Powers:
Milo has a highly offensive ability, one which allows him to shoot out powerful beams of energy capable of doing damage varying from singing a person to simply pushing them back, depending on the intensity of his focus and his general intent. His energy comes out in large beams, for the most part, sent out from his left hand, which is the one he favors, being a lefthanded individual. The ability is not particularly complicated in concept, simply shooting out energy with the intent to inflict damage on the opponent. The energy actually appears to come from his stomach, or so he'd have people believe, because he tends to eat a great amount of food after having used his ability multiple times. Though there is no real explanation for it, when using his ability, Milo's eyes, all of the eye, not just the iris and pupil, glow white, the color mirroring the shade of his energy beams. It serves no purpose- just happens.

Weakness:
As previously mentioned, Milo takes the energy from his beams from his stomach, strangely enough. Because of this, he becomes incredibly hungry after using his abilities, and if he overuses them, can begin to show the symptoms of someone who hasn't eaten for several days. Like a car, he can't run on empty, and therefore must have food in his stomach to use his power. Other than that, whether his power actually is effective is based quite a bit on aim- if he can't hit the person, obviously there will be no effect, making those who have the power of intangibility pretty much immune to his abilities. Plus, if he can't see, it's just logical that he won't be able to shoot properly- he needs to see in order to aim, after all.

Strengths:
>Mechanics - Milo is rather handy with engines and the like, able to fix such things easily due to an extensive knowledge on engines and cars.
>Pain Tolerance - Milo has a rather high pain tolerance, and therefore can push himself further without being inhibited by pain.
>Guitarist - While it isn't one of his primary hobbies, Milo is actually quite good with the guitar, which he's been playing for a few years now.
>Humor - Because he is a good-humored individual, Milo is able to continue trying despite insults at him and such. He's very tolerant to such things.

Flaws:
<Dancing - Although he may be pretty good in a fight, Milo is far from elegant, and has the grace of a newborn fawn.
<Lying - Perhaps due to lack of practice, the young man is a terrible liar- he is seen right through in any efforts of deception
<Eyesight - Although he may not look it, because he doesn't wear glasses, Milo has poor eyesight. He wears contacts.
<No Censor - Milo says what he thinks without thought, like verbal diarrhea, and has insulted a few people because of this, unintentionally.

Fears:
Cats || Hurting People Beyond Repair || Heights || Bridges

Hobbies:
Working on Cars || Playing The Guitar || Random Bets

ImagePersonality:
Milo has always been a rather competitive fellow- he likes to have the possibility of winning before him, and to engage in things head to head against other people. There is something more thrilling in knowing that one can win or lose, and he loves the motivation it gives himself to push himself further and further. He's the sort of person that likes to make bets with others, because it gives him a reason to put all he has into a thing without seeming like he's trying to hard. Milo simply likes the feeling of putting every fiber of his being into one task, single-mindedly, because it often presents him with an almost out of body experience, really. He just genuinely loves trying- other people may dismiss it as stupid, as though you'll make yourself look like an idiot if it is too obvious that you are trying, but he doesn't care if he tries and fails in front of everybody, because Milo doesn't really give a damn about what others think- if he doesn't try his best at doing something, the young man has this feeling of shame, as though he could have pushed himself those few feet further, could have stretched himself just a bit thinner. He is a hard worker, in the end, competitive almost to a fault but able to back up his competitiveness with power. He isn't the sort to lose and be sore about it, either- when Milo loses, he's likely to just get up and try again, to work just a bit harder. If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, then the young man is almost guilty of mental instability. But he isn't going to stop just because he's been pushed down, and failure isn't a moodkiller- it's a motivation to work harder.

While he is a competitive, and rather hardworking, individual, Milo is not really a very high strung sort- while he doesn't exactly like losing, he is the sort of person who just laughs it off and keeps going- in a word, easygoing. He is somewhat approachable because of this- while he may be on the higher end of the hierarchy, he doesn't think much of the fact that their is a sort of operating caste system in the school. When he fights in the After School Club, it isn't really to advance his position, but because he likes to challenge himself by fighting people who are stronger than he is. He isn't necessarily a passive individual, but he's somewhat easy to get along with, if one gets past his blunt nature, because he is able to roll with the punches, and will just respond back jokingly. The guy knows how to laugh at himself, basically, and knows how to take a joke- making him unlikely to be offended or become overly defensive around people. He's more than willing to befriend people who want to befriend him, not necessarily over trusting but unlikely to see the evil in a person first- he gives chances, after all. The point is that, although he dislikes lazy days, he's perfectly fine with those who like them- he's generally mellow. Milo doesn't have a problem with someone not liking what he likes, or liking something he doesn't like, so long as they aren't up in his face about it. He's a sociable person, in the end, who doesn't have a problem with most people, so long as they don't hit one of his triggers. He's a cheerful guy, normally, though.

Although he is easygoing, some people may find his blunt nature to be rather off-putting. He doesn't really know how to censor his words, and tends to say exactly what he thinks, just when he thinks it- it's just his nature. If he finds a person annoying, he's not going to dance around the fact, and if he thinks that a person is complaining about something stupid, he will tell them. Of course, he can be hurtful in doing this, because what is a big deal to others might just not be as big a deal to him, and he can be rather insensitive about this fact at times, not realizing that he can be hurting a person with his uncensored words. Despite the fact that he can hurt people with his words, he isn't really as apologetic as he should be about it. He'll be sorry they took offense, but not that he said it in the first place. He isn't going to apologize for what he does, because he rarely does things that he believes to be a problem. Of course, he also is rather unapologetic in how harsh he tends to be towards those who complain about their position- one of the things that he dislikes. He doesn't mind if a person is a bit of a sore loser from time to time, but when they incessantly complain about things that they can change, from his perspective, with hard work, he is merciless.

When Milo sets his mind to something, he tends to have a funnel vision of sorts, and will ignore everything else and focus on that thing alone, something which can run the risk of occasionally ostracizing other people. He doesn't typically mean to do this, but once something is decided, it's nearly impossible to distract the young man from something- he's got incredibly focus in that way, something that people don't really expect to come out from a guy who, when not focused, seems to simply be all over the place. It's true, though, and one can always tell when he's preoccupied with something, because it is displayed clearly over his face. Of course, his face has always been naturally expressive, giving away his every thought and emotion- that's why the young man doesn't even bother with trying to lie, because he knows it is fruitless, other than having a bit of disdain for those who lie consistently. It doesn't take an empath to guess what he thinks on a subject, or how he feels about something, because he is read as easily as a kindergartner's picture book. Little children know what he's thinking easily, and all ages above that can do so with even greater ease. He can't help it, though he hasn't really tried to be honest, and has become content with his life as an open book. The young man has no secrets, anyway, no real baggage hidden behind his smile and relaxed mannerisms.

History:
As far as lives go, Milo has always considered his to be a rather good one. He was raised by a single mother, but never knew his father, so it never really occurred to him to have a problem with that at all. He was raised in a low-income home with two younger sisters, one now eight and the other eleven, both people who he treasures. He's served as the guardian of his family ever since he was old enough to hear of stories about princes and knights protecting their princesses and queens- he's always viewed his little sisters as princesses and his mother as a queen, and despite a typically relaxed individual, he will kill anyone who hurts them without hesitation. When he was little, the boy loved toy cars and trains, and every month his mother would buy him a little Thomas the Train figurine, things that continue to be his prized position. Little things like these define his simply but happy life- his family is as tight knit as it can get, and there are rarely spats between them that cant' be resolved, because his mother is the sweetest, and yet strongest, soul he knows, while Milo's little sisters are, even when they bug him or take things from his room, little angels in his eyes. Family is a big part of his past and, more likely than not, his future, so it is only natural that it should be mentioned profusely in his biography.

When he first started school, Milo was quick to get along with other kids, because everyone speaks their mind openly in kindergarten, and he was the sort of person who just gets along with others without trying- likely because of his easygoing personality and tendency to talk to people freely, without considering any sort of obstacles in the way of being friends with a person. He was the type to stick up for the little girl whose doll had been stolen, but would also easily engage in conversation and a game of tag with the same kid who had stolen the doll earlier. Milo has always been the person who, while he won't hesitate to help those in need, is just as fine befriending the sort of person who might do a few rude or nasty things now and again- so long as nothing gets too extreme, the young man doesn't really mind, to be honest, allowing him to befriend many parts of the social spectrum.

As he grew older, Milo came to find that he was the sort of person who finds themselves on the higher end of that social chain- if only because his powers allow him to take down those with less offensive abilities. He had always loved a challenge, and had no problem whatsoever with the fact that life had become a bit of a competition, though he grew to dislike those who couldn't take a joke and made excuses for their own failure rather than striving to improve themselves. Just as he began to recognize a power-based social structure among his peers, he found himself straying further from academics and more towards his own passions- cars and engines. Milo's grades began to drop, earning lectures from his mother who feared that he would set a bad example for his younger sisters, who were just developing their own abilities, as well. If it matters, his mother is a healer, his eleven year old sister (Leia) can drain energy from people with a touch, and his eight year old sister (Alexandra) wields the power of Psychometry.

For all of this, Milo continues chugging along well enough, considering his life to be a happy one, even if it isn't as grand or interesting as those of some of his friends- he wouldn't trade his family and their little home on Marker Ave for the world. He's been trying to pick his grades back up in order to set a better example for his siblings, especially as Alexandra has begun to stop paying attention to school work, complaining that 'if Milo doesn't have to, why should I?' There isn't much to be said about his simple little life, perhaps, but his family continues to thrive, and so long as that is the case, so will he.

So begins...

Benjamin
Mid-afternoon, Friday 16th of August

Image

A light breeze rolls off the lake beside the town of Benjamin, offering a small break from the hot sun above. For those students stuck inside, the have only a few more minutes until the bell rings marking the end of the school day and the start of the weekend.
Students also find themselves looking forward to the weekly meeting. The After School Club is due for a gathering. A few hours after school most students will make some excuse to their parents and make their way to the abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town. There challanges will be made, some will wake away as winners and others might find themselves further down the social ladder than when they entered the warehouse.

Abigail Porter

Abigail Porter sat in class, her attention on the small, balding man that was trying to lecture the room full of students on the properties of the fundamental forces. He had already given the class a stirring introduction to electromagnetism and no doubt next week would be filled with strong and weak nuclear forces. Today, however, was dedicated completely to gravitation, a force that Abby knew intimately well. Physics had always been an interesting class, or at least Abby thought so. Many of Benjamin's inhabitants had powers that let them defy the very rules that Physics was trying to teach. Abigail always enjoyed seeing the teacher try to explain around the peculiar abilities, making exemptions for the talents. Nevertheless Abby always made a point of learning the lessons, failure was hardly something she wanted.

Even so, as the teacher droned on Abby found her mind wondering to tonight's gathering. She was quite content with her current position, number two, so she doubted that she would challenge Ozzy tonight, but it was always interesting watching other fights. Whenever anyone from the Elite's was challenged it was always useful to pay attention, watching how her fellow Elite's fought was very informative and would help Abby form a partial plan on how to deal with them if they ever chose to fight.

The loud buzzing of the school bell brought Abby's attention back to the present. The teacher began to shout the weekend's assignments over the loud sound of scrapping chairs, but gave it up as hopeless as conversations cropped up and his voice was muffled out. Abby picked up her books, arranging them carefully in her arms. She left the classroom with the crowd and began to make her way towards her locker.

Being an Elite had its perks. Many of the lower students moved out of her way, leaving Abby with a clear path through the crowded school corridors. Of course there were always those who either chose to ignore the hierarchy or simply didn't seem smart enough to get out of her way. Abby was climbing down a set of stairs when a younger students pushed past her, his elbow catching her painfully on the upper arm and sending her books flying. Pursing her lips to stop herself from shouting at the younger student Abby held up a hand, palm facing vertically outwards. Her falling books stopped their descent, freezing in midair. The student froze too, caught in a bubble of zero gravity. His excitement for the weekend, and most likely tonight's meeting, was easily visible and quickly turned to a look of shock as he was slowly spun around to face Abigail.
"If you're going to run in the corridors, you had better watch where you're going." Abby told him. She held out her arms and let her books float into them. The student was still floating inches above the floor in Abby's cloud of zero gravity.
"I... I'm s..sorry" He stuttered, glancing nervously from Abby to the ground just out of reach. Not wanting to cause more of a scene than she already had, Abby let the boy go. He landed on his feet and seemed to shrink back against the wall as Abby passed.

She reached her locker a moment later without incident and quickly opened it, placing the books she didn't need inside and taking out those she would need over the weekend. Around her everyone seemed to be buzzing about the weekend. Abby smiled, she too was looking forward to a few days to relax in the sun, but first came tonight.

Zack Hooke

"Keep your knees up Hooke! Stay awake!" The harsh voice of Benjamin's gym teacher was having little effect on the teenage boy. Zack liked most sports, however gym class was not something he generally enjoyed. Or at least not when he was being forced to run around the track under the heat of Benjamin's summer sun. He could also feel the increasing anger radiating from the large gym teacher as Zack slowly jogged the last leg of the track. He didn't understand why he was the one being targeted, after all there were others who were still behind him.
"Come on Hooke! Don't fall behind!" She shouted again. Zack felt himself slowing down, if only to spite the teacher. He could feel her anger increase exponentially as his pace slowed.
"Come on miss, it's almost the weekend." Zack told her, "And it's too hot to run any faster." He had to admit that the teacher was exceptionally good at controlling her anger. He could feel it spike as he spoke and yet there was no visible sign present.
"Hooke..." Her warning was enough though to let Zack know that it was probably time to lay off. He flashed her a cheeky smile before picking up the pace. Apparently satisfied she went to go harass some other poor student, leaving Zack alone to finish his run and then head for the showers.

Zack quickly entered the male locker room and Zack grabbed a towel before headed into the showers. Ten minutes later he reappeared, smelling faintly of peaches and looking as fresh as if he hadn't just been running. The bell rang just as he was stuffing his damp towel away. Zack picked up his sports bag and made his way out of the showers. He considered stopping by his locker to pick up some books but decided against it. Instead he headed out to the school front where he took a seat on the rails and waited for his friends to come out.

He would see them tonight at the Club, but Zack was a social person. He wouldn't want to waste the few hours between now and the start of the club alone. Sure, he could do some homework, but he'd rather hang out with his friends. Besides, there weren't many days left in summer and he didn't plan on wasting the fine weather.

Milo Pomales isn't really a huge History person- that's probably why he has never even considered taking the advanced track in the subject. Not to say that he ever really has considered any of the advanced tracks, to be honest. History class, though, is at the bottom of the list as far as any sort of favorites may go, no questions ask. Really, it's a wonder that the young man hasn't fallen asleep in class most days. The only thing keeping him up his his determination to keep up decent grades- he has to set a good example for his sisters, as his mother has lectured him about several times before. Thus, he does his best to get Bs, even in the classes that he doesn't give a flying flapjack about. Luckily, half of the grade in this particular class is participation- that much, the extroverted young man can do, at least. Jumping into discussions is easy for him- he kind of feels bad for the shyer kids in the back of the class, the ones who ace the tests but are too anxious to join debates, and therefore are at risk at losing marks or something. Well, the teacher probably favors them enough not to do anything about it.

Anyway, the young man is certainly unapologetic about the glee brought about by the ringing of the door, jumping up and gathering his things quickly. Today's a Club meeting, after all, and he has always loved both competing, and watching others compete. Milo doesn't do it in order to advance in ranking- he'd participate even if it meant him always staying at the very bottom rung. He just likes the thrill of competition, of pushing one's self to improve and working to face a worthy opponent. It's not a matter of showing up or ranking for him- he likes to test his own skill. He's challenging himself more than anyone else when going up against someone during the matches. Milo throws his backpack over his shoulder, twisting his back a bit to crack it, and ease the aching brought about by the too-small plastic chairs provided by the school.

"Have a nice weekend, Mrs. M," Milo bids his History teacher, who he likes despite his disinterest in the subject, goodbye with a friendly smile before leaving. She lives in his neighborhood, actually, and he's helped her fix her car before- saving her the trouble of going to a professional and being overcharged or something like that. The middle-aged woman raises a hand in farewell and smiles, but her eyes remain glued to the stack of assignments that she is currently grading.

As Milo walks down the hall, he spots the Glenn siblings having a bit of a spat, coming up to them just as Merida, who holds some sort of disdain for Milo, to the confusion of the young man, storms off. This is a routine encounter for the two, as far as Milo can tell. Seeing it makes him grateful that he has a good relationship with his little sisters- he'd hate to argue with them all the time, and doing so would only stress out their mother, something he avoids as much as possible. She already has enough stress at work, working as a nurse at the local hospital, without adding sibling arguments on top of it.

"Another argument? Maybe you should give her a bit of space, man," Milo says, bypassing a greeting as he stops beside Jason. The two are a mildly unlikely friendship, but a strong one all the same. Maybe they balance each other out a bit, making it work. Either way, the friendship has given no signs of withering away just yet. "Come on- wanna grab a bite before the club meeting?" Milo suggests with a grin, craving a burger and milkshake from the diner down the road.

Magnolia is already a rather good student, having a gift for studying, even if she doesn't rival people blessed with the supernaturally advanced intellects, but it is only natural for her to whiz through an exam in her best class- AP Environmental Science. Last year, she had opted to double up on sciences with AP Biology, but for her Junior year, the girl wanted to take it a bit easier with something that she already knows about- Environmental Science fit the bill perfectly. Despite finishing her test before the other students, she remains sitting with it in front of her, not really wanting to be the first to go up. It's less an insecurity thing, and more of a 'don't attract attention' sort of thing. Besides, she's found herself locked in conversation with the willow tree that provides shade just outside of the first story class she is currently in. It probably isn't the smartest of ideas for Magnolia to sit near a window, but she continues to do so anyway, because it gives her something to do when otherwise idle.

"And they just kept going on and on about how much they adored him," the tree complained, this one being a shameless gossip who can't help but listen to every conversation held beneath her branches. Most humans can't listen to the words of the trees, but the smarter plants are typically able to understand whatever language is spoken in their residence. Willows are among these smarter trees, though the way this one babbles one wouldn't guess it. Palm trees, on the other hand, have no idea what anyone is saying, and are incredibly vapid. It can be very trying, having one prattle in your ear whenever going to the beach. Luckily, Magnolia isn't much of a beach person.

Magnolia is so busy listening to the willow tree that she, at first, doesn't notice the ringing of the bell, signaling that everyone is free to leave. Only once she notices other people standing up and filing out does Maggie stand, "Well, I have to go now. See you Monday," Magnolia promises, as though she has a choice in the matter. Still, for her gossiping ways, the willow is sweet enough, and Magnolia likes her decently.

After dropping her test on the desk, the teacher, a birdlike man with a curved nose and beady eyes, looks up and smiles at Magnolia. "Will you be joining the River Cleanup on Sunday?" he asks, likely already knowing the answer- Magnolia always makes it her business to be part of such ventures, something which has racked up quite a bit of community service hours over the years. Magnolia is quiet for a few moments before speaking, despite the answer being a certainty.

"Wouldn't miss it," she says in a soft voice, smiling a little bit before leaving, clutching her book against her chest while the rest of her books hit against her hips in the messenger bag strapped across her chest. The girl knows where she is heading- the groundskeepers have been doing an abysmal job of caring for the reading garden, planted by long-since graduated classes, that is at the front of the school. She wastes no time getting there in order to right this wrong.

The flower bushes sing their gratitude, except for the ever-snooty tulips, as she quenches their thirst with a hose that she located, in it's familiar location, at the side of the school. "I'll speak to the groundskeeper about keeping you guys hydrated," she promises, smiling as violets chatter away, and the Roses, not quite snobby by still with an air of superiority, begin dictating the proper amount of water, and frequency of watering, they are to receive. People walk past the girl, most accustomed to seeing her seeming to talk to herself. There are enough communication abilities for people to understand who don't know her.

Seeing three familiar people, Zack, Sebastian, and Millie, walk past, Magnolia raises her hand hesitantly and smiles a bit, before immediately dropping it, thinking that they likely hadn't noticed it anyway.

Jason watched with a frown as Merida stormed off. She would most likely find her 'friends' and talk with them again. Why didn't she ever listen to watch he had to say? Jason honestly only wanted the best for her. 'You will regret this, Mer... You will see the light... I will make sure of that'. Jason thought, his eyes hardened. He clenched his fists tightly, bitter resentment swelled in his chest made it hard to breath. "Another argument? Maybe you should give her a bit of space, man," Jason jumped and looked at the direction he just heard the voice, hastily masked his face into a pleasant smile. "Oh, hello-" His smile dropped when he saw who had just talked to him.

Jason let the invisible mask on his face shatter the moment he realized no one was around to overhear him. "Milo..." He greeted tiredly and ran a hand through his hair in distress. He walked to his best friend and gave him a tiny smile. Many people had always wondered why Milo and Jason could be best friends. They were different in many aspects. One was honest and an open book, the other was a lying and manipulative bastard (Not that people could see that side of him...yet). One was easy-going, the other revengeful. It was a miracle they could get along at all let alone becoming best friends. However, Jason supposed it was the differences that drew them together, like the two poles of a magnet. Milo's honesty evened out Jason's lies and Jason's forceful personality made up for Milo's laid back nature.

And besides, Jason could never befriend a person like himself. He wouldn't be able to trust them and there would be no friendship beside mutual partnership, taking advantages of each other. Jason wouldn't be happy. "...Sometimes, I'm really jealous of you and your sis, Mil'..." Jay said, shooting another glance toward the direction where Merida had gone. "You have any tips to help me with...our relationship?" Jason asked easily, only half-joking. His shoulders slumped and he let out another hug sigh. "...Because I really need it right now..." he muttered quietly.

"Come on- wanna grab a bite before the club meeting?" Milo suggested and Jason immediately agreed, wanting to take his mind off the argument. He needed a clear head if he wanted to keep up with his mask. "Sure thing, bro... The usual place then?", Jason asked, the schoolbag was already in his hand. Well, he could use a good distraction, Jason absently thought.

'Some legends say the Yuki-onna, being associated with winter and snowstorms, is the spirit of someone who perished in the snow. She is at the same time beautiful and serene, yet ruthless in killing unsuspecting mortals. Until the 18th century, she was almost uniformly portrayed as evil. Today, however, stories often color her as more human, emphasizing her ghost-like nature and ephemeral beauty. She was known in Japan as the snow lady.''

Merida listened with poorly disguise interest. When Josh finished his explanation, Mer whistled and clapped her hands "Dang, how the heck can you remember all that stuff?...I mean, I can barely remember half of the things I read an hour ago..." She squirmed uncomfortably under Josh's stare and after a minute or so, he spoke . ''Okay, what is the matter? Don't tell me it nothing Mer, I know how you are feeling and I also know that only one person can make you so...angry...your brother.'' At the mention of Jason, Merida scolded. She didn't even want to talk about him.

"...It's nothing... He's being an asshole... as usual, you know...And 'sides, I don't want to talk about it." Merida pouted and hugged her legs closed to her chest. "I just want a normal relationship with him and not him poking his mutated nose into my business... Is that too much to ask?" Mer mumbled angrily, thinking of the threat Jason had made. She couldn't possibly tell her friends that, they would leave her. They all had seen the real face of Jason and they all knew that he could be a threat if he wanted to. What a bastard!

''We have time to kill and if I can make you feel better, it is good time spent. So?'' Josh pressed but Merida remained stubbornly silent. She didn't want to talk about it and there was nothing Josh could do to force the words out of her. After awhile, Josh started to doze off and Merida let him be. He seemed tired and she wasn't in the mood to talk anyway. Unfortunately for the duo, Mer's ADD chose that exact moment to show up and she couldn't just stay still anymore. "Go get a coke, will come back ASAP, Josh..." She muttered lowly so as not to wake Josh. She stood up, dusted herself and left.

When Merida arrived to the spot she had left Josh, two cokes in her hands, one for herself and the other for Josh, she saw a scene that nearly made the blonde hair girl dropped her drinks in shock. Standing just a few meters away from them was Charley Labelle - an Elite and he was... bullying her friends - James and Josh. The realization hit Mer in the face like a bucket of ice had been dumped on her. In an instant, Merida felt hot, shearing, burning rage filled her very core. No one hurt her friends without her permission.

"Stop that right there, asshole!" Merida yelled, the anger dyed her words into an angry growl. Suddenly, it didn't matter if she was facing an Elite while she was at the bottom of the ladder. It didn't matter that she would have to hear Jason nag for months about responsibilities and hot-headness. It didn't even matter if half of the town would know she was special the moment she used her power. All it mattered was that there was a threat to her friends' sake. Merida wouldn't stand by and watch.

She ran to James' place and shook him. "Jamie, are you alright? Did that asshole do something to you? Oh my god, you're so cold..." She muttered worriedly, her lips pressed into a thin line. She stood up, determination shone in her eyes as she unscrewed her bottle of water and dump the content into her palm. The moment her fingers touched the water, it turned solid. She could use a solid diamond weapon right now. 'I'll probably be exhausted the moment the club starts' Mer thought before shaking her head. Better be exhausted than letting a pea-sized dick bullied her friends.

"Why don't you take someone your own size, fucker!?" Mer snarled, noticing that Josh was running. That's good, his power couldn't be used to defense himself this instance. Only Merida had the power to do so. And she would be damned before she failed her friends. With that thought in mind, Merida stood a little straighter, positioned herself between Charley and Jamie protectively.

Magnolia had nearly not caught Zack gesturing for her to come and join the group, having begun to turn back to the flowers in order to continue the conversation- which had really just turned into a bunch of requests from the various bushes about how they would like their treatment to go about. More likely than not, Magnolia will end up taking care of the flowers herself, rather than having to go and find someone she doesn't know to talk about the issue with. It's more laborious for Magnolia, but she considers it a better alternative by far. Anyway, she catches sight of Zack gesturing her over, and glances back at the flowers. "I'll see you tomorrow," she promises in a little voice before turning off the hose and walking over towards Zack, Millie, Sebastian, and co. (It should be mentioned, at this point, that she actually communicates with plants telepathically- also saying it verbally has been something she recently picked up, when her mother complained that she rarely hears her own daughter's voice.) Her pace is a bit slow, as though giving her time to suddenly turn and walk away at anytime. Magnolia always gives herself time for things like that, though she rarely changes her mind upon having decided something. The girl puts a lot of consideration into her actions, and so it is only natural that she be very good about following through with them.

Magnolia reaches the group, but at first says nothing. Seeing the look in Zack's eye, she can guess that he's about to unleash another plant pun on her. The girl often wonders at the fact that he hasn't just started calling her Lorax, as some of the children in her elementary classes had been fond of doing. The young man seems to have a bottomless supply of flora-based word play, leading her to suspect that he spends altogether too much time thinking up various puns- not only for her ability, she is sure, but for others as well. Well, she hasn't seen him aim his pun gun towards other abilities very much, but quietly believes that he must have them stored up, even if they aren't all unleashed onto some poor student as they are upon her.

The young woman smiles gratefully at Millie, who miles and greets her before filling her in on the most recent subject, which is, predictably, After School Club. The meetings aren't exactly mandatory, but even those who abstain from using their abilities at the fights show up- and even people whose powers aren't really much use in an offensive situation make an appearance, Magnolia and the rest of the bottom rung being a rather good example of this. She can speak with plants, but lacks the step further of controlling them. Her gymnastics might have given her some sort of edge, were this normal fighting among normal students. It doesn't matter anyway- Magnolia isn't really one for violence, attending meetings only due to societal pressure and a general feeling of obligation. Other than the smile, Maggie does little to contribute to the continuing conversation, instead listening- she's always been a rather good listener.

A soft greeting grabs her attention, coming from Amelia Veris. Magnolia knows her, but not intimately. She nods in recognition with another small smile. In regards to Millie's question, Magnolia is rather indifferent. In fact, she has begun to consider going on without the others, so that she can water her garden.

Milo raises an eyebrow at Jason's mask, which he sees for a bit before the boy recognizes him as being his friend, best friend in fact, and allows the facade to drop. Sometimes, Milo thinks that the boy wears the mask so often that it will stick, and he'll lose touch with his actual personality. While Jason's facade may be a lot more polite and such, Milo would hate to see the reality go- it's far preferable in its sincerity than any amount of kind lies. "Jason," Milo responds to the young man's statement of his name, grinning despite the tired expression on Jason's face. If he hadn't already been certain that the boy had been fighting with his sister, this would be evidence enough- Jason always has this tired sort of expression after such interactions. Well, and after school, at times, if he has been playing the part for too long- which often happens. Milo will never really understand how he can stand to pretend for so long, or do it so convincingly. Due to lack of practice, Milo himself is a terrible liar- his face is an open book. It's just as well, for he has no real secrets.

"Well, it probably helps that they are a good bit younger than me, y'know? But I think that the problem is how overbearing you can be," Milo doesn't even consider glazing over it, bluntly admitting that Jason can be a bit suffocating in regards to trying to get his sister to fit into the neatly made box he has prepared for her. "I mean, with Leia and Alex, I let them do what they want, so long as they aren't going to, y'know, injure themselves or something. They are their own people, not just my sisters," he continues, trying to be helpful but unlikely to get through to Jason. For as long as Milo can remember, Jason has had this sort of personality, and he doubts that any amount of advice will fix it.

"Probably doesn't help that you keep trashing her friends, though," Milo adds. He's friends with a few of the people in the bottom rung as well, Josh and Maggie at least, but being more easygoing, doesn't expect Jason to like them just because he does. He just ignores things like that, anyway- it rolls right over him, so long as his family isn't involved. A person could yell and scream insults at Milo's face without the boy batting an eye, but say something wrong about his mother or sisters, and they will find themselves in the hospital with plenty of burn marks from his energy blast.

"Best burgers and shakes in town- of course, the usual place," Milo says with another grin, happy to have the chance to deal with his growling stomach. He has pocket money from fixing people's cars and doing odd jobs around, and it very often goes towards food- the young man has a ravenous appetite.

With the goal of food now in mind, Milo sets off with Jason to the diner, happy that he can hit two birds with one stone- his own hunger, and distracting Jason from the argument with Merida. It's a short walk, luckily.

"Well, it probably helps that they are a good bit younger than me, y'know? But I think that the problem is how overbearing you can be," Jason looked away, refusing to listen to Milo's words. He had always been rather stubborn about his point of views on things. Clenching his hands tightly, Jason waited for Milo to continue. "I mean, with Leia and Alex, I let them do what they want, so long as they aren't going to, y'know, injure themselves or something. They are their own people, not just my sisters," Jason opened his mouth to argue but finally decided against the idea. He didn't like fighting with his best friend. Both of them had a rather different views about things. And really, they could sit all day arguing about their differences. There were things that Jason accepted about Milo and vice versa. To be honest, it was a miracle on its own that the two of them could be best friends.

"Probably doesn't help that you keep trashing her friends, though," Jason laughed out loud at this. Oh, yes, that was probably correct. "Haha, you're probably true about that..." He nodded. Yeah, he knew that already. Trashing one's friends didn't really leave a good impression. However, he couldn't, really couldn't control his annoyance when he looked at Merida's friends. He still didn't understand what Merida saw in the bunch of them... because Jason seriously couldn't. He sent Milo a small smile and shrugged. "Let's drop it, kay? I don't feel like talking about her...I may consider your words later..."

"Best burgers and shakes in town- of course, the usual place," Jason chuckled at Milo's tactic, finding it amusing. He walked faster than Milo and called over his shoulder as he broke into a run "Race you there, Milo~ Winner gets a free meal!" He grinned and ran out of the school, determined not to lose to Milo in this silly race.

''You shouldn't of tried to help me you two...I know you meant well but I can...deal w-....with it okay?'' Josh said and tried to pull Merida's leg out of the soil.

"Oh come on, I can do it myself..." Merida said and shook her leg slightly, sending dirt everywhere. Punching Josh's shoulder lightly, she continued seriously. "Never say that again, okay? We are friends. We look out for each other... Even I don't go around and tell everybody that I can deal with everything myself." She held Jamie to get up and nodded in agreement with what he said.

"Bullshit. You would have come running if it was me or Merida who was in trouble. That's what being a friend is. Oh, Jesus, I sound like some Disney Channel character," Smirking, Merida joked lightly. "Yeah, and the next thing we know, you will start spilling stuffs about world peace and unicorns..." She patted Jamie's shoulder roughly and said. "However, I agree with Jamie. I won't ever abandon my friends. Never ever."

She coughed, looking terribly awkward by the 'cheesy' conversation. "Can we change subject now? Talking about mushy mushy things isn't my strong suit. I prefer my fist to my words..." As a teacher approached the group and took Josh with him, Merida turned to face Jamie. "Let's go to the Club first, shall we? We can find two seats for Maggie and Josh, too..." She picked up her school bag and slung it over her shoulder. She turned to face Jamie with a raised eyebrow as if asking 'Are you coming or what?'

"We may have to fight today, just so you know. I think I may have accidentally pissed off Labelle... He's a fucking sadomasochist if I have ever seen one and believe me... Pretty sure the bastard, Jason I mean, is one, too..." Merida informed at last as she remembered Charley's warning. Oh well, she would deal with it if he really challenged her. She was just worried that Jamie might hurt himself. She could probably take a few hits before she failed or something. However, unlike Jason, she didn't want to be hurt. Merida snorted and muttered under her breaths "Wanting to be hurt to get high... Why the fuck do I have to have such troublesome twin?"

Milo can tell by the way that Jason clenches his fists that he doesn't really like the critiques, but he isn't going to take back what he considers to be the truth, even if his best friend isn't to keen on what Milo believes to be the way things are. He's fairly certain that this is another reason for the constant fighting between Jason and Merida- both of them strike him as rather stubborn, though of course he doesn't know Merida very well, and therefore unlikely to ever relent on each other. Once either of them perceives something to be the truth, they will not let up or back down on that opinion, sticking to it even as it pulls them down. As far as he knows, Merida still holds him in disdain simply for befriending Jason, and that would be an example of the stubborn opinions of hers that rival Jason's- He could save twenty puppies from drowning, and she'd likely still find some reason to dislike Milo.

When Jason asks to drop the subject, Milo is more than willing to end it, because it may lead to a disagreement, and he is generally not much of an arguments type of guy- he can challenge a person to all manners of competitions, but isn't the sort to enjoy arguments or shouting or anything that he presumes comes along with such things. Luckily, an easygoing disposition often helps him to avoid being in such a situation- often, but not always. Today, though, there will be no argument, and for that he is thankful. Besides, when he's truly angry, Jason can be quite a frightful enemy to have, though Milo has never been a target in such a mood- and if he has been, it was only very briefly, before amends could be made between the two friends.

Milo's eyebrows shoot up when Jason suddenly launches forward, suddenly laying down the terms for a challenge that Milo had never agreed to. Still, he knows that Milo is a sucker for competition, and sure enough, soon the young man propels himself forward after his friend, determining not to lose his hard-earned pocket money by having to pay for two meals- it's already expensive enough to deal with his own bottomless pit of a stomach. "In your dreams, buddy!" he shouts after Jason, pushing himself in order to catch up with his fellow racer, who had something of a headstart thanks to his utilization of the element of surprise.

Both of the young men are rather athletic, making it a good match indeed, and eventually Milo is running beside Jason, the two neck and neck, both having a good deal of stamina- though Jason has the advantage of not having to go so quickly at the beginning, as Milo had to do in order to catch up with him and make up for lost ground. "You're buying me an extra large milk shake!" Milo declares, though the two remain matched at pace, despite Milo's best efforts to surpass him then.
