It wasn't an uncomfortable cage, as it was covered in the soil of the forest he holds so dear. The Forest dweller looked out through the bars in curiosity, anger, and worry all at the same time. What will happen to his beloved home now that he's away from it? Why is he here near the places where other two legged animals like him dwell? More importantly, where is the guard that confiscated his only link to looking for his own family?
He turned to look at the large wolf that got shoved in the cage with him, as he didn't want to leave without her. "One wonders where we are Eclipse, and more importantly, what to do to get out of this or be more comfortable? What do the two legs want with us?" He asked his companion using the language of wolves. "I mean, has one given offense to the two legs? Or do the two legs want something One has?"
---
Meanwhile the soldier that was bearing the forest dweller's blade to the captain of the guard. The sword was a blade that seemed to shine a silver-steel shine with it's wolf like seal at the top of the pommel side of the hilt, and with strange elvish runes in a language the soldier couldn't interpret, but he hoped his captain would... being another member of the Forest Dweller's kind.
He opened the door to the Captain's office and saluted. "Captain Droto, we have the forest dweller, but... it isn't as bestial as we thought it was. It seems to look a lot like a Dark Elf sir. He had a dark elvish sword with him... I thought that you could interpret the blade's runes and see what kind of sword it is... I mean aren't swords like this a Elvish clan sword?" The soldier asked timidly as he felt himself shaking in his boots. The captain was to him, an intimidating man.
Still, her vocabulary wasn't that big. "Eclipse do not know. Two legs speak of your sword. Two legs not understand runes. Eclipse no make eye contact, Eclipse hear no thoughts," she said, slowly, thinking out each word before they passed her lips. She stuck her head out again, but the man the man who was talking about the blade was no longer there. She could see the door which he had entered. She turned back to Locien. "Why us captured?" she asked.
Three hours ago...
Battle groaned as she lifted her hand to her head. She pulled it back and blinked a couple times, having problems with the fact that it was blood. Her clothes were still intact which was good, but her sword was missing, thus causing her to panic before whispering out the name of her sword. "Luna?" It was a harmless word, yet held full of meaning to her. At once in a dark corner of the pit, a light began to glow and blink as if yelling out for help. Battle dragged herself to her sword. Lifting it carefully, she inspected it for any dents, but finding none she lifted it and held it up. The light showed her where she was, and at once dread and anger began to flow through her veins. She was in a very very deep pit.
Battle suddenly remembered where she was. She had been leading a small group of her Master's army to attack a small village. Only, it had been a decoy with real soilders inside who had twice the force they had. She didn't remember how she got into the pit, only that her men were gone, and she was the only survivor.
Battle then began to claw herself up into a standing position, holding onto the dirt walls to keep from swaying. She had a concussion, and a headache that would slow her down. "Got to get back." Just as she spoke the words to herself, she heard people coming her way. Anger was all she felt when they came to look down upon her with their weapons and lamps. It didn't take long, but it seemed the soilders were specially trained in this. One of them held a pipe to their mouth, and small whoosing sound echoed through the pit before a dart hit Battle in the shoulder. She instantly saw red, but it became a simmer as she drifted into sleep.
Present time...
Battle blinked open her eyes. Blurred images came into her head, but it wasn't enough. She rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand before blinking them open and seeing... A massive wolf. Her hands imediately sought out Luna, but then... Her hands were tied behind her, and she was... Sitting on a horse? She hadn't realized that she was moving until after seeing the massive wolf. She looked around herself. There were soilders, and... There! Her sword was on the back of a pack mule a few yards away. It's glowing light was gone, weakened from being away from it's owner.
Battle rolled her shoulders slowly, closing her eyes and slumping her form when a soilder noticed movement in the corners of his eyes. Then acting as if was sick and hurt she flipped herself off the horse. The breath whooshed out for her, and she saw stars for a moment, but she was rolling and on her feet in seconds. She gasped as her head began to ring and boom. The soilder came forward and tried to grab her. She growled, seeing red. She pulled her knee up high when the soilder got closed, right into his chin. Using her head, she head butted him and kicked him away. Her nose began to bleed. She was running for her sword, when they tackled her from behind. Too many for her to focus and really fight. They tied her up again, and made her walk behind the horse this time. A rag was in her mouth, and her arms were tied a little tigher. Her hair covered her face as she let herself be half-dragged, and willingly half-walk after the soilder's horse.
He heard the door swing open and a soldier stepped in holing a sword. "Captain Droto, we have the forest dweller, but... it isn't as bestial as we thought it was. It seems to look a lot like a Dark Elf sir. He had a dark elvish sword with him... I thought that you could interpret the blade's runes and see what kind of sword it is... I mean aren't swords like this a Elvish clan sword?" Astrice took the sword and looked it over. It was definitely elvish in nature but the runes were past his usual enchantments. "Hm the runes dictate ancient enchantments, older than what I have studied I will have to talk to the beast to see what they mean." he said going past the soldier. "I am going to find Lady Tia and see if I can talk to him alone." he said strongly and the soldier simply nodded.
"I think that you have gotten yourself a very nice place here, but the war isn't necessary you have such a nice home now better than somethings that have happened in your life" The old man moved a pawn looking at the board "Besides both sides of the board have their tricks the Kingdom of Serin have their new weapon to help them you have your army the question is what is more powerful? Your army of this weapon of theirs?"
Elindor stood up and smiled "I believe that this is one adventure that will not be forgotten anytime soon and I believe if they do forget something will remind them about it. Even if they win this war by the end of it I should have my real goal done" he smirked and left the room
"General prepare a small group of your best to attack one of the smaller cities closest to our borders but don't attack for a week or so also do not go yourself" The general bowed and left the room "The board is set the pieces are in place it is time for this game to begin"
She knew it just a matter of time before one her maids came up to her tower to report the return of these heroes, who perhaps really saved the Kingdom of Serin.
Tia sigh as she thought about the current war, it seen so surreal as one moment she was with her parents and before she knew it, it was her coronation followed by the dark start of war.
Tia knew this fabled Forest Dweller was the only weapon she had against the demons from the enemy's side and had done extensive research on him, all of it turning out negative results. But here he was with a majestic wolf by his side.......
Knock Knock
"Who is it?" Tia asked as she looked up from her previous view of the city
"Your Majesty, Captain Droto has come to report some news" came a reply from the other side of the door.
Tia was perplexed by the Captain sudden visit for it most mean they found something else allow with the Dweller, something ancient.
"Come In"
Locien sighed as he looked out again as his mind slowly went back to that time, the only real memory of his true clan, his Mother's final lullaby. He slowly opened his mouth and tried to sing it in the common language. "W-we, are free, like water flow. We are o-one, as we feel.. love?" he tried to sing out in near common tongue of all mortal races. But try as he might Locien couldn't figure out the rest of his mother's final lullaby and howled in frustration.
"This is ridiculous!" he exclaimed again in frustration. "Every time I try to figure that song out it fades Eclipse, fades! And whats more the two legs will think I was trying to utter some ancient forest spell upon them. Ah Fel, I've probably made the situation worse." He started to bow his head but his nose started to twitch as he then sniffed the air. "I smell something Eclipse, some kind of scent... can you make it out?"
Adrenaline began to course through her veins, but Battle began to growl at her onlookers. Without thinking, she tried to quicken her pace to at least startle the horse into running and throwing the rider off as she mounted the beast. It probably wouldve worked ff she didn't have a concussion or wasn't seeing stars. Muttering out a curse, she tried to think of her past lessons on using magic, or was it runes? Runes and magic weren't her strongest skills, but fighting in combat and war? That was her specialty.
"Alright Battle this is to help you if you ever need magic to save you from trouble. I'm going to teach you an illusion spell something that will make others run from you or think you to be dead as long as there isn't a mage around you everyone will think you burnt yourself alive."
Elindor stood up and a fire surrounded his body he let out a scream, after a little while the fire went away and Elindor wasn't hurt "This is a cloak of fire that will not hurt you or anything else but it will help you get away from others. Be careful when you use this spell if you say it wrong then it will burn you the magic words are..."
The memory went away and Elindor smiled "Battle it is up to you to remember the words that I taught you" He stood up and walked back into the room with the chess board the Old Man gone "It would be a shame to lose you" He picked up the Queen piece "You are after all my strongest piece on the board" He set the Queen down and the General walked into the room "General I want you to send a messenger to the Kingdom of Serin make sure its a human I want him to be able to get in with no trouble. The message is this."
"Please send help our village has been threaten by demons who are camped outside of our town we don't know when they will attack but we are certain that they will destroy us. Some of our men tried to leave before and get help from other villages but they were killed when they left our village. We don't even know if this letter will make it to you. Our city is running out of food and fast, We need your help and soon"
"Yes sir it will be done right away" The General bowed and left the room the Old Man appeared and looked at Elindor
"Why would you send a group of demons to a village then send for help for that same village?"
Elindor smiled and looked at the Old Man "Lets just say this is mostly a win-win situation, if they do what I think they will if they don't then that village will be no more"
The Old Man raised an eyebrow "What do you mean if they do what you think they will?"
Elindor left the room "Exactly that"

"Hey girl-y." The words slipped out of the soilder's teeth like honey, slow and steady. The smell of whiskey, and something close to clover entered her nostrils as the man leaned to the side of his horse. The animal was odviously used to carrying drunk men for it didn't react to the sudden tilt in cargo, and the way the rider leaned from side to side precariously. Battle glared at the man as he leaned closer to her, showing her crooked yellow teeth. Must have gotten carried away with the after-battle spirits, she thought. She looked away, trying to ignore the Soilder as he began to talk of her slimness. Disgust, and irritation was written all over her face as she tried to focus on the details of... other things but the soilder.
