Age: 24 (Born Decmber 19, 2023)
Ethnicity: Predominately German, Other Asian Ethnicities
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 220 lbs. (240 lbs. w/ gear)
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Black
Physical Description:
Lean and well-muscled, Ryan, while not superhuman unlike people with Augments, is certainly at the peak of normal human ability. His black hair, brown eyes, and light tan help him blend in nearly any crowd. When he's not wearing his gear, of course (Which he wears almost religiously). As a result, people rarely see his face. He has a couple scars on his chest from some situations turning ugly, but other than that nothing out of the ordinary.
Profession: STG Officer, Tachyon Engineering Experimental Division Field Operative
Skills:
Point Shooter:
A champion speed shooter in his earlier years, Ryan can acquire multiple targets and eliminate them in a rapid fashion. He has won three gold medals, and one silver. Because he lost once to that jerk, Adrian.
Jack of All Trades(And Guns):
Augmentation? Knows a little. Science? Can carry on a conversation. Computers? He could fix one. He's been around, and only recently came to The Ark. While never having stepped foot in a University (although he did do a handstand-walk through one as a dare) he is fairly intelligent, and picks things up quickly. You could say he has a degree in hard knocks. Except guns. He knows his guns. Take how much a normal person knows about guns, then quadruple it, put it through a growth chamber, then quintuple that for the heck of it.
Ghost:
Preferring stealth over open assault (although he excels at both), he tries to keep casualities to a minimum. This approach is further augmented (haha) by his gear. Ryan can silently eliminate nonaugmented hostiles with ease, and stay of the radar. (Literally and metaphorically.) He can blend into a crowd when needed. His Adaptive Camouflage helps also, furthering his supernatural status as a "Ghost".
Equipment:
Gear
(Non-weapon/Non-lethal related)
Modifiable Combat Exoskeleton:
While the MCE popularity has decreased with the advent of augmentation, it still remains a reliable choice by many field operators.
The MCE fully covers the body in a main suit and full-head helmet. The helmet includes a Heads-Up Display (HUD) with Augmented Reality and provides protection from small arms fire and blunt trauma. A Dragonskin Vest covers the neck to the groin area, protecting any vital areas. It can brush off multiple rounds from rifles and the like, while stopping even higher caliber rounds. The rest of the body is covered in high-impact quintuple-weave Kevlar. True to it's name, it can accept a multitude of accessories and upgrades, which of some Ryan has implemented. It is not powered, thus impervious to EMP attacks, but an ingenious structural design allows the user to carry around 200 lbs. It weighs around 9-10 pounds. Often stolen by terrorists, black market dealers, and construction workers.
Adaptive Camo:
While usually implemented in intra-dermal augmentations nowadays, the Adaptive Camo can be applied and exterior chassis, the MCE included. It's effectiveness is greatly diminished when it cannot be linked with the objects it's trying to hide. (i.e. normal clothes, business suits, birthday suits, etc.)
The Adaptive Camouflage System causes light to refract around an through the user, making them non-visible until extremely close ranges. It also renders the user undetectable to any Radio, Micro and Infrared wave-utilizing detectors. Anything attached to the user will also have the same effect. It can deal with short sudden movements, like climbing up or jumping down from a position or a slow jog, but cannot handle things like sprinting, extended automatic fire, or taking medium damage from any source, such as a heavy punch. When too much movement occurs, it shuts down.
It will resume when the user has slowed down to a appropriate pace. It is most effective when in low-light situations and with slow, usually crouched movement. It actually draws energy from light itself, so theoretically it could run forever, however charging systems aren't always reliable. Emergency Shutdown for 45 seconds when confronted with a EMP. Particular model exclusive to Taychon Experimental Division. Less advanced versions made by other manufacturers are used in various pranks, and in turn featured in YouTube videos.
Magnetic Vision:
The Tachyon Series IV Magnetic Distortion Viewfinder is a prototype alternative to Thermal/Night Vision. It is currently fielded experimentally by various divisions in Tachyon.
Magnetic Distortion Viewfinder shows the user any magnetic metals and alloys and/or magnetic interference caused by electronics, by highlighting such on a users HUD. This includes most Firearms, Augments, and usually anything manufactured industrially. It's range goes out to 60 meters. On it's highest setting, it can detect traces of iron in blood, although this severely drains energy reserves, and reduces the range to 25 meters. Exclusive to Tachyon Experimental Division. It also points out Magnetic North, and magnetic distortions in space, which is rather useless, but cool.
Ambient Noise Enhancer:
The Ambient Noise Enhancer does exactly what it's name says it does. Enhances noise. It's as close as you'll get to hearing a pin drop from a mile away.
An onboard CPU Enhances and raises the volume for ambient noise. Anything over 100 decibels will be blocked or reduced, such as gunshots of explosions, effectively making hearing near-superhuman with no damage to eardrums. It does this for any sounds within a 45 meter bubble, and works better in enclosed spaces. It is currently banned from civilian use in Arizona, Nevada, and Uzbekistan.
Lethal
Heckler & Koch HK417 Battle Rifle:
Made out of Aircraft-Grade Titanium, and hi-stress, heat-resistant polymers. Ryan's HK417 features a Pictanny Rail System, 30 round compact magazine, and a 20" heavy barrel. It is Ryan's go-to stealth weapon. Although the design is rather old, the HK417 still remains an operator favorite due to its', 7.62x51mm round, reliability, and really cool name.

Tachyon Situational Awareness Scope:
Essentially an upgraded ACOG scope, the TSAS (called the tee-sass by operators) has an integrated video feed that links directly to the users HUD, allowing them to peek around corners with out using visual enhancements or make single shots for cover. Exclusive to Tachyon Experimental Division. Automatic fire while in use is not suggested to users with Elipsy.
User-Only Laser Sight:
Called the ULOS (or you-loss) by operators, because it sounds cooler that UOLS (you-o-lis?), relays a virtual laser to a user's HUD that assists in aiming. Is only visible to the user, and any chosen allies. Exclusive to Tachyon Experimental Division. Currently in experimental stages, and makes interesting light shows when bored.
Silencer:
Unlike models in the early 21st century, called suppressors, this actually makes the gun silent by fitting snugly to the barrel and having a ingenious gas-capturing structure. However, it gets very hot when used with automatic fire, and operators have been known to cook bacon on it. Too crispy for most people's taste, though.
Synthetic Shells:
A relatively new advance in firearms technology (2043), the bullets fired have a Weapons-Grade, non-metallic, polymer case instead of the old brass. This maximizes velocity potential, and minimizes weapon jams. It also doesn't make that annoying *plink* sound when hitting the ground.
Remington 1100 Semi-Automatic Shotgun:
Coming far from it's original 60's design, the modern Remington 1100 features a 85% synthetic design, making it lightweight and easy to operate. Ryan's is chambered in 10 gauge, a perfect weapon for going loud and in-your-face engagements. Holds a total of ten shells. Can fire birdshot, buckshot, slugs and other various shogun shells. Packs a serious punch against even body armor, augmented individuals and ducks.

Advanced Compensator System:
The ACS includes a Barrel Compensator (similar to a sniper's), Movement Compensator (assists in hip-fire), and Recoil Compensator (stock and recoil absorption upgrades). Makes overall weapon handling and firing easier. The Barrel Compensator must be removed to include a Silencer, but who puts a Silencer on a shotgun? Called the "Compensator-Cubed" by many operators.
Shell Rack:
A rack on the opposite side of the ejection port, that holds up to ten shotgun shells. Entirely synthetic, and corrosion-resistant. Sorry, no funny quip here. (What else do you want me to say?)

FN Herstal FNP .45 Colt Select-Fire Handgun:
Complete with a long and confusing name, more commonly referred to as the TAP .45 (Tactical Automatic Pistol .45), it is accurate and can go Full-Auto at 800 RPM in a pinch. It is adapted from the earlier FNP series of pistols, made in the early 2000's. A standard magazine holds 15 rounds. Ryan's features a longer barrel, a 20 round mag, and a smiley face on the back of the slide. His main backup weapon. A lower-caliber version is common sidearm for people who can't aim worth anything. (Which is not Ryan)

Smiley Face:
Did I mention it has a Smiley Face on it?
Medical History:
No augmentations. 20/15 vision in right eye, 20/20 in left. Ambidextrous. Normal blood pressure. No medical conditions besides minor G6PD. Which means he can't take large amounts of Aspirin (no one should anyway), and can't eat some exotic Middle Eastern bean. But he never eats that Middle Eastern, anyway.
Psych Analysis:
Extroverted, friendly and intelligent, Ryan seems uncharacteristically enthusiastic from someone in his career path. But nonetheless, he always manages to get a chuckle or two from his buddies (and random strangers passing by) with his 80's one-liners and obscure references to old video games. Ryan is all-around a sociable person a gets along well with most people he meets. But whenever trouble strikes, or someone needs help, he's all business. (Although he may still say a couple one-liners.)
Ryan however, does not take his job lightly, and is careful not to abuse his position, or anyone under the influence of it. Far from a trigger-happy adrenaline junkie, and has great trigger discipline. He respects life in all forms, and mourns at the loss of it. He's actually quite sensitive with matters like this, but don't be offended when confronts saddening situations with bravado and smiles. Being as unselfish as he is, he does his best to keep other people happy, and as a result, sometimes keeps his other emotions bottled up inside him. While he does face his battles with a grin, he does value what is at stake.
Ryan does, however, say stupid things at bad times. He does this with a completely straight face, so it's slightly challenging to determine whether he's joking or not, especially with this slightly monotone conversation voice. This coupled with this other tendencies, well, he is a rather interesting person. It isn't clear whether he does this on purpose or not. Perhaps he couldn't tell you himself.
Ryan has the the mind of a warrior, determination of a bull moose, and a heart of a child that never really grew up. His tenacity coupled with his outlook toward life has made him able to meet and surpass all obstacles presented before him. Whatever comes his way, or whatever happens, know that he faced his fate with a gun, a grin, and a cliche one-liner. Overall, Ryan has more than enough fight and never-say-die attitude to place him up with the action heroes he quotes.
Personal History:
Born in Utah to a caring mother and father, the least you could say of Ryan's early life, was that it was... interesting. While he doesn't talk much about toddler and teenage years, he did start working as Corporate Security for Tachyon Engineering, and later was promoted to a Experimental Field Operator, testing out advanced, sometimes near-market ready prototypes. He has had his fair share of close calls, but has yet to have a bullet (or sandwich) with his name on it. He was sent to The Ark as a sign of cooperation and goodwill between Tachyon Engineering and the Nakatomi Corporation, and to help with joint studies and R&D between the two companies.
