Height: 5'3
Weight: 120 pounds

Complexion and Build: White, slender and defined proportions.

The first includes black ankle high black boots with thigh high red socks, a tight mini long sleeve white dress that ends in the middle of her thighs, a black jacket with a cartoon like picture of snowy clouds in the back. The second is the same boots with sheer black stockings, black shorts with a white belt, A white long sleeve button up shirt with a red tie around her neck, an over sized light brown jacket that loosely hangs over her shoulder with a belt tied around the arms to hold it up.

Image

Accessories: She has a long and thin black chain necklace with a silver locket. The outside of the locket is a soft silver white with an abstract design on it in the lightest blue, it almost looked like clouds raining snowflakes. The inside has a charm carved onto the metal in the shape of a single snowflake. The snowflake has tiny diamonds and sapphires in intricate combinations throughout the spaces in the design giving it a glittering almost 3D effect. She has two small silver cross earrings and a silver ring with another sapphire in the shape of a water drop on her right middle finger.

Likes: She likes animals especially birds and cats. She loves gems and antique objects or jewelry. She enjoys playing games like scavenger hunt or playing pranks. She is addicted to sweets especially white chocolate and caramel.

Dislikes: She is afraid of fire, butterflies and loosing control of her powers or her mind. She hates it when people look down on her or see her as weak because of her size or doll like appearance. She hates, really hates, being called short.

Personality: She can be stubborn when she feels passionate about something. She is slightly sarcastic at times but tends to turn awkwardly shy or bashful around guys if they get too close to her. She can be a slight airhead and very oblivious to things like feelings or her surroundings, her self awareness is lacking. She is a prideful firecracker with a short temper who is very impulsive and not afraid to make a stand if she is being treated unfairly, feels threatened or feels like she can prove herself.

Powers: Kat can manipulate the temperature of the moisture in the air or her immediate surroundings either crystallizing it into ice or boiling it into steam. Her naturally steel grey eyes change colors simultaneously with her powers turning icy blue almost white when using ice, deep yellow like amber when using steam and very dark sapphire blue almost black when she makes water. Sometimes she can unconsciously change the temperature in the room when her mood changes. In dry atmosphere she can redirect the moisture in her body to her hands and expel it as either shards of ice, patches or gusts of snow, sprays of water or bursts of steam in small quantities. `

When using the water in he own body she can recycle the ice, water or snow she has already formed and re shape it or re absorb it as she sees fit. This is only possible if she makes direct physical contact with it. Due to this restriction she can't re absorb water that has been turned into steam unless she transforms it into another substance before touching it. When using moisture outside her body she can mold larger quantities into more flexible shapes compared to the small quantities inside her. If when using heat to make steam she quickly switches to cooling it then it can form a light or thick fog depending on the amount of water used. This is only possible if she uses both hands simultaneously. If she applies this same method to individual hands, meaning using heat on one hand and cold on the other she can make the humidity reach a stable temperature and turn it into solid water.

Generally water expands but remains at a constant weight when it's cold so she needs to use less water when making ice but steam separates so for a truly effective temperature change she needs larger amounts of humidity. When using outside moisture she runs a small risk of accidentally cutting herself with the ice if she looses control or burning herself with the steam for the same reason. When using moisture from inside her body she runs a high risk of dehydration especially if she can't get the water back to her body quickly. If she get's to the point of not being able to find a point to release the powers or she switches too rapidly from one to the other then she suffers from either high fevers or chills bordering on hypothermia depending on which power she used last. When using steam, even from an outside source, her core temperature rises rapidly and like wise using ice makes her inner temperature drop dramatically. Because of this she needs to constantly be drinking water to stabilize. Her powers are strongly linked to her emotions and can potentially activate on their own if she feels a strong enough sudden change in emotions like rage, panic or shock.

History:
Kat was the result of a fling between Elizabeth Cardin, a High class socialite and aspiring actress, and Keith Silverleaf, a successful Lawyer making a name for himself. Neither of them wanted the publicity of a child when they weren't married and both agreed that their careers came before an unplanned mistake. So they kept her birth a secret to avoid a scandal by having Elizabeth fake an illness during the pregnancy. Once Katherine Silverleaf Cardin was born she was sent to one of the private homes owned by her mother on a remote part of Nevada. There she was raised by several maids and butlers until she was five years old. By this age she started having serious tantrums because she wanted to be with her parents. The only contact she had with them was by watching them on t.v., the news or the occasional gift in the mail to try and calm her down. At first it worked but she quickly grew tired of the attempts and started lashing out at the maids and the butlers a like by ripping her toys and clothes. This made her otherwise uninterested mother take action, if anything she was highly vain about her belongings and it made her angry that a burden such as an unwanted child was disrupting her collection. Her solution was to send Kat to a foster home and shove her out of her life. One of the butlers knew someone that owned such a place in Grand Forks, North Dakota and volunteered to take her there.

For the next decade she was forced to live with eight other children. All of them were boys one to three years older than her. At first she was very cheerful, curious, full of warmth and life; excited to have friends to play with but by the time she turned 8 she had become a very different little girl. Every one of her new sibling treated her like the black sheep of the house; an interesting pet to tease on. Sometimes they pretended she was a ghost and acted as if she didn't exist for weeks on end, other times they would lock her outside for hours at a time or try to cut her hair and wear it as a fake mustache. The owners didn't care what happened to her as long as her mother sent them fat paychecks every month to keep Kat's identity hidden. Other than the paychecks there was the occasional random jewelry in the mail. Turns out that the butler who brought her here constantly stole her mothers jewelry and sent it to his lover, the supposed friend and owner of the home, as gifts. At first she felt angry that her moms things were being taken, then she felt happy that she was getting what she deserved and finally she felt sad that those were the only things that connected her to her biological mother. A mother that never once wanted her.

One day, after she had turned fourteen, an incident occurred. The boys had tied her to the bottom of the Christmas tree and started throwing snowballs at her. By the time they got bored and went outside to play in the snow she was soaking wet and shivering. She stared at her reflection in a small puddle in front of her, her expression one of deep thought. Her parents thought she was a bothersome mistake, the owners of the house saw her as a steady flow of cash, the boys saw her as a bug they could step on whenever they wanted and she didn't have a single friend. She started crying quietly in frustration at her life, her tears making tiny ripple in the puddle. Her sadness grew into anger. Anger at her dad for ignoring her existence, at her mother for throwing her away, at the owner for exploiting her, at the boys for treating her like a pest and at life for being so cruel to her. The air around her started feeling warm then hot as if the puddles were evaporating into steam. The humidity in the air caused the Christmas lights to short out and some of the bulbs exploded, setting the branches on fire.

She didn't feel the heat from the fire because the air was already hot, it wasn't until the bright color of the growing flames caught her eye in what remained of the puddles that she realized what was going on. She struggled to break free of the rope but it was wet and just stuck together. The branches quickly set a blaze like wildfire and hot clumps of burnt leaves started falling around her, stinging the exposed skin they landed on and setting the dry parts of the rug on fire. She began to panic, tugging at the ropes again with tears rolling down her cheeks. Then she screamed at the top of her lungs for help. No one responded at first. The boys assumed she just wanted to get untied so they ignored her but when black smoke started creeping out the windows and the door they rushed inside. The couch had caught fire now, the plush velvet igniting almost instantly into a blazing ball of heat. She went quiet and still, her eyes wide open and locked on the scorching couch in front of her. The only reason she wasn't lighting up along with it was that she was still damp from the earlier torture, but that water was quickly evaporating with the rising temperature. Even so, she felt cold and numb as if the air around her was getting colder instead of hotter. At that moment the owner came down stairs in a state of panic, she yelled at the boys to start throwing snow inside to put it out and went to get the water hose; completely ignoring the fact Kat was in the middle of the inferno.

The younger boys stayed outside because they were too afraid but started making snowballs as fast as they could and passed them to the older boys who started throwing them inside. No matter how many they threw, the snow would evaporate before it hit the floor. It was the water from the hose that started making progress, some of it collected on the burnt rug next to Kat, jolting her from her shocked daze. She shut her eyes and whispered in an almost broken voice "Someone...please....make it stop." At that moment the windows cracked from the heat and she screamed stop so loud it made her throat hurt. A gust of cold air burst around the room like a tornado, putting out the fire and freezing everything around her. The tree, the couch, the rug and the stream of water bursting out of the house all turned into still crystallized pieces of art. The woman and the kids all dropped to the floor, too stunned to react. Time seemed to stop. Kat opened her eyes and saw glittering ice everywhere, even the fire had frozen in wave like shapes, before collapsing.

So begins...

Ty was pretty surprised some guy he didn't know came to his defense, even if it wasn't needed. But how'd he know his name? Ty looked over at the table he came from and saw Utrien. 'Oh he must have told him.' Ty thought to himself. When the girl started talking, Ty turned back to face her and listened closely at her speech, he noticed she looked sick, or scared.
Ty looked behind her at her table and noticed the frozen water bottle. 'Does she have ice powers? Did my powers make her sick?' Ty wondered to himself. When she extended her hand towards him, he looked into her eyes and saw that water was coming out of them. 'Why is she crying? Is it because of me, or him?' Ty asked himself.
Before he could respond, the asshole got up and just strode past him, like he wasn't even important enough for his full attention. Ty's eyes followed him with every move he made. But before he left he gave another demonstration of his power by crashing a table. Ty was starting to swell up with anger, but he took a deep breath in and exhaled out of his nose, with a small flame shooting out of each nostril, almost like a cartoon character.
Ty turned back to Katherine, hoping she didn't she the flames in case his powers were affecting her. "It's already forgotten." Ty said as he firmly took her hand, and a warm smile on his face. "The pleasures all mine, Katherine."
"Um...are you alright?" Ty asked with genuine concern. "My powers aren't hurting you are they?"

Judy got annoyed when she couldn’t sleep, her stomach had been growling, taking Panther, she went to the cafeteria, saw how everyone seemed to congregate there. ”Oh I hope my prenses isn’t too much for ya’ll” she said with a sneer, she was really annoyed with people treating her like a leoper. ”Name’s Judy, in case anyone cares” she added as she walked past, Panther growling at everyone by Ty. Sneaking past them, she grabbed an apple and soda and walked slowly towards the exit, Panther smelling everyone and lightly nibbling on Ty’s hand. Turning around, she went and stood by Ty and the redhead.

After getting settled in, Passha decided to join the rest of the prisoners. Standing up, her put her heels and a corset dress on. Fluffing her hair out, she strutted down the halls. The click click click of her heels echoed down the halls as she got to the mess hall. Her glowing green eyes scanning everyone there. "Well hello fellow classmates, My name is Passhia but you can call me Fang, since, well I have a venomous bite" she said with a smile, running her tongue over her pearly white fangs. From around her neck, came a Cobra, it slithered down her legs to her side. "Don't panic, he doesn't bite. Well unless you're a cat, which I happen to smell" she said with a smile as she patted the snakes head.

The first one to respond to the series of events had been Caelan, naturally. A flare for the dramatic seemed to be a hereditary trait that ran in his family, Mihael was the same way but in a slightly different set of circumstances. They were twins so it only made since they would have things in common, including the prideful stubbornness she was quickly getting familiar with. That pride was the one that made him speak to his opposite or, as Kat now called him, bleached out version of him without actually turning to look at him. "Well. Well well well. You've certainly got a spine. Don't you? You might be worth something. As for you, Ty..."She tensed as she heard her roommate speak the other boys name, had her attempt to calm the situation failed? By the sound of his voice she couldn't tell that it had not failed. She had heard the shift in his tone, it was no longer coated in that dangerous instability it had been a few seconds ago. He continued talking to the fire user before turning back towards the table. [/color] "Don't cross me, and we will be fine"......"You make a fair point, friend. Burning every bridge immediately isn't worth doing on day one. In the grand scheme of things here, the end is what matters. Freedom is what matters. Making sure this doesn't happen to anyone else, matters." She heard footsteps move towards her and tensed a little as he whispered in her ear. He informed her that he would be in the courtyard meditating, and would meet her there if she chose to go or see her back at the room later tonight. After those short words he walked past Ty in an almost nonchalant manner. To some it would seem rude but she knew better, she knew how badly he was holding back. The silence that had formed as he moved was broken as his voice echoes across the room one more time. "But let me make one thing clear. Don't push me too far. It won't end well." The table nearest to him suddenly shook, crumpling in on itself until it was nothing more than a metal ball. A ball that landed with great force on the floor, cracking the tiles on impact as if it were a meteorite. That was the Caelan she had come to know, she knew he couldn't help himself. She had spoken, or thought, too soon on the matter of control. With that last act he walked out of the cafeteria and disappeared from sight. She would put some thought into meeting up with him after this depending on how things played out.

The pyro had listened intently to her speech, to her relief. She had been half afraid that he might have reacted explosively like Caelan and maybe even used his powers but somehow, contrary to his fiery powers, he had remained rather cool through this whole event. She didn't know how she would have reacted if she saw that fireball again but it would not have ended well. It was refreshing to meet someone who could actually keep their cool. In a way this boy was her polar opposite. He used fire but remained cool and she used ice and water but exploded in fiery rage more often than not. The boy looked at her hand then at her eyes, a look of confusion then wonder on his face as if he wasn't sure about something but was really thinking about it. He then turned, watched Caelan do his power trick and then leave. She watched curiously as he seemed to exhale all his rage before he turned back to her, she straightened up as best she could to look confident but quickly relaxed once she heard him speak. He shook her and with a warm smile on his lips. "It's already forgotten. The pleasures all mine, Katherine." His smile turned into an expression of concern, his voice worried. "Um...are you alright? My powers aren't hurting you are they?" She then remembered that she must look rather ill, her face must be as red as her hair by now and must seem exhausted. With everything that's happened she may as well explain why she was like this. First she let go of his hand and shook her head as an answer to his question, then jumped into an explanation." I will be ok. I just have a pretty bad fever because I used my powers one too many times today. There was a situation back in my room and well...things got out of hand. That's why Caelan was dragging me like that, he was trying to get both of us away from the others before both of us lost our tempers at the same time and someone got hurt. Your powers aren't affecting me in the way you must be thinking. When paused a moment, feeling almost ashamed at admitting this to someone other than herself. Even if she was scared to tell him it was for the best, as to avoid a bad situation later on.

" I'm....I'm really afraid of fire. There was an incident in my past where...I was almost burned alive and I haven't been able to even look at a candles flame since then without going into total shock. Which is bad because, sometimes my powers go all crazy if I'm like that... She had moved a stray lock f hair away while speaking, her voice trembling a little when she spoke, then pointed at the frozen water bottle on the table she had been in as an example of what she was saying to him. During her explanation a girl walked into the cafeteria with a small dog. It was the same girl that Caelan and Kat had almost run over when they left the room. Yet another person she had to apologize to, she had only seen her for a second before being dragged out so she didn't know if the girl would recognize her or not. She made her way towards the food, speaking with a sarcastic and semi hostile tone to no one in particular as she moved. ”Oh I hope my prenses isn’t too much for ya’ll. Name’s Judy, in case anyone cares” The girls attitude was such a harsh contrast to the super happy and friendly voice she had heard outside her door earlier that it almost scared her. The small dog seemed to imitate the girls anger and was growling at everyone that got in range of it's master. The girl, or Judy as she had informed the room, picked up an apple and a soda and made her back towards the exit when she stopped. The dog had jumped out of her arms and moved across the room with great speed, smelling everyone briefly before lingering on Ty's hand. It nibbled almost playfully on the boys hand. This made Judy turn and walk towards them, Kat tensed awkwardly but continued to explain to Ty." I will probably be fine after I get some more water in me and some sleep, I just can't really go back to my room just yet...too crowded. Caelan had brought me over to get some food and water so I could feel better. He...isn't as bad as he appears. Really. I'm sorry again, for what happened.

She smiled almost sheepishly before turning to the girl that now stood beside Ty and the small dog. Kat swallowed and spoke up awkwardly, it was now or never. She had already apologized twice today so she might as well keep going and get through with it all at once."Um..Hi. Judy? I don't know if you remember me from earlier. My roommate kind of dragged me out of my room as you were coming in and kind of ran you over on the way out. I just wanted to say that I am really sorry about what happened. There was too much tension building up in there, it was getting crowded and tempers as well as powers started flaring up. Please don't think that we were treating you bad on purpose, really we weren't. Things just happened in that unfortunate order. I hope you didn't get hurt, or your little friend there." Kat felt her heat racing with nerves as she spoke, she didn't know if the girl would react like Caelan and explode or like Ty and keep his cool. The only thing she could do now was breath knowing she had at least come forward and apologize, even if she hadn't been the one to run the girl over, for what happened. All these emotional loops today were seriously too much, she started feeling like she really did want to meet up with Caelan and do that weird floating zen thing. Hopefully the the rest of the time she will be in this place wont be as hectic, but somehow she highly doubted it would be any more relaxed with the kind of people clashing in it.

Not surprisingly, with the pattern of random people today, yet another person walked in. This time it was a rather attention grabbing girl in heels and a corset dress. Her hair bounced with each step as she cat walked into the room with an almost impossible entrance to miss, it reminded her a little of the twins dramatic personalities but a lot less hostile. Her green eyes scanned the room as she spoke. "Well hello fellow classmates, My name is Passhia but you can call me Fang, since, well I have a venomous bite." A small tongue ran over her teeth in an almost unconsciously animalistic manner to prove her point. The next thing that happened could maybe be the strangest thing that Kat had seen all day. Some real wickedly strange shit had happened today so that was really saying something. A Cobra. Yes, a COBRA had peeked out of her hair and slithered down her legs, coming to a stop on the floor beside her."Don't panic, he doesn't bite. Well unless you're a cat, which I happen to smell" She had spoken while petting the snakes head like a puppy. It was a boy snake? How can you even tell if a snake is female or male. She shuddered at the thought not wanting to really get a mental picture of the process. During this whole thing one thing still poked at her mind."Wait did she just say Cat? Cat's and birds where the two animals that Kat really loved, there was no way she had missed one, even in her dazed and feverish state. She looked around the room excitedly, probably the most animated she had looked since the fever started, her long crimson hair jumping along with her. Her childlike movements quickly turned into disappointing stillness and sad steel gray eyes having found no feline anywhere."Wheres the cat...?" She spoke to no one in particular but wanted an answer to her question.

When the girl spoke to her, she had been looking at the girls shoes, somehow not wanting to do eye contact. ”It’s fine, and Panther is nothing to fear, he’s a nice dog, just pet behind his ear and you’ll be fine” she said with a smile. She turned as the girl entered the room, and picked up Panther. ”So I didn’t catch your name” she said, moving to the girls other side.

Panther licked the girls hair, not knowing what else to lick, his tail moving and whacking Judy’s arm

Ty listened to Katherine's explaining why she is kind of sickly looking at the moment, and her fear of fire. "I appreciate the honest. We all got our demons." Ty said to Katherine, trying to reassure her. "Sometimes they seem like actual demons." As soon as he said that he instantly wanted to take it back, and closed his eyes for a brief moment like he said something stupid, he isn't exactly comfortable talking about his past. "I'll try not to 'flame on' when I'm around. Just don't get to mad if I slip up ever now and then."
Then Judy, along with Panther came into the cafeteria. Her attitude was surprisingly hostile, her and Katherine must have had some kind of altercation earlier. Panther came over to him and started nudging at his hand. Ty kneeled down and started petting the dog. Then not to long after another girl came into the cafeteria. She was wearing some fancy dress, and introduced herself as Passhia but to be called fang. Living up to her name she had some kind snake like tongue and fangs.
Then a cobra slithered down from her hair and onto the floor. "Holy Shit!" Ty yelled out as he jumped back. Ty only half heard the girls talk about some cat, he was focused on the cobra. "First a dog, then a cat, and now a snake. Did I miss the memo? Am I the only one who didn't bring a pet? Or do they give them out here like those owls from Harry Potter? If so I want a Komodo Dragon."

Allison nodded in agreement, making the coins on her mask ting together, as she watched the chaos seem to stop just as quickly as it had started on both sides of their table. It took her a moment to let go of her own leg, since her grip on it had became deadly when a table nearby suddenly looked like it had been stepped on by a giant. She stood to throw Maya and her's things away, passing by some of the newcomers as she did so. The place had became too crowded for her anyways, shrinking the dark closet into a small box that could've just been a coffin. She had no idea, she never could see the outside of it.

Waiting by the door she looked over at the group that continued to grow, seeing that her wishes of things calming down were not going to be answered anytime soon. Allison reached up to tighten her hair back into position on the higher part of the back of her head and waved to all of the people in the cafeteria. I think after this I will paint the halls after all, I think everyone here could use something...

“It sounds tasty.” He grinned. “Tell ya what, when this place is done with us, you can make me some of your Creole and I’ll make you some of my clam chowder.” He could think of nothing right now that would make him happier than cooking for Mike. He suddenly had images of the two of them living together and cooking for him all the time. “ Wow, going a little overboard there aren’t you? Now you got the two of you guys living together and you can’t even work up the nerve to tell him you like him.” his inner monolog returned to scold him again. He ignored it.

“So I guess with gravity boy going to the courtyard, it doesn’t leave us with many options for seeing those wings you were talking about, the only other place I can think of that would be big enough is the pool.” His face turned a little red at the thought of seeing Mike shirtless, wet and with wings. He suddenly noticed the dog and the girl with the snake. He had no issue with the snake, he actually liked snakes, but the dog in the cafeteria really bothered him for some reason. He had nothing against this particular dog, but he was still freaked out a little. Out of nowhere he started flickering. He couldn’t figure out what was going on, he was going in and out of visibility like an old tv with bad reception. A few minutes later he was completely gone. He saw the looks on the group’s faces freaked him out even more as they watched him disappear in front of their eyes.
“Oh shit! Well, this has never happened to me before.” He said as he tried concentrating on being seen. The best he was able to get was a ghost-like effect, he was visible, but he was see-through. “This is weird, I’ve never been half visible before. What should I do?” He asked with a note of fear in his voice.

Utrien's eyes sharpened the moment he saw the cobra. Even if he was adept at handling wild animals, he was still wary around them specially with Ezra around. Unlatching his tentacles from the ground, he made them rise up and wave to Fang. If she wants to freak people out, alright with him. He can play that game just fine. He didn't sleep as much as he wanted and his usual serene and shy demeanor is gone, replaced by an uncaring and sarcastic demeanor.

So many varied people arriving, so little presence to go over there and talk. He slumped over the table and laid down with his face sideways, too much interaction with nothing much happening. First the cat incident, then the marshall and jurou faceoff, followed by Caelen, Ty and Michael. He knew that Ramone told him to socialize but this is ridiculous. He liked animals and plants, they were much more predictable. Less drama and more upfront.

Utrien turned his face towards Michael. "The only thing they are feeding us here is slop and other unrecognizable food. Spam would be better than this, and that's Something Pretending As Meat. Talking about delicious food with actual ingredients would be more of a disadvantage, no?" Utrien grinned. His sarcastic side is getting the better of him, mostly why he naps. Waking up gives him a mellow and soft buzz that subdues that. He shrugs mentally 'oh well i'll be living here with them and looks like i won't get much sleep. They might have to get used to it.' He sat up with a cheeky grin.

The next thing that happened was another unexpected event. Marshall is flashing. And not the girl kind of flashing, but the flashing from reality flashing. He's flickering from view. With wide eyes, Utrien took some of the slop and smeared it on Marshall's arm. He thought of smearing it on to Marshall's face as a moustache but he doesn't know what's in there. He wants Marshall to be visible, not sick from some new disease. "I'm sorry, i just need you to be visible. You did say that you sometimes can't control your power, maybe this is one of those times?" Then Marshall flickered halfway back to solid. "...At least i didn't smear it on your face like my original plan," he reasoned with a sheepish smile. "I would suggest to coat yourself with something that's easy to see. Wouldn't want any accidents. Maybe this is a stress thing though. Who knows, but hey maybe you can now haunt the kitchen so they can make the food better" he added with a somewhat unhelpful shrug.

After Jurou finished his slop rather quickly, he simply sat there and listened to the trio for a bit, then got bored and started to day dream, leaning his elbow on the table he stared off into the distance with his face leaning on the palm of his hand with a natural irritated look about him as he began to think of ways to give Marshall hell. Perhaps he could simply just tease him from time to time for fun, although watching him squirm sounded just as fun but he wasn't sure if it was a good idea in front of a lot of people. He continued not to pay attention to anyone or anything around him for quite a bit, simply thinking, the random object his eyes were fixated on did not change, he simply stared at a random chair for quite a while until finally he snapped out of it casually and looked at the three. "Marshall, you're terrible at flirting, aren't you embarrassed about everyone seeing how bad you are at it?" With that little snark remark, which he said as if it were part of casual conversation, no sudden grin on his face, just a blank expression as he looked him in the eyes, then back at Michael. "I'm really bored now. Can we go. I didn't come here to watch the circus." That little comment was towards the little fight of sorts if you could call it that, that happened while he wasn't paying full attention. He could still hear all the drama, just didn't care for it. Jurou was acting quite serious and impatient now, itching to just get out side and let out all the built up energy he had stored in him. He didn't even really care about Marshall's random flashing, as long as it didn't affect him he would let him keep flashing. "You look better half visible." Okay one more little asshole comment, now he needed to just wait until they got out of the damn place so he could cool off by running a bit or something. He couldn't care less if someone brought a damn dragon into the cafeteria by this point. When he noticed Utrien smear slop on Marshall he started chuckling out loud like a little kid, which in a way was a nice change to see him smiling and laughing from his frowning face.

Marshall didn’t really care about the slop that Utrien had smeared on his arm, not that it really did any good, the invisibility power had an aura effect and the slop became as visible as the rest of him, it was the reason that his clothes always phased with him. He did his best to calm down after the embarrassment and he could tell that Mike had been embarrassed as well, from the redness in his cheeks and ears. As Mike went out of his way to “defend his honor”, even if it were a poor attempt, it only made things worse. His visibility started fading a bit more and Mike came to sit down and try to get him to focus on coming back, though he wasn’t sure where Mike thought he was going, he appreciated the gesture, though it just made him feel even more humiliated. As Mike looked into his eyes, Marshall knew that he was going to loose it and, at this point, he didn’t care. His eyes rapidly shifted from the usual emerald green to a dark, almost black, pine green. He very gently removed Mike’s hands from his face, taking note of the worried look in his eyes, Marshall gave him a reassuring smile before his jaw clenched to the point of locking up and he stood up glaring at the smart ass across the table.

“ This ends now.” He growled. “You and I are going to be spending a lot of time together in the same room so let’s get this over with before one of us does something we’ll regret. I slammed a door in your face, true. However, before that I was flirting, as poorly as it may have been, when I was interrupted by a whiney cat with a wardrobe malfunction. This was irritating to say the least, then you drop the bomb on me about how you were stalking me and then try to run out the door without so much as a word as to why you were doing so. So, yes, I slammed a door in your face and held it shut until you answered my question. Was it a display of dominance? No. It was a display of anger and frustration. Contrary to what your more wild instincts may tell you, not everything is a pissing contest. At no point have I ever felt myself superior to you or that you were a push over. I actually respected you and in spite of your recent dumb fuckery, I still do, hell I respect everyone here. Anyone who goes through the pain of discovering their powers and all the bullshit that comes with them is far from a push over. But know this: I’m not a push over either. I have no doubt that you could beat the crap out of me with out even breaking a sweat.” Marshall paused but didn’t break eye contact. There was a shriek from the kitchen as all the knives in the cutting block came floating into the mess hall. Marshall positioned the knives to where they were all pointed at Jurou's vital organs with a mere thought. “But I could end you without even lifting a finger.” He hissed. “I put up with bullies like you for the last sixteen years. And I’m not talking about the kids at school I mean my own fucking parents. I volunteered to come to this fucking place to get rid of those ass hats and I’ll go to a real prison or my grave before I’ll put up with someone like them ever again. So you have two options. One: you can treat me with the same respect that I have for you, or two: you can fear me, but either way I will not be bullied ever again.” He slammed all the knives into the cement floor of the mess hall hard enough to sink them all about halfway into the floor. “I believe I have made my point.” He sneered.

His visibility began to flicker again as he walked to the door and by the time he was there he had vanished. The doors to the mess hall swung open as he left. Marshall went back to his room and changed into his swim trunks and grabbed his towel. He walked down the halls to the pool and he didn’t care if he was able to be seen or not. He walked into the room and dove right into the pool trying to get the sixteen years of hate that had just boiled up to the surface to wash away, but it just wasn‘t working. He pulled himself up to the side of the pool and started sobbing.

Control. Must. Maintain. Control…

Caelan, externally, settled back onto the ground while the stones continued to rotate around him. Internally, Caelan had cut himself off from the outside world. The desert ceased to exist. The Academy, demolished. His emtions in harmony. He had become the master of his own domain. He had retreated into his own mind and soul, trying to wrestle his own emotions into control. He was long gone.

A pitch black void. Devoid of everything, filled with nothing. Only Caelan stood alone, his arms outstretched at his sides. He accepted the nothingness, allowed it to flow through him and expunge the turbulent emotions that raged within him. The roiling chaos seemed to seep from him and flow out. With his distractions eliminated, Caelan began his mental exercises. At a twitch of his hand, his own version of existence flowed into being. Sweeps of his hands created asteroid fields, black holes, and constellations. His hands moved, and the space obeyed. Planets, galaxies, and suns grew, flourished, died, and recycled themselves, further continuing the cycle of existence. He was god. However, as he strode through his creating, an unnerving presence haunted him. Something lurked in the darkness, acting against his own creations. Unraveling them, destroying them. Seekeing to usurp his rule. Caelan sought out the intruder, heading deep into his mental universe. The further he strode, the less of his masterpiece he saw. When he was surrounding by nothing but blackness once more, the blackness spoke back.

”You. You think yourself the master of your own universe. You think yourself perfect. You are far from it, Caelan. You and I both know it.

Caelan turned, facing the anomaly in his creation. A silhouette faced him. He didn’t need to guess to know whose silhouette it was. The shadowy version of himself wavered, flowed, and stared back at him with hard crimson eyes. Expressions of outrage, hatred, anger, and sorrow flashed across shadow Caelan’s face. The only constants were the two angry crimson eyes. Eyes that were exact copies of his own.

You know nothing of control, Caelan. You never have. You never will. It’ll always be the same. I will always be there to get in your way. You’ll lose control, again. You’ll crush those you care about until they cease to be. Starting with that pretty redhead we seem to like. Katherine was it? Just imagine how she'll look lying broken before you, bleeding into that beautiful red hair of hers. Try as you might, you’ll only fail. As you’ve always failed. I’ll watch, and laugh. As always.

No. Not this time. I will master you, you will bow before me. I WON’T DO IT AGAIN.

At Caelan’s outburst, something changed within him and with the shadowy version of himself. The dark Caelan’s form sharpened while his own began to waver. He could feel it, as strange a feeling as it was. In his moment he knew his downfall. He couldn’t let himself become that… thing… in front of him.

”I will conquer you. I WILL not lose this. I can’t lose! I won’t!

"So by the tranquil master of harmony and the lovely display of levitating pieces of this beautiful land...I shall assume this Floating Zen 101?"

Katherine’s voice ripped Caelan from his inner confrontation back to the desert. Back to the Academy. The stones slowed their orbit and settled, creating a ring around himself. He opened his eyes, blinking in the overwhelming brightness for a brief moment before he could see again. Katherine playfully bowed before him, like a student before their master. He stood, returning the bow with a flourish.

”Well then, student, approach so we may begin the lessons. We will see what you can become during your studies.

Caelan noticed a girl sitting off in another portion of the courtyard. She looked a little too young to be here, but it wasn’t completely out of the question. Who knows what her powers were? He decided that he’d play at the level-headed figurehead and beckoned her over in turn. ”You can join in too, if you want. Or watch, whatever works!

Amelia Dunston

ile only staring at the man for a few moments, Amelia saw from the corner of her eye another person enter the courtyard, this time it was a lady with long red hair. The lady walked over to the man and spoke to him, she seemed to be trying to act playful towards him as she spoke and then bowed, this made Amelia wonder what kind of relationship the two had.
Only after finishing her one-way conversation did the lady then look over to realize that Amelia was in the courtyard too and so the lady waved.

Amelia was surprised at first that she had been noticed, the man didn't seem to see her before he started meditating, but naturally she waved back. Then, only a few seconds later the man's display of rocks and stones settled themselves and stopped moving as the man then opened his eyes and stood to reply to the girl. He seemed playful too, which was a change to how Amelia saw him before, angry and frustrated, she assumed the meditation was working. After finishing replying to the lady and ushering her to sit with him, Amelia realized this must have been a meditation session between the two, and her thoughts were only confirmed when the man asked if she'd like to join.

After the man's seemingly kind gesture of finally noticing her and offering her a place in their sessions, Amelia then stood and lifted her bat up, letting it rest against her shoulder as she walked over to the two, waiting until she came level with the man and the red-headed lady before she spoke in her quiet, monotone voice, "No, sorry... sport is my form of meditating and since I can not.." Amelia pulled the bat down off of her shoulder and tapped it in her palm, feeling the cold metal as she spoke, "I will go have to find something else, so that I do not disturb your session.." and with that small bit of speech, Amelia made her way out of the courtyard and back inside the building, heading directly to her room.

After putting the baseball bat safely away, Amelia began to think of what she said earlier about sport being her own form of meditation and so decided that, if she could no longer play baseball, she would go for a swim as she was certain there was said to be a pool here. Once appropriately dressed in her swimsuit and equip with a towel, goggles and sandals, Amelia left her room, closed the door and made her way down to the room which contained the pool.

Once there, Amelia placed her stuff down in a corner of the room. She made certain to fold up her towel neatly and then place the sandals on top so they would stay put and stay clean. Then, after securing her things, Amelia pulled her goggles down over her eyes and made her way to the edge of the pool, taking a deep breath before diving in and beginning breast-stroke once she had resurfaced. Half-way down the length of the pool, Amelia noticed the sound of sobbing and stopped her self so she could listen and look around for the source. It turned out to be another man, dripping wet on the side of the pool in his own swimming gear. Curious. Amelia decided to swim over to him, but she knew of the possibilities the others may of had with their powers, so she stayed in the water and kept herself afloat as she looked up at him on the edge and spoke, "Why are you crying?" she asked the man, her voice similar to the emotionless, monotone vibe it had earlier. Amelia waited for the man's reply, tilting her head slightly in curiosity as she noticed the man starting to flicker and waver in and out of existence.

Maya followed Allison to the door and then took the lead. As they left some other people came in. Both of the girls had animal companions with them and it made her wonder if keeping pets in a place like this was a big problem. She watched Allison wave goodbye to all the others while they walked out.

As the continued down the corridor Maya rambled about random things which weren’t particularly important. Once they started seeing dorm rooms she stopped.

“You should easily get to your room from here, it was very nice meeting you!” She said to the girl with a grin and waved lightly, remembering she didn’t seem to like handshakes. Then she headed towards her own room. On the way in the corner of her eye she spotted the white haired boy who was with the group of four before. Considering he was alone and didn’t look too happy, she wondered if something happened between them. She knelt down beside the boy and looked at him.

“Are you ok there?,” she asked with concern. “Try to cheer up it’s not like it can get much worse, we’re in this place after all.”

Sometimes encouraging words of a stranger helped lighten the mood. She hoped he’d be ok soon. Sadness was a horrible feeling and while it was natural the girl wanted to do her best to stop people feeling down, especially since it was only the beginning of their little adventure . The boy seemed like he wanted to be alone and so she didn’t plan on bothering him much longer. Next time she’d see him he would hopefully be in a better mood. Before she got up, Maya smiled and winked at the boy. “Hang in there buddy!”

Kats arrival must have gotten the boys attention. The impressive display of a mini milky way of pebbles floating around him slowed it's flow until it all stopped in one smooth motion. The objects floating around around him still looked impressive in their stilled motion. Caelan stood up and took his own graceful bow, the expression on his face mirrored the one she had seen the moment they met. A relaxed and warm atmosphere surrounding him. It almost made Kat want to draw what she was seeing. He was really something to look at under the sun. Those captivating golden eyes, that alluring contrast between his tanned skin and his cloud white hair, his almost unreal height ...they almost made him look angelic. If angels could be blood thirsty devils with explosive tempers and psychotic humor. That zen thing worked faster that she expected if he already had himself under control. Maybe he just had that much more control than she did? That sounded a lot more realistic.

”Well then, student, approach so we may begin the lessons. We will see what you can become during your studies. You can join in too, if you want. Or watch, whatever works!" He spoke to her first, an almost silent challenge hidden in his statement. What possible change could her gaining control over her temper bring? Then again, she hadn't even overcome doing silly parlor tricks with her owners because if she tried anything more powerful she would loose it. She would always end up bringing herself to her physical limits a lot faster and collapse, sometimes for days at a time. If she could pull back, hold back her emotions during her power use, then maybe just maybe she could be capable of more. That idea filled her with the urge to take this zen thing a lot more seriously. He spoke to the girl that was across the courtyard from them, breaking her train of thought. The small girl made her way towards them in response, bat in hand, and stopped in front of them. Her childlike eyes scanning both Caelan and Kat curiously. She tapped the bat with her hand and spoke in a quiet almost robotic voice, as if the words were a second thought and her mind was already on something else.

"No, sorry... sport is my form of meditating and since I can not...I will go have to find something else, so that I do not disturb your session.." With that, the tiny female left through the same doors that Kat had just walked through. That made her thoughts on whether this girl would be like the rest fly out the window. She wouldn't even get the chance to find out, she was just brushed off like half the people in the cafeteria. Ok, it was official. Every single girl in this place was a nut job. She had never gotten along with girls but this was ridiculous. Either they treated Kat like a child or someone beneath them or ignored her presence all together. This place was really getting on her last nerve. With her back to Caelan, still watching the door as it swung closed, she spoke in a mildly annoyed voice.

" You know...I am starting to feel lucky I got you as a roommate instead of a girl. The people here are a special kind of strange...Almost creeps me out to think of what it would be like to room with someone like Desire or Venom. Psh. That would not end well. She shook her head in dismay and turned towards him, a small but determined smile on her rosy lips. The idea dissolved quickly with the promise of reality. She didn't have to think about them, just her real roommate. Her partner. She walked towards him until she was just two feet away, her long red hair dancing in the soft breeze. He towered over her almost comically, she stood up straight trying to look taller. " What's my first lesson? Sensei. " She felt the gentle warmth of the sun caress her milky white skin, a slight fear of a sunburn lingering deep in the back of her mind. That same warmth light up her big grey eyes like two shards of glass on the beach, making them sparkle like gems.

Judy just wanted to have a few female friends for once in her life. As she made her way back to her dorm, she began to cry, which made Panther upset. All her life she was never one to have friends. Animals were here only friends. Crying as she got to her dorm, putting Panther down, she threw herself down on her bed and sobbed.

Passhia and her Cobra entered the room, seeing some people leave, she decided to stay and sit on a near by table, taking a lollipop out of her pocket, she unwrapped it and stuck it between her lips, taking it out again to talk, ”I’m not exactly someone you want to mess with, but I can be friendly, and I guess to fill the time in this hell hole, I could use a few friends.” she said looking around, hoping someone heard her, her cobra wound itself around her neck and seemed to disappear.

Ty was still too focused on the snake to notice that Katherine had left, and by the time he did she was long gone. Ty then glanced over to the group of guys having a argument, a pretty angry one. He didn't think anything of it until a bunch of knives starting floating around from the kitchen, all pointed at one of the guys. Ty clenched his fist and prepared to step in if things escalated. Luckily things didn't, because the half visible guy who seemed to be the cause of it left. He was soon followed by the guy who stood up for Ty.
"Ooook then." Ty said as he turned around and realized that Judy had left and Passhia has seemed to lost interest in him. "Well now I'm a little hurt." Ty muttered to himself, realizing that everyone he's talked to just up and left him without a word. Ty went over to the food line, and got himself a tray of that government made slop. Ty quickly scarfed it down, hoping the quicker he ate the better it would taste, of course it didn't. Once he was done he tossed his garbage away and threw his over to where it'd be cleaned and left the cafeteria.
Ty calmly walked back to his room. He couldn't stop thinking about that walking superiority complex. Ty grew up with people like him all his life, but guy in particular bothered him. Was it that whatever his end game is it would Ty and everyone else down with him? Or that he was dragging a nice girl like Katherine along with him? He was seriously bugging him. Speaking of the devil, on his way to his room he saw a big painting of the guy. "Seriously?!" Ty growled. This could not stand.
Ty quickly ran to his room and searched through his backpack. "Come on. Where are you, you little bastard?" Ty muttered as he dug through his backpack. "Ah-ha!" Ty called out in victory as he pulled out a spray can. "Spray paint, never leave home without it." Ty said as he returned to the painting. Ty took the cap off the can with his mouth and thoroughly shook it. Ty quickly spray painted a pair of circular glasses, buck teeth, and a large arrow going through his head. It wasn't his best work, but hopefully it was enough to keep the guy's inflated ego in check.
Ty quickly returned to his room and tossed his spray can across the room. The can hit the back wall and rolled underneath his bed. Ty looked over at his backpack, realizing that he hasn't even unpacked yet. His mortal foe procrastination wins again. Ty picked up his pack, and took out a large candle and placed on his nightstand. He then quickly and lazily dumped all of the backpack's contents into the drawers of his dresser. As he was dumping a closed envelope fell out. Ty tossed his now empty backpack aside and picked up the envelope. "Mom must have snuck this in here." Ty said with half a smile. It was probably another good bye. He felt kind of bad at how he left things with her, he was just pissed that he was forced into some half-baked X-mansion.
Ty turned the envelope over and saw the words 'To: Ty From: Dad' written on the front. Ty's blood started to boil at the mere reading of his dad. Ty's hands then started to smoke, and heat started to emit from Ty in waves. The envelope then went up in flames, leaving only small bits of ash. Ty's hands were still smoking as he took deep breaths in and out. "No, no, no, no, no. Not now. Not now." Ty kept repeating. Ty quickly took out his IPhone before his hands got too hot to be able to touch it, and played 'Stairway to Heaven' by Led Zeppelin. Ty lite his candle, and stared intently into the flame. The flame grew larger and small with each of his breaths. Before long his hands finally stopped smoking and started cooling down.

"Teaching: How hard can it be?"

"No, sorry... sport is my form of meditating and since I can not...I will go have to find something else, so that I do not disturb your session.." With that rather short remark, the small girl with the baseball bat left. Caelan might be second guessing the general age group of the school, but she seemed incredibly young to be here. She looked no older than ten years old, but he'd seen stranger things in this world. He could control the ebb and flow of gravity while his brother could bend and sculpt time as an artist sculpts clay. What more could truly surprise him, when he really got down to it? Is she with that other group of students, the Cafeteria crowd? While unlikely, he couldn't readily dismiss the potential connection so easily. Anyone against the goal of his brother and himself would be swept away like chaff before the wind. There was no alternate course. Any who could not bend would be broken by the forces of the world itself. However, the insufferable boy from the cafeteria did have a point. Not a very strong one, but a point nontheless. If they did alienate them to the side of the school, they would provide another irritant to their conquest. Who knows what else the school was hiding, but it wouldn't take too long for Mihael, Desire, Katherine, and himself to surmount the challenge. Caelan couldn't help but faintly smile at the thought of subjugating this place. It'd be a blow for the good of people like them. To show they wouldn't be subjugated easily. Not by a long shot.

"You know...I am starting to feel lucky I got you as a roommate instead of a girl. The people here are a special kind of strange...Almost creeps me out to think of what it would be like to room with someone like Desire or Venom. Psh. That would not end well. Caelan returned his eyes to Katherine as she spoke. In spite of the blazing desert sun, Caelan's eyes dilated. A faint breeze blew towards him, lifting Katherine's crimson tresses and causing them to dance about her face, while her silvery grey eyes seemed to cut through to his very core. His brain struggled to keep noting the details while his heart rate increased so his brain could do what it wished. Again, time seemed to stand still, but Caelan was looking forward to the phenomenon. He couldn't explain it, but he knew it was happening. When time seemed to stop entirely, Caelan's brain went into over drive. Everything had to be remembered as perfectly as possible. The heat, the breeze dancing across his face, the cloudless sky, and the silence that seemed to envelop the entire courtyard. Most of all, her. He wanted to remember her. Even in this prison, he felt himself truly fortunate to have met someone like her. Someone who he could honestly call a friend, an ally. He hoped she would think of him in a similar light, and her small smile seemed to confirm his unspoken thought. She stood straighter, as if trying to be more intimidating, and her smile seemed to grow ever so slightly. "What's my first lesson, Sensei?"

Caelan laughed lightly, and gently beckoned her over. "Approach, student, so that we may begin." A laugh almost seemed to permeate Caelan's words. He honestly was enjoying himself, for now, at least. The thought of his own inner selves battling it out for supremacy of his powers made the necessity of self control a pressing matter on his mind. While he'd also be teaching her, he needed to seek control so he wouldn't need to rely on Mihael being there if he lost control. He gestured to a spot just in front of him and sat down, choosing to cross his legs like he had before. "Sit, and we'll begin. Make sure you are comfortable, but don't slouch so that you might fall asleep. We want you to be as relaxed as possible without out-right sleeping. That's too relaxed. Next, breath normally. I won't be super strict with how you should breathe, but it should flow. Don't impede it, let it come and go. Then, when you are satisfied with your breathing, let your thoughts copy the air you breathe. Let it flow, let it run free. Don't seek to control it, let it take its own course. If they disturb you, gently try and move them away. Let the river of your thoughts flow free. Don't try to block the flow, you'll get dragged under and lose control faster than you'd ever realize. Just relax, let it do what it will, and you will be more in control when you'd ever thought possible." He smiled, satisfied with his own explanation. "If you think you've got it, show me. Just relax, Kat. Relax, and let your mind do its own work."

Her words had the most satisfying response from him she could hope for, he laughed. The sound was better than anything she had heard all day, it almost made her forget the shitty moments she had been through. Almost. With that same warm smile on his lips he motioned for her to get closer. "Approach, student, so that we may begin." It almost seemed as if he were having fun right now, as opposed to an infuriatingly annoying time that nearly drew him to public property destruction and accidental (or not so accidental) murder of innocent (or maybe not so much) bystanders in the cafeteria. For a moment it made her think of what it would be like to have him drowning in a nightmare and have his powers activate in his sleep. She swallowed at the thought of becoming a tiny rectangle of oozing blood on her bed without even waking up to feel it happening. At least she would die quickly and unaware right? Right...She shuddered the thought away and gingerly moved forward to the spot Caelan had pointed at just in front of him.

"Sit, and we'll begin. Make sure you are comfortable, but don't slouch so that you might fall asleep. We want you to be as relaxed as possible without out-right sleeping. That's too relaxed."She stopped a moment and maneuvered her jacket in a way that it covered her legs as to not flash him before sitting down in front of him. She attempted to mimic his cross legged pose, not without effort, and was surprised that it was a lot more comfortable than it looked. She did all this while listening to his instructions. His words were both clear and hysterically confusing. It almost sounded as if her were telling her relax but don't relax. To get comfortable till she feels like she is going to fall asleep but don't dare fall asleep. Did he want her to calm herself or not? She decided on yes and straightened her back while wiggling her hips until she felt snuggled into her spot. The boy continued his explanation, jumping right into the intricate method of breathing.

"Next, breath normally. I won't be super strict with how you should breathe, but it should flow. Don't impede it, let it come and go. " He made her conscious of her breathing in a way that she now felt every breath, it no longer happened automatically. Curse him. She felt the warm air go into her nose and slide into her lunges, making her exhale in a way that she felt like a raging fire breathing dragon. Why was desert air so hot? Even now when the sun had started going down in the afternoon that temperature lingered. She repeated the motion until somehow she got used to the heat. She closed her eyes, concentrating only on the air going in and out of her body. At first it felt forced, robotic and almost bizarre but as she kept doing it her mind started wondering somewhere else allowing her body to move on it's own. That awareness of the oxygen filling her lungs slowly drifting to the back of her mind once more, letting the natural survival instincts kick in and take over. It made her feel so comfortable that a light haze started covering her mind, she was getting sleepy. She almost missed the next part of what he said, bordering on falling asleep, but she willed her ears to listen and her mind to stay up.

"Then, when you are satisfied with your breathing, let your thoughts copy the air you breathe. Let it flow, let it run free. Don't seek to control it, let it take its own course. If they disturb you, gently try and move them away. Let the river of your thoughts flow free. Don't try to block the flow, you'll get dragged under and lose control faster than you'd ever realize. Just relax, let it do what it will, and you will be more in control when you'd ever thought possible." Her thoughts? What was she suppose to be thinking of? How could thoughts flow? This was giving her a slight headache, too much thinking going on in her head. She arched an eyebrow when the word flow echoed through her mind. Flow? Water could flow couldn't it? Yes. Water is always flowing. She had all but disconnected from the rest of the world with those words floating in her head. His next words finished sending her into that whirlpool in her head. "If you think you've got it, show me. Just relax, Kat. Relax, and let your mind do its own work."

In her mind it was as if someone had just pushed her into a pool and she was sinking deeper and deeper into it's dark depths. Initially she felt freezing cold as if the water around her was secretly turning to ice without actually letting her see it's solid form. Feelings of fear overwhelmed her, panic set in as she struggled helplessly against the waters gravity. Pillars of bubbles scattered around her in a final dance for freedom, she reached for them but they would just slip through her fingers like sand and continue their venture towards the surface. Her arms seemed to glow with electricity, a dim light running through her veins all the way to her finger tips. Once it touched her fingers the water around her hand would freeze into ragged shapes of ice like a crystallized thunderbolt floating to the surface. Once it hit the air above it spread in every direction, covering the waters surface in a thick sheet of jaggedly sharp ice. Now even the enthusiastic bubbles trembled in fear against the cold wall that stopped them. They were so close yet so impossibly far away from freedom, splitting into smaller versions of themselves as the shards of ice sliced them in half. Her eyes had that same ghostly white glow her arms had seconds ago, a sure tell sign of her ice power running loose. She tried to close her hands into fists to stop herself but the cold had made them numb to the point they wouldn't move. This can't be happening...

On the outside, back in the courtyard in front of Caelan something strange and dangerous was happening. At first her body was still, her breathing slow and peaceful. It was as if she had fallen into a trance ans was just calm. Then suddenly she took a sharp breath almost like a gasp, her body tensing and the air around her dropping rapidly in temperature. Everything directly next to her had gotten very cold, small chunks of frost started covering her legs, arms and the ground beneath her. As her nervous breathing continued the frost took form. Bursting in a circular area around her at odd angles in the same jaggedly sharp shapes they had in her current nightmare. One such blade stopped inches from Caelans face, not one of the blades reaching farther than that distance in any direction. Although alarming and dangerous, when they stopped moving they were breathtakingly beautiful. The ice almost looked like a rose surrounding her, a clear crystal rose of ice. The sun shining down on it sent a prism of colors into the air, miniature rainbows decorating the thin chilly mist that surrounded Kat in her frosty prison. Her long crimson hair stood out within it like a candle in a dark room, giving her an almost mystical aura. She had never created such a large amount of ice instantaneously or consciously, but this did not take the form of a hostile attack. No. It was almost as if the ice were trying to shield her from something. Her powers, being so linked to her emotions, had sensed her panic and reacted as a shield but stopped almost instantly when they could not find a target. How could her powers defend her against her own mind? The expression on her face was one of calmness, the only sign of her distress having been the gasp from earlier. It was almost as if her cold numb boy represented the calm still exterior.

Back inside her head she was still sinking. Her lungs burned with pain, she couldn't hold her breath for much longer. The cold was making it even harder to hold it in, to not try and gasp for air underwater. She had to move, she had to get out of this state of falling but she couldn't make her body respond. It had fallen asleep from the cold and the fear she felt. Suddenly a searing pain shot through her head, her ears ringing.
" You are so pathetic. Always loosing control over nothing, you should be ashamed of how weak you are Katherine. An echoing voice spoke to her. In that moment everything froze. The water, the bubbles, the pain, the cold, the sound...her heart and her breathing. Everything just stopped. There was nothing but silence. Black and white silence. Was someone talking to her? No. That voice was the same voice she always heard during her sleep, during those restless nights she fought against raging fevers due to her over use of power. This wasn't someone else. It was her own voice trying to drag her deeper into this black hole. She was harder on herself than anyone about her power control. It had been over a year and she had gotten nowhere with learning to keep herself under control. " Yes, you can make ice cover the bottom of someones bed, you can make steam force people to want to faint, hell you can get someone lost in a cloud of fog or mist, but honestly? How impressive is that really Katherine? You can only manipulate it in such short bursts and quantities that you should be considered as hostile as a child with a snowball or a hairdryer . I'm shaking in fear oh no ! Your going to melt me with a hairdryer someone save me. HAHAHA. As if. The voice was clawing at her mind, making it feel like her head was splitting in half. One half pushing her to try and use her powers more even if they were destroying her with each try and the other half whispering such poisonous words about how hopeless she was every time she failed an attempt.

She had not proven the voice wrong with her actions and outbursts today but she still refused to listen. You will fall by your own hand one day Katherine, you will fall. Those pretty little tricks you like to do will slice you open in your sleep like a Christmas present. You will be all alone as you slowly bleed to death. You are going to decorate that comfy little bed with the same crimson mane you carry everyday. It will be a sight to see when y-... NO !!!!! THAT WON'T HAPPEN ! SHUT UP! You don't know what you are saying! I-.. Her silent scream and manifested as nothing more than a tear falling over her cheek in real life, her breathing had stopped. That soft warm breeze that had played with her hair before had now pushed the thin mist away from them, making Caelans view of Kat that much clearer. That was enough, she had enough of this ridiculous and scary dream. She had enough of her mental attacks on herself. She forced her hand to move within that frozen prison, pointing it down to the darkness bellow her. Her hand began to glow pure white as a pillar of thick ice shot down towards the darkness. The light moving in unison through it, destroying the black hole beneath her.Her real body in reality had begun to hyperventilate, the ice around her shaking and cracking into piles of slush or melting into puddles all together. Back in her head the pillar hit solid ground, the bottom of the pool, and pushed her entire body upwards like a rag doll as it kept growing. She braced herself for the impact on the solid ice wall above, her lungs not being able to bare the strain any longer gave in. She took a breath. She felt the rush of water try to drown every inch of her throat and her lungs. She choked as her body hit the ice hard...except she didn't feel it. Her eyes had opened in the real world at the exact moment she should have hit the surface. She fell forward to her hands and knees coughing and panting frantically, water actually coming out of her mouth as if she had actually swallowed some from the dream.

She spoke in a weak voice, in between her panting and coughing, trying to get herself under control.
" Y-you know...Yous-should...r-really...t-think about where s-som...s-someones mind will wonder in that s-state." She was taking longer breaths now and had stopped coughing. She looked up at him with big grey eyes, eyes that were filled with new found confidence, and a huge grin on her lips. "Not everyone is as ready to fight their inner demons as I am. Then again I am pretty bad ass." She rolled over into one of the puddles and groaned as she felt her clothes get wet, but she didn't move. She had just jumped a hurdle she had been trying to pass for over a year. An obstacle that she was keeping herself from over coming. All because she remembered one thing. She wasn't alone. She had someone, for now, standing beside her to help her. A tall, tanned, snow haired, golden eyed devil from the middle of nowhere. In a way he had become her guardian angel and even she didn't know it. She laughed in relief, sighing with an almost exhausted tone before speaking." Man do I suck at this. You tell me to relax and I go on an all out gladiator battle with myself inside my head. Well...in my defense I won. Maybe next time it will go smoother. Now that i don't have that booby trap in there..." This time she only smiled, too tired to laugh or move. Would he laugh at her failure? Would he be mad at her not taking it more seriously? Would he ask her to leave or not want her as a partner anymore? Suddenly all these fears ran through her head. She looked up at him for the first time since she returned to the land of the conscious living to find out.

What happened in there!?

Caelan watched as Katherine slowly settled into a relaxed sitting positon, regulate her breathing, and settle into a meditative state. He had to admit, he was impressed. She settled right into the routine as if it were no big deal at all. Maybe she has more patience than I do? Well, there’s no maybe about it. She’s definitely more patient than I am. Far and away. Maybe I can learn something from this as well. He continued to watch Katherine as she descended into the meditative trance he always knew he sank into during his personal sessions. Momentarily distracted, he got lost in observing. The slow rhythmic rise and fall of her chest, along with the faint dancing of her hair in the breeze, captivated him. It was almost like a scene out of a movie. A movie I never thought I’d see. How many times did Caelan and I tease each other about how I’d never get close to anyone ever? Looks like I win, brother. For once. He continued to watch her meditate, enjoying the view.

The cool breeze seemed to bring the entire scene together. Wait.. Cold? Why’s it cold? Small, rapidly growing patches of ice began to appear on Katherine’s skin and clothing. Caelan reached outward to wake her up, then recoiled a moment later as Katherine sharply drew in breath, almost as if she’s in pain. Caelan leaned forward to try to reach her again when icy blades erupted from Katherine. One blade stopped just short of his face, causing him to thank his fortune that he didn’t lean forward to help her at that exact moment. The blade startled him enough for him to fall backwards, getting a larger view of the sculpture surrounding Katherine. The ice, forming a rose with her as the center, momentarily made his jaw hang loose. She almost looked like a princess from fantasy stories, frozen in time for her safety and until her prince would come to save her. Recovering from where he fell, Caelan could only watch and hope she wouldn’t accidentally freeze to death in her icy shell. Moments stretched like years. Caelan decided that enough was enough, he’d break her out of there if he had to. Not even a full step was taken when the ice began to dissipate. He rushed forward as Katherine fell, vomiting an alarming amount of water that hadn’t been there before.

” Y-you know...Yous-should...r-really...t-think about where s-som...s-someones mind will wonder in that s-state.” She was coughing and shaking, the water finally out of her system. He crossed the short distance to where she knelt and knelt himself, waiting to see whether or not she’d pass out. Rather shockingly, instead of a look of terror, she radiated confidence and self-assurance. A large grin adorned her face as she looked up at him. ”Not everyone is as ready to fight their inner demons as I am. Then again I am pretty bad ass. Man do I suck at this. You tell me to relax and I go on an all out gladiator battle with myself inside my head. Well...in my defense I won. Maybe next time it will go smoother. Now that I don't have that booby trap in there..." Caelan smiled with relief and extended a hand to help her up. ”Yes, a badass you are, it seems. Next time, if you’ve got potentially dangerous reactions to stress, let me know ahead of time, eh? He chuckled on the outside, while he ignored the massive knot of tension that tried to batter its way out of his stomach. ”So, come on. Let’s get you dry. Even in this head, it can’t be good for you to stay that soaked. Do I need to help you back to the room? Will you be okay? Or do we need to stay here for a little while? We’ve got the rest of the day. Just be careful, yeah? Can’t have you crashing now, we’ve got a school to topple, right?"A brief moment passed before questions flew from Caelan's mouth. "What happened? What did you see? Why did your powers react like that? You nearly speared me! Are you okay? Do I need to be worried about being frozen to death if you have a nightmare? Are you settled, now? Do I need to do something? What was with all of that water? How did that happen? Did you almost drown yourself!?"

He was kneeling right beside her before the words had finished coming out of her mouth. For the briefest moment in time, not even a full second, she saw fear and deep worry etched on his face. Those emotions, however, vanished without a trace leaving nothing but another of his killer smiles lingering on his lips that would mimic hers and two golden spheres full of genuine relief. Seeing her smile made him put such a tender look that it almost made her feel embarrassed. She didn't have a moment to waste on her bashfulness because his hand had reached towards her. She took it gladly as he spoke. ”Yes, a badass you are, it seems. Next time, if you’ve got potentially dangerous reactions to stress, let me know ahead of time, eh?" She smirked and answered him almost instantly as she sat up, saying in a ridiculously serious matter of fact tone. " Caelan. I have a high risk of potentially dangerous reactions or side effects related to stress, anger or panic filled situations. Not that you haven't noticed but...just giving you a heads up." The boy chuckled and continued to speak as he began to pull her up to her feet, her jacket dripping on the side from how soaked the puddle had left it and,due to gravity pulling the water back down to the ground, started making a new miniature puddle.

”So, come on. Let’s get you dry. Even in this heat, it can’t be good for you to stay that soaked. Do I need to help you back to the room? Will you be okay? Or do we need to stay here for a little while? We’ve got the rest of the day. Just be careful, yeah? Can’t have you crashing now, we’ve got a school to topple, right?" She nodded on the getting herself dry part and considered her options. Her first option would be to wait till the heat dried her clothes, which by the constant drip of her clothes might take a while even if she would eventually dry, but then she could catch a cold. Her second option would be to go back to the room, possibly shower and change and dry her clothes, but then there was the risk of there still being unwanted guests in there. The third option would be to possibly use her powers to almost air dry herself with steam, but then she might accidentally burn herself in the process and she was not about to strip in front of him to just dry her clothes by themselves. There was also the option of attempting to manipulate the water off of her but after that less than fun underwater adventure in her head she wasn't up to using her powers at this very instant.

Only a brief moment had passed during her thought deliberating before questions flew from Caelan's mouth like an erupting volcano. She blinked, overwhelmed by his sudden outburst and flurry of words. It almost felt like she was drowning in words this time, the sound covering every inch of space between them. "What happened? What did you see? Why did your powers react like that? You nearly speared me! Are you okay? Do I need to be worried about being frozen to death if you have a nightmare? Are you settled, now? Do I need to do something? What was with all of that water? How did that happen? Did you almost drown yourself!?" She could not get a word in even if she tried, much like the rest of today she didn't have enough presence so she did the next best thing. She would make him notice. In her half sitting half kneeling position she pulled herself forward with his hand as leverage, her hair falling over the front of her dress with the movement. Her other hand grabbed hold of his shirt for balance until she was kneeling directly in front of him, her face so close to his that he would feel her breath on his lips. She stared at him with a determined but amused look, as if she were holding back a laugh but too stubborn to not go through with this.

" Oy ! Comrade. How am I supposed to answer any of that if you wont stop and wait for an answer ??! Heh. I appreciate the concern. Really I'm fine. Ok now let's see...what was the first question you sai- AH . Ok. I remember. Well, I kind of drifted to a really dark place in my mind. "Her expression turned a little sadder for a moment before she continued, she was now looking to the side almost lost in thought at the raw memories." I was pushed into a really deep pool. No matter what I did, I couldn't swim back up. I kept sinking deeper and deeper into the pool, I couldn't breath so I panicked. The next thing I know I froze the entire top layer of water, there was no way to get to the surface. I guess that when my fear made my powers activate in my little chaotic nightmare they also activated out here." She looked at him with guilty eyes, feeling genuinely sorry to the point her eyes watered. How could she have almost hurt her friend? Her partner? What kind of a person almost turned there roommate into a frozen dish on a stick!? Somehow sudden impaling didn't ring a bell in the know hows of bonding. Unless someone wrote a book on litteral ways to permanently bond with someone. Gross.

" I'm really sorry I almost speared you....I don't think you have to worry about it when I sleep. Then again...If anything ever happens just.....move away? Of try to wake me up? I honestly don't know. She had never had a roommate before so she didn't even know if her powers activated in her sleep. The thought planted a seed of worry in her mind. Not only because she might impale Caelan but at the possibility that she might impale herself. The thought made her shiver and looked at the puddles before she continued." As for the drowning. There was ...a voice. It was like I was talking to myself in the nastiest way possible. About how shitty my control is and how I would eventually d-.." She bit her lip. She couldn't bring herself to say the words die by her own hand as her voice so sleekly warned her in that nightmare. Instead she sighed and kept going, using her arms to show him the movements she explained." How I would and up hurting myself with my powers. Then my super awesome badness kicked in and I managed to make my powers to what I said. Then again how bad ass could it be to kick your own ass in a dream...anyhow. I pushed an Ice pillar all the way down, it did some weird glow in the dark voodoo thing and I started moving up like a torpedo. Then I couldn't hold my breath anymore so I gasped for air, swallowed a lot of water. Which I still have no idea how I actually swallowed water if it was in my head...I guess that's what the hurting by my own hand meant.... She stayed quiet for a second as that realization really sunk in. She almost drowned herself in a dream and ended up almost drowning in real life. How? She shook her head and tried to finish her story." Then I kept going until the surface and woke up right when i was going to go SPLAT! on the ice. She put both her hands together to symbolize her getting squished like a big against the ice, but the sudden movement made her slip on the wet floor and she started falling backward.

Who wouldn't be worried if someone vomited water in front of them?

” Oy ! Comrade. How am I supposed to answer any of that if you won’t stop and wait for an answer ??! Heh. I appreciate the concern. Really I'm fine. Ok now let's see...what was the first question you sai- AH . Ok. I remember. Well, I kind of drifted to a really dark place in my mind.” Caelan winced. He knew he should’ve withheld his questions until she was stable and had some rest. He couldn’t take his words back, so he withheld the further questions he had until Katherine would have finished her story. He hoped that wouldn’t take too long, he had more questions. His own powers weren’t the most stable, but he hadn’t murdered anyone in his sleep to his knowledge. At least not yet. He hoped that wouldn’t change for quite a while.

" I was pushed into a really deep pool. No matter what I did, I couldn't swim back up. I kept sinking deeper and deeper into the pool, I couldn't breathe so I panicked. The next thing I know I froze the entire top layer of water, there was no way to get to the surface. It was like I was talking to myself in the nastiest way possible. About how shitty my control is and how I would eventually d-.."" Outwardly, Caelan remained passive while he was listening to her recount of her meditative experience, while his hair slowly stood on end on the back of his neck. Her experience was hauntingly similar to his own. Talk about great minds thinking alike. It’s shocking that her mind processes so similarly to my own. Maybe we’re not so different after all. Lucky me, right? He tore himself away from his own inner soliloquy to continue listening to Katherine. ” How I would end up hurting myself with my powers. Which I still have no idea how I actually swallowed water if it was in my head...I guess that's what the hurting by my own hand meant....” Caelan’s eyes momentarily widened in realization of Katherine’s water vomiting. It was definitely something he’d have to keep an eye out for if he wanted to keep the one friend he had other than his brother around. But will she still be interested in fighting together if I lose control? No. I already know I can’t. It will take time, however. I must admit, I’ve grown used to just flattening anything that displeases me. If only I could have done that earlier on today, my day would be much less complicated. Then again, I wouldn’t have seen what I saw, which frankly, was incredible. I guess you need to take ever-

Caelan’s inner thoughts were, once again, interrupted by Katherine. As she began to fall backwards, Caelan shot forward and managed to catch her before she fell and cracked her head on the asphalt of the courtyard. Much as her frame gave away, Katherine wasn’t that heavy. If anything, the water made her feel much heavier than she had been earlier. Despite the dampness, Caelan thought she was rather warm. He could feel his own face growing hotter at the sudden contact. ”Well. Ah. We can’t have you adding head trauma to almost drowning, now can we? I will admit, the water was shocking. Granted, we’re around powers that would scare most normal people, but you never can really get used to seeing these kinds of things, I suppose. Well… Shall we try to get you dried off, then? Do you need to rehydrate again, as well?

As the group made it’s way to the courtyard, Marshall observed as Jurou threw his arm around Mike’s shoulder and whispered in his ear. It was obvious that Mike liked what ever it was he had said. Marshall thought back to his old school and he was reminded of multiple times he had seen many guys go off the handle from seeing something like this. Marshall’s mind didn’t work the same way as other guys though. Sure he was crushing hard on Mike, but Jurou was really nice too. And it was obvious that Mike liked both of them. “Why make it into competition, when it can be a party?” He thought, shocked a little bit by his own idea. He waited a second for one of his inner voices to chime in, he knew it was inevitable. “Are you fucking serious? You mean to tell me that, rather than making one or both of them feel hurt, or turning it into competition that no one would really win, you would go as far as to start a three-person romantic relationship?” The nagging voice asked. “Yes, if it came to that. I would prefer to pursue Mike exclusively, but if it means that anyone will get hurt, it’s not right if we all like each other. What if they aren’t willing to do something like that? Then I politely bow out and try to be happy for them. However, until such an issue arises, I will continue to go after Mike, but I will not get jealous if either of them flirts with the other one, that doesn’t help anyone. And Jurou’s just as sweet and handsome as Mike, I might even do a little flirting with him too.” The argument in his head seemed to be resolved for now. He glanced around to make sure no one was staring at him as he was sure he had mouthed a few of the words while arguing with himself. Nobody seemed to have noticed, so he smiled and walked a little faster to catch up to Jurou and Mike in the front of the group. He felt happier than usual now and was grinning uncontrollably. He knew someone would notice eventually, but he didn’t think it mattered and his plan was still going well.

They reached the courtyard and opened the doors leading outside. Upon walking outside, he noticed that the courtyard was already occupied by a red haired girl and gravity boy from the mess hall. The two seemed to be intently focused on something, and he didn’t think the group would want to get that guy angry again. Marshall headed toward the opposite end of the courtyard and waited for the others to join him.

“C’mon, slowpokes. I wanna see those wings and the sun is setting.”

Michael opened his mouth and glared at Jurou rather playfully when he'd said that and gave him a light shove when he mussed up his hair. "Hey! You little douche it took me forever to get my hair this fab." he pouted and flicked at his bangs. Despite the fact that his hair was already inherently a royal mess. In his eyes it was a fabulously hot mess. "Wasn't exactly what I had in mind by rubbing but....suit yourself." He winked at Jurou allowing his mind to go down an unnecessarily dirty path. He was however just referring to his cat form rubbing up against him but....two birds in one stone. Tease him on all his forms. If it wasn't a sly poke at his catlike tendencies it was a sexual innuendo to get him flustered. This was a game Michael enjoyed.

“C’mon, slowpokes. I wanna see those wings and the sun is setting.”

Michael followed Marshall to the other end of the courtyard. "Here we are, the magnificent showcase of the one and only.........Angel." He spoke the last word with a whisper and smiled towards their small group. He spread his arms wide and took several steps back. He was still just in his jean pants and the muscles in his torso flexed gracefully with every move he made. The dry hot wind of the desert stirred and spiraled around Michael, stirring up small clouds of sand and dust. He turned around in place to show his back where his tattoos seemed to be literally pulling away from his skin, shedding their dark inky appearance like flakes of an old skin. His wings burst forth opening immediately. They where not like angel wings as they moved as if simply another part of his body, folding and adjusting their angle to avoid dragging along the ground or taking up the wind. When they folded they encased his back completely and where big enough to wrap around his body yet flexible enough to fold back along his spine.

He bent his knees and crouched low spreading his wings high up and without warning took off with an epic burst of wind. It was like setting off a rocket a cloud of red dirt was blast in all directions leaving a clean circle around where he once stood. He was rocketing upward at astonishing speeds his wings moving with astonishing speed and dexterity. He flew up several hundred feet and suddenly tucked his wings in tight, twisting his body in astonishing acrobatics ending in a hawk's nose dive. He adjusted to a glide that sent him in a circle over the courtyard.

Michael was in bliss up there. The skies where his home and it wasn't hard to see what with the passion and enthusiasm he gave to flying. He was more than an angel up there. He was an eagle, a hawk. Michael did a few barrel rolls, just to show off and allowed himself to slow before he landed, skidding across the yard. His wings gave a few light flaps to cool down before folding against his back and out of the way. He stood before the group, grinning ear to ear and bowed.
