Jaysin O. Dennis

"You can't just have one of me. You have to have all of me."

0 · 416 views · located in Arcana Academy, California

a character in “The Arcana Academy”, as played by alxxxjames

Full Name: Jaysin Osiris Dennis
Nicknames: Everyone calls me Jay, so don't try to be different.
Age: I am nineteen years old. And yes, I am very much legal to do who-- I mean.. Whatever I want.
Birthdate: January 27th
Home Town: Born and raised in L.A.
Sexuality: I'm very, very straight. Don't even question it.

School: I attended Noctrem for a few years then my parents forced me to transfer to Arcana to hopefully change my attitude. I'm thinking it just made it a lot fucking worse.
Power: Cloning is by definition the ability to produce a copy of; imitate closely. My power allows me to clone myself multiple times with no hesitation. I've gotten all the way up to ten people before I got the biggest fucking headache in the world, so let's just say my limit is ten. I have plenty of people ask me what I can do with my ability, and I put it very simple. For girls, I can simply be have a clone hold your hands down while I fu-- tickle you. For guys, I can just beat the shit out of you. Don't try to be all big and bad because I very much doubt you can fuck with my clones. I stay in shape for a reason, and it's to be able to stay at the top no matter what.
Likes: I don't like many things in life to be completely honest. I fucking hate most people, so there is no way I can say I like anybody because I enjoy making people's life a fucking hell. I admit. I bully because I can bully. "Talk shit, get hit." It's the motto I live by. If I'm having to fucking name five things, I'll make it quick and simple. One, the occasional cigarette. Unlike everybody else that smokes for fun, I smoke because it keeps my nerves steady so I don't hit every stupid person that tries to talk to me. Two, being outside away from people. Being in a classroom with the students at Arcana is such a fucking hell. Three, music. It gives me an excuse to have my earphones in, so I can ignore most students at school. I don't listen to music often, but I list it because I'm having to list five. Four, teasing. Like the word, I enjoy teasing the fuck out of girls. I can tell the ones that plan on saving their virginities until the end of time, so I do throw some unexpected remarks their way. Finally five, alcohol. I drink as frequent as I can. It loosens up the tight ass' on campus, so seeing a different side of people makes me believe there is actually a chance in the world for them.
Dislikes: This will be so much easier than the other one because I can't fucking stand half the people at Arcana thinking they are so fucking innocent because they go to the better school. It's funny when I can actually hold an argument due to me having attended Noctrem only years before. I don't like caffeine. I take care of my body, so I stay away from the little things. I know that's very contradicting with the smoking and drinking, but I do stay in shape working off the occasional smoke and frequent drinking. I hate people who seems to think they know everything. I know that one kid knows fucking everything, but that's his power. He's supposed to. I feel like I should bring him around with me to call the bullshit of other's out. Hmm, maybe likes were easier at this point when I don't give two-fucks about this shit. Let's see. I hate being hot. I like winter and keeping the temperature as low as possible. Also, I can't stand authority figures trying to sculpt me into the person [i[they want me to be. I will be my own person, thank you!
Fears: I don't know why I have this fear, but I fear drowning. I was young when the incident happened, but I got trapped under a pool ladder.. All I remember is the feeling as water enter my nose and the burning. I woke the my dad beating my chest, so yeah. Don't fucking say shit about it because at least I have a fucking reason.

Personality: I'm a very open individual about how I feel. Stop with the bullshit excuses you give your parents because I'm not one to fall for the layers of shit people seem to feed me at times. I don't want to get to know you if you are going to lie your way to the top. Actually, I don't want to get to know you either way, but I have to seem nice to an extent. How will I ever get fucked if I don't draw them in somehow. I think I am better than other's because I treat myself with care. I take my power seriously, and you dumb ass students that think it's cool to walk around thinking your hot shit make me laugh. I could probably beat the shit out of every one of you within a second without a clone.

I do not claim to be a god, but I am confident in myself. I take the friendships and relationship in my life seriously, so please don't try to fuck with anybody I hold close. And yes, that was a threat. There are too many assholes in the world for me to be added to the bunch, so I try a lot of the time to keep a steady voice when somebody tries to step my way. Who am I kidding? I am an asshole. I admit most of the time that voice turns into my fist connecting with someone's face. I really don't fucking care if you think I'm arrogant because I know I'm not. I try to keep swear words to a minimum, but when you speak nonsense to me I get a little agitated.

I am a flirt, but when in a relationship I respect that girl with not a glance at another. I respect women even though my attitude can seem like I don't give a shit about either sex. My relationships in the past have always been kept between me and that person because I don't really fucking care about the whole academy finding out who I've been seeing and what our relationship has been like. I admit that at times I can be rude towards a girl that puts herself in the position to be called a slut or whore. I do not feel that women that put their bodies out there should be respected or even lusted after. The girl I look for has a present to her that makes most envy her. And yes, that's why most of my relationships are in the past because half the girls at Arcana don't understand how to stand up for themselves.

I feel like my personality has been a fail. Well fuck. I guess I could hit a few high notes and add some shit in. Let's see. I don't put up with bullshit. I will defend my friends/relationships no matter what. I do not question myself. I follow my gut instinct. I am a flirt. I respect the girl in my life when there is one. I also respect women in general. Sluts/whores are questionable when it comes to respect. I am not arrogant. I am confident. I am very open. I can shut people out at times though. I take care of myself. I enjoy intelligent conversations. I am not shy. I give everyone a chance; not. I have the ability to judge people quickly. I am an asshole. Get the fuck over it. I hope that little bit above helped because I feel like I typed a fucking shit load for nothing. Oh, I should add that. I have the habit of talking for no reason. I irritate myself, holy fuck.

History: I don't want too much detail, but we need information on your childhood, how you first found out about your power, how you decided whether to be good or bad, and then how you came to the school. So, three good sized paragraphs, I think?

Such bullshit to have to tell about stuff that is in the past because honestly it's there for a reason. My father was the president of some bank in New York, where he met his first wife. He soon moved to L.A., leaving her in New York until he could find the right home for her two kids from a previous marriage. While in L.A., he fucked my mother and ended up divorcing the first wife with the kids. My mom obviously got pregnant and had me at the beginning of the next year. I didn't realize then the piece of shit my father was, but who isn't these days. My parents divorced because he ended sleeping with the maid or some shit. I don't honestly know or care for that matter because it didn't take too long for my mother to start whoring around herself.

I moved in with my father because I agreed with some of his rules of how he picks the women he sleeps with rather than my mother sticking any dick in her. I soon grew into a part of my life where I didn't want anybody but myself around. That's when the clones starting popping up. My father had been an Arcana alumni, but obviously that did him no good. He ended up sending me to Noctrem because he thought the different atmosphere would help. Of course it didn't change a thing. My dad's a fucking retard for heaven's sake. My mom ended up coming back into the dad's life as an easy fuck. She ended up talking him into making me go to his alumni. I had actually ended up making some decent friends. The stupid bitch just couldn't keep her mouth shut.

This was the point where I decided that I needed to make my own damn decisions, but that didn't help because I was still forced to attend the school I hated before I even stepped on campus. Now that the two schools have combined, I've picked up my old friends again. I hope that's enough informations because I honestly have nothing else to fucking say. Like my history? Hope not.

Anything else? I am very big on working out and staying in shape.

So begins...

Cor Quellen

Cor had woken up with a minor headache. Just a tiny one. After yesterday she’d needed alcohol and she might have stolen some of Drake’s – the good stuff, of course. And so… now she was being punished. Served her right, she supposed. Things were just… one big mess. Right now she was on the bus with the others, dressed in this. After her shower at the motel she’d grabbed a shower before Drake had even woken from his slumber; she’d been sharing a room with him. Not because they couldn’t have had separate rooms, but because after the fire, Cor had sort of needed to be around someone with a level head, and who was more levelheaded than Drake in emotional situations? After getting ready, for once straightening her hair and all, Cor had grabbed her two suitcases and gone to fetch Erin. Together they’d gone to the bus waiting for them as every other morning. Except this one was bigger. Big enough to fit all of their baggage. Right now it was 7:30 AM and she was half asleep with her head on Erin’s shoulder. Her best friend was of course seated beside her and Cor wouldn’t have it any other way. Well… maybe except… if, you know… Jay could… oh no, no no no. No thinking about Jay. Off limits.

The young blonde’s eyes snapped open the second the bus stopped and it was announced over the speakers that they had arrived. She got up, rolling her shoulder before she took Erin’s hand. “C’mon, Blondie.” She said, “we need to go have lots of fun in our amazing new home.” She laced her tone with feigned eagerness, overdoing it so much that even people who didn’t know her would recognize it as deliberately fake. Honestly she wasn’t really pleased in the least, but she didn’t want to go back to Harrogate either. So there was that. Besides, all of her friends were here, and she supposed Jay’s presence at Arcana made things bearable. Somewhat. She didn’t let go of Erin’s hand until the girl was out of her seat and then Cor walked out of the bus, taking her luggage from the driver who was in the process of getting all of their belongings out of the bus for them. She waited for Erin to get hers before she moved again, this time heading for the Academy. A place she’d been many times over the last month; a place where she’d more or less had to deal with a lot of shit she hadn’t had to before. Punishment for instance. Cain always let her get away with most of her shit. Marinos didn’t. Or… at least he didn’t used to, until she’d caught him and Roerig in a preeetty compromising situation about a week ago. Now she had free reign for 4 months. Not bad.

She didn’t really pay much attention to the other students. She didn’t care much. She was more focused on who she’d have to live with. She had no idea, but she couldn’t imagine Marinos pairing her up with any of his precious little angel babies, for instance. So they were probably rooming with someone from their own schools. It didn’t make sense not to do it like that. Cor entered the reception are, glancing at Erin. “Something tells me we’re going to regret this in the end, you know.” She shook her head and looked around her. She knew there would be a list hanging here somewhere with rooms and room-numbers and all that bullshit. Ah, there it was, off to the side. Both her suitcases rolled behind her as she made her way over, looking over the list. Her eyes widened slowly. “Uh… Erin, I think you need to see this,” she said, indicating the list. “They’ve mixed us. What kind of bullshit it that? I swear, sometimes they’re just too fucking stupid.” She wasn’t angry, or annoyed, because she’d been lucky enough with L. She was alright with rooming with L. Better than most others. Then she frowned. “Loralei?” She repeated off of the list, shooting Erin a look. “You’re rooming with gypsy girl? Fuck.” Her expression went from pity of her best friend to amusement when she spotted two other names. “Oh, you’ve got to be kidding me,” she said, already laughing. “Jay and Sky? That’s just a disaster waiting to happen.” And it really was. Jay had already said that he wanted to beat up every guy she’d ever slept with, and she knew Sky hated Jay in turn. That room was going to be a war-zone.

Miss Amy Roerig – School Nurse and Psychology&Ethics Teacher

The dream was beautiful; beautiful and peaceful. Just… Leo and her alone in the most beautiful meadow filled with violet flowers, the sun setting in the horizon. She couldn’t remember what they were doing there or how they’d ended up in this place. Only the happiness and tranquility of that perfect moment, until the tress on the far side began moving, becoming students and fellow teachers, walking towards them. That’s when Leo let go and pushed her away, immediately resuming his professional eyes. The ones that didn’t belong to her Leo. Eyes that shut everyone safe for a select few, out of his heart. That’s when he said her name, his soft, masculine voice emanating, but it felt weird… like it didn’t belong in a dream, then her eyes fluttered open at the contact of his lips, the soft static and the touch jolting her awake. She smiled sleepily against his lips as he whispered. She was glad he’d woken her up before her dream turned into even more of a nightmare.

She kissed him softly once more before letting his lips move away even just a little, “mmmmorning” she murmured, stretching with a soft purr before smiling more properly as the memories of their night together resurfaced and then turned around to make him lay on his back, leaning over him. She let her hands rest on his chest as she raised herself a little, not caring one bit that she was completely naked. Then, as she looked him over, she tsk’ed and shook her head, “you haven’t slept all night, have you?” She hadn’t slept much herself. Honestly she’d only had maybe two or three hours of sleep at this point, if she was lucky. They’d had sex for the first time. Not first time in the virginal sense, but she’d been holding back since that night where Cor had found them; her lying on her desk, Leo’s head and fingers between her legs. That had just been… very unfortunate, to say the least. And extremely embarrassing. She’d also just been a little insecure. How could anyone measure up in the bedroom toa guy who had been having sex for the last odd 2500 years? He hadn’t seemed unsatisfied, though, so she was feeling quite relieved.

Amy leaned down to kiss Leo’s perfect lips before smiling softly and a tad thoughtfully at him, then biting down on her lip as the smile disappeared, her dream coming back to her and she sighed, unsure of how Leo was going to react now. They hadn’t really talked about their relationship’s status as such, but after the dream, Amy was feeling even more certain that they needed to let the cat out of the bag as such. She knew he didn’t want to, but she didn’t want to be stuck in a secret relationship for whoever knew how long. “Baby?” She began, kissing his jaw softly before looking up at him again, her violet eyes worried; worried about his reaction and how this was going to go down. She was ready to take an argument if that was what they needed, “when are we going to tell people? I mean… we can’t keep this a secret forever… right? And… people are going to find out anyway. It’s just a matter of time.”

#, as written by throne

Noctrem’s former headmaster was about as keen on early mornings as most of his students. Less so, perhaps. If he hadn’t been billeting himself at the same motel as the kids, there wouldn’t have been a shot in Hell of him getting aboard the coach bus he’d hired to transport them to Arcana. He’d probably have still been in his apartment, asleep, if that were the case. He would have liked to have slept through the entire day, if he could have. Maybe the entire year. Maybe the rest of his life. Cain, he reminded himself, We’ve been over this. What you’re describing is basically suicide.

He had been in rare form for the days leading up to the move. Yes, on a rational, adult level he understood that this was a good thing. That in the most technical sense, Leo was doing him a solid allowing his misfits and miscreants to take up semi-permanent (Oh Gods he hoped it was only semi-permanent) residence at his ostentatious school. Until Noctrem was rebuilt, it was a much better option than any of the others that they’d manage to come up with, even if it was slowly withering his soul away. He hated the idea of owing Leonardo Marinos anything other than a beatdown that was hundreds of years behind schedule. He was repulsed by not having utter control over the school, never mind his classroom.

He’d taken the front, rightmost seat of the bus. A pair of dark aviators hid his bloodshot eyes from the students as they clambered aboard, and he was sipping often from a metallic thermos of… let’s call it coffee. It was at least half coffee, so, that would work. His cheeks were lined with salt-and-pepper stubble, and his hair was getting long. Too long. He needed to get it cut, he noted, as he ran a hand through it. When the bus finally rolled to a stop in front of Arcana, he rose solemnly and turned to address his students.

The pause that he waited was significant enough that they might have been expecting some sort of big speech, if they weren’t all aware of his undying hatred for big speeches. Instead, he took a gulp from his “coffee” and, with his sunglasses still in place, nodded. ”Give ‘em Hell, kids. It’s your school now too.” He swung around and slunk off the bus, lighting a cigarette the instant he crossed the threshold. Many of the students would be able to get ahead of him, since he was walking slowly and chainsmoking. He left a breadcrumb trail of three crumpled cigarette butts to lead the slower ones to the entrance doors, having used the first to light the second and the second to light the third. Reeking of smoke, he made his way in, not bothering to remove his sunglasses once he was inside.

He saw a few kids already gathered around the list and ambled up himself, perverse curiosity drawing him to see what sort of arrangements Leo’s lackwits had made. When he laid eyes on it, he did finally remove his glasses, just to make sure he was seeing what he thought he was seeing. He let out a bark of laughter. ”Oh, this is fucking priceless.” His morning grumpiness and general surliness had been replaced by a Christmas morning grin. He dragged out his phone, stabbing his finger at the screen and starting a text message, only using one hand (which isn’t to say he was good at it- nope, it was laughably clumsy). He then used the option to attach a picture that Jade had shown him just after showing him how to download stupid games, and took several seconds to snap a photo that had the list legibly in frame. He hit send.

A second or so later, Leonardo Marinos would receive the following text message:

u r such a tool.
<Insert Picture of List Here>

Looking extremely self-satisfied, Cain stowed his phone, laughing again in his harsh, guttural way. He took another long gulp of his spiked coffee, not to give him strength this time, but in celebration. This, he decided, might actually be interesting. Give ‘em Hell indeed. Smirking, he sauntered off to find some breakfast.

”Wouldn’t it be like… totally awesome if we end up roommates? I mean, like, how cool would that be, haha?”

Colby grinned toothily over at Landon as they made their way down the hallway. The speedster brimmed over with excitement even on the most everyday sort of day, but this was something special. Something big. Nothing so big had happened since the Noctrem kids showed up in the first place after their school burned down. He’d always been an early riser (at least, if he hadn’t partied the night before), and was already bright-eyed and alert, ready to carpe the diem.

He’d turned up at his best buddies room as planned, dressed in a pair of clean jeans and a pristine white polo shirt, and simply let himself in. Modesty was fairly pointless between the two of them, so he’d dragged the covers off of Landon and chattered away a mile a minute while the other boy got ready. He’d speculated wildly about who they might have wound up rooming with. As far as they knew, Arcana students would be boarding together, and so he’d been crossing his fingers in hopes of landing Landon as his roomie. Easier quickies aside, he couldn’t imagine anyone else at the school he would rather have shared space with. They got along so well that there wouldn’t be any problems.

”I guess Izzy wouldn’t be so bad either,” he proclaimed with a wicked grin. Colby also harbored a secret, stupid little hope that, somehow, a clerical error or shortage of beds would result in him sharing a room with their headmaster. He’d related as much to Landon, in his room, and easily dodged the pillow that his friend had chucked at his face. ”I’d totally dig rooming with Izzy. Haha, Izzy is so cute.” Colby’s thoughts often tended to emerge from his mouth in a rapid stream-of-consciousness.

”I just hope it isn’t Jaysin. He’d probably like, pin me down and strangle me in my sleep.” Judging by the way Colby’s eyes glazed over, he was very likely imagining a few of Jaysin pinning him down and doing something else entirely. He shook his head, so quickly that it seemed a flesh-and-hair colored blur, then delved into his pocket for one of his high-protein breakfast bars. He usually put down about three of them every morning in addition to breakfast in order to keep his infernally fast metabolism sated. On his lazy days he ended up burning through 10,000 calories; most days, it was more in the vicinity of 15,000.

He bit into the bar, still walking along with Landon, who was no doubt fighting to get a word in edgewise, like always. Colby eyed Cain Montgomery suspiciously as the man headed past them, chewing his energy bar laboriously. When they were about thirty feet away, though, with Noctrem students flocking around the announcement, he grinned a chocolate stained smile at Landon and then… vanished. It seemed that way at least. If it weren’t for the gust that kicked up behind him, he might as well have. He was only gone for about two seconds. He blurred into the midst of the Noctrem kids, scanned the list until he found his name, frowned, took another bite of his breakfast bar, and then blurred back over to Landon to resume their walk at a more normal pace.

”Who the fuck is Drakethrean?” He asked, his brow knit up in not-at-all unfamiliar confusion. ”Did we get a new kid? I wonder if he’s hot, haha.” How the Hell was he supposed to remember a weird-ass name like that? He’d practically already forgotten it. He’d also forgotten, in typical self-absorbed fashion, to see who Landon was rooming with. Of course, he knew who Drake was. If the stupid paper had just said that, he would only have been confused by the fact that he was from Noctrem. Not recognizing his full name only compounded his lack of comprehension.

As he and Landon closed in on the group of students, he began looking for Sky. He finished unwrapping his energy bar and then ate it at super-speed, chewing and swallowing so quickly that the thing basically disappeared. He ran his tongue along his teeth in similar fashion to clean them off, then turned a bright smile on Landon. ”I’m not all like, chocolate mouth, right?” He glanced away, seeking out his best friend from Noctrem once more. His hair was very recognizable; the best hair in the school, really, so Colby looked for that. Colby had been jealous of Sky’s hair since day one. Even the most rigorous styling products didn’t hold up to moving at just shy of 400 M.P.H., so Colby was forced to wear his own hair short. Such a drag.

Sky Byrnes

'Get away from me. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it.' The words swirled around in Sky's head as Tom approached him, but the words stuck in the back of his throat and would come out of his mouth. Tears ran down his cheeks as his stepfather grabbed him by his hair and threw him against a wall. He tried to scream for his mother, but everything was silent. His heart pounded in his chest as he tried to crawl away from the grown man.

"Leave me alone." He managed to beg, before recieving a kick in his ribs from Tom. "Shut up, you little fucker." Sky groaned as he rolled over on his back, looking up at man above him. "Please stop. I'll be good, I swear. I won't tell my mom. Just please, Tom, stop it." Tom just shook his head and smirked. "You don't have the balls to tell your mom." He undid his belt and threw it across the room, before getting on top of Sky and pinning his arms to the ground. "Your just a little bitch. Now shut up and stay still." Sky closed his eyes as more and more tears streamed down from them, waiting for what was to come.

Sky woke with a jump, looking around the motel room to assure him that he was back in reality. His breathing was heavy and there was sweat on his brow. Damn. His nightmares had been getting worse lately. His flashbacks too. He grunted as he looked as his alarm clock. Just a few minutes until he would have had to wake up. Whatever. He got out of the motel bed and went to the bathroom to begin his journey to perfection. After showering for twenty minutes, brushing his teeth for fifteen, and shaving/applying moisturizer/gazing at himself in the mirror for ten, he was almost ready. Now, he just had to make sure his pride and joy was ready to amaze the world.

His hands worked like machines, spreading various gels and mousses through it, and sculpting it like a fine statue. "Perfecto!" He exclaimed before spraying it with his favorite hairspray, some strange brand from Spain that his Tia Jenny got for him. He walked to a chair next to the bed, on which he set down his decided outfit the previous night. He quickly dressed, but decided to throw his beanie into his bag. He was not going to ruin his hair after all the work he just put into it. And it was time for the finishing touch. He grabbed his two diamond studs and placed them in his ears. Sky turned around and checked himself out in the mirror. "How you doing, Sexual?"

Sky grabbed all his bags and he was just going to walk out the door when "Oh shit!" He dropped his bags and raced back to the bed, sliding a large box from underneath it. "Almost forgot you." He said with a sigh of relief. This was his sacred "Party Box". The things contained in this box could transform any gathering of people into a banging party. It was heavy, but Sky could manage as he grabbed his luggage again and made his way to the bus.

He slept the way to Arcana, with his head against the window and his earbuds blaring music into his ears. Sky woke up and walked off the bus, grabbing his lucky lighter and a pack of cigarettes from his pocket. He placed one in his mouth and lit it, looking around. He noticed several other people were smoking as well, including Cain and Addi. He put the pack and the lighter back into his pockets before getting his luggage and the Party Box. The cigarette hung from his lips as he followed everyone to the list of roommates, but he couldn't hear anything because of his earphones. He set the Box down before moving through the crowd, trying to get a peep at the list. He saw Cor's amused face as she looked at the list and Sky decided to take his earbuds out, catching the end of her sentence.
"-and Sky? That’s just a disaster waiting to happen.” Sky raised an eyebrow. "Who am I rooming with?" He uttered, his cigarette still between his lips. He puffed some smoke out of the side of his mouth as he ran eyes over the list. He noticed immediately that the rooms were mixed between the Arcana and Noctrem students. He really hoped that he got roomed with Colby, but if he did, they would be very...distracted most of the time. Let's just say they wouldn't spend much time doing homework.

That's when Sky saw it. The lit end of his cigarette grew brighter and brighter, practically setting it on fire and quickly burning it down until it was nothing but a stub. He spit it out and wasted no time before saying how he felt. "Are you fucking kidding me? I'm in a fucking room with fucking Jay?" He was livid as a flurry of fast and angry Spanglish left his lips. "I can't believe they put me with that pinche cabron. Fucking pendejo. Hijo de puta." Sky muttered some other words under his breath, still obviously switching between English and Spanish as he ranted to himself. Out of all the people at Arcana, he got stuck with one of the very few people he didn't like. In fact, he disliked Jay. Maybe he even hated him a little bit. "Whatever." He said, finally coming down from his anger high.

He started to walk away from the list when he saw someone by the list for a split second. Did Arcana have a teleporter? Sky didn't think so and he spent a moment puzzled until a grin came to his face. Colby. The pyro looked around for the speedster, grabbing his bags and the Party Box. What couldn't he have gotten a room with Colbs?

(Will post for Amber and Eden soon. ^-^)

Freya Mason

Freya tapped her foot in a bored manner as she watched the conveyer belt travelling round in a repetitive motion; arms folded against her chest, the blonde drummed her nails against her arm as her patience began to wither away. She had been stood in the same position for nearly half an hour watching as people came and went with their luggage, until finally her three large red suitcases came into view “Finally!” she exclaimed, moving forward to retrieve her luggage. Once the cases were securely on the trolley, she finally made her way through customs and then out of the bustling airport and towards the taxi rank, seeing the long queue Freya rolled her eyes, there was not a chance in hell she was going to wait. Walking to the front of the line she ignored the shouts from other people and stopped at the man at the front “Hello, mind if I take this one?” she asked with a smile.

“I don’t think so sweetheart” he replied with a chuckle.

Freya forced a smile “huh” she mumbled before placing her hand over his, smirking as his dark eyes immediately became soft “let’s try this again, can I take this cab?” she asked again.

The man immediately nodded “yeah, yeah of course you can” he said eagerly, opening the door for her like a true gentleman, causing her smirk to deepen “I can put your bag in” he added.

“Thanks love” she replied curtly before ducking into the back of the cab as the stranger, pilled her bags into the back of the car. As the boot closed the cab drove off “Where to?” the older man asked, looking back at her through the rear-view mirror. “Noc…No, Arcana Academy” she corrected herself. The drive from the airport was a rather long and tedious one, full of stopping and starting as they drove through the city, her thoughts were directed towards her old school of Noctrem and probably more importantly the fire, which had destroyed the school and killed two people, the story was that it was a reckless and random act of arson but she wasn’t sure how true that was. Freya had yet to see the damage of her old school, having been back in England at the time but people had informed her that there was very little left and she was just thankful she had taken the majority of her belongings with her back to New York and so all she lost were a few posters, a couple of DVD’s and a few items of clothing, although other people lost a lot more.

“We’re here” the cabbie spoke rousing Freya from her thoughts, turning her head towards her new school, blue eyes raked over the school, well it certainly was cheerier than Noctrem, the walls were lighter and the pink blossom trees gave it a time-gone-by look, it was nice.

After paying the driver, he helped her with her bags before driving away; she smiled at a few people in a passing, making her way into the corridor and saw people huddled around a piece of paper stuck to the wall, she figured that was the rooming list “excuse me” she said politely, pushing her way through the crowd, running her finger down the list until she came to her name…

Room Seventeen: Ashleigh Fox and Freya Mason

Shrugging, the blonde was quite content with that pairing, they got on well enough, although she hated the idea of taming down her drinking and sex around the girl, they’d definitely have to sort out a scrunchy system or something. Walking back to her cases, she could have sworn she caught a glimpse of Scott, maybe it was just wishful thinking but she pulled out her phone regardless and sent him a quick message.

Did you just ignore me Mr Andrews? ;) I’m in room 17, come find me! I’ve missed you!
-Frey xo

And then her thoughts turned to another of her good friends Jaysin, who had moved to the dark side, or rather light side a while ago and she had to admit she missed him terribly, sure they'd see each other at weekends but it wasn't the same not being able to run up to him on a daily basis and jump on his back whenever she saw him, letting out a small chuckled she scrolled down to his name and sent him a text.

Hey there traitor ;) Meet you later, I missed you and I have presents for you and Killan!

-Frey xo

Smiling she dropped her phone back into her bag and gathered her suitcases, she was about to walk off when she noticed her roommate, walking over to her a smile graced her pretty face “Hey Ash, it’s good to see you again” she greeted kindly, trying to make a good impression, after all it would be pretty shit if they didn’t get along.

Cor Quellen

When Erin made a comment about the rooms being mixed, Cor smiled wryly, “damn right it does,” she noted, shaking her head. She raised an eyebrow when Erin merely shrugged at rooming with Lora. “Fuck that,” she said, rolling her eyes, “she’s a little Marinos-puppet and you know it.” In truth, maybe she hated Lora primarily because she’d spotted Jay’s clone practically following her around at times, and she didn’t like how his attention was wandering so much. It wasn’t just gypsy girl, it was others too. Even Addie, Jade and Bells. Her friends. And she’d damn well noted some looks back. It bothered her more than anything, but as long as it was no more than looking, she could deal. Sort of. What she couldn’t take, was his relationship with Freya. Friends? Fine. Kissing? Not so fine, and then he had the nerve to ask her to fucking trust him. She hadn’t had a chance to talk it over with him much yesterday, because he’d distracted her with sex… a lot. She’d skipped English as usual and met up with Jay, but this time it had been more than a quick fuck somewhere.

This time she’d finally been in his room. He’d told her how much he loved her, how much he wanted her. Told her she was the only one he wanted an he’d made love to her in a bed for the first time in over two years. Then they’d left the grounds for lunch and, well… the day had passed with just the two of them, wrapped up in each other. He still wanted her to drop her fuck-buddies, but she wasn’t giving him anything serious until she knew she could trust him. Back at Arcana, Jay had only had eyes for her. He’d never even looking at others with want like he did now. Now, however, he was still with his girlfriend while fucking Cor and flirting with others. ”What can I do to prove that you can trust me, Cor?” he’d asked as she was on his lap yesterday, but she hadn’t answered him. Today she was cursing herself, thinking she should have told him to prove that he could be with her alone. No sideways glances. She knew he wasn’t the Jay she’d dated, but she hated that this particular side of him had changed because she still loved him.

She shook out of her metaphorically Jay-induced coma when she saw who he was rooming with and made a comment. It was just too hilarious. Bells chose that moment to stop by and Cor grinned at her, “oh, you know… rooms.” She said in reply to her friend’s words. Then turned to look at Erin again. Her comments made Cor laugh and she shook her head, “sure, and then the moon fell from the sky and they lived happily ever after,” she finished the ‘story’ her friend was weaving. She smiled wryly shaking her head when Erin apologized. “Oh, fuck this. They’re going to kill each other.” That when Sky’s comment reached and she whirled around with a mischievous smile on her lips. “Have a look,” she told him, still laughing, and she only laughed harder at his reaction, Spanish mixing with his words. “Oh, baby, it’s not that bad. Erin was just telling me how you two might bond over this.” At the comment, she only laughed harder. Sky added a “whatever” and walked away. She called out, “don’t forget to give him a big hug, love!” She smirked.

Then Leo’s voice rang out over speakers, and Cor rolled her eyes. As if you’re going to do anything if I don’t show, you fucking pussy, she thought to herself, smirking visibly. Pussy, oh, wasn’t that ironic. She blinked a couple of times when Erin spoke, then shrugged, grinning. “You know, I think we need a guide. I don’t want to carry these suitcases around all day, and I don’t suppose Kei’s up as he’s not getting a roommate, sooo… walk with me? I’ll just bet you Jay the Jerk isn’t up yet either, but he’s going to be. On that note, I have a shitload of info for you.” She said as she began walking, knowing that Erin would tag along. “Remember how I texted you that I wasn’t riding the bus with you guys? And I wasn’t home until 8:30 pm and all? Well, I was with him.” She couldn’t keep the happiness out of her voice. Jay made her heart beat faster. He was the only guy who had and would ever have power over her.

Cor headed for the second floor, riding the elevator with Erin, “it was a fucking weird day, if you ask me,” she said, shaking her head at the memories, “mostly because it wasn’t just sex.” She glanced at her friend, smiling wryly, “yeah, I know… it’s pretty crazy.” She laughed a little. She and Jay had been strictly “fuck and leave” until yesterday, and she hadn’t had a chance to be alone with Erin really until now so she hadn’t relayed any of the new information. “He’s such a fucking asshole, and I don’t trust him for shit… but he’s still got me.” She turned her eyes skyward. “And I have no clue in hell how I feel about it.” With that, the ping of the elevator signaled that they could exit on the second floor, so Cor hurried out, looking around her. These halls would be swarming with people in a little bit and she didn’t want to risk anyone hearing her talk about having feelings for a guy. Jay was a weakness.

Soon, they reached the door Cor knew belonged to Jay (at least she’d found that out yesterday), and she knocked, pondering if she should just barge in there, but she didn’t really want Erin possibly seeing Jay naked, which was so fucking ridiculous. “Baby?” She called merely, knowing he’d recognize her voice.

Drake Quellen

Drake turned his head when someone bumped into him, smiling when he noticed Lulu. However, the smile turned into a slight frown as she scurried off without a word in his direction. It was so weird. Ever since Noctrem had burned down, he and Lulu had been sliding further and further apart, like something was causing a distance now that they were no longer able to have their nightly talks. He missed them a little, honestly. He missed Lulu’s company when he couldn’t sleep in the night. The way she’d poke her head out and tell him to go back to his room with a glass of milk. Really, it had become more of a greeting than a wish on her part after a little while; after he’d refused enough times. Of course, he couldn’t just refuse either, so he’d begun asking her to join him, and she had. The evening ritual had gone on for whoever knew how long before Noctrem burned. Now he was more or less alone in the night. He didn’t much mind solitary, really, but he’d rather have her company than not.

Thinking about it, maybe she was avoiding him because of the girls; his sister mostly, probably. Cor was a force to be reckoned with; Drake knew that better than anyone, and if accompanied by her bitch squad, as he liked to call them – in his mind, she was even worse. Back-up was not something one should issue to psychopaths. Not much long after, he heard a ”shit” from behind and glanced over to see Kali. He grinned but she too was running off before he got a chance to say anything. He was starting to feel like he smelled or something, what with everyone fleeing his presence. Geez. Or maybe it was just sort of amusing. Okay, it was very amusing. Mostly because he knew why. How could he take it personally? Everyone knew he was great, and he was positive he’d used cologne this morning, anyway. He was drawn back into reality when Addie shook her head and he grinned. “Of course you are,” he said. “You’d be in there looking at roommates if you didn’t have to calm your nerves with a smoke.” He teased. Of course he couldn’t be sure, but he thought Addie might’ve misunderstood his question. Oh well.

When Addie commented on him smoking, Drake laughed. “My ‘mama’ practically tossed them at me. If I didn’t know better, I’d say she wanted me to die sooner.” Of course no one at the Academy actually knew how strained his relationship with his parents was, but he’d never felt the need to tell them either, so it wasn’t public knowledge. He knew Cor wasn’t going to tell people. Not because she respected his right to tell that stuff himself. Oh no, Cor just liked it better when people considered him more of a mystery. At least he thought that was why. What the hell did he know? His sister was a fucking mess. Image was one thing, among many, he’d never really cared about, as oppose to his blonde baby sis. His eyes took a round of the area he was in and spotted Erin looking at him and Addie, making a face. He chuckled, winking at her. It was completely ridiculous, really. She fucked him more often than most of the girls he had ‘intimate relations’ with, yet she didn’t think he was good enough for any of her friends. Good thing he wasn’t really interested in dating any of them. He just liked sex, and flirting. But most of all he liked the company of women. What was so wrong about that? He didn’t need to have sex with them to like talking to them, or just looking at them, really.

Drake let go of Addie when he felt her wiggling out of his embrace, shot her a wry smile in reply to her ‘goodbye’, and watched her ass as she walked inside. He wasn’t a pervert as such. He just recognized good craftsmanship, really, and her parents had done wonderfully, he had to admit. Kudos to them. Then he smiled to himself and picked up his big duffel bag, mulling over his options now. He could go check out the list of roommates, annoy his sister a little and maybe find something (or someone) interesting to do, but eh… he wasn’t much in the mood. He did want to lose the bag though, so he supposed he’d have to go inside sooner or later. His eyes ran over the people already there. Maybe he could locate Lulu and get her alone. He was sick of his sister scaring people off. Or maybe just sick of her scaring Lulu specifically away. Of course Lulu only had herself to blame for Cor’s open hostility towards her, but that didn’t mean they couldn’t hang out? Since when did Cor have anything to say about the people he associated with? In reality, he liked being around people she didn’t like, just to tic her off.

Then again, he didn’t want to get Lulu into more trouble. Very few people were as targeted by Cor as Lulu. Actually, he was fairly certain Lulu was the only girl hated by every single one of Cor’s bitches. That was a first, and he couldn’t help being a little impressed with her. Not a lot of girls had the guts to. He shook his head, scratching the back of his neck. Why did he even give a shit? That’s when he spotted Lora and noted that his sister and Erin had skipped off to wherever. Destination decided. Drake made his way inside, easily slipping through the crowd despite his size and his bag. He paused by the list of rooms and raised an eyebrow. Noctrem/Arcana rooming? His face lit into an amused, mischievous grin, his mood improving immediately. Well this changed the game entirely – and made it all the more entertaining. He chuckled to himself when he saw that he’d be living with Colby, but the laugh died down when he noticed they’d used his full name. Seriously? He was pretty sure he hadn’t told anyone at Arcana his full name. Ah, bugger. He hated his name. Shaking off the slight irritation, Drake moved through the next line of people and headed for Lora.

He made his way over just as Leo’s announcement rang out – which he more or less ignored – , and wrapped her in a tight hug, grinning down at her. “Did you grow taller since yesterday?” He teased her. It had become a joke since she’d grown so much since he’d last befriended her in Harrogate, a couple of months before his going to Noctrem, and since they’d started going to school at Arcana, they’d more or less re-established that friendship. With a fuck-load of attraction on top of it. For once, however, Drake was fighting his womanizing tendencies. Lora was one girl who was going to stay just a friend. He’d decided that much. No fucking this up. Excuse the pun.

* Amy will be added in a bit. =D

McKenna Marinos

McKenna began indulging herself with the pancakes, and during the middle of her big bite she heard Kali's voice ring out. Embarassed, she looked up slowly, a sheepish smile.

“Hey Kenna!" -- A small pause as Kali's eyes wandered down to her picture, "Oh do you want to be alone?" McKenna shakes her head.

"No, no please sit, it's quite alright." She says, swallowing the pancakes down and wiping her sticky syrup fingers on her napkin.

"I just saw you over here alone…and wanted to say hi. Oh do you know who you roommate is yet?” Kali sat down next to her and McKenna nods, the smile fading from her face.

"Dear, God. When I found out my who my roommate was I almost passed out with fear. It's Jade, y'know Jade Locke? How bout you?" Kenna shudders a bit, Jade and the rest of those girls scared her to all hallabaloo and back.

She was hoping she got to room with Jess, or even Ellie for that matter. But she was stuck with one of the crazy party gals from Noctrem... Oh boy, was this going to be a year to remember. That's for sure. How could Leo even think about mixing them? It was a crazy idea. and that's when Lil came over.

"Hey are you, okay?" Lil had a concerned look on her face and Kenna nods, unwrapping her muffin with a smile.

"Yeah, I'm alright, how're you Lil?" She chirps, "We're just talking about our roommates. I can't believe they're mixing us in with the Noctrem students... That's going to be a devastating disaster and a half... I like using my room to study, not to be a empty trash can for beer bottles and other things. I just would hate to see the poor chick rooming with that Cor girl... Goodness..." She begins to realize she was rambling and takes another bite of pancake, her eyes turning to Kali again, "Did you find out about your roomie yet?"

McKenna pats the grass beside her, offering Lilly a seat. McKenna's old Verizion flip phone buzzed with a text from Jess:

Hey smellybum! Was pretty disappointed that I didn't get glomped on my way into the school! :p Hope you're okay! Assembly's at ten, I'll see you there? Jess xx

Kenna chuckled and replied:

Hey loser. Sorry, I was avoiding you. I CANT be seen with a weirdo like you with these Noctrem students. :P Lol jk, love ya chicky. I'll meet you outside the assembly ten mins before. DO NOT be late. xoxox :)

The girl puts her phone down on her notebook and looks back up, "Sorry guys," She hated texting people in front of others, she found it to be rude, "That was Jess."

She gives a smile and takes another sip of her tea and swallows it, a thoughtful expression on her face.

"Maybe we could talk to Mr. Marinos about the rooming arrangements, ya? He'll understand all the issues that goes along with us rooming with the Noctrem students... Right?" Her voice hinted more than a great amount of hopefulness.

Addison Lawler

Addi grabbed a cup of coffee and a muffin with a sigh, and began walking to her dorm, still grumping about the whole being stuck with the mind reader. It wasn't the fact Ellie was a bad person, it's just Addi thought a lot of terrible things in a day, and she didn't need some bitch to hear every last one of her thoughts down to the punctuation mark. Leo's voice is heard over the intercom, something about an assembly? Whatever, she doubted half the Noctrem students were going to go anyway... Or show up stoned, or even drunk.

The good thing though was, as she had noticed before, there were a ton of different hideaways in Arcana, much like Noctrem had. She sighed quietly, shaking her head as she dragged her luggage towards the dorms.

Room One: Eleanor Carson and Addison Lawler

The print was ingrained in her mind as she wandered down the halls towards Room One.

She let out a grumble as she got to the room and busted open the door, not caring if anyone was in there or not. She dropped her stuff on the empty bed near the window. Addi begins to unpack her clothes and such, then takes her fresh pack of cigarettes and puts it in the back pocket of her skinny jeans and shrugs on her black leather jacket. She finishes unpacking, putting her luggage and suit case underneath her bed and sighs, walking back out.

She would definitely have to go over some ground rules before Ellie and her started living together.

Now, time to find something to do around here...

But what?

She could go wander around campus for a bit, or go see people...

Wandering around campus seemed to be a better idea, Addi wasn't much of a people person anyway. With a shrug she closes the door to her room and walks back outside. The thought of Jay kind of consumed her brain for a slight moment then faded. Addison knew that for a fact Jay most likely wasn't interested. But whatever, she wasn't one to go after someone, plus the fact that he didn't ever seem really interested. She'd endured the feelings though. Romance wasn't really Addi's thing... No... She sighs busting out another cigarette and lighting it quickly, inhaling and then exhaling slowly. She sees three Arcana students sitting under a tree, one of them was what...McKenna, and... that flower girl it was something like Lilly or whatever, and...Kayla, or whatever the fuck her name was... She didn't care to get to know them at all to be honest. She just wanted out of this goddamn school and back to Noctrem. At least things were in order there, there was a skeleton of social status, but now being thrown into this, it was ridiculous. She knew her closest friends from Noctrem -- Cor, Jade, Hulk, and Bells -- were going to scare the living shit out of most of Leo's loyal's for the most part. But she couldn't really picture any scenario where the Noctrem and Arcana students mingled smoothly with no corruption of the social system.

Shit, things were going to be rickety for a while.

Jaysin Dennis & Killian Jackson

The night before was turning into the biggest blur since Jay had been at Arcana due to Killian throwing him a little party before the Noctrem kids invaded their space. "You've got the be fucking kidding me!" Jay rolled over to find himself in the bathtub of Killian's bathroom, not remembering how much he had drank the night before. "Killian! Get the fuck up! We're late!" By the time the clock was showing, Noctrem had already arrived at the school. "Fucking fuck. Shit, fuck." He said when he stepped out of the bathtub, revealing his drenched attire. He looked in the mirror to see marker all over his face with the word 'Pussy' written across his forehead. 'Oh, I'm going to kill him.' The thought was matched with two clones appearing by Jay's side as he walked into Killian's room to beat the shit out of him.

Before he could wake from the shouts coming from his bathroom, Killian woke to the feeling of fist in his back and hands pulling him to the floor. "What.The. Fuck!" His eyes opened to see three Jays standing above him, causing the pain. That's when he read the word across his face and busted out laughing as he released his arms to wrap and trap Jaysin. "Fucking pussy!" He said as he shoved the three Jay's across the room getting up to explain himself. "That was drunk Killian my friend!" He shook his head until he felt the headache coming on. "Go ahead and head to your room. I need a quick shower and some new clothes. I'll be there in like ten minutes." He hoped Jay wouldn't want to have another counter-attack, so he was cautious when he made his way to the drawers beside Jay to get some underwear and under shirt.

Instead his friend headed to the door with the most pissed off look on his face, slamming the door behind him. Killian hopped into the shower to the coldest water he could handle, so he could wash away the alcohol that was still swimming around his head causing the worst pain since he'd started drinking. Shutting the shower off after a quick scrub down, Killian wrapped his towel around his waist to make his way into his bedroom. He grabbed the most clean cut outfit he could find to look his best for the new Noctrem girls that would be in the halls any minutes now. He smirked with his completed look, grabbing his book bag and headed to Jay's room.

Jay had stormed out pissed because he would have to scrub the shit out his forehead to hide the letters that "Drunk Killian" wrote across it. He ignored the new faces that were already making their way to their new rooms. He didn't even want to imagine who was in his room, but hoped that they would just end up pushing all the Arcana students together and leaving the Noctrems to themselves. As soon as he touched the doorknob, Jay felt his phone vibrate seeing the text from Freya run across the screen. He smiled at the idea of a present from her, and quickly replied back,

Pretty, pretty Freya. I have missed you more than you know. I'm in room sixteen if you'd like to come by now. I'm hoping in the shower, but my door will be unlocked.

He pressed send, finally making it into his room seeing the newly placed bed that would soon be filled with somebody he could stand. He stripped quickly, jumping in the shower to enjoy his last bit of privacy before it was taken away. He didn't mind the extra person in his room, but it had to at least be somebody he could stand. He couldn't imagine living with somebody that had fucked or was still fucking Cor. He caught himself daydreaming for too long when he heard a voice from outside his room. "Fuck.. Be right there!" He yelled the last bit so whoever was at the door could hear. He still needed to dress and brush his teeth, so he was lucky enough he had the outfit hanging in the bathroom with him. He would need to hurry.

Finally making his way to Jay's room, Killian spotted two girls already hovering outside of it. "You've got to be fucking me." He approached the girls until he noticed that one of them was Cor, who he had seen pictures of. He pushed in front of the girls to put a space between them and the door. "Hello Cor.. And?" He said as he looked over to the girl that he couldn't place. "Obviously a Noctrem.. Nothing against that. It's just I don't know you, and you're outside Jay's room.. So.." He kicked against the door until he heard another yell. "Must be in the shower! Please enter!" He said as he turned the knob, hoping it was unlocked. It was very unlike Jay to ever lock his door, so this time proved beneficial for the smoothness Killian was trying to accomplish.

Walking into Jay's room, he noticed the bathroom door was closed, so he smirked at the opportunity at hand. "So Cor.. How does it feel to be back with Jay? He tells me you are both going steady again." He knew Jay would kill him for his remark, but he couldn't resist.

"Ignore the bastard." Jay said as he walked out of the bathroom, seeing Cor and Erin standing near the door. "Hey sweetheart." He said as he kissed Cor in front of Erin and Killian not caring what the two thought. "Sorry, I wanted to be down there as soon as I could, but.. Late night." He said as he rubbed his forehead, hoping the word had disappeared enough not to be noticed. [b]"So are they sticking Arcana together? If so, whose my roommate?" He shot Killian a look as he asked the question, who was appearing to check Erin out.

Freya Mason

Feeling a pair of hands on her waist, Freya jumped slightly but relaxed when she saw Scott standing behind her, a smile graced her lips and was about to say something when his lips captured hers. The kiss was fiery but sweet and she would have kissed back if she hadn’t of been in shock, that was the last thing she was expecting to happen, when he pulled away, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear her breath caught in her throat and stared at him, eyes wide.

“I’ve been wanting to do that for such a long time” he spoke in a low whisper, rendering her utterly speechless and after he walked away she stared after him for a brief moment before turning back to Ashleigh "Did that really just happen?" Freya asked breathlessly, before shaking her head trying to regain some composure, yet so many questions ran through her mind all at once and it became difficult to focus. Why had he done it? Or perhaps more importantly why could she still feel his lips on hers? That was definitely a new sensation.

Freya almost missed Zac bounding up Ashleigh and if it wasn't for her saying her name she would have gone oblivious, too many thoughts, yet she didn't know why she kept on thinking about it, it's not like she's never been kissed before, hell she's probably had better kisses yet the tingling in her lips and the flutter in her stomach, frightened her slightly, when they had a strictly platonic relationship she could keep her feelings for Scott at bay, but now they were quickly rising to the surface at a ferocious speed. "huh? oh hey Zac" she greeted with a smile and a small wave, but before she knew it he was gone again.

'Sorry about him, he's a lunatic... especially when he's with me' Freya laughed slightly at that statement, noting the girls shyness 'So um, assembly's soon, did you want to show to your room now or later?' Freya thought about it for a moment "Will we be able to go now? I could really do with freshening up, trans-Atlantic flights are a bitch" she chuckled.

Feeling a buzz in her pocket she read the text from Jay with a wide smile before typing a reply.

Jaysin, I think you've turned into a sap in my absence darling! 16 huh? Guess who's your neighbor? ;) I'm just gonna dump my bags then will be round in a bit xo

Putting her phone away, she quickly apologized to Ashleigh "should we?" she asked motioning her to lead the way.

Cor smirked when Jay called out from his room. He was probably in the shower, the idiot. She glanced at Erin and was just about to say something when she caught sight of a guy heading their way, looking at them like they were somewhere they weren’t supposed to be. She recognized him as someone Jay hung around with a lot, but she couldn’t remember ever being told his name. So when he greeted her with hers, she raised both eyebrows, looking him over thoughtfully. He was a handsome one – actually, he was hot as hell. It seemed she wasn’t the only one who had a knack for making hot friends. She gestured towards her best friend. “That’s Erin. Who the hell are you?” Her voice held a harsh edge. She didn’t like it when people knew her without her knowing them. There was something creepy about it, and she honestly couldn’t say she was a fan. She felt like he was holding the cards and she despised it, especially as he then invited them into Jay’s room. Who the fuck was this guy?

She moved to lean against the doorframe casually, watching the guy with an assessing, cold look in her eyes. It was pretty much how she regarded any new person she met, and probably why she had so few friends. Or maybe that was because she disliked more people than she liked, but hey, now that she thought of it, maybe it was because she was such a bitch to people. Hm, yeah, the latter was probably the major reason here, and she couldn’t honestly say that she gave much of a shit. If they couldn’t handle the flames, they simply shouldn’t start the fire. Or… wait, was that not more appropriate for Sky? Probably. She mulled it over. Why hadn’t she ever thought of this before? One could say that Cor’s thoughts weren’t really on Killian, even though her eyes looked like she was staring him down intently. She didn’t really care. As long as he wasn’t going to get in the way, he could do whatever the hell he wanted.

When he commented on her and Jay, however, Cor was brought back down to earth and she frowned, narrowing her eyes at the guy in front of her. “Does he now?” she said thoughtfully and a bit coldly, obviously not taking it in a very positive fashion. Apparently he was closer to Jay than she’d thought which merely made her wonder why she hadn’t been introduced to him yet. Obviously it was also bullshit. The only one Jay was going steady with was his girlfriend, Kate, and though Cor hated that fact, she dealt with it… for the time being. She was starting to feel herself giving in, though, because letting go and opening herself up to Jay completely would maybe result in his eyes staying on her. The way he looked everywhere else was worrying her. She knew she held his heart, just like he held hers, but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t fuck around like she did. He’d told her he was doing it to make her jealous, but could she really trust that? She didn’t feel like she could trust him, and she’d told him that. Everything was just such a fucking mess.

Her eyes soon fell on Jay exiting his bathroom, fortunately dressed, as he told her to ignore Killian. She smirked at him. “’The Bastard’”, she began, “isn’t easy to ignore when he talks about things he shouldn’t know shit about.” She raised an eyebrow at him, but grinned when he greeted her with a kiss. The proximity made it possible for her to make out what was written on his forehead, and she couldn’t help laughing, “morning, ‘pussy’,” she teased him, letting her fingers dance over the word. “Hey, I’m glad you didn’t come down,” she then added, a naughty glint in her eyes, “gave me an excuse to come up here instead.” With that she snaked her arms around his neck. Hey, if he was going to kiss her in front of the others, she sure as hell wasn’t going to hide anything either. She started laughing again when he asked about roommates, “oh, love, you are not going to be happy.” She told him, still laughing a little as she spoke. She then cast him a mischievous smirk after calming down a little. “They’re mixing us. Arcanas with Noctrems. I’m with Lauryn, Erin’s with Loralei, and you…”

She paused, pursing her lips in thought as she looked up at him. She couldn’t help it. Drawing it out made it so much better, “you are going to need to reign in your temper in a second...” She leaned up to let her mouth dance over his neck and ear, nibbling and placing tiny kisses to get him in a good mood before she whispered in his ear, amusement in her voice, “you get to room with Sky.”

Drake Quellen

Drake laughed at Lora’s comment about him shrinking and shook his head at her. “Maybe we should start measuring height every day, just to be sure and all.” He countered playfully, “I’m pretty sure I shouldn’t start shrinking just yet.” He chuckled, pulling her closer. He couldn’t help it; she felt good in his arms and her body was a perfect fit for his. So, he liked his girls petite, was there anything wrong with that? He just wanted to whisk her away and do naughty things to her. The thing was, Drake could see the thoughts mirrored in her eyes, which made it even harder to resist. But… he had to. He’d promised himself that nothing of the sort would go down between them, so nothing would, and that was that. Besides… Erin did have a point, he was no good for any girl. Of course, if you wanted pleasure in the bedroom, he’d never had any complaints, but if things went beyond that, he was probably the coldest bastard you’d ever meet. He didn’t turn the girls who fell for him down. He played with them, and he didn’t give two fucks. They were entertainment to him, and nothing more. Sure, they didn’t know that, but whatever.

"So what room are you in? I'm in nine. Rooming with...Erin Hawthorne? I think that’s her name. I only just glanced at the list. The crowd was sort of suffocating me." Lora then said, and Drake grinned down at her. “Erin?” he chuckled, “that’s Cor’s best friend, so you’re probably going to have to get used to her presence soon.” Then, thinking a little, Drake’s smile grew, “she’s cool, though you probably shouldn’t piss her off. She’s a bit of a wild one.” Then he finally let go of her – mostly because he wanted to do so much more to her body than hug it, and he wasn’t going to, so letting go was the best option. “I’m with the speedster in room 2.” He then told her, his voice more or less indifferent. He didn’t really care. Colby was an alright guy. A little too out there sometimes, but hey, he was sure the guy wasn’t as bad as some of the others and the sexuality bit didn’t bother him either. He’d grown pretty used to that stuff after rooming with Theo’s ex Scott. He’d known about their relationship pretty much from the get-go. It was hard hiding things from your roommate. Especially if your roommate was as perceptive as Drake.

At her next words, Drake looked her over, smiling wryly before glancing at the clock on the wall. “Well, you could always show me where room 2 is,” he told her, smiling down at her before picking his huge duffel bag up from where he’d dropped it to hug Lora, “I’m getting sick of carrying this monster around,” added as an explanation, referring to his bag. “Then we can always sneak off,” he said with a playful glint in his eyes, “we still have a couple of hours until the assembly starts. I guess we’ll have to go to that. I’m not too keen on getting more detentions right now.” He flashed her a crooked grin. “I think I’ve had plenty lately.” He began walking towards the stairs, knowing that Lora would keep up, “if I didn’t know better, I’d say our headmaster doesn’t like me.” Then he chuckled. He was perfectly aware that Leonardo Marinos was far from his biggest fan. Probably because Drake spent a lot of time trying to get inside the guy’s head. He was making progress if he said so himself, especially since he’d noticed a change in the guy about a week ago. The same kind of change he’d noticed in the school nurse. And Drake, well… he didn’t believe in coincidences.

#, as written by throne

Colby had accepted the honor or carrying the Party Box quite willingly, wrapping his arms around it. The sound of thick glass bottles knocking against one another made him curious, and he reminded himself to be careful while carrying it (and then promptly forgot).

He remained in his own little world of what he might have been able to identify as low-level anxiety if he bothered to identify any of the negative emotions that he occasionally came across. Anger was the most frequent visitor, especially with the Noctrem kids sharing the school with them for the last month. Even then, it wasn’t all that frequent. Sadness was almost unknown to him. He just didn’t see the point of it. Every day was filled with a hundred reasons to be glad he was alive. There were other more tricky ones that he couldn’t even supply names for that came and went, but none of them mattered. Neither did his misgivings relating to Sky and Landon.

He tuned back into the conversation and blinked. ”Oh, yeah, I was just thinking about something.” He looked at Sky quizzically. ”Isn’t it a little early for Asian take-out, dude? I mean like, I’m pretty hungry, but are there even any Chinese places open in this timezone yet? Haha. Man. I’m like, starving.” Just like that, Colby had forgotten his proposition… or really, Sky had screwed himself out of the quickie by comparing Eden to food. If there was anything that Colby enjoyed more than sex and attention, it was definitely food.

”Wait wait wait.” Another snippet of Sky’s voice caught up with him. ”Did you say you’re rooming with Jay?” Concern softened Colby’s features, and then he realized that the last twinges of worry about Landon and Sky being put in the same room were gone. He knew that the self-replicator hated Sky, though he wasn’t exactly clear on why. Somebody might have told him, once, but if they had his mind had already lost hold of the information. He opened his mouth to say something, but that was when Landon decided to come over, and Colby was distracted yet again.

”Yes, I figured it out.” And then, uncertainly: ”It’s Drake, right?” Reminded of his roommate’s identity, he glanced around, trying to find him. Ah, there he was, with Lor. And Lor totally looked to be in a good mood. He almost headed over to the pair to greet his new roommate and give the girl a big old hug, but then he remembered that he was talking to Sky and Landon. Oops. ”Isn’t… Ad-Alert like, some spyware program? Wait wait, no, Eriol. Eriol.” He tapped his foot so fast that it sounded like an outboard motor. It helped him think. ”Oh, he’s that weird kid who likes to pull pranks. Haha, better be careful.” His nose wrinkled slightly. ”So not cute. I don’t know. Maybe he’s your type though.” Colby shrugged.

He grinned at Landon, though, one of his bigger and goofier grins. ”Dude, we were just talking about food, haha!” Well. Not really. But he thought they were. ”Great minds, right? But… oh, Sky is in with Jaysin, like… okay. I have a plan!” He announced this exuberantly. ”Let’s get Sky settled in, like, all three of us, in case Jay’s still in there. Then we can get some breakfast. I hope they have French toast today. I am craving French toast like you would not believe. Sound good?” His head whipped back and forth, looking first to Sky, then to Landon, and then back to Sky.

The Empath

He was alone in a massive steel fortress, the clouds dark and stormy as he surveyed the world around him. The entire landscape was bleak and desolate, fires raged around the fortress as demons of rage, lust, envy, and greed; as well as spirits of valor, justice, tolerance, truth...they all beat at the steel walls, trying to claw their way in. Vincent knew exactly where he was too, this was his mind, and he stood upon the battlements of the fortress that protected it. At times, the young man hated his power, because he didn't know true rest like others did. His mind was always active, always alert to the emotions and dreams of others, that attempted to invade his mind, seeking to drive him to the point of raving. He just glared balefully at all the emotions at his walls before forcing himself to wake up.

As the man rose from his dreaming, Vincent merely looked out the window and sighed to himself. He knew that today was the day that the Noctrem students would be coming to live with the Arcana students, and tensions would be running wild along with the emotions that went with it. So, he got up and went to the bathroom to take a shower. Stepping into the hot water, he sighed outloud this time as he felt the raging emotions through the school. He felt them battering at his walls, trying to get in, but with a simple pulse of his power, they were driven back into silence once again. As he rinsed off, the young man stumbled and fell as he felt rage and anger so powerfully close to him. He knew those emotions...they belonged to Amy and Leo. I wonder what happened between them...or was there relationship issues? Vincent mused to himself before stepping out and hurridly drying off and changing into his usual gray suit with a red tie.

After moving from his bedroom, the young man grabbed some bagels and jam from his kitchenette before walking out his door and locking it. The empath was hit with a new wave of emotions as he noticed the Noctrem students already within the grounds, and probably seeing the room assignments. Vincent shuddered before collecting himself and moving on, forcing his way deeper into the emotional maelstrom. Eating as he walked, the man stopped in front of Leo's room before knocking loudly. "Leo? Are you in there?"

The Bioweapon

After walking back in through his window, the young man surveyed his single room before grinning to himself and stretching. Oh, how Keirol just loved to excercise in the training grounds. He suspected that he'd need to repair the place after accidently blowing part of the wall apart with a punch. "Oh well, the Old Man will tell me to do it later anyway." Shrugging to himself the young man quickly stripped off his clothing and walked into the shower to get the sweat and grim off of his body.

As he stood there, feeling the water run off his body, the young man merely smiled slightly to himself as he thought back on the month he'd spent before today, with the Noctrem blonde that encompassed his thoughts. As he got lost in thought, he couldn't help but think back to the day where he offically obtained a girlfriend, where Erin Hawthorne and he became a couple. That evening on the hillside was one of his most cherished memories, and he couldn't wait to meet her again. "Wait...isn't today the day where the Noctrem students come to live with us?" He asked himself aloud before grinning and hurridly drying off before throwing on a pair of jeans with sneakers and a button-up shirt and leaving his room. Using his key to enter the teacher's living quarters, he blinked at Mr. Steele at Leo's door before snagging one of his bagels and yelling inside the room. "Hey Old Man! Up and at it! We got work to do today!" Nodding to Vincent the young man left the teacher's section once more.

As he walked the halls, Keirol noticed the students milling about aimlessly, but he couldn't really care less. His attention was on trying to find two blondes. Once he walked further down the hallways, he found the two outside Jay's door. I wonder what they're doing here. He simply mused before leaning on the wall and looking into the room. "Erin, Cor. Good to see you two." He stated conversationally giving them both a smile. He knew what Cor thought of him, being an Arcana student and essentially Leo's son, but he actually liked hanging around her. The bitchy blonde had a way of spicing up life. He then winked at Erin and faced her completely. "How was your trip over?" He just looked at Jay and nodded to him in hello but he shot Killian a small glare.

Sky Byrnes

Sky's brows furrowed when Colby began talking about Asian resturants. Are there Chinese places open in this timezone yet? It clicked in his head what Colby thought they were talking about. "Oh, that's not what I mean-" He started, but was interupted by the speedster, who seemed to want to confirm who Sky's roommate was. "Yeah. That guy fucking hates me haha." He gave a small laugh, cracking his knuckles. He noticed a look of concern spread across Colby's face and a smiled came to Sky's lips. He was going to say something, but he kept his mouth closed when he saw Landon walk up. Damn. With Colby's mind on food and Landon with them, Sky seriously doubted his chances of getting laid. He gave a small sigh. He really wanted to fuck. Like really. But he got over the desire and focused on Landon.

Sky smiled and nodded at him in greeting. Landon was a cool guy and Sky could see why him and Colby were such good friends. Well, friends with benefits. A pang of jealousy hit Sky as he watched the two speak, but he quickly pushed the feelings back to where ever they came from. It was ridiculous to be jealous of their relationship. Sky had to remind himself that him and Colby were just friends. Nothing more, nothing less. He snapped his attention back to the two, who were talking about Eriol. Sky smiled as he spoke up "Oh Eriol! He's really cool. Colb's right, he's super weird, but he's really funny."

He raised his eyebrows in a way to say he was interested in Landon's suggestion of breakfest. A small smile came to Sky's lips when he heard Colby say they were just talking about food. 'Oh Colby.' He thought, mentally chuckling to himself. He listened to Colby's idea about all of them going to get Sky settled in. "Well, Jay would be less likely to try and kill me if you guys came." He started. "I think it sounds like a good idea." He looked over at Landon. "You up for it?"

Eden Haven

Eden listened as he heard Kali's voice on the other side of the phone. "Yeah, I can go check for you. I got Marcurio Espenosa. Do you know who he is? The name sounds familiar, but I can't put a face to it." He made his way to the list again, the crowd getting smaller and smaller as more students went to unpack their things. He ran his eyes over the list, finding Kali's name. "You, my dear, are with Miss. Yvette Beatrix in Room 19." Eden smiled. "Alright, me and Mary will find you in a sec. See ya in a second." He got off the phone and looked at Mary.

"She says she's behind the school." Mary nodded and the started walking to the back of the school so that they could find Kali.
They found her soon, seeing her along with some other girls. Eden broke out in a sprint and jumped on Kali, wrapping his arms around her shoulders. "Hey Kali!" He greeted, as if they hadn't seen each other in weeks. He gave a big, goofy grin and let her go, waving to all the girls. "Hey." Mary came up, smiling at the group and giving a wave.

"So, are you guys staying here until the assembly?" Eden asked, looking around and seeing Adina, another one of his angels, sleeping a few yards away from the group. "Just a second." He said, walking over to her and running his hand against her hair. "Wake up, Adina." He said sweetly as she slowly came to life. The rose petals in her hand slowly fell to ground as her fingers slowly cracked balled into a fist. A smile came to her stone face when she saw the boy in front of her. "Hello Eden." She greeted and he smiled back at her. "Morning Dina. The Noctrem student are moving in today."

She raised an imaginary eyebrow. "Really? Oh. Interesting." She slowly walked away from her previous spot and looked at the group of girls. "Hello girls!" She sang, dancing over to them. She was the most dramatic of Eden's angels, by far. Eden smirked and followed her. "I had to wake her up." Eden said, grinning at the group. Mary and Adina smiled at each other, the angels standing side by side. Adina waved to Kali. "Hello sweetheart!" She greeted cheerfully. "So I hear the Noctrem students are here today. Hope none of them break one of us." She chuckled, making a strange noise that sounded like someone shaking a bag of small stones. Eden's eyes widen at the thought of someone defaceing or breaking one of the angels. That would be horrible.

Ellie sat quietly in the corner of her bedroom, rubbing gently at her temples. She had become attuned to the voices of the Noctrem students and the Arcana ones individually, and with all of them in one small school, it was beginning to take a toll on her brain. Her head was hurting, unable to ignore some of the louder thoughts coming from downstairs; the protests of Corentine Quellen, Colby Haskin's excitement, the slight fear in Sky Byrnes. She wished that there was some way to stop the voices from entering her head against her will, but there really was no way to do it; she had tried many different ways, and researched for months, but to no prevail. She was just stuck in a vicious cycle of pain, and knowing every body's business. Rubbing her temples was one calming way that she had found oddly soothed the pain, however, that was it. That was all there was that she could do. "Stupid power." She grumbled to herself, her eyes closed as she concentrated on peace.

However, peace was not what she found. A few seconds later, there was a knocking on her door, and the girl's head was snapping up, a smile on her face. She didn't even have to hear the voice of the person outside to know who it was - she could hear his thoughts well enough. Izaiah Dorson was one of the people who's voices she could pick out of a crowd, an extremely difficult feat for a mind-reader. She slowly got up from her corner, her eyes opening as she moved. Izzy was one of her best friends, one of the only people in the entire school who wasn't afraid of her power, and didn't mind being around her despite of it. It was nice, not being treated like a freak and a leper for once, and it honestly made her smile. Izzy was such a lovely guy, and there were butterflies in her stomach as she moved towards the door, opening it with a bright smile on her face, one only for him.

"Good morning, sunshine." She smiled, leaning head throbbing head against the door frame, hiding her pain as she usually did. "How are you today?"

They had survived it; their first proper argument. Leo couldn't stop himself from smiling as he felt Amy relax a little into his arms after he had pulled her into his loving embrace, literally feeling the tension leave her body. He felt that something was wrong with her, by the way that she was taking in longer breaths than usual, and the strange way that her body was moving, but he just put it down to the fact that they had just finished arguing. It had to take a few minutes for the anger and the hurt to properly die down at least, and that's what he believed her to be doing. With a smile still on his face, the immortal male held her close to his body, never wanting to let her go. "I'm sorry." He whispered again as he pressed his lips into her hair, taking in the beautiful scent of his Amy.

However, the moment was soon taken away from him as Amy quickly pulled away, after his little joke. "Wha--" he began asking her what he had done to upset her or something, his eyes changing from calm and serene to worried and a little frightened. But, she hadn't just moved away from him. No, the woman that he loved had dashed over to the toilet seat, and she had began to throw up the contents of the wonderful dinner that she had cooked last night, despite how little of it the two of them had actually eaten. Leo moved over to her and pulled her head back gently, brushing it around her ears, moving it off of her face. The man held her brunette locks back with one hand, the other he used to gently rub her back. He had always found that helped when being ill, the soothing motion of a hand rubbing your back, and so, he was trying to pass that on to his beloved.

His eyes were filled with worry, his body tense as he looked down at her. She hadn't been ill the day before - she had been perfectly fine. He had no idea what could have caused this - it definitely wouldn't have been food poisoning, as he had eaten the exact same thing and felt fine. Once Amy had stopped throwing up, the male quickly moved from his position, grabbing his water glass from the bathroom side, filling it up with fresh, cool water. "Here you are, baby." He spoke softly, soothingly, holding it out to her for her to take.

The male then heard a knock at the door, so he put the glass down next to Amy, popping his head around the bathroom door. Vince's voice floated through to his ears after a short burst from Keirol, causing the male to grown inwardly. He called out through the doors, obviously not wanted to leave Amy alone in this state, and... well, his manhood was only being covered by a towel. "Vince, kinda' busy right now. Can it wait?" He then moved his head back inside the bathroom, smiling at Amy. "Sorry baby."

Erin didn't pay much attention as Cor dragged her up to Jay's room, her eyes still scanning the crowds of people, looking for her beloved Keirol. She pouted ever so softly when she couldn't see him, ignoring the stupid wink that Drake had shot her way, before following Cor up to the elevator shaft. However, soon, she was listening to her best friend speak, nodding along to what she was saying. "Yeah, I can't see him around. Jay's probably the next best idea." She smiled softly, dragging her suitcase behind her, pulling it by the handle along the linoleum floor. Her heels clicked as she walked, mimicking the noise of Cor's, echoing around the halls of the school.

"It wasn't just sex? My god, Cor, you're going soft!" Erin nudged her best friend, a playful smile on her face as the two of them made their way towards Jay's room. The room that he was going to have to share with Sky. Oh, that was going to be hilarious. Erin thought that there was probably going to be a lot of late night noise coming from that room, from Cor, from Jay and from Sky. The girl inwardly shook her head, thinking of how she was mostly going to be spending her nights. She wouldn't be in the room with Loralei, the gypsy girl for much of the time that they were here. Oh no, she was going to be sleeping in the arms of her beau, of her Keirol. A stupid smile came onto the girl's face as she walked, thinking about her boyfriend. Her free hand came up to gently touch the pendant moving around her neck, before bumping into someone. "Shit." She muttered as she bumped into Cor, who had stopped in front of Jay's room.

The blonde hadn't realized that the door had been opened, that Killian person standing there. She let her hand move once in a short wave as Cor introduced her to the male, the one that she had seen around a couple of times. He was friendly with Jay? Eesh, bad move, Elastic man. Soon, Jay was entering the scene, wrapping his arms around Cor, enveloping her in kisses and what not. The girl faked being sick, poking her tongue out as she did so. "Do you guys have to? Honestly?" She grumbled, before a deep voice made her turn around quickly. The feigned sicky expression on her face was replaced instead by a bright smile, one she only had for Keirol. The girl leaned her bags against the nearest wall, before moving closer to her boyfriend. She wrapped her arms around his waist, holding him close to her. Well, if Cor was going to flaunt her relationship, why couldn't Erin. "Hi." She murmured softly into his shirt, before craning her head, looking up at him. "It was fine. I think Cor drooled on my shoulder as she snoozed, but other than that..." She smiled, pressing her lips to his in a short, sweet kiss. Then, she noticed the look on his face, a glare being shot at Killian. She was going to ask him why, but it was then that she felt the male's eyes on her body, and felt herself chuckle quietly. Erin wrapped her arms tighter around his waist, continuing to look up at him through her eye lashed, a grin on her face. "Down, boy."

#, as written by Mela
Miss Amalthea Roerig

Amy hated throwing up. It was the most disgusting, repulsive thing ever, and she couldn’t even breathe as the little bit she’d had to eat the day before kept forcing its way up and into the toilet she was bent over, blocking out airways. Soon, she could feel Leo’s hand gently gathering her hair, his other hand caressing her back and she felt herself growing thankful once more that this man loved her, even as she sat there, fighting to breathe while the lumpy, yellow substance forced its way up. Maybe this was a delayed allergic reaction to the red wine from last night? She was grasping at straws though, because she knew her body would’ve reacted sooner if that had been the case. The thing was, however, that others possibilities didn’t fit with this random pattern either. Tears began streaming from her eyes in frustration at her inability to breathe. When it finally stopped, Amy fell down onto her bum, heaving for air as she took some toilet paper and wiped her mouth, throwing it into the toilet afterwards.

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Leo moving from her, filling a glass with water and she closed her eyes, trying to calm her body from the shock it had just experienced. Normally if a student had come to her with similar issues, she would’ve asked about sex, protection and the likes, because it would be one of the first signs of pregnancy. But with her, that simply couldn’t be the case. She’d only had sex last night, and before that, she hadn’t had sex in something like half a year or so. Besides, she was on the pill, not that it was a certain guarantee of anything, but still. The mere fact that she sexually couldn’t be suffering from morning sickness already, completely erased that possibility, so what was it? Then she heard Leo’s voice and her eyes fluttered open to see him. She smiled weakly at him as she took the glass, shaking a little. She would calm down in a bit, but right now her body was still adjusting. “Thanks,” she said hoarsely before taking a big gulp of the water, closing her eyes as it soothed her aching throat and made her breathing much smoother.

Her eyes followed him as he poked his head out the bathroom door and she wondered who was knocking. Probably either Vince or Keirol. If it was important, Leo would merely take care of it. She wasn’t helpless after all. She could handle herself and she didn’t want him forsaking his Academy merely because she couldn’t keep her dinner down for some odd reason. Her ears perked when she heard Vince’s voice, wondering what he wanted. She frowned slightly as she thought it over. He’d probably felt the emotional explosion between her and Leo. She sighed, shaking her head a little. She’d have to talk to him about that. What if they’d still been arguing? All in all, she didn’t want Vince coming by every time Leo and she had a blow-out, because she knew there would be more to come. Fine that he hadn’t tuned it out; he couldn’t help his powers any more than she or Leo could theirs, but he didn’t have to act on it. She knew he’d be understanding enough and respect her wishes on this. She couldn’t remember Vince ever being difficult in that department, which was why she loved him. As a friend, of course. Never more.

She smiled softly when Leo returned to her and she took another sip of the water, looking up at him through a veil of dark, thick eye lashes. “It’s fine,” she said, still smiling that soft smile of hers, “I’m fine. Really… I don’t know what just happened.” Truthfully, she did feel much better already, even though she had a terrible taste in her mouth, and probably even worse breath. Yuck. “Just need to brush my teeth.” She struggled to her feet again, quickly regaining her balance as she stood and went to the sink. She felt weak. Not only tired, but weak. Was she coming down with something? That was weird. She was literally never ill. Ever. Her magic provided some kind of shield, she supposed, supporting her immune defenses. She shook her head a little, trying to calm it as she took her toothbrush, adding toothpaste before she began brushing her teeth, getting rid of the vile remnants of her dinner. She’d actually puked in front of Leo. That when it hit her. This was downright embarrassing. What came next? Peeing with the door open? Gods. She shivered at the thought. What was he thinking? She glanced at him with toothbrush in her mouth, gauging his reaction for the first time since her ghastly display.

Drake Quellen

Drake laughed at Lor’s comment. Ah, this girl. He loved how she always played right along with his bullshitting. Not a lot of people had the wits to. Granted, he was good so it was understandable, but he always like a good game with an opponent who actually proved a challenge. “We could,” he said thoughtfully, grinning down at her. “But I think it would qualify as damaging school property so Scary Marinos might give us a talking to.” He wiggled his eyebrows at her and chuckled. He knew how close Lora felt to Leonardo Marinos, which was funny because the guy hated Drake. In truth, maybe that made Lora all the more appealing. It was just entertaining. In reality, Marinos had a stick lodged up his ass and Drake couldn’t help wonder what would happen if someone pulled it out. Ah hell, he had so many tongues up there it probably wouldn’t make much of a difference. Thinking of that, wasn’t Colby one of them? The thought made Drake smile. Maybe rooming with Colbs might end up pretty entertaining after all. As it was, however, he was considering how they’d swing things because the way he saw it, they were both pretty sexual guys. In different ways. Very different ways, thank you.

Drake snorted in amusement at Lora comparing gypsies to Erin, “no, I mean… that’s her power. Erin goes all Hulk when she’s pissed, and she’s got a bit of a temper.” He smiled secretively at how much that benefited him in reality. Then he laughed a little. “So yeah, I don’t think you can quite compare it, sweetheart.” Soon, she was commenting on his roommate and Drake smiled casually. “Nah, I’m good, really. It’s fine.” He didn’t mention how he was starting to consider the entertaining aspects of rooming with Colby. Honestly Drake rarely voiced his actual thoughts. He never lied either; he just withheld certain information he didn’t see fit to share. Not that people noticed. They were too caught up in his smiles and the fact that he always seemed so carefree and casual in everything he did. So they didn’t even notice. The same way they very rarely noticed that he didn’t actually give a shit about them.

He could easily narrow down the people he himself considered friends to one degree or another; Cor, Lora, Lulu, Jackson. Now, why was his sister on the list? Well, he sometimes disliked his sister to an extreme degree, but he knew she cared about him, just like he did her. They never showed it, but they did. Jackson had a stick up his ass, but Drake considered him a friend nonetheless. Maybe because Jackson was the kind of guy Drake knew he would be able to count on in a sticky situation and honestly they’d grown to become pretty good friends this last month. Lulu spoke for herself; she was Lulu, and the same could be said for Lora who he’d known for years. So yeah, considering how many people thought themselves his friends, he didn’t really return the feeling a lot. Of course, Jaysin would’ve probably been on the list years back, but then he’d fucked Cor completely up by leaving and ignoring her existence, and now things were just fucking bungled. Theo’s ex, Scott would’ve been included too, but he was dead, so… yeah.

When Lora commented on him being Lazy, Drake merely smirked at her. “You say that like it’s something new,” he countered. Of course, Drake wasn’t usually lazy. Not really. He was the kind of guy who’d get up at 5 am in the morning just to get a good work-out before school, and he wasn’t being lazy right now either. He just frankly wanted to get the whole room-introduction thing over with so he could move on with his life. With her next comment, Drake laughed, ruffling up her hair just to show how easily he could reach. “What kind of gypsy are you, forgetting your magnifying glass? Really, Lor. What would your mother say?” He said playfully, feigning outrage at the fact, before grinning down at her. “Besides, I thought we’d already settled that you need to stop dreaming about being taller than me.”

“Strict?” Drake repeated her words about Leo thoughtfully, almost tasting the word before laughing. “That’s an understatement. He’s such a rule-rider, it’s almost embarrassing. He’s going to have his work cut out for him now that all these idiots from Noctrem are moving in, though. My sister and her bitches are going to be hell to deal with while they get settled in, for instance. Now, they’ll need to establish their little social order for real, and it’s going to cause trouble because those chicks want to be on top.” He shook his head, smiling wryly before giving her a half-concerned look, “better stay out of their way for the next couple of weeks, love.” It was a rare show of affection from Drake. Mostly because it was genuine; not faked in any way. He actually was worried about Lor now that she was staying with Erin, and he knew Cor didn’t like his little gypsy friend. Never had. He didn’t want her getting hit in the crossfire, so to speak. Not that he didn’t know she could handle herself, but compared to some of these girls, Lora’s control of her magic was shady at best.

Addison Lawler

Jade cracked up at her mock of innocence, " "Sweetie, your liver died a long time ago. And I dont think mine ever really existed to be honest. And you and I both know we barely ever think clearly."

Jade was most certainly right on that one and Addi couldn't help but chuckle and she pulled out some rolling paper, but then Scott's voice rang out behind her.

“City Girl!”

Addi smirked a bit, popping her hip out to the side as she turns towards Scott, "Hey, baby." She said, a smirk flashing across her face. She watched his body as he made his way over, he had been working out, she could tell. He stood besides her, and they make eye contact for a moment, but she broke it away when he asked what they were up to. Oh, Scott. What an interesting little character he was. She couldn't really tell if he was simply a make-out/fuck-buddy, or something else. He seemed to really be into Freya, so she wasn't going to intrude on that. But Addi was looking for something a bit deeper, why? She had no fucking idea, but she was. The one guy she was really after was Jay...But, he was somewhat distant...Whatever.

Not like it mattered, she had the whole year to fuck around. And she was young, with her best friend by her side she could do anything. Maybe she'd get Drake in bed one of these days. He did seem like a sensational fuck...

Her train of thought went off a bit and she shook herself back into reality. She couldn't believe how ridiculously fixated on sex she was at the moment, but then again, she found it slightly justifiable, considering she hadn't had it in over...What was it now, three months?

Fuck, had it really been that long? Ugh. She let out a noticeable sigh, which could have been easily mistaken for boredom. Addison wasn't really one for wearing her heart on her sleeve, and Jade was the only one who could read her like an open book. Sometimes it scared her how much Jade actually knew about her....

Bringing herself back to the present, she caught what Jade was informing Scott on.

"We're just going to...have some fun before this assembly shit. Cor that general direction, I think. I'm pretty sure I passed her when I was walking over here." -- Addison raised an eyebrow, knowing something vividly terrifying was going to escape Jade's lips, "And yes, I'm rooming with little miss McKenna. The bitch won't know what hit her. Or...she might, because it will definitely be something big and hard. Maybe a chair."

A devious grin flashed across Jade's face, and Addison nodded with approval, "Aw, I've taught you so well." She cooed, pinching Jade's cheeks jokingly.

Before Jade could make a move to kill her, she swung her arm around Scott and Jade's waist, "Well, we've got the goods, and a whole lot of area to hide, lets blaze up, my little darlings." She says with a laugh, "Jade, you have your flask on hand from last night, right?"

He thought about putting in his earbuds and playing some music. The room he shared with Zac was one of the last dormitories, and that meant he’d have to pass almost every single room on his way to the cafeteria. Having his earbuds in wouldn’t preclude anyone trying to converse with him entirely. He’d learned that the hard way. It would help, maybe. A slight frown tugged at his lips as he wondered why he was feeling so misanthropic today. Well, moreso than usual, anyway. Even he had to admit that the impulse to wreck Zac’s drums and how terse he’d been were somewhat over the top. Was it just the move? He’d gotten used to having his own motel room and the freedom that it entailed. Or was it something more, something that he wasn’t fully conscious of?

Speaking of Zac, he spotted the boy heading in the opposite direction of him. Feeling ever-so-guilty for how he’d behaved before, Theo lifted a hand in greeting and managed to reorder his thoughtfully frowning lips into a smile. When he heard the sound of Zac on his drums soon thereafter, he found himself very glad that he’d decided to eat rather than read or catch a nap. Ear plugs, he decided. That would be his concession, his act of kindness. He’d just invest in some ear plugs, and Zac could practice with a brass band for all he cared.

As he passed Room Sixteen, he heard Jaysin’s voice, and slowed down just slightly. There were other people in the room- Erin and the strange boy from Arcana, Keirol. He heard the voice of Corentine Quellen afterward and abruptly picked his pace back up. His dislike of Cor outstripped his fondness for Jaysin by whole orders of magnitudes. He didn’t feel like enduring her presence, and the room already seemed quite crowded anyway.

He kept walking. Spotting Amber heading into her room, he tensed slightly, and then let out a captive breath when she just slipped in without seeing him. He’d been avoiding her for… well, a while now. When she saw him, her eyes tended to spark with interest, and her body language suggested that she was going to approach and engage, and he really didn’t want to allow that to happen. He had a sneaking suspicion about what she wanted, and he had far too many secrets to be comfortable letting that girl get close.

He tensed yet again when, closer to the atrium where the list had been posted, he spotted Colby, Landon, and Sky. Just walking by the three of them made him feel very much like he imagined fairly attractive women felt when they walked past a construction site. He was waiting for a cat-call, a proposition, some comment on his arms or his shirt or whatever detail of his appearance that they might bring up today. He wasn’t being entirely fair. Sky wasn’t nearly so bad as Landon, and Landon wasn’t anywhere near as aggravating as the speedster. He nodded awkwardly at the trio. Well, mostly at Landon. Landon, who’d managed to stumble onto one of his secrets. He’d sworn he wouldn’t say anything, wouldn’t mention it. Theo believed that he’d stay quiet, but he worried about the price. He knew the other boy was interested in him, probably even more so after their encounter the week before. How long would it be before it occurred to Landon that his knowledge would give him leverage over the object of his affection?

Perhaps there was an upshot to having a memory-meddler as a roommate. He’d have to broach the subject with Zac cagily. He might have been from Arcana, but he had no qualms misusing his powers for the sake of schoolwork. Getting him to purge Landon’s mind of what he’d learned… well, he’d have to think about it. That would only mean he was indebted to Zac instead of Landon. He might be better off with the latter.

He glanced around at those still near the list, hoping to spot one of the few faces he considered actually friendly. Someone he wouldn’t mind talking to. His mind was busier than usual. That tended to indicate that he needed to get something out of his system. Oh well. Seeing no one promising, he soldiered on to the cafeteria. Maybe there would be someone there. Or maybe he’d just have to wait for his run to blow off steam.

Theo often forgot to eat, but when he did eat, he did it right. He got himself a tray and upon it gathered the following: one bowl of whole-grain cereal with two percent milk, two scrambled eggs and two thick slices of ham, a glass of orange juice, wheat toast, and a small pre-packaged fruit and yogurt and granola bowl that actually looked really good. Carrying his food to a vacant table, he sat down and got to work, eating little bits of this and that, diminishing each aspect of his meal proportionately, except for the yogurt medley, which he saved for lonesome last.

After a minute or two of persisting solitude, he slipped his earbuds in and started some music. Move Along by the All-American Rejects started up from his randomized playlist.

Colby grinned when Sky cracked his knuckles; it was a very different grin from the goofy standard he made of his mouth most of the time. It wasn’t so much the way his lips were curved that was different, but the competitive cast to his eyes. One might almost think that he wanted Jaysin to start something with Sky when he was there. He blinked when Sky seemingly held off on saying something when Landon arrived, but that was quickly forgotten because… Landon arrived, and the conversation sped on.

He burst into laughter when his buddy mentioned a sock-on-the-doorknob code for him and Drake. Was it really that funny? Probably not to most people. To Colby it was though. Putting a sock on a doorknob made him think of putting a condom on a carrot, like people did in sex-ed classes, and for some reason, thinking about that never failed to make him guffaw. ”Haha, totally,” he said once he’d calmed down. ”I’m going to have to buy a ton of socks, haha.” Apparently it didn’t occur to him to designate a single sock for that purpose.

He listened to the other two, nodding along as Sky put in his two cents on Eriol and Landon agreed to help back Sky up if need be. Maybe he’d been worried about nothing before. Sky and Landon were getting along just fine. Really, Landon was being his usually awesome self and joining the cavalry. He decided that things were totally copacetic (this was the most sophisticated word in Colby’s vocabulary, though the precise connotation escaped him) and moved on, flourishing another grin. ”Jaysin is a total babe though. Haha, he’s going to like, be sooooooo obsessed with you not seeing him naked.” He turned his grin on Sky as he said it. ”It’s kind of hilarious how mad he gets when I hit on him. It’s like, ‘dude, chill out, it doesn’t make you gay if a gay guy hits on you,’ right? He should be, like, flattered, haha.”

He started off behind Landon, still carrying the Party Box. ”So what do you guys think the assembly is about?” That actually hadn’t slipped through the holes in his mental colander. ”Sounds like it’s a pretty big deal, right? Maybe us being put with Noctrem kids was like, some computer mix-up or whatever, and we’re gonna get our real room assignments, haha.” He blinked, and then gave Sky a nudge with his arm. ”No offense dude, haha. I just wish you were with me. That would have been so awesome.” His eyes glazed a bit, and he imagined what it would have been like had he and Sky been put together. Awesome was certainly one way to put it. The other ways to put it warrant censorship.

He gave Theo McCaffrey a once over as the moody boy passed them, then looked over to Landon a few seconds later. ”Didn’t he like, totally shoot you down too? Soooooo glad I didn’t get stuck with him. I think I might have like, died of frustration or whatever, haha. Hopefully whoever he’s with can like, cheer him up some.” He looked over at Sky then, whipping his head quickly. ”Was he like, ever happy? Or did he always look like he was having a mug shot taken, haha?”

The speedster listened to both his friends- occasionally opening his mouth, like he was about to butt in, but when he couldn’t quite do so, he fell silent and listened again. Obviously they were all in agreement about the roommate thing. Not that he really minded Drake, just… well, someone he could beat off in front of would have been dandy. He made a mental note (or tried, anyway; making a mental note was a bit like trying to pin something to glass for Colby’s always-racing mind) to broach that subject with his new roomie if he got the chance. It would segue nicely from them sorting out the sock system, or whatever method they used to make sure that one didn’t walk in on the other screwing. Not that Colby really cared. As far as he was concerned, Drake could grab some popcorn and watch or, even better, join in. Some sneaky sexy sort of thoughts dragged his attention away from the better part of Sky’s explanation on why Theo was such a head-case without much resistance. He blinked away images of Drake crawling into his bed naked and tried to get back into the flow of chatter.

”Oh yeah! I remember hearing about that. That sucks so hard. I guess I’d get kind of emo too if one of you guys died.” Colby was always the very picture of compassion. He thought about possibly trying to make friends with the solitary boy, but… well, he’d tried that. Sort of. He’d been shot down just as hard as Landon, if not harder, and even as dense as he could be, Colby was well aware of Theo’s dislike of him. It kind of pissed him off, occasionally, but rather than dwell on that he chose to give him his space and think about what he looked like without clothes on occasionally.

He gladly delved his hand into the bag of candy, rummaging and then pulling out an Atomic Fireball and a yellow lollipop. He unwrapped the former in a blur and popped it in his mouth, hollowing his cheeks as he sucked. He probably would have noticed that Landon had gotten angsty looking if it weren’t for Scott (Andrews) passing by. He rolled his eyes at the nickname that the buff boy employed for him, which was somewhat hypocritical given the level of cheesiness he was known to rise to. It was all in good fun though. He was quickly grinning at Scott and soon thereafter undressing him with his eyes.

”Scotty with the body, what’s up hottie?” See? Cheesiness. Unlike a lot of straight guys, Scott didn’t have a problem with Colby’s perpetual level of interest in getting in his pants. Actually, he sort of seemed to enjoy it. The attention, if not the idea behind it. Colby had high hopes, though, of one day convincing Scott to switch teams, however briefly. He often forgot that Scott and Landon were not fans of one another. Now was one such moment. He laughed aloud when Scott snagged a condom. ”Pretty sure he has some extra-small ones in there somewhere, bro,” he teased. It was sort of like reverse-psychology. It had worked on “straight” guys in the past, preying on the classic male size insecurity to get a glimpse of what was hidden in their boxer shorts. His nose wrinkled up when the boy made reference to Cor, or more specifically, the fact that he and Sky had both banged her. That was something he hated thinking about. Showers were mandatory for Sky before fooling around with Colby- unless he could smell soap on the boy’s skin, he refused to so much as kiss him until he’d witnessed him getting cleaned off. He appreciated the fact that Scott had Sky’s back too, even if the reason for it completely grossed him out.

As Scott headed off, he remembered that he had candy in his mouth and started sucking on it again. The first thing he noticed was the way he was working over his green lollipop. He frowned though as his eyes wandered away from Landon’s mouth. He failed to make quite a few connections, instead deciding that Landon was upset because he’d hit on Scott. He leaned over, wrapping the other boy in a half-hug, affectionate if incomplete. ”Dude, cheer up. You’re totally my favorite, you know that, haha.” He pulled away, and regarded Sky.

”Man, this candy is just making me even hungrier.” He would have patted his stomach, were he not still holding the party box.

His eyes slid to her fingers, the knife, the interplay of the edge of the blade with the waxy skin of the apple. He had plenty of experience with knives, in his dreams more than anywhere else. That little trump card was one of the many things that he was worried about Amber ferreting out. He could do anything he wanted in his dreams once he had a working knowledge of it, and he could do it for a very long time if he stretched out the time dilation relative to the real world as much as possible. By keeping his body in peak shape and practicing in secret in the real world, he could, after a fashion, translate that dream-time expertise into very real capability. Watching her play with her food, he made a mental note about her capability with small, edged weapons and moved on.

There are no reasons for us not to be friends.

He could think of a dozen off the top of his head, the first of which was her use of a double-negative. The grammatical sin was minor though, compared to, say, the potential of her getting him committed to full time psychiatric care. Theo was fully cognizant of what would happen if anyone ever found out about his time with Scott in his dreams. The careful act he’d put in place to fool them into thinking he was finally coping would be destroyed, and he’d have earned himself a one-way ticket to group therapy and finger-painting his feelings. His composure was slowly eroding. He’d tried to react not at all to the blatant intimidation tactic, but when she licked the knife, the corners of his eyes crinkled in a slight show of disdain. Elegance would have been far more effective for dealing with Theo…

… and then she transformed. He recognized who she’d chosen when she was only half-way through, and immediately his mind began racing.

Landon had talked. He’d told her. She’d probably disguised herself as Haskins and blew it out of him. Why else would she choose that particular shape? He was cursing himself for letting Landon catch him free-running, cursing Amber for being a manipulative bitch, and cursing Landon for probably-accidentally divulging what he’d sworn to keep quiet. In a fit of paranoia, he sketched out hundreds of scenarios, some of which involved Landon telling Amber to get back at him for denying his advances, others which related to her using guile to work it out of him.

Amber had chosen well, because in Theo’s eyes, she would see fear, a sort of shining glint of brief panic. It was only a few seconds before he’d finished freaking out, but that particular damage was done. She had to know she’d hit a nerve. Theo had lost whatever advantage he’d been hoping to gain entirely.

He calmed down slightly when she spoke again and felt like an idiot. Landon hadn’t said anything. She’d just picked up on his attraction and thought she might be able to use it against him. Dumb luck, on her part. If Landon hadn’t been the keeper of one of his secrets, turning into him would have been about as effective as turning into Justin Bieber (whose songs Theo could not name a single one of). He went from anxiety to bristling in an instant, again angry largely at himself. This is what happens. Things start to fall apart.

It was a very good thing that she’d elected not to become Scott. Theo would have killed her, or tried. His mind was rational enough that he wouldn’t be reduced to sobbing at the sight of him. He saw him all the time, when he was asleep. He’d have recognized it for what it was: a cheap ploy to manipulate him. And he would have been furious, enough so to embrace expulsion, jail-time, whatever, in order to end her.

He needed to explain his reaction to her transforming into Landon. Or maybe he didn’t? If she was assuming that he spazzed because he liked Landon, so be it. He’d reinforce that. Let her believe that, and think she had some hold over him. He slowly looked down into his empty parfait cup, trying to look as sheepish as possible. That was how people looked when people exposed their crushes, right? Sheepish?

”We can talk,” he said quietly, trying to layer his voice with some embarrassment. ”But not here. Tonight. I’ll come to you.” His power was perfect for clandestine meetings… and he’d be in control. Truly in control. He should have thought of that from the start. Finally, he looked up at her, trying to make his gaze pleading. ”Can you change back, please? I don’t want that you were… him… getting back to… him.”

As the Mr Marino's voice rang through the halls of the school, basically telling the students they five minutes until the assembly or else, Jess gave a small smile. Like anyone from her school was going to be at all phased if he slapped them with a detention, or punishment of any kind; there would probably be a group of them that would have a party in the detention room or something. As she watched the corridor slowly fill up with students, the brunette rolled her eyes. She couldn't believe that Mickey was late, if she wasn't careful, she was sure that they were all going to miss the assembly. No matter, detention parties were fun.

Suddenly, Jess found herself being attacked by a random pair of arms, causing her to squeal loudly. She turned to see her best friend grinning at her like a Cheshire Cat. 'Jesus Christ woman, I thought I was being taken away!' She cried, a smile etching her face. 'I've missed you too' She gushed, hugging Mickey tightly. She gave a small smile to the small huddle of people that Mickey had dragged with her. Jess suspected this had been the case, Mickey was never one to take no for answer.

'I'm actually in a pretty good today actually, rooming with Morgan, she's slightly less insane than you.. but only very slightly.' Jess told Mickey, giving a small smile as she remembered Mo basically jumping down her throat about her crushes. Poor girl, Jess was never one to disclose much, particularly those she didn't really know. The brunette wasn't even sure if Mickey knew about her crushes and they had become close extremely quickly. Truth be told, it did scare Jess how close the girl had become in so little a time. Mickey had seen how bad her mood swings could get, but she just...didn't want to hurt Mickey. She'd done enough of that for a life time.'How are you, my dear?' She asked the brunette next to her as they walked in the assembly hall.

Mickey had dragged the entire group to one of the middle rows in the great hall. Jess noticed Mr Marino's standing at the front, preparing to address both sets of students. Poor man. He looked smart and professional as always, but Jess couldn't thinking he was a little naive. Did he honestly think this would work? What's more he'd mixed the room. This wasn't a problem as far as she was concerned, she didn't mind Mo, not in the slightest. It was the others she was concerned about. She'd noticed that Jay and Skye were put in the same room when she'd looked down the list. There was defiantly going to blood when it came to that room pairing, Jess could tell that from the start. Jess looked back at Mr Marino's, she felt a small sense of pity. This man really did not know what had hit him.

She turned her attention back to Mickey, who was putting something into her bag. She nearly asked her best friend what it was until she noticed that the girl had gone very quiet and was tapping her leg on the ground. Jess had known Mickey long enough to know that this was one of her nervous gestures. 'Hey, it's going to be alright, they won't hurt you. As long as you stick with me.' She told her best friend, taking the girls hand in hers and giving her a small smile. She knew she couldn't do much, but she would protect her friends, above all else.

Drake Quellen

When Lora commented on her getting taller than him, Drake chuckled, raising an eyebrow at her. “Sure, Lor, on the 30th of February, second Thursday of the week.” He retorted playfully. The way she was standing on her tiptoes, made him shake his head with an amused smile, eyes sparkling with humor as he looked down at her. “You’re such a dwarf,” he then teased, messing her hair up a little. He’d always been way taller than her, and it wasn’t like that was changing at this point in their lives, but it was an old argument, really, having started back in Harrogate all those years ago, and it had just picked right up now that they were at Arcana together. If he had to be honest, he was glad Lora was at the Academy. He hadn’t realized he’d sort of missed her company a little. And now there was the added bonus of her very… womanly… appearances. Okay, she’d grown into one hot piece of a girl, and Drake had trouble not hitting on her, because he usually did. With women, he’d see something he liked, and he’d procure it somehow. But again, not with Lora. That was just a no-go.

He nodded a little absently when the young gypsy talked about Leo having his hands full, thinking again. Oh, he quite enjoyed his sister’s stunts and bitchy little ways, simply for the entertainment provided in that context, but he wasn’t about to let her fuck Lora up in the process. Sure, he usually sought out people she’d hate him being friends with, solely because it was fun bothering the blonde, but Lora had entered his life before that whole thing started, so she, if anyone, was off limits. He supposed he might have to shoot his baby sis a comment on that. He hadn’t said anything about Lulu and their issues, mostly because in some ways, Lulu brought it on herself, and he honestly considered it fair enough that his sister would strike back. He knew Cor had broken Lulu’s AC, but he didn’t get involved unless he had to, and so far things were harmless so he couldn’t say he cared much. Right now it was just a little amusing. Although, he wished Lulu would unsheathe the claws he knew she had. But then it would only get worse and… oh, who was he kidding? It’d be the show of the year.

Then she reassured him she’d be careful and he cast her a wry smile, “if I know you right, you’ll get yourself into trouble regardless. That is the definition of Loralei Evans, isn’t it?” He teased dryly as they reached his and Colby’s room. Twisting the door knob he found the door unlocked and opened, stepping inside. He took an introductionary, casual glance around the room, giving a slight nod of approval. This, he could live with. He dumped his bag on the bed that didn’t have custom sheets, guessing that was his, and went outside with Lora again just as Leo’s second announcement rang out and he chuckled. “He sounds rather grouchy, doesn’t he?” The shadow-manipulator commented, grinning with mischief and curiosity, which were usually one and the same with Drake. He couldn’t help it. Anything he could bother Marinos with, was just great in his book. “I guess we’d better go then, even if I do think time’s passed a little quickly.” He shook his head, closing the door behind him followed by him and Lora heading down to the assembly.

At the assembly Drake had been surprised to find himself house-captain of house Tyms, where he found both Lora and Lulu… and Jay. And well, honestly, the fact that he had Jade and Lulu in his house made his ‘job’ quite difficult, and frankly Drake didn’t work for anything unless it was his own amusement. There was nothing fun in playing police officer, so the odds of him being replaced soon were probably pretty grand. First the room mix-ups, and now this? Marinos was really falling off his horse, wasn’t he? But still, the fact that Ashy was captain of Cor, was extremely amusing, and that was at least something. Except he would’ve loved to be in that house just to see how that went down. Not that he wouldn’t hear the news and rumors, but being there in person was always better. If not, it was like hearing about a funny experience someone else had, where you’re all “that’s not funny?” and the person telling it, goes, “yeah, you probably should’ve been there.” Then why tell the story at all? Still, he was growing even more interested in how this year was going to go.

On his way out, still with Lora, Drake spotted Lulu. He couldn’t clearly see what she was doing in the throng of students, but he could tell it’d relieved her, whatever it was. He was just about to look elsewhere and focus on where he was going when she suddenly looked more than just a little ill. He frowned at the sliver of worry that ran through him. What had she been doing? Next he knew, the beautiful blonde was running out of the hall, heading south. He tensed, ready to follow at instinct, not even considering what that meant. Instead, he looked down at Lora. “I’ve gotta go, love. I’ll see you tonight, right?” He quickly said before heading in the direction Lulu had gone, not waiting to hear Lora’s answer. He knew she’d be there at Jackie’s party, so it wasn’t that important right now. This worry, however, was important. He worried so rarely, he was usually shocked when it happened. Usually he found things entertaining, but there was nothing fun about sickness. Especially not if something was seriously wrong with her.

Still, though, he couldn’t help a wry smile when he spotted her barging into the men’s restroom and he sped up, just catching the words “outta here” from the guy soon leaving the bathroom in a huff. Drake stepped to the side, allowing him to exit. There was now no one but he and Lulu in the bathroom and he stalked to the stall he’d seen her enter, quietly pushing the door open. He shook his head when he saw her and squatted down next to her. Drake then gathered her hair on her back, moving it out of her face gently, his fingers accidentally caressing her skin in the process. He could tell she wasn’t actually throwing up, but beads of sweat were forming on her face. He had no clue whatsoever what was wrong, and right now he didn’t care. He just, for some reason, didn’t think she should be alone with this. He put a cool hand on her heated forehead, looking down at her with worry in his eyes. He didn’t say anything, because really… what could he say? He didn’t want to crowd her right now, so he’d wait with the questions. Besides, she was pale as a ghost. What the hell had she been doing?

That’s when he frowned, recognizing this from his first year at Noctrem when he’d pushed himself too far, too many times in an attempt to get better control of his power, but it had never been this bad, and never this sudden either. He watched her more thoughtful now, pondering the possibilities in this situation, his mind going over several different alternatives. Of course it was a waste of cognitive functions since he could ask her in a bit, but old habits died hard. Why he was even there, didn’t cross his mind right now. However, it would have him wandering the halls of Arcana for hours and hours, because with that on his mind, he wouldn’t be able to relax and sleep. Nothing new about that. “Damn, Lulu,” he murmured softly, brushing stray strands of hair out of the way once more. Of course, he’d probably end up teasing her about this whole thing once he made sure she wasn’t dying or something equally insane, but right now he was just lost. He really didn’t have much experience with illnesses and such, so he was fumbling his way in the darkness, ironic though that was.

Miss Amy Roerig

During the assembly, Amy let her eyes roam the grand hall, observing the students, trying to get an impression of the overall opinion on this entire ordeal. Leo had spent a lot of time in his office this past week, sorting everything out, which meant they hadn’t seen each other as much as she would have like, since spending several hours in your boss’ office at a time might call on some unwanted attention. She was quite aware that some already had their suspicions, which made the matter of publicity even more urgent. Better to tell people themselves, than to have rumours spreading, and considering the students they had just let in, it was probably going to happen sooner rather than later. With that thought, Amy’s gaze went from Amber, to Drake, to Theo… people from Noctrem she could imagine finding out about her and Leo. Sure, she didn’t think Theo was a bad kid, but she dreamt about Leo a lot of the time, although she supposed the most he could grasp from that, would be her infatuation with the gorgeous headmaster. Then again, who said Theo even had an interest in watching her or anyone’s dreams?

She instantly stored away those thoughts and her gaze moved on, now resting on the house captains being announced in turn. Her heart ached for poor Ashleigh, who was going to have a very tough time being captain in her house. She could almost see the poor girl turning paler by the second. She obviously hadn’t missed the fact that she had several of the most troublesome kids to deal with; Corentine Quellen, Erin Hawthorne, and Addison Lawler. Sure, they weren’t all bad people, but they were definitely more… wild, than average. To her knowledge, Sky and Scott weren’t the quietest of guys either, but she couldn’t recall them causing any severe troubles. However, that much could change. Then came Ben as captain of Causton , and well, Amy couldn’t really see that lasting long. He wasn’t exactly the most school-invested kind. Then came Bethany, and Amy felt a soft, unnoticeable sigh emit from her lips. That girl had to figure out herself and feel comfortable with that, able to take responsibility for her own life before she could start taking charge of anything else.

When Leo drew out Drake’s name for captain of Tyms, Amy’s eyes widened slightly, her gaze landing on said male. He looked more or less completely indifferent. Thinking about it, maybe Leo should have just decided on captains to make sure no disasters were chosen. The way it looked to her now, none of the captains were ideal. Her eyes hopped back to Leo, noticing his rigidity, the way his shoulders were shrugged back tensely, his usual smile abandoned in favour of an edgy line, his features drawn tight. Watching him, she felt glad they’d somewhat resolved their argument from earlier, because she couldn’t even imagine how he’d be feeling if he’d had problems with her to top off the day. What had she been thinking, even starting the argument this morning? She knew, yes, the dream, but she still felt like mentally kicking herself. She wondered what he was s nervous about, though. Her Leo was usually such a confident man, although she suspected a situation like this one would bring anyone to the edge.

Later, occupied by watching the throng of students and teachers leave the assembly, and especially seeing Lulu rush from the hall, Amy didn’t even notice the fact that Leo had turned towards her, or even sat beside her, so when he spoke, she almost jumped, her head snapping around, eyes wide in surprise before she registered the voice, followed by her eyes finding the most beautiful man she’d ever laid eyes on. Her lips curved into a smile filled with warmth at his question, and especially in reply to the vibrant smile he was casting her way. “Well, you definitely need to unwind some,” she said teasingly, a glint in her eye telling her precisely how she’d like to do that, before continuing, “but yes, you di-“ Before she could finish the sentence, Leo was cursing, the abrupt speed of his movements almost making her head spin. She blinked a couple of times, finally closing her mouth when he began explaining. Ah, yes, the new teacher. She remembered Leo talking a bit about a new teacher. He hadn’t told her much, and she hadn’t really asked. More pressing, Noctrem-related matters had been more important at the time.

“Ah,” she merely said in understanding before he was talking again. Leo hated being late, especially when others were depending on him, she knew that, so this wasn’t exactly helping him unwind, which she greatly disliked. Why hadn’t he told her he planned on getting Chris before the assembly? She would’ve reminded him, or at least gone to get the new teacher herself. When Leo extended a hand, inviting her to come with him, Amy bit her lip delicately, peering up at him through her dark lashes. “Yeah, sure,” she said, before eyeing his hand thoughtfully. Would it hurt her more to take it only to let it go moments later, or to not take it at all? Why did he have to do that? It’s not like she couldn’t get out of a chair herself. She sighed softly, taking his hand, feeling that same, familiar electricity, however, the sensation was brief due to the fact that Leo let go the second she was on her feet and she clenched her hand, savouring the brief contact, trying to quench the longing surging through her; the urge to hold him, kiss him, to run her hands through his hair. To see love and lust for her mixing in the gray pools that were his eyes, like last night.

When he began speed walking, Amy had to half run to keep up, but sensing his urgency, she didn’t complain like she most likely would’ve at another time. After all, it’s not like he didn’t know she had much shorter legs than he. And she did fall slightly behind, only catching up with him to hear the words, “-I’m late,” and those following. She took a deep breath to steady herself, curiously moving to the side so that she was no longer hidden behind Leo, and thereby able to see the new teacher. She took in all his features, her head cocking to the side slightly in thought. He looked familiar. Only when Leo finished speaking, did her eyes widen with realization. “Chris?” she breathed in disbelief, gaping at him. “That Chris?!” She blinked several times, then shooting an accusatory look Leo’s way, she almost squealed, “why didn’t you tell me?!” With that, a massive smile took over her features and she turned her gaze on her old friend again, the impulse to hug him causing her to rush forward and wrap her arms around him, somehow feeling like that alone would make him real.

She hadn’t seen Chris since leaving Arcana all those years ago, although they’d been pretty good friends. They just hadn’t kept in touch, truthfully, maybe because she’d, you know, gone to war and all, so she had only kept contact to her closest family. Thinking about it, their current lack of communication was probably her fault, but damn, was it good to see him again. “You look old,” she murmured playfully. She remembered teasing him about how much older than her he looked, despite the fact that she was actually the oldest of the two.

Drake Quellen

Drake almost chuckled at the blush coming onto Lulu’s cheeks, wondering in which direction her mind was taking her. Something told him it probably wasn’t entirely child-friendly, and the urge to tease her about it became nearly overwhelming. She was just so… susceptible, not that most women weren’t, but Lulu in particular could be very fun to play with, he realized. Why hadn’t he ever thought about that before? Well, if was definitely changing now. He wanted to see that red in her cheeks a lot more and he was going to strive to get it, because what Drake wanted, he procured for himself, and if there was one thing he could do, it was charm a woman out of her panties. But did he want to do that to Lulu? He mused it over. Why the hell did he ever give a shit? Normally he wouldn’t have given it a second thought, because it would be entertaining, but now he found himself wondering if she would be hurt when he left her after sleeping with her, considering if maybe he would be going too far. After all, she was a friend, one the few he actually had. Inwardly, Drake’s mind battled itself, but outwardly he maintained is usual, easy stance. It was something he’d taught himself to do quite well.

Soon, Lulu was rubbing her eyes as if trying to clear them, commenting on his slightly reprimanding words. A wry smile pulled at his lips, “ yes, that much it obvious,” he said teasingly. Yep, he was back. He wasn’t really worried anymore. She’d be fine, but… he still didn’t understand this odd need to help and take care of her. Shrugging it off, he guided the blonde on his arm out of the men’s toilets. When he noticed the three guys giving Lulu looks, he merely raised an eyebrow in their direction, as if saying, “got a problem? Take it up with me.” Drake might not be the violent type, or the kind of guy to go headfirst into trouble as such, but he wasn’t one you wanted to mess with, and his entire demeanor screamed as much when he wanted it to, which he did in this case. He relaxed a little once the guys scurried off; obviously deciding whatever they thought of Lulu wasn’t worth any actual trouble over. When Lulu spoke, Drake’s eyes found her once more and another sly smile came onto his face. “Showers, eh?” He teased, his eyes glinting with wicked thoughts. Then he just chuckled, shaking his head. “In your bathroom,” he then finally told her.

They both grew quiet then, Drake taking care to be entirely sure she wasn’t going to stumble and hit the floor with her nose while he could do anything to stop it. After all, the floors didn’t deserve that kind of violence, right? Oh, who am I kidding? He asked himself, inwardly sighing, I don’t actually want her to stumble. But again, that made him wonder why, because there was always at least slight entertainment in people falling over their own feet. And sure, he realized Lulu means something to him, but did that mean he had to go all protective super hero? Damn it, that really usually wasn’t his style. He’d begun growing irritated with himself when Lulu spoke again, and he completely disregarded earlier thought, a devious smirk curving his lips. “Help?” He murmured, his voice deep and seductive in itself as he looked down at her. “Could be arranged.” He deliberately let his eyes roam her body. How was he supposed to try and have morals when she kept tempting him like this? Women.

Her next words made him chuckle, wicked, dark brown eyes once more giving her body their undivided attention. He easily held on to her as she half stumbled, not even stopping in his track. He had a good hold on her, and she wouldn’t be hitting the floor. All she had to do was regain her balance, and as she did, her next words following, he grinned sinfully at her, his eyes intense, his entire demeanor completely in flirt-mode. Drake pulled them both to a stop only to skillfully turn them around and gently press her slight body up against the wall, both his arms winding around her waist now, so that his heat was completely enveloping her, even as his body trapped hers between it and the wall. He leaned down, his lips brushing against her ear as he murmured seductively, “now, what’s the fun in keeping our clothes on?” Of course, it wasn’t like Drake was actually going to have sex with her. Obviously, she wasn’t in a state capable of satisfying him properly anyways, but playing with her right now was extremely entertaining for some reason.

If he was going to fuck Lulu, it was going to be done right, and not in some stupid situation like this when she could barely walk by herself. Not that he was going to fuck her at all… right? Yep. Friend. He’d sort of told himself not to fuck the few people he considered friends, but in that case, he really needed to stop befriending hot girls who wanted him, because it was making his life damned complicated. Again, it wasn’t like Drake couldn’t resist and keep his dick in his pants, but he was starting to think he’d really rather not. Hell, maybe that was just because he hadn’t had sex in a while. What had it been? Two? Three? Weeks. Keeping your sex-life alive when he were rooming with Cor in some motel, proved to be harder than you’d think. Thinking about it, he felt pretty sure last time had been with Erin, because Cor actually left when it was her. He suspected it had something to do with the fact that Cor knew what kind of role Drake played in her best friend’s life.

Maybe he should exert some kind of revenge on his sister. Manipulation was a gift of his, and he could definitely use Jay in some way, but then… would using Jay be a bit too cruel? He and Cor didn’t really try to make each other miserable. Sure, they bickered like cat and dog, and they most definitely had a lot of differences, but they were still family and in some incredibly fucked up way, they did care about each other. Despite the fact that living with her had been hell. Good luck to Lauryn, was all he could say.

The blonde was in a peculiar mood as she walked along the hallways, pondering her situation with Jay. Again, they’d had sex. Hot, passionate sex. The kind she’d only ever had with him. But though her body melted for him, and her heart was doing backflips every time she was with him, her mind was still holding back. She sighed, shaking her head as she reached her room, the red suitcase at her heels. If that door was locked, she was going to blow it apart. Because though Cor had just had amazing sex, her mood was far from good. In fact, she had no idea how to define it. All she knew was that she was going to take it out on someone. Yep, that definitely always helped her mood. Hell, she was probably going to fuck around like a whore tonight just to show Jay that she wasn’t his. Not that she didn’t want to be – she just didn’t want him to know it. Gods, when did her life become so fucking complicated? She reached out a hand, testing the doorknob and finding it unlocked. She took a deep breath, almost disappointed that she didn’t get to break something.

And what was with Erin not texting her back about that damned assembly of Marinos’? As she pondered this, she dragged her suitcase inside and took a look around her, her gaze flickering around the room. It was pretty obvious which side belonged to her, so that was always something… she supposed. And well, the room wasn’t the worst she’d ever stayed in, so long as Lauryn didn’t prove a total pain. She pushed the door closed with her heel, moving to sit at the edge of the stripped bed. Running a hand through her curly mane, Cor frowned slightly. It wasn’t like Erin not to text when she promised to, and that had her wondering what was going on. Was she okay? Hell, of course she was. Erin was a tough girl. Satisfied with that short deduction, she drew out her iPhone, texting Addie…

Which do-gooder did’ya get, babe? ;)

She left it at that, sending more or less identical ones to Bells and Jade. She didn’t give enough of a fuck to go check herself. Besides, she wanted her girlfriends’ takes on their new roommates. She had a feeling not all of them would be too pleased, and she was more than willing to help out in that department. Which now had her wondering if any of them had attended the assembly. She had a feeling interesting information had been given out. Ah well, she’d nag Drake later if it became a problem. Guy had a brain like a sponge, and he would’ve taken notice of everything. Because that was her brother. Growing restless, she changed into this, deciding to see if she could go find something to better her mood. Despite popular belief, Cor didn’t exactly enjoy being in a bad mood. In fact, sometimes she’d rather go back to before she’d even met Jay again, go back to the girl she’d been then. She hated the way he was fucking with her mind and emotions.

Hitting the halls, Cor soon spotted a darkhaired male exiting the teacers’ wing. He looked young. And hot. Like, tall, dark and handsome hot. She gave him an observant once over. New teacher? Or a boyfriend to one of the female teachers? Only one way to find out, Cor, she thought to herself, soon finding herself following this guy. Keeping quiet was a talent of hers, and she proudly discovered that he didn’t notice her at all. Probably because ever since she’d discovered sound was carried by air, she’d been practicing making herself soundless. Or, more so, manipulating sound to go in the opposite direction of the person she was following, or sneaking up on. What did people have powers for, if not to find new ways of using them at all times? She endeavoured to get most possible out of her powers. Once they reached the forest, Cor rolled her eyes. Forest in heels? Sure, why not. She grudgingly noted to herself. She considered briefly to just turn around and leave the guy alone, but decided against it in the end.

Cor didn’t pay much attention to the others in the forest, mostly because she considered them all more or less beneath her notice. When he stopped to tie his shoe laces way out of sight from the others, Cor let a smirk pass over her lips, tilting her head to watch his bottom. Not bad. She quietly moved closer, before deciding to lean her back against a tree a little behind and off to the side from him. Then a thought crossed her mind. Time to say hello, baby, she mused, a devilish, sexy grin coming onto her face as she let the wind rustle around in the leaves behind him. When he turned around immediately, battle position at the ready, she chuckled. “Just the wind, love. Nothing all that scary about it. Yet.” Oh, she had a feeling this was going to be fun. “In fact, now that I think about it, it’s been a while since it was last scary.” She pursed her lips, her eyes travelling over him. He seemed sort of familiar, now that she had him in perfect view. Not that she let it be seen on her face.

Addison Lawler

Addi rests her head for a minute against the tree and then her phone buzzes. She quickly grabs it, and opens up the text, chuckling a bit.

Which do-gooder did’ya get, babe? ;)

Addi grins and texts back, her fingers flying across the keyboard

Sweet old, Eleanor Carson... Swear, that poor girl will be so scarred...

Addi places her phone down and begins to strum her guitar, the chords to Wonderwall by Oasis come to her mind first and she begins to play that. Boring as this place was, Addi had to give credit, it was peaceful. The forest had good hiding places, the buildings were sturdy, and the architecture was brilliant. Of course, even with all that said, it still was a dump mostly due to the goody two shoes. Oh well. Mostly likely, the girl would end up ignoring everyone, or just mess with everyone's heads for the most part.

She would try not to think of Jaysin of course... or the drama that would go on between her and Cor, that come with her even talking to Jaysin... She sighs, trying to put the thought out of her head.

The words to Wonderwall were slowly passing through her lips, "I don't believe anybody feels the way I do, about you now..."

[[short post, sorry.]]

Cor smirked at Chris’ comment to her words. “Do you, now?” She mused aloud, slowly approaching him. She was already in a better mood. Hell, this was free therapy. Thinking over her options, Cor wondered at which route to take with this one. She could scare him, she could maim him, or she could be nice and merely make him a little uneasy with her. She liked telling people from the beginning, that she was not one to be messed with. She had gotten Marinos off of her back, and Montgomery, well… she knew she was his favourite. All the others were dealt with easily enough. She wasn’t worried in the slightest, because they knew her well enough not to mess with her. She was not above doing to teachers what she did to students who crossed her. Cor liked power, she likes abusing her power, and she was going to make sure everyone knew it in advance. Once he introduced himself, Cor found herself cocking an eyebrow, her gaze sweeping over him once more. Well, he sure did look like a PE teacher. Yum on a stick, anyone?

Something, however, in his eyes caught her attention. He looked almost wary, like she was about to discover something he didn’t want her to. Ah well, that was his deal. She was not about to dig around. She wasn’t into that stuff. It was Amber and Drake’s deal. She was more direct by far. He interest was a bit more… palpable than someone’s past.

With his following question regarding her having ideas for a club, she flashed him a sexy, daring little smile. Was he flirting with her? “Why, Mr. PE teacher, I do believe nicknames like these could lead a girl to think you were flirting.” She said, her voice smooth and teasing, her eyes running over his body once more, clearly telling him she wouldn’t mind if he was. Mostly because, if he wasn’t flirting, he was being patronizing, and well, if the latter was the case, he wasn’t going to be a teacher here for long, which would be too bad. One couldn’t have enough man-candy. She reached him then, stopping only a meter from him, casting another gorgeous smile his way; one full of promises. Problem was, it did not tell of which kind of intentions were behind it; only that there was more than just a smile to be considered. That’s when he asked her another question, and she laughed softly. “Moi?” She started, feigned innocence in her tone. Her tone went back to its flirty, more normal ways when she continued.

“Straight to the point.” She grinned, walking close to lean in and whisper by his ear, “I like that.” Once she leaned back, she tapped her lower lip pensively with her right index finger, watching him. “Name’s Corentine Quellen, gorgeous, but you can call me Cor.” With that, the blonde smiled another alluring smile, purring, “don’t tell me they didn’t warn you in advance.” So far, she had to admit she actually liked the guy. Although, she was certain that wouldn’t last for long. He was probably one of Leo’s old goodie-goodies. Didn’t mean she couldn’t have fun until then, though. Besides, it was not like she was tied to anyone. Jay was being a jerk. A hot, irresistible jerk, but a jerk nonetheless. She didn’t like how he’d changed since he’d been at Noctrem. She had wanted to find her former boyfriend in there, and part of him was definitely present, but… he was different. It could only be expected, sure, but that didn’t mean she liked accepting it. Didn’t mean she accepted it at all, in fact.

Miss Amy Roerig

Amy instinctively leaned into Leo’s touch as his hand brushed her cheek, her eyelids fluttering closed. His hand was warm and soft, yet callused from his time as a Spartan warrior, and it called to her, calming her mind, spreading that same warmth through her body. For some reason, even the softest and gentlest contact between them, was enough to make her respond to him. He was calming her down so very expertly, but he couldn’t make the heat in the pit of her stomach go away; the heat that wanted something very different from a gentle caress. She ignored it, hoping it would go away. She didn’t want to cheapen the moment, so instead, the young brunette enjoyed the presence of her Leo alone. Her eyes slid open as he promised her he would apologize, and she couldn’t stop a little smile from coming onto her face. “Thank you,” she said quietly, loving him all the more. There was nothing sexier than a man who could admit to being wrong, and for Leo to apologize to the man he had just been so jealous of? She leaned up and kissed his lips in a warm, but brief kiss, telling him she forgave him completely.

After Amy had spoken those three words; words she had waited to tell him, she could feel Leo stiffen right before his arms loosened their hold on her, and his silence was like a dagger to her heart. She bit her lower lip, clenching him closer so that he wouldn’t be able to see the fear and worry in her eyes. Too soon, Amy. He’s not going to say it back. Idiot, it’s only been a week. Do you really think he could possibly love you like you do him? Honestly. He could have any woman. Why on earth would he ever promise himself to you like that? Doubts ran through her, her heart interpreting his silence in its own way, completely drowning out anything her mind would have had to say. He was so quiet, and she hated his arms had slackened around her, almost like she had completely shocked him. What was he thinking? Was he wondering how to go easy on her? She closed her eyes, her heart pounding rapidly. She couldn’t remember ever being this scared before. The thought of losing Leo was the most petrifying one she’d ever had.

Then he began talking, and her breath caught in her throat. She awaited his answer pensively, her arms hugging her Leo close. If she was going to lose him, she at least wanted him close and in her arms one last time. Gods, Amy, what the hell do you do this to yourself for, huh? She bit harder on her lip when he paused, her head spinning. He’s not going to say it back. She didn’t even realize how hard she was biting, until she tasted blood. But she didn’t care. She couldn’t make herself care, not even a little. Then he continued, words meeting her ears, without registering. She heard him, but she was unable to understand him. She was certain he had just broken up with him, and for a second there, she was close to crying. Until it hit her; what his words had meant and she finally took a deep, relieved breath, letting go of her bleeding lip. A sob rocked her body, her body coming out of a state of shock. Her head was swimming, her heartbeat slowly going back to a pace considered normal.

Her relief, however, was short-lived, because something else forced its way through her fog in her mind. He had hesitated, and though she didn’t know what, something was in his voice. She took another deep breath, finally relaxing her grip on him so that she could tilt her head up to look at his face, his eyes, the set of his lips. He wasn’t happy. She’d thought it’d make him smile. Instead, he looked so troubled, almost sad. She moved a hand up to cup his cheek, worry eating at her heart. “Baby, what’s wrong?” She said quietly, her voice soft and careful, violet eyes slightly widened. “What’s on your mind?” She didn’t like seeing him like this. Wasn’t telling each other “I love you” supposed to be a good kind of event? Was she missing something here? The young teacher searched the face of her boss and boyfriend, quietly looking for clues as to what was going on in his mind. She then sighed, her hand falling from his face. Her gaze fell to his shoulder, avoiding his eyes. “I thought...” she whispered then, before interrupting herself, “no… nevermind.”

Drake Quellen

When Erin breathed his name, Drake chuckled softly, biting down on the lobe of her ear. “Mhmm?” He murmured in response, telling her he was listening. He could tell he was getting her back; that controlling her dark side was getting easier already. Her body was relaxing, the trembling slowly subsiding. So he kissed her neck, just below her ear; a place he knew Erin, and most women in general, was very sensitive. The moan greeting him, brought another smirk onto his lips. The hand on her back moved to rest on her hip, effectively wrapping his arm around her. He pulled her close just as her body ached for his. That was the thing about Erin; he didn’t need to figure out what she wanted, because her responsive body told him all he needed to know. Of course, one needed to know how to interpret her sometimes, but after such a long time, he liked to think of himself as an expert in how to please the pretty blonde. That was the thing about Drake. He was a selfish bastard, but with sex, he more than anything enjoyed bringing his partner pleasure. A lot less selfish than most other men.

When Erin leaned in to kiss his collarbone, Drake let his gaze sweep over her. He knew what it meant. They’d developed a quiet language after a while of this, and it made it a lot easier to calm her down. With her next whispers, the young man began backing Erin up against a tree, disintegrating the bind on her hands only to reposition her hands above her. Then the shadows clamped back down, restraining her once more. Drake might know how to handle himself, but Erin’s strength was not something to just be messed with, and she could get a couple of swings in before he’d have the time to react, so he remained calm, but careful. Maybe that was what set him apart; most men would be scared of her in this state. Drake felt no such thing; never had, and he thought maybe she responded to that. That maybe his calmness swept over her too.

“Not a problem,” he murmured in her ear, his voice deep and seductive. His body was pressing against hers, his hands slowly dancing down her arms which were above her head. His mouth kept busy too, continuing its task at her neck and ear, teasing, nibbling, kissing – adding little flicks of his tongue once in a while. The he meticulously but languidly undressed her, his movements slow and measured in every way. He let his fingers brush naked skin once in a while, teasing her with his touch; not lingering enough to relieve her of the pressure in any way. Instead, he kept right on building. Once he had her body completely bared before him, Drake really got to work.

Drake had taken his time with Erin, so once they were finished going about their business, over an hour had passed. Once they had both found release, he picked up his shirt and drew up his jeans. Only once his t-shirt was in place, did he slowly let the shadows release the blonde. He watched her quietly, his eyes studying her. She was still naked; he hadn’t bothered dressing her, mostly because he enjoyed watching women putting on clothes after sex, just as much as he enjoyed watching them taking it off before then. He wondered how she was doing; he couldn’t remember the last time she had been this far gone, and he had to admit he was curious what had tossed her over the edge like that. He had protected her back from scratching against the bark by making a soft cover of shadows between them, almost like a blanket covering the harsh wood. He had surprised himself a little by being thoughtful like that. Ah well, this was a fucked up day in general. He supposed he shouldn’t be surprised, considering what had happened with Lulu too.

Fuck, Lulu. Once again, a wave of worry hit him. Was she okay? She had looked alright when he left her, and he'd made sure she had everything she needed. On that note, he began wondering what food to bring her. Something warm and soothing. Soup? Yeah, that sounded about right. He supposed.

Jaysin Dennis

With the fan blowing directly in his face, Jay kept his eyes penetrated to the ceiling not blinking once as the air dried out his eyes. By the look of things, you could easily tell that the guy was pissed, but the reason would be a little harder to figure out. It seemed that every time he found a good place with Cor she had to fuck things up. He just wanted her for himself, so why wouldn’t she fucking commit? The words echoed in his head over and over again until he finally blinked with the swift motion of his body sitting up. He let his elbows rest on his knees as he thought of every moment that they had spent together to past few weeks, and the second he mentions them becoming more than the whole “past-lovers, present-fuckers” she flips her shit. The contradiction in everything that she has said to him just made it want to give-up on her, but that’s something he could never do. Giving up on Cor was never an option, so why did the thought come so easily to mind when things like this happened? He assumed it was the space that had grown between them since he left Noctrem. He didn’t like to admit that space had come between them, but that was just stupidity if he didn’t accept the truth.

He knew he should go find Cor, but that was one of the last things he wanted right now. The yelling would probably just continue, so he decided on an option that hadn’t come to mind. Find somebody else. He didn’t realize at the time that this was what he was doing, but as he made his way out into the dormitory hall, his eyes began to wonder on the many girls that passed by him. With each lustful glance, Jay found himself on the hunt for something new. Cor had already made it perfectly clear that there was nothing he could do right now to make her his, so he knew there had to be some girl out there that would be happy by his side. Finding a girl would be the hard part though because he needs to find somebody strong enough to not be afraid of Cor, somebody that had enough backbone to stand their ground. That is when things started becoming a little tough because every girl he glanced at, he knew Cor would either kill her, or break her spirit within minutes.

Jay felt himself just wondering mindlessly at this point because there was nobody that had enough to stand up to Cor. Maybe that was what made him drawn to Cor. She would always ruin any good thing that came into his life, so why try to get away from her? He shook the thought off quickly because he knew that wasn’t the only reason he was with Cor. He was with Cor because he loved her more than any girl he had ever loved before. He wanted Cor in every way possible, so when she denied him he sunk into this state of mind of feeling trapped and helpless. He fucking hated the feeling, so that’s when he would go on these hunts. These hunts for girls that could satisfy him enough to want to be with him because that’s one thing he wanted. Somebody to want to be with him with ease. He didn’t want the complicated shit of having to beg somebody to be with him and only him. He needed somebody new and now.

It seemed he had been walking for hours on end just hunting for somebody that was good enough, strong enough to replace Cor. Circling the corner, he found himself back in the dormitory halls. With each step he would glance to his left and right, until his eyes finally found who he had always been looking for. Not Cor, but the perfect replacement that had somehow slipped his mind until his eyes fell on her. Lulu Allen. Anybody would admit that it was hard to miss her. She was absolutely stunning, and all he wanted to do right now was talk to her. He realized himself turning into the bitchy Arcana that somehow slipped out every once in a while, so he decide to give the door a slight knock before walking towards the beauty. He admits that he never really spoken to the girl due to Cor and himself being pretty serious back at Noctrem in all secrecy, but right now was as perfect time as any. “I’m assuming it’s fine that I come in.” He let out the smallest laugh before sitting down at her desk. Brushing his hand through his hair to get the sex out of it, he cleared his throat. “It’s been too long.” He cleared his throat as the dryness had already settled itself deep into the back of it. “How have you been, Miss Allen?” The nerves seemed to come out of nowhere, so he shook them away quickly with a flash of a smile towards the girl. “You are much prettier than I remember, so what is a girl like you doing all alone?"

Corentine Quellen

Cor remained silent as the teacher in front of her spoke, and spoke, and then spoke some more. Gods, he really liked listening to himself, didn’t he? But then, she supposed all teachers did in one way or another. Then thing was, this guy was surprising her. A lot. He was actually standing up to her, which she supposed was due to the anger and hate she could see in his eyes, and hear in his voice, and she wasn’t sure whether she was more impressed or pissed off by it. Fact of the matter was, this guy had no clue what was good for him, and it made her wonder if he was too stupid or too prideful to back down. Looking at him, though, she soon realized that his pride made him foolish. So typically male of him. He knew he could do nothing to defend himself against her, yet he continued digging his own grave. Unbelievable. The fact that he was also full of shit, was not lost on her. Had he ever listened in history class? Every successful leader ruled with fear. And it had always worked for her, too. He had no clue what the hell he was on about, this guy. And he thought he could teach her shit?

Like, oh, say, respect. Because she had so much reason to respect him, did she? She smiled wryly, looking him over. Her eyes were cold, promising retribution from his words. She cocked her eyebrows when he spoke to her about him having some kind of influence on her future. It was as ridiculous as it was astounding. See, this was why she taught people not to mess with her from the beginning; so that they didn’t get themselves into trouble with her unknowingly, but it seemed this new teacher had need of a more extensive lesson. Which really wasn’t a problem. At all. She crossed her arms casually, watching him still, eyes eerily piercing. Then he actually began walking away. He actually turned his back on her. Silly thing to do. Very silly. Turning your back on Corentine Quellen bordered on suicide, especially considering his previous words. She frowned slightly as he spoke again. Her mind had just started going over how to punish his foolishness, but was given pause when he turned towards her with a grin on his face. He had no idea how much pain he was about to experience.

Eyes narrowing immediately, Cor lashed out, strong wind tossing Chris 10 meters deeper into the forest, hitting several trees hard on her way, earning him both scrapes and bruises. Until he was finally pinned against a big, broad tree, the wind once more knocked completely out of him. Core quietly, slowly stalked towards him, her eyes dead set on him. Blades of wind began lashing at his skin; arms, chest, stomach, thighs, causing blood to ooze, and pain to set in. All the while, Cor walked calmly, eyes still narrowed on him. This was only the beginning. She continued cutting him up. The cuts weren’t deep, but there were many of them, and would feel much like lashes of a whip. What really managed to irritate her, was the fact that this gave her no satisfaction. Instead, she found herself thinking of Jay, wanting to be touching him instead. Sure, she had come out here pissed at him, but now she just wanted back in his arms, instead of wasting her time torturing his fuck. Besides, she also needed to text Erin, and figure out why the girl hadn’t texted her yet. It was a tad worrisome.

“Listen up, because I’m only going to say this once,” she told him, voice hard and unbending as steel, finally stopping the constant wind-whipping. She squatted down before him. She knew he was in a whole lot of pain right now, but she didn’t care. Didn’t even enjoy it, in fact. Actually, she only felt indifferent. Bordering on bored. “Don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’m not your typical student. You want my respect, you earn it, baby, and just then, all you did was convince me that you’re either incredibly stupid, a masochist, or some idiot with a death wish. Neither of these options inspire a lot of respect in me, you see.” She looked him over, assessing the damage. It would have to do for now. “Now, I could easily spend hours torturing you. In fact, I’d usually enjoy it quite a bit, but I have better things to do today, so I guess you’ve lucked out.” With that, the blonde got up, tilting her head slightly, cold eyes studying his face. “I can assure you that won’t be the case next time.”

Corentine took a few steps back before smirking. “Oh, and don’t bleed too much on the forest floor - it attracts so very many insects.”

Drake Quellen

Well, at least he’d got her smiling. That was all the positive stuff Drake could come up with presently. Why? Because Erin was totally calling his bluff, and he hated it. He felt annoyingly much like the joke was on him for once, and it was a disgusting feeling. How did other people live with it on a daily basis? This was the first time Drake had experienced it, and it was awful. Not that that was going to stop him from doing it to others in the future. Especially since they hardly ever registered how he was merely using them for his own entertainment. It was a part of Drake few people knew existed, really. Erin was one of them. Generally, Erin knew him a lot better than most people, and the thing was, he thought they were both closer to each other than either of them wanted to be. Because due to Erin knowing him, she also knew precisely how stupid getting involved with him, not to say trusting him, was. She knew how much of a cold, indifferent, calculating, selfish bastard he really was. Well, that was how he normally was. Every day but this day. This day was a piece of shit.

He smiled wryly as she moved and his gaze caught on her once more. Blond hair, blue eyes, smooth, light skin. He didn’t say anything in reply to her former words, because she was right, and he didn’t need to tell her that. She already knew. When she compared herself and Lulu, Drake laughed, feeling a lot better immediately. Erin had changed the air of the conversation, which was quite relieving. They were back to the more flirtatious tone again. A place he felt comfortable with any woman. He was about to reply when her lips were suddenly on his skin, and he raised an eyebrow, smiling wryly. “That’s not a fair comparison,” he teased, moving a hand up her thigh, while he pulled her closer with the arm around her, “you’ve got experience with what I like.” Her teeth then nipped his skin and he chuckled, his voice deep and masculine. All sex and seduction. “Like that,” he commented. “It’s an unfair advantage, Erin.” His voice was husky and teasing, a heady mixture very defining of the male. He was about to move them both down to lie on the forest floor, planning on a second round, when her phone buzzed and she moved.

He could feel his own buzzing too and pulled it out, checking the text just as Erin spoke. He felt a wry smile come onto his lips. For some reason, his and Jack’s nicknames to each other were still oddly amusing to Drake. They were so gay, it was ridiculous. “Jackie-boy” and “Drakey-poo”. Yeah, not really what any of them introduced themselves by, but during this past month, the two of them had actually grown surprisingly close. Well, as close as two somewhat distanced guys could get in a month. He smirked at Erin, putting his phone back in his pocket before he gripped her ankles and pulled her over to him, not saying a words until he leaning over her, his torso hoisted above her, kept up by the hands he had on each side of her head as he had forced her onto her back. “I’m offended you think I need to resort to cheap tricks,” he teased, his mouth moving down to nibble on her earlobe and the sensitive skin on her neck. “C’mon,” he murmured huskily into her ear, his warm breath dancing over the soft skin, “I’m better than that.”

Miss Amy Roerig

At first, when Leo froze, Amy bit her lower lip, nervous but not all that scared. It was only natural for him to be surprised. Hell, she had been just a moment ago. In fact, she had yet to get over the shock, and she felt an extreme need to call her mother. Problem was, she hadn’t even told her mother about herself and Leo, not wanting answer the avalanche of following questions, so if she was to talk about pregnancy, she’d have to throw her mum not one, but two bombs. And she didn’t know if any of them could handle that. Especially not considered how Leo was staring right through her, his eyes vacant, like there was no one home. His body was empty of Leo, and she didn’t like it. Shock was normal, she supposed, and she could deal with that, but this was new. She had never seen her Leo like this. Ever. And it was honestly starting to worry her. Why wasn’t he saying anything? He wasn’t even moving. No, he was just sitting there, an empty carcass, eyes void of anything.

She looked at him, her eyes wide and scared. This wasn’t normal, was it? What was he doing? What did this mean? Was he panicking? Oh gods, please don’t let him be panicking. The young nurse had no idea what to do right now. She was pretty out of it herself, so how was she supposed to calm Leo down? Amy didn’t even realize how her breathing pattern was speeding up, her heart pumping faster. She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. Calm yourself, Amy. Do what you’re best at. Focus on something else. Focus on calming Leo. Focus on getting him back. She slowly forced herself to breathe slowly, willing her heart to slow down, adrenaline leaving her body again. Gods, this had been one eventful day, hadn’t it? She wondered how the baby was responding to her stress levels. The baby. She wondered if she’d be able to tell if it was male or female soon. This pregnancy was weird, so it was hard to know anything, really. Gods, what was she even thinking? Could she keep it? She interrupted that line of thought immediately, reminding herself that she needed to stay calm.

Amy took another deep breath, steeling herself before she opened her eyes, looking up at her statue of a boyfriend. “Leo,” she said quietly, carefully. “Please say something.” She scooted closer, warily and oh so gently taking his hand in both of hers, her fingers daintily caressing the back of it. Her violet eyes were wide, still showing the worry coursing through her. What was she going to do here? “Please?” She then begged him, voice choked with unshed tears of panic and worry for him. “I know it’s weird… and… and none of it makes sense, but I can’t do this alone.” Her one hand was then gently placed on his cheek, hoping that the touch would calm him the way it usually did. “Baby, come back to me.” Her voice was soft and low, but her eyes were focused intently on his, vigilantly watching for any sign of life. She didn’t like his eyes to dead. They were usually so filled with light. Usually, they were filled with Leo. With his warmth and love for her. She didn’t recognize this, and like all other humans, Amy feared the unknown. This was unchartered territory in every way. For both of them.

She loved him more than anything, and she was going to be with him no matter what, but she didn’t know what she’d do if he asked her to remove the baby. Would he do that? She hoped not. Yet, at the same time, she couldn’t force him to watch his child grow old and die before him. She didn’t want him going through that. In her mind, there was no question that Leo would be a wonderful father, so that was in no way even a subject. The only thing worrying here were the repercussions in the future. She hadn’t even wondered if she herself wanted a baby. Her mind hadn’t had the time to think of that.
