❀ Theatre ❀
An old passion, Jacob has 'performed' since he was in the simple, cheesy Elementary school plays his parents were forced to go to. Now, he's grown to a weekly meeting in downtown, at an older theatre.

❀ Music ❀
Hand him any type of string instrument and he can play you anything you wish to hear. He loves listening to music, trying to make his own, and playing instruments, even though he's sure his wife is tired of hearing them.

❀ His Wife ❀
There is nothing in this universe, or lifetime that can compare to his love for her. She's the stars on his darkest nights, and the sun on his brightest days. It's his turn to be her shooting star.

❀ Children ❀
Jacob wants a family as badly as he wants to be 'found' by a talent agent. With the unexpected loss of their first child, he'll do anything to have another baby.

|History|
[font=garamond]
Jacob Daniel Colinsworth was born to a Mr. Jacob Colinsworth, and a Ms. Annie Marie Lonish. They were a lovely couple, having dated through the years of highschool and college. They married before having Jacob, and stayed that way until Jacob was about.. 5 or so. From then on, he didn't have a father, just a bold mother who wasn't afraid of anyone. His father, having had a horrible drinking problem, as well as being a smoker, had driven Annie to her roots, and kicked the old bloke out into the streets. Jacob, nevertheless, had never seen him again. To make it easier, he just tells people that he's never met his own flesh and blood, so they won't poke around his family's business.

From then on, it was a normal childhood. His mother eventually gave him a sister, whom he hasn't heard from in years. They weren't the closest of siblings, giving truth to the common brother and sister rivalry rumors, but he loved his Katelyn none the less. It hurts, but if he'd seen her right in front of him today, he wouldn't even recognize her. The last time he saw her was years earlier. He was coming home to visit his mom, after a much regretted accident which he'll get to in a minute, and she was there with her, at the age of 16. She'd apologized for his losses, and then disappeared. He didn't notice until the day he left.

As for the accident, when Jacob was 18 he found out that his then 'fiance', Mandy, had found she was pregnant with his child. Being a man, he stepped up to the plate and married the girl, unofficially, in a courthouse lobby with a preacher that had nothing else better to do. Nine months later, she birthed a little boy, who had her bright green eyes, and his dark features. His name was Danny, and Jacob loved the boy with his heart, as well as his mother. He'd taken on a job down at the shipyard to make ends meet for the little family, and they rented out an apartment in Manhattan, where he'd grown up, and his mother wasn't too far away in Brooklyn. They were living the dream, as close as they could get anyway with Jacob working full-time, and Mandy working full-time as a babysitter so she wouldn't have to leave Danny in a daycare.

Everything was fine, until one day, Jacob was at work, and he got a call from the hospital. Mandy and Danny had been killed in a horrific car accident involving an 18-wheeler, and two cars. He doesn't remember much of it, since his life was then consumed by alcohol just to keep himself from feeling too much, as per his alcoholism in the present. He'd then made a getaway to his mother's, selling the apartment in Manhattan after the funeral.

He likes to say it was a part of the grief, but he doesn't know what it was. Jacob joined the military the day after the funeral, and went overseas as soon as possible. 2 1/2 years later, he was discharged for injury to his left leg. Although, it was just a flesh wound then, now it's barreled into a disability. When he returned to the States, he had no ties besides his mother. He stayed home most of the time, besides doctor appointments for his leg. If it wasn't for his mother's constant encouraging, he would have never went to college to get on with his life. To make something of himself now that he had no ties.

There, he majored in the Arts, and minoring in theatre classes as well as music. He met his Anastasia there, and his life turned around. It had been nearly 3 years when he met Ana since Mandy's death, and he, of course, wasn't the most open, but she brought him out of his plastered shell, and he's never let go of her since. Maybe that's why he's so over-protective now, as he wasn't in the past, and he lost everything. Since the death of his and Ana's daughter, he's been stronger, and had moved on to help his wife overcome this. He's been there before, even though she doesn't know about that part of Jacob Colinsworth's life. He hopes she never does.

Jacob stood as he always did, standing by the counter, his cream-colored mug full of hot coffee. It was just like he liked it, almost black, with a pinch of sugar. It made him feel like a man, and 'strengthened' him. Except this morning, it was unusually dull in there otherwise colorful home.

Anastasia hadn't been pregnant for awhile now, but.. there was no prize for going through all the morning sickness, back cramps, and contractions as promised 9 months before. Their daughter didn't make it, due to complications during the birth. Perhaps the cord wrapped around it's neck? Perhaps not, he couldn't remember. He hadn't exactly wanted to remember that day, so his brain did him a favor for once, and let him forget it somewhat. Although, it wasn't the same at home. Anastasia didn't want his love it seemed, and he was going to fix it. They were married for a reason.

Then, when all hope seemed lost, he heard about Sunny Side Therapeutic Centers hosting a trip to a resort. A sort of.. couples getaway from life itself. It promised the Hawaiian Islands in all their glory, and he could almost smell the sunscreen and alcoholic pineapple-based drinks.

Now, he just needed his wife. "Anastasia, love?" He quietly rapped his knuckles on the door, it creaking open softly. "Love, are you awake yet?" He asked softly, sitting on the edge of the bed, by her feet, his hand on her right calf. His voice husky, yet soft.

Anastasia hadn't slept very long, she couldn't. She found herself waking up in the middle of the night in a panic. She couldn't help but find herself reliving that night they lost their baby girl. She knew deep down Jacob didn't blame her for the death but, to her it was her fault.

She should have known something was wrong, she should have been more careful. And now, what if she can't have children? What if they all end up like this? And now, she felt like they were just going through the motions of being married until one day when he would actually leave.

Annie found herself looking up at the ceiling just breathing in and out slowly as she just started thinking, well more like doubting everything and anything about her marriage with Jacob. She loved him and she wanted to show that she loved him but, instead she found herself pushing him away; not allowing him to hold her, not allowing him to try and comfort her, hell she barely talked to him after that night. She didn't know what to say to him or where to start.

All she knew is that she couldn't start now.

When she heard footsteps heading back towards the bedroom, she took a deep breath as she turned to her side facing away from the door. "Anastasia, love?"
She just let her eyes drift down to the blanket as she felt him sit at the foot of the bed. "Love, are you awake yet?" She moved her leg out of his grasp and up towards her as she took a deep breath and nodded. "Yea, I'm awake. What is it?" She asked not even turning around to face him.

"Yea, I'm awake. What is it?"

"I want you to get dressed for me." He said in the most encouraging tone he could. "I have a surprise for you, and you're going to enjoy it." He smiled sweetly, and leaned up, and kissed whatever part of her head was available for access.

He then got up, and continued to the closet, where he grabbed a nice button-down sea-green shirt, that brought out the the color in his eyes. He wore a dark gray vest over it, and wore darker jeans, and nice dress dressier shoes. "You doing okay, Ana?" He asked, sticking his head out of the door, but looking inside of his closet, so she wouldn't feel uncomfortable... he hoped.

He'd packed his suitcase the night before, just in case something happened. Jacob loved his wife eternally, but the fact that he didn't seem to exist anymore was getting to his head. He'd lost a child too, and he was trying to speed up his mourning to help her, and she just seemed so... distant.

"I want you to get dressed for me." She raised an eyebrow. "Why?"

"I have a surprise for you, and you're going to enjoy it."
She blinked slowly as she groaned. She didn't want to go anywhere and she certainly didn't want to go anywhere that was a surprise. All she wanted to do was stay in bed in her home and just be able to mourn the lost of her child. When Jacob gave her a kiss on the temple, Ana made sure her eyes were looking away from him and she moved around a bit after. From the corner of her eye she watched Jacob go to their closet and get changed. She sighed before finally getting herself up from the bed and sitting on the edge of the bed still looking away from the rest of the room. She ran her fingers through her golden locks before rubbing her eyes that were red from crying the night before. And even though she was able to push herself to sit, she couldn't bring herself to stand up and walk towards the closet to get changed especially with Jacob still in the room.

"You doing okay, Ana?"

"I'm doing fine, Jake." The answer was rushed and to the point. It wasn't true but, she didn't need Jacob feeling like he needed to come over and comfort her. Besides, the fact that he was making her go somewhere away from her home was just as bad as holding her and trying to tell her everything was going to be okay. As she looked at the wooden floor, she bit her lip before forcing herself up from the bed and towards her side of the closet.

She didn't even look at herself in the mirror, already knowing she looked like a mess with her messy blonde hair, blood red eyes, and sweatpants on. Usually Ana would never allow herself to stoop so low in her appearance but, for good reasons she had other things on her mind other than her appearance. She was quick to pick out an outfit and change into a white and grey striped shirt on over her black tank top and changed from her sweats into a regular pair of dark wash jeans.

She didn't even look at her husband as she asked him a question as she walked away from the closet and back to the bed.. "Jacob, where are we going? I'm really not in the mood for surprises."

"Jacob, where are we going? I'm really not in the mood for surprises."

Jacob wanted to snort at her inability to try to get over their loss. Yes, it was their loss. Not just hers. "That'd ruin the whole surprise, now wouldn't it? " He forced a smile, and walked over to her, tempted to kiss her head, but decided against it, resulting in a slow walk-by to get to the nightstand, where he took out his wallet, and spare house keys.

"Let me pack you a suitcase, and we'll be ready." Sighing, he ran a hand through his dark hair, his eyes shifting. "Go eat breakfast. " He turned a stern face towards her. It'd been a month almost now. They needed to move on with their lives. "If you don't eat here, then I'll make you do it in public." He added under his breath, and was neatly placing clothes in her suitcase.

They'd get the suite keys when he got there, to the resort. At least, he would get them, probably without her, and then drag her, claws flailing about and tears running down her face, to the room. She might just sit there, and he was prepared for that. At least then, he could celebrate for getting her to a different bedroom. He was already celebrating as she'd gotten dressed. Maybe things would turn over a new leaf today.

"That'd ruin the whole surprise, now wouldn't it?" She groaned as she threw her hands up in frustration. She rubbed one of her temples as she watched Jacob walk towards her only to walk past her and to the nightstand. When he tarted talking, she turned towards him. "Let me pack you a suitcase, and we'll be ready." She sighed as she realized there was no talking him out of his little surprise. She knew he wanted her to move on but, he didn't get it. He wasn't the one who felt like he had killed their child or that he could have done something to stop it. And until he felt that pain and guilt, he would never get how she felt.

"Go eat breakfast. "

"I'm not hungry." She said as she rubbed her hands through her hair as she looked down at the floor. "If you don't eat here, then I'll make you do it in public." She raised an eyebrow as she looked back at him. Ana rolled her eyes as she got up and made her way out of their room. "I'm not a child, Jacob. So, don't treat me like one." She said as she walked past him and out of the room. When she was walking in the hallway, she couldn't even bring herself to look at the closed door where their daughter would have been.

She knew inside there was nothing more than boxes on top of boxes of everything they would have needed from clothes to toys. They had everything ready for when it was time to come home from the hospital. And now, all of it was going to waste.

As she walked into the kitchen, she could smell the coffee which immediately made her wake up a bit. Not a lot but enough for her to make herself a cup and lean against the counter. As she sipped, the only thing on her mind was wonders of where Jacob was taking her and why it was a surprise and why she needed to bring a large suitcase.

And then it hit her, he was trying to make her go on some sort of vacation. Something she really wasn't in the mood for. And the second, she realized it, she was furious. So, in her mind she already planning her protest and argument for when he walked out of he bedroom and asked if she was ready to go.

"I'm not a child, Jacob. So, don't treat me like one."

Jacob sneered as he threw her luggage onto the bed, the top part flipping open, and he gently folded everything she'd need to go on this trip with him. He sighed as he finished, and sat on the bed, zipping the top part of the suitcase close, and looked at it.

- Months Earlier -

Anastasia and Jacob were the giggly, happy couple who were married and expecting their first child. He was attacking her with his kisses all over her, and she was squirming about and giggling, in all of her pregnancy glow. Jacob was kissing her skin, when Anastasia suddenly stopped him.

"Wh-what?" His eyes grew big, as she was good time into the pregnancy, and he was on top of her. "What if the baby comes early, Jacob? Is the suitcase packed? " Jacob chuckled, "I'm pretty sure I packed it a Month #3." He smiled, and he gave in to her pleas of checking to make sure. As she sat up on the bed, with her belly, he walked to the closet and grabbed the suitcase. " You see, I-" He was stopped short as the suitcase flung open, empty. His wife let out a laugh.

"That's definitely packed." Anastasia teased him, and Jacob blushed. "I'm sorry, love. I thought it was. Here, we'll pack it right now." He did the same movement as he had in the 'future', and they spent the rest of the day, picking which shirts and jeans would give off her motherly glow best. Then, as the sun was setting, he zipped it up in the same movements, and he put it back safely into the closet.

Then, he found his beautiful wife looking over the infant's clothes in the room designated for the Nursery, which used to be Jacob's 'Man Cave' where he and his friends, who are no longer in contact with him, would hang out, while Anastasia and their wives talked of nonsense. It was an amazing day, and he didn't realize how much he was affected by the loss of a child.

Until he was warped back to reality, and he was crying on top of the suitcase he'd packed for Anastasia.

As she waited for Jacob, Ana found herself in the living room just sitting there, messing with her wedding ring as she thought about every little things that could have and has gone wrong, she knew it was a month ago and she knew what had happened to their daughter but, what she didn't know is what they were suppose to do now. What if this was a sign that she couldn't carry a child for a full nine months? They could always adopt but, they always talked about how they wanted children of their own and how she wanted them to look just like their father with the black hair and stunning green eyes.

Now they would never know what their daughter was going to look like when she got older. And on top of the loss of her child, she felt like sooner or later she was going to lose Jacob and if he did leave she couldn't blame anyone but herself. Which is why she found herself pushing him away, in her head she knew for a fact he would leave her for someone better who he could actually have a family with and if she pushed him away, it would soften the blow. She looked at the time on her phone, ten minutes. It was taking him ten minutes to pack her suitcase? What was he doing, imagining everything on her? She groaned in annoyance as she got up for the leather couch and started walking towards their room to start their little, petty argument.

"Jacob, I don't know where were going but, I'll be damned before you try to whisk me away on some 'magical' vacation to try and 'fix' me." She said before even being the room, she was walking through the hallway. "All I want to do is stay home and while I know you don't give a shit about what I wa--.." She opened the door and just saw Jacob crying over the suitcase. The sight made her calm down a bit and take a deep breath. "Jacob, She walked slowly in front of him. "Jake, what's wrong?" She asked as she squatted down in front of him with a look of concern on her face. She wanted to soften the blow if he left her but, for now he was still her husband and even if she didn't show it, she was still beyond crazy about him.

"Jacob, I don't know where were going but, I'll be damned before you try to whisk me away on some 'magical' vacation to try and 'fix' me. All I want to do is stay home and while I know you don't give a shit about what I wa--.." She opened the door. "Jacob...Jake, what's wrong?"

Jacob hadn't even entirely realized he was hiding his face in his arms on top of Anastasia's suitcase. He sniffed, and put his hands over his eyes for a second, before looking at her, crouched down in front of him, still seemingly the heart-broken woman she'd been for the past month. "D-Do you remember the last time I zipped that thing shut?" He asked low, and bit his lip. "You and me.. in this very room.. and you were.." He looked down, almost half-chuckling as tears rolled down his scruffy face. "You were trying on shirts and dresses to see which ones you wanted me to pack for you. " He felt his face heat up again. "We were pre-packing the suitcase." He blurted out, and hid his face again.

It was so not the manly thing to do, but he was realizing just what had happened, and couldn't imagine the things Anastasia was feeling about all of it. "I love you." He looked up from his hands, and didn't make any moves to touch her, he knew she didn't like it lately, at all. "I am so proud of you, you're the strongest, and most independent woman I've known in my entire life, Annie." He spoke softly, stopping to clear his throat.

"You have been.." He wiped his eyes. "through Hell and back, I swear." He nervously shifted, and looked at her. "I am so sorry, if I have made anything worse." He knew his eyes were tearing up again, and he didn't care.

"D-Do you remember the last time I zipped that thing shut? You and me.. in this very room.. and you were.. You were trying on shirts and dresses to see which ones you wanted me to pack for you." She took a deep breath as she looked down at her hands before looking back at her husband as she started talking again. "We were pre-packing the suitcase." Ana hated seeing him like this, ever. She was the emotional, high strung one of the two and when she saw Jacob upset she never had any idea of what to say. All she would do is hold him and tell him everything was going to be fine.

But, she couldn't do that now. She didn't know if everything was going to be fine. To her everything seemed to be falling apart and there was nothing the couple could do to stop it. It seemed like they were just destined to either move from one another or to be like this forever. "I love you." She looked him in the eyes as she messed with her ring. "Jacob, stop." She said as she looked down to look to her hands once more.

"I am so proud of you, you're the strongest, and most independent woman I've known in my entire life, Annie." She took a deep breath. "Jake, really stop talking. I'm not that strong." She objected. She didn't want to hear it because all he was doing was pulling her back towards him and as much as she missed him. This was also the reason she pushed him away, she didn't or couldn't see him be like this. And even though she told him to stop talking, she knew he wasn't really listening. He has obviously been holding this is and no matter how much she told him to stop he was only going to stop when he had gotten everything off his chest. "You have been through Hell and back, I swear." She cleared her throat. "I am so sorry, if I have made anything worse." She released a small chuckle as she shook her head and looked up at him. Looking at him, she couldn't just shrug him off. She could do that later when they got wherever they were going. But, for the time being. She needed to be there for him. She wiped the tears away from his eyes before taking a deep breath.

"Baby, you're not making anything worse. You're just trying to move on and I'm holding you back, I'm holding us back. And I don't want to hold you back anymore," She shifted on her feet as she slowly reached for his hand only to put hers on top of his. "Go, okay? Go wherever you planned on taking me but, go without me and try to move forward because that's obviously not going to happen if I go with you." She was being honest, she knew how she was going to be and that wasn't going to help anything. And, even though she knew he wasn't going to leave without her, it was worth a shot.

She couldn't even bring herself to look at him as he stuttered for words. She just big down on her lip, trying to stop herself from letting the tears drop down her face. When he rubbed her thumb over her hand, she knew whatever he was going to say was going to hurt. "F--Fine.." She looked at him as she nodded.

"Fine."

She watched him get up and put the suitcase back into the closet. She cleared her throat as she realized what was going on. He was really leaving her. She watched him grab his bag, but the second he walked to the door she couldn't bring herself to watch him leave. She just put her head down and heard him start to cry which only made the tears start rolling down her face.

She got up from her squatting position and sat down on their bed where she just hid her face in her arms and sniffled. No tears, no wailing, she just sniffled and tried to calm herself down. What was she suppose to do now? Part of her wanted to call him and tell him she didn't mean it and the other part of her just wanted to crawl back into bed and stay there. Yet, she couldn't bring herself to do either. She was just frozen there as she tried to think of what to do next.
When she heard the door shut, she only hide her face in her hands. She couldn't believe that he was actually leaving her but when she heard his car start, she just nodded to herself as she wiped the tears away.

Jacob had cleaned himself up a good bit before he actually left the car. He stopped by Anastasia's favourite cafe and had breakfast alone, sitting in the spot they always had, and turning the ring on his finger blankly. While he sat there, a little girl, with stunning green eyes, and dark hair, much like himself gave him a napkin. He smiled at the small girl, which she returned, and something about her made him think of Anastasia. He felt enlightened after that, and he stood to leave, and did a sweep of the cafe floor, when the little girl was nowhere to be seen. Jake felt odd about it, but shrugged it off, as he pushed open the door.

After his brunch now, Jacob made his way to Teller & Son Attorneys at Law. It was owned by Mr. Mark Teller and his son, Richard. Jacob only knew of them, because they had done business for his father many years ago, and pleased his father, so he decided to try them out.

It was a large building, a dark charcoal gray brick made up the structure, and there were large glass doors for the entrance. There was even a small canopy over the entrance, and Jacob walked in. "Hello, sir. How may I help you?" A woman with peculiar small glasses, and a tightly held bun asked him, and Jacob looked up. "I need to speak with Mr. Teller." He said gruffly, and cleared his throat. The woman nodded towards a small waiting room full of identical dark green uncomfortable chairs, and he sat in the middle of the row against the wall. Jacob casually tapped his foot lightly to the soft beat of the elevator music playing, thumbing his way through the latest issue of some celebrity gossip magazine. He sighed after about half an hour of repeating music, and smiled nonchalantly as a man walked up to him.

"Mr. Colinsworth, I presume?" The tall man, in a nicely ironed, striped suit spoke as he held out his hand. Jacob nodded, standing and shaking the offered hand. "Yes sir. " The man then turned and walked down a narrow hallway, where he turned a distinct left, and shut the office door behind Jacob, who entered after he did. "What can I do for you, son?" The older man, who was presumably Mr. Teller, smiled. Jacob sat up straighter, and looked down for only a moment before looking the man in the eyes. "I need to sue the Gladson Memorial Hospital for the death of my daughter." He sneered, and Mr. Teller nodded. "I understand, son. Now, do you have proof that we could use against them?"

The estranged father hadn't thought about that. He thought deeply for a moment, and nodded. "I do. My and my wife's presence while they did nothing to save her, and.. this." He put a stack of papers on the table. It was the notes from each maternal check-up Anastasia had ever went to. "The doctor here, Dr. Collins, says there is no sign of anything deadly to our daughter. But, when she was born, it was obvious she had Meningococcal Septicemia, and he did nothing to even give her a fighting chance." Jacob explained as best he could, clearing his throat several times.

Mr. Teller nodded, and looked over all of the paperwork. "I understand." He let out a heavy sigh. "I apologize for such a loss to you and Mrs. Colinsworth. You're a good man, just like your father was, Jacob." Mr. Teller then shifted in his seat, and rubbed his forehead. "Alright, we'll sue for misconduct, and possibly manslaughter or a murder charge. I'll get in touch with you soon, and let you know how things are progressing. Again, I'm deeply sorry for your family, and if you need anything, just call me. Your father and I were friends." Jacob managed a smile. "Thank you, Mr. Teller. I will." They hugged momentarily, and sighed.

He left the office feeling somewhat better, but his head was reeling with what to do about Anastasia. He wondered if he was even allowed back into his own home, as she thinks he's left her. Just thinking about that made his stomach churn, and he was only a step outside of the lawyer's office before everything he'd eaten for breakfast came bursting out, and he heaved into the bushes. She was starting to affect him physically and he knew it wasn't good. He might die just worrying about her.

Pulling himself together, he made it to his truck, and swigged some whiskey, feeling the unfamiliar burning sensation down his bare throat, and gulped it down. It made him feel better, and he pulled out of the parking lot of the office to the busiest freeway he'd ever seen. Feeling so dizzy already, he clutched the steering wheel, and pressed the gas, just making it before a car zoomed by. He was almost halfway... if only he'd made it just little farther.

Then, maybe that truck would have already passed him, and he wouldn't be a deer in the headlights, of the biggest Dodge he'd seen in his life. All he remembers is feeling a horrible feeling in his heart, like he'd let someone down. And he struggled to open his eyes, his head aching, and he couldn't move. That little dark-haired, green-eyed girl was in his head, smiling, and saying something he couldn't make out. Her mouth moved, but.. nothing was audible. He felt the grass, and when his vision cleared up, he saw three of the face of someone he didn't know, asking for his name. "Sir? Sir, what's your name? Who are you?" He could hear the flames engulfing his little truck, and then a loud explosion, which he'd later find out was his truck exploding.

"Ana.. Anastasia.." He mumbled, and his eyes rolled back, losing the battle with his conscious. There was burning sensation all over his body. He could still feel the wedding ring on his finger, and he tried to focus on that feeling, as he suddenly felt like he was airborne, and he jerked, sirens blaring. As he lost consciousness, he heard the siren loudly, as if it was in front of him, and then strong hands were lifting him up, and he was being jabbed with needles, and IV's all over. He felt a cool breeze as they had to rip open his shirt and vest, and he groaned, losing his ability to keep his eyes open.

While Jacob was gone, Ana found herself looking at their photo album from their wedding day and honeymoon. She remembered the day like it was yesterday, she like always was stressing out thinking about the worst possible situations. Like Jake leaving her at the altar, or her dress not fitting, or him not marrying her because he was in love with one of her bridesmaid or illogical things like that that would never happen.

Why? Because they were crazy about each other and every time she looked at him it was like she fell in love with him all over again. They vowed to stay together through everything and now look at them. No daughter, a marriage about to crumble, and a wife who couldn't bring herself to move forward with her life.

She cleared her throat to stop herself from crying as she looked at a picture of the two of them looking in each other's eyes. "God, what happened?" She asked herself as she sighed and ran her fingers through her hair. She jumped as she heard the phone start ringing. Before getting up to get the phone, she took a deep breath, cleared her throat and wiped her face just so the person on the other line wouldn't know she has been crying. After the third ring, she finally made her way to the phone and answered it. "Hello?"

"Hello, I need to speak to a Mrs. Colinsworth." She shifted as she raised an eyebrow. She felt like something was wrong, something really wrong. Which is why she hesitantly answered. "This is she."

"Mrs. Colinsworth, I regret to inform you that there was an accident involving your husband." Her eyes widen as she bit down on her lip to stop from crying right then and there. Wait, w--what? No, no! He just left an hour ago and he was fine!" That wasn't true but, he wasn't physically hurt. "Ma'am--.." She didn't even let the woman finish before interrupting. What happened?!

"Ma'am, your husband was in a head in collision." Her mouth was wide open as she dropped to the floor and covered her mouth with her hand so the could muffle her sobs. She didn't even know what to say next. "I really sorry, Ma'am." She removed her hand as she tried to get herself under control. "W-Where is he? Is-is he okay? Is--is h-he dead? What am I suppose to do now?!" She could tell the woman on the other line was close to tears herself as Ana heard her sigh and clear her throat. "No, no, Mrs. Colinsworth he's still alive," She breathed in relief as she let the woman finish. "But you should get here as fast as you can." She just nodded as she hung up to phone, not even responding to the woman. She grabbed her wallet as she ran out the door and into her silver Honda fit, a present from her parents seven months ago when they found out that their daughter was having a child and refused to let their grandchild be driven around in the older truck Jacob drove.

As she drove to the hospital all she could think of is how she couldn't lose Jacob too. She knew they were having problem and he had left her but, she could let him die. She had already lost their daughter, she couldn't lose he husband too. Let alone a month away from one another. She would be alone! And she would feel like it was her fault, she was the one who pushed him away, she was the one who made him leave and if he left her, she would never be able to move on from that.

"Jacob? Jacob, if you can hear me, blink." A woman's voice was gruffy, but she was blocking the insanely bright light above him, and he winced, blinking hard, forcing his eyes closed and open as best he could. "He's responding, get him to the Infirmary, and begin the procedure. " She hooked her stethoscope back on her neck and held on to the railing of his bed, as several other nurses were, running him through a long, narrow hallway, and he felt dizzy all over again.

Then, he was in a bland room, and he had flashbacks of him and Anastasia, happy memories. From the time they first met, to the first date, to the wedding, when she was running around like a child, fussing about cake and flowers, when all he wanted was to marry her right that second. But, she wanted the big family wedding, and he went along with it for her sake. As they put the oxygen mask on his face, he heard another nurse enter the room. "His wife's nearly here, we can't lose him!" She demanded, and in that moment, Jacob felt relief for the first time in months.

She did care about him.

Nearly 3 hours later, they re-attached his leg practically, as it had a huge slit in it, and the bone all up and down it was shattered. There was huge cast on his right leg, and his left hand was bandaged. He had some stitches on his forehead, making his hair unnaturally spike upwards, but he couldn't care less. He was alive, and he still had a job, which was to help Anastasia. He wouldn't leave her until he died, and even then, his soul would always be there.

The nurse had walked in the room, and she was smiling. Her skin was a chocolate brown, and she had bright eyes. He liked her smile, and smirked back at her. "Mr. Colinsworth?" She asked, as if to make sure he was actually awake. He sighed, and his eyes turned towards hers. "Hm?" He grunted, and she shone a bright flashlight in his green eyes. He flinched, and she chuckled. "Good.." She then, went down to his right foot, and gently touched it. "Feel anything?" Jacob shook his head. "Alright.." She scribbled more nonsense on to her clipboard, the grip she had on it was strong, as her knuckles. "Are you new here?" He asked, rather gruffly. She blushed, and nodded. "Yes sir." Jacob nodded. "You're doing great." He did the best smirk he could, and then leaned back against the bed, and sighed.

The nurse smiled big, and then the doctor who had been running him down the hall, just a few hours earlier. "Why, Mr. Colinsworth. I'm glad you decided to join us. You know, we lost you for a few seconds on the table, but you're stable as can be now." She smiled, and sat on the edge of his bed, by his left thigh. Jacob watched her. "I'm sorry." He furrowed his brows. "I didn't mean to be trouble.." He looked at her, and she laughed. "Oh no, you're fine. Anyways, I'm Dr. Madison. You're going to be in here for a few days minimum. But.." She looked to her nurse, as if for verification before she started again, and cleared her throat. In turn, the nurse nodded approvingly. " We did get ahold of.. your wife, I believe." The nurse nodded again. "Anastasia, correct?" Dr. Madison looked at Jacob, and he, in turn, sighed. "Yes m'am. She's my one and only." Dr. Madison sent the nurse for some nonsense chore, and looked at the man. "Is she your wife?" Jacob nodded. "You just.. don't seem incredibly sure about it." Jacob smirked, and looked down. "We lost our daughter the day after she was born, and it.. just hasn't been.." She interrupted before he could finish. "The same. It just hasn't been the same?" She smiled, and Jacob nodded, slightly teary. The doctor placed her hand on Jacob's and smiled. "I know what it feels like, but.. if it wasn't for my husband helping me, I would have never continued to get my degree and be where I am today with our precious daughters." Jacob nodded sadly, and smiled at the woman, as she let go of him, and went to the door. "Oh, and one more thing. " She paused. "Don't give up on your wife. Okay? No more alcohol. You see where it gets you." She then shut the door behind her, and walked down to the waiting room.

As Dr. Madison disappeared, Jacob sank back into the bed, and closed his eyes, letting out a long sigh. He hoped Anastasia wouldn't be upset with him. In his defense, he didn't know what he was doing. He was so clouded with the emotions of Anastasia wanting to even leave him, and the whole ordeal with their daughter, he just couldn't take it anymore. But.. maybe it was time to change that. Time for a new leaf for Jacob and Anastasia.

Dr. Madison walked down a long, narrow hall, then took the elevator down to the waiting room floor, and walked out, flipping open her personal clipboard with ease, and looking down at it for a moment. "Is there an Anastasia Colinsworth?" When a blonde popped up, she smiled. "If you'd walk with me, please, m'am." She began, and handed her the pen, and clipboard. "Can you sign right there.." She pointed at a blank line with an X. "just so the Insurance you have knows I have shown you the paperwork, which I'm about to explain." She sounded cheerful.

"Thank you." She took the pen back, and hit the button for up on the elevator. "Your husband, Jacob, is perfectly stable now. He's resting in Room # 345. His whole right leg was shattered, and had to partially be put back on him, but it's nothing to worry about. With a few weeks of Physical Therapy he should be just fine and working like he was before the accident. " She paused, remembering what else she fixed on him. "His left hand was pretty badly cut, and it's bandaged. It will probably leave a scar, especially on his ring finger. Also, his forehead was slit, and it has stitches.." She stopped, exiting the elevator, and then walking down the hallway directly to the left. Her heels clicked on the tile floor. "Like I said, it's stitched up, and should not leave a scar, but if it does, let me know, and I can get you an ointment to help with that." She placed her hand on the door knob to Jacob's room. "I warn you." She said sternly. "He is very.." She over pronounced the word to make sure she understood. "very heavily medicated. He may be a little drowsy, weak, fatigued, just tired. Try not to over stimulate him, please." She took a minute to explain herself. "If he, say cries hard enough, he will go into cardiac arrest, and I can't promise anything. His body is so stretched out healing wise, he might not be able to handle it. " She nodded to the wife, opening the door and revealing the bandaged man, and then closing it behind her.

Annie was tapping her foot in the waiting room of the ER as she just looked down at the tile flooring with her fingers in her hair. There was nothing else she could do but, wait and beg that he was going to be okay. And it felt like forever as she waited. Minutes felt like hours and hours felt like days. She couldn't bring herself to do anything else as she waited. "Is there an Anastasia Colinsworth?" Annie popped up as she she walked towards the doctor. "If you'd walk with me, please, m'am.. Can you sign right there just so the Insurance you have knows I have shown you the paperwork, which I'm about to explain." She nodded as she skimmed over the paper before signing her name on the X and started walking with the doctor. She just listened as the woman walked and talked with her.

"Your husband, Jacob, is perfectly stable now. He's resting in Room # 345." She took a deep breath out as she wiped the tears away from her eyes. That all she needed to hear to make her calm down a bit. "His whole right leg was shattered, and had to partially be put back on him, but it's nothing to worry about. With a few weeks of Physical Therapy he should be just fine and working like he was before the accident." She let out a small smile as she nodded. "Thank god. Did anything else happen to him?" She knew that couldn't be it and as afraid as she was to hear what else happened to him, she needed to ask before she told her.

"His left hand was pretty badly cut, and it's bandaged. It will probably leave a scar, especially on his ring finger." Oh the irony. "Also, his forehead was slit, and it has stitches.." When she stopped talking as the exited the elevator, Annie too this time to calm herself down. On the ride over here she was always thinking the worst but, she could relax now. She had gotten the best news she could have gotten, he was fine. Scratched up, of course but he was going to be okay. Which is all that mattered to her.

"Like I said, it's stitched up, and should not leave a scar, but if it does, let me know, and I can get you an ointment to help with that." When they made it to the door, Ana was ready to run in to see her baby but, when the woman stopped right in front of the door with her hand on the knob, the blonde woman looked at her with annoyance in her face. "I warn you. He is very, very heavily medicated. He may be a little drowsy, weak, fatigued, just tired. Try not to over stimulate him, please." She nodded quickly as she tapped her foot. "I won't I promise."

"If he, say cries hard enough, he will go into cardiac arrest, and I can't promise anything. His body is so stretched out healing wise, he might not be able to handle it. " Ana nodded as she sighed. She needed to remember that, she didn't want to do anything to risk losing him again. "Okay, I got it. Can I please just see my husband now?" Her bossy, sassy self coming out for the first time in months as she tried to speed up the process of speaking with the woman. And finally she opened the door and Ana saw Jacob laying there on the bed all scratched up. She took a feel steps inside before hearing the door close behind her. She took a deep breath before slowly walking to the bed and sitting down by his side. She looked at him up close before running her fingers softly through his spiked hair. "God, Jacob, you scared the shit out of me, you know that?" She chuckled softly before continuing. "What did you do to yourself this time, what happened?" She asked softly as she moved her hand from his hair to his hand that wasn't bandaged up.

Jacob stirred as he heard the door, and he opened his eyes slowly, seeing the figure of his wife. He relaxed, and smirked as he felt her weight on the bed, and her hand in his hair. He kept his eyes open, looking at her, and all of her beauty.

"God, Jacob, you scared the shit out of me, you know that? What did you do to yourself this time, what happened?"

Jacob felt her hand on his, and weakly tried to hold her hand in his. He was longing for her affection, whether he wanted to admit it or not. He needed her in his life. Forever.

"Well.. It's a long story." He frowned, not wanting to tell her the truth, but took a deep breath, and looked at her. "I'll tell you the truth. I swear." He cleared his throat. "I have to start from this morning for you to understand." His eyes were soft already. "I was trying to get you to come with me to some stupid 'therapeutic couples retreat' I'd heard had good results from all kinds of couples. I thought they could help us. But, when you told me to go without you, something hurt, and I left, but with no intention of ever divorcing you. I married you for a reason. " He explained, and felt a tear go down his cheek. " When I left I came downtown to a lawyer's office, to sue the hospital. I'd had it with them. They didn't even give her a fighting chance, and I've hated them for it. So, after Mr. Teller and I finished up the paperwork, I felt myself shutting down. " He looked at the window, then back at their hands. "I got sick, and drank alcohol to numb it, as well as everything else going on."

He took a breath, and paused. "As soon as I drank the alcohol I knew it was wrong, but it felt so good not to feel horrible about letting you down, or not doing more, or.. anything." His eyes flooded, but he kept himself under control. "Next thing I knew, that truck hit me, and I was on the ground, remembering all of our anniversaries, and dates. "

Jacob ended, and looked at Anastasia helplessly, and wondering what she could be thinking. If she was going to be the heartless woman she'd been for a while now, or would the woman he knew come shining back through? If she didn't, then he didn't know what to do anymore. He was starting to slowly give up, even though he knew, he had to piece back the puzzle that had been so dramatically thrown about.

"And then.." He began again, chuckling. "I was thinking about you, and how the hell I was going to explain everything that had just happened."

"Well.. It's a long story. I'll tell you the truth. I swear." She nodded as she rubbed her hand over his for what felt like the hundredth time since entering the room a sitting down next to him. "I have to start from this morning for you to understand."

"Okay...?" She said slowly before letting him start his long story. "I was trying to get you to come with me to some stupid 'therapeutic couples retreat' I'd heard had good results from all kinds of couples. She chuckled softly as she nodded. She knew he was up to something. I thought they could help us. But, when you told me to go without you, something hurt, and I left, but with no intention of ever divorcing you. After all the shit she put him through he still loved her enough to stay with her?

" When I left I came downtown to a lawyer's office, to sue the hospital. I'd had it with them." She sighed sharply as she looked away from him for a moment to let it soak in that he has actually went to a lawyer. "Jacob, why would you do that?"

"They didn't even give her a fighting chance, and I've hated them for it. So, after Mr. Teller and I finished up the paperwork, I felt myself shutting down."
When he paused, she took this opportunity to breath. "As soon as I drank the alcohol I knew it was wrong, but it felt so good not to feel horrible about letting you down, or not doing more, or.. anything." When he start to cry, Ana's hand tightened on his to try to keep him calm. She didn't need him to work himself up. "Next thing I knew, that truck hit me, and I was on the ground, remembering all of our anniversaries, and dates." She smiled softly as she looked down at their hands. It was surprising even to her that she was so calm. Inside, she was deciding on how to handle this. She couldn't just yell at him about how stupid he was acting and she didn't want to just shrug it off like it was nothing. She was disappointed in him and knew that he knew better than to do something so stupid. She only broke from her concentration when he started talking to her again.

"And then. I was thinking about you, and how the hell I was going to explain everything that had just happened. When she heard him chuckle, she shook her head before taking a deep breath turning towards him. "I could have lost you. I could have lost you and it would have been my fault for making you leave." Was the only thing she could think of before having her voice crack. She closed her eyes to gather her thoughts and cleared her throat.

"Jacob, we already lost a daughter and I can't lose you too." She said as she used her free hand to wipe the tears away from his eyes. When she moved away from him, she sighed. "I don't even know what to say." And then she came to a conclusion as she moved a bit towards his feet so she could see his whole face and take in exactly how bad he looked. She licked her lips before shaking her head. "We'll talk about this later, for now I just need you to get better. And once you've built your strength back up, I think we need to get out of here." She said as she looked him up and down once more. "I don't care if we go together or separate but, neither of us are going to get better; physically or mentally by staying in New York." Yes, she was giving into the idea of going on a vacation or retreat from the city with her husband. She didn't necessarily love the idea, but looking at Jacob, she realized that they both were at their breaking points and they were only going to get worse if they stayed in the city and whether she would admit it or not, she loved him too much to just give up and let the two of them just completely break down.

"I could have lost you. I could have lost you and it would have been my fault for making you leave."

Jacob felt the shame hit him, guilt taking over all of his emotions. "Ana.." He frowned. "Jacob, we already lost a daughter and I can't lose you too. I don't even know what to say. We'll talk about this later, for now I just need you to get better. And once you've built your strength back up, I think we need to get out of here. "I.." He looked at her, in the eyes. "agree with you." He managed a weak smile at her, and brought her hand up, and lightly kissed it. "Just.. please don't leave me." He pleaded almost, and was still leaning back in his bed, and smirked towards her.

- Two Weeks Later -

It had been two very long weeks for Jacob, and he was sure it'd been even longer for Anastasia. But, she'd stuck by his side, and helped him re-learn how to walk basically. He had to go to Physical Therapy every day, at the same time. 9 A.M. and then again at 5 P.M.. Dr. Madison would be there, and tell him what he was doing, then hand him off to Anna, who was the Physical Therapist, and they would then begin the routine exercises.

He had regained full use of his leg, and was being checked out, and taken home today. "Now.." Dr. Madison began as Anastasia and Jacob were in his hospital room, readying to leave. "As long as you keep that cane around and do these..." She hands him a list of the routine exercises he'd been doing with Anna. "at least once a day, your leg should be fine in time. I promise." She smiled, and patted Jacob's shoulder. "I wish you both well." She nodded, and Jacob shook her hand. "Thank you, Doctor."

Jacob then turned to Anastasia, his grip on the cane tightening. He still needed a little assistance, but he only had to wear a much smaller slip on his leg. "I don't think you can handle what all this cane is holding." Jacob teased lightheartedly to his wife, wondering how she might take it. She'd been half and half as far as emotional during their two week stay.

Some nights, especially when he could actually sleep on his side again, she might cozy up to him if he was lucky. Some days, she'd be more protective than others, and some days she'd often leave him alone. He knew they were getting somewhere, and he was just happy to still have her. Jacob loved her with his everything, and would have died if it meant she'd have a better life.

"I don't think I can drive just yet, do you mind?" He looked to Anastasia, as he held his luggage she'd so kindly brought him last week. His other hand on his cane, as he wobbled along, following his wife happily. When he eventually made his way to Ana's car, and worked his way in, he looked to his beautiful wife, having fallen in love with her all over again, and smiled.

"I love you, Anastasia Colinsworth.

The two weeks were agonizingly long for the both of them and as much as she just wanted to leave him be to finish his therapy, something kept her there everyday making sure he was okay.

As the doctor explained that Jacob was going to be fine, she smiled softly as she looked to her husband. When Dr. Madison had wished them both well she just nodded and shook her hand before looking to her husband who was looking at her. "I don't think you can handle what all this cane is holding."
She just rolled her eyes as she shook her head. "You're such a smartass." She said as she made her way to help her husband only to lay her hand softly on his back to help him the best she could as the two made their way out. Today was one of the days that Annie was actually talking and helping him, she would talk to him, walk with him, sleep in the same bed as him and maybe even find herself cuddling with, and honest she was just being normal around him like she used to be. Of course, she still hadn't intertwined their fingers when they held hands or kissed him like she used to but, she was making progress... some days.

Other days, she would go back to her cold hearted ways where she would stay in the room with him in order to make sure he was okay but, she barely talked to him or even acknowledged him unless he asked her something that required her to speak, and during these types of days she would lay in bed with him but, she wouldn't even think about touching him. These were the days that everyone hated to see, even Ana herself.

As the couple walked, she looked towards him as he broke the silence and concentration. "I don't think I can drive just yet, do you mind?" She smiled before nodding. "Of course, I don't mind. I'm your humble servant and chauffeur until you get better, remember?" She joked around as watched him to make sure he was okay. When they finally made their way to her car, she grabbed his luggage and put it in the trunk while he got in the passenger seat. She slammed the trunk closed before making her way to the driver's seat and sitting down before putting on her seatbelt. She only realized that Jacob was looking at her when she turned to click her seatbelt in. She looked up at him to see a smile, not a smirk but, an actually smile on his face. She chuckled softly as she looked away only to look back towards him. "What?"

"I love you, Anastasia Colinsworth." Her heart tightened as she looked down at her hand holding his. "I love you too." She then cleared her throat before removing her hand from his in order to drive. She backed out of the hospital parking lot and started for home, she didn't say anything as she let the radio fill the silence. The young woman only broke the silence to try and have an actual conversation with her husband. Which sounded really sad to think about, a woman had to try to talk to her husband. "So, um... For our getaway, you're sure you want it to be the two of us? " She asked as she turned towards him for a minute only to turn back towards the road. And if so, where were you thinking?"

"I love you too."

Jacob almost didn't believe his ears, but stayed silent, smiling until he bit his lip to break it, so he wouldn't freak the girl out. The car ride wouldn't be too long, but he didn't care how long he'd be stuck in a car, as long as she was there, he was fine. Then, she started speaking.

"So, um... For our getaway, you're sure you want it to be the two of us? And if so, where were you thinking?"

Jacob straightened up, and he looked at her while she momentarily looked at him. He half-smiled, and sighed. "Of course I want you to come with me...No, scratch that, I'm not going to go.. " He paused. " if you don't." He smirked, and nodded to himself. "Well, we could still go on that trip that seemed to start all of this havoc.." He chuckled. "It's to the Hawaiian Islands, and they have stuff so you go to each island. Not just the main one." He explained, and then played with his hands in his lap. "Unless you don't like that, and we can go somewhere closer to home, or.. really anywhere." He offered, wondering if that'd be too many options.

He waited for her to respond, and as she drove, he watched out the window at all the buildings and things they'd passed. There were couples linked by arms, and men walking with dogs alone. He hoped, deep down, they'd be the happy couple with a puppy, walking along the sidewalk, and he sighed, leaning his head against the glass of the window, leaning back in his seat.

When they finally got home, Jacob had a struggle to get out of the car, but won the battle on his own, and grabbed his cane. "I feel like an old man.." He muttered as he followed Anastasia inside, and shut the door behind her. "But, it feels amazing to be home." He obtained the suitcase from her, and took it to their bedroom, and threw it up on the bed, and unzipped it. Taking the old clothes out and into the hamper, he rezipped it, and put it in the closet. He sighed as he went to the living room, and looked towards his wife.

"It's just like I remember it." He chuckled, and leaned on his cane, smiling.
