Abigail started writing stuff done. It was the outline to a paper that was due in about a week. She could write it up in one day and have it edited to perfection. To be honest the outline wasn't necessary at all. But it was her own organization OCD that forced her to write an outline way in advanced. Something about having it made it work. Abby shuffled through the endless book quotes that she would have add and she continued to write out her outline. She heard the espresso machine in the kitchen and she knew her brother was awake. He woke up to mess with that thing every day. If Aidan didn't mess with it she would be concerned. Abigail said good morning and accepted her cup of coffee. He teased her about school and she giggled. "I was just a bit distracted. But I'm back." The scholar sipped her drink before putting it down on the table. She heard him cough and raised an eyebrow. It didn't sound like much so she didn't bring it up. Abby moved papers around and pulled up her calender. "I even made time for dancing." There was some chunk of space missing in various places as well. That was for whenever Cas wanted to hang out with her. But she didn't want to finalize it in her calender. Abigail sipped her coffee and went back to essay organizing.

Cordelia shouldn't be enjoying her time in jail. In fact she should be dreading it. Begging to be released. Bargaining for her freedom. She was doing the opposite of all those things. The angel was enjoying taunting and annoying the guards. They weren't so happy about her though. In fact after some time a different guard came to replace the one closest to her cell. "Aw. He didn't want to be my friend." she complained. Not that she cared. Eventually she would have to get a non brainwashed angel that would happily break her out. But until then. "So when do I get my one phone call. Because I have some things I should confess too." She said. The guard seemed like he was listening so she continued. "One. I would like to confess to premeditated murder of two dumb council members. Two. I also confess to not liking the council. Three. I would like to confess to not eating the cafeteria food." The guard stopped listening. Cordelia was just trying to be annoying. It was semi working. "Okay. Jump out of a plane or extreme water rafting?" The guard was trying so hard to ignore the angel. "I would jump out of plane. My wings would help me. Speaking of wings. Did you know that I could break your wings without them being out?" The guard took a few more steps away from Cordelia.

Roman could feel Leon starting to wake up. He was moving about and getting even closer to Roman. Not that the older male was complaining. In fact, he held on tighter to make sure that Leon didn't try to move away. Leon wasn't officially awake until he yawned. But Roman still didn't say anything. The silence was beautiful. Something about it just made it seem like time stopped. Roman stroked his boyfriend's sides lightly. After a while, Roman couldn't keep quiet any longer. He wasn't gifted with the ability to be silent. That was something Abby could do. "Morning." Roman's voice was deep and husky. His voice often sounded like this when it was early. His eyes gazed over to the clock. It was early. He didn't have class for another two hours. He wouldn't bother Leon about it just yet though. "How did you sleep?"

Aidan watched as his sister continued working on her homework, which knowing her, probably wasn't due for another week or too. He coughed a little more and then a quiet sneeze escaped him. He seriously hoped it didn't end up as bad as Abby's had. "Time for dancing and time for Cas" Aidan teased ,noticing the blank spaces in her calander. He only guessed that time was reserved for his sister's crush. Speaking of crushes, he hadn't talked to Cordelia since she came over the day before to help Abby. He should give her a proper thank you. He pulled out his phone and quickly typed out the message for her.
[To Cordelia ]
[MSG: Hey, good morning. I just wanted to say thanks again for helping Abby yesterday. She's feeling much better]

He decided to leave out the part of him being sick now. It was probably nothing and she didn't need anything to worry about.

Castiel took his seat at the council's table, keeping a strict face while his inside twisted and turned in disgust. He hated being in the same room as all of these people. The council started out discussing small changes that would be made within the members. Some were being moved up a rank while others were being dropped. A few of the members suggested that it would be best to demote Castiel. He rolled his eyes and looked at his father who shook his head. [Color=red ["My son just had a momentary loss of judgment, but now he is back on the right track"[/color] the man assured everyone and Castiel couldn't help but smirk a bit. Sure old man, you keep thinking that he thought. The last matter they discussed was an angel that had stepped out of line. He knew exactly who they were talking about. He listened closely to the details of her sentence. It sounded like they were planning in keeping her in there for a while. That just wouldn't do. She didn't get to sit and do nothing while Castiel had to do all the work. After the meeting was over and everyone left, including his father, Cas pulled out his phone. When the head angel was unavailable there was only one person that could take her place.

Leon was enjoying the silence. Roman kept his arms wrapped around him and it didn't seem like he had anything to do. After several minutes of comfort level silence, Roman finally spoke. He just couldn't stay quiet could he? "Mm, good. You?" Leon responded to his question, deciding to stray from his usual four word answer. After a few more seconds of silence Leon looked up and was immediately captivated by the eyes staring back at him. He felt his body move on his own and he slowly reached up to place a kiss on Roman's lips. It lasted quite a while, and it would have lasted longer if it wasn't for the noise of Leon's phone. The blonde grunted in annoyance and slowly broke the kiss then reached over for his phone, holding it so Roman could also see the screen. He looked at the name on the screen and his stomach immediately sank. "Oh no…" there could only be one reason the second most powerful council member was calling him. Leon had been caught for sure, so he thought. After a long hesitation he answered. "Hello?" he was shaking already and his face was paler than usual. Then came the unexpected. "Cordelia is in trouble and I can't help her. I don't care how much fun you're having with your boy toy, get your blonde ass over here.". The god then hung up and Leon stared at his phone in shock. Was this some sort of prank?

Abby blushed when he said time for Cas. Maybe she shouldn't have done that. She couldn't tell if her planning was right or wrong. The brunette just continued doing her work. If she over thought this it would drive her insane. There was more coughing and sneezing from her brother and she looked at him. "Did I get you sick?" She asked concerned. Abby didn't want her brother to be sick. He wouldn't be able to any of his art stuff and that was just an unpleasant time. "Should I call nurse Cordelia?" Abigail was only teasing, but she would call for help if something was going on with her brother.

Image

Cordelia was just annoying the hell out of them. Currently on her third guard she was thinking of more things to say to them. Things that would make them mad. "How many brainwashed angels will you all filter through until I get someone that I like." She walked closer to the bars of the cage and reached out to touch the wings. The angel flinched. "I wish my wings were pitch black. Grey is boring." Cordelia ran her fingers through the wings some more and then yanked a feather out. The guard shouted and glared at the captured head angel. "Woah. That was much easier than it should have been." The former head angel tried to hand the feather back, but the guard just smacked it out of her hand. "Calm down. It was just one feather." Cordelia pulled out her own wings and flapped them a little. She looked at them and then back at the guard. "So...when do I get my phone call? I never got it. The last guard was supposed to give it to me." The guard was scowling. If she kept this up two things could happen. He gets annoyed and leaves. Or he gets angry and comes to attack her. Unfortunately angels had emotions so messing with him didn't really give positive results. "Whatever you are thinking. Just know that I don't need a bat to turn your skin black and blue."

Image

Progress was being made in the relationship already. Leon didn't answer fine and his tone was light. This was something that the older male could wake up to more often. "I slept well." He answered then they were back to silence. Roman wasn't going to ruin it this time. The silence was helping him forget about the class he had. As did the kiss that Leon blessed him with this morning. Roman pulled him closer happily responding to it, but then Leon's phone rang. He was hoping the younger male would ignore it. Their kiss ended and he grabbed his phone. There was a name on the screen. Casteel. He didn't know who that was, but it immediately made Roman unhappy. He sat quiet as Leon answered. The phone call lasted barely a minute. Leon was just staring at the phone and Roman was staring at Leon. There was some more silence before the older male spoke up. "Who was that? And why do you look slightly frightened?" Leon was much paler than usual so he assumed that there was some fear involved with his emotions.

Aidan chuckled at his sister's reaction. It was rather cute to see her getting flustered over a boy like that even though he didn't necessarily like it. "I think I'll be fine, it's just a cough" he assured her, even though his body was beginning to hurt as well. Speaking of nurse Cordelia, he checked his phone for any messages but there were none. She must be busy, she did have a lot on her plate. Aidan didn't want to push his luck by sending another, so he put his phone away and got to his feet. "I'm going to get dressed" he informed Abby. He still had a school to attend to as well and an art project he had yet to finish. Perhaps he should finish that first before getting dressed. He headed out of the living room and to his work area, settling down in front of the easel. The project was basically done, but there was still some details to be added. Picking up his brush he got to work, letting out yet another sneeze.

Image

Castiel hung up the phone and turned back to the large meeting hall. There was something ironic about him being in there. He began to pace slowly, thinking of his next move. He won't be able to be in the council and back at the angel's headquarters leading the angel's all at the same time, which is why Cordelia needed to be taken out of custody. But how? Asking the council to pardon her would be much to suspicious not to mention they'd never agree. Cas let out a sigh that almost exhod through the large empty room before he walked out and back towards the angel headquarters. He had a plan formulating, but he needed Leon here to act as side kick for the time being. Maybe he'd be Lee's mouthy than his previous one. He walked through the meeting room doors, immediately causing a fuss amongst the angels, but quickly shut them up. They all looked at him expectantly as if he had the answers to everything but for once, he didn't. "Your head angel has been captured and thrown in jail for besting the crap out of two council members. Do any of you know what that is?" he paused for a moment and the angel's looked confused. "That, is being stupid. If any of you decide to do something stupid that gets you in trouble I can't help you".

Image

Leon stared at the phone for several more seconds before he could speak. "Th-that was one of my bosses" he muttered. He looked at Roman with large eyes, afraid to say the next part. "He knows…he knows about you" he said, panic clearly filling his voice. To make matters worse, he had to go back. He couldn't just leave Cordelia. Leon was shaking from head to toe. Something told him that if he left, everything would be over. "I don't want to go…." his voice was quiet and a little shaky "But my sister's in trouble". He had no idea why Castiel even bothered to tell him, or why he would call Leon for help, or why he said he couldn't help Cordelia even if he wanted to. Had their plan worked after all? Was he somehow on their side now? Cordelia did say he missed a lot. Regardless, Castiel knew about Roman and if he wanted to, he could tell everyone. Maybe Leon could get there before that happened. "I have to go" he said, quickly getting up and getting dressed. His voice was still drenched in panic. He hated having to do this again, but this time his reasons were important. He needed to help Cordelia. "I'm sorry, but she needs me". He finished getting dressed, picked up his phone and hurried out of the bedroom and towards the front door.

Abigail reassured her that he would be fine. But the moment it got worse, she was going to drop everything and take care of her brother. He did the same for her. She took another sip of her drink and watched her brother walk out. Then she went back to doing her school work. The outline was practically finished, but she wanted to fine tune it. Write in the details with a bright red pen. The coffee was helping with her productivity. Looking over at her phone there were no messages. She was kind of hoping to see Cas today since she didn't really get to spend time with him after he made her feel better. Abby took another sip of the drink and continued marking her paper with red.

Fourth angel. One more guard and they just might send a council member. That would either be dangerous or a lot of fun. They don't have emotions though so annoying them wouldn't work. They would just keep telling her to shut up. Completely unphased. Running her hands through her hair she decided that she would sing. Cordelia cleared her throat. "I came in like a wrecking ball! I never hit so hard in love! All I wanted was to break your walls" Cordelia was dancing around her cell like she was in a music video. Guard number four was not happy. "Don't make me come in there!" His voice deep and stern. He was being completely serious, but Cordelia thought he was bluffing. She stared at him for a moment and let him believe that she had stopped singing. For a while there was silence, but of course Cordelia lived to piss people off. "ALL YOU EVER DID WAS! BRE-E-EAK ME!" The guard had enough. He disappeared for a moment and she thought that a council member was going to take his place. Instead he returned with handcuffs and duct tape. She backed further up into the cell. The guard grabbed her and cuffed her hands behind her back. "Uncuff me! I know m-" The guard put duct tape over her mouth. He shoved her so that she fell to the ground and went back to guarding her, making sure that he locked the cell doors. Cordelia started muffling profanities behind the duct tape while trying to stand back up.

Roman was a bit jealous, but he was trying not to show it. Even though Casteel was his boss it still made him jealous. He didn't know this Cas. He could be trying to pursue his Leon. That thought irritated him. It made him feel better that this boss knew about him, but it clearly bothered Leon. "Is that a bad thing? Am I supposed to be a secret?" He didn't like the idea of being a secret boyfriend, but he would do just about anything for Leon. The younger male started talking about leaving and got up out of the bed. Roman sat up trying to figure out what he should say and what he should do. He didn't want Leon to go. He didn't know when he would see his own boyfriend again. Why was Leon always leaving? He understood that it was his sister, but he didn't want Leon to go. The younger male left the room and Roman got up out of bed. "Maybe I could come with to help." He called while getting dressed. He went out towards where Leon was.

Aidan had been painting foe about five minutes before his head started pounding. It started out as a minor headache which seemed to get worse by the second as he continued to paint. He finally had to stop, not being able to concentrate, he decided to find some pain killers so he could continued working. He also had to go to school in about two hours. He got up and headed to the kitchen and began searching through the medicine cabinet. He found the strongest brand of pills a took a couple, followed by half a can of coke. He headed back to his work area, determined to finish the project but as the minutes passed he only seemed to be getting worse. He let out a serious of loud sneezes and his head felt like it was going to explode. It was official, he was sick. He sighed in frustrated and get to his feet again, grabbing a few more pills on the way to his room. ”I’m going to try to sleep off this headache” Aidan informed his sister before heading to his room and crawling under the covers. His entire biddy ached and his throat was beginning to burn as well. He wondered if there was still some of Abigail’s medicine left.

Image

Castiel had to tell the angels to settle down several times. ”I know you’re scared and confused but I need you all to shut up” he said as he rubbed his temples. He looked at the time. It was early. A lot could happen in one day. Case leaned against the wall, the wheels slowly turning in his head. He had a plan, but he needed Leon to get there. He couldn’t possibly leave all these angels unattended at the moment and in the current situation. Who know what they’d do. ”Leon will be here soon, so just sit down and be quiet until he does.”. He heard a few groans come from some angels and rolled his eyes. They sure loved to complain. He found his mind wandering away from the plan and freeing Cordelia to Abigail. He wondered what she was doing. He decide to ask. He pulled his phone out and typed a quick message.
[To Abby]
[Good morning beautiful]

Image

Leon could hear Roman following closely behind. It killed him to have to leave again but this time he really had no choice. He stopped once he reached the porch and turned to face his boyfriend, taking his hands in his. ”I’m sorry…I’m not ditching you again, I promise. She just… Cordelia needs me, and you need to stay here” he explained, almost pleasingly. ”I’ll be back, just… whatever you do, stay here.” he repeated before gently cupping his face and giving him a kiss that lasted several seconds. E planned on coming back, even if he had to kick and claw his way out of Eden. They broke apart and Leon turned on his heels before rushing down the steps. He began running, almost at angel speed, to assure Roman wouldn’t follow him. He finally reached the abandoned buildings he usually hid behind and stopped to take a break, checking to make sure no one was looking.

Abigail sipped her coffee and almost dropped her cup when she heard her brother sneeze. It had freaked her out. The sneeze was loud and unexpected. Her brother told her everything was okay earlier, but she was worried about him. She wouldn't hesitate to call someone for help. But for now he seemed fine. Abby had finished her outline and it was onto math. Half way through it her brother called out to her. A nap would do him some justice. She would check on him after she finished her homework. Using a black pen, she went through her math homework. It wasn't hard. Math was something she was fairly good at. It was the way the math homework was organized that took so long. Abby wanted to make sure that it was easy to follow when a teacher graded it. So she would copy the problem down in pen before working on the problem in pencil. Then she would switch over to a red pen for the answer. It was tedious process. But teachers never complained. Out of the corner of her eye she saw her phone vibrate. Abby picked it up and smiled wide at who the message was from. Pausing her homework she read his message and blushed. Even when he wasn't here he made her turn red. Quickly, she replied.
[To: Cas]
[MSG: Good Morning Cas. How are you?]

Roman was listening to Leon. He heard everything he was saying. Cordelia was in trouble and she needed him. The younger male really didn't want the older male to follow him. He said he was coming back, but Leon had an ugly habit of leaving with the intention of never returning. And now there was someone named Casteel that was making Roman feel jealous. He shared a kiss with his boyfriend and watched him for a moment as he ran. The older male just lingered on his porch for a moment before shutting his house door and running after him. Normally he would have just waited, but he was truly scared of losing Leon. He was a bit behind him, but he was within sights. Roman followed him to this abandoned area. Just as he was about to call out, Leon sprouted what looked like angel wings and took off. The older male was confused. His boyfriend just had wings and was now flying off in the sky. Roman thought for a moment that he was in a weird dream. He was hoping by now he would wake up and be with his boyfriend back at the house. But the picture of Leon with angelic wings just kept sinking in lower and lower. Roman tried to turn and leave, but two bigger people grabbed him. He tried to fight them, but one injected him in the neck. Slowly, he stopped fighting and his body just went limp.

Aidan was feeling worse and worse. He didn't want to bother anyone but his entire body hurt and he could hardly breathe out of his nose. His chest felt tight, as if he had asthma. Cordelia still hadn't responded to his first message and he didn't want to message her again and bother her. He began coughing violently, causing his body to hurt even more. He needed some of that magic medicine. He cleared his throat and attempted to call for his sister but his voice wouldn't give. He wasn't sure what to do. He couldn't get up or he might collapse. He stretched as far as he could and grabbed his phone, quickly messaging Abigail.
[To Abby]
[Do you have any more of that magic medicine left? I need it]

After pressing send another cough fit escaped him. He hated being sick almost as much as he hated missing art class. He groaned and rolled onto his side, letting his eyes slide closed. Maybe he could nap after all.

Castiel immediately opened Abigail's message and smiled. He was typing out a reply, just as the meeting room doors opened. Leon came rushing in, stopping mid step when he saw Castiel. Cas gave him a nonchalant smile and got to his feet. "That was quick. I thought I'd have to pry you out of your boyfriend's hands" Cas joked, but Leon didn't seem to like his humor. "I don't care who you are, if you hurt him-" Castiel put a hand up, stopping the blonde mid threat. He had obviously not been filled in on anything that had happened up until then. "I don't care what you do with your private life. I need you to be a leader right now" Cas attempted to explain, earning a confused look from Leon. "Stay here with everyone. I'll go get your friend out" he said plainly.

Leon cocked an eyebrow. Since when was Castiel nice, and since when did a god need Leon for anything. Not to mention that he completely brushed off the Roman topic. He really had missed a lot. "So what, you're a good guy now?" he asked skeptically and the other male almost chuckled. "Good guy? No. But I am on your side. Just make sure no one here runs off and does anything stupid" he instructed before adjusting his suit and heading out the door. Leon watched him in a bit of awe but mostly shock. Perhaps he shouldn't have been away for so long.

Abby couldn't take this anymore. Her brother was officially sick. If she hadn't already finished her homework, he would be distracting her. Getting up, she went to the kitchen to make her brother some soup. All they had was the canned chicken noodle soup. Eventually one of them would have to go shopping, but not until everyone in the house felt better. Her phone vibrated again she immediately thought it was Cas. But she was wrong. Aidan was requesting her magical medicine. She didn't reply. Abigail walked into her room and phone the tiny bottle on her night stand. She didn't know if it would work for him, but she would try. The brunette jogged over to her brother's room as he was coughing. She frowned and moved to his side. "Sorry for getting you sick Dan" She dropped a few drops of medicine in his mouth while it was open. "Want me to call someone?" By someone she meant Cordelia. If her brother got the same sickness she could only imagine how he was currently feeling. At one point Abby thought she was going to go blind or just completely pass out. She was praying that it wasn't going to happen to her brother. She refrained from letting worry show on her face. "I'm going to check on the soup." Kissing the top of her brother's head, she walked back into the kitchen she check on the soup she was making for him.

Image

Cordelia gave up on trying to get him. Even her wings were being useless. Every time she flapped them wind would send her flying in a different direction. The guard found this quite amusing while Cordelia did not. She studied his face so that she could exact revenge the second she was freed whenever that was. Hopefully someone came to get her. The former head angel would not like to rot in this prison and let Cas take over. That just had bad idea written all over it. It wasn't that he was bad leader, but he was still loyal to Council despite his feelings toward his dad. One wrong move from an angel and that was the end of everything. The angel needed to get out. She started moving around again in attempts to stand up. Muffling more profanities every time it failed. The guard laughed. Using her wings, she generated enough wind to get to the front of her cell. She stuck her leg between the bars and kicked him. He shouted in pain and Cordelia laughed. Quickly, she got to the back of the cage. The trouble maker was now enjoying her time in the cage again. Even though she couldn't speak or move, she was going to continue to annoy the guards.

Roman was dazed and confused. He had a dream that he saw Leon resemble an angel and fly off into the sky. And then two people grabbed him. His head was pounding and his body ached. Slowly his eyes opened and they adjusted to the light. He had no idea where he was and who he was with. The male attempted to move, but he was strapped to something. Getting a better look he saw that it was a metal table. Something that people would lay on to be tested on. At least in the movies. The lights were right in his eyes and he was having a hard time seeing exactly who was in the room, but he could hear them. "Is this the one?" "Yes. He has been with the second in command angel for some time now" Angel? He has only been with Leon. Is that who they were talking about? That would mean Leon was actually an angel. Whenever Roman saw Leon again, his boyfriend would have some explaining to do. "Is he strong enough?" "He has to be" Strong enough for what? Roman didn't want to stay and find out. He started struggling against the restraints which grabbed their attention. There was a older looking male and one not so old. "Start the transformation." "What happens if it doesn't work?" The older male looked at the younger one. "Then infect him." With that the older male left the room. The younger male grabbed some tools that looked excruciatingly painful. When the man got to work, Roman let out a scream and everything went black.

Aidan barely managed to pass the drops through his throat and gave Abigail a silent thank you. When she asked if he wanted her to call Cordelia she shook her head. Of she hadn't responded yet she wouldn't respond now. "She's busy" he eventually managed to say and curled up as all as he could to preserve his body heat. Abigail said she'd check on the soup and he nodded, though he wasn't really hungry. She kissed his forehead and he smiled, thanking her once again. Abigail left and Aidan was left to think. This was the oddest cold he'd ever had. It progressed so quickly and suddenly. He wanted to talk to Cordelia. At least to take his mind off his aching body, but there was nothing he could do about that. Another violent cough fit took over him which left him completely drained of his energy. He hoped Abigail would hurry, not because he wanted soup but because he wanted company.

Image

Castiel quickly made his way over to the correctional facility. He walked in as casually as he could. No one asked questions or even dared to look at him. Being in the council still had his up sides. He made it to the cells and quietly walked all the way to the last one where Cordelia was being held. "Not so powerful now, are you?" he smirked, watching the guard out of the corner of his eyes. "Don't worry my visit won't last long, I just came to tell you that we plan on leaving you in here until you rot" his voice was cold and firm. The guard next to the cell smirked as well, as Cas turned on his heels and started walking out. He counted all the guards on his way back to the entrance. Ten guards. That was all? Perhaps it was enough to restrain two angels, but they'd be facing bigger guns today. Once made it to the first guard he turned around to face him. "Keep and eye on the girl" he ordered and the guard nodded, only to be knocked out seconds later by Cas's fist. "Oh and watch out for that fist". He headed back towards the cell, swinging his fists left and right, making it seem as barbaric as possible. He made it back to the last guard who looked at him with confusion and was soon out cold on the floor. He unlocked the cell with ease and removed the tape and handcuffs. "Leon is guarding the angels and yoy might want to go back to the mainland. I'm not breaking you out a second time." he informed her before walking back out and as far away from the facility as possible.

Abigail turned off the stove and poured the soup from the pot into a bowl. She washed the pot and grabbed a spoon from the drawer. She didn't want to leave her brother for too long. She skipped to his room with the bowl in her hand. Aidan looked so miserable in the bed. If she could cure him the way Cas cured her she would do it in a heartbeat. She set the bowl on his nightstand before crawling into the bed with him. She wrapped her arms around him. If seems like they were just going to keep passing the sickness back and forth. But Abby just wanted her brother to get back. "Are you even hungry?" She asked running her fingers through his hair. Cuddling her brother and letting him fall asleep might be the best thing for him anyway.

Cordelia was now bored. There wasn't much else she could do and it wasn't like she could talk. The duct tape was making sure of that. She could only imagine how happy the guards were the moment she shut up. Laying there on the ground she truly believed that she was going to be in here forever. And Cas, traitor council member, reassured that for her. She glared at him and thought about the different ways she would hit him with her baseball bat. But soon he returned, taking out every guard with him. So he was still on her side. For a moment she thought Cas was just trying to get rid of her. "Ow.." she said when he got the duct tape off. He wasn't very gentle with it. Before she could thank him Cas was gone. That was probably best. Cordelia sprouted her wings and took off. Of course she made a quick pit stop to her phone. Cas and Leon had to talk to her some how. Flapping her wings hard, she took off towards the mainland. Her apartment wasn't the best decision. The only other place she knew was Aidan's. She silently prayed that he was home when she landed close to his house. There was no one around to see her. Folding her wings away, she walked up to the door and knocked on it. Now she was to wait. As patiently as possible despite the hurry to be behind closed doors. The door opened and she was greeted by Abby. "Hi. Is Aidan home?" Abigail nodded. "Yeah, but he is sick." Cordelia's smile dropped. "May I come in to see him?" Abigail opened the door wider to let her in. Cordelia immediately went to Aidan's room. He looked like Abby when she was sick. "Aidan. How are you feeling?"

Roman's body was exhausted. With the screaming, fighting, and shouting he just wanted to sleep. His body was being tampered with and altered. They were adding things, taking other things away, changing things, and destroying things. The older male just didn't have it in him to fight them anymore. Whatever was happening happened. It was practically over at this point. The person working on him stepped back and admired his work. "The final step." The person left the room and Roman relaxed a bit. He needed to get out of here. Leon needed him. He needed Leon. Although Roman thought he was weakening the restraints, he wasn't. He wasn't strong enough too at the moment. The experimenter returned with the same older male from earlier. Roman couldn't tell if he was happy to see what happened to Roman or not. Both their faces in neutral mode. The elder experimenter placed his hand on Roman's forehead. At first the male was confused, but then he was dazed. And then he just grew tired and eventually he just fell asleep.

Aidan heard when Abigail walked in with the soup. It smelled delicious, and he would have love to have some, but he didn't think that he could. She set the soup aside and crawled into bed with him. Maybe that wasn't the best idea, that's probably how he got sick in the first place, but he was grateful for the warmth. "A little, but i don't know if I can get it down" he spoke quietly so his throat wouldn't hurt more than the necessary. Maybe after a bit of sleep he would be able to have some. He closed his eyes and was already drifting off to sleep when there was a knock at the door that startled him awake. He let out a soft sigh ad Abby got up to answer it. There was about a minute of silence, or almost silence. He could hear another voice at the door but it was too far and he was too tired to figure out who it was. A few seconds later though, the owner of the voice came in asking how he was feeling. Aidan opened his eyes and smiled softly at Cordelia. He wondered if Abby had texted her after all. "Just a cold" he assured her followed by a cough. "I'll be fine" he assured her, deciding to leave out the fact that he felt horrible at the moment. He didn't need to worry her for no reason.

Image

Castiel had left the facility as quickly as it could. The council would soon get word that Cordelia had escaped and he wanted to be as far away as possible. The further place from the facility was the angel's conference hall where Leon was holding everyone hostage. It was probably best to let them go now and put them back to work so it looked like Castiel was actually doing what he was supposed to. He made it back to the hall and over to Leon who seemed to be lost in his thoughts. "Alright, the princess has been rescued now everyone get the hell out of here and get to work. I'm still your boss" he ordered and all the angels scrambled out of the building and off to do their own thing. Castiel turned to Leon who seemed to have a worried mask on, probably worried over the head angel. "She went back to the mainland to lay low, so you're my new sidekick" he announced with a pat on the shoulder. Leon rolled his eyes but agreed. Castiel liked this much better than Cordelia's back talk.

Image

Leon watched as all the angels obeyed Castiel, no question. It s what they were used to, so it was hard to determined if they really did see him as one of theirs now. Leon had trouble wrapping his mind around them. Castiel called him his side kick, after informing him that Cordelia was free and safe, and he rolled his eyes but just agreed. After all, he had just risked his own life to save his best friend. He couldn't argue with that. "You just lay low for now too. I'll contact you when I need you" these were his last instructions and then he walked out, leaving Leon alone. He told him to lay low, so Leon would just go back to doing what he usually did. Patrol the streets for any hooligans and await further instructions. He walked out and headed down the main street. His thoughts went back to Roman. What he must be thinking of him now that he left yet again, with a barely acceptable explanation. When this was all over, he'd explain. He'd tell him everything from start to finished, including how Roman had hooked Leon from the second he opened the door. He'd know everything.

Abigail felt better that a nurse was here with Aidan. She didn't even call for Cordelia. She must have like a third sense of some kind to know that the Lancings needed medical assistance. She trusted Cordelia so Abby was going to shower and get dress. She had class. The scholar disappeared into the bathroom and took a long necessary hot shower. It felt nice after her sick day. Her brother will get the same relief once he gets better. Abby got dressed and grabbed her backpack. She appeared in Aidan's room. "I have to go to class. Cordelia can you stay with Aidan please?" Cordelia smiled and agreed. "Of course." Abby walked over and kissed her brother's cheek. "I won't be gone long." She said before leaving his room. Making sure she didn't leave any homework papers on the table she left the house. She had about an half an hour to walk from here to her class. Putting in her headphones, she started to walk.

Image

Cordelia smiled softly at Aidan. He said he was fine, but she knew better. But there was nothing she could do right now. For the time being, Cordelia is cut off from Eden. Cas would have to do something, but that would get them in extra trouble. Unless he gets a thousand times worse within the day, she was going to treat this like a human problem. "Alright if you say so." She said. There was soup on the nightstand that hadn't been touched. It must have been for Aidan. Just then his sister came in having to leave. Of course Cordelia didn't mind staying with Aidan. She didn't have anything else to do. Once Abigail left, Cordelia slid into bed next to Aidan. It's not like angels got sick."I will be here as long as you need me." She said.

Image

There was a bright light. There were many bright lights. The table was cold as were the hands that were running all over him. Its like they were checking for something. He didn't know what it was, but he didn't like it. He shifted. The hands disappeared and the people connected to them backed up. An older male, recognized as the head council member, walked over to him. He looked down at him with a neutral look to his face. "Roman?" Roman? Who was Roman? "You're Roman. Head Angel." He was an angel. His name was Roman. "You work for me." He works for the head council man. Roman nodded and sat up. His wings were out. They were a bright gold color and almost twice his arm span. He flapped them a bit. "I need you to arrest Leon." Roman needed to figure out who Leon was and then he needed to arrest him. Sliding off the table, Roman left the room he was in and started searching for Leon.

Even though he didn't want to bother her too much, Aidan was grateful that Cordelia had shown up. She was a nurse after all so she'd know how to help, and this way Abigail didn't have to miss school. Speaking of Abby, she walked in to let Aidan no she was going to class. He just nodded and smiled softly as she placed a kiss on his cheek and left. Now it was just him and Cordelia again. Under any other circumstances he would be rejoicing and thinking of ways to get her to stay longer, but in the state he was in he didn't have the energy to do any of that. He was happy that she was there though, to at least keep him company. "I will be here as long as you need me." She said as she joined him under the covers and even though he was grateful for the extra heat, he had to protest. "I don't want you getting sick" he basically whispered. His voice unable to go any higher. This is exactly how he had gotten sick in the first place.

Image

Leon was back to his ruthless job of being a second I'm command of the angels, and since Cordelia was no longer on the island, he had to do her job as well. Luckily, everything was calm on the island. He was required to go and pick up any humans either and there didn't seem to be any crimes committed recently, aside from Cordelia's break out that is. He walked silently and at a slow pace through the streets, not having anything else to do, to attempt to keep busy. If he didn't there would be nothing to stop him from taking flight and showing up at Roman's doors, and curling up in his arms again. But it was too soon to go back. The higher ups could get suspicious and follow him. He thought for a second and decided to send his boyfriend a message.
[To Roman]
[MSG: Cordelia is okay, and so am I. I'll be back soon. I promise ♡]

He hot send and stared at the phone for a bit before deciding to send another message. He had to check in with someone.
[To Lia]
[MSG: Are you okay? Castiel said you broke out. He also filled me in on everything…be careful]

He sighed and out the phone in his pocket. Perhaps it was time to go home. He picked up the pace a bit, but began slowing down when he thought he saw something, or rather someone, familiar from far away.

Cordelia wrapped her arms around Aidan, pulling him close. He was extra comfy even when he was sick. The former head angel just wanted to keep watch of him. So if he gets worse she could fly him straight to Eden. She would risk her life, but anything to save Aidan. He didn't deserve to be tied up in her mess. He tried to protest, but he was way to weak to do anything. "Trust me when I say. I won't get sick." Looking over him she couldn't help but frown. Cordelia felt the need to tell him what was going on with him. Why she was even here. What she was. What happened to his sister. But she couldn't. Not right now. Not while his life is technically hanging by heavenly thread. Her phone vibrated and she checked it. It was Leon. Glad to know that someone told Leon that stuff was happening while he was living his happy ending. Hopefully nothing happens to that happily ever after. She quickly texted back.
[To: Leon]
[MSG: I will be fine over here. Aidan is sick and I am a bit worried though.]

Roman was wandering around Eden looking for a Leon. Other angels examined him from a distance. Some with fear in their eyes and others with curiosity. He wasn't like the rest. He was clearly much stronger and much bigger. But a more noticeable difference was that he belonged to the Council. It was like he was branded without the brand. Finally he just grabbed an angel. "Where is Leon?" The angel pointed in the general direction of where he was and Roman just dropped the angel that helped him. He continued off in the direction and soon in the distance he saw the angel the council wanted arrested. Roman took a moment to look over him as they neared each other. Something about him was familiar, but the minor thought was invaded with his current mission. He stopped before Leon and flapped his wings. "You are under arrest." Then he reached out and grabbed the former second in command angel and dragged him the direction of the jail.

Aidan felt Cordelia moved closer. He kept his eyes closed but he was beyond grateful for the warmth. She assured him that she wouldn't get sick and he was a bit skeptical, but he didn't protest. He didn't want her to leave and he didn't want to be alone. He wondered why he wasn't feeling any better yet. When Castiel gave Abby the medicine she started feeling better minutes later. Maybe his body was stubborn. He rested his head against Cordelia's shoulder and let the heavy need for sleep slowly take over his body. It felt like he hadn't slept in days even though he had slept through the entire night the might before. In his sleep he coughed a few times and groaned in pain when he tried moving, but still didn't wake up. The need to rest was too much. Not too long after he began shivering just enough to be noticeable but not too horribly. He attempted to move closer to the angel in search of more heat.

Image

Leon stopped walking when he saw the familiar figure. It couldn't be what he was thinking…he had to be seeing things. He blinked a few times and rubbed his eyes as the figure moved closer, but unfortunately he was correct. He stared in horror at the image before him. Why was Roman here? How did he get here? [I ]Why did he have wings?[/i]. Was this some kind of horribly nightmare? Leon stood frozen in place and stared in disbelief as his supposed lover walked closer, a look on his face that he couldn't quite read. Had he been lying all along? Leon's stomach sunk at the thought that he could possibly have been tricked again. Just when he thought he had found something real. "Roman…what's going on?" he asked, his voice shaking slightly. "You are under arrest." Leon's eyes slowly widened as Roman grabbed hold of him and started dragging him towards the direction of the jail. He was so stupid. How did he not see this coming? It served him right for being so naive, but still…he couldn't help but to let a few tears escape. "Ro, what are you doing! Let go!" he struggled against him but it was no use. He was much stronger. After much struggling he finally gave up, exhausted. "You liar….you damn liar, you promised!". The angry tears were now rolling uncontrollably. This was really happening.

A sigh escaped her and she flipped a page in the textbook. Her psychology professor was going over some important people and she barely heard the name. The scholar was trying to concentrate, but she was having a hard time. For the first time in forever, Abigail is completely unfocused on her school work. Her thoughts went between Aidan and Cas. She was worried for her brother even though he was in expert medical care. The brunette trusted Cordelia and trusted that she would help make her brother better. But if he had the same illness as Abby, she was still freaking out on the inside. Luckily, her teachers always put their notes online. Whatever she missed she would be able to figure it out later. Once she is sure that her brother is well. And then she was thinking about Cas. But she was always thinking about Mr. Perfect now. She was wondering what he was doing and if he wanted to see her. Sometimes she just wondered if he was thinking about her. Most of the time, Abby thinks that he has better things to do that think about her all the time.

Image

Roman wanted to ask the fugitive why he was struggling. Resisting arrest is illegal everywhere. It was better just to comply. The bigger angel just tightened his hold and continued dragging him off to jail. Leon wanted to be freed, but he wasn't going against the council man's orders. Leon is to go directly to jail. No detours. No short cuts. No warning. Finally Leon just stopped fighting and followed Roman. "You liar….you damn liar, you promised!" Looking at the captured angel, he raised an eyebrow. What did he promise? He had never met the angel before in his life. This was the first time he has actually met any of these angels. "I never promise you anything." His voice strong, yet confused. Roman was many things. But he wasn't a liar. Getting to the cells, he opened one and urged Leon inside. He should hand cuff him or do something his wings, but that unnecessary. He locked the jail door and then turned his back. Crossing his arms he rested against the wall. He was to stand guard so that Leon didn't escape like the other angel.

Castiel had spent hours dealing with council issues and hearing all about how Cordelia managed to escape. He couldn't even take credit for helping her. He walked into the council room for the hundredth time that day, it seemed, and took his seat. "As much as I love spending time with you father, could you maybe schedule less meetings. Say, once a month" he suggested, getting an unamused look from the head council man. The mat sat down and began talking about how the rogue angel needed to be captured and punished for what she did and all that unimportant nonsense. Castiel unintentially toned out and his mind drifted back to Abigail. She had messaged him earlier but he was too busy to respond. Or rather, he couldn't with his father breathing down his neck. Cas took the opportunity to respond now.
[To Abby]
[MSG: I'm good. But I'd be better if you were with me]

With these new emotions, flirting was coming much easier to Cas than ever before. Not to mention that he actually liked the recipient of his attention. His mind then began to tune back into the conversation and something caught his attention. New head angel?. Could it be Leon? It would make things much easier.

Image

Despite his struggle to break lose, Roman had a whole new level of strength all of a sudden. He didn't bother to struggle anymore, he simply walked in silence. "I never promised you anything". That single comment hit Leon harder than he expected. It felt like the air had been knocked out of him. Not only was he being betrayed, but Roman was acting like he didn't even know him. Leon was thrown inside a jail cell and Roman was apparently standing guard. Leon walked up to the bars and gripped them tightly as if he could rip them apart. "So everything we did, everything you said, was just a stupid act?! At least be man enough to own up to what you're doing!". Leon had been hurt and betrayed many times by many different people, but never in his life had it hurt so bad. He felt like his entire world had just collapsed. He leaned his forehead on the bars and and took in a deep breath. "I hate you…I hate you more than I've ever hated anything" his tone was back to its usual cold and heartless one, and the worst part was, this time he wasn't pretending.

Abigail barely made it through her classes. Her mind was elsewhere the entire time. She was sitting in the cafe waiting for her coffee now. She was hoping that some caffeine would help her focus a bit. The server brought her the mocha latte with extra espresso shots. She smiled at him and sipped it slowly. The brunette flipped through her psychology textbook in attempts to remember what they were talking about. But it was a fail. The scholar decided just to read the entire chapter thinking that it was better than scanning what she clearly didn't know. There was a whole section of Freud that she must have missed. Just then her phone buzzed. She was thinking that it was her brother needing her. But it was Cas. That was just as nice. A blush spread on her face when she read his message. Even when he wasn't around he made her turn red. She decided to take a break from reading and text him.
[To: Cas]
[MSG: Well I'm free right now. Only if you want to though.]

Abby returned to the textbook, a sigh escaping her. She took another sip of her coffee as she read.

Image

Roman was waiting for one of the council members to come and tell him what his next mission was. But they seemed to be in a meeting. So he would wait here by Leon's jail cell. Not that it was very pleasant. The man was screaming at him as if the head angel had done something wrong. As if they had known each other. But Roman was sure they hadn't met until this moment. Not until the head council member had sent Roman to fetch the fugitive. So why was he so upset? Then the words I hate you hurt more than he thought it would. But he didn't know why. Roman didn't need the fugitive to like him. Roman turned around to look at Leon. He seemed broken and hurt. Not that it was any of his concern, but he wasn't going to have the angel yell at him. "I don't understand your anger and I don't understand what it has to do with me. But just understand I am following orders." Roman turned back around and crossed his arms again. Hopefully that would be the last he hears from the fugitive.

Cas decided to skip out on the rest of the meeting. He told his father he was going to get a head start on looking for the fugitive angel before she could get too far. His father bought the excuse and allowed him to leave without any arguments. Cas was relieved to say the least. He bowed out and headed towards the edge of the island, stopping momentarily to read Abigail's text. He smiled softly, having already been thinking of going to her anyway. He slowly typed out a reply before leaving.
[To Abby]
[Where are you? I'm on my way]

He didn't bother to wait for her response before taking off towards the mainland. He landed safely behind a few buildings, close to Abigail's house, and began walking slowly as he waited for her reply.

Image

Leon was tired of crying, and he was tired of yelling. Roman refused to budge, claiming that he was only following orders. Since when did he follow orders so willingly. "You couldn't even listen when I told you not to follow me and now you're following orders?". As he spoke a thought slowly occurred to him. Was this the council's doing? Castiel knew. He knew about their relationship. This was probably his fault, he probably told him. That damn traitor! That had to be it. There was no possibly way everything that happened between Roman and him was a lie…he didn't want to believe it. This was the council's doing, no doubt. At least, that's what he preferred to believe even if something inside him told him not to. "Screw you Roman Everest…" he cursed under his breath as he kicked one of the bars and walked to the back of the cell, taking a seat on the floor against the back wall. It didn't matter what had happened, it was over. Everything was over. And as if things weren't bad enough, a familiar face walked up in front of the cell, looking down at Leon with that stupid apathetic look. "How the mighty have fallen".

Abby got this nausea feeling as she tried to take another sip of her latte. Thinking that it was the coffee and not her, she tossed the cup into the trash can. There was no need to continue drinking it anyway. The caffeine from this morning on top of half of the latte should get her through the rest of the day. The scholar had managed to get through the chapter in the textbook. She had another chapter to read for homework, but she could work on it later. Her phone went off again and it was Cas. He was coming to see her. Her eyes lit up as she sent a text back.
[To: Cas]
[MSG: Closest cafe to the south college entrance.]

The brunette ran her fingers through her hair and sneezed. She was praying that she was just having allergy problems. The last thing she needs is to get sick again. She had just gotten better.

Image

Roman was completely and officially confused. He was sure that he did not know Leon, but he was saying things that could only be directed at a familiar. He didn't turn around to look at the fugitive again, but he was just letting what he has said so far float around in his head. "Screw you Roman Everest…" Everest? What was Everest? And why was it attached to his name. He was going to turn and ask, but the head council man showed up. Roman stood at attention, with his hands clasped behind his back. He spoke to the locked up angel. The apathetic look on his face might say he was emotionless, but the way he spoke seemed to resemble mockery. "Should I leave, sir?" Roman asked without making eye contact. The head council man looked at the new head angel and shook his head. "No. I need to you make sure Leon doesn't get away. And I need information about his fugitive counterpart, Cordelia." Cordelia? Leon must know who she is.

Castiel immediately checked his phone after hearing it buzz and read the text. College campus, that's where she was. He put his phone in his pocket, remembering where the campus was, and headed straight for his Abigail. He decided to take a stroll through the campus, get a lot at what human college students were like and what they liked to do. He was used to getting stares from men and women alike, but somehow, now it felt different. He didn't care for the looks and smiles he was receiving, there was only one smile he wanted to see. He walked past a small garden on his way to Abigail and picked up a small rose, making sure to break off all the thorns. Finally he reached the cafe, immediately spotting her surrounded by books. He gently placed the rose in front of her hands without a single word, waiting for her usually adorable reaction.

Image

Leon scowled at the man on the other side of the bars. He refused to talk, to even give him the satisfaction of seeing him broken. He wore his usual mask just as he had been doing for the last few centuries. The man's unamused expression didn't change either. "I am dissapointment in you boy" He spoke as if Leon would feel guilty of bad for dissapointing him. At this point he could care less who he let down. "Did you think you could get away with it?" the man scolded and Leon tilted his head. "You talk as if I have committed a crime" he replied just as coldly and the man sighed. "What you did was worse than a crime. It's disgusting". His words hurt Leon more than he would have liked to admit but he refused to show it. "Did you seriously think you could sleep around with men and think we wouldn't find out? You both deserve much worse.". Leon's blood began to boil and suddenly he had lost all his composure. "Go to hell" Leon muttered, loud enough for both the man and Roman to hear. The head council man showed no reaction, aside from turning to Roman and ordering him to handcuff Leon.

Abigail let out another light sneeze and groaned. Now she was going to have to pick up some kind of allergy medication before she went home. She should also go grocery shopping since her brother clearly cannot. But right now she had another psychology chapter to read. She needed to know more about Sleep. It was pretty interesting so she would get through this chapter pretty quickly. But the nausea was distracting her. Pushing through, she managed to get to the part about REM. There was a red splotch blocking her vision. When she focused in on it, she recognized it as a rose. Then her first thought went to Cas. Abby turned around and smiled softly at him as she took the rose in hand. "Thank you" She smelled the flower and then adverted her eyes back to Cas. "How have you been?"

Image

Roman was trying not to listen in on the conversation, but it was hard not too. He was interested to know why Leon was even being arrested. Apparently it was for committing homosexual acts. It didn't matter to the head angel what Leon was doing on the mainland. He was still doing his job, but if the council men arrest those like Leon then Roman would not question it. The fugitive was not very happy. Not that the head council man cared. He handed the head angel hand cuffs before walking away. Roman stood there for a moment wondering why Leon even needed handcuffs. Once the leader was out of sight, he opened Leon's cage. "Hands please." He gently took the man's hands cuffed them behind his back. For a moment he just looked over the fugitive with some guilt, but then he stood up and left the cell. He locked it back up and had his back to the bars.

Cas smiled and nodded at her as a reply to her thank you. He walked over and took a seat in the small table across from her and smiles softly. "I'm great now" he said with a soft smile. He looked over her books and her notes, briefly looking over what she was reading. Psychology. Humans really are interesting. "What about you?" he said gently taking her hands in his, interrupting her studying for a brief moment. He gave her a look, examining the color of her skin and eyes. She looked healthy, despite the council's dissaproval of her being cured. He looked her in the eyes, stopping for a moment just to look at her. "Have you been feeling sick at all, or are you completely better?".

Leon scoffed at the man as he left and watched as Roman walked up behind him and handcuffed him, leaving after to lock him in once again. Leon glared at the man's back, the pressure inside his chest growing the more he looked at him. He felt a few tears roll down his cheeks but quickly blinked them away. He struggled to get to his feet and began pacing, staring at the ground. "You still have emotions don't you" he muttered as he continued to pace. He wasn't sure where he was going with this, but if he didn't speak he would lose his mind. "Then tell me honestly" he muttered as he walked up to the bars. "Do you think this is justice?". A strong sense of justice had always been the moral of the council. They made sure to drill it into their subordinates' heads, but how was this just?

Abigail closed the text book as Casteel sat across from her. He had to be the greatest distraction. If he could come and interrupt her from her studies from now on, it would be great. She needed a break anyways. The words were starting to get jumbled up in her head and she was rereading the same line over and over. As she placed the rose down on the table, Cas took her hands in his. Her cheeks were coated with a light shade of pink. "I-I'm great as well.." Abigail had to break eye contact for a moment. He was causing her to stutter once again and she needed a moment to collect herself. Stuttering like a babbling fool was not attractive. And if she wanted Cas to be her boyfriend, she needed to control herself. Did Cas even want to be her boyfriend? He handed her a rose and he was very flirty, but he must be doing this with other girls. He was to perfect to just want Abby. The scholar looked back up and met Cas' eyes. They were such a enticing blue. She was lost in them and she only snapped out of it when he asked her a question. Her cheek turned even redder when she realized that she was just starting in his eyes. She was about to answer, but she sneezed. Nothing was going her way. "I started sneezing again, but I think it's allergies."

"You still have emotions don't you" Roman thought that was a silly question. Only the Gods didn't contain emotions. Roman was just about human when it came to emotions. The head angel just knew how to control them. Being able to know when to use them and when not to use them kept him out of trouble. Especially when the council members are around. It's best to pretend as if he didn't have emotions. Like he is a robot. Ready to do whatever they ask when they ask. But he nodded. Roman shouldn't be engaged with the fugitive, but their was no harm to answering questions. "Do you think this is justice?" The new head angel looked down at the ground. The council was by the book. Homosexuality was wrong. But Leon hasn't done anything to harm the Gods. This was only his first offense. And his offense wasn't on the sacred grounds of Eden. Jail time wasn't just. A warning or demotion might have been better. Roman looked back up. "No I don't." He turned to face the broken fugitive. "But it isn't my job to judge what is just and what isn't just." Roman wasn't going to let Leon get him in trouble. He looked down for a moment and then back up. "Who is Cordelia? And where is she?" The council man wanted to know her whereabouts so Leon must know something. But Roman first must know who she is.
