Introduction
.
It is a school for children who have been gifted with an Alice, a special ability that makes them superior to those of the average human. The school is located somewhere in Tokyo. The school grounds contain three levels of education: elementary, middle, and high. Along with these three buildings, there is a hospital, a main building, and the Central Town, where shops managed by Alice-bearing artisans sell goods produced with the help of their Alices.
The school may sound like a pleasant place, yes, but it does have many faces. Due to constant threat by kidnappers and slave traders, vocal and written communication is limited to within the Academy. The grounds are closely guarded, and heavy security and electrified fences deter students from attempting to leave. Because of these rules, most students grow up without contact with their parents at all, let alone siblings. Along with these issues, there are also undercover jobs that some of the students must fulfill with their over-powerful abilities. These jobs are extremely exhausting and difficult, so they are usually attempted to be kept secret. The one in charge of these situations is a man named Persona, whose personality is just as sickening as his appearance.
Recently there has been rumors of a rebel group who are aiming to uncover the secrets that the teachers are keeping from them. They’ve named themselves the Black Cats in memory of past student Natsume. Because Natsume and his friends – including the legendary Mikan – couldn’t succeed in returning the school back to their normal works, the students have taken it upon themselves to make changes.
So what will you do? Join them? Or fight them?

I wonder how the world has changed since I was brought here, the blonde thought as she sat up Indian style on the muscley branch. How long had it been since she’d last seen Pa and Ma? It didn’t matter. As long as they were safe then she was happy. Yellow eyes as impassive as the rest of her features, Rue leapt gracefully down from her branch and to the sidewalk. She began the tedious journey down the sidewalk and towards the front of the High-School branch.
“Tsukiko-sempai~!” came a sudden shout.
On instinct, Rue stepped to the right and halted with one foot still outstretched before her. Moments later a lanky redhead flew through the air and crashed to the ground where she would have been standing. She gazed at the moaning figure for a moment, lips lined, before stepping over the body and continuing on her way. You’d think that we weren’t prepared for the fanboy behaviour, she thought with a ghost of a sigh.

Grumbling under his breath, the dark haired teen threw on his uniform, before heading into the bathroom. He knew his cousin Madoka would already be up. Sheesh. What was wrong with that kid anyway?
Madoka....Lyle shook his head rapidly, getting his cousin out of his mind. He didn't need stray thoughts today.
He brushed past the other boys on his floor, who were just as late as he was. They parted like the Red Sea for him. "It seems as if my reputation still stands," Lyle muttered under his breath as he entered the bathroom. He glared balefully at the mirror, all the while resisting the urge to scare the smaller boys crowded at another one of the sinks.
Finishing up his morning routine, Lyle grabbed his briefcase - papers sticking out of the corners - and headed out of the dorm. He stifled a yawn, as he began the walk towards the high school.
“Tsukiko-sempai~!” came a sudden shout.
Lyle moved out of the way as a redhead ran by him, falling onto the ground where Rue had previously been standing. Lyle looked at Rue impassively. Mutual respect flashed through his eyes. He knew she was another one Persona was keeping an eye on - hence the Control Device. But he hadn't talked to her much. He wasn't that great of a conversation starter.
He just walked silently.
"Ohayou~!" Madoka waved at the others in his classroom. He scanned the area, before hurriedly fixing one of the crooked desks by the window. It was then that he noticed a horrible, horrible, thing.
Wailing in despair, Madoka rushed to one of the desks near the back, as it teetered back and forth. Crouching down, the white haired boy stared, absolutely horrified, at the unbalanced desk.
"Someone get me cardboard." He whirled around, looking at his classmates. "Hurry, hurry!!"
"Kojime-san....I don't think--" one of his classmates, a girl approached him warily.
"No, no." Madoka cut her off. "It must be perfect. Where's my cardboard?" the silverette's powder blue eyes scanned the classroom. "I'll be right back. Nobody move!" He ran out the door, heading towards the art classroom, where there would no doubt be both cardboard and super glue.
He could feel a panic attack settling in.
What if they didn't have any cardboard? What would he do then?

Kazuhiro had already been showered, dressed and prepared. You could of called him an early riser, because early birds always caught the worm. Something like that, anyway. With one last look in the mirror, the young boy flashed his beaming smile and skipped off past Lyle, resisting the urge to pat him on the back. Lighten his day, make him smile. His mother used to say that a smile was a chain reaction. For some reason, he doubted that was the case when it came to Lyle Canon. He still tried. Shoving his hands deep into his front pockets, he started his trek towards the academy. It was only when a redhead barrelled past him that he shook himself from his daydreams, and caught himself from tumbling over. “Hey—...” He yelped, sidestepping away, just in time to see the kid trip over Rue's extended leg. Fanboys. Why, he wondered, does everyone flock to her like that? He found no answers. Popularity was lost on him. You either liked someone for who they were, or you didn't.
A look of recognition passed his features, just for a split second before fading away. Control devices. Two words that could send his optimism plummeting—and he wasn't the only one wearing them, either—, even if he sometimes forgot that the bracelets on his wrist signified that he wasn't free. They jangled limply around his errant wrists, a little less than an accessory than a shock collar. None of them were free. Rue and Lyle were just as much under Persona' control as he was; they were birds with clipped wings, hopping around at the bottom of a cage. Kazuhiro still offered Rue a flash of his crooked smile, accompanied by a wave. “Mornin' Tsuki-sempai, Lyle-kun,” He greeted, rather cheerfully, before skipping off ahead of them. He was filled with boundless energy, so only those with the greatest patience could tolerate him. And only those who didn't call him Frankenstein we're worth the effort.

Almost missing the bathroom door on the way to it, she grabbed her full makeup bag and hairbrush and got herself going. She looked in the mirror and looked at the scar that fell down beside her right eye. She didn't talk about how she got it, heck she didn't let anyone see it! Brushing her hair as quickly as she could, she made it fall to just below her shoulders, her bangs fell over her right side covering her sky like blue eye and the lovely scar. She then applied some black eyeliner to her bottom lid and put some mascara on. Then with a quick flip of her hand she had the blue eyeshadow out and was applying it to her eyelid. "Perfect!" She grinned in the mirror. With her last touch of brushing her teeth and putting some lip gloss on she grabbed her skaters, as well as her backpack, and ran out the door putting her shoes on as she ran.
As she headed outside she didn't stop to catch her breath she just kept running. She actually almost bumped into a few people on her sprint to class. She couldn't be late she just couldn't. If she was she usually got punished, and she hated getting hurt. Of coarse no one likes to get hurt or anything but... she's one of those if she stubs her toe she'll cry for an hour but you say her hair looks ugly, well she'll make a smart comment to make sure you know that her hair is amazing. As she got closer to the school she had to slow down. She half hoped no one was going to talk to her, but of coarse, if someone did she would be more than excited to talk.

"The high school section needed all the cardboard. Come to the Art Room in the High School if cardboard is needed."
Madoka could have cried - both with joy and with frustration. The desk was in dire need of cardboard - and they MOVED IT TO THE HIGH SCHOOL! At least there's still hope. He thought doggedly, before exhaling sharply.
He started heading out the front door, breezing past a teacher who was heading to home room. "Kojime-kun! Where are you going?" the teacher called out.
"Cardboard!" was Madoka's reply as he tore up the hill towards the high school that loomed above. Along the way, he spotted his cousin. And Tsukiko-senpai, as well as Tsubaya-senpai. He stopped, momentarily forgetting about the cardboard (a grand feat!), in favor of bowing respectfully to the three high schoolers.
Lyle looked up as Kazuhiro approached. The dark haired boy's eyes narrowed. The sixteen year old with the staples at the corner of his mouth had far too much energy. He ran his right thumb viciously over the ring on his left thumb, hating the fact that it chained him and kept him bound so much. He glared at the ground, continuing to walk in silence.
He didn't bothering correcting his kouhai. It wasn't Lyle-kun. It was Canon-senpai. Senpai. Whatever. He'd let it pass this time. It was then that Madoka ran up, cheeks flushed and eyes panicked. Lyle stared impassively at his cousin, while Madoka looked back, almost frantic.
"Lyle-kun!" he cried. "I need to find the cardboard!"
Lyle narrowed his eyes. There. Again with the wrong honorific. What was with these people?! "Why?" he asked sharply.
"There's a desk...and it's uneven!" Madoka practically wailed. "I need help fixing it!"

As Cleo continued on, she thought of how her life changed as she came to this place. Born in England, then Raised in Japan. How different could life get. She walked into the Middle School section, not missing a step in her smooth gait, and headed for her classroom. She carried no backpack or such. Why should she? Taking a seat in her classroom, she waited for class to begin, propping her legs up on her desk, and sat back with her hands behind her head.
---x---
Riko sat still in his seat, Eyes glancing around the room in a cautious manor. Well, Not so much Cautious as to waiting. Patience. Those sort of emotions. They played will on his face. Others tended to highlight his deficits. Things that made him worry, tended to make his faults shine brighter than his wonderful Blue eyes. Either way, his Emotions could always be told by his face. A small Brown bag lay rested at his feet.

"Onii-san," Michio called shyly, waving slightly but overall remaining fairly still. He brightened at the small smile that lifted the corners of her lips. He moved towards her, running in that cute childish way that was almost a skip. As soon as he was close enough, he jumped at her to embrace her.
It was a heart-warming, rare scene to watch. Several sighs and smiles lifted up the general area. Rue held Michio to her in genuine care. Again, it was a rare scene to see her in such a pleasant mood. Perhaps it was even more rare for her lips to be so upturned, even though it was a light smile that broke out on her face.
"I have to go to class, Michio," the blonde said finally and unfurled her arms from around the small boy. "I'll see you later, ok?" she added gently.
"Will you help me write a letter to Mommy?" he asked brightly, unaware.
Rue's expression didn't falter, although a silent pity enveloped her. "Definately. Go to class now, Michio." She turned him around and gave him a little pat on the bottom in the general direction of the Elementary Building. With that, she turned as well and entered the highschool.

“An uneven desk?” Kazuhiro quarried, arching his eyebrows in genuine confusion. His short attention span got the better of him and he turned in time to see a small boy bounding towards Rue, a childish gait that was nearly too cute to bare. Another smile threatened to tear the staples from his face, he had to hold a hand to his lips to keep himself from grinning. Sometimes, he wished that he hadn't been an only child so that he could feel the joys of having a sibling—sister, brother, anyone—, his stomach sunk lightly at the thought. He forced himself to look away, to stare at the looming buildings that tied his stomach into knots. He felt like the touching scene wasn't meant for his prying eyes, a business all of its' own and he respected what little privacy Rue had.
He waved to Michio idly as he parted from Rue, mouthing a silent goodbye before hurrying up the stairway. Kazuhiro halted for a moment, rubbing his chin and sidling out of the door. “I've got some cardboard in my locker, Koji-kun!” His stomach flopped with embarrassment, even if there was nothing humiliating about his comment. Speaking to Madoka left him bumbling over his words, turned him into a floundering fish who didn't have the sense to drag itself back into the water. It was strange how things worked like that. He got along fine with the silently brooding Lyle, and even the respected Rue—something was different about the white-haired boy.

He let go of his senpai's hands, moving back and dancing in a small circle. Lyle rolled his eyes, but there seemed to be some sort of affection glimmering in the usually hostile boy's gaze. Perhaps some sort of childhood memory. Madoka smiled broadly - it always brightened his day when his cousin actually showed some sort of emotion.
He walked, er, skipped, happily alongside the high schoolers, humming softly to himself - completely oblivious to what afflictions seemed to have struck Kazuhiro.
Lyle, on the other hand, did notice. He noticed how Kazuhiro seemed almost...uncertain. Which was different from when the boy with the staples around his lips usually acted. Lyle, being as observant as he was, stowed away this information. He kept silent, gaze wandering over to Rue as she greeted her little brother. They were close, the two of them.
Lyle glanced at Madoka. Close? The two of them? As if.

Sakii chuckled slightly and walked toward the direction he heard Aya calling from. Soon he saw the young boy running through a crowd of people franticly.'' Ayayse!'' He called lightly, but loud enough for the small kid to hear.'' Nii-san?'' he asked looking around, a big grin plastering itself to his face.'' Over here,'' he said waving his hand a bit.'' And i found someone.'' He said holding Tonosama up, the small kitten making a mewing sound in protest.
Sakii smiled as Aya ran over to him hugging his legs.'' Hey kiddo.'' He smiled patting his dark brown hair, which was in equal color to sakii's own hair color.'' Why did Tonosama run off like that?'' Sakii as handing his little brother the kitten the picking the boy and the kitten up.'' i dont know but he just escaped as i was trying to put him in his carrier.'' Aya said hugging Sakii. Sakii hugged back then put Aya down and smiled.'' Okay Aya i have to get to class i'll see you later.'' he said hugging the kid once more and then sprinting off to the high school.
He slowed to a stop when he saw Rue Tsukiko. He smiled and walked over to her, running a hand through his hair.'' Hello Rue-Chan.'' He said smirking and winking at her.

A voice dragged her back into reality and she was about to respond quietly when she realized who it was. Rue stared at him blankly, one eye-brow raised as if curious why he even dared speak to her. "Shunsuke, good morning," she replied dryly. It wasn't that she didn't like him, because she really did. Something about the way that he flirted just sort of pissed her off. "Annoying as ever I see," she added under her breath but loud enough for him to hear if he was focusing on her.

He tried not to think about anything too much, either. Assumptions were better left tucked under the rug, ignored and forgotten. Madoka seemed completely oblivious to his worries, which was a small relief. Happiness was contagious, and he found himself smiling softly at his exuberance. He wished that he could grin like that—full mouth of pearly teeth, no boundaries, no threat of his mouth splitting in two—, he thought it might've been nice. Finally, Kazuhiro reached his locker and fiddled with the lock. With an audible click, it swung open; the older boy was left fumbling inside for his light blue cardboard, which he eventually found. “Hope the colours fine, it's all I've got—ah...” Kazuhiro offered it, hesitating when he saw the awful scribbles on the back. One might've been an attempt at Rue fighting off a dragon, but he wasn't completely sure.
“And... ignore that, and that,” Kazuhiro lilted, handing Madoka the cardboard. It was only when Shunsuke greeted Rue that his attention was brought back to reality. Quietly, he thanked the Gods for the distraction. He didn't want to see the look on Madoka's face when he spotted the crude, caveman drawings scrawled across the back of it. What had it even been for? An art project? Mentally reprimanding himself, Kazuhiro bowed deeply and excused himself, quickly walked towards his next class.
