Personality: Owen's a sardonic, cynical, hard drinking man, but with a strong sense of humor and love of good food. He is willing to offer his services to the highest bidder and does have a sense of personal justice that he strictly adheres to. He despairs over the corruption around him, but can slip into the seediest places by virtue of his ability to talk his way in and out of most situations. He's average with a gun and because he's so out of shape, he's not particularly fast or skilled at running, though his strength makes him a decent fighter if need be.

Historical Background: Mitchell was born outside of Chicago, but moved to the city in his 20s. At first a well regarded police officer, he was thrown off the force when it came to light that he'd been accepting kickbacks for his services. Rather than leave town or his chosen career, Owen opened up his own office as a private detective. He spends a lot of time at Buca where he mostly flirts with waitresses and indulges in his love of good food. He knows that the Occheto family is dirty, but has stated "It's not his problem", because he's never been hired to investigate the family. Unmarried and living alone, he is bitter about the death of his high school sweetheart 18 years ago. One day she just showed up dead in the streets, shot 4 times. He believes that she was executed and will stop at nothing to find her killer.
