(Sorry this reply took so long. I wrote this four times and lost my post before I could post it every single time.)
Aubrey Evans
Aubrey nodded to Sasha, and took off her apron. She walked to the front, only to see a line. A long line. She greeted the first customer, leaning slightly over the counter to smile at him. She said, "Hello, welcome to Sasha's Sweets. What would you like?" She looked at the man in front of her. She hadn't seen him before. Curious, she asked, "Are you new in town?"

Looking at the customers behind her, she leaned slightly over the man's shoulder, smiling at the customer behind him. "Sorry for the wait, I'll be with you in a minute." She straightened up, ready to prepare orders. Inhaling the smell of sugar and cake, Aubrey couldn't help but smile. The cafe had always felt like a community in itself, ever since Aubrey had first arrived. She had always loved working for Sasha, and this was one of the only jobs that she had always tried her hardest on.

"Well, it's nice to meet you all the same, Ms. O'Leary and it seems like that's a lovely store you have there." Adam answered the woman who addressed him, answering her offered hand with his own for a shake. It was then the woman who was watching him earlier addressed him, giving her name as well as extending her hand. As Adam stepped closer to her, he could feel a sudden warmth, as if it was coming off the fiery haired woman before him. "A phoenix? An odd form, but most certainly not a displeasing one." he then grasped her hand, bent down and kissed it gently as he looked into her eyes. "The pleasure is all mine, Ms. Deroove." he said with a small smile across his face as he lifted himself up again. The old Fext had met more then one phoenix in his life and while he was used to their more avionic forms, he knew that all of them had a fiery spirit to them and most of them enjoyed attention.

"You said a year?" Adam exclaimed, Kris' words finally reaching his ears as he strolled over to the smoking butcher. "And animal bones? What an interesting material. I actually saw a golem not much taller then Sweeper made of copper wiring back in '97. I've always been interested in the art, but I...."

"Excuse me? I don't suppose it's a bad time to pick up my weekly order Mr. Metzger?" another woman interjected, Kris springing up and addressing her as Ms. Magdalena. As the two entered Kris' shop, a feeling came over Adam. This woman's voice seemed familiar, like on he'd heard a long time ago. "Excuse me, everyone." Adam said, following the pair into the meat shop. While the woman was quite covered with a jacket and sunglasses obscuring her face, Adam had this gnawing feeling that they had met before.

"You know, I was wondering when you'd be by to pick up your order, ma'am. I've had barely any customers today, it seems like. I'd blame my little critters runnin' around the store as putting people off meat, but I don't think that'd be the case in this town." Kris said to the woman, the golems still noticeably running around the shop performing their duties.

"I am terribly sorry to interrupt, but Ms. Magdalena, was it? Have we met before?"

"Okay. Don't panic. She's just a girl. It's completely fine." Howard thought to himself as he waited for someone to arrive at the counter. While he waited, he eyed the bakery's decor as well as some of the deserts they had on display. Howard even saw a particular piece of carrot cake that looked pretty appetizing. It was around this time that Howard heard the familiar sound of metal clanging against a door frame. Out of instinct he turned to check who it was and was greeted by the image of some form of canine in a leather jacket entering the sweet shop.

"There is a dog with eyeliner behind me. Everything's not fine." Howard was officially freaking out. Sure, Adam told him that there would be some people who wouldn't look completely normal, but how was he supposed to prepare himself for seeing a bipedal dog-thing wearing a leather jacket and eyeliner.

"Hello, welcome to Sasha's Sweets. What would you like?" the woman he followed into the shop broke him from his fearful state for a moment. While he was still panicking, he was trying to suppress it as much as he could. "Are you new in town?" the girl asked after addressing the still growing line as another man had entered recently. At least this one didn't have a squid face.

"That carrot cake looks pretty good and, yeah. That obvious, huh? I'm Howard, by the way." the young man said, placing his hand out forward for a handshake.

Euphemia, smiled gently as she followed Kris into the shop taking of her glasses as she did so. She took a deep breath when entering, and smiled she loved them smell a hint of some dried blood that dripped under counter or under a fingernail it was enough to liberate her senses. “I sense one of your helpers missed a spot under the counter.” She told him; with a small smile she knew firsthand how hard it was to get rid of blood, that’s why all her furniture has plastic covers over them. Yes, that was why and not just because the last time she redecorated was 1958.

"There are some things in this century I do wish would change." she said. "In my day, a woman didn't refer to a man that wasn't her husband by his christian name, It just wasn't done." she sighed, knowing those days were gone a long distant memory. "But alas, I suppose today just has me in a whirl." she shook her head. "Today, was my George's birthday and I had to make his favorite Cherry-Berry Pie, I know it's silly but I haven't broken the tradition in two hundred years. It just seem second nature now, and oh dear I am rambling aren't I?" she finished and took a deep breath, apologizing, "I am sorry like said it has been hectic for me today."

She herd the door open behind her and turned, to see a filmier man, how hadn't she noticed him before. "A..." she gasped, "Mr. Wicker?" she recognized the man from her human day. Her husband's good friend, and the man she broke her marriage vows with. She turned back to the counter, not today, not today, tomorrow but not today. she thought to herself as she waited for her order.

~Lifaria~

Smiled a cheeky smile as the man - who was kissing her hand. She watched his eyes as he looked up at her, a glint of yellow growing in them as he spoke, then she spoke in return, "Hybrid, actually. I have the form of a human, but all the tricks and talents of a pheonix, plus some others" she'd grin, not many people considered attraction 'talent' but she always felt quite proud whenever she managed to woo somebody with her fire.

Lifaria watched as a lady and Kris entered the shop, Adam following behind - and Lifaria shortly after. She entered ther shop and slipped past the woman and Kris to lean herself against the wall opposite Kris' counter, watching over the bone gollums as the cluttered about and worked. Lifaria chuckled as she watched them, smiling with the pure joy she got from watching such cute creatures, "They're just like children. I never knew you were the fatherly type, Kris" she'd say, looking across to him with a hint of a teasing smirk.

Fox bounced happily on the balls of her feet as she watched the little crowd swell and listened as comments were tossed back and forth. She didn't quite mind being forgotten, at least not for the moment. She'd been searching for this place for a long time. Bluffington was not quite famous, but close to it. There were other mythical communities all over the world, but this was one of the few mid-sized ones, a quality Fox had been searching for for a long time. What was the point of being am immortal among hundreds of other immortals, all packed within the underground of New York City? Even worse, to be a new face in some remote village atop a mountain in South America. No, Bluffington was exactly what Fox had been looking for. It would be a great place to spend the next few decades or so while she waited for the private space travel industry to beef up a bit.

"I'm not really here for any reason at all, actually," Fox said to Bridgette as she went to grab her duffel bag from the golems. She pet one hesitantly on the head and then grinned. "I've been following rumors about this place around the country for a while now, but first I kept getting different names, then no one could tell me the state... I met a vampire in Mexico who swore up and down it was in Australia..." She rolled her eyes and hauled the bag up into her arms, stumbling a bit under the weight. Luckily (or not), she stumbled straight into one of the young men, dark-haired with even darker eyes. This guy must be made of bricks, she thought. Even though she had fallen into him with practically her entire weight, he hardly seemed bothered by it. Fox dropped the bag at her feet and shook out her arms. "Sorry," she said and smiled at him again. For some reason, she just couldn't stop smiling at him. "Anyway, do either of you know a place where they're renting rooms... or where I could get a job...?" she said, including Bridgette in the question.

"Mr. Wicker?" as soon as the voice reached his ears, a chill traveled throughout his whole body. "No...No...I saw the gravestone. It can't be..." he thought to himself, but it was. He knew deep down that this was the same woman he had loved in secret all those years ago. The same woman he betrayed one of his best friend's trust for and the same woman whose grave site he had visited centuries ago after having left his life in shame.

There were so many thoughts and feelings speeding through his head all at once. Part of him wanted to pack up everything and leave Bluffington while another part wanted to hold onto her and never let go. But Adam knew better then to act on pure emotion, especially in a situation this important. So, he did his best to compose himself, dusting off his vest and tie. He swiftly put his hand into his front pant's pocket and pulled out two business cards, each holding his title and name as well as his current address and phone number. "Um, I just realized I left some important work at home. We should talk the craft sometime, Kris. Here's my card." Adam said as he placed the first card on the butcher's counter, then turned towards Ms. Magdelena and handed her the second. "And so we can talk at a more appropriate time, Ms... Magdalena." he whispered, unable or unwilling to look her in the eye as he left the butcher's shop and side stepped the crowd outside, intent on leaving the area as he continued down the street in an attempt to clear his head.

Thanos watched as the the small group of citizens got smaller as some of them went inside Kris' butcher shop. Thanos tended to eat a lot of steak and he got most if not all of his meat from Kris. Pretty soon it was just Him, Bridgette and Fox......He watched as fox grabbed he over stuffed bag and stumbled right into from the weight. he caught her before she fell. As she looked up at him he looked into her eyes. Yep he definitely knew her from somewhere. He smiled back to her. She certainly was beautiful....... He then heard her ask about a place to stay and a job. "Uh well my names Dominic......I mean Rhodes...I mean Thanos." He was never this nervous around women why was he getting nervous now?

He cleared his throat. "I can show you around miss Fox if you'd like." He said with a weak smile. He looked over at Bridgette and then at the crowd inside of the Butcher shop. He absolutely had to find out who she was now. He knew they had a connection he just need to know why... He looked back at Bridgette "Miss Bridgette would you like to come along." his was his attempt at grounding himself and making himself more comfortable.

Kris Metzger

Kris silently raised one eyebrow at the pair of Adam and Euphemia, glancing bemusedly between the two. "I suppose there's something between these two that I'm not exactly privy to. Probably best to keep their private business private." He thought, glancing down at his feet and counting the golems. "One, two, yadda yadda, nine. Nine of the boys. Who's missing?" Kris continued thinking, moving towards the back of the display containing the beef. Reaching in distractedly, Kris looked up at Lifaria with a slightly puzzled expression. "Unfortunately, I'm not too fatherly. One of the golems ain't in here and I cannot for the life of me figure out who it is. It seems like they're all here, sure, but there's just one in particular that ran off somewhere." Kris replied, gesturing with his free hand towards the various golems trying to hand him things.

He grabbed at the butcher paper Little man held in his paws, managing to knock it to the floor and irritate the golem, who picked it up and firmly placed it back into Kris's hands with a croak. Kris nodded silently and stood up, spreading the paper across the scale on the counter and laying meat on top of it, measuring out the appropriate amount. "Alright, so this is the beef, Ms. Magdalena. If you'll give me a second to tie it up I'll get the pork ready to go and you can go on about your day. And to answer your earlier comment; unfortunately, in spite of their enthusiasm, the boys don't quite have the reach to get every spot when they clean. I usually end up cleaning up after the end of the day anyway, but it keeps them busy to give things a once over. Now, where'd that twine end up?" Kris said, waving distractedly at Adam as he left and looking between the golems holding their items aloft and fidgeting.

Outside, Sweepy watched Fox and the rest who chose to stay outside quietly, though with slightly more trepidation than might be warranted in Fox's case. The cigar, extinguished and now bent and slightly chewed looking, stayed wedged under his upper jaw, wiggling slightly as he looked around. Becoming apparently somewhat bored with the situation at hand, with people coming and going and carrying on conversations that didn't praise him or tell him what to do, Sweepy grabbed the cigar with one paw and gently dropped it in the ashtray before launching himself off the seat, waddling with intent towards the book store or someplace similar, where people who would inevitably tell him to do something would be.

Aubrey laughed at Howard, grabbing his hand and shaking while saying, "I'm Aubrey. Welcome to Bluffinton. That carrot cake is on the way." Aubrey reached over, grabbing the well-decorated cake from under the counter. Well of course you think it's well decorated, you made it! Aubrey thought to herself, almost grabbing the entire cake before realizing that she had forgotten to ask a crucial question.

Popping back up, she grinned again, asking Howard, "How many slices would you like?" Glaring at the hair that had floated down onto her face, she scrunched up her nose and shook her head back and forth repeatedly. When that plan didn't work, she opted for blowing it out of her face. Aubrey didn't want to replace her gloves again, Sasha hated it when she kept accidentally ruining gloves because she touched her hair or the floor.

Remembering that she had a job to do, Aubrey grabbed a knife and turned back around, looking expectantly at Howard, the pounding sounds of the cafe beating into her head. With the beginnings of a horrid headache coming around, Aubrey glared at the white and black tiled floor, wanting to get her irritation out without screaming at a customer.

Setting the knife by the cake, she asked one last important question.

"Is that for here or to go?"

Alice Creek

I sat on my bed in my new room. My father decided to move here after the death of Mother. Father had bought a new house here and sold the old one I grew up in. I missed Mother. Of course, even bringing her back as a zombie wouldn't make me feel the same as when she was human.

My new room was painted light pink, with pastel green carpet. I had a lot of wood bookshelves I painted white, and they were stuffed with spell books. In a corner was my bed, with white sheets and a quilt my mother made on it. Despite being a Necromancer, I did not like black, so everything was light or pastel colored.

I was just about to crack open a book, when I heard a light tapping at my bedroom door. "Come in." My voice called out, and my younger sister opened the door.

"Big sis, take me to the bookstore, please?" Alexandria asked, and I nodded. Alexandria was 13 years old, and had blonde hair and red eyes, like me. I walked outside with her, and began walking to the bookstore.

Howard thought it was going well. He hadn't ran out of the store due to the giant hound behind and wasn't tripping over his words too badly. The boy was trying to think of something else to say to the girl behind the counter as she readied a knife and asked how many pieces of the now present carrot cake he wanted. It was then he heard the familiar and dreaded tone of his cell phone's received text noise, dreaded because only one person had his number and that person didn't text unless something bad happened. Howard, worried, quickly pulled the phone from his jean's pocket and unlocked it, seeing the message was indeed from Adam. "Went home. We need to talk about something when you get here later."

"Crap." he said aloud, forgetting where he was. "Oh, sorry. Two pieces and to go." Howard noted to Aubrey, suddenly remembering why he came into the shop in the first place; to talk to Aubrey. "So this whole town is full of people like you?" Howard asked, trying to start a conversation, only realizing after he said the words, how they could be misconstrued. "People who have more to them then regular people do, I mean."

Lif gestured with her free hand toward the door, "Last I saw, the little guy was out there" she'd say to Kris, reaching down to pet one of the bone gollums - she was sure Kris wouldn't mind if she distracted them from work, so long as she didn't set anything ablaze. Again. Lifaria watched the two, the man named Adam and the woman, and a small smile crept over her face. She sensed there was drama, a past between the two.

"You know you could turn this place into a steakhouse, so to speak" Lif said, scooping up one fo the gollums into her arms, cradelling it in a warm embrace as she looked around the store, "You've got the meats for it already, these little guys would make great waiters.." she'd say, scratching the end of the one in her arms, which purred happily back at her, "..and I could cook" she'd continue, smirking softly. She knew Kris would probably decline, but she thought it'd be worth trying to persuade him. Working would give her plenty of oppertunity to show off her firey-skill, and she would be able to meet more people.

The world started to stand still as Euphemia watched the events in the shop unfold. She felt a strange sensation as Mr. Wicker placed his card in her hand, like she wanted to slap him for everything he put her though. All the torment and angst that she endored for the last two hundred years was rooted in what they did when last together. It was a privet matter, and Euphemia was never on to air her dirty laundry for neighbors to see. She smiled softly towards Kris, "Oh no worries, take your time." she said looking about the shop, smiling gently at the girl behind the counter. As the two made small talk, she looked about the store minding her own business, two hundred years and the gossip was swept right out of her.

"I wouldn't worry about it so much." she said, referring to her first comment. "Honestly, its just too much of a hassle to find ever drip that falls where it likes. Besides..." she smiled, "It's such an alluring smell."

Aubrey cut two pieces out of the cake, carefully setting the two slices in a to-go box, folding it up and sliding it across the counter. When Howard asked Aubrey about the town, she responded with, "Most people. Some people are normal humans, but they know how to use magic, and some are just more aware of things than other people. But yes, a lot of people in the town are more than human. I'm a vesna, and my roommate is an immortal witch, so I guess you're more likely to find people like us than regular, mortal humans. Sorry if I just held you up or didn't answer your question." Finishing her miniature speech with a small smile, she smiled at Anubis.

Kris Metzger

Kris groaned, staring out the window and into the street. "Aw christ, that probably means..." Kris said with a sigh, getting cut off by an impatient croak from Little man, who had his arms crossed over what passed for his chest. "Yes, I figured as much as soon as Miss Deroove said she saw him outside, Little man. Guess I know what I'm doing after I get done in here." Kris said exasperatedly, reaching down and grabbing the twine and a pair of scissors from the golems. He wrapped the meat distractedly, occasionally glancing up and into the street, hoping against hope that Sweepy hadn't wandered off. He nodded at Euphemia, smiling slightly in spite of himself. "Glad you enjoy the smell so much then. If a health inspector wandered in I doubt he'd have the same opinion, even in this town." Kris replied, pushing the wrapped and tied package of meat off to one side.

"I dunno if I'd be able to swing turning this place into some kinda steakhouse, Miss Deroove. That'd be a pretty hefty investment on my part, not to mention having to rearrange the shop and get everything set up and locked down. Can't quite have people eatin' not ten feet from a working alchemy lab now. 'Sides, I would probably have to hire you on to cook what with your little firey tricks you do. I don't think I could afford buyin' the equipment to cook as well as someone to operate it. Lord knows I couldn't cook and make sure the boys did their jobs. I have a hard enough time doing that now." Kris said, spreading paper and repeating the weighing-and-wrapping process for the pork. "Alllllllright, Miss Magdalena, this'd be your order. Anything else I can get you 'fore I have to run into the street and track down one of my little helpers?" Kris said, gesturing to the neatly wrapped packages of meat with one hand as he grabbed the card Adam left on the counter with the other.

Sweepy, waddling slightly less urgently now that he'd managed to get out of Kris's line of sight, glanced around. To his left he saw a shop he'd only been in once or twice with Kris, one filled with cakes and cookies and things Sweepy didn't quite know. There were a few people inside standing around, one behind a counter like Kris and a few in front of it, two of whom the golem didn't recognise but one he had seen a few times before, with some kind of dog head. Croaking curiously, Sweepy drifted towards the window in front of the shop, staring in at the people waiting in line to buy things from the lady behind the counter.

Korbin

Being watched was never comfortable, even after all these years. The problem with it is that the feeling never changed, you just became more aware. Even though he had become aware he couldn't help but fidget around. Grabbing his pocket watch he kept opening it and closing it to the same picture and the same time, the chain was long enough to keep looking at it without the need of fully taking it off each time. He let it go and let it lightly bounce off his chest and allowing his hand to follow the chain to his neck, scratching his stubbled jaw and slightly turning his head. Nothing. he noted looking at the other customers. “Vee, hold the spot.” he said nudging her out of her hiding spot.

“Why?” she mumbled.

Ignoring her, he turned and looked out of the window observing the goings on. People were gathered across the street but none of them were facing this way so it couldn't be them and as he stepped closer to the window he finally noticed a figure behind the window arrangements. What the? he mumbled heading for the door, opening it revealed a small creature to say the least. “Well look at you,” he said crouching to the ground letting the door shut behind him. “you are quite the sight.”

Vee

Vee turned around, hearing the metal door close, Stupid Korbin. Leaving me here. What is he doi- she cut herself off looking towards the kitchen. A certain smell caught her attention and almost as if she was being pulled she flied over the blonde, or blondes, and a dog thing. If she was being seen, she didn’t notice and she didn’t care, there were goodies in the kitchen and she was getting them one way or another and almost on cue, there was a delicious looking and meticulously decorated cake just sitting there.

Well, can’t let this go to waste. Grinning from ear to ear she flew directly over the cake and flopped in it face first, letting out a laugh that sounded more evil than good she began making frosting angel all while eating chunks of cake. "This is amazing." she blurted out, mouth stuffed with frosting.

By the time Adam had gotten home, he was consumed with questions and he needed them answered. Slamming the front door behind him and closing all of the blinds, he entered his office and scanned the bookshelf to the left of the door until he came upon a book entitled Divination and the Art of Sight. He pulled it off the shelf, dust from the cover quickly being brushed aside as he placed it on his desk. He needed a particular spell. A spell that could show him the past and he remembered it was in this book. Adam then pulled over an old looking chest from the corner of the room, opening it to reveal various oddities and trinkets inside. Among the objects was an ornate metal feather and something wrapped in rags, both he grabbed and placed on the nearby wooden desk. He then sat down at the desk and opened one of it's drawers, placing an ink bottle and some paper in front of himself. Placing the feather next to the empty bottle, Adam removed the other object's wrapping revealing an obsidian knife. The blade shined even with the small amount of light in the room and both the blade and wooden handle felt as cold as ice in Adam's hand.

"It's been a long time." Adam spoke gently as if he were talking to the blade. He then held the knife in his left hand and grabbed the blade with his right, squeezing tightly as he slowly pulled the knife from his grasp. The blood slowly began to gather at the wound and eventually spilled from it, Adam catching the blood in the glass bottle. It had indeed been a long time since Adam had bled, but the stinging in his palm was still only the second most painful experience he had today.

Not allowing the pain to take any time from him, Adam opened his book to a bookmarked page and with the feather and a dip in the now full flask, drew an arcane symbol on the lower right hand corner along with a name; Elizabeth Klee. He knew what he was doing was dangerous. He was cutting a lot of corners for this spell, but he knew his mind would not let him have peace until he knew the truth, until he saw it with his own eyes. "Da mihi visus prae oculis. Fac videre mihi contigit uisionem. Tu locutus es. Da mihi super oculos, ipse iste." Adam read aloud from the text on the worn pages of the book. As soon as he finished the last words, his eyes rolled into the back of his head as the room around him began to fade from view. Adam was then barraged with images and noise. Places and moments that weren't his own from centuries past, but some he recognized. And then the images slowed and eventually stopped as he found himself in the middle of a dimly lit room. He was facing a bed where a man was on top of a woman. He couldn't make out either of their faces, but he knew the woman was Elizabeth. This was her past after all. This made it all the more horrifying when the man showed his fangs , lurched his head back and then bit her neck. Adam was visibly shaken with tears in his eyes as the setting disappeared and more of the past showed itself to the Fext. It was too much for him to take in however and he lost consciousness in the sea of color and sound, unable to hold his composure any longer as his mind drifted off.

(OOC: Translation for this is "Give me sight beyond sight. Allow my eyes the vision to see what has occurred. I implore you. Give me the eyes of Janus himself.")

Barry Howell

Barry grunted softly and turned his head slightly from Sasha, “Did you hear that?” Sasha quirked a painted brow in answer. “That, there it was again.” Barry quietly pushed away from the wall Sasha had him pinned against and inched towards the slight fluttering nose. “Oh my god, babe, look,” Barry stage-whispered and pointed around the corner. Sasha peaked over his shoulder and gasped, covering her mouth to stifle a giggle, “And Aubrey worked so hard on that one, too.”

Barry brought a finger to his lips, hushing Sasha around his grin and waggled his brows impishly. He ran his fingers through his hair, only to find they snagged, coming away goopy green. Hey, maybe it looks like he’s trying out a new brand of hair gel? Barry shrugged to himself before he smirked and pounced out from behind the corner, silently morphing into a sleek, blue sphynx.

Gracefully and without more than a light thud as he bounded to the stainless-steel countertop, Barry crept towards the preoccupied intruder. Barry glanced over his hairless feline shoulder to see Sasha watching him from behind the corner, trying her hardness not to laugh. Her amusement only spurred Barry’s antics on. He could hear Sasha barely containing her fitful giggles as he thrust his rear in the air, tail swaying, and stalked towards his ‘pray’.

Barry’s soft paws padded silently as he approached the cake, and he inwardly chuckled to himself before dropping back into a pounce and propelled himself forward. On his arch over the cake, Barry caught the small intruder by the bright hair, now coated in frosting, sprawling behind her and loped towards the front counter.

Barry bounded up towards the cash register, carrying the small pixie gently in his maw before plopping it down between his paws, playfully batting the winged creature back and forth. “This belong to anyone?”

Lifaria nodded toward Kris, pouting just a bit at the lost opportunity of showing off her culinary skills. She wasn't the best of cooks, but anything looked good with a fire-show to go with it, and Lif was always able to cook meat to the perfect temperature.

However, despite being disappointed by Kris refusing the offer, she thought perhaps she could sway him by doing him a 'favor'. And with the thought in her mind, Lif placed the bone gollum she had been cuddling down on the floor, petting it on it's boney little head before shoo-ing it on it's way, then strode over to the counter, placing her hands down and leaning over a bit with a friendly smile, "Don't worry, I'll get him" she said, then before Kris could approve - or disapprove, she was off out the store.

Lif wondered the streets, looking around for the gollum in question. It didn't take her long to spot him, stopped near the bakery by a man whom was knelt toward the creature. Lif walked over, calling and waving with an exaggerated, "THERE you are!" scooping the gollum up in her arms and petting him on the head as she smiled to the man she hadn't seen before. She offered him a smile and stretched out her hand to shake his, clutching the bone gollum tightly with the other so he wouldn't be able to wriggle away. "Hello, sir. I'm Lifaria Deroove, I don't believe we have met before"

Korbin

Korbin got back to his feet and was greeted with an outstretched hand. Something dark in him wanted to grab it but he quickly pushed the feeling away and looked to to her eyes. “No.” I think that was rude. “We haven’t, I’m Korbin,” he added smiling with a nod “Me and my friend arrived last night.” Pointing in the store window at a now empty spot where Vee should still be. “Uh.” He quickly turned to the window and cupped his eyes while he pressed against the window. “Shit.” he mumbled looking around the store for Vee.

He backed up and pulled the stores door back open. “I have a situation I need to deal with but it was nice to meet you.”

“This belong to anyone?”

Being ping ponged in the paws of an, apparently talking, cat was Vee covered from head to toe in frosting. Korbin's jaw hit the floor and he couldn't help but realize that he should have seen this coming.

Vee. What the hell did she do? he asked stepping up to the counter.

"No, you didn't. If anything, I should be the one apologizing. I've been holding up the line for long enough." Howard said, taking the to-go box from the counter. "Honestly, I'm not used to any of this stuff. I'm just a guy. No magical bells and whistles to speak of." he tapped the white box now in his hands as he talked, trying to focus his thoughts. Howard never thought of himself as anything other then human. Sure, he didn't remember anything before age 16, but the doctors Adam had him see told him this was just trauma induced amnesia and honestly, if it was that bad, he definitely didn't want to remember it. But still, there was an odd feeling he got in certain situations. It was a comfortable feeling, a warmth he felt when the wind was blowing all around him and while it was a good feeling, it had a bit of sadness to it also.

Howard then remembered the text he had received moments ago and picked up the pace, pulling out his wallet and placing a fifty dollar bill on the counter top as he had no time for the awkward exchange of change. "Keep the change and since I don't have time to be subtle..." Howard's sentence trailed off as he picked through his pockets for a pen and one of Adam's business cards. He flipped it over to it's blank side and wrote his cell phone number on the card, sliding it across the counter towards Aubrey as he continued his sentence. "If you maybe wanna hang out sometime." he said, rubbing the back of his head with nervousness as he left the sweets shop, cake in hand ready to head home.

..........

The walk home was longer then expected as Howard had gotten lost along the way. But, after circling the block for ten minutes and seeing the same tree fifteen times, he eventually found his new home. "Adam, I'm home! I even brought some cake." Howard said aloud figuring his friend would hear him and respond, but nothing happened. He gently placed the box on the kitchen table as he looked around the house, seeing no sign of Adam, until he reached his office minutes later. "Jesus Christ..."

Adam was passed out, lifeless on the floor surrounded by dozens of pages as well as a small pool of blood near his right hand. Confused and scared, Howard rushed over to Adam and lifted him up, sprinting over to the living room and placing him on the couch. He then gave Adam another look over. Noticing the hand wound, he grabbed some gauze from the bathroom drawer and wrapped his hand to stop the bleeding. It wasn't a serious amount, but it still worried the young man. This had only been the second time he had seen Adam bleed ever. The first was when he accidentally cut his hand on a broken glass cup, but this was different. It was too deep to be on accident. Howard decided after making sure Adam was still breathing to check the office for clues. Near the puddle of blood was a small, glass knife as well as the papers from before he saw. As he looked closer, he saw they had words he could barely make out because of how frantically they were written. The ones that worried him the most were the only sentences he could make out on any of the pages. They were written dozens if not hundreds of times and on multiple pages, each one more messy then the last, like a deranged madman had wrote them.

You left her. You left her. You left her....
It's your fault. It's your fault. It's your fault...
Coward. Coward. Coward. Coward...

Lif nodded sweetly to the man, shrugging off the fact that he hand refused the handshake. maybe he's oe of those cold and mysterious guys Lif began thinking in her mind, which made her grin. Still, the man, now named 'Korbin' was kind enough to introduce himself, and "Your friend?" Lifaria asked, peeking into the window of the store behind him. Seeing a cat, and a pixie, and then Korbin walk into the store to claim said pixie, Lif giggled, then entered the store too.

The bakery smelt devine, and Sweepy knew it too. The little gollum wriggled and squirmed and slipped out of Lif's arms, toddling over to the glass by the counter, pressing his boney features up close as he oogled the many cakes and sweets behind it. Lif walked up behind him and kneeled, "You want something sweet little gollum?" she asked. Sweepy nodded enthusiastically and pointed to a cake spread with pure white icing and strawberry toppings.

Lif grinned, nodded, then picked the gollum up into her arms again, cradelling him like a child, "Alright, but we have to wait in line" she said, looking back over the line of people who have yet to be served. She walked over and joined the back, watching the man named Korbin and the pixie re-unite at the counter.
