Neithan

God of Madness, Sin, Darkness, Death, and Fire

0 · 501 views · located in Reality

a character in “The Celestials”, as played by Fabricator

Description

Name: Neithan
Titles: Fëanturi (Master of Spirits), Doomsman of the Celestials, Keeper of the Houses of the Dead
Gender: Male
Planet Name: Utumno.
Planet Description: A large planet, of which little accurate description can be made beyond the fact that the surface of Utumno is entirely made of completely smooth and unblemished black marble. The surface is seamless and devoid of any grains or veins within the rock giving it the impression of still black water. A thin mist-like black smoke floats constantly swirls across Utumno, instantly thickening to obscure vision and suffocate any who set foot upon the world.
Beneath this nigh impenetrable surface lies the true domain of The Doomsman. It is a world formed on the ever-changing whim of its creator and lord, a tormented place of nightmares and horrors, fed by the souls of mortals and immortals alike. A world that is rarely seen the same way, even by two standing side by side on the same spot, Utumno is the halls where the souls of the damned find their way after judgement, as well as those too afraid to seek true judgement. But it matters little; they all suffer in the fires of Angrenost, at the heart of the world, under Neithan’s eternal care.
Image

Civilization: He rarely cares enough to cultivate an civilization to spread through Utumno, but has however created areas of torment within his domain to replicate the dull monotone existence that mortals create for themselves within such an environment. And as a result has spent many an hour watching how the souls in his grasp invent new ways to cause suffering to each other without his intervention.

Opinion of mortals: Neither likes nor hates them, but views them primarily as a source of experiment and entertainment.

Appearance:
Neithan’s form changes depending on his current mood and state of mind, resulting in him sometimes appearing as almost anything that mortal or immortal minds could conceive; however while he does favour creatures made of darkness and/or fire he does sometimes roam his world in an almost mortal looking form.
Image

Alignment: Varying between Chaotic Neutral and Evil

Personality

Neithan tends to be very private, and does not let a lot of people get close. He is a creative type, pouring his energy and intellect into inventing and implementing new domains and suffering within his world. He is an individualistic being who follows his own counsel and beliefs rather than those of others. Rarely one to call direct attention to himself he prefers to work behind the scenes before taking a direct interest in matters in a secretive manner.

Likes:
[+] Jellied Mortals (Liquefied humanoids imbued with the souls of the dead)
[+] Watching how others tick, and toying with their desires and minds
[+] Setting fire to things
[+] Creative torment and suffering

Dislikes:
[-] Stability
[-] Virtues
[-] Bright Light

Equipment

His staff is formed from shadows and fire which he can shape into any weapon he desires, though he tends to favour polearms and axes for the most part he’s not above using any if needed.

A cluster of small clear crystal cubes inside of which he conjures peoples darkest moments and desires before twisting them even more.

At the edge of the furthest reaches of the expanding universe was a point of true darkness, something which at first glance was little more than an abnormally large black hole, when in truth it was much worse: an antimatter star. The spirals of its shimmering corona sucked the light of its illuminating kin down into its fathomless depths, suffocating and devouring all that came near. Around the star space had begun to fray and twist, slowing and speeding up time as passing light was caught in its expanding gravity well. It was slowly beginning to develop an asteroid belt of sorts, formed from various rocks and wisps of black mist that trailed around the star, slowly imprisoning it as the decaying heart of a new world.

The surface of this newborn world rippled and shuddered, flickering as it attempted to settle itself into some sort of stability. As it attempted in vain to achieve this there were flashes of seas of blood, towering buildings warped and crafted from bone, flames engulfing naked bodies as they writhed uncontrollably. With each flash of a new image the previous one was submerged beneath the surface of the world, growing larger till at last there was little more than a barren rocky world of tall dark mountains and deep chasms.

There was a faint ‘clink’ followed by total silence for a few moments; then it was if the world began to scream as every single horrific flash that had occurred during this worlds tormented birth repeated over and over again into eternity. At the very roof of this world, a long thin black staff stood, carved with glowing runes in a multitude of colours; as spreading out from its base the world was being smoothed to the point of frictionless.

"I'm am Polaris, Messenger of you're eldest brother Righello" explained Polaris. "And this female is my sister Shyna" said the messenger. "You're eldest brother is making a main temple for all our kin to meet if they are born or confused, it must involve all the brothers and sisters born, including you" explains the messenger. "May you like to follow us to our master's planet?" asks the messenger.

While the messengers where investigating this dimming star, Righello felt another booming feeling of another sibling. This one was a lot like when he felt Sade's presence. It felt chaotic and maddening. This one had to wait, fore his messengers had to return with the other sibling.

"OK my friend lets go" says Shyna. The two messengers then fly away to the direction of Santo. They then land at there master's planet. "Master, we have located that sibling of you'rs, he will be here any minute now" explain the mortals. "Thank you, but there is another born...and he feels dangerous..." says the god as he looks to the stars. "I must upgrade you, fore I do not want my mortals to get hurt" says the god with a sigh. He then waves his hands around Polaris's shoulders, knees, and chest. Polaris then grows armor made of stone. He then does the same for Shyna, but Shyna gets more feminine armor instead. "Now go find that other brother who seems dangerous" says the god. The two mortals then fly off again to find this more dangerous sibling.

As the two messengers approach the shadowy world its clouds seem to ripple slightly below them, parting a little to allow them to descend closer to its surface.

The clouds seem to come rushing in, clawing and drowning the two creatures in their overpowering embrace, each howls from unbearable pain as if their flesh is melting from their bodies but neither can help by add yelps of pleasure at this almost ecstatic feeling. Confusion seems to become their only stable constant, as they feel their perceptions of the world shifting and changing with each passing moment. A faint hollow chuckle seems to echo throughout this eternity, as two thin fingered hands seem to lightly but firmed tighten around their throats.

They Awaken to find themselves hanging in an empty cavernous void, with twisting fires above and swirling darkness below. Walking slowly around their slightly limp forms was a tall thin slightly hunched figure.

"So..." he whispers softly, his fingers lightly caressing the armour Righello had encased Polaris and Shyna in "You're the messengers from my dear brother." He smiles looking between them as their armour fades into pale white smoke before dissipating. He chuckles darkly and moves the pair so they're facing each other while he continues to circle them.

"Ah little obedient pets, such a good pair you are. Though I think you both chafe at his complete control of your lives and motives, you especially Polaris. I see in your heart you're envious of his power and authority. That you would much rather be free of it and be your own master." He clicks his tongue and smiles before turning to the female as chains lash the male roughly to the wall of the cavern. "And you child, your body betrays you almost as much as your thoughts. I know you wonder why your creator doesn't simply greet his siblings in person rather than waste your time, when you'd much rather retreat with dear Polaris here for some not-so-quiet contemplation. I would say in private, but you'd be fine either way would you not?"

"But a summons is a summons, so I'll acquiesce to his request this time little creatures." The last thing either knew was emptiness.

Their eyes snap open with cries of alarm to find that they are still hovering above the world as if nothing had happened to them, and the clouds below looked as impassive and impenetrable as always.

Righello then sees his new brother fly near him. He then introduced him self as Veral. This god was very interesting to Righello. The reason was because this was no goddess, but a god. This was a brother this time and no sister. Also he had the feeling of technology. He then asks his name and why he is called here. "My brother! it is nice to meet a male god for once! my name is Righello god of Wealth,Royalty,Leadership, and you are summoned for this main temple I am building! it needs all my siblings that I know of and are born" explains the god. Then another booming presence is felt by the god.

The two messengers then notice what has happened to them. It seemed so real but they where just floating above the world. "Sister, he has accepted this but...I don't think master Righello will be pleased by this one" says Polaris. Shyna then nods and then points at a bunch of tornadoes creating chaos. They then decided to investigate this. They then go here and see two planets. They investigate one and fly around, searching for any source of this chaos. The two of them then see a Celestial near the end of the tropics of the planet. They both then fly down to her and ask in unison "Hello, we are messengers of the eldest Celestial Righello. He seeks out more of his kin to come to his planet and help build a main temple for his kin to meet" explain the mortals. "May you like to come to our master's planet Santo?" asks Shyna.

"So..." the voice seemed to hiss "This is Santo." The tall spindly figure chuckled, his pale face inches away from Righello's cheeks as he measured his brothers features with his talon like hands. He pulled back as the fires roaming across his blackened flesh and bone vanished as shadows engulfed his body, twisting and forming into a long cloak to hide his features. Milky pale flesh began to appear on his face as his robes solidified with shoulder guards of bone, carved into skulls and twisted horrors.

"A temple? For what purpose do you build temples? Is it a sign of vanity? Something to declare to those beneath you that your majesty must be celebrated?" He asked inquisitively of his elder brother. "Oh yes, I forget my manners." He grinned wider than any face should and bowed low, his head snapping up harshly to the point of fracturing any spine he may have "I thank you for your invitation but why not ask me in person? Other more pressing matters than tending to us personally dear Righello? "

He suddenly turned away and looked at the world he currently found himself on, his cloak thickening as shadows billowed out from his body to better shield himself from the bright light of this world. "Strange world." he finished, before seating himself cross legged in mid-air, his gaze locked upon his Elder Righello.

Righello then sees his brother Neithan cross legged in mid-air. The brother asked why we must build a temple, but Righello was too shocked by this chaotic being and how he knows so much about Righello already. "So you are the source of this feeling of chaos? what is you're name and how do you know of my plans already?" asks the god. He then awaits and answer with out protesting this negativity to The Temple. "Also my brother, why act so strong now? I am the eldest and I know much more then you, and you are young, so very young" says Righello. He then puts his hand behind his bakc and holds on to his staff of light, secretly behind his body.

He frowned slightly at his brothers dour tone "Strong? I have done nothing but exist, and to discover." a slight flicker of sadness crossed his eyes before hardening "We may be younger than you, but Father left behind much for us all to learn from." His eyes followed the curve of his brothers arms as they'd tightened behind his back "So much anger brother, so much distrust of your kin." He lightly raised his arm as plumes of flame and shadows fell from his fingertips, moulding into a long handled staff with a skull mounted on the top "I prefer my staff to yours brother" he whispered lightly caressing the skull.

He sighed and shook his head "I am Neithan the Doomsman. Father left me to guard the halls of the cursed dead."

Suddenly Righello left his feeling of fear and anger and only found guilt. He then lets go of his staff and keeps it behind his back. Then Neithan spoke of how Father left him to guard the halls of the cursed dead. This then brought fear into Righello once more. "Apologies my brother, how about we stop arguing and begin our temple now shall we?" asks Righello. He then takes his hand out to Neithan as he is still sitting in mid-air. He then held his hand out as if he wanted Neithan to shake it and come down from sitting in mid-air. "...That is, if you want a spot in our temple? fore you are the ruler of Hell and already have a throne of sorts" suggests Righello.

The two goddesses and Svetovid have introduced themselves to each other. The three then notice Righello speaking with new gods. They are interested in these two new gods and decide to introduce themselves. The three then fly down to Neithan and Veral and introduce themselves one by one. Sade was very interested in Neithan though. The three then walk up to Righello, ready to enter the main temple.
((OOC: Sorry guys, I had to control those characters because we really have to move on.))

The two messengers then notice Quindel in pain. Shyna then flies up to Quindel with fear and sympathy. "Oh my! dear goddess, are you alright? may you like us to carry you to our master's planet instead? so you will not endure in this pain?" suggests Shyna. The two then await an answer so they can return to Santo.

Neithan tilted his head slightly before raising his right hand to hang just before his face, the skelatal structure rippling as flesh formed over it "I accept your offer Brother." He said standing on the earth and clasping Righello's hand tightly "I will lend my aid in this endeavour, but I have a matter to discuss in regards of the judging of souls when we have finished." He added as he stood next to his brother, looking to his side at Veral

"It would appear in our haste I have failed to introduce myself." He lightly bows towards the young boy, his finger tips spiraling as he turns his hand to add effect from his forehead to his waist. "My pleasure to meet you."

Veral was wondering what this god would be like, so he waited for a response to his question. "My brother! it is nice to meet a male god for once! my name is Righello god of Wealth,Royalty,Leadership, and you are summoned for this main temple I am building! it needs all my siblings that I know of and are born" Righello explained his reasons for summoning Veral, so Veral listened closely. The older god seemed like if he would be strict and boring, so Veral would keep his plans a secret from the god. "Why would you need me? Unless you need technology, then I might be able to help." Veral was simply stating the obvious, since he should not waste his time. However, the god of Leadership might be of use to him. He turned into his child form, since he thought there wold be no business made today.

Veral simply watched another god come down, but he did not address the new god. He had a curios gaze focused on the god, but he would let the two other gods converse before interrupting. Shadows engulfed the new god and terrifying things were emanating from this god, but Veral paid no heed to these signs of hellish things. "Also my brother, why act so strong now? I am the eldest and I know much more than you, and you are young, so very young Righello put his staff behind him, secretly. Veral thought that this was cocky, since age didn't matter and knowledge was dependent on the being. He wasn't going to interrupt, since this moment seemed private.

"I am Niethan the Doomsman. Father left me to guard the halls of the cursed dead." Neithan explained who he was, so Veral took note and imprinted the name into his memory. He wondered how these two gods would interact, so he just sat down and watched how they spoke to each other. His eyes darted from the two gods, trying to study the gods and how they appeared. He wondered how he looked to them, but he wasn't curious enough to make a machine to see his form.

Veral introduced himself to other gods, but he only did this as a formality and he wasn't interested in any gods except a few. He was interested in Neithan and Sade, since they seemed the most 'fun'. He had a smirk on his face, since he wished to speak with them privately later and he would make sure that they spoke to him later on.

Neithan noticed Veral, so Veral stopped thinking of what to do in the near future. He wondered what he had done to get the attention of Neithan, but then he remembered that it would be natural for Neithan to be interested in Veral. "It would appear in our haste I have failed to introduce myself." Neithan bowed in front of Veral, but Veral had no idea why Neithan was being formal. "My pleasure to meet you." Neithan seemed quite formal, but Veral wouldn't bow down due to him not knowing if he was expected to. "Pleasure to meet you as well. My name is Veral. I have a question for you, are you interested in helping me with a 'project' later?" Veral got straight to the point, since his patience was a bit weak and he needed to know if Neithan would help Veral.

He then turned to Righello. "I shall accept your offer, but I shall only be able to help with technology or innovation related endeavors"

Polaris and Shyna then in a way 'smiled' at Quindel for her compliment. They then introduce Quindel to the other gods and goddesses at Santo. "This is the new goddess we found" explain the two in unison. They then ask "Exactly, what is you're name?" ask the two in unison.

Veral was wondering why the main temple was so important, but he would help build it if it was necessary of him to help. "I'll help if you need me to." He knew that he wouldn't be a lot of help, if Righello minded him using automatons to do the work for him. "Hello, do you have a planet made, yet?" He was interested in this god, since he has not been paying attention to this god earlier. He heard her name, but he wasn't fascinated until now. He wondered what other gods would shape their planets like, since Righello's planet was extremely different than Veral's planet.

He wondered what Neithan's planet was like as well, but he would ask later and not right now. Veral wanted to fly randomly and make new things without restraint, but he knew Righello might have not enjoyed seeing his planet messed with by another god.

"Pleasure to meet you as well. My name is Veral. I have a question for you, are you interested in helping me with a 'project' later? Veral replied to Neithan's Greeting causing the god's head to tilt slightly as he mulled over the request "A 'project' little brother? How very vague." he said back, chuckling and lightly twirling his long staff through his fingers. "Though I see no reason why not, after this temple has been raised in our 'glory' I will indeed offer my assistance." He smiled broadly again, his teeth expanding to fangs for a moment before vanishing behind his closed lips.

He settled back into a seated position, though only hovering at half his height this time, with his staff planted in the earth in front. "Time is drawing out Righello... We grow bored." He muttered half to himself but loud enough for the others to hear as he began to create a sphere of darkness which appeared to siphon the light from around it's edge before flickering flames erupted from it akin to sun flare. This repeated itself for awhile as the gods pale hands roamed the surface of the orb causing it to twist and writhe.

"Understood, we shall start this temple now!" said Righello with glee. "Why are we building a temple?" asks Quindel. "Dear sister, we are doing this so all our kin may meet here. My mortals cannot find all of them, so this temple will do the job" answers Righello. "Now we shall begin!" half yells Righello with glee. He then faces the wooden door and stares at it firmly. "Nif janikup heeka!" yells Righello at the door. The door then rumbles around a bit and opens. This reveals a huge golden corridor inside. In the walls of the corridor where entrances to more halls that lead to empty rooms with even more golden halls. Going straight will lead you to a huge circular room filled with seven floating thrones that looked bland and each had a stone tablet in the seat. Behind each floating throne was a huge golden rectangle. Righello and some others walked inside. He then looks back at all his siblings. "If you are wondering the language I used to open this door, it was Draconish, the language I made only for the gods" explains Righello. He then flies to the throne room with the others that followed him. Then he touched a throne. The throne then turned golden and with a velvet red cushion. Words from the Draconish language then appeared on his tablet in a flash of light. "I am the royalty, the knowledge, and the wealthy" was now written on the tablet on his seat. The huge golden rectangle then starts crumbling. It looked like it was going to be destroyed, but it just carved it self into a statue of Righello. The statue was shaped like Righello, it was standing up straight and proud. The statue also had Righello holding his staff of light up high in glory. He then looks back at his sibling once more. "Touch a throne of you're choice, and that will be you're spot in the main temple!" commands Righello nicely. "And after that, you may decorate any empty room with anything that will be useful for us" explains the god. He then goes to one empty room and makes it a library. The boks where written in Draconish and the book shelves where huge and golden. They where so big that they covered every wall. In the center where multiple tables with chairs for you to sit and read at. And in the middle of all these chairs and tables was a marble and white podium with a large book opened on top of it. Righello then flies up to this podium and takes out his staff of light. The staff then shrinks to the size of a pencil and Righello then uses it as a pencil as well. He then starts writing the Laws upon Gods and Mortals on this book. "You may choose a spot for you're seating in the throne room. The throne will check you're 'aura' and it will be shaped to you're likeness" explains Righello with out even looking at his siblings, since he was busy writing the Laws upon Gods and Mortals.

He'd followed his elder brother into the temple through a door which had not existed until it was needed from what he could tell. As he entered the structure he had to stifle a faint hiss at the brightness of its walls and ceiling, before growling at the light reflected from the golden thrones. He watched as Righello crafted his own seat of glory in what seemed to be the prime place of honour before leaving for his private chambers, the air of arogance seeming to cloud him from view as he carefully examined the sheer blunt force of his pride.

Holding the orb close in one hand he used the other to pull his cloak tighter around his thin frame, eyes tracing the outline of the throne furthest from the entrance, hidden slightly in the shadows of the structural supports. It was perfect. Or at least as near as could be found in this place. "Ah... Such a simplistic design for a throne" he chuckled darkly as he wandered around the throne before summoning a small pedestal upon which he placed his newly crafted orb.

"I wonder..." He reached out carefully and pressed a long skeletal finger against the warmth of the throne. The words detailing who the throne belonged too slowly began to carve themselves into the stone but they appeared to be having difficulty deciding what to write and in what order to write it, and they with a faint screeching sound the words were reforming as they were unable to keep to one typeface. The throne was also rippling and trembling as it changed style and shape in an ever increasing tempo, moving from colour to colour as what looked to be creatures formed from his own nightmares writhed within the stone.

"That won't do at all." he whispered and pressed his entire hand against the throne. The faint screeching spiked into a sudden wail of blood curdling damnation "mm la la la, mm la la la" The worlds were slowly uncarving themselves and the throne was twisting into a shape which curved in on itself to the point of deifying all logical analysis as the throne shattered into powdered dust. "Now for a change in décor." he said as he pointed towards the segment of wall behind where his throne had stood, warping the walls to dark lacquered wood carved into writhing creatures which changed every time some glanced at them. He parted the woodwork to form a heavy-set dreaded portal doorway in the centre of the wall and called into existence two brazier's in the shape of roaring hounds either side of it.

Satisfied with his work he turned back to face his orb, carefully placing his hands either side of it. His tongue clicked slowly as he tapped against the surface of the dark sphere. He smiled slowly as he leant back, sitting down on a large ornately carved tall backed throne made of black marble and ringed with trailing lines of flame that was being shaped for him. As he took his seat upon the throne the words The Doomsman became etched over his head.

"Ah that is better." He said, smiling to himself as his throne had brought a little darkness into this temple. He lightly caressed the hand rest of his throne, smiling as the naked woman bound and carved within the stone on this side cried out in silent agony while he slowly mutilated her body. He tapped her forehead and forced the stone to reshape itself into a dragon which snapped at the air.

Varel then saw as Neithan made his throne in an odd way. He decided to see what would happen to his throne. He then flies into the temple and touches an empty throne. The throne then turns into the brown metal of clockwork. It flew with small rockets that constantly blew out steam. Behind his throne came a sort of 'lab' of sorts that then filled with many interesting looking machines. Veral then clapped with glee. He then grabbed his tablet as it started to make the words "I am the technology, the power that even mortals may use" in Draconish. He then placed his tablet back on to his throne and flew to the brand new lab that was now formed behind his throne. The golden rectangle then crumbled at all the ruble was not useless. The ruble had now turned into mini atamatons that where only as high as too Veral's ships. He then morphed into his childish form and started playing with all the mini atamatons, some where played as if they where toys, and others where played with as if they where children. He then sees all the inventions in his 'lab' and starts tinkering and testing them out on his atamatons. He is then occupied by this for a long time.
((OOC: I was given permission to control Veral, since OneTailedFox is going to be gone for a while))

Righello was now finished writing The Laws among Gods and Mortals. He closed his new written book and read it in glory. The book was written in Draconish as always since Righello finds this godly language to be polite. Although he felt as if this book was not complete. It held many rules, most that Righello did not even remember writing. He then stared at this one law that he will never forget. "Thou shall never murder our own kin" was the law that Righello could not forget. He then thought for a while and wished that another brother might be able to help with this. He then shook this idea off for now and went on with decorating this empty temple. He then flew to the long corridor leading to the throne room. Then he takes a little stone from his pile of foreign plants and rocks from other planets (which was inside the temple). Then he splits this stone in too with his hands and throws one piece to the right and the other to the left. The two halves of the stone then turn into a large stone wall that covered the entire sides of the corridor. He wanted to make pictures, but he had no skill of drawing. He needed someone with artistic ability to draw out the stories that currently happened, including the past history of Mother and Father. He then felt another booming presence of another sibling, a sister. He felt creativity in this one and it seemed a lot like Adrianna's presence. He then calls forth his two messengers to go find this one sibling. Shyna the female pink messenger then flies off with her golden brother Polaris.

The God appeared at the foot of his throne, the mechanical creature clutched in his long, claw-like fingers as he examined it intently "What a curious thing this is..." He muttered to himself before prizing open its rib-cage and reaching inside as his hand became engulfed in flames and shadow. The energy rippled throughout the creature as Neithan watched it's faint struggle, its body warpping slightly as it grew taller and filled out to look more muscularly built. After a few moments he placed it back on the marbled floor by his throne. It was now made of perfectly smooth black stone, with the soft whirl of its original mechanism almost hidden at it's heart; standing ten feet in height with one singular ruby eye set in the middle of a featureless face. He smiles at his work before parting his fingers to form a long sliver of fire which he draped slowly with rings of shadow to create a thin sword of the same black stone with ripples of orange flame moving under its smooth surface. As he gives it to the construct it grasps it, spins it once in its grasp to feel the weight before holding it blade down in front of it and remaining still.

"I shall call you Moxix, and you will guard my throne and orb little creature." He smiled as he saw the sheen on the creatures body was faintly sticky, as it began to ooze an almost unnoticeable amount of blood which then melted off due to the vast level of heat its flaming core was now producing.

He turned and walked over to his sibling "I thank you for your gift, but I am still intruiged as to what you wished my help with earlier?" He questioned his brother, head tilted to one side as he slowly spun his staff across his fingers.

Veral

Veral knew that the other gods would add on to the automatons he made, but it was a bit hard to summon patience. He watched as Neithan made the automaton seem to be made of obsidian, but Veral saw nothing 'scary' about the new machine. There was a bit of blood, but Veral simply didn't care enough to notice. "I thank you for you gift, but I am still intrigued as to what you wished my help with earlier?" Neithan's head was tilted to one side as he said this. "I can't reveal surprises and I haven't even made the first machine to help with my endeavor." He had a mischievous smile on his face, since no one but him would know what the machine did, yet. He planned to only reveal his plan to Neithan only, since telling others might be hinderance.

Veral watched a wolf-like celestial fly. He wondered what allowed the celestials to propel themselves. He decided that he would investigate later, since he thought that he could perhaps make vehicles that flew. He saw the spiders the wolf-like celestial made and he wondered what use these spiders would be to the celestial who made them. A single Spyder scurried to Veral. Veral wondered why a spyder would approach him. He thought that it was probably a malfunction, but this theory dissipated as soon as he read what it had on it's head. "A gift" was written on it's head, so Veral thought that the wolf-like celestial wanted Veral to keep the modified automaton. Veral went to his throne and sat down, since he was deciding to make the first part of his machine. He quickly took some materials from a table and he began making the materials compressed into a complicated and compact box. This box had runes on it and it seemed to glow. The inside of the box was much bigger than the outside, but Veral would not explain how this worked. He had a smile on his face, since he had just messed with space itself. Wires extended from his fingers and he began messing with the clockwork machinery deep inside the box. Breaking this box could cause catastrophic events, but it would be extremely hard to break the box due to it's density. He would show this box to Neithan later, but it still needed quite a bit of work to be done on it. Veral would be quite busy working on this for a while, and he wouldn't tell anyone what he was working on.

He'd hovered around the temple for some time now in the hope that this summons would not have been for nought, but it was beginning to creep up on him that Righello had simply decided to waste his time. His attention had been held for a moment or two by the machinations of Varel's creations, and the Spider constructs were certainly entertaining. He made a mental note to examine one closer later.

"What a great use of my time and energy" he growled before turning to Varel "Seek me out when you're done with your little project young sibling."

He slowly made his way towards the dread portal behind his throne, the shadowed part of the temple beginning to throb and pulse as his anger began to rise, sparks of fire rippling throughout. With his thin clawed fingers he ripped the door apart, watching the burnt charred pieces melt into wisps of shadow. As he stepped across the threshold and slowly wandered the twisting paths of his world the door through which he had entered resealed itself and disconnected from him and his home till such time as he wished it to reopen.

"In the name of mother and father what a pathetic wretch. I thought I would honour the union of our forebears and his response is to leave without a word to answer the incessant screech of so called music from halfway across the stars." The bowls of Utumno stretched to the very limits of dimentional space, warping the fabric of reality within the core of the world. The howls of tormented mortals soothed the celestial as he picked a handful of whimpering souls from the wall and felt his jaw soften into a smile as each was encased in flesh. "Ah, the taste of the damned" he muttered as he bit into half a dozen of them.

He dropped the half eaten creatures as they burst into flames, their cries of anguish cut short as the landscape around him changed again. He was now standing on a thin black bridge in front of a pair of lavishly carved and designed set of doors, studded with jewels and precious stones to represent the multitude of stars within the universe. As he made to open them he noted another new star almost as black as the one at the heart of his world, if only a collapsed star rather than its true opposite. Entering the vast chamber within he slowly walked around the one object at its heart, a single slab of similarly adorned marble with a sleeping figure upon it.
"Hello Father dearest" he muttered as he gently placed his clawed fingers upon the smooth surface either side of Father's head "You crushed my star before you entered your great slumber, and placed upon my shoulder the mantle that I now bear, yet you allow the others to live their lives free of such duties and think themselves my better."

He sighed softly and shook his head slowly. "I can see the horror my elder brother will cause through his own vanity. I know I would happily see all their creations twisted till I can sample their darkest moments and twisted desires but he will simply grind us all into the dust to promote his own perfect picture of how we should be rather than what we are."

At the other side of the universe a violent and resentful voice seemed to roar into the fathoms of space.

"Why do I exist? Why am I last?"

In answer to this cry a voice like the sound of a thousand needles through their heart echoed softly as a skelatal figure wreathed in shadows and flame sat cross-legged opposite.

"Well once upon a time Mother and Father got bored with their lot and decided to create as many children as the heavens have stars to see how it would turn out. Though this was simply a plan to allow them to retreat from their creations and sleep till the last star has melted away into the cosmos. You're newly awakened, are you not?" The last came out slightly softer as he tilted his head to the side.
