly does Des do? I assume she knows what you do. Did you mention what I can do?" His barrage or question diverted the attention towards the guests in the room but not before he looked down at her. The look on his face said he would indulge her with the answers to her silent questions later on. This brightened her mood a little and made her settle just a little bit, her eyes staying mostly grey as she looked at the other side of the room. It was then that she noticed for the first time that Dess was looking at her curiously. Had she been staring long and if so then why? Kat blushed a very light pink and shifted in place uncomfortably. She wasn't used to people staring at her for reasons she didn't understand. She shifted her eyes back towards Mihael but quickly changed back to Dess as she spoke. "Dess can speak for herself." She cut into the conversation for the first time as if annoyed that the boys had been speaking for her. Kat took a moment to really look at her for the first time. Her snowy white hair was a real eye catcher and her eyes... She didn't look very threatening. "I can manipulate blood. If you need a demonstration I can provide one, but Mihael's seen what I can do." The reveal of her ability made Kat blink in surprise. She certainly didn't see that coming. Blood? How would that even work? Then again how did her own powers work? Still it was a shocking turn of events, one that she was very curious to see in action. The girl glanced at Mihael as if for confirmation then shifted her eyes towards Caelan before she spoke again. "No, he hasn't mentioned your powers yet though from the way he talks about you I assume it's magnificent." The last bit of that statement sounded almost sarcastic. Would that be taken as a taunt or a challenge against his power? Her question was quickly answered.

Caelan shot the room a very confident smile that again sent a chill up her spine but made her slightly excited for the show. She had seen his floating display before so it shouldn't really be surprising unless there was more to his power than he let on. He made his way to the center of the room between both of the beds and winked at his brother while dramatically crossing his arms like a magician would, which made Kat roll her eyes and give a small chuckle. It was an amusing display, he could put on a show shed give him that much credit. Almost instantly after her reaction he began to float towards the ceiling. A moment later, everything other than the beds and the people began to float with him. "If you couldn't guess, I control gravity. If you're affected by gravity at all, you're capable of being affected by my powers. Take this chair here, for example." It wasn't her first time seeing it but she was just as amused with the floating display of objects, it was interesting listening to the actual explanation of what he was doing. If you really thought about it it could be an annoying and bothersome power to deal with but it wasn't scary or seemed dangerous at all. A metal chair floated away from where it was while everything else went back to it's original place. "Not to terrible, right? I can make things float, right? Wrong. The statement came as if he had read her mind, her eyes hovered over his which suddenly concentrated on onto the chair like a hawk. Her eyes followed his gaze to the chair, she held her breath in anticipation at what he would do. The chair began to wobble, then groan, then shriek as it seemed to shrink in on itself, slowly crushed by its own weight until it became a smooth metal plate on the ground. Kat gave a small gasp, startled by what she had just seen. Floating wasn't threatening but being squashed by gravity certainly was. "There. It goes rather well with Mihael. Makes for very fun... pranks. Like he said, it's why we're here. But it was absolutely worth it." She stared as he moved to pick the plate up, seeing him with newly found respect."Controlling blood sounds very interesting, I look forward to seeing it in action. Judging by Mihael's reaction, it's quite the show-stopper. I look forward to working with you to bring this place down."His words seemed to echo her thoughts on the matter of Desires powers, she too was anxious to see them. She looked at Desire expectantly, wondering if she would show them or if Kat herself would be asked to give an example of what she did. For now, she waited to see what events unfolded.

Caelan hadn't seemed to catch Desire's sarcasm, but was more than happy to take the chance to demonstrate his power. He strode to the center of the room and crossed his arms, more for the theatrical aspect than a necessity, then floated up into the air. It was a cute trick, but Desire didn't see how it merited the amount of praise that Mihael gave it and she didn't see what element of it would 'crush people beneath the weight of their own bodies' as he had put it earlier. However, he didn't appear to be finished quite yet, so Dess crossed her legs and folded her hands in her lap.

That was when the furniture began to float, all but the beds that the three were sitting on. She watched at things floated around her, a genuine smile gracing her features. No, not a bad trick at all. Still, it wasn't very threatening. As she thought this, everything began lowering back to their original places and Caelan spoke as though he read her mind, "Not too terrible, right? I can make things float, right? Wrong." Desire quirked an eyebrow and waited for him to elaborate.

Caelan did not disappoint. His eyes found a metal chair and he focused hard on it. Dess watched as the chair began to shake and groan in protest then shrieking, it began to crumple up and shrink like a tin can in a trash compressor. By the time Caelan was done, the chair had become nothing more than a smooth metal plate. It seemed she was wrong, Caelan's power was nothing to scoff at. He then picked up the disk and handed it to her. She gave him a smile, "I suppose Mihael wasn't lying when he told me how strong you are. I'm glad I'm not your enemy."

"Controlling blood sounds very interesting, I look forward to seeing it in action. Judging by Mihael's reaction, it's quite the show-stopper. I look forward to working with you to bring this place down."

Desire could tell that this wasn't the place for modesty where powers where concerned and she felt that after Caelan's show she needed to do something to show her worth. She sat the metal plate down on the bed beside her and sat so that she was facing both Katherine and Caelan, then held out her palms so that they could see her tattoos. "I'm not going to give you the whole spiel I gave Mihael, but basically these markings help me when I want to use my own blood."

As she spoke, Desire ran her right index finger over the iris on her left palm and then vice versa, allowing a steady stream to escape her hands and run down her arms. Her eyes turned blood red and her irises thinned to slits like those on her hands. She then clenched her hands into fists and the blood rand thicker. Suddenly, the stream began to flow upwards into her clenched fists and formed itself into the shapes of two daggers. Desire opened her hands and they floated where she left them. Her eyes turned over to the dresser nearby and, with a flick of her wrist, the daggers sailed through the air and embedded themselves into the wood before returning to a liquid state and floating back in through the markings on her palms.

Her eyes reverted to their original pink hue, and she gave a small smile. "I can also control people through the use of their own blood, but unless any of you want to volunteer I won't demonstrate it." Though she appeared confident on the outside, the amount she used her power in that one day was beginning to take its toll. Desire could feel the beginnings of a headache throbbing in the base of her skull but did her best to hide her weakness.

Vinnie began unpacking as everyone dispersed throughout the building, putting her belongings into the drawers. She also made her bed neater than was done before, and decided to go find out who else was at the school, she began by locking her door and looking at each door number. Which one should she go in? She stopped in front of 115A, and decided it was an okay place to start, and she knocked.

"How nice it is that everyone is getting along~"

Mihael had watched quietly as Caelen gave a demonstration of his powers, listened intently as Kat described her powers, and paid close attention to Desire as she demonstrated her gifts once more. With her pale skin and light hair, her ability to manipulate blood was almost like some form of artistic expression, the blood sharply contrasting the soft-looking appearance she kept. Needless to say, Mihael liked it. He liked it very much. "Well, it's nice to know that we've already got a nice motley crew going on here." He wasn't completely sold on Kat's powers being very useful to him... but if Caelan wanted to give her a shot, Mihael certainly was not about to say no. "Viva la resistance and all of that beautiful jazz."

He would grin at his companions before sitting up on the bed, only to transition onto his feet. "Now, I think I should lay low for a little while. Knowing my luck, Agatha will probably be looking for me or something. To be honest, I don't feel like looking at her. And that's saying something coming from me." He winked at his brother with a laugh only to be interrupted by a knock on the door. Completely contradicting what he had just said about laying low, he got to the door and opened it.

"Yo, can I... help... you...?" He was quite surprised at what he saw at the door. A girl. Just looking at her seemed to do something to him, something he couldn't explain. It was something beyond just seeing a pretty face. She seemed to possess an alien sort of beauty, one that was almost incomprehendable. He couldn't even begin describing it. He had lost his train of thought for a moment, and then somehow ended up completely ignoring the weird vibe he got from her. "Oh, please tell me I can help you."

Vinnie smiled as the door opened, and saw a boy around her age. "Oh, please tell me I can help you." He said, at first he had a weird look on his face, almost awestruck, butit was gone almost as soon as it appeared, "Hi! I'm Vinnie, but I go by Venom, and was hoping to meet a few people, since I am not the best at making friends.." She frowned slightly. She blew her bangs out of her eyes, and looked up at him, with her golden eyes,
"I didn't mean to bother you," She continued, biting her lip, worried he wouldn't want to chat with her. Her plans wouldn't work if she couldn't make friends, of course. She glanced over his shoulder quickly and saw a red headed girl, and someone that looked like the boy who had answered, so he had a twin? 'Interesting..' She thought and noted it.

"Venom? She trying to be a superhero already?"

"Venom, huh? Fitting. You're like some toxin in me already." Lines. Mihael was full of them and quick with them too. Looking at this girl seemed to pull a haze over his mind. He couldn't even remember the name of the girl he had been fawning over for the last few hours. He did not even realize that he was in the room with the other three anymore. Her golden eyes were similar in color to Mihael and his brother's. Not quite the same hue, but they seemed to shine even brighter. It was tantalizing, captivating, pulling him in with no breaks.

"Well, my little pretty, if you're looking for friends you have come to the right place. Look no further than Mihael McManus, at your service. I can be any and all friends you need." He stood in the doorframe as to not allow her to see into the room too much more than he already had. Because of that, she had only seen Kat and Caelan. Desire remained blocked by his tall figure. This was not intentional, but just circumstance. "And pretty girls are never a bother. I believe it fair to mention that you are a very pretty girl there, Venom."

"And pretty girls are never a bother. I believe it fair to mention that you are a very pretty girl there, Venom.", Vinnie blushed, he was a pretty good sweet talker. She was used to it though, usually alot of people were interested but not many had caught her attention like Mihael... Wait. Mihael McManus? Hadn't the headmaster mentioned someone by that name? She shrugged it off, it couldnt be him he seemed nice. "Thank you, It's very nice to meet you, Mihael" She said smiling at him. She leaned against the wall, waiting for him to invite her in.

It looked as though her question was answered once more, she could get used to this. Des put the metal plate next to her and then turned to face both Caelan and Kat, holding out her palms to them. There were interesting looking tattoos on them. "I'm not going to give you the whole spiel I gave Mihael, but basically these markings help me when I want to use my own blood." As she spoke a steady stream of blood ran down her arms, her eyes turned blood red and her irises thinned to slits like those on her hands. She then clenched her hands into fists and the blood became thicker, the sight was both stunning and disgusting. Suddenly the blood moved to her clenched fists and formed itself into the shapes of two daggers that remained floating over her hand after she opened it. The sight of both blood and a weapon pointed at her made her tense, she held her breath with both a hint of fear and adrenaline. If it weren't for the fact that the girls eyes moved to the dresser then Kat might have almost accidentally attacked her guest. Close call, she relaxed a little but still had her guard up. With a flick of her wrist Des sent the daggers through the air, both making a small thud as they dug into the wooden dresser before to a liquid state and floating back inside her body. "I can also control people through the use of their own blood, but unless any of you want to volunteer I won't demonstrate it." "Ok...that...was gross. Pretty and down right awesome but gross." The words had escaped her rosy lips before her mind registered them, making suddenly wave her hands in front of her and laugh chuckle awkwardly. She wasn't trying to insult the girl or anything. The girls eyes reverted to their original pink hue and she gave them a small smile before speaking. "N-not that you are gross or anything, which you aren't. You are actually very pretty!-" Her small rant was interrupted by prideful, wholehearted comments from Mihael. Somehow she was accepted into this group, although she still felt that Mihael was doubtful about her. It would have to suffice for now. He was saying something about laying low when a knock on the door got everyone's attention.

"Hi! I'm Vinnie, but I go by Venom, and was hoping to meet a few people, since I am not the best at making friends..I didn't mean to bother you." A female voice came through the door, a small girl was standing on the other side of Mihael. His mood suddenly shifted as he spoke with her, looking like the shameless flirt that his brother described for the first time. "Venom, huh? Fitting. You're like some toxin in me already. Well, my little pretty, if you're looking for friends you have come to the right place. Look no further than Mihael McManus, at your service. I can be any and all friends you need." The last part made her roll her eyes in disbelief, looking up at Caelan as and whispering to him in a low voice. " You weren't kidding about the shameless part...hold on a second...If hes really like that then why didn't...?" She had just come to a sudden realization that he hadn't flirted with her. Every other girl she had seen him interact with he had been all over but showed next to no interest about her. She glared at Mihaels back as her eyes turn into icy blue almost ghostly white eyes. "And pretty girls are never a bother. I believe it fair to mention that you are a very pretty girl there, Venom." Mihael had leaned against the door, letting Kat see the thin blush on the girls face as she continued to flirt back with him. By his last statement, did he mean to say that Kat wasn't pretty? Kat stood up towards the middle of the room, a thin layer of red covering the top of her cheeks, showing how ticked off she was at the moment. She wasn't about to ask for him to confirm or deny her thoughts, no. she was having her first jealous fit, one that she didn't even fully understand. She didn't feel attraction for the boy, no this was something a lot more primal...this was about pride. The girl leaned against the wall, as if half waiting for the boy to ask her in. What had this turned into a date? No. Kat had just enough of this. The air around her turned very cold, to the point little shards of ice started forming in the air around her and falling to the ground with tiny shattering sounds. Almost like falling glass. She shot one very dangerous look at Caelan as if saying, your brother has over stayed his welcome for the day.

" Ahem. I'm sorry. What did you say your name was? Vinnie? Yeah. Pleasure to meet you really. But, now is not a good time. You see, our friend was just leaving. But, knowing him I am sure he'd love to have you over in his room for a chat. She moved both her hands forward and caused two things to happen simultaneously. The first was a row of ice shards stuck in random patterns across the door frame and the second a thick gust of snow slammed into Mihaels ass. If it landed, the gust would have pushed him a few inches outside the room, not enough to hurt him but enough to give him shivers and hopefully knock some sense into him. Maybe she could freeze the flirt out of him. She wasn't being hostile, just hurt and defensive. It would have given the girl a chill, a possible scare from the shards and maybe gotten some snow on her clothes but it wouldn't have hurt her.

Caelan watched, eyes half open skeptically, as Desire revealed her palms to show Katherine and himself her tattoos. As the demonstration began, one eyebrow rose is mild curiosity as the blood ran down her arms. Hmm... theatrics. I can see why Mihael would've liked this part. As the daggers formed, Caelan's face changed from mild interest to genuine astonishment, particularly when the daggers hovered were she had left them. Always good to show the audience what they enjoy. As the blood returned to liquid form and flowed back into Desire, Caelan briefly and quietly applauded the show.

"I can also control people through the use of their own blood, but unless any of you want to volunteer I won't demonstrate it."

"I believe it. Nobody would really doubt the possibility of that, or the potential other tricks you could perform with that delightful power of yours. You will definitely make a valuable ally. And, I hope, a source of entertainment by making full-body puppet shows of those you're controlling. At least, I hope I can see something like that., Caelan replied, having thoroughly enjoyed the show. Now we've got a diverse group indeed. Under the cover of Mihael or I, we could certainly raise hell in this place, with nobody really being able to stop us.

"Well, it's nice to know that we've already got a nice motley crew going on here. Viva la resistance and all of that beautiful jazz. Now, I think I should lay low for a little while. Knowing my luck, Agatha will probably be looking for me or something. To be honest, I don't feel like looking at her. And that's saying something coming from me." Caelan rolled his eyes. For all the love and admiration he had for his brother, Mihael could certainly dramatize things a little too often. He did agree with his sentiment though. The group was growing, and with numbers came strength, power, and diversity. It'd make it easier and easier to meld skills together as they worked together, but for now it would do. Soon, we'll own this dump. Caelan opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by a knock at the door. Before he could see to it, Mihael leaped forward. Did he know who's room this was? His flash was admirable, but he really should be more careful about nonchalantly going into the unknown when the higher ups already viewed the two of them, particularly him, with disfavor. We may be strong brother, but I do wish you would exercise a bit of caution before leaping into the unknown so often.

"Yo, can I... help... you...?" A pause followed briefly before a rather hastily addition. "Oh, please tell me I can help you." Beyond Mihael's body blocking the door, Caelan could see yet another girl standing before his brother. It would a blatant lie to say he didn't find the girl attractive, if not drop-dead gorgeous, but there was an unsettling quality to her beauty. Something about her near-perfect looks made Caelan's hairs stand on end. While his brother's response was predictable at best, the nagging feeling about her beauty would not die so easily. He almost spoke up when the air in the room grew cold abruptly. Caelan looked to Katherine and was briefly taken aback by how furious and intimidating she looked. He stood to tell her to calm down before receiving a glare that chilled him with the icy outrage behind it. His mouth, partly open to make a remark, closed.

" Ahem. I'm sorry. What did you say your name was? Vinnie? Yeah. Pleasure to meet you really. But, now is not a good time. You see, our friend was just leaving. But, knowing him I am sure he'd love to have you over in his room for a chat."

A harsh icy gust shot from Katherine and hurled towards Mihael, while a few errant icicles shot towards the doorframe, solidly embedding themselves into the wood. Any ice shards that flew towards Mihael found themselves floating high or slamming into the ground, thanks to Caelan. Aside from that minor interference, he remained out of the situation, but smiled all the same. This should be fun. About time he finds out that his incessant flirting gets annoying. Maybe the chill will wake him up too, enough to see that there's something plainly wrong with that girl.
