a character in “The Branded”, as played by blacksky

Description

Name: Leon k. Parthos

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Personality: A calm and humorless young man, Leon doesn't take life nor the things within it to seriously. Although when the time comes he becomes much more serious and focus on the task at hand, mostly when in active duty does Leon harden up. Other than that he is careless as can be, sometimes coming across as arrogant and ignorant mostly to those who criticize his nature in the first place. Leon is also every open and talkative constantly talking about personal things or just random things.

Appearance: Standing at about 5'11 with tree bark brown hair down to his shoulders. Growing slight facial hairs around his chin, appearing like small whiskers. Leon has light brown tannish skin, with a pretty tough body build since he focuses on his physical power just in case magic can not come in handy. From all his physical training his hands and feet became much more rough and stronger, giving him the look of a athletic blacksmith. Dressing in his military gear, a black silk tunic covered by dark leather body armor covering his chest, shoulders and stomach. Along with Leather armor covering his legs.

Brand's Appearance: A single brand placed upon the forearm, a jagged "s" making up the form of the brand with a crossed "x" behind it.

Brand's Effects: His brand greatly increases his control over water. Allowing him to draw the moister from the atmosphere to form tides of water from thin air. Along with this he can control the tempature of the water making it go from room temp to freezing to boiling hot.

Alternate Form: Transforms into an aquatic beast. Decorated with beautiful silver-white scales covering his body fully with the exception of his face and hair. Growing gills, feet transforming into claws with deadly talons attached, hands becoming the same but still equipped with five fingers including the thumb. A large razor sharp shark fin sprouting from his back, and smaller fins along his forearm and calfs.

Weapon(s): A three foot long trident with five points instead of three, keeping the points always clean and sharp through constant maintenance and repair. Leons brand is also decorated along the handle of the trident with a black and red coloring to the sliver base of the weapon.

Magic: hydrokinesis/Cryokinesis (Manipulation over water and ice)

History: Many men would have thought Leon was born from the sea and of demonic origin from the way he looks and because of his control of water. From this assumption they were right and wrong at the same time. It was around the crack of dawn when Leon was born into this world the history of his parents were uncertain for they died soon after his birth. For his father took him and his mother upon a ship heading to the capital of Gar, after the third day upon the sea a raging storm came across the deck of the ship destroying the sail and continuing to sink the ship within a matter of minutes. Leon's father took him and jumped over board with him. Holding on to a piece of drift wood to stay a float, and for two days they drifted on the sea before washing up on shore. Washing up on a large island being found by the natives before passing away, Leons father gave them is final words to his son as he died.

By the time Leon started to walk, he also discovered his profound control over the waters. As he noticed so did the natives, that became his family and under the shaman of the village he learned how to control his powers even better. "Become one with the water and the sea" The words that sunk into his head as he began to train , constantly swimming to gain a even stronger feel for the flow of the water. To become stronger he would have to be as fierce and calm as the sea, words that also stuck out to him. By the age of twelve Leon had a great control of his power, and he also had a family becoming inducted as the shamans own sun. Finding a old trident on the shores of the beach while he went out for his morning swim and taking it back home after it was over to find a group of bandits attacking the village. The shamans head on a stake while the bandit leader laughed as he barked orders to his underlings, as the tears dripped down his face a fury built up in his gut as he gripped the trident and charged forward launching it through the mans chest and summoning a large tide crushing four of the bandits.

A cold feeling washed through him as he killed them, and the water he controlled slowly froze as he slammed it into another man. And after the intense battle the village was left in ruin, woman children and the elderly were left dead. Walking to the lifeless body of the shaman a vision struck him, of his origin and where his real father wanted him to go. Leon from then on traveled through the country side until he arrived in the capital of Gar, enrolling in a military academy like his father before him. climbing through the ranks and becoming a solider within years, and on his 19th birthday he would be sent on the mission that would change his life forever.

So begins...

Lucius watched the cart hurtle away down the dirt and gravel path, leaving the soldiers alone on the moors. Lucius had been given the map of the moors by Colonel Sanderson, which was now in his pocket. Lucius removed the map from his pocket and unfolded it. It was a crumpled, A3 piece of papyrus with the layout of the moor drawn on it. There were 4 points marked onto the map, a now deserted hamlet that was slightly to the north, a tarn to the northwest, a valley to the east and a cave to the northeast. Lucius wondered how long it would take to go round them all. It was obvious that their first destination should be the hamlet that had supposedly been destroyed by monsters. But before anything else, he should introduce himself to the group, they would need to work as a team, and wouldn't be able to if they didn't know each other.
"I don't believe that I have introduced myself yet." Lucius announced to the group, "My name is Lucius Silver, son of the late Sebastian Silver. And what about the rest of you? If we're going to be working together, we should know who we're working with."

"Oh for Luna's sake..." the Serpent scowled as he attempted to get the door to budge, but to no avail.
However, after another few seconds he managed to ram the door down with his shoulder. He stepped into the ransacked cottage, surveying the scene that the monsters had left. Blood was spattered everywhere, the furniture was smashed to smithereens and the walls had multiple holes in them. The Serpent inspected the blood, it had separated some time ago. The house had an attic, so it shouldn't be to hard to hide and wait for the soldiers.
"Right you lot, get in the attic and seal the door shut. I'll make sure the soldiers go where they're supposed to go. You four watch out of the window and make sure you're not seen. If they realise it's a trap or see you, knock them out, kidnap one of them and take him or her to the cave. I'll leave them a message so they know what to do. However, I don't want that happening so make sure to monitor their behaviour at all times. And remember, DON'T kill them!"
With that, the Serpent opened the hatch leading to the attic and pulled down the ladder, gesturing for them to climb up.

Having spent the greater portion of his journey to the moor via a cart, Leyawin was more than happy enough to finally arrive at their destination. Stepping off the cart with the unmistakable ache of having sat in one spot for too long, he immediately threw out his arms in a stretch. Following this he began to survey the area. It was quiet, at least… Whether that was a good thing or not had yet to be determined. Monster sightings… the first real mission he was assigned as a soldier for Gar. A short pause followed before one of his comrades spoke. He introduced himself as Lucius, providing a small amount of detail about himself in the process. It was what he said after his introduction that interested Leyawin, however. I suppose he’s right… Leyawin thought. In order to properly function as a group it’d be better to know a bit more about eachother…

“… Leyawin de Geldor of the Geldor Family of Elevar.” He spoke elegantly but without arrogance. After all, he may have pride in his lineage but he was raised to hold equal respect for all creatures.

Annie had jumped off of the cart even before it had come to a full stop, though she landed gracefully and silently on the dirt. She stood cautiously for only a moment before straightening herself. The girl was young, and looked even younger, and this only added to how eager she seemed. Finally, a chance to prove herself, a chance for real adventure! No more dealing with these common street criminals; real monsters.

"A Geldor?" she said, though not harshly. She took a moment to observe the Leyawin and then continued on, "My name's Annie. Nice to meet the team!" she chimed in her high, honey-like voice, seeming untouched by the sheer seriousness and formality of the situation. Not always, but on occasion, there were whispers and unfounded gossip that sometimes accompanied her family name. She did not intend to take that chance and set that off.

She observed the other soldiers with her, her eyes flickering from detail to detail, person to person, taking in their faces. Some of their faces seemed vaguely familiar, as if she had known them long ago, but she knew this couldn't be right. She pulled her bow from her back and held it in her left hand, letting her hand find the position it had been in, so many times before.

Calmly pushing himself off of the cart as it came to a complete stop, taking in the atmosphere gazing at the many people passing distracted by the look of the town he had just arrived in. Reflecting back to when he was assigned to the mission, "killing monsters... just like killing stronger bandits" were the words he spoke to his comanding officer with a grin clasping his hand on the mans shoulder laughing as he departed. But it was for real Leon would be sent with new comrades to finish off a group of monsters sighted, shaking off the feeling as the blond haired man spoke. "My name is Lucius Silver, son of the late Sebastian Silver. And what about the rest of you? If we're going to be working together, we should know who we're working with." I suppose I should introduce myself Leon said to himself but was quickly cut off by Elf when he spoke. "This must be serious" again Leons thoughts flashed, and with the apparince of a Geldor he was alarmed with the severity of the task at hand. Composing his mind while another introduced herself as Annie, dropping all formalities with her tone and speech.

"Well then it is ample time to introduce myself, I am Leon Kenro Parthos. Son of the departed Dracus Parthos." Leon spoke clenching his teeth a bit as he spoke of his fathers name and with a shake of the head he continued "It is nice to meet all of you and may our mission go well." and with a smile he reached his hand out to Leyawin greeting the elf with respect.

Annie's energy seemed to seep into the air; contagious. She fidgeted, shifting her weight from left to right, and then back to left soon after. It was this warmth; she loved the sun. It was probably what made her like this, like her emotions came and went with the wind and the rain and the dirt and the moon. Now and then, it seemed somewhat ill-fitting in this environment.

"Well then... Shall we maybe look around?" she asked her comrades.

They didn't seem to fit each other either. Their hair; tangles and curls of blonde, black, or silver, long or short, slid through the cooling breeze. Their faces, heights, backgrounds, even the way they wore their uniforms, all denoted a ragged band of strangers more than a tight knit group of soldiers. No, communication wasn't there strong suit, it seemed, and as far as being on the same level as each other, they had a long way to go.

She slid her right shoulder out of her uniform overalls, switched her bow hand temporarily, and then slid her left shoulder out as well. The two straps fell to her hips; apparently, as over-sized as the overalls seemed, the slack picked up at the waist, tight enough to keep it there.

It was the hamlet that interested Annie the most.
