Accessories: She has a long and thin black chain necklace with a silver locket. The outside of the locket is a soft silver white with an abstract design on it in the lightest blue, it almost looked like clouds raining snowflakes. The inside has a charm carved onto the metal in the shape of a single snowflake. The snowflake has tiny diamonds and sapphires in intricate combinations throughout the spaces in the design giving it a glittering almost 3D effect. She has two small silver cross earrings and a silver ring with another sapphire in the shape of a water drop on her right middle finger.

Likes: She likes animals especially birds and cats. She loves gems and antique objects or jewelry. She enjoys playing games like scavenger hunt or playing pranks. She is addicted to sweets especially white chocolate and caramel.

Dislikes: She is afraid of fire, butterflies and loosing control of her powers or her mind. She hates it when people look down on her or see her as weak because of her size or doll like appearance. She hates, really hates, being called short.

Personality: She can be stubborn when she feels passionate about something. She is slightly sarcastic at times but tends to turn awkwardly shy or bashful around guys if they get too close to her. She can be a slight airhead and very oblivious to things like feelings or her surroundings, her self awareness is lacking. She is a prideful firecracker with a short temper who is very impulsive and not afraid to make a stand if she is being treated unfairly, feels threatened or feels like she can prove herself.

Powers: Kat can manipulate the temperature of the moisture in the air or her immediate surroundings either crystallizing it into ice or boiling it into steam. Her naturally steel grey eyes change colors simultaneously with her powers turning icy blue almost white when using ice, deep yellow like amber when using steam and very dark sapphire blue almost black when she makes water. Sometimes she can unconsciously change the temperature in the room when her mood changes. In dry atmosphere she can redirect the moisture in her body to her hands and expel it as either shards of ice, patches or gusts of snow, sprays of water or bursts of steam in small quantities. `

When using the water in he own body she can recycle the ice, water or snow she has already formed and re shape it or re absorb it as she sees fit. This is only possible if she makes direct physical contact with it. Due to this restriction she can't re absorb water that has been turned into steam unless she transforms it into another substance before touching it. When using moisture outside her body she can mold larger quantities into more flexible shapes compared to the small quantities inside her. If when using heat to make steam she quickly switches to cooling it then it can form a light or thick fog depending on the amount of water used. This is only possible if she uses both hands simultaneously. If she applies this same method to individual hands, meaning using heat on one hand and cold on the other she can make the humidity reach a stable temperature and turn it into solid water.

Generally water expands but remains at a constant weight when it's cold so she needs to use less water when making ice but steam separates so for a truly effective temperature change she needs larger amounts of humidity. When using outside moisture she runs a small risk of accidentally cutting herself with the ice if she looses control or burning herself with the steam for the same reason. When using moisture from inside her body she runs a high risk of dehydration especially if she can't get the water back to her body quickly. If she get's to the point of not being able to find a point to release the powers or she switches too rapidly from one to the other then she suffers from either high fevers or chills bordering on hypothermia depending on which power she used last. When using steam, even from an outside source, her core temperature rises rapidly and like wise using ice makes her inner temperature drop dramatically. Because of this she needs to constantly be drinking water to stabilize. Her powers are strongly linked to her emotions and can potentially activate on their own if she feels a strong enough sudden change in emotions like rage, panic or shock.

History:
Kat was the result of a fling between Elizabeth Cardin, a High class socialite and aspiring actress, and Keith Silverleaf, a successful Lawyer making a name for himself. Neither of them wanted the publicity of a child when they weren't married and both agreed that their careers came before an unplanned mistake. So they kept her birth a secret to avoid a scandal by having Elizabeth fake an illness during the pregnancy. Once Katherine Silverleaf Cardin was born she was sent to one of the private homes owned by her mother on a remote part of Nevada. There she was raised by several maids and butlers until she was five years old. By this age she started having serious tantrums because she wanted to be with her parents. The only contact she had with them was by watching them on t.v., the news or the occasional gift in the mail to try and calm her down. At first it worked but she quickly grew tired of the attempts and started lashing out at the maids and the butlers a like by ripping her toys and clothes. This made her otherwise uninterested mother take action, if anything she was highly vain about her belongings and it made her angry that a burden such as an unwanted child was disrupting her collection. Her solution was to send Kat to a foster home and shove her out of her life. One of the butlers knew someone that owned such a place in Grand Forks, North Dakota and volunteered to take her there.

For the next decade she was forced to live with eight other children. All of them were boys one to three years older than her. At first she was very cheerful, curious, full of warmth and life; excited to have friends to play with but by the time she turned 8 she had become a very different little girl. Every one of her new sibling treated her like the black sheep of the house; an interesting pet to tease on. Sometimes they pretended she was a ghost and acted as if she didn't exist for weeks on end, other times they would lock her outside for hours at a time or try to cut her hair and wear it as a fake mustache. The owners didn't care what happened to her as long as her mother sent them fat paychecks every month to keep Kat's identity hidden. Other than the paychecks there was the occasional random jewelry in the mail. Turns out that the butler who brought her here constantly stole her mothers jewelry and sent it to his lover, the supposed friend and owner of the home, as gifts. At first she felt angry that her moms things were being taken, then she felt happy that she was getting what she deserved and finally she felt sad that those were the only things that connected her to her biological mother. A mother that never once wanted her.

One day, after she had turned fourteen, an incident occurred. The boys had tied her to the bottom of the Christmas tree and started throwing snowballs at her. By the time they got bored and went outside to play in the snow she was soaking wet and shivering. She stared at her reflection in a small puddle in front of her, her expression one of deep thought. Her parents thought she was a bothersome mistake, the owners of the house saw her as a steady flow of cash, the boys saw her as a bug they could step on whenever they wanted and she didn't have a single friend. She started crying quietly in frustration at her life, her tears making tiny ripple in the puddle. Her sadness grew into anger. Anger at her dad for ignoring her existence, at her mother for throwing her away, at the owner for exploiting her, at the boys for treating her like a pest and at life for being so cruel to her. The air around her started feeling warm then hot as if the puddles were evaporating into steam. The humidity in the air caused the Christmas lights to short out and some of the bulbs exploded, setting the branches on fire.

She didn't feel the heat from the fire because the air was already hot, it wasn't until the bright color of the growing flames caught her eye in what remained of the puddles that she realized what was going on. She struggled to break free of the rope but it was wet and just stuck together. The branches quickly set a blaze like wildfire and hot clumps of burnt leaves started falling around her, stinging the exposed skin they landed on and setting the dry parts of the rug on fire. She began to panic, tugging at the ropes again with tears rolling down her cheeks. Then she screamed at the top of her lungs for help. No one responded at first. The boys assumed she just wanted to get untied so they ignored her but when black smoke started creeping out the windows and the door they rushed inside. The couch had caught fire now, the plush velvet igniting almost instantly into a blazing ball of heat. She went quiet and still, her eyes wide open and locked on the scorching couch in front of her. The only reason she wasn't lighting up along with it was that she was still damp from the earlier torture, but that water was quickly evaporating with the rising temperature. Even so, she felt cold and numb as if the air around her was getting colder instead of hotter. At that moment the owner came down stairs in a state of panic, she yelled at the boys to start throwing snow inside to put it out and went to get the water hose; completely ignoring the fact Kat was in the middle of the inferno.

The younger boys stayed outside because they were too afraid but started making snowballs as fast as they could and passed them to the older boys who started throwing them inside. No matter how many they threw, the snow would evaporate before it hit the floor. It was the water from the hose that started making progress, some of it collected on the burnt rug next to Kat, jolting her from her shocked daze. She shut her eyes and whispered in an almost broken voice "Someone...please....make it stop." At that moment the windows cracked from the heat and she screamed stop so loud it made her throat hurt. A gust of cold air burst around the room like a tornado, putting out the fire and freezing everything around her. The tree, the couch, the rug and the stream of water bursting out of the house all turned into still crystallized pieces of art. The woman and the kids all dropped to the floor, too stunned to react. Time seemed to stop. Kat opened her eyes and saw glittering ice everywhere, even the fire had frozen in wave like shapes, before collapsing.

So begins...

"Don't be a stranger, come in and sit down. So, Venom, we're all here because we have special abilities, tell us what's your power?"

Desire’s sudden extended invitation to Venom caught Caelan off guard. It’s not like the room was hers, but he refrained from speaking for the sake of social pleasantness. It would be nice if she’d ask first, at least. Guess the planning is over now. He crossed his arms almost sulkily and sat, watching the two interact. He did note a strange twitch in Desire’s face as she looked back after driving Mihael into the bed. So. I’m not the only one who’s bothered by Venom. What did she do to Mihael? Not to mention that he didn’t openly just flirt with Katherine too. Theories whirled around his mind, but nothing conclusive came to the forefront of his brain. Perhaps the matter could be cleared up more with his usual meditation routine.

Mentally making a note to think on the matter further, Caelan glanced at Katherine. His pupils briefly dilated as her eyes changed colors with the regularity of a spinning kaleidoscope. The entire process was fascinating, haunting, and intriguing. It was the first time he actually connected her powers to her emotions and her eye color as well. Is she even aware of that?, he wondered. He decided to ask about it later, once the current situation had blown over. Which, he hoped, would happen soon. His inner musings were interrupted by Katherine’s now familiar voice breaking through.

”" You have to teach me that zen thing you were doing earlier...I think I could really use it.”

”Hmm? Oh. That. Sure. I’ll teach you sometime soon, I’m going to need it eventually here in a few.

He turned his attention back to Venom, who continued to stand in the doorway. “I… Can talk to animals.” The hesitation in her voice immediately raised Caelan’s suspicions. Shyness or no, saying something about themselves that would be as obvious as their hair color should be something easily told. She was lying, but he couldn’t prove it. He opened his mouth to speak again when another voice cut through the air. ”Excuse me, did I hear you say you can talk to animals? I hope none of y’all mind a Pitbull in here, she won’t bite.” That was it.

”Nope! I’m done! Too many people in this goddamned room, I need to think. Don’t touch anything when you leave, or you’ll be paste when I find you!”, he shouted. Enough was enough, he couldn’t take it anymore. He grabbed Katherine’s wrist and dragged her out of the room with him. After rudely shoving his way past Judy, he slammed the door behind Katherine and headed off vaguely in the direction of the cafeteria, grinding his teeth. After a few moments of furious walking, he stopped and turned to Katherine. ”Sorry. But I need to meditate. So I’ll teach you while I’m practicing it myself. I can’t take that stuff after too long. Y’know?”

Ty continued to wonder around the dorm halls, until he started to get hungry. On his way to the cafeteria he saw some white haired guy dragging some redheaded girl along. Ty gave them a bit of a strange look, but he doubt they noticed him. Ty followed behind them at a distance but close enough to be within earshot. He over heard the guy say something about meditation and teaching.
"Sup? Name's Ty." Ty greeted the two as he blew a big puff of smoke from his cigarette. "I couldn't help but over hear something about meditation and teaching. Do one of you need help controlling your power? I might not be extremely skilled with my thing, but if you need some help I do have a few tips and tricks." Ty said. "Especially if your powers are affected by anger."

”Hmm? Oh. That. Sure. I’ll teach you sometime soon, I’m going to need it eventually here in a few. Caelan had looked back at her with a reply, letting her know that she wasn't the only one on edge with the current events unfolding before them. She was starting to feel a little claustrophobic in the room, as if it were getting hard to breath. Was it really the amount of people walking in or was that her fever getting worse. She ignored it as best she could. The girl with the unsettling pretty looks spoke up with an answer to Desires question. Thankfully she hadn't moved or walked into the room, regardless of Desire welcoming her into a room that wasn't hers. That seemed to be turning into a trend apparently. Kat had a feeling no one really remembered whose room they were currently in. She would have to set some very very VERY solid ground rules the next time people came over. Her future plans were pushed aside as Venom spoke in a hesitant manner. "I...Can talk to animals." Now that was a power that did not match it's owner and that was a voice that did not match her previously confident persona. Her looks didn't say animal lover but then again non of the people in this room had any physical evidence of what they were capable of. She knew for a fact that she didn't look intimidating, to some she might even look delicate like a doll. A doll with a hell of a temper and a big mouth, but a pretty doll nonetheless. Still, something was very off about this girl.

Before more thought could be put into it...yet another person peeked their head out of the corner of the door.
"Excuse me, did I hear you say you can talk to animals?. I hope non of ya'll mind a Pitbull in here, she won't bite." Another girl just walked right into their room followed by a small dog. Seriously? Kat didn't know if sighing and collapsing on he bed or raging at everyone to get the hell out would matter. Somehow both sounded useless in an attempt to make a difference right now. Either way she had enough of it and was about to comment on the rudeness of it all but Caelan beat her to it. Would she ever get to say something without an interruption today? ”Nope! I’m done! Too many people in this goddamned room, I need to think. Don’t touch anything when you leave, or you’ll be paste when I find you!” Surprisingly, she didn't mind this one interruption because he basically said exactly what she was about to say. Then he did something she was not expecting at all. He grabbed her wrist and half dragged half pulled her tiny self out of the room. They bulldozed through the two girls near the door, shoving the newest girl to the side on their way out. Kat was too stunned to say anything, he looked as annoyed as she felt a few seconds ago. He was even grinding his teeth as they walked, somehow she found that kind of cute in a way a kid with a tantrum and pouty face would be cute. He kept dragging her along and her already dehydrated self started feeling a little short of breath at the speed they were going, the fever clearly having an effect on that. After a few more moments of walking he stopped. She sighed in relief, glad for the pause in movement. She wasn't out of shape but her body felt like she just ran a marathon, she tried to not how it as best she could not wanting to seem weak.

”Sorry. But I need to meditate. So I’ll teach you while I’m practicing it myself. I can’t take that stuff after too long. Y’know?” She looked up at him with a slightly pink flush on her face from the fever. Small breathless pants escaping her rosy lips. She swallowed, trying to catch her breath. Once she did she looked to the side and spoke up." It's fine. I wanted to get out of there anyway. Way too crowded. Seriously what is with them...acting like they own the plac-...." She paused for a moment. An alarming thought occurring to her. She opened her eyes wide as if genuinely concerned and spoke in a soft voice. "You...aren't going to make me float like you were right?...." She tugged on the edge of her dress and pulled it down, her face getting even more red at the thought of him peeking at her dress. Her arm trembled in embarrassed rage, about to move to slap him when someone came up behind her from out of nowhere and spoke. "Sup? Name's Ty. I couldn't help but over hear something about meditation and teaching. I might not be extremely skilled with my thing, but if you need some help I do have a few tips and tricks to help. Especially if your powers are affected by anger." Her immediate reaction was to turn around and slap the guy right in the face, half from the motion she had started to slap Caelan out of pure embarrassment and half from the sudden scare that the guy gave her by suddenly showing up out of nowhere. Seriously who sneaks up on people like that. She took a step back as a reflex to get away from the thing that spooked her and ended up bumping into Caelan.

"It's fine. I wanted to get out of there anyway. Way too crowded. Seriously what is with them...acting like they own the plac-.... Kat paused for a moment, as if she were thinking of something. "You...aren't going to make me float like you were right?...." Suddenly, without warning, Katherine turned a bright crimson and tugged at her dress. Had it not been for the dangerous flash to her eyes, he would've she looked very attractive, and cute. Her hand shot up towards him, and his jaw reflexively clenched in anticipation for the blow, when a voice ravaged by years of cigarette smoking, interrupted the moment they were having.

"Sup? Name's Ty. I couldn't help but over hear something about meditation and teaching. I might not be extremely skilled with my thing, but if you need some help I do have a few tips and tricks to help. Especially if your powers are affected by anger."

A sharp crack seemed to almost echo through the hall as Kat slapped the random kid who identified himself as Ty. Caelan took the boy's brief moment of distraction to grab Kat's hand once again and continued their journey to the cafeteria. Before leaving Ty, Caelan created a five foot gravity well around him, which would dissipate after 10 minutes. The well magnified the gravity around itself for a two foot larger radius to six times Earth's normal gravitational force, essentially locking him in place until the well timed out. When they'd reached an unoccupied area near the cafeteria, Caelan released Katherine's hand and looked her in the eye, getting closer to help drive the point home.

"I wouldn't do that unless you specifically asked me to do that. Do you think I'm that tactless? That's something Mihael would do. Are you okay? You're looking... ill. Do you need to sit down? If we're going to take down this place, you need to get this under control. We'll work on that, okay? Partners?"

Caelan stood back from Katherine and extended his hand. He'd hoped she wouldn't think of him as some kind of pervert again. he had his own standards and reputation to uphold, after all.

Ty was shocked that the girl's first reaction to him was a slap to the face that knocked the cigarette out of his mouth. Before he could even react the guy pulled her away and created some kind of a thing that kept Ty in place. Ty struggled desperately to move, but no luck.
"What the hell!?" Ty yelled out as they walked away. "You assholes!" Ty continued to yell out insults at them until finally he was able to move. Ty quickly ran after them. "Hey ass hats! What the hell was that for!?" Ty yelled as he searched for them.

She blinked in surprise at the sequence of events. Her grey eyes widening as she realized what had happened, that the thing that startled her was a boy. She had unintentionally, accidentally just slapped a random stranger in the face. Well shit. That is so not what I was aiming at. Before she could decide if the incident warranted an apology she was once again pulled away by her roommate towards the cafeteria. The warmth of his hand around hers making her tense a little but not in a bad way. For some reason, probably Caelan's doing, the victim didn't pursue them. The poor guy did however look mildly startled and confused. That expression didn't lat and turned into pure outrage and anger as they turned the corner. She could still hear him screaming insults at them and telling them to stop. Had they just made an enemy? hopefully the events could be talked out and reasoned, unless the guy was unreasonable. Then it would probably lead to a fight, one that she would defend herself in. She was not a pushover and she would not let someone outclass her especially in front of her new ally. When they reached an empty area near the cafeteria, or what she assumed was the cafeteria from what she could see inside from where she was standing, they stopped. Caelan let her hand go and looked at her straight in the eyes, it made her swallow hard half expecting him to yell at her about almost slapping him earlier or something. Instead he got really close, closer than she had ever been to a guy before. "I wouldn't do that unless you specifically asked me to do that. Do you think I'm that tactless? That's something Mihael would do." She could feel the heat coming off his body as he spoke with such determination, his golden eyes locked on her grey ones during every word. She forgot to breath for a moment, it must have made her face an extra dark shade of red because his expression changed to one of concern. "Are you okay? You're looking... ill. Do you need to sit down?"She wasn't about to tell him she had a high fever because of her outburst. It was embarrassing enough that she lost control, there was no way she was going to ask for help. As if guessing her thoughts yet again he spoke.

"If we're going to take down this place, you need to get this under control. We'll work on that, okay? Partners?" He knew she had lost control and didn't look down on her? He wanted to be Partners? She couldn't believe what she was hearing. The boy took a step back, allowing her to start breathing once more, and extended his hand to her in a token of respect for the partnership. She stared at his hand for a good ten seconds before looking up at his eyes. " You want me to be your partner?...Your going to help me get better at controlling my powers?....You would do that?...." She looked back down at his hand, really contemplating it for a moment. This is what she had wanted, what she had been thinking about earlier but she would have never imagined that he would have willingly offered his help. She thought she would have had to spend time training herself to prove her worth, to prove she was worth helping and had enough potential to be useful. So how did she end up in this situation with such a powerful ally in front of her. She wasn't going to keep questioning it a moment longer. She took his hand with hers, hers being a little warmer than it should be but she didn't think about him noticing while thinking about everything else. "I believe you. Especially when you say you are NOT your brother. So....Ok. Partners."

She quickly let go of his hand and looked to the side, the concerned expression on his face making her feel guilty about not mentioning how her powers had side effects that were making her ill at the moment. She spoke in a low voice and tried to seem as if she were perfectly fine." I'm fine...I am just a little thirsty that's all. I haven't eaten anything either. I'm sure if we just get some food I will be ok." The statement was only half a lie, she really did think food and especially water would help her, but she was far from ok. She forced a small smile on her lips and started walking towards the inside of the cafeteria, her vision a little blurry.

Katherine stared at his hand, making Caelan re-think his proposition and his method of delivery. Had he overstepped himself? Did I freak her out? What exactly happened with her powers? He watched her, wondering what she'd say. After a brief moment, she finally answered him, partially.

"You want me to be your partner?...Your going to help me get better at controlling my powers?....You would do that?...." She stopped talking again for the briefest of moments, staring at his hand as if she'd never before seen a hand before. Although he typically didn't help those out of sheer kindness, Caelan felt almost obligated to help her, both out of a desire to have a stronger ally, and for some other reason he couldn't quite pin down. Kindness? No. Not him. Attraction? Possibly. Was it really that? He certainly hoped it wasn't solely that, he'd be no better than his brother if that were the case. As much as Caelan loved his brother, he grew tired of his habit of chasing after girls, pretty ones to boot.

His inner musins were interrupted by Kat grabbing his hand and shaking it, sealing their deal. "I believe you. Especially when you say you are NOT your brother. So....Ok. Partners." The heat from her handshake seemed to stick to his hand and flow into his face. Time seemed to slow during their handshake, almost as if Mihael lurked around the corner and was playing with the time stream to mess with the moment. Caelan's eyes looked behind Kat, looking for his brother. With no sign of Mihael, Caelan's mind returned to his brief moment of contact with Kat. When he realized that Kat had let go, he dropped his hand to his side and cleared his throat. He fervently hoped she wouldn't notice how awkwardly he was taking the situation.

"I'm fine...I am just a little thirsty that's all. I haven't eaten anything either. I'm sure if we just get some food I will be ok."

"Yeah. That sounds like a good idea. Just find a seat somewhere in there, I'll bring you whatever they're serving. Probably won't be good, this mass produced garbage never is, but it's something. Just relax. Don't push yourself, or it'll make it incredibly easy to fall asleep during meditation. I know. I've done it before."

Caelan opened the doors to the cafeteria, now empty save for the workers and two guards. The guards bristled at the sight of Caelan, making him smirk. Yes. You know us. Don't take us lightly. You'll know what we're capable off soon enough. At the counter, he caught a glimpse of the kitchen where an older cafeteria worker sat on a table, rubbing her head and talking with coworkers, obviously disturbed. More of Mihael's work? Undoubtedly. Caelan let out a brief chuckle as he retrieved two trays of... something.. and two bottles of water before returning to Kat. He placed her tray and both bottles in front of her, briefly gesturing at them before taking a seat across the table from her and digging into his own food.

"Go on, eat up. Recover, then we can begin some meditative training."

Relieved that she wasnt going to be left alone in the unfamiliar place Allison grabbed a tray, adding random different things, and sat down next to Maya. She scanned the room, seeing that a few new people had entered as they had settled into their spots. There was a girl with the most amazing red hair Allison had ever seen in her life, who sat next to a boy who seemed like he knew something he shouldn't. They were a few tables away from the two girls. In line she had been behind a group that had consisted of four guys who seemed to already be fairly close. It was nice that people were already beginning to be friends on the first day. At least I hope it is the first day, I am not for sure about that.

As Maya continued to talk she looked down at her tray, finding many of the things on there to be fairly plain compared to what she ate at home. Then again most things seem plain when you but them side-by-side to some kind of animals cooked liver. She smiled at Maya's comment as she removed her mask to eat, glad that someone had the same idea she did. She set the thing beside her on the table and tucked in to eat. Looking around often but trying to show Maya that she was in fact listening to her and to please continue to speak.

Maya began eating, this time to paying attention to what was on her plate, as the girl sat down beside her. Allison was quiet but friendly and Maya felt free to talk on. She also noticed the people coming in caught the interest of her new friend. She decided to try tell her about them as much as she knew.

“Interesting people right? I’ve seen most of them although I don’t really know their names. Three of those guys there were at my door today talking to my roommate. I’m pretty sure the fourth one must be the cat then. They seem like a nice group of people.”

She pointed to the group of boys and then looked towards the girl in red hair and her companion.

“I don’t know anything about the girl other than she’s very pretty. I’m sure I’ve seen the guy here before. He confronted the headmaster. Although he seems a bit different now. He was with a different girl too.”

She did her best to familiarize Allison with the place even if she herself didn’t know too much.

“This academy is a lively place for sure. So many new and unusual people to meet. There’s no way to be bored around here. And I believe the best thing is we all have something in common.”

Caelans face seemed to want to try to pay homage her hair or at least imitate her own face, turning a soft shade of red. It was the first time she had ever seen a guy blush. She thought to herself. Don't guys that are slightly tanned need to blush really badly for it to show through? Does that mean he was blushing a lot because of something I did or does he have a fever too?... Are fevers contagious?... She would be worried it it weren't for the fact that she partially thought she was hallucinating the event. She could be asleep right now for all she knew with all the crazy powers people have in this place. Still she couldn't deny that the light blush gave him an almost adorable look. His white hair, tanned skin and golden eyes were fierce and intimidating on a normal situation, making him attractive in a dangerous way. The blush however, softened his features. She could almost say he looked....cute. If that was even possible for someone who could turn others into a tiny squished square without blinking an eye. There was no doubt he was dangerous especially with that outburst he had in the room, she could still remember that skin crawling evil look on his face. She was very relieved to not only be on his side but be partners too. Does this mean I just made my first friend here? My first real friend ...ever? Even after she had let go his hand hovered in the air between them as if too stunned at her answer to react. Was he expecting her to refuse such an offer? No, he looked distracted as if thinking really hard about something. When he finally realized she had let go he moved his hand down and cleared his throat awkwardly. The whole scene was so strange, hadn't he been the one to make the offer? It made her chuckle softly and feel a little relieved that there was someone other than her who had awkward social moments. It was almost endearing. Wait. Why was she saying such things about him? She shook her head and tried to push the strange thoughts away. Was this normal thoughts someone had when you made a friend?

"Yeah. That sounds like a good idea. Just find a seat somewhere in there, I'll bring you whatever they're serving. Probably won't be good, this mass produced garbage never is, but it's something. Just relax. Don't push yourself, or it'll make it incredibly easy to fall asleep during meditation. I know. I've done it before." Her new found friend and partner turned around and opened the cafeteria doors. At first glance the place looked empty except for a few workers behind the food tables but there were others among the scattered tables. For some reason the air in the room seemed to thicken with nervous tension when they walked in, the adults staring at Caelan nervously or glaring. Had something happened for them to be so up tight? They were just going to get some food. Grownups were so weird sometimes. His only reaction was to smirk, classic him she was starting to find out. There was an older cafeteria woman sitting at a tale, she looked a little freaked out and very confused. She was waving her hads around as if trying to explain something to the officers with bewildered expressions. Whatever she was saying made no sense apparently and the officers faces said that they didn't buy her story, they were looking at her almost as if she were loosing her mind. KAt almost felt sorry for her but that's when it hit her. "Mihaels handiwork right?" The question was out of her mouth before she eve knew she was speaking but there was no one to hear them. Caelans had kept moving to get some food and she had slowed her pace so much while staring at the woman that she was now standing alone in the middle of the room. She quickly moved to sit at the nearest table, sighing in embarrassment. Damn, she was so distracted right now. As soon as her soft exposed skin touched the seat she cringed. The cold feel of the metal chair on her thighs almost stung in contrast to her current body temperature. Why does everything feel so much colder when you had a fever, it is so annoying. She stood a lil and moved her jacket under her legs to keep them from actually touching the seat, noticing for the first time that someone had been looking at her.

Image

Her steel grey eyes scanned the room for the first time, locating two girls a few tables down. One of them had short blond hair and the other long white hair that reminded Kat a little too much of Desires hair at the moment so she looked away as to not get mad from the events that occurred moments ago. Her eyes kept moving and found four guys a few tables away in the opposite direction. They were an interesting bunch. One had short blond hair and was being very animated, the other looked very quiet with shorter black hair, the one on his other side had spiky hair and looked slightly intimidating. Her eyes lingered on the fourth guy, a sort of bleached out version of the twins with similar white hair and yellowish eyes. She couldn't hear anything they were saying but they seemed to be a friendly enough conversation. It was such a different atmosphere from the conversation in her room, even during introductions there had been tension among them. She wondered how many more people where here and what strange powers they might have. She had met Caelan with his powers over gravity, Mihael whom could supposedly mess with time around and object even if she had yet to witness it, Desire who could control her blood or other peoples blood, Judy who could apparently talk to animals and then there was Venom who also claimed she could speak to animals but Kat wasn't buying it. She wondered how that conversation ended and if any revelation had occurred. She was bound to find out sooner or later. The soft sound of metal on metal made her look back at her own table, her face brightening a little as she saw Caelan had returned. Now, whether that happiness was form the fact he was back or the fact he had water with him would forever be a mystery. She quickly grabbed a bottle and chugged almost half of it down in a huge gulp, sighing in happiness as she felt the water cool down her throat. She instinctively pressed the cool water against he head, forgetting for a moment she was hiding the fact she had a fever. She didn't care, it felt too nice against her skin. A few drops of water that had been on the outside of the bottle stuck to her face, making a few strands of hair stick to her face as well even after she had put the bottle back down on the table."Thank you Caelan." She looked at him adoringly, just because she was blissfully happy for water and still slightly dizzy. She probably looked like a shy, blushing little kid right now to anyone that might be looking. Pretty much the same effect that her being mad had, at least until her eyes went rage crazy and made people take a step back in either surprise or actual fear. Right now though, that was not the case.

She looked down at the tray of unidentifiable food curiously. Poking it with her fork and watching it slide to the side. She looked up at him in pure amazement as he bravely and almost casually shoved bites of it into his mouth, chewed and swallowed. He was either the bravest person she had ever met or the craziest. Both were very plausible when you considered the fact it was him were were talking about. She took a deep breath, not wanting to fall behind and dug her fork into the tray, picking up a decent sized scoop. She closed her eyes and bit into it. It was not as bad as it looked. It was nowhere near good or even tasty but it didn't make her want to spit it back out. Hopefully it didn't have delayed effects. She sighed and looked up at him again, this time speaking up. "I'm sorry I attacked your brother. She was pretty sure she was the only person stupid enough to do that, so hopefully it earned her a few bravery points but she still felt she need to apologize. He had been a guest in the room, and trying to impale your guests is not very polite. "Even if he was being a total ass and...a jerk. She said the last work as if offended. It surprised her that the fact that he had flirted with everyone but her bothered her so much, she shouldn't really care it's not like she liked him or anything. Somehow the fact still poked at her as if it meant she was just not flirt material. Was she not attractive enough for someone that seemed to hit on everything with boobs and a heartbeat? She pouted slightly as she took a sip of water, stuck on the thought.

Ty was almost boiling over with anger went he reached the cafeteria. Before he entered the cafeteria he took a deep breath, and started humming Stairway to Heaven for a good minute, it helps relax him. Ty entered, and scanned the room until he saw the girl who slapped him and the guy she was with.
Ty calmly walked up to them, this time making sure he was out of arm's reach. "Alright first things first sweetheart." Ty said as he looked squarely in the girl's eyes. "What the hell? Was your dog killed by a greeting or something?" Ty continued. "Second, sorry. I can understand if you're on edge, we're not exactly in the most relaxing situation. I didn't mean to scare you, where I'm from I had to learn to keep my footsteps quiet, it's a habit." Ty then pulled out a fresh cigarette.
"And third, what do you say we just forget about? We're all sitting on a powder keg, and Big Brother's just waiting for it to blow. Being at each others throats isn't going to help anyone. So what do you say friends? Or at least tolerant acquaintances?" Ty asked as he put the cigarette in his mouth. "Oh, any of you want a smoke?" Ty then created a fireball in the palm of his hand and lite his cigarette with it.

Anger overtook Judy as she was pushed, sensing her anger, Panther started growling and barking. "Come Panther, they obviously are part of some big orgey and want us gone." she said as she left the room, slamming the door behind her. Making her way to her own room, Panther's tail low, his ears back and his eyes narrowed. "It's fine Panther" she said calmly.

But you didn't make a friend today she whimpered.

"Yes I did, remember, the pyro?" she said and collapsed onto her bed as she left the bedroom door open. With a sigh, Judy got under the covers, pulling the sheet up to her chin, she fell asleep. Panther still mad, sat right outside her door, growling at anyone who walks nearby.

After Allison stared at her food, making sure that it was now cold, she began to eat. The food itself was more mushy than it had first looked, but the taste was bearable and could use a lot more spice. She listened at Maya animatedly talked about the other students in the Mess Hall, seeing that many she at least knew in appearance. That was good since Allison had no inclination of trying to learn who they are by talking to them directly, that would mean being near other people and she did not believe she could keep her cool very long. She didn't like being in any kind of crowd and when she was, Allison would start relying on her gift to get her out of it as fast as possible. Riots were a thing that could happen, and they are not safe.

She blew softly on her food just to make sure it was cold, making a pained face when she saw a boy make a fireball in his hand. It was hot enough in the place already without the added heat it gave off. How he could stand it she didnt know but, she was sure she was going to stay as far away from him as possible. You like to know people? I can stay here if you would like to catch up with them.

"Thank you Caelan." Kathering favored Caelan with a strange look he'd not seen before in his direction, but had quite often seen Mihael receive. He felt a bit of heat in his own face, and lowered his head hastily to begin his meal, hoping she wouldn't notice. A brief moment of silence made the gap between them seem to stretch into eternity, but Kat continued to talk much to Caelan's relief. "I'm sorry I attacked your brother. Even if he was being a total ass and...a jerk." Caelan choked on a bite of... something... and began to splutter, cough, and laugh simultaneously. Once he'd calmed down, he managed to gather enough breath to respond. "Well, don't apologize. I'm his brother after all. He," A small cough interrupted his thought. " He's my brother, after all. I've gotten onto him about his attitudes time and time again. He usually gets me back in some way, but it's nice to see someone else can't stand his nonsense any more than I can. It's refreshing. I'm sure he won't get too mad at you like he would at me, he can't stay mad at pretty girls." He helped himself to a few more bites of the "food" and began anew. "If he's still raw later, I'll try to defuse it, I suppose. Now. About meditation. If you want later, I can float you with me, but we'll not do that now. Not while you're dressed like that. So, first thing's first-"

The cafeteria doors were knocked wide open and the irritating smoker from before once again "graced" them with his presence. He seemed mildly irritated, but also in control of himself. Admirable, but unneeded. Is this hothead dense or something?

"Alright first things first sweetheart. What the hell? Was your dog killed by a greeting or something? Second, sorry. I can understand if you're on edge, we're not exactly in the most relaxing situation. I didn't mean to scare you, where I'm from I had to learn to keep my footsteps quiet, it's a habit. And third, what do you say we just forget about? We're all sitting on a powder keg, and Big Brother's just waiting for it to blow. Being at each others throats isn't going to help anyone. So what do you say friends? Or at least tolerant acquaintances?" The strange irritation that further added to Caelan's headache pulled out a fresh cigarette and lit it with a small fireball that appeared in the middle of his hand. Caelan rolled his eyes at the parlor trick. Pyrokinetics. He'd seen them before, and every single one of them had been an insufferable blowhard with a massively inflated ego. Every single one had found their bones shattered, because they had crossed a line Caelan preferred to not cross. Only Mihael had brought him out of the ensuing rage, and Mihael wasn't around right now.

Caelan, with an almost forced calmness, finished his meal to eat the pathetic meal in the tray. He swallowed, almost regretting eating the meal, and pointed the fork at Ty. "Now, friend, I don't think you understood the exact point I was trying to make with you when we left you in your time-out-corner back in the hallway. We don't want company right now. We aren't seeking company right now. We're working, right now, as roommates, together towards a common goal that you are not a part of. He stood, fork in hand at his side. "You're a pyrokinetic. Great. You're a dime-a-dozen. You all think you're such hot stuff. I don't want people like you as a friend. I'd rather not even be an acquainted with you, were it not for the fact that we're both stuck in this place. I don't know you, and I already don't like you. If you really want to be seen as something, do something impressive against the system. Otherwise, scatter. I've no use for someone like you." As Caelan spoke, his eyes narrowed and his hair began to move about as his temper began to take hold of his powers. Nearby tables began to creak as the gravity fluctuated, while he tried to maintain control enough to shield Katherine from whatever happened. Enough irritations had taken place today. The breaking point approached, and Mihael was nowhere to be found. Caelan's mind worked to try and calm himself down, hoping Mihael would miraculously walk through the doors for some reason before things got out of hand.

Ty studied the guy's face and could tell he was about to erupt. He knew this guy was strong, he had some kind of telekinetic-like power. Ty was about ready to leave but then the guy started giving him orders, well now he has to poke the bear. "Wow, you think I need to prove something to you? That's adorable. Seriously that's like a puppy in a sweater and a baby panda level of cute." Ty said with a chuckle.
Ty looked around and he could hear the tables creak. "And you want something impressive? How about controlling my powers for one. Seems like you need a lesson or two on that, buddy."
"For future reference, don't tell me what to do. It never ends well. Ever. But like I said, us being at each other's throats ain't helping anyone." Ty said as he turned his back on them. "Opening a can of whoop-ass all over you is just a waste of my time and energy." Ty then calmly walked towards the cafeteria's exit to head back to his room.

Marshall had noticed the guy with the fire powers come into the mess hall and start making a scene with another group that had managed to pull themselves together. There was something that he didn’t like about most of that group, they reminded him of the people had jaded him to the point of social death in his old school. He got a particularly bad vibe from the white haired guy who was far too well dressed for a place like this, he had snob written all over him. There was a point when he stood up and started monologing about not wanting to make friends with the guy. “None are so rich as to throw away a friend.” he thought to himself. It made him angry to know that there were people out there who would just toss others aside if they didn’t live up to what ever unrealistic standards they had for others to be “worthy” of friendship.

He noticed the guy’s hair started to move about on it’s own. He’d seen enough cartoons to know this was never a good sign. Then the tables and chairs started creaking and he felt his chair levitate a little. He discretely used his own telekinesis to hold his chair, the table and the chairs of his friends in place, without any of them noticing, while the guy’s temper started to boil. He was just a little proud of himself for being able to keep his mouth shut in spite of being angry, not that it would have done any good to say anything anyway, that guy was the type that would never noticed him even if he were yelling in his face.

Utrien looked up as the sound of groaning tables reached his ear. It would have attracted his attention nevertheless when the door knocked against the wall from Ty's entrance. Concerned for the young lady sitting close to them, Utrien poked Michaels shoulder.
"Michael, can you blow a gentle breeze over to those two? It might help them calm down. Or make it worse, but let's do it anyway." He took Michaels face and pointed it at Caelen and Ty.

“No, it’d be a mean thing of me to leave you after I volunteered to help myself. Once you finish eating I’ll show you the way back and then we can part ways. It’s honestly fun being able to talk to someone like this. They look a little occupied anyway.”

She answered Allison and spotted the fireball boy herself. Approaching the pair wasn’t something even she herself would do so bravely ,so she wondered how things would play out. Unsurprisingly really, it didn’t seem to go very smoothly. She wished they’d get along but maybe certain types of people just didn’t suit each other. This was the second time something hectic was happening in the Mess hall.

She prayed that the mild disturbance of creaking sounds the tables were making would be the extent of his power. He still seemed pretty dissatisfied though. For now Maya decided to just continue watching, it couldn’t be too bad, after all half the people in this place seemed angry about something. Then the blonde boy who actually started the ruckus seemed to be finished and walked towards the door. She looked back at Allison and giggled while still keeping an eye at the boys and their actions.

“This is exactly what I meant when I said it’s lively. I think with how often it happens, soon we’ll all be used to these outbursts.”

Michael for one wasn't going to stand for this nonsense. He looked down at his food thoughtfully then stood up slowly. His honey colored eyes flashing sharply with a look he rarely used. Without a word he walked over to Caelan's table he slapped his hand on it so hard one would think he would have injured his hand. He frowned furiously and shot a look at the white haired boy.

"Ty!" He said with an unnecessarily loud voice, hoping to get his attention before he'd left the room "Come to OUR table. There is lots of space with a lot less filth. You don't need people like these stinking up the already foul smell of this food. Besides everyone knows a decent take-over is more than just overwhelming powers and smart-ass attitudes. You want to make this place your own you have to know this place IN and OUT. That means it's prisoners as well. Otherwise you've simply won over a chaotic mess that will only eat you up in the end. No one likes a tyrant no matter what flavor bullshit he comes in."

His gold eyes flashed and he looked back at Caelan. "Everyone is valuable here. You'd best be absolutely certain that you can take on every single one of us when your through with your crusade, because you can be certain you'll be facing every single one of us that you kick aside in the end."

It was gutsy of him to say the least especially even as he already felt the fluctuation of Caelan's temper building. Michael however was calm. He turned and walked back towards his table. Not even a gust of wind on his lips.

Utrien waited until Michael sat down then said quite calmly with a hint of good natured sarcasm. "That wasn't what i meant, but what the heck. I asked for a small wind and i guess that wind was good. I think that might have made him angrier though." Utrien smiled a closed eyes smile while he produced three tentacles that stabbed themselves into the ground, tethering him and his chair to the ground. Someone's going to explode, and he doesn't know who or when it'll be. He should at least be prepared.

He finished his apple and hid the seeds. Leaning on one hand, he mused. "You guys remind me of a newly introduced pride. Already heating up and butting heads. This might be beneficial, you would however gather a lot of enemies or abrasive relationships. Get your groups together and make sure they hold, you might want to have Allies in this war that's brewing." Steepling his hands and gazing at Caelan and Michael waiting for the storm to hit.

Seeing this display from Mike caused all sorts of thoughts to run through Marshall’s mind, most of which were wildly inappropriate. This was incredibly brave and noble, yet incredibly stupid at the same time. He may have been standing up for the little guy here, but at what cost? Did he just throw all of them under the bus? Sure most of them could hold their own in a fight, but this dude could control gravity, this was not a power to be taken lightly and he had no idea what powers the others at that table had. At this moment he wished he could make all of his group invisible, but sadly, his power wasn’t something he could extend to others.

He felt himself tense up as he expected the worst, ready to do anything that was necessary, depending what on gravity boy did. He was still tense as Mike sat back down. He tried letting logic back into his head, but the tension remained. “ I don’t get why everyone is so hell-bent on a war within this place. Am I the only one that knows what this place really is? Some of you believe it’s actually a school to help us, some of you think it’s a prison to keep us away from the rest of society. Neither is right, or wrong. No one seems to notice that all the people turning up with powers around the world are either kids or teenagers. That means we’re the first generation of super humans. It won’t be long before the first nut job comes along and tries to take over the world or something stupid like that because he has a grudge. We’re in a freaking training facility. Whoever is in charge around here wants to create a group of heroes before the first villains show up and at the rate this place is going they’re going to create a school full of nut jobs who are going to be the ones to try and take over the world. For fuck sake, am I the only one who reads comics?” He rambled on, not really talking to anyone in particular.

Her apology was, as it seemed, a deadly weapon. Her words had sent Caelan into a combined fit of coughing, choking and laughing. She didn't understand how her words would cause such a reaction or how someone could choke and laugh and cough all at the same time. She didn't know whether to laugh at or with him, or worry that he might seriously choke on the already hazardous looking substance he had been swallowing. In that state of confusion she just had a poker face, leaning back slightly as to avoid any food particles that may turn into deadly projectiles. Once he finally calmed down, having escaped a cruel death by unidentifiable lunch specials, he spoke; or well tried to. He coughed in between sentences, still trying to swallow. - "Well, don't apologize. I'm his brother after all. He-...He's my brother, after all. I've gotten onto him about his attitudes time and time again. He usually gets me back in some way, but it's nice to see someone else can't stand his nonsense any more than I can. It's refreshing. I'm sure he won't get too mad at you like he would at me, he can't stay mad at pretty girls." So she had not been alone in her disapproval over Mihael. She watched curiously as he continued eating, stopping only to add more to his statement almost as an afterthought. "If he's still raw later, I'll try to defuse it, I suppose. Now. About meditation. If you want later, I can float you with me, but we'll not do that now. Not while you're dressed like that. So, first thing's first-" A smile was spreading on her lips as she listen to his ramblings, she had been totally wrong on her pervert assumption earlier. She felt a tinge of guilt over almost slapping him, then felt even more guilty over slapping that other random guy. As if by art of magic that same guy suddenly spoke beside their table, cutting Caelan off mid sentence.

"Alright first things first sweetheart. What the hell? Was your dog killed by a greeting or something? Second, sorry. I can understand if you're on edge, we're not exactly in the most relaxing situation. I didn't mean to scare you, where I'm from I had to learn to keep my footsteps quiet, it's a habit." The boy was looking straight into her deep grey eyes as he spoke, pulling a cigarette out when he paused. "And third, what do you say we just forget about? We're all sitting on a powder keg, and Big Brother's just waiting for it to blow. Being at each others throats isn't going to help anyone. So what do you say friends? Or at least tolerant acquaintances?" The boy had offered them a cigarette and then lit it. What he used to light it was a fireball he had created in the palm of his hand. The sight and warmth of it sent her into a dazed state of shock. She hated fire, she was deathly afraid of it and wanted it to go away right now. Her entire body went still and her eyes turned into an almost white shade of blue. The water bottle next to her froze instantly."Now, friend, I don't think you understood the exact point I was trying to make with you when we left you in your time-out-corner back in the hallway. We don't want company right now. We aren't seeking company right now. We're working, right now, as roommates, together towards a common goal that you are not a part of." Caelan was talking but she wasn't listening. "You're a pyrochinetik. I've no use for someone like you." He had stood up now, speaking an a growing hostile tone. Their table, as well as probably every other table in the cafeteria began shaking slightly. He was loosing control.

"Wow, you think I need to prove something to you? That's adorable. Seriously that's like a puppy in a sweater and a baby panda level of cute. And you want something impressive? How about controlling my powers for one. Seems like you need a lesson or two on that, buddy. For future reference, don't tell me what to do. It never ends well. Ever. But like I said, us being at each other's throats ain't helping anyone." By now the fireball was gone and she was panting slowly as if recovering from a panic attack, her eyes still almost white. She didn't approve of either of their behaviors but both had a point. On one side, knowing the partial truth behind Caelan's thoughts, she could see why he would say such things. On the other side she agreed with Ty about the power control, something she as well as many others here were clearly struggling with. The boy then turned his back on both of them and started walking away after one last smart ass remark. This was ridiculous. She hadn't even gotten a chance to speak or answer any of the things he had said to her. She stood up and started to move towards the boy, not without effort because she was partly afraid of him making more fire. That and the fact she still had a fever made her vision blur from standing up so fast and she lay her hand against the table to keep herself up. That moment of pause allowed yet another person to speak before she got the chance to. This time it was one of the boys from across the room, the one that looked like a bleached out version of Caelan and Mihael. "Ty! Come to OUR table.

The boy was speaking loud enough for everyone to clearly hear him while shooting glares at Caelan. He continued his speech as if unable to stop himself until his thoughts were expressed. It was risky, knowing how Caelan would react if he got any angrier, but very brave. He didn't even look agitated, he looked rather calm as if talking casually. "Everyone is valuable here. You'd best be absolutely certain that you can take on every single one of us when your through with your crusade, because you can be certain you'll be facing every single one of us that you kick aside in the end." She re positioned herself and turned back towards Caelan with a flushed, mildly angry and completely defeated look on her face. She was tired. She was so tired she couldn't even get agitated enough to explode, instead she got really really really frustrated to the point her eyes watered. She turned around and called out to the fire wielding boy, a very vulnerable and innocent look on her face. Half from how she felt and half from feeling like she was about to faint. She spoke as she walked towards him. [b] You never let me answer your questions. I accept your apology for scaring me only if you accept mine for accidentally slapping you. I know you two... She looked back at Caelan who looked like an active volcano then back at the Ty with a small smile. " ...will probably never get along. But, I say yes to your proposal of putting it all behind. What do you say, for the sake of all of us being shoved into this place at once, that we put ALL of this behind us. Start fresh. She extended her had towards in in a peaceful attempt to calm everything, including herself, down. The next sentence she said while glancing first at the bleached out version of the twins and his table, a slightly hurt look in her eyes at him having called Caelan and her both filth, then at Caelan with a look that said remember what you were about to teach me before this all started. She spoke loud enough so everyone could hear her, her tiny body was not very attention grabbing but she knew that the sight of movement between these two guys, her startling blue eyes and unusual red hair would be enough. That and the fact that every step she took had left ice on the floor, she herself was on a thin line with her control at the moment but she forced herself to stay calm. "No one here is better than anyone else here, but no one here is less than anyone else either. We all have our string points and our faults. Some of them more obvious than others but they are still there. You all, Caelan and I are no exception. This place has put everyone on edge and no one is thinking clearly right now. Seeing everyone's bad sides wont do anyone any good. So... She took a deep breath and spoke directly to Ty. I'm Katherine. It's a pleasure to meet you Ty." She held her hand in place, waiting to see how he, and everyone else, would react to her small speech. At least she finally got a word in.

Allison had finished up her food and put on her mask as everything escalated around them, she kept her face straight as her stomach began to hurt. It wasn't from what she ate but more from all the yelling, loud noises and the like always made her feel like she was being trapped in a small dark closet that didn't have a doorknob. She could see the confusion and annoyance in most of everyone's face, their eyes seeming to look around for someone who they can just blame for this. One of her gloved hands went to rub her legs, trying to ease her nerves by breathing in and out slowly.

There had to be something that could calm people down, this seemed to be the first day and if they were going to be stuck together, fighting wasn't going to solve important things. She looked over at Maya again, brows wrinkling a bit as she had a thought. Allison leaned towards the girl, making sure there was still plenty of space between the two, and spoke softly to the smaller girl. You can affect others, yes? Maybe you can calm them?

"Wow, you think I need to prove something to you? That's adorable. Seriously that's like a puppy in a sweater and a baby panda level of cute. And you want something impressive? How about controlling my powers for one. Seems like you need a lesson or two on that, buddy. For future reference, don't tell me what to do. It never ends well. Ever. But like I said, us being at each other's throats ain't helping anyone. Opening a can of whoop-ass all over you is just a waste of my time and energy."

The wretch known as Ty stormed off, thinking he'd made his point quite clear to Caelan. He had, but not in a way that he intended. Caelan smiled again, the confident smile of someone who knew an inside joke that the room did not. Not quite smug, not quite psychotic, simply confident. The smile of a trained actor. As Ty stormed off, the tables ceased their shuddering, and his hair settled into place. Calm yourself. They'll scatter like chaff before long, save for those you bring with you in the tempest. Calm. Caelan's unknowing white-knuckle grip on the fork relaxed. He would not lose control. Not here. Not now. They weren't worth his time. None of them were. He turned to seat himself again when the loud slap of flesh on metal seemed to echo throughout the cafeteria, despite murmurings from the staff at the display.

"Ty! Come to OUR table. No one likes a tyrant no matter what flavor bullshit he comes in." The new boy shot a glare at Caelan's direction. Admirable. Another friend? How fun this will turn out to be! The boy continued on, pointedly ignoring Caelan. "Everyone is valuable here. You'd best be absolutely certain that you can take on every single one of us when your through with your crusade, because you can be certain you'll be facing every single one of us that you kick aside in the end."

A retort forming on his lips, Caelan's mouth cracked open but was shut again thanks to Katherine. "You never let me answer your questions. I accept your apology for scaring me only if you accept mine for accidentally slapping you. I know you two... She looked first at him, then at Ty, giving him an almost accusatory stare. "...will probably never get along. But, I say yes to your proposal of putting it all behind. What do you say, for the sake of all of us being shoved into this place at once, that we put ALL of this behind us. Start fresh." She approached Ty and extended a hand in a gesture of peace, and friendship. Another glance in his direction, this time a look of almost chastisement, before turning back to Ty with her hand extended. So I'm Katherine. It's a pleasure to meet you Ty."

Caelan chuckled to himself and shook his head, as if the entire situation was a joke to him. He turned, addressing the table behind them, particularly the one who stood up to him in the middle of what clearly was rage. "Well. Well well well. You've certainly got a spine. Don't you? You might be worth something. As for you, Ty..." He addressed Ty without turning to face him. "Don't cross me, and we will be fine." Returning his attention to the other table Caelan continued to speak. "You make a fair point, friend. Burning every bridge immediately isn't worth doing on day one. In the grand scheme of things here, the end is what matters. Freedom is what matters. Making sure this doesn't happen to anyone else, matters." He strode past Katherine, speaking in a hushed whisper only she could hear. "If you're still interested in meditation, I'll be in the courtyard. If not, I will see you back at the room. He strode past Ty, taking care to not come near him as he left the cafeteria. "But let me make one thing clear. Don't push me too far. It won't end well." As a final demonstration, he projected some of his power at the closest unoccupied table. The table shrieked briefly as the metal crumpled into itself, becoming a smooth, featureless ball that fell to the floor with a loud crash, cracking the tiles as it fell. With the table as his closing remark, Caelan pushed the door open with one hand and strode to the courtyard, feeling a bit accomplished. It was unlike him to regain his composure from the brink of losing it. He moved along, hands in his pockets. Filth huh? What would vermin know about filth?

This began to get even more hectic as people from the other table also began to shout. The whole situation was completely unnecessary and frankly it was getting out of hand. You could cut the tension with a knife. But she was sure sooner or later they’d calm down, well she at least stayed hopeful.

Suddenly the red haired girl began speaking. Her words weren’t the loudest in the room, yet to Maya they were the clearest as only those words tried to bring peace. She agreed with the girl’s little speech and was overjoyed someone else actually tried to keep peaceful and happy relationships in this place.

“You can affect others, yes? Maybe you can calm them?”

“I….um,” Maya looked around at the people as she began to answer Allison. She wasn’t sure casting an illusion would even help and her power probably wouldn’t do wonders on this many people. Another thing was her desire to remain neutral, she could probably make a wall visible to the main aggressors but it wouldn’t really make anyone happy. “Just give them time. They’ll calm down on their own, this is just what you get with all these hormones trapped in one place. No one is hurt after all, they all just want to let their emotions go.”

As she expected the fight soon broke down as the white haired boy left. Sure, he said some pretty harsh words but at last it was calm again. Before opening the door he also gave everyone a demonstration of his power. As a nearby table became squashed Maya couldn’t help but let out a squeal of surprise. She waited a few moments before facing Allison again.

“See, I don’t think they really mean to get angry at each other. Oh, and you don’t look so good, why don’t I walk you back so you can rest and get some alone time?”
