It is 2013. This is an alternate timeline where the Reconquistas lost against the Aztecs (triple alliance of Texcoco, Tlacopan and Tenochtitlan). The Tlaxcalteca were fled to the south after their defeat along with the remaining Spaniards. The Aztec empire began to flourish. In the 1600s, they had gotten support from the French and got modern education and technology from the French but also the Dutch. In 1721, the Aztec Empire was officially recognized by France as a sovereign state, followed by the Netherlands in 1723, Great Britain in 1742, the United States in 1777 and finally by Spain and its colonies in 1809. Since then the now Aztec Republic has become a powerful (both military and economy) and populous nation. It stretches from Sinaloa to Yucatan with the Republic of New Spain and Baja California to the north and Guatemala to the south.

Our story takes place in the city of Tetzapotitlan, a wonderful coastside city with skyscrapers standing next to temple pyramids. The population numbers 450,000. There are lots of sights here including the nations 3rd largest mall and one of the most beautiful beaches in the nation. A high speed train connects the city to Tenochtitlan, the nations capital. The citys population is 96% Nahuatl (Aztec), 1% French, 1% Dutch, 2% others (German, US American, Spanish, Carribean islander).
