Whyre Adreus

0 · 164 views · located in Celandine

a character in “The Beautiful Ones”, as played by TemplarWarden

Whyr Adreus

Whyr is petite and slim. Certainly not imposing, his skin is smooth as if he has never seen a hard days work in his life. His golden hair naturally falls well. Yet instead of the clean, pale skin or brown tan his flesh is smokey. Gray as if soot has replaced every pigment. His eyes are particular, shifting between subtle violet to a piercing red. In times of clam and contentment they have gone as far as a dark blue. The marks on his flesh beneath his left eye are indents in his skin.

Time passes differently in the realms forbidden to most living creatures; The places where demons and shadows are more then just phantasmal horrors. To Whyr half a millennium passed in less then half the time. Born to the Adreus clan, a secretive and unloved family, dark magic flowed in his blood. They were a small clan and grew slowly. Partly because few ever tried to reach past the boundaries society created around them, partly because of their sometimes dangerous practices. Mostly though, is their curse. The first child of each generation must be given over to the powers the warlocks drew upon; As a sacrifice and punishment. Only be returned should another member of the family chooses to surrender themselves. The curse never takes place immediately, Whyr was 98 by the time the elderitch creatures asked for him. Already the Great War had begun, the dark spell casters were some of the most powerful and most hated weapons of the elven kingdom and were called into service when things seemed most dire . The conflict had caused the Adreus clan to call upon the dark forces more often then usual and they could not afford to be weakened. For the sake of their kind, Whyr was given to the dark forces.

The war had ended the suffering of the races became more and more distant. Yet Whyr knew none of this, outside of reality time meant little and his slow elven growth was delayed even more. What happened within this realm was something no other Adreus had shared, those few that had been brought back succumbed to madness within a century or sooner if they tried to recall their sojourn into the other world. Whyr returned bearing the trademark the others had also exhibited; Not only the desecration of his body but the training and knowledge of the dark planes that even practiced warlocks could not even understand without having been there. These returned sacrifices were payments, for they returned bearing knowledge of the dark arts that to teach to their family. Yet for the young elf no family awaited, no one to claim him.
