[Name]
Nikita Mikhalkov (Russian: Никита Михалков); 'English' variant: Nikolas Mikhalkov
[Age]
17
[Face Claim]
Gaspard Ulliel

[Deafness]
76% (Completely deaf in his left ear; so he'd be 26% deaf in his right)
[Instrument]
Violin (Major) and Piano (Minor)
[From]
Norway, immigrated from Russia at some point

[Personality]
Nikita is quiet, which is a very simple fact. Generally silent with not many words to really use as a non-talkative and private person, he is reclusive and keeps to himself often, more out of independent routine rather than social awkwardness. He is best known for smiling without without much reason, a trait that the expression rather carefree and easy-going which is very present on him most of the time. Being that of an optimistic person, Nikita looks on the bright side of things and cannot be bothered by most opinions that other people give him, as he rarely gives a care towards such behavior. A very resilient person, he is quite flexible and air headed, though oblivious towards many things due to his lack of attention. Because of his progressive advancement towards complete deafness, he has gone through life with slight attention-problems, being hyper sensitive to his surroundings and subconsciously clinging onto whatever it is that he can still hear.

His love for the musical arts is hard to completely describe, as his instruments are his greatest treasures, and his usually calm and polite manner can be instantly changed should his instruments be harmed in any sort of way that he can physically see. He shows emotions very easily, and while he doesn't like to say much, often soft-spoken with a mildly-severe stutter and hints of an accent, he is quite expressive otherwise. Clumsy and poorly coordinated, Nikita is accident-bound most of the time. Often tripping over thin air or a sudden lost of balance without much of a strong enough force, he stumbles over things and is very disorganized. The only moments in which he shows fluid movement, is when he is performing, given his greater concentration that is focused on his music rather than anything.

[Background]
Born into a musical family, Nikita (although more casually called Nikolas), he was raised traditionally with violin and piano, prized and cherished musical talents in his household. His family was rather comforting, with little problem and enough money to get by. He has several older siblings in various ages, he being the 6th child. His father is a music appreciator and a businessman, and his mother, a refined piano musician, held an essential soft-spot towards Nikita who is the second-to-youngest child. His clumsiness was evident in his childhood, and the weaker immune system that left him getting ill more often than his siblings and his parents more worried about his general well fare. Nikita typically grew up quite normally, albeit many trips to a hospital/infirmary for whatever injury he got himself into. He grew up in a perfectionist environment with the bar set very high for all of his achievements to try to compete with, hence his great practice of the instrument(s) to be able to keep up to the standards expected in the household.

He had acquired his present state of deafness through seemingly common cases of otitis media(ear infections) and several bouts of common illness (influenza and chicken pox) that had been left unattended. This first started his deafness, and as he progressed through life, a head injury here or two that had damaged his inner ears due to his clumsiness, paved the way through the rest of his deafness. It's a condition that he worsened during the beginning of his earlier teenage years, where he turned up loud music high enough to truly damage his hearing because he was having difficulty hearing. He still has a faint buzzing, but has been rid of the habit. His trademark clumsiness is a general factor in his condition, and may continue to worsen his hearing, by injury or otherwise, but at this point, he's unsure if he will completely lose his hearing point blank should anything else happen. This does not restrain his musical ambition, as his upbringing has given him his love for the violin and piano.

Nikita was recommended by yet another professional medical consultant to refer him to a school where it would fit his disability and musical talents better, hence the boarding school that he is currently attending: the Beethoven School of Music.

[Other]
Nikita is bi-curious in any terms towards his sexuality, but he holds little interest towards most platonic relationships. He has begun composing on his own approximately a few years(4) ago, and has many incomplete compositions scattered about. He has great eyesight (20/20 indeed!). Is currently studying to read lips and has a limited knowledge on Signing.

The maestro clapped his hands for those who could hear it, and gestured for those already out of the vehicle to move inside. He went in first, his cloak swooshing behind him like some sort of wings, and the teachers followed. He entered into the main living room and gestured for everyone to sit down.

Serenity picked up her bags, trying to balance her carry on, and her two suitcases all at once. As she adjusted everything so she could carry it, she had to take a few quicker steps to catch up with everyone, including Damien. As they all sat around, the maestro looked at each of them in turn.

"You are here because you have a talent, but you are also deaf. Some of you maybe more than others, but you are still deaf. This great school was created by Beethoven, a brilliant composer who I'm sure you all know. Here, you will learn how to appreciate music, how to live in society being deaf, and how to compose and play music in and as an orchestra. At the end of your 2 year term here, some of you may choose not to continue for the full 10 year term, and therefore will be let out into the world to do as you please. Some of you, who do not play classical instruments, may be thinking How am I to be in an orchestra? Well, fret not, young ones. You who have not chosen a classical instrument will be given the opportunity to learn one, and everyone will have an opportunity to be in the band, which by band I mean like one of those rock and roll things that make my ears hurt," The maestro pauses in his signing so that his speaking counterpart can catch up to him. After she takes a breath and nods, he continues moving his fingers rapidly. "Some of you may think you are here to form friendships and relationships, and that may be the case seeing as I'm sure you are all mature enough to share a room with the opposite sex, but I don't want any sort of romantic nonsense ruining our chances of wining the prestigious title of Greater England's Greatest Young Orchestra for the 18th year in a row! So, be careful!"

The maestro pulls out a sheet of paper from his pocket and has one of the other teachers hold it for him. As he looks over it, he begins to sign once again. "Room assignments are as follows: Room 1- Nikolas Mikhalkov and Adele Gueren. Room 2- Aiden Markins and Isis Alban. Room 3- Elizabeth Clayworth and Gian Daniele Alfonsi. Room 4- Ty Morton and Bethany Woods, on a side note miss Woods will be arriving late due to a family emergency. And last but certainly not least room 5- Serenity Logan and Damien Rice," The maestro hands a key to each of the male counterparts in the room pairs, and smiles to all of them. After another one of his brief nods, he leaves the room.

Serenity smiles at Damien, blushing slightly. The only boy she'd ever shared a room with was her brother, but that didn't really bug her that much.

Another man took the floor and began speaking and signing. "Students, welcome. My name is Mr. Holliday, and I am the Music Appreciation teacher. Allow me to introduce my fellow teachers; Miss Marks, she teaches Music Theory; Coach, you're phys ed teacher; Mrs. Caplint, you're history teacher; Mr. Beling, maths; and last but in no way the least, Mrs. Barnes, you're English teacher. We will each help you find your rooms, and after you are settled please do not wander until we come to fetch you for your tour," At his last words and sign, each teacher found a room pair and showed them to five different areas of the house, where each of the five identical rooms were.

Mr. Holliday walked up to Damien and Serenity, smiling. "Speak or sign?" he asked in sign language only.

Serenity smiled. "I can hear, so you may speak or sign, either is fine by me. I know sign language because my older brother is 100% deaf," She spoke and signed out of habit.

Nikita tugged himself out of the limo, being one of the last ones to get out, first pausing to take in what he saw so far of the school, before quickly remembering to retrieve his violin case, his primary instrument. Throughout the entire ride, he was tense and slightly anxious to be reunited with it despite the occasional distraction as he had stared out the window. However, there were several fumbling issues as he came to get his things, seeing as his belongings weren't very distinguishable, which was what had happened at the airport as well. But they did eventually found it after looking through the luggage, and he was overjoyed to be in contact with the case that he knew was his again. As he tugged on the luggage bag onto his shoulder as well, he quickly adjusted it to a more comfortable position, before walking forward and taking in the sight of the house. Nikita paused as each vivid detail was being absorbed by his eyes, and was snapped out of it as his attention was caught by a group a various people his age and up entering into the house, and he followed behind with a slight distance.

He sat through the small speech that the oldest man there (most certainly a teacher though he wasn't too sure) gave, slightly struggling to decipher his signing because of his limited knowledge and focusing on trying to hear the speaking interpreter at the same time while he found it with ease to read their lips from the angle where he sat. He took note to further his personal studies on this. He patiently waited, mindful not to let his mind wander too far away to pay attention, and it certainly piqued when it was stated who it was that he was sharing quarters with. I don't know anyone here.. But he takes the key that the older man gave, and continues to listen until they're dismissed, the slight anxiety of having to share quarters with a stranger.

As they were all finishing up, he stood and easily showed his anxious state as he tried to search for just who he was to be paired with exactly. He was approached by Miss Marks - that was her name, right? - who he quickly remembered was the Music Theory teacher, and smiled sheepishly. "H-h-hello-o. I-I do-on't know w-who exactly I'm pa-paired with. I-I hav-haven't gotten a c-chance to speak w-with th-the other stu-students here." He signed along with his stuttering speech, but it was done shakily and awkwardly, as he tried to focus on how to exactly sign it properly.

She smiled nevertheless, nodding before clearly speaking with one of those polite teacher-like voices that he had grown accustomed to hearing in his earlier childhood, though it was slightly harder to distinguish it these days. "Hey, I'm Miss Marks, your Music Theory teacher." He didn't wish to point that he knew of this already. She seemed rather teacher friendly, with a nice smile. "Don't worry. I'm sure that we'll find Adele." She looked around to spot the girl in question, and he merely followed behind with the key in hand, careful of his steps as so to not trip. How completely nerve-wrecking..

Nikita was relieved as Miss Marks located his roommate several minutes later, quickly introducing herself to the girl with a smile still, and introduced him briefly as he stood beside her. He quickly noted that she was pale but pretty. "H-h-hello." He stuttered as he signed as well, his anxiety slowly etching away as he calmed himself to smile genuinely. "I-It's n-nice to-o meet y-you. I-I'm Ni-Nikolas."

Aiden

Aiden listened to the others around him, and paid special attention when the rooms were assigned. Rooming with girls? An interesting way to go. He thought to himself. He wasn't exactly sure who Isis was, but he figured he had better find out. They were going to room together for the next two years, after all. He had to somewhat get along with his new roommate. He stood there waiting as the chaos of finding other partners ensued. He stayed where he was, afraid that if he moved around he would never find his partner.

Sure enough, after a while a girl came up to him. ”Hi, I’m Isis. Um, are you Aiden… perhaps?” Aiden smiled down at the girl kindly and signed back to her, "Yes, I am. You are Isis? It's very nice to meet you. He held his hand out to be shaken. She was very pretty. Tan with dark hair. And gorgeous eyes.

Adele

Adele had gotten there in time to hear the old man who was her maestro begin talking about the school. It was quite a long speech, and she enjoyed it. She was grinning ear to ear as she watched his hands fly. The words he was signing were wonderful. And then she heard they would be rooming with boys. It didn't bother her much. No big deal, right? It was just a room. But with a stranger? She hadn't been able to meet anyone. But at least she would have constant company! When she heard who she was paired with, she began searching for him. She wanted someone to talk to, and she wanted to get to know her roommate.

After a bit of searching, she spotted Miss Marks, and behind her was a boy. He was a bit attractive. She was very glad she had been paired with him. She smiled kindly to the boy as she faintly heard his stutter. She signed and spoke back to him. "Hello! I'm Adele. It's great to meet you! I guess we'll be sharing a room together then. Should we go there now?" Her smile was bright and she wanted to come off as friendly, but didn't want to scare him away.

Nikolas smiled with a familiar comfort as his anxiety sank away. She had a friendly face; that was certainly reassuring. Replying back with signing with slightly more ease, he spoke back. "He-hello. Yes, w-we sho-should." Miss Marks was patiently waiting beside the two, before turning and walking her way towards their destination, speaking and signing as she kept close to the two who followed after, favoring the right side of the paths and corridors as she did. "This would be the way to your rooms, you should take note of remembering how to get back to here. Getting lost shouldn't be much of a feat, but once you get used to the idea of staying here and being here in general it will become easier to remember." She spoke clearly yet kept up with signing at the same time even if it was slightly behind in sequence with her voice.

He kept quiet, taking in the entire image of the general route, as Miss Marks calmly and briefly kept domain in the conversation to allow he and Adele to not having to come up with small talk as she guided them. It was a short trip nevertheless, and she pointed towards the room that they were assigned, "I hope you enjoy the experience here at Beethoven. There'll be a tour later, so just get settled in for now. I'll see you two very soon, before dinner hopefully. Okay? See you then." She took off with the same smile but he didn't feel as if it was forced in any sort of way. She's quite nice.

Nikolas trailed in first, holding the door quickly so the fellow companion with him would not have the door be shut in her face or be insulted by his lack of manners. "Uhm. W-would yo-you like to have first pi-pick?" He gestured towards the beds before taking in the appearance of the room itself. Placing his luggage bag beside him, he carefully shouldered off his violin case with case alongside with the bag as well. The light coming in from the window was lovely, he felt captivated by it for a few seconds before turning back to Adele. I do hope that she isn't too much of a wild character.

As they took to taking beds, he was in the process of unloading his bag slowly and neatly from habit while his violin case sat on his sheets, when there was an announcement coming into the room, ""All students please report to the dining room, dinner will be held and then tours." The voice was faint to his hearing, but he still was able to hear it's message and put down the pile of pants in his hands with a slight frown. Is it not unnecessary to have PA system for announcements when this is a specialized school for the deaf? He glanced towards his roommate, his stutter more present in his speech as he slowly signed towards her with a smile. "W-would you hap-happen to k-know where th-the dining room-om is? .. Or w-would our guide fro-from ea-earlier be e-escourting us ther-there?"

Aiden

Aiden had taken the key from their teacher and followed her to the room he and Isis would be sharing. As they made their way there, he glanced at her from time to time. She was quite breathtaking, he would admit. But he wouldn't get his hopes up, nor would he persue anything. If she wanted anything to do with him other than being roommates, then she could let him know. Besides, he had just met her. It'd be creepy to try anything other than friendship.

When they made it to the room, he unlocked the door and walked in. “Want first pick for the bed? I don’t really mind. I’ll probably end up on the floor anyway.” Aiden chuckled a bit and put his stuff on the bed closest to the door, against the wall. "I suppose it doesn't matter. Both beds are the same, aren't they?" He signed to her.

"All students please report to the dining room, dinner will be held and then tours." Aiden tilted his head to the side as he tried his hardest to hear the announcement. It was quite faint to him, but he made out the words. "I suppose we should go then, huh?" He both signed and said. "They want us to go to the dining room for dinner, then a tour." He said to her in case she couldn't hear the announcement.

Adele

Adele had followed Miss Marks and Nikolas, listening intently to what the teacher had to say. She didn't want to miss out on something important. When they made it to the room and Nikolas held the door for her, she smiled widely at him. "And here I thought chivalry was dead." She signed to him and walked into the door. "Thank you." She said to him and looked around the room. It was a nice room, two beds. She looked back at Nikolas when she faintly heard his already familiar stutter. "Uhm. W-would yo-you like to have first pi-pick?" Adele smiled at him and signed and spoke. "No, you go ahead and take the bed you want Nikolas."

Adele had taken her bed and was starting to unpack her bags, organizing her clothes on her bed. After a while, she heard an announcement faintly. "All students please report to the dining room, dinner will be held and then tours." She turned to Nikolas in time to see him start signing and speaking. "W-would you hap-happen to k-know where th-the dining room-om is? .. Or w-would our guide fro-from ea-earlier be e-escourting us ther-there?" Adele bit her lip slightly. She had no idea where anything was here. "I don't know where the dining room is, but I'm sure there are signs to point the way, right?" She said and signed back to him.

He made hard face of concentration, thinking hard on what to do. He certainly didn't wish to get lost, as such a feat is quite easy for him, and he didn't wish to be gone should a teacher come by to pick them up only to see them gone. Nikolas didn't wish to be tardy towards attending dinner, after all. But certainly Adele may be right, that could be signs about the place to point the way? He didn't say anything, slightly tired of having to speak more often than he usually did as he kept to himself (though now that he had a roommate, he would probably have to speak, (or sign, whichever it was that her primary choice of speaking) much more than he did).

Nikolas looked up from his gaze over to whatever it was that he had been looking at within his thoughts, and with a hopeful gaze, he shakily signed back, "Let's go then. Okay?" He felt awkward signing, as such a language was so choppily said and took up amounts of time if they were to have full blown out sentences of conversation, but he supposed that he just hadn't gotten used to it yet. Nikolas left a final glance towards the violin case, I suppose that I'll play it later.. Until then.

As they made way out of the room that they now shared, he glanced around the hallway, and seeing other students heading towards ways where he wasn't sure where was, he quickly noted of the lack of teacher escorts with the couples or small groups. Looking for signs that were lack of, he kept a sheepish smile as he turned towards Adele, and signed, "We do not seem to be having much luck. No signs, so far." He glanced towards the other students outside of their rooms and heading to gods-knows-where (hopefully the dining room). Perhaps they could follow after? Though he doubted if they were exactly where they were going.

He smiled, though pondered briefly on the matter of the following after. He signed back, "Yes. Well, that would be a good idea." Following after the pair in front of them as he fell into an automatic like step, Nikolas noticed the lack of conversation that he and she seemed to really have, though "talking" with others wasn't really in him, no matter if he had a lack of awareness to the 'social call', whatever that meant. Nikolas made sure that he wasn't moving too far ahead so he wouldn't leave Adele behind, not really paying too much attention to his surroundings as he would often but rather making sure that he didn't accidentally leave behind his roommate as he was prone to doing before he entered the school as a student.

Though, it would seem that he may have lost some concentration on following after the pair that they were supposed to be able to follow, but the pair had walked off too fast to really catch up to, and he fell at a lose as to what to do as of now. He turned towards Adele, a sheepish smile in apology. He was beginning to sign towards her, "I think we're really lost now." He briefly glanced around, though another presence caught his attention. Oh. Miss Marks. She waved, and came over, and briefly exchanged greetings as she began to lead them to the dining room, where they've been on the right track, sort of. As they did enter the dining room, he looked over the tables and the food that was being presented. Nikolas' stomach growled a bit, and he looked at it like it was crazy, being able to feel the slight vibration in his stomach instead of really hearing it. He must've been more hungry than he realized. Miss Marks parted with the two of them before attending to her own table of seats with other present instructors.

He glanced towards Adele again, signing to her as he stuttered though he wouldn't really mind if she didn't catch what he 'said', "G-guess we ma-made it then-en." That food was beginning to smell really right about now. Though, the lack of the presence of his violin case irked him, just a bit if by only a little.

Nikolas smiled and signed to Adele to follow after. "Okay. I would like that." Though, he noticed how her smile didn't exactly reach her eyes, and frowned as he walked forward a bit, before stopping, and gestured towards a random empty table as he pulled out a chair. "Sit." He kept his frown as she sat down and he took a seat opposite to hers, and stared at her for a couple of minutes. Trying to run through his mind as to whatever it was that could've upset her. Did I upset her, by any chance? He certainly hoped not. Nikolas glanced around the room, before looking back to his roommate, his fingers nervously tapping lightly against the table, its sound faint and almost barely there. "Adele," He signed shakily and almost nervously, the expression clear on his face. "What is wrong? You seem upset."

Nikolas kept his frown, but smiled again to try to reassure her after a pause. Though his signing was very limited, he tried to at least communicate with her as best as he could. "I miss my violin. It makes me sad when I am away from it." He made a repeated gesture of 'crying' as he mimicked tears with his fingers. He smiled nevertheless. "Do you miss your instrument?" He glance around just a bit, but paid his attention onto Adele carefully, worried. Ah, people are already going to get their food. I hope that she'll eat.

Aiden

Aiden listened as best he could to the girl. The voice was faint, but he still heard it. It was a nice sound, her voice. It had that different tone that only people deaf or going deaf had, but only slightly. But her voice was still nice, high and strong. He looked at her as she talked, watching her lips to help him know what she was saying in case he had missed something or heard something wrong. He wasn't great at reading lips, but he could catch a few words here and there, that was for sure.

"I adore fiction. It's all I read. I can't stand nonfiction. It's so... Boring. I mainly read fantasy, realistic fiction, and stuff like that. I rarely read historical fiction, but sometimes I enjoy it. Have you ever tried reading a book in verse? Like, in poetry verse?" He remembered reading Ellen Hopkins' books and loving them. He believed he had brought some with him. Maybe Isis would enjoy them.

They reached the dining room and he guided her over to a table, holding a chair out for her to sit in. When she sat down he pushed the chair in for her and went to sit in the opposite seat.

Adele

Adele sat in her chair when told to. "Thank you." She signed to him, wanting to be polite. He looked at Nikolas as he sat down. He seemed a bit upset. Is that my fault? She wondered to herself. Before she could voice her thought, Nikolas was signing to her, asking what was wrong. So it was that plain on her face? She supposed it was only natural. She was being more secluded where before she was being nice and bubbly. Adele sighed as he finished signing to her.

"No, I don't miss my instrument. It's just... I seem to be messing up already. If I had grabbed a map when I got here instead of thinking I wouldn't need one, then we wouldn't have gotten lost. If we had stayed put, I'm sure someone would have come to get us. And if I can't get directions right and I'm always getting lost, I'll never get anywhere in this school." She pinched the bridge of her nose between her fingers. "I've worked far too hard to get here to get kicked out for being late all the time." She looked around the room and saw that people were already eating. Great. They were late too? "Do you want to get something to eat?"

Nikolas' frown came back, though much more out of confusion and inability to understand her seemingly complicated little problems that brought stress to her, but he nodded nevertheless as he fell back into a hopeful and attempting to be reassuring smile, standing up to retrieve their own meals. "Yes." The naturally-born Russian kept his eye on the shorter female, something that was natural seeing as he was a bit of an awkward giant. He settled on something small to eat, such as a roll of bread and a thin broth of soup to accompany it. While the other foods that he could've had taken to fill were quite appealing in terms of appearance, he had little appetite as he was accustomed, but tried to fill his plate as best as he could, adding in some potatoes, tomatoes and bits of beef that came with soup. He wished to tell her that she was taking unnecessary burdens on herself from what she said earlier, and that getting lost isn't her fault, that she is merely overreacting. He kept silent until they made back it to the table.

Before he began to ear, he tried to keep eye contact with Adele while trying to get her attention, attempting to sign some words of reassurance. "Do not be so stressed. It is not your fault what happened earlier, I get lost too." His careless hand had the spoon that was resting on the plate, somehow fly off in the air, he almost didn't notice if the spoon's metal coolness hadn't touched him lightly. He bent over to pick it up quickly, taking napkin to clean it. It was seconds long, before he looked back up to his company. "It relieves me when friends my are content. Smile." His own smile widened a bit to help encourage her, napkin still in his hand and unaware of the careless mistake that he made. Adele seemed like a rather nice girl, though a bit low self esteemed.. but could have been the stress that she appeared to be riddled with. He let his soup begin to cool in the generally quiet dining room, where it would make sense how silent it was, given the location of where they were, but was faintly aware that there were people in this room as well and were off doing other things and making sounds that he could barely hear at all.

Aiden

Aiden smiled as he watched Isis sign to him. Ah, finally, someone else who enjoys such things... He thought to himself. When he saw the sign for a familiar book title, he perked up even more. He was getting a bit excited, liking that this girl was like him as well. "I've read Impulse. An Ellen Hopkins book. I've also read Crank, Burned, and Tricks. All very good books. I do believe I brought some of them, if you would like to borrow some. Ellen Hopkins has been the only author that I've read that writes in verse. She is really good at her writing. As for whether or not I prefer the books written in verse... Well, I'm finding that I actually do. I write my own poetry as well, but it's a bit... Dark." He finished up and slightly chuckled, shrugging his shoulders a bit.

Aiden looked around and noticed that everyone was getting food. "I assume you are hungry. I'll go get us both food. What do you want?" He asks her. "And no, You don't need to go and get it I'll get it for you. I don't mind, really. I want to." He gives her another small smile. "And we can continue our book discussion when I get back. I just need to know what you want."

Adele

Adele had gotten up when Nikolas did without a word. She seemed to have scared him away a bit. She chewed her lower lip a bit, fidgeting with her fingers a bit. She follows him to the line where they were serving food. She grabbed a plate and put a small amount of salad on there and a small bowl of fruits and vegetables (celery, grapes, raisins, and carrots) then a water bottle. She waited for Nikolas to finish filling his plate and then sheepishly followed him to the table again.

She had just been about to eat when she saw Nikolas trying to get her attention, then signing to her. She shrugged at his words, not really sure what to say. She couldn't just turn off her stress. It was just always there. When she saw him smile, though, she couldn't help but smile back. He had a nice smile. "Thank you Nikolas..." She signed to him. "You're really nice. And you have a nice smile too." She smiled back at him again and started eating her food, sitting up straight as she ate out of habit.

He followed her lead as she began to eat, knowing that she cut off their conversation here and smiled a bit wider. At least she smiled.. That's a good thing. The Russian had at least hoped that she could try smiling a bit more. It was a lovely smile; reminded him of white daisies. Taking the spoon after rubbing the napkin over it several times to ensure that it wouldn't be incredibly dirty, he then calmly without a smile ate. He slouched if only a bit, delicately taking quiet sips and chewed slowly, the notion familiar from his childhood. Nikolas couldn't seem to shake the habits that Mother left in him, though he supposed that it merely meant that she was a good mother. Does Adele have a good mother? Ah, conversation material to bring up some points in time later.

Silence seemed to stretch between him and Adele, as they quietly ate. He never 'spoke' whenever he was supposed to be consuming a sort of food source, so he didn't try to bring up anything else. As he got through half of the soup, leaving few chunks of actual nutrition and a moderate amount of soup, he brought the napkin to his mouth to clean it of any mess as he placed down his spoon. His roll of bread had at least an eighth left, untouched as he finished up his last few sips, leaving the meal not fully finished. Nikolas neatly placed the stained napkin beside the plate's other contents. He sat still, unsure as to what to do as his hands fell back to rest on his lap, lifting his head to at least be on level to looking at Adele, not making it any less awkward. He watched with little attention. Gog, he desperately wished to get back to their room (it make him slightly panic at the thought, being unfamiliar to the concept.. 'their room') so he may go back to playing his beloved violin. His left leg began to shudder as he rapidly tapped it against the floor quietly, becoming more anxious as his eyes began to wander around to try to focus on something.. anything.
