Veral

God of Technology and Innovation.

0 · 662 views · located in Reality

a character in “The Celestials”, as played by 0neTailedf0x

Description

Name: Veral
Gender: Male
Planet Name: Neraida
Planet Description: A planet made of clockwork, due to it's mechanical nature it is able to repair any damage done to it, travel, and fight back with turrets. Most of the cities are under an extremely thick bulletproof sheet of glass separating the cities from the vacuum of space, since the glass gives the citizens something to look at. The world is constantly adding to itself and expanding, it has many automons cleaning the streets, building homes, doing manual labor, and mining the natural mines . The mines are giant and full of minerals that are used in the expansion of the civilization. The main building is where Veral resides and manages most of the technology made, but he does not make everything himself and he allows a lot of the citizens to experiment themselves and come up with new inventions. He makes it a requirement to exercise for at least a half an hour everyday, due to obesity being a plausible problem. The plant has a main trading city, this city houses many of the goods that are sent out to other cities in hope of trading efficiently.

The planet has a dock for ships coming and leaving, since trade is important. Their religion focuses on worshipping Veral and creating statues for worshipping Veral and other gods of interest. They use vehicles powered by steam and other means, they use cars and boats for travel on land and water. They use gliders to travel in the air, but the gliders don't work well for long distances. There is a place set up for plants and animals, since the planet would run out of air otherwise. The civilization is on the verge of making a machine that can create oxygen by adding and removing protons from elements, but this technology is untested and somewhat dangerous. A weak point in his planet is that he can be attacked when his planet is under maintenance, but maintenance is randomly scheduled due to some civilizations possibly wanting to take advantage of that weakness. When his civilization is under maintenance, then a lot of the defenses are turned off and his civilization is left vulnerable to attack. He leaves some war vehicles on his planet when under maintenance, so he isn't defenseless.

Civilization: The civilization focused on technology, warfare, and trade the most, since these would help the most. They accept other civilizations and are not afraid to go to war, but they will not start wars due to losing trade systems with mineral rich planets. Usually they export many inventions, but they only import minerals due to their products being more advanced than many races. The race will be very close to the race that will be inhabiting Santo, due to knowledge being necessary for advancement in technology and an alliance will most likely be created between the two planets. The young and old are allowed to do anything, as long as they help the planet grow and advance. The planet is lead by a president who represents it, but Veral has the power to deny anything he finds to be unfair from being forced on to the citizens and if enough citizens agree then anything passed by Veral can be denied as well.

Opinion of mortals: He enjoys conversing with them, due to mortals usually having many ideas for inventions and due to them being unpredictable.

Appearance:
Image His preferred form is that of a child, since he enjoys acting childish and creative. He has brown hair and is usually seen wearing a cape, for no apparent reason. He is usually happy when in this form, but anyone angering him will get another form.
Image His form when angered is that of a tall figure, wearing a mask and a cape. He usually has a sword in this form and has gold around his suit, of course he can see through his mask. He is slender and his personality is much more different when in this form, while in this form he is a mastermind who can get things done.
Image His form when doing business is the same tall figure, but he is wearing no mask and is usually seen with a bored expression on his face. This form is purely for business and nothing more.

Alignment: Neutral

Likes: Artists, inventors, machines, sleeping, originality, knowledge.

Dislikes: People who try to suppress creativity and originality, technological viruses, and raiders.

Personality: He can be childlike and occasionally break something while conducting experiments, but he is a genius and his planet proves that. He will be bored of anything, unless the thing or person proves to be interesting enough for him to investigate it. He doesn't care about being the leader, instead he only cares about inventing new things and figuring out his emotions. He enjoys reading and thinks of books to be a great invention, so he will never replace books with anything due to his respect for them. He tries to encourage inventors to make new things and explore the boundaries of science, since they will most likely inspire him to make new things. When angered, he uses his vast intelligence to rip apart a whole civilization. Usually he will just pull a couple of strings or use his alliances to rip apart a civilization, but usually he will let minor offenses slide. He hates sterns, due to them halting the advancement of his technology and he will do everything in his power to stop storms. He punishes those who create viruses by sending them to a planet with no advancement and no other intelligent races on it, since technology will not be on that planet for a while and escape will be mostly impossible. If you see him in his form that has a tall slender figure, with a mask on. Then he is angered and prepared to go to war or something of the sort, he will use every way of warfare available to him. From using physiological tactics to using his actual military for fighting. When using a form similar to the one mentioned before, but without a mask. Then he is ready to do business and establish trade routes or things of the sort.

So begins...

Shyna and Polaris then notice Aureen. "Hello my dear, we are the messengers of you're eldest brother Righello, he is finding someone with artistic talent to add to his temple" say the two in unison. "May you like to follow us to our master's planet known as Santo" asks the golden male messenger Polaris. They then await an answer.

Suddenly while Righello is awaiting for Varel to bring his gift to life, he feels two more booming presences of more sisters and/or brothers. He then looks at his new helper of the library and decides to call him 'The Librarian'. Then he hears a really loud sound of, music? This was new to Righello since no one had used music yet but this sounded interesting to him.

Veral

Veral wondered what Righello would add onto the automaton given, but he would not interfere directly or risk suppressing creativity. The new machines was tall and it's hands were long. The thing that surprised Veral the most, was that Righello stabbed the machine. Veral was surprised by the gesture, since he thought it meant that Righello didn't like the machine. The machine vibrated violently, so Veral thought that it was going to explode. It stopped vibrating and it seemed to have a sort of 'life'. The machine went to the library as soon as Righello told it to. Veral was watching from his laboratory, since he wished to see what modifications would be made.

Righello flew to Veral, passing Neithan's throne. Veral felt no fear from seeing Neithan's throne, since he simply was too busy creating to notice any danger or be scared. "Brother! thank you for this gift! for this I shall repay you!" Righello said this after he reached Veral. Righello then made a golden block, but Veral wondered what good money would to do to him. Veral then saw that it was simply material for making a being and that he had been to quick to judge. The new machine seemed to be a golem of sorts, but Veral had no idea what to do with this golem. He quickly read the words written in Draconish, but they were not as interesting as the golem itself. "I am no master of this power, may you like to name this creation and give it a gift as well? the gift of life!" Righello stood there, waiting for Veral to give the golem 'life'. "I shall give it life, since it might prove a good inventor." He wondered if this creation would be able to invent new things, but he wouldn't figure that out if he just stood there wondering. He grabbed some materials from his laboratory and he began making a clockwork engine, so the machine could have life and produce gases. His mortals would be able to breathe in almost all forms of air, since it would be quite hard to survive in a place full of gases that could kill you. He felt the presence of two of his newly-born kin, but he didn't care enough to investigate. "So many possibilities for inventions. I think I might have to keep a book upon my inventions, but I'm not sure I have enough patience to write about every invention I make." He was thinking out loud, but he didn't know this and he wouldn't care if he did know this.

Righello then clapped with glee as Veral made an engine to help give life. "Wonderful creation brother! tell me when you are finished so I may see it! but I must go on other duties, farewell!" says Righello as he flies away waving. He then heads back to his pile of foreign materials. He then takes an odd fruit covered with fur. He then creates a mortal with this fruit. The new mortal was all covered in white fur and was kind of short and wise looking. Righello then held his hands out and a wooden staff appeared in his hands. He then gives the new mortal the staff and it heads to the library to study. He then does this multiple times, he also made a few with wings for extra messengers.

The God appeared at the foot of his throne, the mechanical creature clutched in his long, claw-like fingers as he examined it intently "What a curious thing this is..." He muttered to himself before prizing open its rib-cage and reaching inside as his hand became engulfed in flames and shadow. The energy rippled throughout the creature as Neithan watched it's faint struggle, its body warpping slightly as it grew taller and filled out to look more muscularly built. After a few moments he placed it back on the marbled floor by his throne. It was now made of perfectly smooth black stone, with the soft whirl of its original mechanism almost hidden at it's heart; standing ten feet in height with one singular ruby eye set in the middle of a featureless face. He smiles at his work before parting his fingers to form a long sliver of fire which he draped slowly with rings of shadow to create a thin sword of the same black stone with ripples of orange flame moving under its smooth surface. As he gives it to the construct it grasps it, spins it once in its grasp to feel the weight before holding it blade down in front of it and remaining still.

"I shall call you Moxix, and you will guard my throne and orb little creature." He smiled as he saw the sheen on the creatures body was faintly sticky, as it began to ooze an almost unnoticeable amount of blood which then melted off due to the vast level of heat its flaming core was now producing.

He turned and walked over to his sibling "I thank you for your gift, but I am still intruiged as to what you wished my help with earlier?" He questioned his brother, head tilted to one side as he slowly spun his staff across his fingers.

Svetovid remained silent as it observed the Watchers taking form, what it thought of them it kept to itself. Slowly it turned and began to float back to its throne, lost deep once more in the reaches of its own mind. It was not until it reached its throne that it noticed something new at its throne, an automaton which seemed completely pure, for a moment Svetovid considered leaving it as it was but then changed its mind. The Celestial raised a single hand and grasping claws slid from around the throne and dragged the automaton into the smoke and the stench, Svetovid then took its place on its throne and waited.

It did not have to wait long, though the sounds of industry did not get much louder there was a slight change, from the back of the throne a small clunking could be heard then a creature emerged from a hidden panel in the throne, the creature was made of brass and had six spidery legs on an oval body, it had two sets of pincers where its mouth would be and underneath was a chamber where a blow torch sat which could be extended and activated at will by the spidery creature, all the parts had originally come from the automaton and had been copied or changed slightly so the creature was only about a foot high. Svetovid carefully inspected the creature and deemed its name was a 'Spyder' and motioned it to stand aside slightly, from the throne came another, then another until a good dozen stood motionless before Svetovid. The Celestial then raised its hand and the Spyders turned as one and began to march back towards Verals throne, each of the Spyders were identical except for the lead one, which had the words 'A gift' written on the back in black runes.

Veral

Veral knew that the other gods would add on to the automatons he made, but it was a bit hard to summon patience. He watched as Neithan made the automaton seem to be made of obsidian, but Veral saw nothing 'scary' about the new machine. There was a bit of blood, but Veral simply didn't care enough to notice. "I thank you for you gift, but I am still intrigued as to what you wished my help with earlier?" Neithan's head was tilted to one side as he said this. "I can't reveal surprises and I haven't even made the first machine to help with my endeavor." He had a mischievous smile on his face, since no one but him would know what the machine did, yet. He planned to only reveal his plan to Neithan only, since telling others might be hinderance.

Veral watched a wolf-like celestial fly. He wondered what allowed the celestials to propel themselves. He decided that he would investigate later, since he thought that he could perhaps make vehicles that flew. He saw the spiders the wolf-like celestial made and he wondered what use these spiders would be to the celestial who made them. A single Spyder scurried to Veral. Veral wondered why a spyder would approach him. He thought that it was probably a malfunction, but this theory dissipated as soon as he read what it had on it's head. "A gift" was written on it's head, so Veral thought that the wolf-like celestial wanted Veral to keep the modified automaton. Veral went to his throne and sat down, since he was deciding to make the first part of his machine. He quickly took some materials from a table and he began making the materials compressed into a complicated and compact box. This box had runes on it and it seemed to glow. The inside of the box was much bigger than the outside, but Veral would not explain how this worked. He had a smile on his face, since he had just messed with space itself. Wires extended from his fingers and he began messing with the clockwork machinery deep inside the box. Breaking this box could cause catastrophic events, but it would be extremely hard to break the box due to it's density. He would show this box to Neithan later, but it still needed quite a bit of work to be done on it. Veral would be quite busy working on this for a while, and he wouldn't tell anyone what he was working on.

He'd hovered around the temple for some time now in the hope that this summons would not have been for nought, but it was beginning to creep up on him that Righello had simply decided to waste his time. His attention had been held for a moment or two by the machinations of Varel's creations, and the Spider constructs were certainly entertaining. He made a mental note to examine one closer later.

"What a great use of my time and energy" he growled before turning to Varel "Seek me out when you're done with your little project young sibling."

He slowly made his way towards the dread portal behind his throne, the shadowed part of the temple beginning to throb and pulse as his anger began to rise, sparks of fire rippling throughout. With his thin clawed fingers he ripped the door apart, watching the burnt charred pieces melt into wisps of shadow. As he stepped across the threshold and slowly wandered the twisting paths of his world the door through which he had entered resealed itself and disconnected from him and his home till such time as he wished it to reopen.

"In the name of mother and father what a pathetic wretch. I thought I would honour the union of our forebears and his response is to leave without a word to answer the incessant screech of so called music from halfway across the stars." The bowls of Utumno stretched to the very limits of dimentional space, warping the fabric of reality within the core of the world. The howls of tormented mortals soothed the celestial as he picked a handful of whimpering souls from the wall and felt his jaw soften into a smile as each was encased in flesh. "Ah, the taste of the damned" he muttered as he bit into half a dozen of them.

He dropped the half eaten creatures as they burst into flames, their cries of anguish cut short as the landscape around him changed again. He was now standing on a thin black bridge in front of a pair of lavishly carved and designed set of doors, studded with jewels and precious stones to represent the multitude of stars within the universe. As he made to open them he noted another new star almost as black as the one at the heart of his world, if only a collapsed star rather than its true opposite. Entering the vast chamber within he slowly walked around the one object at its heart, a single slab of similarly adorned marble with a sleeping figure upon it.
"Hello Father dearest" he muttered as he gently placed his clawed fingers upon the smooth surface either side of Father's head "You crushed my star before you entered your great slumber, and placed upon my shoulder the mantle that I now bear, yet you allow the others to live their lives free of such duties and think themselves my better."

He sighed softly and shook his head slowly. "I can see the horror my elder brother will cause through his own vanity. I know I would happily see all their creations twisted till I can sample their darkest moments and twisted desires but he will simply grind us all into the dust to promote his own perfect picture of how we should be rather than what we are."

At the other side of the universe a violent and resentful voice seemed to roar into the fathoms of space.

"Why do I exist? Why am I last?"

In answer to this cry a voice like the sound of a thousand needles through their heart echoed softly as a skelatal figure wreathed in shadows and flame sat cross-legged opposite.

"Well once upon a time Mother and Father got bored with their lot and decided to create as many children as the heavens have stars to see how it would turn out. Though this was simply a plan to allow them to retreat from their creations and sleep till the last star has melted away into the cosmos. You're newly awakened, are you not?" The last came out slightly softer as he tilted his head to the side.

Veral

The god of technology had a mischievous smirk. He had just finished making his complex box. This box was much more devious than it looked. It could store many things, so it could be used for evil or for good. He walked up to Arcturus, but he didn't fear his older brother. He had a wicked smile on his childish face. "May you please store some of your creations in my box?" He whispered this in Arcturus's ear, since he didn't want any other god to listen. "I'll tell you what I plan to do with this box later, but not while in the presence of the other gods. Also, I don't care what you do to the universe, as long as I have my box and it's eternal wonders." Veral didn't know the difference between evil and good, so he couldn't be held accountable for his actions. The box he made would be a much worse version of Pandora's box, but it would have much more features than Pandora's box and it would be capable of much more. He had heard of the other gods and what they did, but he was too busy to commune with them when he was working on his box.

Veral created a simple automaton that resembled himself, since he couldn't be in two places at once. He could hear what the automaton heard and he could control what the automaton did. Veral then sent the automaton towards Mythplxyctpqll, since he was interested in this goddess. "Mythplxyctpqll, I'm pretty sure I messed with the rules of space by making my box, I hope you're not a goddess that doesn't enjoy me using loopholes in space. You wouldn't mind giving me something to store in my box, would you? It is almost infinitely big on the inside, it works by some overly complicated mechanics and things that pretty much wouldn't make sense to anyone but me. Will you take me upon my offer?" The automaton that Veral made had a metallic voice and it's body was made to resemble Veral in every way possible, but it was clear that this was simply a machine and not Veral himself. Veral thought of the world as simply a toy for him to play with and change. He didn't care for any other beings, unless those beings were interesting to keep around.

Veral would seek out Neithan later, but he was too busy at the moment. He would store all sorts of things in his box, but he wouldn't tell anyone besides Neithan and Arcturus what he would do with those stored creations. He thought about telling Mythplxyctpqll, but he wasn't sure if he wanted to.

Mythie rolled her eyes, quite literally, she popped them out of her head and rolled them around in her hand, at Arcturus' response. "Clearly he was missing the second part of what you said, though you do appreciate the backhanded compliment." She then saw Veral's replica walk up to her, though it was beyond her understanding why he would send an automaton to speak with her when the original was only a few feet away talking with Arcturus. Regardless, she nodded at his words. "You take no issue with the defiance of natural law, it only makes you stronger, after all."

In response to Veral's, or rather, his replica's, request, Mythie simply handed him her eyes, which she had yet to put back in their proper place. "You ask if these will suffice." Seeing without eyes was naturally impossible, and therefor, quite easy for the goddess in question. With that done, Mythplxyctpqll ruffled the hair of Veral's creation, commenting that while it was okay aesthetically, it would look far more dapper with a monocle and a top hat.

Through the vastness a space a light shot across the emptiness, wreathed in powerful green brilliance. That light was the bringer of justice and the guardian of the entire cosmos, Jordane chosen son of The Mother. The Celesetial of Will was searching now for others like him, his family. He had been alive long enough now and he craved the long over due meeting. Even at this range he could feel them, all gathered on a planet named Santos. A world of mists and clouds with untold treasures lying deep beneath the surface. Here was the temple of the Celestials, a beautiful expansive structure of towering pillars and pristine stone work.

Jordane's ring had worked like a tracking system and locked onto his fellow Gods power beacons. Though he had yet to meet them he could sense their power, their names and ideals all through some in-explainable goddly connection they all shared. He sensed the eldest, Righello. Kind and proud, he was the God of Leadership, Royalty, Wealth, and Knowledge. He sensed his sister Aureen, ever the muse she was the goddess of Inspiration, The Arts, and Mythic History and a kinder sole one has never had. His rather unique sister Mythplxyctpqll, goddess of Insanity, Impracticality, Sarcasm, Aglets, the Stubborn Defiance of Reality was also in attendance. A smile etched it's way onto Jordane's handsome features as the feeling her random impetuousness entered his mind, he hoped the two would be good friends. His brother Rezzan's power could be felt in the temple and at the moment the God of Freedom, Equality, Revolution, Brotherhood and Choice seemed to be thin on patience. Jordane could pick up his brothers anger from here, he wasn't sure what was happening in that temple but his noble brother didn't like it. Then there was Tché, God of Rebellion, Conflict, Anarchy, The Oppressed and Progress. Concern entered Jordane's heart at how well the two brothers could see eye to eye. Their portfolio's, while not entirely at odds, would often butt heads. That being said Jordane was resolute that he would not fight his brother for the two's differences needed not oppose one another. Then there was Ilgos, God of Blood, Reantimation and Genetic Creation as well as Jordane's brother. He sensed an oddity about his kin that felt different but not evil, he did not pick up any malice in his brothers aura. It was on his brother Veral that Jordane had difficulty getting a solid read on his intentions. The God of Technology and Innovation was plain to see but his motives were not, a Celestial of a purely neutral alignment could be swayed to good or evil on a whim.

Jordane's eye brows furrowed, his tone growing more somber as the aura of his final brother in attendance touched him. This was a being of pure darkness and hate, wicked, awful and lusting for the pain of others. His polar opposite in every way, Jordane knew they were destined to fight until the end of days. Neither side relenting until brother killed brother. It mattered not, Jordane had a duty to protect the comsos, his kin and every mortal now living. He would stand against his evil brother, even if he must stand alone.

"Arcturus Magnus..."

Jordane said aloud, speaking the name of his brother with distaste. The Bringer of Eternal Night was about to meet The Beacon of Light for All Creation. A meeting that no doubt would be recorded in the history of the Gods for all time. Jordane reached Santos and landed lightly on the ground just past the steps to the temple. The radiance of his light was on display as his glowing green eyes did a cursory scan of his immediate surroundings. Seeing not a soul he began to walk casually up the steps and into the temple that at the moment seemed to be blanketed in darkness. It was as if Magnus' mere presence was drowning out all light. Fitting then that Jordane's arrival brought the light back in force as the halls began to radiate a luminous green. He strolled through the halls admiring the ornate carvings and depictions that lined the walls and pillars of the magnificent structure but his focus was ever on the meeting of his kin in the throne room.

No doubt by now the gods within the throne room would have long since felt his presence and are now seeing the light spill through the cracks in the door. Filtering in through any space it could the greenish hue touched the throne room as if heralds of The Emerald Knight. Jordane neared the doors now, his hand poised to push open the door. His kin near at hand they would have all been looking at the door, awaiting his arrival. In the next moment there was a hushed silence, then Jordane, God of Justice pushed open the door to the throne room and his light filled the room with radiance. It washed over each and every one of his kin lovingly, though his brother Arcturus no doubt loathed the touch of the light on his golden armor and godly skin. The strength of the light dimmed out allowing his brothers and sisters to finally get a good look at their newly arrived brother as he allowed his aura to recede. Now only his eyes and his ring maintained their greenish glow as he stepped forward to greet his kin.

"Sorry I'm late, never got my invitation to the family reunion."

"Little Gods, come out and play, come with open arms and greet your brother!!!! Neithan of the Dark, Righello the Knowledgeable, all of you, do not fear me, let us talk of the way of things."

He shook his head slowly as his brothers summons echoed across the stars, almost shaking them to their very foundation. As he made ready to travel to Santo, for there could be no other location that his sibling would have referred to, he felt the universe around him melt away into pain. Pain that seemed to go on forever as his scream echoed in the wake of his brothers taunt. Steeling himself as he wrapped his form in pure darkness and tried to burn away the light that flowed by, a cry of power accompanying it.

"GREEN LANTERNS LIGHT!"

He turned towards where the cry had came from, and tilted his head slightly before growling slightly. Today was becoming tiresome, and he was wondering if he should have just stayed buried deep within the eternal depths of his world, and kept out of the problems of others.

Sighing softly he twirls his staff three times before slicing down and cutting a doorway into the endless void that exists behind the universe. He slowly steps through the gap and appears back within the endless winding chambers of his tortured realm, walking slowly with just the soft click of his footsteps to accompany him as the portal seals itself.

The doorway at the back of the temple creaked open slowly as Neithan stepped through, closing it behind him with a resounding thump.

"This 'Utopia' you speak of already exists for all those condemned to my hands little brother."

His voice is harsh and scathing as he drags his clawed fingers across the smooth marble of his construct, almost lovingly as it runs over it's shoulder.

"Your lies are as plain as your disgust at our independence, our difference from you. You speak of freewill being your greatest ally? For all your posturing and cruelty, whatever you have planned to enact upon the universe, in the end it will simply end up in my realm. You can slaughter your bloody path across the universe and it will barely even effect my duties. I will watch your futile efforts till your unsteady grip on your own sanity melts away and your final days are spent toiling to fuel to fires of hell under my eternal gaze. I have become tired of this back and forth between us. So speak plainly."
