Skylark Barton

The daughter of Hawkeye and Black Widow

0 · 863 views · located in United States

a character in “The Avengers 2.0”, as played by RiotTerritory

Description

Image
Lark stands at only about 5ā€™ and weighs about 98 lb. Her hair is a dark brown and her eyes are an icy blue which no one really knows who she inherited either of them from. She has four long scars running down her back [see history], and a tattoo of a hawk on her hip which she did not get legally. You will always find her wearing carefully planned outfits including makeup, hair, and clothing. She absolutely hates when anyone sees her before she is ready.

NAME: Skylark Barton

NICKNAME(S): Lark

CODENAME: Feather

AGE: 17

GENDER: Female

PARENTS: Clint Barton (Hawkeye) and Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow)

HEROWARE: She wears a brown leather jacket over a tight black tank top, black spandex pants that are laced in the back, and knee high, brown boots. She also usually carries a pistol on one thigh, a dagger on the other, and her quiver of silver arrows at her back that her father made for her.

WEAPON: Silverspeed. It is a silver bow and arrows with intricate golden designs that Larkā€™s father built for her. As her fatherā€™s arrows, Larkā€™s arrows each have a special ability and Lark knows each of them simply by the feel of their feathers. She also carries dagger on one thigh and a pistol on the other.

PERSONALITY: Lark is not a stupid girl. In fact, she is actually very intelligent. The only problem is that she never actually wants to work at all. Most of the time she is sleeping, hanging out with her friends, or practicing archery. To add to this, the work that she has to do, sheā€™ll make someone else do it (usually a man). Lark also has a very dry sense of humor which she seems to have inherited from her father. She is very easygoing unless she wants something from you. Perhaps the only time she ever gets worked-up is when she is angry.

POWER/SPECIAL ABILITIES: Her father taught her each and every trick she would ever need to know about archery, while her mother taught her everything from espionage and seducing men to shooting pistols with perfect accuracy. Other than being highly trained, Lark is just a normal human being.

OTHER SKILLS: Cooking, taking things apart and putting them back together, gymnastics

LIKES: Archery, food, beauty (makeup, clothing, jewelry, hair, etc.), art, gymnastics

DISLIKES: Work, bugs, playing nice, dirt

CRUSH: TBA

HISTORY: From the day Lark was born, she loved both her parents as much as a daughter could. Even though she always got along better with her dad, she still loved her mother very much. As her personality emerged, it was speculated by many that she was the exact opposite of both her parents. Where they were both quiet and hardworking, Lark was laidback and loudmouthed. However, the one thing that she did inherit from her mother was her seductive behavior, and from her father she got his sarcastic attitude.

Many of her early days involved going to the rooftops and shooting or simply watching and observing the people down below with her father, or walking around town and watching how her mother could get anyone to do anything for her. Many times, Lark would be left alone when her parents were called out, but she never minded. It just meant that she could go out and spend more time with her friends from school, or she could stay home and cook or practice archery.

One case in particular that the Avengers were called in about two years ago, Lark remembers sitting at home cooking pasta for herself when she heard a huge crash at the front door. When she went to see what it was, she saw her parents fending off a large alien-like creature and they didnā€™t seem to be winning. Without thinking, Lark grabbed her bow and arrows and shot an arrow tipped with a strong sedative into the creatureā€™s head. The alien reared back and as Lark attempted to run away, the creatureā€™s long claws raked down her back. She passed out after that, but she was told that she was saved by Iron Man. She still has the four long scars that run down her back.

So begins...

"Walkin' it is then," Lark said, mimicking his fake southern accent.

Zach gave a small chuckle as she copied his accent. "Alright, the away we go." he said, following her as she walked without placing too much pressure on her injured leg.

As they were walking, he noticed that everyone was staring at him while they made their way to the shop. EVERYONE was. This slightly annerved Zach, as he couldn't place why, that is until a minute later. Upon realizing this, he started breaking out into a laugh.

((OOC: Sorry guys, I have absolutely no clue how to continue this... Any ideas are completely welcome :) ))

Lark smiled up at Zach as they began to walk down the street. She knew many of the people on the street, having been on the streets so much since she had been a kid. She waved at many of the shopkeepers and looked up almost nervously at Zach as the people on streets stared at him.

Zach began to laugh and Lark raised an eyebrow at him curiously, completely clueless as to what was going on. "Enlighten me," she said sarcastically with a snort, continuing to walk alongside him.

"Enlighten me," she said sarcastically with a snort, continuing to walk alongside him.

"I just realized why they are staring at me." he continued chuckling before looking down at himself. "They probably aren't used to seeing a man with no shirt on with bullet holes in his chest." he revealed. "Let alone the fact that it's still bloodied." he added in, stretching his arms. "Oh well, unless there's a sign that says 'No shirts, no service' then I think we'll be good."

((OOC: 1.WELCOME BACK, RIOT! :D:D:D:D:D FINALLY! 2. IDK, Let's put that problem on Kenzi and see how it turns out. XD))

((OOC: I'M ACTUALLY BACK NOW. Haha the new hard drive they gave me for my computer went out in like ten seconds and then i had to go back and weight for like 4 days to FINALLY get my new hard drive. Don't ya just hate computers? P.S. Read the OOC!))

Lark just laughed at Zach and shrugged as she continued to walk. "I'd offer you my shirt but I think that'd be a bit less accepted than a man without a shirt." Lark chuckled and glanced at the shops, cafes, and restaurants they passed. They came up on her old gymnastics spot and Lark smiled to herself as they continued passed it.

Suddenly, a woman's voice came from behind them. "Not even so much as a hello. Typical Sky." Lark stopped and grinned to herself. She recognized that voice, and only one person in her life had ever called her Sky. Lark turned to see her old gymnastics coach leaning against the large building, smoking a cigarette.

"Still smokin' eh, Laney?" Lark questioned teasingly.

Laney shoved herself off the building, her long, dyed blonde hair flowing behind her. As she approached, Lark could see that Laney now had crow's feet dotting the edge of her eyes. Laney stopped and looked down at Lark, only about two or three inches higher than her. She pulled Lark into a hug and then held her back at arm's length. "You're still a little munchkin." Lark teasingly glared at her, but Laney continued anyway, "But beautiful as ever."

Lark smiled and pulled back as well. "You're lookin' pretty good yourself for an old woman." Laney smacked her playfully in the back of the head like she always used to when Lark said something stupid.

Laney smiled for a moment and then her expression changed to a sort of confused look. "It's odd that I saw you actually. Some man came by about an hour ago asking if I knew who you were."

Lark's brow furrowed and she looked back at Zach for a moment in confusion before looking back at Laney. "Did you tell him you knew me?"

Laney shook her head and then smiled mischieviously. "'Course I didn't. I haven't forgotten the all different sort of trouble you got yourself into when I was coaching you."

Lark's brow unfurrowed and she grinned widely at Laney. "Those were the days." They shared a laugh and then Lark sighed. "Well, I should be goin', but I'll see ya 'round. Maybe we can go out for coffee or somethin' or ya could help me practice sometime." Laney nodded, gave Lark another quick hug, and headed back inside the gymnastics building. Lark turned back to Zach with a smile on her face. "Old gymnastics coach," she said, pointing over her shoulder at the retreating for of the blonde woman. Lark's brow furrowed once again as she remembered what Laney had said. "I wonder who was out lookin' for me though."

((OOC: Took you long enough.... We'll need defibs, stat. We're reviving this thread!))

Zach stood there wordless as Lark and her old gymnastic teacher conversated. "Laney" as she was called appeared to be an older, blonde woman who smoked, and was apprently a good friend as well due to her prior relationship with Skylarke.

Zach's raised his eyebrow as she mentioned someone looking for Lark. Who'd be looking for the mini Hawkeye? From the conversation, it appeared as Lark wasn't a goody-two-shoes, which Zach never really thought was her anyways. Quite frankly, he didn't expect the ragtag group of super children to be so.... naughty? He could tell right away that Stark wasn't the nicest kid growing up, and he could tell that Braego wasn't either, along with his sister maybe. Banner? Well, obviously he couldn't say for sure, seeing as he didn't ever see how the kid was.

Zach found himself thinking about his own childhood. Probably the most boring out of them. Homeschooled.... learned multiple martial arts from his father as well as other masters of different styles.... his swordsmanship came from none other than "The Swordsman" as he was called. Zach didn't necessarily like his time with the man, probably due to a conflict of personality, but he didn't leave untrained.

He looked up a Lark who had just finished a conversation with her friend.

"Old gymnastics coach.

"I heard... So without further ado, lets get some coffee. I'm not sure why, but I feel like its been forever...." he mumbled the last part as he headed towards the door of the coffee shop. He opened the door, and promptly bowed politely and pointed into the shop. "After you, ma'am."

"I heard... So without further ado, lets get some coffee. I'm not sure why, but I feel like its been forever.... After you, ma'am."

Lark chuckled, did a small, joking curtsy, and stepped into the cafe. She had taken only a few steps into the cafe when she was greeted by a large, Hawaiian man standing in front of her, glowering at Zach. Lark stopped short, stumbling back a bit as the man squinted at Zach, not noticing her. Lark recognized him as the man who had worked there as a waiter while she was a waitress. Lark thought it ironic that she had bumped into Laney and now literally bumped into the teddy bear of a man, Chris, or as she referred to him, "Kiku".

Chris continued to glare at Zach as he spoke."Hey bud, I don't know what your problem is, but ya gotta get outa here," he stated angrily.

Lark only smiled a bit at him. "Eh, Kiku!"

The man finally looked down at her with confusion, before a smile spread across his tanned face. "Dat ain't my Kika, is it?" Chris asked in his heavily accented voice. Lark smiled, but didn't get to answer as Chris leaned down and grabbed hold of her shoulders, shaking her slightly. "It is Kika! Ya grown since I saw ya."

Lark chuckled. "You've grown too." Lark laughed a little bit and then pointed over her shoulder at Zach. "That one's with me."

Chris nodded with a booming laughed and looked up at Zach. "Sorry, 'bout dat, bra. If you're with Kika, ya can stay." Chris proceeded to show them to a booth near the back of the cafe. He nodded at looked over at Lark. "Coffee. Cream, two sugars." Lark nodded with a small smile back at him as he looked over at Zach. "Anything for ya?"

"Hey bud, I don't know what your problem is, but ya gotta get outa here," he stated angrily.

Zach looked at the man, an offput look across his face. "Geez, you save the world and this is the thanks you get..." he mumbled. He would've spoke up and said something, but Lark seemed to know this man too. Zachary was beginning to think he should've gone out more often. "Kiku" was this man's name, or at least that's what Skylark called him.

A big grin came across Rogers' face for just a second as he heard Kiku call Lark "Kika". This was to be used as ammunition had he the need. But, for now, he wasn't in the need for anything like that, no, he was in need for some coffee before he passed out, and he would love some.

"Sorry, 'bout dat, bra. If you're with Kika, ya can stay."

The man led them to the back of the cafe, where he showed them a booth that they were to sit at. Zach took his seat as Barton ordered her coffe. She turned to him when she was done.

"Anything for ya?"

"I'm not too picky... I'll have what she's having." he ordered. He didn't really drink coffee, as he wasn't known to get a 'buzz' from it. One of the things he hated about being super, but he'd have to deal with it.

((OOC: Sorry, I got nothing. Any of you can keep up the plot while I'm gone though. Sorry again ): ))

Lark nodded at Kiku with a smile as Zach ordered and he began to walk away. Once he was out of earshot, Lark looked back over the table at Zach. "Wonder who was looking for me," Lark said conversationally. She paused for a moment before shrugging. "It was probably my parents or something." Though Lark knew that Laney would have recognized her parents.

Lark brushed it off and placed her elbows on the table with a sigh. "So, what do ya do when you're not busy annoyin' people?" Lark questioned half sarcastically. She was actually sort of wondering what this arrogant asshole did in his freetime. "I mean I know ya simply love shootin' things, but ya can't be doin' that all the time, right?" Lark gave him a small smile and then leaned back in her seat. "Wait, let me guess. You-" She paused for a moment, thinking and then said, "You secretly love cooking." She gave him a quirked smile. "In all the movies the arrogant, tough-guy always loves to cook."

"In all the movies the arrogant, tough-guy always loves to cook."

"I can cook ramen." he laughed. "But that's about it. I either entertain myself by sparring with whoever wants to or I play video games. Great stress reliever, mind you." he looked over her for a minute, taking a second to scan her face. "So what do you do for entertainment? Shoot bows and seduce men, or is that just when you're on a mission?" he returned the question with the same smug look on his own face. "In the games, women in the good guy's team know how to seduce men AND kick ass." he then added as another retalitory strike against her.

((OOC: Arrogant asshole? What did he do to be so hated?))
