The Black Days

For years, vampires walked the earth among the humans, blending together as one, separate species that understood the need to share the land they'd been given from one power or another. But just as humans began to grow and learn, use animals as their food source, find men stronger an more worthy than women, the vampires began to do the same.

The two races turned on each other. The vampires rose above the ranks of the humans, placing themselves not only at the top of the food chain, but also labeling themselves as beyond human. Gods. Worshiped.

Chaos insured.

Now, the human kings have made a pact with the vampire emperors. They've divided the lands, leaving the forests to the vampires and everything else belonging to the humans. The vampires protect the humans in need of extra guarding, while the humans agree to pay blood taxes to the vampires. However, if ever a human should find himself inhabiting the forests, even for just a moment, they are free game for the vampires.

The humans allow the vampires to mingle with the them on certain special occasions. Most notably balls, dances, and other royal gatherings. The only rule is that their identity must remain hidden and that they cause no harm to the humans. However, even with the most strict of rules in place, curiosity has always had a tendency to kill the cat.

Between these two fighting races emerged another, one the humans feared and the vampires loathed: lycans. Viewed as a lesser race by either for their respective reasoning, the lycans were banished to the land south of the Great Moutains, a desolate and empty land craved by neither human nor vampire.

Outraged by their status, the lycan's are rarely ever seen...at least for what they are, and slink along the shadows of either race with very little limitations...

VAMPIRES

Immortal, invulnerable, superhuman. They have fangs, and must drink blood to survive.

• Some vampires may have more special traits, such as: mind control, weather control, control over animals, shadow manipulation, invisibility, telepathy, mind reading, dream manipulation, ect. However, these also come with their own set of weaknesses.
• They do have weaknesses: Must be invited in to human owning property, sunlight is lethal--as is a stake through the heart and fire. Garlic and other religious artifacts are repulsive, but not necessarily dangerous.
• The vampires can only change a human by drinking them almost to the point of death, then the human participant must drink some of the vampires blood. Always remember the stronger the vampire, the stronger the changeling. NOTICE: vampires may not just change humans. Both parties must have consent from each other and from myself. Vampire's can't kill humans or lycans without consent from each other and from myself.
• Vampires feeding on one another is forbidden, (not to say it doesn’t happen), except for those of royal blood.

Their class system:
Pure-Blood: Those born into vampirism by two sets of vampire parents. They are the strongest, hardest to kill, and generally the crudest because they have no sense of human life--despite being considered "alive" themselves. The only liquids in their bodies are blood, so thus when they sweat or cry it's, well, blood. They are considered royalty and are held with the utmost respect and pretty much hold the society together. They are truly immortal but are the only race that can breed with every other.

Changeling: Humans that were changed by other vampires, either against their will or not. They are not alive, and thus their bodies do not act as if they are. They cannot breed with any other vampires except for pure bloods, and fall under the more traditional myths.
[UNLIMITED] Vitirce Cold Rose Longheart

Hybrid/Half-Blood: A half-human, half-vampire mix breed born of a vampire and human parentage or of a human woman who was bitten during pregnancy. These vampires actually have a beating heart, though at a much slower rate, and a low body temp. They can live off human or vampire means, and can survive the sun with minimal discomfort, but they are also weak to human weapons as well. They have the most respect for human life, but often feel as if they are straddling the balance and don't really belong. Romantic relationships between humans and vampires is frowned upon, and usually exist in an outcast or mistress type situation. Hybrids themselves are looked down on in the society. They are not immortal, though they can wildly outlive humans.

HUMANS

Select few who, for one reason or another, are "special" enough to have an insight...or not.

• They are not magical beings
• They fall weakness to illness, natural disaster, and old age
• Humans may not just change to a vampire or lycan. Both parties must have consent from each other and from myself. Humans can't kill (*cough*yeah right*cough*) vampires or lycans without consent from each other and from myself.
• Despite how the other two races view them, they see themselves as the 'dominant' and 'natural' race. Therefor, unless appointed by the royals (and even sometimes still), their involvement with the other races is frowned upon.

Their class system:
Royal: A human of royal parentage who is highest in the social ladder and generally always surrounded by large groups of people. Depending on how they were raised, these few may or may not know about the 'special races'. They are the rarest of the human breed.

Commoner: A normal human who is not of royal status or have any other seemingly 'special' trait about them. They are usually very poor and may work for the royals in one form or another, either as servants or as soldiers.

Pet: Generally taken as small children and raised amongst vampires. They are a sign of prestige and their experiences range from good to bad depending on their situation. Some pet's were kidnapped, sold, or orphaned. Politeness of their masters vary, and they are often seen as property. Unclaimed pets can be auctioned, an action that is considered 'illegal' but happens more often than not.
[ON HOLD] Feronia Breen The amount of pets are directly proportional to the amount of vampires. A pet must be owned before being allowed to play.

Donor: Select few humans who are employed by the royals to done their blood to the vampires in exchange for their keeping the peace. They are protected by the human royals and generally very well cared for, though their status is somewhat demeaning.

Freshie: Humans who became addicted to the bite for whatever reason. Some were once donors or just happened to be taken into the vampire society. They are very rare, coveted, and extremely well taken care of. They generally prefer sexual relationships with vampires, at least long enough to earn a bite. Some are owned, others circle the society. If not owned by an individual they are usually generously compensated. Because they run the highest risks by being willing to push vampire control, they are also the best treated humans in the vampire society.

LYCANS

Individuals who change between man an wolf, with senses that surpass either

• Very strong and fast with enhanced senses. Weaknesses: Decapitation, removal of the heart, and silver. Silver without being touched is only repulsive, as is the herb wolfsbane.
• Due to constant regeneration of their bodies, they are immune to aging and sickness...until they remain in one shape for too long.
• A scratch from a Lycan can cause extreme fever, aches, and chills. The senses can become aggravated and hallucinations often occur. Symptoms can last anywhere from three days to months or even cause death.
• Lycans may only change humans by an infected bite. So long as the infected human does not taste blood by the end of the full moon, they will become a human again. NOTICE: lycans may not just change humans. Both parties must have consent from each other and from myself. Lycan's can't kill humans or vampires without consent from each other and from myself.
• Only Alpha males are allowed to breed, not to say that it doesn't happen between others on occasion.

Their class system:
Alpha: There is one that runs the pack. They are men, the strongest and the fastest of the pack. They are 'pure wolves', meaning born from original blood. They have the will to change whenever they please—pain free—but most often still choose to change during the full moon--feeling a strong connection to it.

AlphaMega:: Wolves that are born from the Alpha and thus carry their blood (they can also be siblings to the current Alpha). They are just as strong as the alpha's and are 'pure' children, who will either grow to be an alpha themselves or run near the head of the pact. They have the will to turn whenever they please—pain free—but do not earn their gifts until puberty.

Beta: These wolves have been bitten by an Alpha or AlphaMega lycan and are thus considered to be 'theirs'. They will most likely be forced to mate with their Alpha/(AlphaMega) and produce a strong bloodline. There is a complex connection between Alpha/(AlphaMega) and Beta, often spiritual, and an Alpha/(AlphaMega) my not harm a Beta without harming his or herself. They must change on the full moon, but otherwise have control over when they phase—however, from being human born they feel pain in the transition.

Omega: These wolves are either cursed by a magical being or are bitten by a Beta. They are completely slaves to the moon and their own emotions in either form, and feel pain every time they phase. They are the lowest of their own rank.
