Reyna

"I have nightmares of that place sometimes... I don't want to go back."

0 · 470 views · located in Erjykove

a character in “The Changelings”, originally authored by Masquerade (Skye), as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Reyna

Age: 14

Sexuality: She's too young to be certain, but Reyna is convinced that she's straight.

Shifting Type: Animal, however Reyna has a very rare defect in her mutation, which does not allow her to have control over her shape shifting abilities. She can get stuck between a human and animal form, therefore it is very rare that she ever gets to leave the safe house and it is also incredibly painful when she changes so she tries to avoid shape shifting unless she absolutely has to. Due to this odd defect, if she turns into a white cat and then turns back into a human, not only can she get stuck with cat ears and a tail, but her hair will change white as well.

Favored Form: Bird
Image

Personality: Reyna's personality varies depending on the situation and whether or not she has eaten breakfast. Unfortunately, the girl has a terrible habit of forgetting to eat and will often be ravenous by midday. She isn't exactly the quiet type either, however around new people she is extremely shy. She is talented as well, blessed with a photographic memory and the ability to draw almost everything she sees. She puts that talent to good use for the group when they stage raids or need a map/layout of a building.

Reyna had a dark past, but she hopes to have a bright future and has a rather optimistic view of life. She loves people and animals (once she's gotten to know them of course) and has a rather large sweet tooth. Her body has no fat cells so that girl could eat a whole cow and not gain a single ounce of weight. Unfortunately, that ability also comes with the disability of a weak immune system so she is rather susceptible to illnesses. Unfortunately, Reyna does not have very good luck. She gets blamed for most nearly everything because she is the youngest in the household and therefore it is palpable that she would do something so odd/defy her uppers.

History:Most shape shifting abilities do not appear in a child until the age of five or six, but Reyna changed from a human to a bear the day she was born alerting the doctors that she was a changeling. Her parents tried to hide her from the government and took her home; in turn, she was removed from the house by force and her parents were killed for disobeying the government. Reyna spent her first birthday as an experiment and the next three were spent in solitude underground at a remote facility in the Mojave Desert. The only thing Reyna knew were blood tests, bone marrow extractions, tests, and puzzles. She was a mouse running through a maze built for rats, far too small and out of place.

On her fifth birthday, Reyna was finally moved upstairs. She had a room to herself and a window that she liked to sit in to watch the sun, it didn't take the girl long to realize that there was a pattern on when the doctors came for her and where the sun was in the sky. She confirmed her suspicions after three days, the sun was always in the same place during the times they came for her, when food was dropped off, etc. Reyna was scarred of the doctors, but was determined to get out. On the night of the third day, she made her escape and because Reyna had no control over her shape shifting abilities, she turned into a kitten in the hallway, which alerted the guards that was out of her room. Luck was on her side for the girl ran into a group of shape shifters breaking in. She didn't understand why anyone would ever want to break into that place, but at that moment she didn't care. They were hesitant to take her a long, she was only five years old and was a liability. Her heart soared into her chest when they finally said yes and was stowed away in a backpack as they ran to their destination in Virginia. She never once complained, grateful to finally have escaped from the horrors. She might have left the facility, but the nightmares haunted her, they visited her every night and sleep soon became a luxury she no longer wanted.

Reyna became their map maker of sorts for she had the peculiar ability to recreate anything from memory and so it is quite easy for Reyna to draw up maps and floor plans. Despite this remarkable advantage, Reyna is only ever allowed out of the safe house when they need her to draw something. It is because of the defect in her changeling ability that she is kept under lock and key. Occasionally Reyna will sneak out, but she almost never leaves the property or defies orders from any of the older shape shifters.

Other: Reyna has no fat cells and so she can eat a whole cow and not gain an ounce of weight. She is also a liability and so the girl has very restricted freedom because her mutation mutated into some incredibly rare and extremely hard to find. Scientists believed she could be a key element in determining a way to put changeling DNA into soldiers, which is another reason why she is rarely allowed out.

The morning air was crisp, the rising sun mottling the sky in brilliant hues of red, yellow, pink, and purple. Reyna had been awake for hours, sleep was no longer a reprieve for the nightmares chased her through the darkest depths of her mind. A shiver ran down the girls spine as she pressed her head against the window, her brown hair tumbling down her shoulders, blue eyes staring across the forest into a world she longed to see, but would never be accepted in. Her eyes closed, sleep attempting to claim her once more, but Reyna fought it and ultimately slipped into a nightmare filled world where she knew nothing but pain.

Run, faster, turn around it's a dead end! The floor was getting hotter beneath her feet, making her run faster. She was practically flying across the floor when the shocks began and every time she reached a dead end, the shocks would get stronger, making her whole body buzz with electricity. She was so close to the exit, the glowing red sign mounted above the door was her light shining through the darkness when the buzzing began again and racked her entire being. She collapsed to the ground, numb with pain, her body convulsing from the electricity. The floor grew cool and she rested her cheek against the ground, her eyes wide with shock and pain.

Reyna awoke with a start to the sound of her alarm, she jumped off the window sill and hit the snooze button, hoping the sound hadn't woken anyone else up. The brunette opened up the hatch that led to the attic and looked down, making sure no one was standing below her as she grabbed onto one of the rungs and rode the ladder down, letting go quickly so that it folded back up on its own. The hallway was empty and the chilly morning air sent a shiver up her spine. She frowned and went down another two floors to the kitchen, wondering what was taking everyone so long when a shout of joy came from outside. Reyna poked her head out of the door to find two of the boys on the lawn, chopping wood. She stuck her head back inside, feeling too cold to go out and join them and went to start on breakfast, figuring the smells would waft through the halls and wake everyone up. She was bored and it's not like frying bacon and scrambling eggs was the hardest of tasks anyways, it was just a bit tedious to wait for the pan to warm up.

The sounds of creaking wood could be heard throughout the safe house and Reyna smiled, to her, this place had always been home. She loved it when new shape shifters found their way to the mansion because Reyna liked to meet others and learn what their abilities were. Suddenly, she began to hiccup and a scream escaped her lips as her body unwillingly transformed. The sound of bones crunching filled the air and Reyna was forced onto all fours from the pain, glossy white fur sprouting in tufts at random intervals, her screams turning to mews. She panted when it was over, suddenly a kitten on the kitchen floor. Reyna had no control over her abilities due to a mutation in her Changeling DNA that also allowed her body to take animal attributes and stick them onto her human body. It was annoying and painful and Reyna wished she could have control like the others so that she could leave the house.

Chris
Image

Chris's shirt was somewhere in the grass, sweat pouring down his chest as he chopped wood for the fireplace. It was rather cold and he figured that once they got a fire starting the house would warm up pretty fast. Chris stopped and wiped the sweat from his brow with the back of his hand, looking up at their beautiful home to admire the hard work and craftsmanship that went into building the safe haven for Changelings. Chris had, had a hand in the process he had made some decisions on the building and was happy with the result. It was finally done and as Chris stacked up the fire wood against the side of the house he noticed one of the other boys had joined him outside. "Morning Dyson," the boy was rather quiet, but Chris was doing his best to be friendly and try to include the boy in everything.

He sniffed the air and sighed, the smell of cooking bacon always relaxed his nerves because it reminded him of home. In the huge mansion Chris had lived in before his father had turned him over to the government, the smell of bacon was almost always wafting through the air in the mornings. He was just about to say something to Dyson when a screamed sounded from the inside and he frowned, glancing at the other boy and opening up the door, finding a sizzling pan and a kitten. "Oh, it was just you," he knelt to the ground in an attempt to pick the kitten up but she hissed and ran away, going to find Sapphire he figured and turned off the burners, transferring the bacon to a plate.

Chris shook his head as he sat down and sighed, looking at the list he and Jennora had compiled the night before of things they needed to complete today. There was a lot and quite frankly, Chris wasn't sure they'd be able to complete them all. The thought of the blue haired woman sent butterflies in his chest and Chris had to take a few deep breaths to calm himself down, he wasn't sure why his heart always got so fluttery when he thought of her, but Chris wished it would stop.

Jennora

She woke to the smell of bacon, a small smile crept upon her face as she opened her eyes slowly. She stared up at the ceiling of her room. She had a rather large bed and could hardly believe it was all to herself, well most of the time. She looked down at the foot of her bed where the little Dyson should have been, but was not. She didn't worry about it as she slowly sat up, the sheets falling into her lap as she did.

Jennora yawned as she jumped out of bed, not bothering to make her bed this morning. She walked right into her closet and quickly changed into a short dress and converse shoes. The dress was black and white stripes and the shoes were full black with white shoe laces. Once she had put her hair in twin tails she left her room.

She caught a white fur ball that was running down the hall way. She cornered it and then picked it up, ignoring the hissing and claw marks. "Hey there. Not exactly sure who you are, but you clearly don't know how to control your changing DNA." She said with a smile. "Don't worry it gets better honey." She told the kitten, giving it a small peck on the head before letting it go and walking down stairs.

Jennora headed for the kitchen, her smile grew when she saw Christopher. Jennora gave him a peck on the cheek as she walked by him and hid her blush in the fridge as she looked for the apple juice, then frowned when she noticed they were out. She closed the fridge door and sighed. "No apple juice." She said with a frown as her little brother walked in the door. "Morning, Dyson." She told him. He smiled at her before going up the stairs.

Jennora looked at Christopher after her brother left. "I guess I'll go into town to get food today." She loved giving herself the most dangerous job, but knowing Christopher he'd want to go with her at least. She had a plan for that though. "And before you say anything, you aren't coming with me. There's other things you have to do." She told him with a smile. She leaned closer to him. "I'll take Mikuo and Jason with me." She told him with a big smile.

Dyson

Image

Sleeping peacefully one minute and the next he is being moved into the lab rooms. He looked at the large containers where the scientists were taking normal humans and injecting them with his blood. He had watched several die already, but two were living through it. It was strange, and a bit odd. He didn't struggle this time, he knew that if he struggled it would hurt more. This time felt different though, they were trying to re-open a scar on his stomach, they thought they had missed something.. They never gave him numbing medicine. They just went at it, and always without warning. He screamed when the knife hit the scar perfectly.. 'Don't move... It'll be over soon.' He told himself before he blacked out yet again...

Dyson woke up, sweating more then a person running a marathon. The nightmares were getting worse around this time, and he hadn't any idea on why this was happening. He sighed as he sat up, resting his head in his hands, if the nightmares weren't going to get any easier then was he supposed to be this miserable forever.

As soon as Dyson got out of bed he took a hot shower, and a long one. When he was done he threw on some normal blue jeans and a plain white T-shirt, he finished with his favorite tennis shoes, the color of his hair. He stepped out of his bathroom and into his room, wondering what he'd do today. Last night he had moved from Jennora's bed to his own because it was cold in there. He didn't feel like moving around the house in an animal form this morning, which meant he'd have to deal with people talking to him. That wasn't so bad though, there weren't THAT many Changelings here.

He moved down the stairs rather quickly then he wanted, he decided to go on a short walk. Once outside he realized that Christopher was cutting wood so he decided to help him. "Morning." Was all Dyson said to Christopher, sometimes he didn't even say anything at all. Why he was talking first was strange to him.

After a while he stopped to go on a walk, it was a short and meaningless walk.

When he came back his sister was in the kitchen. He smiled at her before going back up to his room, that's when he decided to annoy his brother, who should be up already. He changed into a cute hound puppy right after getting into his brothers room and got to work.

Jason

Image

Jason had spent all night writing a song for a girl in the house that he secretly had a strong liking too. And this girl, believe it or not, was not his sister. He didn't know her name and never showed any side of affections toward her in a way that was different from anyone else he socialized with.

So on this morning he decided to sleep in, ignoring the smell of bacon and the sounds of a hissing animal not far down the hall. He wasn't dreaming of anything, he never really had dreams, in fact he wasn't exactly sleeping, just laying in bed. When his door opened he thought it was his sister coming to sleep with him, but instead an adorable animal made itself comfortable on his stomach.

Jason stared down at the animal and decided to ignore it for now, only it didn't let him. It started to whine and paw at his chest. He sighed before deciding to get up, he didn't bother changing out of yesterdays shirt and pj pants, as he walked out of his bedroom and headed downstairs, the puppy in one hand.

Lottie lay curled happily amongst the nest of blankets and pillows, that were keeping the girl warm and snug. She was hidden away in Lala land where nothing could hurt her and she really, really didn't want to wake up.
The smell of bacon started to spread though the house and she could feel her nose sniff a bit at the delicious smell.
'Mustn't wake up, must stay in warm bed where I can dream about the latest Gucci bag... Bacon smells sooooooo gooddddd....' She though as she lay frozen in her bad having an inner war with herself about whether or not she should go down stairs and eat some breakfast or stay hidden in her comfy bed...

Suddenly a scream of pain pierced the air which caused the girl to sit straight up, eyes wide open as she leapt from the bed and ran downstairs due to the commotion. Running down the hallway she felt her cozy turtle PJs change into today's outfit.
Rounding the corner she skidded into the room, she lost her balance as her socked feet slipped on the kitchen tiles and sent her tumbling into the counter.

Shaking her head a bit to get rid of her daze she looked at the rooms occupants and noticed the little white kitten, nearly groaning when she realised there had been no need to get out of bed at all. Giving a sigh she pulled herself up onto her padded feet and made her way towards the plate full of slightly charred bacon that still smelt like heaven had decided to turn itself into a food and temp whatever poor being (e.g. Lottie) who stumbled upon it with its perfect goodness.

Grabbing up a slice and taking a bit she turned back to the group in the kitchen and gave them all her innocent smile, "Congratulations, you have once again managed to drag me from my beautiful bed and even more stunning dream about Rihanna's latest scandal. So what are we doing today?", she finished off as she reached for another slice of bacon.

The door opened with a loud creak and for a moment the girl froze worried that perhaps she might have awoken one of the others. However when no one came for her she slipped outside of the safe house and quietly closed the door behind her, cringing again at how it whined to be properly oiled. Once she was outside she straightened from her semi crouch and stood flat on her feet, no longer needing to be overly silent. Saphire raised her hands above her head, stretching her muscles in order to wake them up. The early morning was one of her favorite times as it was when the world was preparing to waken up but hadn’t quite done so yet.

As she did every cool, misty morning, the blue haired girl made her way to her favorite spot in the small valley surrounded by forest. Said spot was simply a randomly chosen place in the clearing that she often laid in. She had no idea why it was so special to her; perhaps it was because it seemed so far away from any commotion and civilization or perhaps it was simply just the feeling that time was meaningless when she sat there. Either way she loved it and, after 3 years of continuously returning to it nearly every morning, a faint and inconspicuous path had begun to form.

Now, she slipped off her dirtied white converses and for a moment felt the grass between her toes. The blades tickled her feet in a way that made her senses tingle and somehow raised her spirits. Here, Saphire felt calm and at peace as she slipped her headphones over her ears and switched her device on to one of her favorite songs. She then lay down as the music started to play, staring up at the cloudless sky that was brightening with every minute as the sun rose higher.

She’s the girl that no one ever knows…” ((Say You Like Me |We the Kings))

She was shivering and clinging on to her twin sister, Topaz, who was obviously equally scared but was attempting to act the bigger sister. Even though she was only older by a minute, Topaz always behaved as if she were years older and was always very protective of Saphire.

The two children were in a cage, big enough to fit the two of them and yet, at the same time, so confined. They were being treated as if they were wild animals deserved to be locked up. But they were not alone. Thousands of other abused children were howling and wailing, screaming and shouting, or simply sitting there staring blankly at one another.

Saphire had seen countless of these children being helplessly pulled from their cages but never returning. Every time one of the scary monsters in white lab coats came in she would pray that it wouldn’t be her. Like now. The vicious creature lurked around the room, peering into each tight and confined space in order to determine which would be his next victim. Saphire’s tiny six year old brain could only imagine what he would do to her. Probably eat her or feed her to his minions.
Not me, not me, not me, not me… She thought this until her brain hurt and the words began to swirl together. The man was coming closer and closer to her cage. He was reaching towards the barred door, fumbling for one of his many keys. The tiny girl squeezed her eyes closed and clenched her fists in anxious apprehensiveness and dread. Not me!

It wasn’t her.

It wasn’t her, but instead her sibling who was taken from their prison. There was a small struggle as Topaz finally accepted her fate and let her emotions out, screaming and clawing at her twin for help. In vain both girls used all of their strength to attack the man separating them. It was no use and he quickly slapped them, shocking them into silence.

Topaz regained her senses and stopped crying to smile brightly at Saphire. For a moment it was as if they were no longer in the institution. One might have thought the girls had escaped if they examined the brightness of the close lipped expression. Yet behind the happiness was sadness and a feeling of acceptance that no six year old girl deserved to feel. Topaz’s expression was of one who accepted, perhaps even welcomed, Death.

“Don’t worry Saphire. I’ll be back and soon we’ll be just like we were.”

Liar.

Hey, hey! You, you! I don’t like your girlfriend!” ((Girlfriend| Avril Lavigne ))
The loud music blasted into her ears awakening Saphire with a start. She grabbed her phone and, in one fluid motion, stood up, removed her head phones from her ears letting them hang around her neck, and paused the song. Judging from the sun it was still early morning, yet later than it had been. A quick check of the time confirmed this theory. Apparently Saphire had slept through most of her playlist.

Her dream floated across her mind haunting her. It seemed she could not escape the horror of her past. Unconsciously her frail hand flew to her left shoulder where the number 01 was branded. Then, with a shake of her head intended to clear the memory from her mind, she turned and set out back towards the house, her pony tail, which was tied up with a ribbon, bobbing as she walked.

As she neared the house the delectable smell of bacon hit her. The thought of grease and fat usually disgusted her but bacon was one of her few exceptions of this distatse. Her mouth was almost watering as she opened the door and the savory scent became stronger.
However it was to her displeasure when she saw the many people in the room chattering and talking. It wasn’t that she disliked her fellow Changelings but instead that she felt awkward and nervous near these people she was still relatively unfamiliar with after three years.

She crept around the edges of the room, head down, attempting to make herself go unnoticed. Once she darted out into the open to grab a particularly crispy piece of bacon on which she promptly began to nibble. She then proceeded to make her escape out of the room which was growing more crowded by the minute as shifters made their way down to the kitchen, lured by the smell.

She almost made it out as it was, until a flying, hissing, fur ball practically ran straight into her. Startled she stumbled back a bit before she recognized the luscious coat that belonged to the cat that she had nearly collided with. A smile crossed her face as she picked up the small kitten and gave her a small hug, though not tight enough to constrict the animal.

Reyna!” A pain behind her eyes, much like a headache, signaled that they were changing colors, probably turning a golden honey, perhaps speckled with green, which signified she was happy. ((OOC: I did mention in her bio that, much like Reyna, Saphire cannot control her powers. I forgot to mention however that, unlike Reyna’s, they change with her emotions. Sometimes if she concentrates hard enough she can change her features at will but this is rare.)) Her smile was replaced by a frown as she attempted to change her eyes back to normal. She never had liked her abilities as they were defective and she had not been born with them. However it was to no avail and she soon gave up trying. They would change back eventually.

She lowered the kitten to the ground and crouched next to it, now oblivious to the once intimidating crowd in the kitchen. She began to stroke the soft, smooth fur of the cat, a habit of hers ever since she had become acquainted with Reyna. By now she knew that the girl had no control over her shape shifting powers.

How long ago did you change? Gosh, it must be terrible not knowing when it’s going to happen.” She stopped her rhythmic motion to survey the chatter before her. She had a special connection with Reyna. She felt as if the girl got her as no one else (except perhaps her brother) did. Her feelings were strange. She yearned to have such a connection with others but always separated herself from them.

Perhaps we should go somewhere else.” The chatter and rather annoying feelings of loneliness were both irritating. She was just about to stand up and lead Reyna to a more quiet environment when a blue haired man in possession of a puppy appeared and, in doing so, blocked the door way.

Ugh, sun. He really never had been a morning person, unlike his sister who always seemed to have gone somewhere or another in the early dawn. But however much he longed to go back to bed he knew that once he had woken up it was futile to try and get him to slumber until the next morning.

Mikuo forced himself out of the heaven of rumpled bed sheets and pillows before pulling on a pair of fresh jeans and a grey tee. He didn’t bother to brush his hair with an actual hairbrush but instead ran his fingers through the mess in order to partially tame it. He then proceeded to head downstairs towards the kitchen where an alluring smell attracted him.

It turned out the source of the scent was some slightly charred bacon which lay out for anyone to grab a piece. Mikuo took the silent offer and grabbed a slice hurriedly putting it in his mouth and letting it hang out so that he could prepare some toast.
“…take Mikuo and Jason with me.” The blue haired boy perked up when he heard his name, looking up in the middle of buttering his toast, much like the manner of a dog. Having finished off the meat he was now eating the crunchy, slightly burnt, bread as he made his way over to the speaker. Jennora was planning something with Chris and apparently he was involved.

Might I ask where you’ll be taking me Jennora? It’d be nice to know my destination before I go.” He paused making a show of looking her up and down before speaking again, “Then again, perhaps going somewhere with you isn’t such a bad thing.” Mikuo laughed good naturedly to show he was only joking and not seriously flirting with her. He had no romantic interest in the woman as of yet although she was nice looking.

Morning Chris. Same to you, Lottie.” He addressed the man in front of him before calling across the room towards the girl dressed as fashionable as ever. It seemed that for no particular reason Mikuo was in a good mood. He usually was. Although sometimes he resorted back to his true personality, still a relatively good natured boy but one with dark secrets.

((OOC: Alright I’m going to have to end it here. Sorry the endings are a bit abrupt but, as always, I’m running low on time.))

ImageIt had been a long night for Claire, who had decided upon resisting sleep. Sleep was unnecessary for those who could keep themselves busy, and she had done an excellent job at that. Besides, not all dreams were good ones, so it was not needed to waist her time on such things.

Despite the slight buzzing of tiredness inside of her skull, the young Changeling was as alert as ever, gnawing frustrated on a pencil as she tried to piece together the puzzle laid out for her. She had been working on blueprints, spread out across the room that she had claimed as her "workroom". What she was building, she was not sure of. It could possibly have been a masterpiece if it wasn't for a blip in the instructions. Somehow, when writing how to build some incredible machine, she had made a mathematical error, once that had ruined the entirety of the project she had been working on.

Claire let out a grunt of despair, throwing her pencil across the room. The writing utensil snapped as it slammed into the wall, its remains clattering to the floor. Claire felt a pang of guilt in her heart, as being able to turn into objects gave her some sort of sympathy for the inanimate. It wasn't that she didn't have anything else to write with, as she kept a whole book bag’s worth of pens behind her left ear, just simply adoration for the unhuman. Picking up the snapped pencil, she placed it in her pocket, making a mental note to fix it later.

It was then, when she settled back down to continue her work, that the smell of food caused her mind to drift far away from the world of mathematics and calculations. Figuring, after a night spent of working, that a break was due, she clambered out of her chair and stepped into the hall, her bare feet pattering against the wooden floor. She followed the scent to the kitchen, quickly adjusting her sweater and running her fingers through her unchanging straight hair.

Stepping into the kitchen, Claire found an array of hardly familiar faces. She blankly locked eye contact with a few people before awkwardly lowering her head and marching toward the bacon, which was quite crisp, but hardly so in the eyes of the girl who preferred hers practically in ashes.

As she didn't feel in the mood to chat, she settled down in the corner of the room, pulling a pen out from behind her ear and doodling angles, variables, and such on her hand. Eventually, her notes turned to pictures from the most recent horror films she had seen, but she decided it would have been better to keep those depictions to herself.

A frightening snarl slipped from the dark cat's throat, making the wild life around her quiet and freeze. It was to early in the morning for so much noise. Katherina had left early that morning and shifted into her black leopard form, deciding she would do some hunting. It took her all early morning but she had finally caught herself a nice, decent sized buck. Katherina hated wasting money on food when she and any other animal shifter could hunt and gather. Her Aunt Carrie, before she found out what Katherina was, had taught Katherina to survive on her own and now a days it came in handy. That and she liked the taste of wild meat instead of packaged store purchased. The rest of her walk was quiet and once she neared the house she and the other shifter's were staying in she instantly hear the noise's of chatter. Katherina dropped the buck behind the shed, deciding she would cut it up later, and shifted back into human form. Fixing her long pale blonde hair and straightening her attire of shorts and a t-shirt, so she wouldn't look like a mess, Katherina walked into the house and avoided the kitchen.

"Barulhento" Katherina mumbled as she passed the kitchen. Yet out of no where a ball of white fur shot out and Katherina stumbled, tripping over her feet to avoid squishing the kitten she knew was the younger shifter, Reyna. A sharp, quick pain traveled up her spine as she fell on her bum.

"Um pouco de cuidado" Katherina said softly as she gently grabbed the kitten and pulled her to Katherina. Concern was evident in the usually stoic woman's appear as she checked over the kitten, making sure she hadn't harmed her. Katherina sighed in relief when she saw no damage.

"You must be careful, if I hadn't seen you I could have stepped on you" Katherina scolded slightly, she knew it wasn't the girls fault that she couldn't control her shifting but she could be more careful and not run around the house. She stood up with Reyna and walked to the living room, placing the white kitten on the couch then walked away and headed up stairs to her room. Katherina's room is where she spent most of her time, idle chatter really not being her thing. She instead would sketch or do something to entertain herself. Once Katherina reached her room she flicked on the light and breathed in a sigh as the familiar scent of vanilla wafted into her nose. Was it strange that she felt bad for almost stepping then scolding Reyna? An uneasy feeling rested in the pit of her stomach and Katherina sighed before grabbed her black sketch book, pencils and putting her camera around her neck before walking back down stairs and into the living room. Katherina took a seat next to Reyna on the couch and started to silently draw. If anyone had walked in at the moment they would most likely be puzzled cause Katherina was really never seen around the house, people only ever getting a few glimpses of her before she was gone, and she never had sat down with anyone. As she drew Katherina wondered what Reyna was thinking at the moment but decided not to ask. One reason being Katherina knew she would only get a meow in return and the other reason being cause Katherina enjoyed the silence. She finished up her picture and looked at her work.

Image
"What do you think?" she questioned as she turned the picture over so Reyna could see it. Katherina had drawn a portrait of Reyna in her current form, a white kitten. Geez Katherina was just being strange today, first she's feeling bad, then she's talking to someone and now she's showing that person her work. She never showed anyone her art, ever. I must not have gotten enough sleep. Yes that was it, her weirdness was caused by lack of sleep and wasn't signs of her softening towards anyone in the house.

Reyna
Image

Today was not starting out very well for the fluffy white kitten. She hated being picked up against her well and so when Jennora picked her up, she hissed and tried to claw her way down. "Hey there. Not exactly sure who you are, but you clearly don't know how to control your changing DNA." Jennora said with a bright smile. "Don't worry it gets better honey." The words stung, Reyna was hurt considering the fact that Jennora was the one who rescued her and it was in this very form that she and the older woman had become acquainted. Reyna stopped struggling and walked away with her tail between her legs, about to head upstairs to find Sapphire when Jason came down carrying a small, floppy eared puppy. Reyna jumped out of the way just in time as she was about to get kicked and hissed, swiping at the air where he had stood only seconds before.

Reyna hopped down the staircase, fur standing on end as she skittered across the floor, straight into Sapphire's legs. "Reyna!" The kitten was pleased that at least someone recognized her and her hisses turned into purrs, she bumped her head against Sapphire's palm lovingly, her tail swishing lazily back and forth. “How long ago did you change? Gosh, it must be terrible not knowing when it’s going to happen.” Reyna responded with a clipped, "mew," as if this answered Sapphire's question. It was awful and it was terribly painful, the only thing worse than randomly turning into an animal was getting stuck with a few of its attributes when she finally turned human again.

“Perhaps we should go somewhere else.” The fur ball responded with another meow, but Jason stepped forward, blocking the only exit to the kitchen that didn't lead outside and Reyna was not allowed outside. She nudged her head against Sapphire's foot and then hopped up a few steps to the puppy Jason was putting on the floor. She sniffed him suspiciously, walking in circles around him before pouncing playfully at his tail. She didn't know who the puppy was, but he seemed awfully familiar. It was at that moment that the scent of bacon wafted into her nose and while she remembered that she agreed to go somewhere with Sapphire, the temptation of food and the growling of her tiny stomach was distracting.

The kitten darted across the floor, nearly hitting another person and Reyna mentally scolded herself for allowing her animal instincts to take over. She was suddenly picked up by the scruff of her neck and hissed in protest, but was ultimately carried out of the kitchen and placed on the couch in the living room. Reyna looked up to see who her captor was to find the girl who she referred to as The Ghost because she was was hardly ever seen and if you were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of her, once you blinked she would be gone. Needless to say Reyna was not surprised when the girl, she believed her name was Katherina, disappeared after a quick scolding about being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Reyna settled onto the couch, her wide kitty cat eyes widening even more when Katherina returned and sat next to her for a few minutes, silently sketching. "What do you think?" Came from the ghost of a person beside her and Reyna turned to stare at her reflection, she jumped and hissed, darting behind a pillow before the girl remembered herself and the fact that she was not actually a cat. Slowly, she made her way back and touched the paper with a small, soft, furry paw and gave a mew of approval before hissing at the barking that came from the kitchen.

"I guess I'll go into town to get food today." Chris was about to open his mouth to tell Jennora what a wonderful idea that was when she beat him to it, "And before you say anything, you aren't coming with me. There's other things you have to do." He frowned and sighed, knowing she was right while he glared at the list of things that he needed to do that the two had comprised the night before. "I just don't feel safe with you going into town without me," even if she was taking two of their best and most experienced shifters. Speaking of Mikuo and Jason, the two emerged from the staircase, one after the other. Except, one was carrying a floppy eared puppy and the other had his hands shoved in his pockets.
“Might I ask where you’ll be taking me Jennora? It’d be nice to know my destination before I go.”
"Jennora would like to take you and Jason to the town to do some shopping today," Chris replied for Jennora, hoping Mikuo would be willing to go. Chris knew that anywhere Jennora went, Jason would follow. The woman could jump off a metaphorical cliff and her brother wouldn't even hesitate to go after her.

He tried not to twitch when Mikuo began to flirt with Jennora. He felt protective over the woman for reasons he couldn't decide and even though the two were not exclusive their feelings for each other were quite obvious. Chris's attention drifted for a second before a strong, melodic voice floated towards his ears. "Congratulations, you have once again managed to drag me from my beautiful bed and even more stunning dream about Rihanna's latest scandal. So what are we doing today?"
A small smile played on the man's lips at Lottie's words. He had never met a shape shifter that was so concerned with the pop culture of the human world.

"We have a long list of things we need to accomplish today and I'm going to need your help. Oh and spoiler alert, Rihanna didn't win a Grammy." He had seen the headline in People last time he had been in town, but that was two weeks ago and he had only gotten a glimpse at the magazine. In fact, Chris wasn't even sure if it had been about Rihanna in the first place but he did see her name somewhere next to it.

Jason happened to walk into the kitchen just as Christopher was telling Mikuo what Jennora's plans were. He smiled at the excitement that he was going to do today, completely forgetting he was holding a puppy. He groaned as Dyson bit his hand and jumped out of it. Dyson barked at him on the ground before running of into the living room. Jason ignored him as he continued on into the kitchen.

He slapped Chris on the back playfully. "Hello." He said before moving onto his sister, he hugged her from behind and picked her up, laughing as she screamed at him to put her down. Only when he did he gave her a big peck on the cheek. "Oh come on, I know you love me!"

"Shut up Jason! Jennora told him, he only laughed and threw his hands up in defeat. "So what are we doing today?" He asked happily. Jason looked up for a moment to see Katherina and felt the butterflies start in his stomach, making him sick. He quickly looked down at the floor before looking back up at Mikuo, Jennora and Chris. He noticed Lottie was there as well. "Hey sexy" He told her with a flirty smile. Only to get punched by his sister. "Ow.. Gosh." He said rubbing his arm.

Image
Jennora smiled at Mikuo's compliment. "Of course I'm fun to be with." She said as she rocked herself back and forth, bumping into Mikuo on purpose. "I'm just so pretty." She said, sounding full of herself. It didn't last long though, "Nah, just kidding! But I hear I'm fun to be around!" She hoped she was, otherwise she'd have a lot of people person problems. The three P's. Fantastic.

Jennora did not like being picked up by her brother, and when he kissed her she wanted to smack him. Though she resisted the urge not too, instead she watched as others came out before answering Christopher's first remark to herself. "I know you feel safer if your with me, but we don't really have time for that. Why do I get the feeling this is because you want to spend time with me?" She laughed at that. "How about we have a slumber party in my room tonight?" Jennora purposely made it sound very wrong

Jennora laughed at the look that Jason gave her and shook her head, looking around for a final attempt at finding something she wanted, though at this point it seemed like she couldn't find anything she wanted. Jennora was a super picky eater, so if there was nothing she liked, she wouldn't eat. Plain and simple.

Jennora turned to Mikuo and Jason. "If your willing to go I'll be ready in two hours. If any of you need me, I'll be in my room." She gave the two a smile and waved at Chris before taking a piece of bacon and heading back upstairs. She passed by the living room on her way and peaked over at Katherina's art piece. She leaned over the back of the couch and pet both Dyson and Reyna as she talked to Katherina. "I think it looks stunning. What are your plans today? She asked yawning into the back of the couch.

Dyson didn't like being squeezed to death so he bit his brother's hand. Not hard enough to leave a bark, but sure as hell hard enough to be dropped. Dyson saddly, wasn't a cat at the moment and landed hard on his ass. Though he walked it off like it was nothing. He spotted Reyna and made his way over to her. Not realizing that his large puppy ears were a bit long for him, he tripped over them each second.

When he finally got to the living room, he was standing right in front of the couch, he looked up at ow tall it was, and decided that he wouldn't hurt himself. Instead he pawed at Katherina's legs, making sure not to stratch her as he did. He turned his head for a moment to notice that Sapphire was on the other couch. He still hadn't told anyone that she was his sister, and nobody ever asked so Dyson didn't think it was a big deal. He wondered if she knew that the DNA she was given was his.

Dyson turned back to Katherina when he was magically picked up and placed in her lap. He quickly moved over to Reyna. He really liked the girl, but would never tell her in person, and he tried really hard not to show any signs of affection towards her in person as well.

Though right now... Was a completely different story. He licked her nose and around her mouth before nugging against her, as if to hug her. Being a cat, he was prepared for an attack, though some cats were friendly enough to play with him like this. He could always turn into a kitten as well though, but he liked being a puppy. That or a very large cat. Like a white tiger, or a baby white tiger. Those were his favorites.

((OOC: I'm so sorry if I forgot someone if i did please just jump in anywhere :). ))

A ghost of a smile played on Katherina's lips as Reyna pawed the picture in approval. Being so caught up in the kitten Katherina barely registered something pawing on her leg as she unconsciously picked it up. The next thing she knew she had a puppy on her lap and Katherina physically stiffened as she placed the puppy down. She then noticed the girl, Jennora, talking to her. The living room was starting to get a bit to crowded for Katherina.

"I um.....was thinking of heading into town, to get my film developed but I must first go and skin a deer" Katherina said polity. She couldn't just ignore the girl when she was talking to Katherina, that would be rude.

"Pardon me" she excused herself as she grabbed her sketch book and left the living room. She went up to her room and put her sketch in its rightful spot. Katherina was always an organized person and her room reflected that personality. She went over to her closet and grabbed a pair of black coverall's, a t-shirt, socks and some black rubber boots. She quickly change then through her long hair into a high ponytail and braided it. Once finished Katherina went down stairs and reluctantly entered the kitchen.

"Good morning" she said just to be polite as she walked pasted everyone and went into the drawer where she kept her gloves and hunting knives kit which had her skinning and butchering knife. Katherina didn't care what people thought of her doing this, hunting was a natural part of anyone's life including humans. Katherina just wasn't the girly type to squirm away from anything bloody and gross. She grabbed her tool's and started to head out, weaving through the bodies of the other shifter's as she made her way towards the back door. But just as she was about to get through she bumped into someone and in the process almost dropping her tools.

"Sorry" she said, slight panic in her voice making her British accent more noticeable, as she caught a loose knife that seemed ready to stab the person in the foot. She placed the knife back in the leather pouch and looked up at the person she had bumped into. He had blue hair and if memory served her right his name was Jason. A slight pinch of pain shot through her hand and Katherina glanced down to see crimson liquid coat the pale inside of her palm. She must have cut herself when she caught the knife. Without a word she moved to the skin and turned it on, rinsing her hand off with cold water. She inspected the wound, now seeing that the knife had created a pretty large flesh wound in her skin, reaching from her pinky finger to her thumb and the wound was deeper then she thought. No alarm really, it was just a hand wound, but sadly it was her right hand meaning she wasn't going to be able to draw or paint for a few days.

"Would anyone happen to know where some bandages are?" Katherina questioned the people around the kitchen.

Lennox sighed as he got back to the safe house. He had just delivered this week's shipment to the shop in town so, thankfully, he wouldn't have to worry about it until next week. He walked into the house and removed his coat, hanging it on the hook then walked into the living room and spotted the kitten and puppy.

"Hey guys" he smiled brightly as he walked over to the couch and gave them each a pet. He sent a smile at Jennora and waved. Then the lingering scent of bacon caught his attention and his stomach growled loudly. The thing sounds like an angry animal. Now one thought was on Lennox's mind. Food! He rushed into the kitchen.

"Well hello everyone" Lennox said cheerfully. He was a it surprised to see Katherina of all people out and about. When she asked for bandages Lennox went to work.

"I'll get them" he shouted already halfway upstairs. He went into his room and into the bathroom, him being from a military family he knew to always be prepared so he kept a first aid kit underneath the sink. He grabbed the kit then went back down stairs, his long legs allowing him to take two stairs with ease.

"Come here Rina" he ordered and gently took her hand. He dried the wound and put disinfecting ointment on the cut before he expertly wrapped it up in a white bandage. "All better".

"Hey are you guys going into town today? Well if so I just wanted to let you know that I put the store's money in the account so we're all good" Lennox stated quickly as his attention was drawn to the left over bacon. He grabbed the rest of the pieces then went to the fridge grabbed a tomato, lettuce, mustard and mayo. Then he grabbed a loaf of bread and put the contents of the counter and made himself a BLT sandwich. Right after the sandwich was made Lennox took a big bite and his growling stomach silenced.

Reyna
Image

Reyna had been settling onto a pillow, her tail curling around her body when the puppy was plopped onto the couch. She walked over curiously, hissing when he got too close to her and jumping back. Again she attempted to move closer and he licked her nose, Reyna brushed her now wet fur with her front paws, attempting to smooth her silky white coat back down and wondering how much longer until her body decided to change back. She could try to force her body to change but the result would be painful and she would most likely end up stuck with a cat tail.

So Reyna waited and took a swipe at Dyson's tail as it wagged back and forth quickly. What was he so happy about? She wondered when Lennox suddenly walked in and pet her. What was with everyone today? She had never seen the whole house in such a good mood. Maybe it was the bacon or the clear morning skies? She wondered when the cracking noise started and Reyna jumped off the couch, biting back her screams and drawing blood as her body changed, her fur changing to skin and her bones lengthening until she was at her full height. Reyna quickly grabbed one of the towels out of a nearby laundry basket and wrapped it around her naked body. She blushed furiously when she realized Dyson had been watching the whole time and nervously licked the blood that had been dribbling down her chin.

"I'm gonna go," she said awkwardly, the pink shade in her cheeks darkening as she turned around and walked to the kitchen where her pile of clothes still lay in a heap on the floor. Hopefully the others were too occupied by the bacon to notice as she picked her belongings up and headed to the bathroom to put her garments back on. Reyna felt much better once she was human again and went to fix herself some cereal and milk since Lennox had eaten the rest of the bacon. She poured the rest of the Honey-Nut-Cheerios into a chipped plastic blue bowl and poured some milk in. The kitchen was too crowded and so she headed back to the living room, sitting on the floor across from where puppy Dyson was still on the couch.

Christopher

Chris felt his embarrassment as his cheeks flushed a bright red. "I know you feel safer if your with me, but we don't really have time for that. Why do I get the feeling this is because you want to spend time with me?" Jennova laughed, sounding so carefree "How about we have a slumber party in my room tonight?" He covered his cheeks with his hands, playing it down by resting his elbows on the table to look like he was simply holding his head up.

His attention turned to the small blonde Lottie and a slight smile played on his lips"Wahh! Chris that not fair!
"Sorry Lottie, that's what happens when you ignore your turn to do the laundry."
"I am supposed to be the only gossip monger in this house!" But Chris was too busy looking over the list to fret over Jason's affectionate kiss to his sister and Lottie's complaints. "Call me when you want to start work, I'm heading back to bed!"

"I'll need you in about an hour!" He called after Lottie and checked off one thing on his list, the fire wood. The next thing was fixing a broken solar panel and then he would need Lottie's help to take care of a varmint problem in the food stores. Maybe he should ask Katherina instead? He wasn't sure if Lottie was squeamish about rats or not. Speak of the devil Katherina appeared before him, asking about band aids but Lennox had already covered that and was disinfecting the wound before Chris could even speak up.

"Oh good, Lennox you're awake. There's something I wanted to talk to you about," he said, catching the man mid chew. He didn't mean to interrupt Lennox's breakfast but with all the hubbub this morning Chris doubted he would have another chance. "Hey are you guys going into town today? Well if so I just wanted to let you know that I put the store's money in the account so we're all good."

"Well, actually I wanted to talk to you about possibly opening an emergency account? One that the government wouldn't be able to trace back to us and we could use in case of emergencies?" They had two regular accounts, one belonged to Lennox and his store, the other was the one that Lennox had opened to help provide for the Changeling safe house. Chris was very grateful to the man, but he knew that avoiding a run-in with the government might be in their near future, especially with the news of so many celebrities coming out of the proverbial shape shifter closet.

Jennora smiled and thought about what Katherina said as she walked away. Jennora looked down at the kitten and the puppy. "Reyna if you want, you can hide away in my room." She told the girl before Lennox came in.

Jennora waved at Lennox after giving her little brother a concerning look due to the fact that he was clawing at the couch. Christopher wouldn't like that one bit. Dyson stopped after realizing he was being stared at, making Jennora laugh at her brother before heading upstairs to fetch the keys and her purse. She had a golden credit card from her family. They were hiding on the other side of the country, there was too many of them to come here with her. Last she heard her little sister was on her way over, though it had been weeks since she had last heard from the girl, Jennora was beginning to get worried.

She knew what was happening here, the government probably had gotten ahold of her little sister... Jennora had to go back there, and she had to do it alone. This would be tough, but she was too stubborn and loyal to let someone else help her get her sister out. Family sticks together, no matter what.

Jennora knew that Dyson could never go back to a place like that and Jason didn't care, he was an ass like that. If she were to take one other person it would have to be someone that she could trust to do the right thing.

Jason couldn't help but over hear what Lennox and Christopher were talking about. He literally laughed at loud, they were talking about money! "I love how you two always forget that money is never an issue with us. Or at least if you would take my money." His family was rich, and always sent them money, it was a little convenient for him, but he loved it!

Jason looked at Christopher when he spoke next. "You know, I will have no control over how much stuff Jenn comes back with. Maybe you should go with her, I'll do something else on that list." He suggested, he trusted Christopher with Jennora, so he could stand being away from her for a while.

Saphire gave a half smile that lasted for a fraction of a second when Reyna nudged her and mewed playfully at the dog the man had put on the floor. What was his name? She believed it to be Jason but she wasn’t 100 percent sure as she made little contact with him. For some reason he looked awfully familiar, having a close resemblance to her brother; a coincidence, she was sure. She stood, her eyes still averted from the gaze of others, and brushed past the blue haired man on her way to the living room. It was definitely much too crowded in the kitchen for her liking and she had some idea of pursuing Reyna who had been picked up against her will and taken to the next room over.

She sat across from the Reyna’s kidnapper, a girl whose name escaped her, and the kitten herself and for a few moments entertained herself by watching the playful swipes of the puppy and kitten. Soon however her head phones once again filled the silence as she placed them over her ears. Though silence was not at all unwelcomed, Saphire still preferred the melodies which comforted her at any time. The headphones were like a gateway to some sort of safe sanction which Saphire loved to bask. She began to hum along slightly to the tune as the grey of relaxed fatigue settled over her and her eyelids began to droop.

A sharp crack startled her and she jumped a little, the music device disconnecting from the wire that joined it to the head phones and automatically pausing. After fumbling to plug it back in she looked up to find the cause of the commotion. Reyna stood there in the nude, looking shocked at suddenly changing, before agilely snatching a nearby towel and rushing out of the room.

Saphire stood hesitantly, fighting between the choices of going after her or letting her be alone for a moment. After all it was quite embarrassing to be in Reyna’s situation and Saphire wasn’t sure if the girl would appreciate her following. This small dilemma was solved, however, when the girl chose to come back, fully clothed, and sat down on the floor. Saphire made her way over and did the same. What was one to say in this situation? The blue haired girl didn’t know and so simply stayed silent, her face as expressionless as always.

"Jennora would like to take you and Jason to the town to do some shopping today," Chris answered his question before Jennora did, and Mikuo turned his attention back towards Chris.

Sounds fun. I’m up for it.” It had been a while since he’d been to town and Mikuo was definitely looking forward to it. Though he would have to hide his true identity as a skin changer in the town, he almost felt normal again when he was there. He was no longer the abominable freak but a regular human.

He finished of his toast as Jennora spoke to him playfully bumping into him. "Of course I'm fun to be with. I'm just so pretty." She spoke in mock conceit before laughing, claiming that she was only kidding.

Mikuo smirked at her and rolled his eyes before his attention was diverted. His sister, whom he hadn’t noticed before, was leaving the kitchen, attempting to be inconspicuous. So she had been here all along then. He maneuvered his way over to the door, bumping into quite a few people in the process, and finally making his way into the living room.

His sister was sitting next to Reyna with their backs turned towards him, facing a puppy he did not recognize. It was hard to decipher who was who when in a different form but Mikuo supposed that was the point. He still could not fathom how Saphire could recognize Reyna in her kitten form. Perhaps it was because she loved cats or perhaps because she was so close to her. Speaking of which, it really was unhealthy for her not expand her social life. It was awesome and all that she had a tight bond with such a reliable and kind of cute girl, but Saphire was in need of other relationships. For some reason she didn’t see that.

Mikuo snuck up behind his sister and covered her eyes. “Guess who!” He said it in a childish kind of way making it obvious that it was him. Saphire gave a small jolt but otherwise did not react. After a small pause the boy removed his hands and swung around to sit next to the girls on the floor.

Well you’re no fun.” He faked a pout before breaking back into a grin and ruffling his younger sibling’s hair. “So what are you girls up to?

Reyna
Image

Reyna crunched down on her cereal, the silence between her and Sapphire filled with the sound of chewing. She picked up her bowl once all the cereal was gone and slurped down her milk. Reyna was about to go put the bowl in the sink when Sapphire's brother, Mikou came to sit with them. The brunette put the bowl down, figuring she might as well stay for a few more minutes and make polite conversation.

“So what are you girls up to?” Reyna contemplated as to how she should answer. She could always give a short, one syllable reply such as okay, however that would sound rude and indicate she would make no further attempts to converse. If she answered with good and you? It would seem like she actually cared about how he felt, when in fact, she was indifferent. So Reyna settled for, "fine. We were just savoring the silence of morning."

The girl left to go put her bowl in the sink and came back quickly, sitting back down on the floor. She was still embarrassed that nude encounter earlier and could only hope that tomorrow it she would find it laughable. Reyna sighed and brushed a strand of loose hair to the side, she looked up at Mikou and Sapphire and gave the two a wide smile. "How did you two sleep?"

Christopher
Image

Chris directed a sigh at Jason when he spoke up about the problem. "I love how you two always forget that money is never an issue with us. Or at least if you would take my money."
"I realize you've never had to worry about things like a budget, but if the government is tracking us, or your family; which I can assure you they are, then we need to be more careful about how much we spend and where the money comes from." He sighed and rubbed his temples. Chris came from a rich family himself, he knew how it was, having everything you could ever want and more. Never being satisfied with anything because he had everything, but Chris had been cut off and had learned pretty quickly how to budget.

"I can name four things in this house alone that the suits are will stop at nothing to have back." Suits was another name for the crazed doctors, scientists, and government officials that tested and tortured children because of their DNA. Sapphire, Dyson, Lottie, and Reyna were all very valuable to the Facility for the Genetically Divergent. Then another person spoke up, "Don't you think the government would be tracking that? Its not normal for large amounts of money to be transferred to an accountant in a small town, a shop's earnings are less noticeable and less of a risk of the government finding us and your parents, it doesn't matter how smart they are about it either." He had taken that into consideration and had figured the amount would be just under five hundred dollars, not enough to draw attention to themselves, but enough to last a few weeks if an emergency arose, plus most shops had emergency surplus and money to fall back on in case their stores closed down.

"Lennox, Christopher I have some money from paintings I have sold we can put that into the emergency account."
"Thank you Katherina, that is very kind of you to offer your hard earned money for us to use and Jason, if you want to stay rather than go to the town then talk to your sister. She was set on having you go with her and you know it is almost impossible to change Jennora's mind." Chris knew that Jennora's stubbornness would end up being the woman's fatal flaw; that and her love for her family. Jason was really the only one that could change the woman's mind once it had been made up.

Its not normal for large amounts of money to be transferred to an accountant in a small town, a shop's earnings are less noticeable and less of a risk of the goverment finding us and your parents, it doesn't matter how smart they are about it neither" Katherina had told Jason, making him laugh at her stupidity, then again not everyone knew about his family so he couldn't exactly blame her. Not even Christopher knew about his family. Hell, he wasn't sure if Jennora or Dyson knew.

"You seriously think my family is that stupid, honey?" Jason said to Katherina. "Our family has been hiding from the government for years. My entire family is Changelings, I think they know how to get away from the government. Plus, they've always been putting the same amount of money in our accounts since we were kids. We're spoiled little rich kids who have a shit ton of money but never really spend it unless we really want too. Jason shook his head and laughed again, leaning on the counter as he did. He looked at Christopher as he spoke as well. "I'm a lot more skilled then you realize, Christopher. Getting away from the government is too easy. My key to it, is to never get attached to someone you could lose." He told Christopher, the only person he really cares about is his sister, he has a few feelings for others but nothing compares to the love he has for his twin sister.

He laughed at Christopher's comment on Jennora's stubbornness. "You all are making my morning a little more exciting. I don't really want to go into town today. I don't feel like turning into a car and having people touch me in places I don't want to be touched in." Jason said as he walked away. He didn't leave anyone, any time to answer anything of what he said. A few minutes after he left he saw Katherina go outside, and decided to go talk to Jennora.

His sister had just gotten back from her room and was sitting in the living room with Sapphire, Reyna and Clarie. "What is this? A girl's party.. Oh no wait, Dyson's here. Well I guess it is a girl's party." He smiled at his brother as the puppy slowly changed into a big black scary wolf and barked loud at Jason, almost making him jump.

Jennora was having a pretty good day so far, she already had a plan to get her little sister back and was heading down into the living room to hang out with others before she decided to leave. She wasn't worried about getting back into the government to find her little sister, the only thing that sort of got to her was the fact that she might have to get other Changelings out as well, her little sister seemed to care too much about others then Jennora would hope for. The whole "we can come back later" won't exactly work on the woman.

Jennora smiled when Mikuo came in, she had thought since day one that he looked almost incidental to Jason. That was probably why she enjoyed being around him so much. "So what are you girls up to?" [/b] He asked after playing with Sapphire a little bit. "Not much, just waiting for you to get ready. I think I might want to head out a little earlier. I want to go on a small shopping spree."

Jennora looked at Clarie as she walked into the living room and sat down across from the couch that Jennora was on. She then looked at the small puppy on the couch next to her and picked him up, setting him on her lap and starting to pet him. He playfully bit her hand and growled, making her fake growl back at him. When she was done playing with him she patted his back and looked up at Clarie smiling. [i] "So, uh cold weather we're having today, right?"
She had asked Jennora.

"I suppose, it's warmer then it's been in a while. That is why I decided to wear a dress today." She shrugged. "Clarie, would you like to join me in my shopping spree this morning? I'll buy you whatever your heart desires, I would just like another girl with me." Then she looked at Mikuo. "No offense."

Jason walked in a second after she was done talking and she smiled at him, and then laughed and moaned an "Ow" as the puppy on her lap dramatically grew in under 5 seconds. She hated that Dyson was so good at that. "Jason your so mean to Dyson, what did he ever do to you?"

"Oh I'm just kidding! Calm down Jenn." Jason told her before taking a breath in and sitting next to her. He looked at her as he spoke next, the look on his face almost creeped her out. "So I don't want to go into town, can you just take Christopher? Think of it as a date... With Mikuo... And possibly Clarie. Might as well throw Reyna and Dyson in too. Then it could be a triple date!" He said the last part all excited, making her laugh and shake her head. "Whatever, fine. Though I don't think Reyna is ready to go out yet." Jennora looked at Reyna. "Sorry dear, I care about you too much."

"Overprotective bitch.." She heard Jason muffle under his breath and slapped him in the back of the head. Calling him an ass as she did.

Dyson watched everyone around him and loved the extra attention that Jennora had given him. After Jason came in however he quickly changed his appearance into a black wolf because he knew it would scare his brother at least somewhat, even if he didn't show it on the outside, Dyson had a feeling on the inside it would scare him a little.

Dyson moved from Jennora's lap whenever she said 'Ow' and moved over to Reyna, licking her cheek before walking away into the front room and laying on the floor. He didn't understand his feelings for Reyna, but he knew he was probably annoying the girl so he thought it would be best for him if he just left. He watched others pass by, but always kept his head on the floor and his eyes up. Soon enough he found his eyes shutting and himself drifting off to sleep, remaining in this form.

Jennora answered quite pleasantly as she averred she wanted to go out on a shopping spree. “Sounds good,” Mikuo said in answer, “I was just thinking we should leave a bit earlier. There really is no point in waiting after all. As for being ready, I am when you are.
Reyna, however, answered in, what seemed to Mikuo, a colder way. “Fine. We were just savoring the silence of the moment.” The remark sounded slightly accusatory, as if Mikuo had interrupted the silence. Okay, he had, but that was beside the point. The boy shifted a bit to lean on Saphire and clasped his hands around her neck, trapping her, while resting his head on her own. He never really liked to sit still in one place for too long for, unlike Saphire, he was unable to find serenity by being still.

When Reyna came back from the kitchen her tone had changed and was more cheerful, far better than before. She gave the two a wide smile before breaking the silence to inquire how their sleep had been. Mikuo was the first to answer, “Pretty good. Woke up a bit too early for my liking but other than that it was sound.

Saphire was quick to follow in a quiet voice, the way she always spoke. However she looked relatively happy to be surrounded by the people she was closest to. “I also slept quite pleasantly. There was this one nightmare… No its nothing.” Mikuo looked at his sister questioningly as she hesitantly trailed off. It wasn’t like her to do such a thing around him or Reyna. Whatever nightmare she had had had really freaked her out.

"What is this? A girl's party… Oh no wait, Dyson's here. Well I guess it is a girl's party." Jason entered with a teasing debut, the remark directed apparently at the dog whose name Mikuo vaguely recognized. Unfortunately, such a comment affected Mikuo as well.
Oy, I’m here too!” He let go of his sister, smiled in a slightly devious way, and enthusiastically (as well as sarcastically) patted the floor next to him. “You’re welcome to join though Jason. I’m sure you’d fit right in.

Mikuo seemed a bit offended by Reyna’s answer but Saphire didn’t mind. She had been about to say such a thing herself.

After a bit of interaction, Jennora announced that she wanted to go shopping. "Clarie, would you like to join me in my shopping spree this morning? I'll buy you whatever your heart desires, I would just like another girl with me." Then she looked at Mikuo. "No offense."

None taken.” Mikuo answered in a reasonable understanding way. As for Saphire she stayed silent, deterred by the many people talking at once. It was a bit pointless for her to speak in this moment. She usually only spoke when spoken to anyway.

She felt a bit of a pang when Jason volunteered Reyna. It wasn’t the separation that unsettled her, just the fact that she realized she’d be alone with both Mikuo and Reyna gone. But she’d rather stay at the safe house then go out into town. She didn’t exactly find traveling back out into the open where the danger of being discovered lurked as exhilarating as her brother did.

Looking around she wondered who she could spend the day with. Possibly Jason? Or would that be too awkward? She didn’t exactly know him, though it might be nice to be able to.

Reyna

Reyna's mind drifted for a moment before Mikou answered her question. “Pretty good. Woke up a bit too early for my liking but other than that it was sound.” That was good, at least someone in the house slept soundly. “I also slept quite pleasantly. There was this one nightmare… No its nothing.” Sapphire's voice was so soft, Reyna had almost missed what she said. "Do you want to talk about it?" She asked quietly, her tone and expression were both serious; when suddenly Jason popped into the room and began to tease them all.

So I don't want to go into town, can you just take Christopher? Think of it as a date... With Mikuo... And possibly Clarie. Might as well throw Reyna and Dyson in too. Then it could be a triple date!" Reyna's hopes soared when Jason suggested she go along with them to the town, she didn't even notice the part he threw in about making it a double date with Dyson. While Dyson was nice, Reyna wasn't sure of her feelings for him, or anyone for that matter. The only person Reyna knew that she was really comfortable with was Sapphire and sometimes Jennora. "Whatever, fine. Though I don't think Reyna is ready to go out yet." The look Jennora gave her seemed concerned. "Sorry dear, I care about you too much."

"Yeah, whatever," Reyna bristled, although it was probably for the best. She should be used to getting denied entry to the human world, however it stung a bit every time they said no. It wasn't her fault she was defective; her genetics just sucked. Reyna hugged her knees and stared at the carpet. At that moment Dyson came up to her and licked her cheek, she scratched behind his ear in return and watched him walk out. Lucky, the girl thought, wiping wolf saliva off of her face. He has control over his shape shifting abilities. Maybe she could ask him how he did it?

Christopher

Chris tuned out Jason's rant about money and being a rich, spoiled, brat. He was done with listening to that boy preach to the choir. He looked up when Jason said his name, listening once more as Jason's little schpiel came to an end. "I'm a lot more skilled then you realize, Christopher. Getting away from the government is too easy. My key to it, is to never get attached to someone you could lose."

"Don't use my full name." He hated his full first name, Chris preferred his nickname because Christopher sounded so.... Stuck up. Like a spoiled rich kid, which is exactly what he no longer was. Chris sighed and ran a hand through his hair, giving Katherina an apologetic look before she left with her dangerously sharp knives. Chris was surprised she hadn't impaled Jason with them. As for what he said about not getting attached to anyone... That was hard"You all are making my morning a little more exciting. I don't really want to go into town today. I don't feel like turning into a car and having people touch me in places I don't want to be touched in."

"Yeah, well convince your sister otherwise and I'd be happy to go in your place." He loved going to the town and seeing the normal people live their generic lives, unknowing to the dangers that lurked just beyond the forest. People were so peaceful when they thought their lives are in good hands.

Jennora laughed at what Mikuo had to say about leaving early. "Glad we agree. Two is a charm, but we should go in a group of three to be safe." She told him, standing up to stretch, then turning back to the couch to pick up her purse. She gave Reyna a concerning look when she said "Yeah, whatever."

"Don't 'Yeah, whatever' me. You and I both know it's for the best. I don't want to sound like your mother but when you have learned to control everything I'll take you wherever you want to go. I promise, but until then I don't want to risk your safety." Jennora shrugged, she really hated feeling like she was the mother of the house or that she was the bad guy. She'd love for Reyna to go places with her. Jennora was the one that saved her, and she put it upon herself to take care of Reyna, and she would. "I'll buy you some stuff while I'm out. And we can hang out later. For now, can you please try to cheer Dyson up?" She asked Reyna, giving her an even more concerning look.

"I'm going to go talk to Chris." Jennora told everyone, waving as she left to go back into the kitchen. When she spotted Chris her heart practically jumped out of her chest as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders from behind. She held on for a few seconds before letting go to stretch her arms behind her back, trying to pop her back as she spoke to him. "Will you please go into town with Mikuo and I? Jason doesn't want too." She asked Chris with a frown. "I want to go on a small shopping spree. Not only for myself. Oh I think Clarie is coming as well. Not sure.." She looked away thinking about if the girl had answered her. If so, Jennora didn't hear her. That would be so mean of Jennora, though she had a lot of other stuff to deal with.

Jason sighed as his sister left, looking over at Reyna. "Just to piss her off, I'll take you into town after she leaves, if you'd like." He smiled at her, loving to mess with his sister at times. He didn't think it was fair to keep Reyna locked up in here. Then again, Jason never really thought of anyone's safety. Yet even now, it didn't cross his mind at all. "Unless you enjoy hanging around a depressed kid all day." Jason shrugged.

He looked at everyone in the room, before stopping at Sapphire. "What're you doing today?" He asked her. "Would you want to help me with whatever is on Chris's list for things to do around here?"

Her breathing stopped for a moment when Jason spoke, "What're you doing today?" He asked her. "Would you want to help me with whatever is on Chris's list for things to do around here?" That had certainly scared her. She had just been thinking about Jason and here he was offering her a chance to join him. She should answer right? Of course she should answer. Saphire really wasn't all that well with others.

Nervously she pulled on her head phones as she tried and made a fairly decent attempt and sounding indifferent. "Sure, why not? I'm not exactly busy today." Saphire was glad Jason had approached her first instead of the other way around.

Saphire thought back to a few seconds before Jason had walked in. Reyna had asked if she wanted to talk about her nightmare. While it would be comforting, Saphire decided against it. She didn't need to push her problems onto others. "About what you said earlier, the thing about my nightmare. I'm fine, really. It's no big deal." She flashed a small smile and then turned to Mikuo.

A sly smile lit up her face as she looked at him. "You'd better bring me back a souvenir!" Saphire lightly punched him on the arm. She didn't know why but her spirits had lifted when Jason had invited her to help him, although the tasks were but tedious chores. It filled up at least part of her schedule today, which was usually a good thing.

"Don't 'Yeah, whatever' me. You and I both know it's for the best. I don't want to sound like your mother but when you have learned to control everything I'll take you wherever you want to go. I promise, but until then I don't want to risk your safety." It was too early for a lecture, Reyna wasn't in the mood for it, and this woman was not her mother. "I'll buy you some stuff while I'm out. And we can hang out later. For now, can you please try to cheer Dyson up?"

"Fine," Reyna sighed and rubbed her temples, a headache was already making its way through her skull. If only she could drink coffee, but that only made the shape shifting "spasms" intensify. "Just to piss her off, I'll take you into town after she leaves, if you'd like." He paused, then; "Unless you enjoy hanging around a depressed kid all day."

"Thanks, but I think I'd like to stay home anyways." The sudden headache and the random shifting earlier were enough for one day. If Chris hadn't assigned her any chores then she would go and take a long nap. Her attention turned to Sapphire when the girl's soft, wispy voice sounded. "About what you said earlier, the thing about my nightmare. I'm fine, really. It's no big deal." Reyna nodded her head in understanding and smiled, "alright, but if you change your mind you know where to find me."

Christopher

Chris was finishing his breakfast when Jennora entered, proving a theory he had come up with a moment before that breakfast could not be eaten in peace. "Will you please go into town with Mikuo and I? Jason doesn't want too." She frowned at him from where she was standing before opening her mouth once more. "I want to go on a small shopping spree. Not only for myself. Oh I think Clarie is coming as well. Not sure.." Chris pretended to contemplate this proposition for a moment or two, checking his list and then finally, nodding his head with a sigh. "I suppose I can make time for it."

Chris winked to show he was only teasing and stood up, pushing the wooden chair back and going to the living room. "Alright Jason, here's the list of things to do." He handed the man sitting criss cross on the floor the long list of stuff to complete. "Reyna I have you down for sweeping the floors and making dinner." She gave a mock salute and an, "aye, aye Captain!"

He rolled his eyes before turning to Sapphire. "I hope you don't mind Sapphire, but I put you down for a guard shift." They had a rotation to keep an eye out, just in case someone tried to approach the house or there was an attack. They had a system for such occasions and thankfully have only had to use it once.
