Brief History: Mel became an Acolyte in the Erubesco military, inspired by the Ser Sage and other military films he watched as a child. His dreams of military grandeur were whisked away in his first assignment, though, as he was essentially "parked" as part of an outpost monitoring division known for seeing little action.
While there, he and the other three Erubescans working in the outpost responded to an alarm that forces had attached to the former hideout of the Schippers brothers. Mel's team was ambushed by Polium researcher, Tidus, an electricity gifted with anger issues. Tidus killed two of Mel's teammates, and severely injured another, Saffir. Mel and Saffir were then attacked by the Schippers brothers themselves and taken hostage by the Wanderers, They narrowly managed to escape on a fluke when Spire Schippers forced Mel to lead the terrorists back to the Erubescan vehicle they arrived in.
Mel was drugged by the Wanderers, and his memory is hazy, but he is frequently plagued by nightmares and flashbacks from the trauma.
He is currently stationed as a patrol officer at the Citadel, and has been barred from deployment awaiting further psychological evaluation. His teammate, Saffir, survived the disaster as well, and is now his (sort of kind of if you really push it) girlfriend.
