ImageImage | Personality |

"Why, must I explain myself?"

Damian is not all he appears to be. At first glance, he may appear cocky and full of himself, like the typical high school jock. However, he is nothing of the sort. he is mystery, reclusive, and manipulative. He will not go out of his way to socialize with others. He will stay in the shadows and listen to others. He stores all the information he overhears in his head, ready to use the slightest bit as ammo if the time were to present itself. If he were to be approached, he would not slither away from the person. he sees every opportunity of value, whether it actually is or not.

Damian is not close with many people. In fact, he doesn't really have friends. At least, he doesn't consider anyone a friend. Everyone to him is his potential puppet, if they are not already one. He believes his is superior, and everyone below him is at his disposal, in which most cases, is true. He has the power to persuade others to do his will exactly. He is very convincing, and when he forces himself, can be quiet the charmer; however, flirting or other romantic advances are not in his future plans. He does not see the point in a relationship. Everyone is born alone, and everyone will die alone. Love is just a myth created to satisfy the mind, and when the lie is destroyed, the devastation can be enough to crush the mind as punishment for its initial fault. Damian has an obsession, but he wouldn't call it love. It is no where near that, but he is intrigued with someone. He knows, no matter how much that being could mean to him, he will test them to see their worthiness and strength. He just has to figure out how to bring the testing about.

He is often viewed upon as mentally unstable or "not all there". Damian thinks with every action he takes. He plans everything out before hand down to the hair. He will not let one detail slip past him or one potential outcome go ignored. He has his life planned down to the T, and he knows exactly where he is going in life and what he wants to do. If thrown a curve ball, he easily can adjust to the situation, whether he likes it or not. He analyzes every bit of information which is part of the reason he always appears to be out of it. He is extremely intelligent and loves to think.

Combat thrills Damian. Whether it be physical or mental, he loves to be challenged. He naturally makes people squirm, so in an unnecessary fight he is even more pleased than usual. he tends to have the upper hand in battle, as he is quick on his feet, observant, and physically strong. He is not strong enough to pulverize someone into the ground, but he is skilled enough to maneuver around someone and hit a strong pressure point.

| History |

"Well, my dear, I don't see how that's relevant."

Damian was born to a man and woman like everyone, happy to have a child to call their own. However, as the years passed, his parents grew dissatisfied with their child and decided to get rid of him. At the age of five Damian's parents dropped him off on the foot of an orphanage and left him there. He didn't run. he sat and waited until the door opened on that cold, winters day. About 2 hours after he was dropped off, someone finally came to the door. By that point his lips were blue and his toes were frozen. He smiled when the red haired lady saw him and shrieked from his happy expression. The cold didn't phase him. He had to go the the hospital and get examined, and his toes almost had to be amputated. He never stopped smiling the whole time at the hospital with his cold feet.

After two years of being at the orphanage, Damian started to cause mischief. He would mess with the order of the house and blame it on others. His caretakers always knew he was off, but they didn't know how. it wasn't until one spring day the park that he realized why he was so "special". A child had been hogging the slide for a few hours and Damian wanted a turn. The little boy would not get off and give him a turn. Damian started to get frustrated and began yelling at the boy. The boy mocked him, and Damian narrowed his eyes. He commanded the boy to "get down", and that instant the boy, who had been clinging to the ladder, slammed against the ground and laid there paralyzed. Damian didn't know what happened, but he smiled at the boy's pain. He used the slide and then went home, leaving the boy to suffer.

From the age of seven and on, Damian had been training himself to be able to use his powers for an extended period of time without losing energy. He also learned to control his emotions. He would not tolerate his emotions getting in the way of him yielding his gifts. He moved out of the orphanage at 17, around the time he discovered cigarettes, and bought this own place. He does not smoke to relieve stress. He smokes because he wants to, and is not addicted. He could quit if he wants to, but he likes the burning in his throat and the way the smoke looks when he blows it out. He smokes not only cigarettes, but occasionally weed. He lives in a small, single, white walled home and couldn't be happier.

Delaney wasn’t as lucky as she had hoped. She had dozed off to the, but only to be awoken by it a few minutes later. She jumped up as she heard a woman scream. When she turned her head to the TV, she saw a video clip, obviously taken by a cell phone, of a woman running as an earthquake swayed the ground and started to bring buildings down. Delaney sighed and covered her face with her hand. Maybe the putting the news on hadn’t been her best idea.

Delaney sat up and accepted that she wouldn’t be able to fall asleep with how alert she was right now. She scrolled through her contacts and tried to figure out who would still be up. Cami was an obvious choice, but with school the next day she could be doing homework still. She kept scrolling until she landed on the next choice. She found Eva’s name and figured she would still be up. At least she hoped so.

She stood from her bed and didn’t bother to change from her bed shorts and oversized sweatshirt. She went downstairs, grabbed her keys, and texted Eva quickly before leaving.

To: Eva
I’m coming to get you and we’re going to Willow’s, granted she’s not asleep. I can’t fall asleep and I’m bored. See you in a bit! (-:

Delaney slipped on a pair of slippers and went outside, shutting the door behind her quietly. She got her bike from the garage and leisurely peddled to Eva’s house.

About ten minutes into the bike ride she quickened her pace. She had started to feel unease peddling late at night by herself, something which normally didn’t bother her. She squirmed on the seat of the bike and reached Eva’s house a few minutes later. When she got there she leaned her bike against the side of the house and approached the front door, quietly sliding her feet against the ground as she did so. When she reached the door she saw it was opened a crack, and she peeked her head in to see Eric and Ezra in the middle of what she assumed to be reunion. Ezra must have gotten back. She smiled a little as she watched them, and stepped quietly in the room and shut the door after the hug was broken up. She cleared her throat and smiled shyly at Eric and then at Ezra. ”Uh, I hope I’m not intruding. I came for Eva.” She made a quick hand gesture to the stairs and her eyes drifted from where she was pointing to Eric’s eyes. She could feel her stomach knot the slightest bit.

Nathan pulled up to Ophelia’s and walked up to the door. Before he could even knock, Lyles opened the door and he smiled at the man. ”Thank you, Lyles. It’s nice to see you again.” Lyles nodded while he handed Nathan a box of snickers. Nathan grabbed them and shook his head slightly. He didn’t know how Ophelia liked snickers. He thought they were gross. Nathan accepted the box of candy and mouthed another “thank you” to Lyles.

He went upstairs to Ophelia’s room and knocked once and entered, not waiting for a reply. He smiled when he saw Ophelia, Cami, and Talia. He never really talked to Talia before, but she saw friends with Ophelia and Cami so she couldn’t be bad. “Hey guys.” He turned to his girlfriend and smirked slightly as he held up the snickers. “You need new tastebuds.” He set the box on the bed as he sat next to her, watching as Marbles plopped into his lap happily. He ran his hand across the kitten’s back. The kitten purred and Nathan grinned. “So what’s on tonight’s agenda? Anything exciting happening?”

Damian left the house dressed in the first outfit he could put together, which happened to be one of his favorites. He stepped outside and took out a cigarette, placing it between his lips. He lit in and inhaled, allowing the smoke to burn his throat. He dropped his hand to his side and walked down the street, keeping to the back alleyways and mazes that led to the darkest part of town.

He walked down the dimly lit street, his footsteps inaudible, and finished his cigarette. He let the cigarette butt fall and smushed it under his foot. He continued walking until he came across the abandoned warehouse he had seen in his dream. He usually practiced here at night, and it was of no surprise to see a recall of memories in his dreams. He remembered that boy. What was his name, Sid? Kyle? Whatever it was, Damian didn’t care much. Another human life that no one would miss. As useless as he may have been, at Damian got some fun out of it. As he rounded the corner leading to the warehouse, he saw a streak of blond rush past in his peripheral vision. He turned his head to get a better look. He saw Delaney riding on her bike, accelerating her pace the further away she became. What was the hurry? Couldn’t she stick around for some fun? He thought of pursuing her, but remembered he had better things to do.

Damian entered the warehouse and went over the the faint stain of blood on the ground. He should have probably cleaned that up when it happened. He smiled at the reminder and knelt down next to the spot, running his fingers across the floor. He walked to the supply closet he kept and took the bleach out, pouring it across the floor and smiled as the scent burned his nostrils. As soon as he was done here he would find Eva. Maybe that’s where Delaney. Two for one, he thought briefly, flashing his teeth as he did so.

Delaney saw Eva and smiled. Before Delaney could even say hi, her friend was pushing her out the door and Delaney laughed slightly. “Jeez, I didn’t know it was that urgent. Love you too, though.” Delaney shook her head slightly at Eva and gestured to the side of the house. “I left my bike on the side of the house. I’ll get it and you can ride on the pegs or something.” Delaney walked to the side of the house, leaving Eva by herself.

When she reached the side, she didn’t see her bike right away. She craned her neck and squinted until she saw her bike closer to the backyard. Odd, she thought. She walked and got her bike, kicking the kickstand back and rolling it alongside her as she went back for her friend.

She walked back around the house and took a step back when Eva wasn’t there. She looked around frantically. She had just been there a minute ago. Where could she have gone? “Eva?” She dropped her bike but never heard it hit the ground. She waited for the sound but it never came. She turned around. If she knew one thing, she wasn’t in the Newman’s front yard anymore. Where was Eva? Delaney ran her hand through her hair. “Eric’s gonna kill me..” She was more worried about where Eva was then where she was now. She sighed and tugged on the sleeves of her sweater nervously. Now what?

Nathan rolled his eyes at his girlfriend and wrapped an arm around her waist. Then Talia spoke up and he chuckled. ”Luckily, we don’t have that problem.” He turned his attention back to Ophelia. “I’m glad you’re not about to dump me over candy.” His eyes landed on Talia as she squealed about Greyson to Cami. Greyson Latier? Cami had a thing for him? Well, that was news. Nathan cocked an eyebrow and watched as Cami, at least her cheeks, turned slowly into a lobster. He had never seen her so embarrassed over a guy. In fact, Nathan didn’t think he had ever seen Cami flustered over a guy.

”Greyson latier, huh?” He looked at Cami amused. “I didn’t see that one coming.” He smiled as he said it, but he could feel his stomach twist slightly. He was glad Cami liked someone, but he couldn’t help but feel a little jealous.

Willow rolled over on her side and sighed. Half conscience, she ran her hand over the cool ground and inhaled. Lemon filled her nose and she came up short. She inhaled again. The scent was off, unfamiliar. She peeked her eyes open and stared at the pastel yellow walls opposite of her. She jerked up into the sitting position and looked around the room. She wasn’t home, so where the hell was she? She jumped up off the floor and looked at her watch; it read midnight. What was this place? Where was she? If she didn’t know where she was, then where was..

Oh my God. The panic started to bubble inside of her and she ran around the close to vacant room. She couldn’t find him anywhere and she could feel her chest tighten. “Lucas?” She would have screamed if her voice hadn’t given out on her. He had to be here somewhere. It’s not like she could have left and gone back home. She didn’t even know where she was! She bit her lip and blinked a few times; he wasn’t in this room.

Willow sighed and then heard a door creak. She turned her head to find Lucas peeking his head around the door frame he was in. “Lucas!” She exclaimed and ran over to him, swiftly picking him up in her arms and cradling him against her chest. “Where were you? I was so worried!” Lucas pulled on her hair and smiled up at her, pointing to the room he had been stolen from. “In there.” Willow looked into the room and then closed the door after seeing it to be nicer looking than the one she had been in. She hadn’t even seen that door she first time she looked at the walls. Had it just appeared? Nothing was making sense to her.

She hugged Lucas closer to her and he shifted in her arms. ”Mommy,” he whispered. ”Who’s that?” She looked at him and then slowly turned around to look where her son was looking. She paused when she came across a man with dark hair and tan skin. She bit her bottom lip softly. He was cute. Very cute. She pushed the thoughts away and took a cautious step forward to get a better look at the man across from them. “I’m not sure, honey.” She paused and raised an eyebrow at him. “Uh, who are you?” The question came out sharper than she had hoped, but maybe not sharp enough. After all, there was a random man in a mysterious room she had never been in before. Where did he come from? Had he been in there when she was looking for Lucas? She could have completely overlooked him; that was possible.

Damian finished cleaning about 10 minutes after he started. With the floor all clean and the scent of bleach and other cleaning products almost intoxicating, Damian left the warehouse and stepped into the crisp summer night. He inhaled and the air was like a brand new sensation. It was foreign to him, sweeter than usual. He exhaled and shut the door of the warehouse behind him. He turned back around and his surroundings were different; very different. He knew the warehouse inside and out, and where he was now was nowhere in that building.

He looked around the room he was being held in and walked around the perimeter of it, running his hand against the wall as he did so. The walls were cold; painted white concrete walls and white tiled floors. It looked like a room a mental patient got admitted to. Maybe this was some kind of joke, but he knew better. No one had approached him and kidnapped him. Like they could, he thought. No one ever went near him. He had turned around and appeared in this room. That was all he knew. He smiled to himself and leaned against the walls, right where they intersected. Maybe something else, or someone else, would come too.

Ophelia was glad that one of the people she hangs out with appreciates the taste of snickers. There was a reason she kept Talia around. Besides for how awesome she is in general. Candy is a big deal. Then of course Talia through in how she felt about Nathan not liking the marvelous chocolate. "Talia is exaggerating. Chocolate is not worth losing all this." Ophelia gestured to all of Nathan when she said that. Of course the girls don't really get to see all of that, but if they did they would understand. The brunette put another snickers in her mouth. And then Talia started to tease Camilla about Greyson. Who was another really cute guy. "He has been single for a while now. Maybe I could put a good word in for you." Ophelia winked at Cami and ate another snickers. Her best friend resembled a tomato and it was fantastic. Of course Ophelia would never actually do anything that would cause a panic attack. Calling it a quits with a snickers she folded up the bag and leaned across of the bed away from Nathan to put them on the night stand. But when she went to look at her friends they weren't there.

Ophelia raised an eyebrow. The room was dimly lit and cold. She didn't recognize this place at all and it was quite frustrating. No one kidnapped her. She wasn't dreaming. And now of her friends abilities cause illusions. But something was clearly going on.

Image
Image

Greyson was needy every day. It was just how their friendship worked. He asked for things and sometimes Remi would provide. IT was a rather stable relationship. They could be dating if they didn't have an unspoken rule about strictly best friends. They were attracted to each other and flirted quite often. Remi more than Greyson did though. But neither of them have tried to make a move. They had kept it likes it. But Remi leaned down and it seemed that the first move was being made. But then after a while of waiting, Greyson realized that Remi was gone. He sat up and looked around. "Remi?" Not only was Remi missing he was no longer in his own home. He was somewhere completely brand new. Then he got worried. "Kelsey!" He called. "Here, Daddy." He saw her in the corner, completely exhausted and confused. He went over to her and hugged her tight.

Image
Image

Eric was a bit nervous to make moves on Delaney. It was a delicate process. At least that is what he thought. How was he supposed to walk up to the beautiful blonde and just ask her out. He shook his head and laughed a little. When he turned around though, Ezra was no longer there. Eric raised an eyebrow. "Aren't you too old to play hide and seek Ezra?" He was waiting for a response, but nothing. He turned around again, but he was even more confused. He was no longer in his house. He was in some strange room. "What the..." And then he started to worry about his friend and then his sister. And it didn't help that when he turned around that he saw Delaney. So they were in the same situation. But Eva was with her. Eric did not want to get mad at Delaney. He liked her too much, but she was here and Eva wasn't with her. "Do you know what's going on?"

Image
Image

Evangeline couldn't be more grateful to Delaney. She waited their patiently for her friend to return with the bike, but she didn't. In fact she wasn't there at all. This was bad. They were two young girls outside alone. Something awful could have happened to her. Eric would not be happy. Eva turned around to head back inside, but she was no longer outside in her front yard. She was in a room. It looked like a mental patient belonged here. She was so confused. Eva touched the wall and then slowly backed herself into another person. When she turned around to see who the person was she almost screamed. Eva slapped her hands over her mouth and backed herself into a corner. She was in an empty room with Damian. Of all the people to be trapped with. Evangeline could have cried right there, but she didn't. She just stared at him. Terrified.

Image
Image

Matthew got the text message and felt bad. He didn't mean to make Remi feel like second when he wasn't. He was just trying to explain his situation. He was about to respond, but his sister started crying in the next room. He got up and jogged over to her. Matt laid in bed with her and sung a lullaby to get her to go back to sleep. It wasn't long before she drifted off again. The blonde started to head back to his room, but then it got weird. He wasn't in his room. Nor his hallway. Nor his house. This was someplace new and unfamiliar. He briefly glanced around, but it seemed that he was alone. At least for a moment. He turned and saw a confused Remi. Despite their situation he smiled. "I was going to text you back."

Delaney was thinking of how to get out of here and just where she was when she heard Eric’s voice. Oh crap! Not only had she been left with Eva, who disappeared, but now Delaney was stuck in a room with Eric, the boy she liked. Could anything else happen? Delaney sighed and shook her head at the boy. Now, how was she going to explain this to Eric and hope he didn’t get angry? “I, uh, I don’t know. I don’t know where we are or what happened. I went to get my bike and then I came back and Eva was gone and then next thing I know I’m here.” She almost whispered her explanation. She paused before continuing. “I’m really sorry.”

She took a step towards Eric and glanced around the room again. “This looks like one of those ‘escape the room’ missions..so, where do we start?” She didn’t mind being stuck in a room with Eric, not at all. If anything, she wish it happened more often. However, in a different room maybe: one with doors and didn’t give her the chills looking at. She scanned the bottom of the walls and the top, seeing if there was any crack or crevice they could pick their way through, but it seemed pretty held together from her view.

Nathan chuckled slightly as Ophelia reassured him, and then winked at her when she made the comment about the others missing out. His mind drifted to nights at Ophelia’s when it was just the two of them. The nights when they would be in her room teasing each other, and then teasing turned into doing, the way things would pick up between them but cool down before anything got out of hand. He grinned to himself and turned his attention back to his friend’s embarrassment.

It seemed as though everyone wanted it to happen, and Nathan tilted his head slightly, watching Cami. He liked seeing her get so flustered over a guy, and liked hearing how everyone was willing to pitch in. He could even put in a good word or two. After all, he and Greyson got along just fine. What he would say, he wasn’t entirely sure. It could be hard being wingman for a girl he still had a hint of feelings for, but he had Ophelia now. He had to move on and focus everything in the relationship he was in. Not that he already was, but he knew if he moved on from Cami things with Ophelia could be where they already should be. On the bright side, he could tease Cami about finding someone.

He smiled and looked down at Marbles, or where Marbles should have been. Maybe the kitten had moved without Nathan knowing. Nathan lifted his head again and when he did, he saw a blank wall ahead of him. He got to his feet quickly and looked around. His eyes landed on none other than his girlfriend. At least they were together. He sighed and walked over to her, putting an arm over her shoulders and pulling her close. “Any idea where we are?” He had a feeling she wouldn’t know. How could she? This wasn’t a room in her house, at least none that he had seen. The depressing atmosphere of it wasn’t like the rest of Ophelia’s house. Wherever they were, Nathan had a strange feeling they weren’t alone.

The man introduced himself as Ezra Vargas and Willow raised an eyebrow. So this was the Ezra that Eva had talked all about. The one that was like a brother to her and she saw only when he came to visit his cousin, Cami. Willow nodded her head slowly. He turned his attention to Lucas, who gladly accepted it. He enthusiastically nodded his head with a cheeky smile. "Yup! Mommy says I'm the most handsomest boy ever." His mother smiled and whispered in his ear. "That's cause you are, silly." Lucas turned himself more towards Ezra and Willow repositioned her arms around him, only to let him down seconds later. Lucas grabbed her hand and then reached another out towards Ezra. The gesture didn't surprise her, as her son was very open to everyone, but given the situation, she was surprised how comfortable he was.

Willow turned her head to look Ezra straight in the eye. "Willow. Willow Harmony Phoenix." She grinned a little as she continued to hold eye contact. To enter his mind, or to not invade his privacy? He had given her no reason to, but she didn't know what his intentions were. Being stuck in a room with a girl and her kid, if something were to happen..

Willow contemplated for a few seconds. She always got a thrill out of it, but she had better not. She turned her head and looked at where Lucas had entered. The door was missing and Willow sighed slightly. She looked back at her son and then at the handsome man next to her. "You can't blow out a wall by any chance, can you?"

Damian watched her. He watched the way she backed into him unknowingly, the way she covered her mouth, and more importantly the way she backed away from him. Terror. Absolute, sheer terror. The reaction brought an uncontrollable sly grin to his face. He took a slow, taunting step forward out of the shadows of the corner. “Hello, Evangeline. It’s a pleasure to see you here.” He kept walking until he was a foot or two from her. He was ready to corner her, but he knew not to just yet. She was delicate. A delicate little flower bud he had to pick from the weeds. He would provide for her and allow her to mature and blossom, just to watch her wilt and wither.

He smiled politely at her, and quickly assessed the situation. He needed to make sure no rash decisions were made. He could handle them if they were, but it would be an nuisance if so. Damian outstretched his hand slightly and gestured towards her. "You see, I was looking for you. I'm glad you found me. However.." he paused and withdrew his hand, folding his hands in front of him and returning to his normal, emotionless expression. "It seems as though we're trapped. Just us two. Isn't it lovely?" his voice was as smooth as velvet and he looked around the room, as if telling her to as well. He wanted her reaction. How would she react with him around and to what depth did her fear run? How much would it take for her to crack, just being in a room with him? How delicate was she really?

Ophelia ran her hands over the wall. In the movies there was a soft spot that acted as a button. Buttons mean secret doors. She was hoping for a secret door. But she couldn't find one. She was trying to keep her cool. Anything that messed with her mood and she could end up hurting herself. Being trapped between four walls wasn't that bad. Eventually whatever trapped her here would have to let her out. The brunette continued to feel around the wall, but she couldn't figure out what was going on. Taking a few steps back she felt someone touch her shoulders. Fire came to her hand and she was ready to set whoever it was ablaze, but it was just Nathan. She let the fire go out and she sighed, moving closer to him. Now that she wasn't alone the walls didn't seem so scary.

He asked if she had any idea where they were. She just shook her head. The room was unfamiliar and scary. If Nathan wasn't here she might have tried to set the room on fire just to watch the walls burn down. It would have at least meant freedom. Unfortunately with that plan, Ophelia wasn't completely fireproof. If it didn't work, she would end up killing herself. "Does Father Time have any ideas on how we can get out of here?" A small smile formed as she looked up at him. She was only teasing and she honestly didn't think that he had any idea how to get out.

Greyson looked around the room for a brief moment. There was no doors. No windows. Nothing. Bending down and picked his daughter up and held her close. He didn't know what was going to happen and he would prefer it if he had a hand on his daughter the entire time. "Where are we, Daddy?" Greyson had no idea. This was no where that he would recognize. "I don't know baby." Then he saw a very pretty woman appear before him. She looked just as confused as Greyson did. He looked over her and instantly recognized her. It was Camila Vargas. She was very attractive and if he could remember correctly only a year behind him. He saw her a lot when he went to school, but then that stopped after he graduated. He never really got the chance to talk to her. Not that Greyson didn't want too. He was just busy dealing with his daughter. Kelsey was just staring at the woman. "Daddy who is she?" The child attempted to whisper. "Her name is Camila." He said before he turned his attention towards her. "Are you alright?"

Eric looked over Delaney as she spoke. He wanted to make sure nothing bad had happened to her on the way in. But she seemed sincerely sorry for not keeping up with Eva. It wasn't entirely her fault. This was some uncontrollable force of nature. He sighed and just nodded. "It's alright." Right now they just needed to find a way out so that he could make his way back to his sibling. The blonde compared their situation to a escape the room game. The only difference between that and this is with the game you could just turn the computer off. "I can see if I can move the walls." Eric shifted earth as an ability. Maybe it would work in this case.

Evangeline wanted to get far away from Damian. Away from this room. Out of the city. Country if she needed too. Her eyes searched the room frantically for a way out. But she was coming up empty. It didn't help that Damian was talking to her. Talking about looking for Eva. About being trapped. He seemed abnormally calm for someone that was trapped in an unknown place. She had half a mind to blame him for her condition, but the way he talked about being trapped meant that this wasn't his doing. But he was definitely going to use it to his advantage. Evangeline wanted to try and blow down a wall. Or blow him away. Anything. But she was afraid to use her powers. Or to move. Being around Damian paralyzed her. If she had a voice she would scream, but it seems as though he has taken it away from her. As he stepped toward her she took a step back. Eva needed the distance. The distance would keep her sane.

Matthew smile diminished when Remi didn't seem as happy to see him as Matt was to see Remi. Actually he was feeling hurt that Remi believe Matt had anything to do with this sick joke. They were trapped with, what it appears to be, no way out. Matthew wouldn't have time to plan a joke this elaborate. Not to get his crush to talk to him. Not for anything in the world. "I don't know. I showed up hear just like you did." Matthew explained trying not to sound hurt. He shoved his hands in his pockets and started to walk around the room they were in. There had to be some way out. Some kind of way. Being trapped wasn't an option for Matty. His sister would need him to sing her a lullaby. He hummed for a little before looking at Remi. "Any ideas on how to get out?" He was hoping Remi would help.

She was relieved Eric wasn’t mad at her. That was the last thing she needed right now. Eric mentioned moving the walls and Delaney nodded her head. “That could work. If you need help I could assist you, but that could only go so far.” With no existing plants in the room, Delaney knew if she were to help she would have to create vines herself and then use them. It would require a bit of energy, but anything to get out of this room. She could feel herself starting to get anxious. If Eric needed help she could wrap the vines around a portion of the wall and help pull, but she didn’t know if that would interfere with him moving the walls. She ran her foot along the floor and tried to sense any far off plant life in the nearby area. She sensed a plant directly below her, but how could she have that help them?

Nathan looked at Ophelia and thought. Did he have any idea to get out of here? They were trapped in a room with nothing but themselves and the very material creating the room. No, he didn’t have any; not in the slightest, but he knew they had the walls, the floor, and the ceiling. Unless they broke through one of those structures, then they were going to remain trapped. Would Ophelia be up to burning her way out with him? Nathan smiled the slightest at the idea and then pointed to the walls and floor. “We have options. Considering we’re not completely useless, we can work some magic, if you will. There’s the floor or a wall , and we can blow those out and leave through them. Or there’s the ceiling.” He looked at the ceiling briefly and then shrugged. “Which, frankly, I don’t feel like having debris hit me and then find a way out from there.”

He slid the arm around her shoulders out from around her and grabbed her hand. “We can tag team it. I’m going to guess you’re up to it since you almost set me on fire.” He smirked and outstretched his hand, palm down and fingers spread slightly. “What will it be, firecracker? The walls or ground?” He looked at his hand and concentrated. A small clear, glowing yellow, sphere formed. It was about the size of a small melon, and he gripped it tightly. He could feel the power tingle against his hand, and he packed the sphere more, allowing the size to remain but it to become denser. He hoped it was enough to blow either the wall or floor out, along with Ophelia’s power.

Ezra placed his hand on the wall and Willow watched him silently until he questioned who was behind this. She kept her eyes on his hand and then waved her free hand nonchalantly. “I don’t know who’s behind this, but just wait until I get my hands on him. He’ll be sorry.” Her voice drifted off at the end, turning into something of a scowl. She didn’t have any enemies that she knew of, at least, none that could pull something of this magnitude off. Place her in a random room with a stranger and Lucas? No, no one she knew could do something like that. Whoever had done it would get a taste of her. Not only had her sleep been interrupted, but Lucas was brought into this situation.

Willow walked over to where he was and placed a hand on the wall too. It seemed like a regular wall. No soft spot or easily penetrated point. “Well,” she tapped her knuckles softly on the wall. It wasn’t hollow. “If you can, you should. Don’t blow up the whole room, but a small enough space we could crawl out of. If I could do it, I would have already.” She paused and then turned her head to look at him. “My, abilities, if you will, aren’t exactly physical.” There was no reason to lie or put it lightly. As much as she didn’t want to admit it, but she needed him to break them out. There wasn’t anything in the room for her to move or throw at the wall or send through the floor. She looked down at Lucas who yawned. She grinned and ran her free hand through his hand.

He stepped towards her. She stepped back. It was quite entertaining. Damian let her have her space. He couldn’t come off too strongly. Not yet. He had to plant the seeds in her mind. These seeds would be the beginning. He grinned and looked at the wall and then the floor. “It seems you’re enjoying this as much as I am.” He chuckled and then frowned. “If you want to leave so badly, then why don’t you? I know what you can do.” Now Damian took a step forward. He needed to plant it in her mind, and it seemed like time. He didn’t know how much longer they would be together.

He needed her to know he knew just what she was capable of. “Sweet Evangeline, won’t you show me? Blow down the walls.” He took another step forward, outstretching his arms so if she tried to run he would grab her. “It’s beautiful, really. The way you can manipulate the air. Powers. Such a destructive thing, for such a pretty girl. Shame. I’d hate to see it be your downfall.” He beamed a vicious, gleaming smile at her and started to back up. He backed up all the way into the corner he had originally been in. Now it was a waiting game.

Ophelia didn't have much an idea how to get out of the room either. There wasn't much in the room they could use as an escape. And they had no idea what was behind the walls or what was keeping them together. It was quite sticky situation the couple got themselves in. The thought of blowing out the walls wasn't a horrible idea. It was all they had right now. Nathan did bring up the ceiling, but whatever was up their could fall on them so that wouldn't work either. That could prove to be even more dangerous. Her boyfriend held her hand and gave her the option of the walls or the ground. In his free hand, he created his ball of destruction. A smile formed on her face. Ophelia couldn't help, but find power rather attractive on her boyfriend. Thinking over the two options in her head, she came up one. "Ground."

Using her free hand she created a fireball. It was a around the same size of Nathan's, but wasn't as spherical. Random chaotic flames would bounce off the ball. Ophelia heated the ball up so that the color went from red to blue. Blue was the hottest flame. If that doesn't get them out, then nothing will. Opehlia combined her ball with Nathan's and then it was released. The ball of destruction made contact with the ground, but didn't cause a hole. Instead it bounced up and hit the ceiling. Ophelia moved closer to Nathan and hid herself in him. The ball just continued to bounce around and Ophelia hoped that it didn't hit them. Ophelia was fireproof, but she could easily be taken out by Nathan's ball.

Greyson set Kelsey down. There didn't seem to be anyone else in here that posed a threat so there was no need to keep her in his arms. Camila looked fine which was good. He didn't know what he would do if she was hurt. He would jump much quicker into finding a way out of here. There was still a rush, but for other reasons. For one he wasn't going to let his daughter stay in this kind of condition much longer. From what he could see, there wasn't much water around. Which means if he was going to have to make water. It would take a tone of energy and if it doesn't work, he would pass out where he stands. Kelsey could restore some of his energy, but not enough to make up for the fact he created an entire tsunami. That is what it will take to break the walls down. "Can you think of any ways out?" He was hoping Camila could come up something better than the idea in his head.

Image

Eric thought it was kind of Delaney to help him shift the walls, but he didn't want her to waste energy. There were no plants in here meaning she would have to pull them from thin air. He could only imagine how tired she would be after creating some plants to help him move a wall. He placed his hands on the wall, palms spread. He rotated his hands so that his fingers were towards each other. The wall was made of material that could be moved. He was shifted stuff like this before. He pressed against the wall, but nothing happened. He couldn't hear a shift in anything. Not even the drop of a pebble. He rotated his hands again so that his fingers were toward the ceiling. He pushed harder and still nothing. "The walls won't move."

Damian was trying to get in her head, but she wouldn't let him. Evangeline couldn't let him get to her. It wouldn't end well for her. “If you want to leave so badly, then why don’t you? I know what you can do.” Eva didn't want to put on a show for him. That was what he wanted. He wanted her to use her abilities, but she didn't want too. Not anymore. Not for him. Anyone but him. Who knows how he would use her powers against her. Damian took another step towards her and she moved back, but she was being blocked by a wall. For a brief moment she thought about running around him, but he was close enough to grab her if she tried. “It’s beautiful, really. The way you can manipulate the air. Powers. Such a destructive thing, for such a pretty girl. Shame. I’d hate to see it be your downfall.” If Eva wasn't scared before she was absolutely terrified now. Damian backed up and hid away back in the corner. Eva just stared at him, but he was giving her the opportunity to break herself out.

She moved off the wall and moved closer to the center of the room. Evangeline took a deep breath and tried not to notice Damian staring at her. Watching. She stared ahead at the wall she wanted to take out. Evie moved her hands behind her to collect most of the air. She didn't take too much so that they could still breath. But it was much harder to breath than before. Lingering for a moment, she glanced over at Damian. He was still watching. Looking back at the wall, she threw her hands forward. The air pushed against the wall, but it didn't move. The wall deflected it and pushed the air right back at Eva. Evangeline was okay with the hit, but she got a bit tired. Despite her silent protest, she dropped to her knees and leaned against the wall.

Remi wasn't hesitating to make it seem like this unfortunate event was Matthew's fault. Matt didn't say anything about it though. He didn't want to upset Remi more than it seem like he was. Silently he put his hand on the wall. Acid secreted from his hand in attempt to melt the rock. Nothing. A sigh escaped him and he just sat down. His back against the wall. There wasn't much else he could do. His abilities limited him there. "it looks like I'm stick with you" Matthew looked up at Remi and then away from him. "Sorry for the inconvenience." he muttered. Now Matthew really wanted to find a way out of here. Remi wasn't very pleasant to be around at the current moment.

Delaney sighed. Eric couldn’t move the walls. There was no way for her to help. They were stuck. She sat down on the floor, pulled her knees to her chest, and wrapped her arms around them. How was it possible, that the walls didn’t react to Eric’s powers? Was there some greater force resisting it? Were the walls special and could withhold the power brought against them? It didn’t make sense. Nothing was adding up. “I don’t understand.” She shook her head slightly and looked up at him. “It’s like there’s a greater force keeping us here.” Delaney dropped one hand and slid it across the floor lightly. Under her fingertips, she could feel a slight vibration. Weird. She just stared at the ground. Maybe it will miraculously open up and free us. She knew no such thing would happen, but maybe she’d be surprised again. For the seemingly eightieth time today.

Ophelia chose the ground and Nathan smiled. “That’s my girl.” Together, they mixed each of their powers to form a small, probably deadly. force. The blue and yellow mixed to form a marvelous green color and Nathan couldn’t help but stare at it. He wondered how much it would hurt to get hit with. Hopefully he wouldn’t have to find out.

His girlfriend let go and Nathan watched as it hit the wall and sparked, but only to be flung back at them at an angle and bounce around the room. Instinctively, he wrapped his arms around Ophelia tightly and held her, adjusting so wherever the ball went, he always had his back to it. That was if anyone would be getting hit, it would be him and not Ophelia. “What the hell.” He watched in disbelief as it continued to bounce around the room. Yes, it was definitely something to fear being hit by. It kept bouncing around the room until it lost its momentum and the fire fizzled out. Nathan watched as his contribution broke apart from the flames and shot out in the room. When it stopped, he loosened his tight around Ophelia and looked her in the eyes. “Are you alright?”

Ezra lifted his hands above his head and Lucas grabbed onto Willow’s leg tightly, watching the him. He stood still for a few moments until his whole body was glowing. Willow looked around and then cocked an eyebrow as she watched him. “When did I step into Twilight?” She took a few steps back from him and dragged Lucas, who was in complete awe, away from the wall. Ezra placed his hands on the wall, and Willow turned, shielding Lucas from the incoming blast.

She waited a few seconds. Nothing came. She turned back and looked at him. “Well that was embarrassing.” Willow couldn’t help but grin. “Oh, I can’t even begin to imagine.” Willow was loving his embarrassment. A failed attempt. She shouldn’t be disappointed, but she was. Lucas, on the other hand, was loving it. “OOOOOH! Do it again! Again! Can I glow too?” Willow laughed and let him walk around her, back towards Ezra. “Oh, boy,” she muttered to herself. She looked at Ezra. “Any other ideas?”

She moved off the wall and walked towards the center of the room. Damian smiled greedily. He watched as she gathered air and he felt his breathing become shallow. There was enough air to breathe still, but there had been a significant cut back. She threw what she had accumulated, but the wall resisted it and it ricocheted back at her.

He chuckled dryly as she slumped to the floor. “Pity.” He emerged from the shadows once more, this time leaving roughly five feet between them. He folded his hands in front of him again and looked down at her. “What a pity. You have great potential. You just don’t know how to foster it. Truly, what a shame.” He continued to stare. She seemed to avoid eye contact as much as possible, and Damian loved it. It only made him want her more. He pictured her slumped against the floor beneath him, trembling, begging for her life. He grinned at her. “You know, Evangeline, you need someone. Someone to show you how to foster and release what’s inside you.” He bent down to her height, placing his weight on the balls of his feet. “I can see the sheer terror in your eyes. The way you look at me is flattering, but it doesn’t have to be this way.” He stood up and went back to the corner. In order for his words to sink in, she needed her space. She needed a clear head. He couldn’t have his offer slip out and be kicked aside. No, it needed to stick in her mind and consume her whole being. “A mentor. I could teach you, show you everything I know. Heaven forbid, if you were to ever vow revenge, you would be prepared. A lamb turned into a lion. A caterpillar turned into a butterfly. Such a process would leave even the best of us absolutely breathless.

Ophelia was completely freaking out. Nathan was covering her and maneuvering them around so that the ball would never have the chance to hit Miss Landers. The ball should have taken out the floor or even the walls. But nothing. Not a single movement. Finalyl the ball dropped and the fire went out. Nathan's part of the ball broke down with flames shooting out of it. Her boyfriend didn't release her until he felt like it was safe to do so. The couple made eye contact. Ophelia's pupils were completely dilated. She was was trying to calm down, but she was having a hard time. Nathan asked if she was okay and she nodded her head. That had almost died just about then. Even if the ball hit Nathan, the flames could have reached Ophelia. "Let's agree to never do that again when we are in a closed space." The brunette was feeling a little bit better, but then something even more unexpected happened. The ground disappeared.

She clutched onto her boyfriend as they fell. Now Ophelia thought she was going to die. The brunette opened her eyes and there seemed to be light at the end of this and before she knew it, they had landed in a very open space. It looked like a ballroom. Ophelia would know. Her parents have dragged to more than enough. She gave a once over of Nathan just to make sure she didn't dig her nails into him. But out of the corner of her eyes she saw a body on the ground. Turning to look at it, she screamed. "Talia!" Ophelia left her boyfriend's side and ran over to her. Tears rolled down her tears immediately as she looked at her best friends wounds. "N-no Talia.." Ophelia's hands were shaking.

Greyson watched Camila. She had an idea and she was ready to get right on it. Kelsey stepped a bit closer to Camila to see exactly what she was doing. "Daddy her ear is to the wall." The father just shook his head and shushed his daughter. "Kelsey. Let her concentrate." He motioned for his daughter to give Camila some space. After a second of waiting nothing happened. Greyson was about to tell Cami that it was okay she didn't have to keep trying. But a silver outline shoved Cami away from the wall and she hit the floor. The outline disappeared and the wall returned to normal. Greyson went to Cami's side and looked over her worriedly. "Please tell me you are alright?" Greyson kept his hands to himself not so that she wouldn't freak out about being touched. Kelsey came over and leaned on her father watching the girl on the floor.

Then there wasn't a floor anymore. Greyson grabbed Kelsey and held Camila as they fell. He was going to make sure that they weren't going to get hurt wherever they landed. The ground was soon beneath again. But they were in a different room. It was larger and had lots of room. Kelsey seemed fine and he checked to make sure Cami was fine. Then he looked over to see Ophelia crying over something. And he instantly recognized the person in her arms. It was Talia. Remi wasn't in sight yet, but he could only imagine what he was going to say when he finds out.

Eric couldn't believe that there was earth that he couldn't move. That would be a story to tell when he finds Eva. He saw how sad Delaney looked. He moved to sit next to her. "It's going to be alright. There has to be a different way out." They had to have missed something. Eric really didn't mind being trapped in here with the blonde. He has been trying to find time to tell her how he feels and what not. And since they were going to be here for a little while why not tell her now. Eric cleared his throat. "Since it seems we will be here for a while, I wanted to um tell you something." He felt like a nervous child. When he went to open his mouth again, the floor disappeared.

Eric grabbed Delaney and held her tight. He didn't want anything bad to happen to her when they landed. The ground came back to them. The room they were in was much bigger and brighter than the one from before. Eric was confused again by the room they were in, but it was the least of his worries. They were out of the dark rook. But he heard someone crying. He turned to see two people he remembered from when he went to high school. Ophelia was the one who was crying. And the person who she was crying over was Remi's little sister. Remi was no where in sight. This made Eric worry about his own little sister.

Evangeline should have moved when Damian approached, but he didn't. She was too tired. Too drained. She used most of her energy to move the air and then the rest of her energy was taken when there wasn't enough air in the room. Too make things worse, her blow attacked her back. No amount of fear could get Eva to move away from her stalker. And she just let him talk to her. Talk about her powers. Talk about her potential. Talk about being her mentor. All Eva could was listen. Eva could tell when he left her again. There wasn't a shadow lingering over her anymore. But she thought about it even when she shouldn't have. Controlling the air was a rather useless power and Damian, who was powerful beyond belief, was offering a chance of a lifetime. Damian was taking advantage of Evangeline right now. He knew he was going to get her to think. He had her used her powers to drain herself out so that she would listen. And she fell for it. Evangeline looked over to say something to Damian, but then the floor disappeared.

She fell through screaming a tad. Eva had wanted to scream since she had first appeared in the room with Damian. What better time to let it out than when she was falling. Then the ground returned. But it was the floor to another room. A much bigger and brighter room. Quickly she spotted Eric and ran over to him. Never had she been so happy to see him. The siblings held each other, but Eric showed Eva what was going on. It was Talia in the arms of Ophelia. This was tragic. Eva stayed near her brother and watched. Still thinking about what Damian had said.

Matthew couldn't tell when Remi was joking or being serious anymore. He seemed so serious before, but when Matty looked at him he seemed genuine in the fact that he didn't mean what he had said. Matthew just nodded to let Remi know that he forgave him. Remi pulled the blonde up claiming to have an idea of some kind. "What is the great idea?" He asked slightly amused to what Remi was going to come up with. But they were interrupted. Remi sensed something and when he screamed Talia, Matty figured something bad happened. He didn't know what to do. They needed to get out of here and find Talia. His best friend needed him. Then the floor disappeared.

Matthew dropped and reached for Remi. He didn't want to lose him in the fall. The last thing he needs to to lose him and Talia. That was all he had right now. It wasn't long before they were in a different room. A much bigger room. With people Matt recognized. But unfortunately the only person he cared about right now was barely moving in Ophelia's arm. Matty ran over there completely silent. He was in partial denial about what he was seeing. Talia was fine earlier today. How could something have happened to her? Tears rolled down his eyes, but he wasn't crying. No sound was escaping him.

Eric sat next to Delaney and she leaned herself against him. She rested her head against his shoulder. The act immediately calmed her. As much as Eric made her nervous, being around him also put her at ease. She was glad she was stuck with him, and not anyone else. She wouldn’t know what she would have done if she was with someone else. Maybe it would be alright. ”Since it seems we will be in here for a while, I wanted to um tell you something.” Delaney continued to look straight ahead. ”What is it?” As soon as she finished asking, the ground beneath them game out, and Delaney was crushed against Eric’s chest. She immediately wrapped her arms around him and braced herself.

The short distance had surprised Delaney, and she didn’t hurt at all. Maybe Eric had taken the damage. She looked him over quickly. He seemed fine, too. She sighed in relief and turned her head to see others. They were crowded around something, rather, someone. She craned her head until she saw who it was. Her hands tightened on Eric’s arm and she slowly got to her feet, shaking her head in disbelief. Talia lay there almost lifeless. Delaney needed to do something. but with Talia’s state, she didn’t look like she could swallow anything she could give her. Delaney frowned and stayed by Eric’s side, releasing when Eva joined them. She felt utterly helpless. Especially with people surrounding her, she wouldn’t be able to tend to Talia properly.

A sigh of relief escaped his mouth when she said she was alright. ”Let’s agree to never do again when we are in a closed space.” Nathan laughed and agreed. She was more than okay. She was doing well, given their current situation. It didn’t surprise her though, she was a fighter. She was a free spirit. Nathan was still smiling when the ground gave out beneath them. He quickly kept his hold on Ophelia as they fell, one hand on the back of her head and the other around her back.

Nathan took the impact of the fall for both of them, but it was very light. The landing felt as though he was coming down from jumping, not from falling through a ceiling with his girlfriend on top of him. She stood up and detached herself from him. Nathan remained on the ground, checking his body for any potential bruises or stiffness It may not have hurt, but it could have left some damage. He seemed to be fine. He stood up and finally took in his surroundings. He couldn’t help but stare in disbelief. He had never been a room so nice. It reminded him of Beauty and the Beast, one of the few movies Delaney had forced him to watch when he was not only a child, but during their weekly movies nights. He was still taking in the room when he heard someone crying. He turned his head to see it was Ophelia. He had never seen her cry before, at least not like this. No. This was something different. He immediately rushed over to her. Why was she crying? He didn’t need to ask. He saw as soon as he approached her. Talia lay in her arms, bloody and broken. He lifted a hand to his face and covered his mouth with it. Dear God... He placed his
free hand on Ophelia’s shoulder. He couldn’t do much else to comfort her, not with Talia in her arms.

Then others started arriving. Remi, Matthew, and Cami all approached Talia. Nathan couldn’t look, especially at Cami. It would break his heart to see her cry. Ophelia crying had already done it’s fair share, but Cami could make it worse. He averted his eyes and stared at the dying girl.

Willow watched Ezra allow Lucas to glow. Lucas was completely ecstatic. He could feel the energy surrounding him and squirmed as he struggled to keep his eyes closed. Willow just shook her her slightly and smiled, her thoughts running to what Ezra had said after his embarrassing attempt. A force field. Whatever had brought them together did not want them to leave, or at least break out before something could happen. What, she didn't know. Whatever it be it better not be something bad. She was still groggy and not in the mindset to deal with something bad.

Lucas opened his eyes and smiled with delight. "Oooh, now I'm like you! Mommy, why don't you glow?" Willow places a hand on her son's shoulder and was about to respond when the ground opened up and she was falling. She grabbed for Lucas about the same time Ezra did, reaching him only a second before. However, Ezra was strong and Willow and Lucas both ended up being pulled to him. The three hit the ground and Willow immediately checked Lucas. He happily stood up and walked to the other side of her, wanting her to get up. She shook her head slightly and got up. They had just plummeted from a ceiling and Lucas wasn't the least bit phased about it. Lucas tugged on her hand and he pointed to the small cluster of people in the center of the elaborate ballroom. It took her a few seconds to process what she was seeing, and when it did, she pressed her son's face into her leg and ran her fingers through his hair. She watched Remi cradle Talia in his arms and Willow couldn't help but want to comfort him. She was close with Remi. He was one of her best friends, and she had shared a decent amount of her time with Talia because of it. Why Talia, of all people? Someone so innocent and kind. The thought of someone hurting her made Willow sick. She closed her eyes and tried to suppress her anger. Unforgivable.

He had gotten to Eva, he could tell. She looked up at him after a while, ready to speak. This was it. She would accept and he would be one step closer to getting his final prize. He almost smiled, but it hadn't been confirmed. No need to celebrate just yet. She opened her mouth to speak, and then they were falling. Damian immediately changed the force of gravity. He outstretched his hand nonchalantly and leased the force so he lightly landed on the ground. He watched as Eva hit the ground and he smirked. If she was with him, she would know how to make split second decisions, how to maneuver her powers in such away that her reactions with them came as naturally as the instinct to scream. He place his feet lightly on the floor and then proceeded to walk to the darkest corner of the room, which was rather difficult considering he was now in a brightly lit, extravagant ballroom. He leaned against the wall causally and watched as everyone cried or watched. He recognized the girl as Talia. Yes, he knew her, along with everyone in the room. One of the perks from being an outcast was the way he could observe and intake information. Talia: close friends to Ophelia, Cami, and Matthew. Sister of Remi. Even if he hadn't know, it wasn't hard to guess. They were the most emotional ones out of everyone, and the resemblance between she and her brother was difficult to miss. He watched as Remi held her and Damian tilted his chin up slightly.

Damian remembered observing Talia, much as he now did with Eva. He would watch her, follow her, see what she could do. He knew she could manipulate magma. It was a marvelous gift, really. Pity. Just like Eva. If each knew how to use their powers they wouldn't need to worry about being hurt. Damian put his chin back down and glanced at Eva.

Celeste uncrossed her legs and recrossed them with her right over her left. She was waiting. Waiting for the saviors to stop trying to break out of the rooms they were in. Some of them realized that they were being closed in by a force field. Other people just kept trying to get out. Celeste couldn't hear what they were saying. The field was keeping her from interfering. But their was one child she couldn't see. Talia. And that worried Celeste, but the field had a mind of its own. When they were ready, the field would let them go. Celeste stood up to pace back and forth. Her outfit not complying with the way she was walking. Using both hands, she held it away from her feet so tha she could pace in peace. And finally they all disappeared into the ballroom. It must have been time for Celeste to approach them. To explain why they were all here. It was quite exciting and nerve racking at the same time. It has been centuries since the last time she had to explain to a group of teenagers why they were special. With a wave of her hand she was at the entrance of the ballroom. She was expecting confused children, but they were all sad. Then she remembered Talia. The girl she couldn't see while she was waiting. Her eyes grew wide and she made her way over to where some were gathered.

Celeste didn't want to break up the mourning period, but if Talia was hurt without Celeste knowing they didn't have time for mourning. Without a word, she bent down and picked the poor child up in her arms. She treated all these children like they were her babies and her child was hurt. Muttering a few words, Talia disappeared from Celeste's arms. She turned to face the crowd. "I sent her to the infirmary. She should recover to full health." Celeste already had someone in critical condition the elements haven't even started training. Kain is much stronger. He already knows who is gifted. They needed to get started right away. Sooner the better. "I guess I should introduce myself." Celeste turned around to face the teenagers. It would have been better if they all had smiles on their faces.

"My name is Celeste. I am in charge of informing you all about what is going on." Celeste watched them for a moment and didn't give them time to question her. "You were all hand picked by celestial beings to carry on celestial duties on earth. Including stopping Lord Kain." She looked down at the ground and then back up. "Kain...he is the one that hurt your friend. I didn't know that he would figured you all out by now." Celeste cleared her throat. There was no time to get in her feelings. "You all will have to train and master your abilities in order to defeat him." Her explanation was almost over. "Remi. Ezra. Eric. Greyson. You four will lead this group. Any further questions will need to be directed toward your personal muses. I will be around. Please don't let Kain hurt another one of you." Celeste didn't want to see another one of her children get hurt.

She disappeared leaving behind some of the twinkling stars. It was time to get serious.

Ophelia allowed Remi to take Talia from her arms. Cami and Matthew joined her knelt down beside her. She felt as though she couldn't breathe. Who could do this to such a wonderful person? This wasn't fair. Nathan was close by in what felt like an attempt to comfort her, but she wasn't sad anymore. Shew as angry. Furious even. Ophelia's blood was boiling and she could feel her temperature rising. The unfortunate part about being of fire, when she is angry her abilities take over. They usually just make her hotter. It was why when Ophelia was angry something was usually set on fire. But she didn't say anything. The tears that were on her cheeks evaporated. The brunette knew she needed to calm down. She couldn't get someone hurt from how angry she was at this current moment. That was when someone just appeared and collected Talia. Ophelia was on her feet in an instant and before she could say anything Talia vanished. Miss Landers was about to scream, but she explained where she was. She couldn't really get mad over that.

Ophelia stayed near Nathan, but didn't touch him. She was still burning hot and she didn't want to burn him on accident. She tried her best to listen as Celeste spoke about what was going on. Why they were here. What the plan was. But only one name mattered. Kain. The bastard that hurt her friend. A person that needed to die. A tiny fire ball formed in Ophelia's hand. She wasn't creating it, it was just from thinking about the things she was going to do to Kain. He was at the top of her destroy list. When Celeste disappeared, Ophelia turned to Nathan. "We have to find him right now. I have to kill him."

Greyson didn't know what to do or how to help Remi. His sister was on the verge of death and he couldn't bring him back. The mood of the room was depressing. He wished their was something he could do to make it better. But that would mean going back in time to protect Talia. Only problem with that is that he can't go back in time. Then a random collected Talia from Remi. Greyson didn't really think that was a good plan, but as she explained where she was sending Talia he thought otherwise. Celeste seemed to really care about Talia. As if she raised her. As Celeste continued to speak, Grey made his way towards his best friend. It was just to keep him from doing something stupid to himself or to someone else.

Kelsey was standing very close to her father, afraid to look at her godfather. He was so distraught that it made her sad to look at him. Greyson looked at Celeste when she called his name. He couldn't believe that he was a leader. The only thing he has ever been in charge of was his daughter and sometimes Remi depending on the state hew as in. Right now would be one of those times. Celeste left and his focus was back on his best friend. "Remi?"

Eric and Evangeline felt bad for the fact they weren't as sad as the others. They felt awful that Remi almost lost a sister, but they weren't that close to her or her family. But Eric could only imagine what it would be like if the same thing happened to Evangeline. So they just kept quiet and watched. Eric saw Delaney just stand still so he left his sisters side to comfort his blonde crush. He knew that she was used to helping people, but this was one person she couldn't help. Eva went over to Willow. She knew that Willow was friends with Talia and she could only imagine was going through her head. Lucas seemed confused and sad for the fact that his mother was affected by the situation. Eva ran her fingers through his hair and stood close to Willow.

There was someone that collected Talia and sent her to the infirmary. Then she explained everything. From their abilities to Lord Kain. Eva thought it was nice that she and her friends weren't the only ones with this burden. Then Eric's name was mentioned to be leader. Eric didn't mind of course, but Eva did. That gave him more reason to control her life. She would love to have complained to Celeste, but she was gone. Eric looked over Delaney. "Are you alright?" He was genuinely concerned for her. Eva didn't say anything to Willow. She was waiting for her best friend to speak first.

There was a sliver of hope in Matt's eyes when Remi started to speak to Talia. But was quickly replaced with sadness when she didn't respond. Not even a twitch of the finger. The blonde boy just continued to cry silently. His best friend was hurt and he didn't know what to do. It was like he forgot how to function in life. He wasn't one to cry in front of people, but he didn't care. They were unimportant. Talia was just taken from him. Someone came and took Talia. Matty couldn't even move to see who it was. All she said was that Talia was in the infirmary to recover. But Matty didn't think that was enough. He needed his best friend now.

Celeste spoke about their abilities and what was going on. The name Lord Kain was thrown out there and it stuck with Matthew. Kain ruined him. Messed with Talia. And indirectly got to Remi. He was so hurt and angry. Matthew just kept quiet. He brought his knees to chest and hid his face. He didn't want to talk to anyone. He didn't want to be bothered. Matt wanted Talia back. Celeste disappeared and he continued to sit there. Completely devastated.

Delaney continued to watch, her eyes on the ground near Talia but not directly on her. It was hard for her to look. She wasn’t bothered by her condition or state she was in, but the way others were crouched around her and the solemn atmosphere of the room. Just then, a woman appeared out of thin air. She walked towards Talia, and soon she was gone. Delaney wildly looked at her. Why would she do that? The woman explained who she was and where Talia had been sent. Delaney just listened quietly. relieved Talia was being sent somewhere to be taken care of. She made a mental note to go and visit her later. She could help heal her, and it would be good practice for her.

The woman, Celeste, brought up Lord Kain and Delaney looked down at her hands. An evil galactic lord? She meant, they would actually have to fight him? After what he had just done to Talia? No way. Delaney sighed right when Celeste brought up training. Woah, woah, woah. She looked up quickly, trying to register what was going on. An evil galactic lord Kain..train to fight him..possibly end up like Talia. Before the words could set in her mind, Eric was by her side. “Are you alright?” Delaney stared at the ground for a few seconds before turning her head to look at him. “Correct me if I’m wrong, but we’ve been chosen among millions of others, to fight against some evil galactic lord and face death while doing so?” She shook her head. The request was ridiculous. If she helped, she saved millions of lives. If she helped, she faced losing those she loved.

Nathan had his hand on Ophelia’s shoulder roughly two seconds before he yanked it away. Bad idea. He could feel the heat radiating off of her body. He took a cautious step back and kept his eyes on her at all times, in case she did anything rash. That was the last thing everyone needed right now. A woman appeared, took Talia away, and explained why everything was the way it was. Nathan listened carefully. Everything started to add up slowly, but some blanks were still left. Maybe they could be filled in over time.

Ophelia turned to him swiftly and declared they had to find Kain, the one who had nearly killed Talia. Not only did they have to find him, but she had to kill him. Nathan looked at the fireball involuntarily forming in her head and he outstretched a hand towards her, enough not to get burned, but close enough where she could feel the heat. “Absolutely not. I’m sure everyone here right now would love to get their hands on him, but you can’t go after him and expect to kill him when you’re running off your emotions.” Nathan tried to calm her down, but he knew how she got when she was angry. She’s a wild fire and will take down everything in her path. Whatever it takes. He shook his head slowly and planned out his words before speaking them, his voice low and stern.. ”We already have someone on the verge of dying. We don’t need another person in that situation.”

Eva appeared at Willow’s side and Willow shook her head angrily. Her nerves were shot. “I can’t believe this.” Willow let her hand drop to Lucas’ shoulder and he wrapped an arm loosely around her leg. She looked at him, trying to remain calm. She needed to stay calm if she wasn’t going to make the situation worse. She wasn’t going to put Lucas in harm’s way; she had to remain calm. Not to mention there was another child in the room, who from the looks of it, belonged to Greyson.

A woman appeared, Talia disappeared, and Remi started screaming. Remi. Willow turned to Eva. “Can you please look after him? I need to go..” Her words drifted off, and she was already unwrapping Lucas from her leg. “Mommy’s gonna go to Remi for a second. I’ll be right back. Aunt Eva is going to stay with you, okay?” Lucas looked up at his mother and nodded, staying quiet. He could tell something was wrong and kept his mouth shut. He was handed off to Eva, and he lifted his arms up towards her. Willow left the two and made her way to Remi, who looked possessed at this point. She blinked in shock. She had never seen her friend like this in all the time she had known him. Then again, Talia had never been like this before. She continued to cross the floor, and it seemed every step closer she got, the more ballistic Remi became. She needed to calm him down.

She closed her eyes briefly, clearing her mind and concentrating. As soon as she relaxed, she heard everyone. Their thoughts raced through her mind, but they were far off and distant voices, but she singled out her best friends. His was loudest right now. She opened her eyes and held the connection with him. “Remi,” she kept her message soft in his head. “I need you to calm down.” She knew that would be fruitless, considering the state he was in, but she needed him to hear her. She didn’t want to tamper with his emotions, but if it came down to that, she would. She waited for a few seconds and nothing. She could feel the energy he was accumulating and she huffed. This was not good. If he kept it up, he could injure everyone around him. She opened the link up more, allowing his emotions and mind to completely open up inside her own. His emotions hit her like a brick wall. Her head immediately throbbed and she put and hand to her temple. Negative emotions were everywhere. Sadness, pain, frustration, anger. It was so overwhelming she had to close the link between them. She had never felt anything like that before. She put a hand on her gut. Her lungs burned; she didn’t know she had been holding her breath. It took her a second to recoop.

When she could breathe, she walked over to him swiftly, closing the gap between them in a few seconds. She took a place besides Greyson, and grabbed Remi firmly by his left arm. “Remi!” She grasped his arm and glanced to check neither child was looking. She brought her hand swiftly across his face and stepped back. She hoped that would do it.

A figure appeared between the group and took Talia away. The woman identified herself as Celeste, and it seemed as though she had known them all for a while, including him. Damian watched her. He didn’t like her. The way she just appeared before everyone and immediately took control of the situation. On what authority was she acting? If she was so important, why was this the first time she had shown her face to any of them? He didn’t like her, but he couldn’t help but be impressed. Not everyone could act the way she had under pressure.

He turned his head to get a better look at her. She seemed sad by the sudden turn of events, just like the others. “You were all hand picked by celestial beings to carry on celestial duties on Earth. Including stopping Lord Kain.
. You will all have to train and master your abilities in order to defeat him.”

Lord Kain..interesting.. He, along with the others, had been picked, out of the billions on earth, to defeat him. He stared at the group in front of him. He could almost smell the weakness radiating off of the others. Damian knew he could take on the challenge, with or without the others. He didn’t need them. However, he would enjoy training. He could see what the others were actually capable of. He knew what they could do, but not to what extent. It was the same with Eva, although he had gotten a taste of that earlier. He didn’t want to train with Eva in front of the others. No, because there would be others to intervene, and that would not be acceptable. Being interrupted during his time with Eva would call for pain to those interrupting them. Damian started running through lesson plans when his thoughts were interrupted by Celeste. Eric, Ezra, Remi, and Greyson were to lead. Damian chuckled darkly. Like he would listen to them. They could try to control him. They could try to instruct him. They had authority appointed by a random woman. How legitimate was it? Damian stood up straight, taking his back off the wall. At least he could look forward to training, even though participation was questionable.

Delaney awoke to the sun’s morning light streaming through the windows and going directly into her eyes. She rolled over on her stomach and buried her face in her pillow. She was still tired and did not feel like getting up. That was the last thing she wanted to do. Last night had wiped her out, and the lack of sleep she had gotten was not helping her case.

She could feel herself slipping back into unconsciousness when something was hurled at her. The object lightly hit her arm and she moaned softly. “Five more minutes.” She wrapped her arm under her pillow and sighed. Another object thrown at her, but this time it hit her hard in the back. “Ow! What the-” She lifted her head to see a young girl, about her age,l standing in the corner of her room, arms crossed, staring at her. The girl tapped her foot impatiently and Delaney jumped back on her bed. “Um, who are you?” The girl laughed half heartedly and flipped her hair over her shoulder. ”I’m your muse, and you have school.” Delaney looked the girl over. She faintly remembered Celeste mentioning each of them would be getting a muse. Delaney’s mind was more focused on training and potentially agreeing to be part of a death mission during Celeste’s visit rather than the muse she would get. Delaney repositioned herself and saw the objects on her bed. A pillow and an alarm clock. “If you wanted me to get up you could have turned the alarm clock on instead of throwing it at me.” She squinted her eyes at her muse and her muse shrugged. ”I didn’t think of that.” The stranger flipped her long brown hair over her shoulder and walked over to Delaney, pulling her off the bed. ”Get dressed. Clothes are in the closet on your right. I helped pick them out. I just hope you have a good fashion sense like I do. I’ll be outside your door and when you’re done we can go to the kitchen.” Delaney just stared at her muse blankly, and the muse rolled her eyes, disappearing from the room. The blond stood in the middle of the room by herself and sighed.

Nathan was still on his stomach, arm under his pillow, half asleep, when he heard two voices not too far away. He recognized the one as Ophelia, but he didn’t recognize the other. He turned his head to see a small figure on his girlfriend’s shoulder, just to see it disappear a few seconds later. Ophelia stood a few feet away from him and Nathan rolled onto his back to look at her. He rubbed the sleep from his eye with the palm of his hand and sat up. ”Morning, beautiful.” He smiled at her. After everything that had happened the night before, he was hoping today would be a good day. He knew some must still be torn up about Talia, but maybe she could be visited today. He could go with Ophelia if she wanted him to, or if she needed him to. The sun was streaming through the window onto the floor, and it looked to be a promising day weather wise. He hoped it would be promising in other ways, too.

Nathan got off the bed and walked over to Ophelia, wrapping his arms around her waist and kissed her softly on the lips. He pulled away to look her in the eyes and grinned. ”How are you this morning?” He could ask about who she was talking to a little bit. He wanted to see how she was doing first.

”Mommy! Mommy! Get up! Up, up, up!” Willow felt her leg being pulled on lightly by her son as he yelled for her to get up. “Where’s the fire?” Lucas giggled as he climbed on the bed, bouncing a few times before throwing himself on his mother. Willow exaggeratedly groaned in pain and Lucas crawled to his mother’s side. ”Mommy?” Willow peeked an eye open and the sat up on the bed, tickling her son. Lucas squealed in laughter and rolled from side to side. She laughed with him and slid off the bed. She stood and stretched before leaning back down and grabbing Lucas off the bed. She placed him on the floor and he ran to the door. Willow still thought it was odd there was a room for her and Lucas to sleep in. She thought they would have had to share a bed, but when she found a room it had a bed for each of them. She went to the door and they left the room, finding a bathroom rather quickly. They both went through their normal morning routines.

Willow dressed herself and her son and she pulled her wet hair up into a bun. It would dry on its own. Lucas played with the sheets on the bed as she combed through his hair. When she was done, she walked to the door and opened it. “Come on, let’s get some breakfast.” Lucas quickly jumped up from the bed and walked over to her. The two made their way around the hall, and Willow smelled something being made before she even turned the corner. They followed the scent until they found the kitchen. Willow walked closer the kitchen, and she saw Greyson, Eric, Ezra, and Remi. Willow figured Lucas saw Remi before the others from the way the child walked over to Remi and wrapped his arms around the man’s legs. Willow walked over to Remi who was in the doorway, and grinned at him a little. “Hey.” She kept her voice low. She knew he was still worried about Talia. She was too, but not to the extent that he was. She couldn’t imagine being in her best friend’s shoes right now. “How’d you sleep?”

Damian walked around the room. He ran his fingers along the walls and sighed happily. After exploring the mansion all night, he had come across a large, empty room on the fourth floor of the mansion. It was nestled in the far right corner of the floor between a bathroom and storage closet. This would be the room he would use with Eva. It was perfect. He left the room and made his way down the steps and around the mansion. He had to find Eva. He needed to find out her answer. After everyone had cleared out of the ballroom last night, Damian had stayed behind and waited to leave. He had seen Eva and Willow in the halls looking for bedrooms, but had not seen them pick their rooms.

He walked down another flight of steps and stopped in front of a girl with white hair styled in a pixie cut. He didn’t recognize the face. She smiled at him mischievously and he stared at her. ”May I ask who you are?” She walked closer to him and placed a hand on his chest. I’m your muse. Pleasure to meet you, Damian. He lifted his chin curiously and scanned her over. She was tall, slim, clad in black. He took a step back and watched her hand fall. ”Pleasure to meet you as well, muse. Do you have a name?” She stepped away from him and folded her hands in front of her. Yes, actually. You can call me Gravity. We, muses, are named accordingly. Whichever ability you, or your peers, possess, that is what we go by. Damian nodded his head once and turned around, walking away from her. Gravity followed and Damian decided to ignore her. He had remembered the woman mentioning something about them each receiving muses, but his could just get in the way of training. If he were to train Eva and either of their muses interrupted, he would be furious. There was no need for them to be here. They would just make things difficult for him.

Delaney rummaged through the closet, grimacing slightly as she did so. Many of the clothes weren’t her style. In fact, a few of the dresses hanging to the side scared her. She didn’t want to think about why or for what event her muse had put them in there for her. She didn’t feel like getting ready or going to school. She plucked a pair of jean shorts and a tanktop out of the closet and quickly dressed. She brushed through her hair and met her muse outside. Delaney watched her muse asses her outfit and frown. ”Well someone needs a lesson in fashion. We can do that after school.” Delaney rolled her eyes and asked her muse where the bathroom was. Her muse pointed to a door on her left and Delaney went in to use it before heading to the kitchen.

On the way to the kitchen, Delaney turned to her muse. “So, do you have a name? Or do I have to call you muse?” The muse grinned. “We’re named according to what powers you have, so I’m Plant, which is really unfortunate. Wish you could just manipulate vines. How sick would the name Vine be?” Delaney glared at her muse. “Well sorry for the inconvenience.” Plant laughed and skipped in front of her happily. ”Don’t sweat it. Come on, Eric’s waiting for you.” Her muse turned and wiggled her eyebrows at Delaney before disappearing around the corner. Delaney could feel her cheeks heat up and she looked down at the ground as she kept walking. She thought back to last night when Eric had left her at the door of her room with a kiss on the forehead. She had almost wrapped her arms around him and hugged him, pulled him close to her. Instead she froze and just let him go. Her stomach twisted as she stepped into the kitchen and looked at how many people were already there. The first person she saw in the kitchen was Eric. She ducked her head slightly and heard him ask Ezra to go find fruit. She looked at the two and spoke quickly. ”I can help you find fruit, Ezra. It should be easy enough.” She smiled to herself. She could already feel where the plants in the house were and in such a big house, she didn’t know how Ezra would go about finding fruit. She could tell there were a bunch of fruit trees in the backyard. She knotted her fingers together as she waited.

Nathan was relieved a little when Ophelia said she was better. He knew she must still be upset or angry or both, but her being better than last night was good for him and everyone else. She most likely wouldn’t do or say anything rash regarding the death of the Kain guy, or at least not this early in the morning. He could rest easy for now. Ophelia mentioned a shower and he chuckled. He ran a hand through her hair when it started to fall in front of her face. He remembered they had school and he almost sighed. He would rather stay home with his girlfriend and cuddle and watch movies. He was too mentally exhausted to go about his normal routine and sit in a building with a bunch of people he barely cared about. He would rather stay in the mansion, even though it was still foreign to him. “I’d love to, but with the others around we wouldn’t want to disturb them if they’re sleeping. How about I go to find us something to eat while you get ready? I’ll help you find a bathroom.” He winked when he mentioned disturbing the others and took hold of her hand, walking towards the door. He was glad Ophelia was able to joke with him. Her joking around made him instantly feel better. She must not be as bad as he had thought, but he knew she was still hurt. At least she was trying to lighten the mood. He was grateful for it. As they reached the hallway, he turned to look at her. “Who were you talking to this morning? I woke up to you and another voice, unless that was a dream.” He didn’t think he had dreamt it, but he wasn’t entirely sure. Maybe he had imagined it.

Remi scooped Lucas up in his arms and the child wrapped his arms around the man’s neck. Willow nodded when Remi said he slept, but didn’t elaborate on it. She was glad he had slept. If he had stayed up night pacing the floor or trying to get to his sister, she wouldn’t know how to go about that. Of course he needed to see Talia and check on her, but it was a long night and after the show he had put on before Willow slapped him, her friend deserved a goodnights sleep. He must have been exhausted. She could relate to his comment. A long, dreamless night for her and her son, she assumed. Lucas usually went to her when he had a dream.

Remi asked how her and Lucas slept and she shrugged. “The same, I guess. Nothing special about it.” Remi played with Lucas’ hand and Lucas smiled as he spoke, lifting his other arm up in the air. “Great! I had my own bed and...and mommy and I had a tickle fight this morning!” Lucas leaned closer to Remi and whispered in his ear, even though Willow could still hear. “Don’t tell mommy, but I won.” He pulled back and smiled triumphantly, and Willow smiled at the two. If anyone could put a smile on a person’s face, it was Lucas. Then again, she assumed any kid could do the same. Kelsey probably could too. Willow looked at Greyson cooking with Eric and she looked back to Remi. She could see Matthew a few feet away from them out of the corner of her eye and Willow just watched him approached. She thought it was weird to see everyone coming together under one roof and interacting. She wasn’t sure of the relationships between everyone, but maybe she’d find out sooner or later.

Gravity kept bothering Damian as he wandered the halls in search of Eva. He could smell something being made, but he could eat later. It wasn’t like he had anywhere to go during the day. Gravity brought up him being rude again for about the sixth time, and Damian abruptly turned around. ”Excuse me when I say this, but I don’t need you. If I wish to converse with you ever, I will turn to you. However, if you really want assist me right now, could you please direct me to Eva’s room?” Gravity came up short and she nodded her head quickly. Damian could tell he got to her and he straightened up, waiting. Gravity passed him and continued forward. Follow me.

Damian walked right behind her. His muse led him down several halls until they came across a door. The girl cleared her throat before Damian could knock. She’s not in her room right now, she’s in the bathroom. So you will wait outside the bathroom until she emerges.” Damian sighed softly and nodded his head. He was starting to become agitated, but he had to remain calm for his conversation with Eva. If she said no and he lost his cool, then there was no way she would willingly say yes. He would just frighten her more, in which case he could threaten and force her to train with him. That wouldn’t be too bad after all. Damian leaned against the wall connecting to the door and turned his head to his muse. “If you do not mind, I would like to speak to her alone. You may reappear after. Is that understood?” Gravity hesitated before nodding her head. Yes, I understand. She disappeared and left Damian by himself. He waited against the wall until he saw Eva come out of the bathroom. She seemed to be by herself, and Damian flashed his usual smile at her.

Ophelia great despite what happened yesterday night. It was just nice to have someone to help her take her mind off of her best friend. Even if only for a brief moment. He rejected her bathroom proposal, but for a good reason. The wink was assurance that they were thinking on the same level. It was for reasons like that, that she adored Nathan. He flirted with her no problem. Even if it was reasonable flirting. "I will be quite this time. I promise." her voice practically in a purr. Opehlia doesn't know what the word quiet means. But she was only teasing. He had already made up his mind. Which meant they weren't doing anything. They started heading towards the bathroom since he agreed to at least walk her there. As they walked he mentioned the second voice that he woke up too. For a moment Ophelia had to think about it. "Oh. I sort of met my muse this morning. But I sent it away because I didn't want to be bothered so early." Leave it to Ophelia to forced her muse to leave before they were even properly introduced. They got closer to the bathroom and she turned to him. Leaning up on her tip toes she placed a kiss on his lips. "Make sure they have bagels in the kitchen." She whispered between the small gap she left between them. Leaving Nathan, she walked into the bathroom to get cleaned up.

Matthew walked into the kitchen, not expecting the group of people. He first noticed Remi. For a moment it seemed that he had seen him as well, but Remi just went back to talking to Willow. Matt just kept walking to where the bar stool was. It was quite isolated. It was to make sure that no one felt like they had to talk to him. He would be perfectly fine humming to himself. He hummed quietly. Waiting for food to be done. He wanted to go and talk to Remi. To explain why he didn't wait for the older male to wake up before saying anything. But he was surrounded by others. They could talk later. Maybe.

Greyson was practically finished with his part of the breakfast. There were more than enough pancakes and waffles for everyone. When he looked around to see who else had joined them, his face lit up slightly. Camila had joined them. Greyson smiled softly at Cami before she ducked away toward her cousin. He just looked down with a smile still on his face. He wasn't going to confton her right now. He wanted to go deal with his best friend. Greyson washed his hands and walked over to Remi and Willow. He smiled at Lucus. "Hey little man! he said, giving Lucas a high five. Then he looked at Remi. "Hey little man." It was less enthusiastic, but it was just to tease. Then he looked at Willow. "Hope you slept well knowing you smacked my precious Remi." Greyson was truly just trying to lighten the mood. He wanted everyone to be happy.

Eric was making the last of the bacon and he was hoping Erza would just hop to the job without question. But he was distracted by Camila. Not that it was a problem. Eric was a tad bit distracted by Delaney. She had joined them in the kitchen and immediately offered to help find fruit. That was the best job for her after all. He smiled at his blonde crush. Eric thought that he should give a verbal hi or a hug, but he stayed put. He needed to finish his food before his sister came down and complained. Speaking of siblings he looked around. "Has anyone seen Eva?"

Evangeline took her time getting ready for school. It's not like she wanted to go. Being forced to try and understand something she clearly didn't understand. On top of that she didn't want to be bombarded by brother 1, brother 2, Air, and Damian. They were all annoying. Evie really just wanted to see Delaney, Willow, and Lucas before heading out. But she knew that wouldn't be the case. Especially because Air can just pop in and out whenever he felt like it. Damian always seemed to find Eva. And her brother tag team seemed to have implanted her with a tracking device. Running the fingers through her now straight her, she sighed. Time to embrace another terrible school day. She walked out of the bathroom, she saw Air waiting for her. Smiling. She walked a bit closer and quickly realized that it wasn't Air. It was Damian. Why her muse looked like the scariest person alive was beyond her. But the better question was why Damian was waiting for her. Evangeline kept walking by him hoping that he wouldn't want to say anything to her.

Ezra agreed to go with Delaney and she smiled. She saw Nathan out of the corner of her eyes and she smile faltered slightly. She didn’t want to deal with him right now, in front of all these people. She turned her attention back to Ezra and saw him approach her with a large bowl. She shrugged. She didn’t know how much fruit they wanted or who liked what or exactly what fruit was in the backyard right now. She was too far to tell just yet. Ezra met her at the doorway and he added that they would try to find Eva too. Delaney grinned a little. She had barely seen Eva last night since she was with Eric. The two could head off to school together and talk about everything going on. Neither were terribly close to Talia, so it could be easily to relate to each other on the topic.

Delaney and Ezra walked down the halls. “The backyard's three halls over and straight back.” Delaney hadn’t really talked to Ezra alone much. She had been over the Newman’s when he was there and she’s comfortable around him at least. She volunteered to help him find fruit because she knew if she hadn’t he would have gotten lost. Many of them probably would have. As they kept walking and getting closer, Delaney could tell more and more what fruit was in the backyard. She smiled to herself and hoped the bowl was big enough.

Ophelia explained the other voice he had heard this morning and he laughed. The woman that had appeared to them last night, Celeste, he thought her name was, had mentioned something about them getting muses. He thought it was cool. The muses could be their personal little buddies, or something like that. Of course Ophelia would shake her muse off and tell it to leave her alone for now. It didn’t surprise him. They got to the bathroom door and she leaned up and kissed him before sending him off to get her usual breakfast. ”Make sure they have bagels in the kitchen.” Nathan smiled at her. “Okay, your highness.” She entered the bathroom and he followed the mouthwatering scent that was drifting through the halls.

He reached the kitchen a few minutes later and was surprised how many of them were already gathered. He knew many of them had school, but if he didn’t have school he wouldn’t be up right now. He wondered why Greyson, Remi, Ezra, and Eric were up. He could guess, but that wasn’t really any of his business. Remi, Willow, Lucas, and Greyson were by the doorway. He slipped by them quietly and continued into the huge kitchen. He saw his cousin alone and glared at her before walking around her. His eyes next landed on Cami looking for something in the cabinets. He smiled at Cami. He hoped she was feeling better. She still looked worn out, but not nearly as bad as last night. He went over to Eric and stole a piece of bacon off the plate. ”Hey man. Are you the next Julia Child or something?” He teased with a short laugh and Eric asked about Eva. Nathan shook his head slightly. He hadn’t seen her. Ezra went off with Delaney and Nathan went over to the cabinets, He looked for the bread, and then when he found the bagels he plucked one out of the bag. He popped it in the toaster and went to the fridge. He took looked around for the strawberry cream cheese and then took it out and made his girlfriend’s breakfast. He looked at the piles of food around him and laughed quietly. All this food Ophelia could pick from and she wanted her bagel and cream cheese.

Willow watched as Lucas did all the talking with Remi and even caused Remi to laugh. She was glad her son was able to do such a thing, even though it was short and weak. Willow wasn’t the best at comforting people, so she usually tried to make up for it but directing their attention away from the matter at hand. Lucas was stealing the spotlight right now with Remi, and she wasn’t about to stop him. Just then, Greyson approached Willow, Lucas, and Remi and high fived her son. Lucas smiled and greeted Greyson happily. Greyson greeted Remi the same way he greeted Lucas and Willow laughed softly when Remi proceeded to flirt with Greyson. She couldn’t believe him sometimes, but it was good what he was doing. Willow turned her head to Greyson and smiled at him, answering his prior comment. “Why, of course. it really helps a girl sleep at night.”

Kelsey was brought up in the conversation and Willow looked around. Kelsey wasn’t in the kitchen with her father. Maybe she was sleeping. There was no way Greyson would leave her alone. At the mention of Kelsey, Lucas squirmed in Remi’s arms to look at Willow. “Mommy, can I play with her after I eat?” Willow raised an eyebrow. She hadn’t thought he had seen her, but maybe he had last night at some point. Willow looked at Greyson. She figured it would be fine, but if they did Lucas could play with Kelsey while Willow did her school work. “It’s fine by me, if it is with you.”

Eva finally exited the bathroom, but when she saw him she kept walking. Damian chuckled and followed quickly behind her. He had just waited for her, the least she could do is acknowledge him. However, he could have sworn he saw her smile at him. It fell a few seconds later, but it still happened. Lovely, he thought.

”Hello, Evangeline.” She seemed to be scared like yesterday, but maybe she was just always like that around him. He just wanted to talk to her for a few seconds, how terrifying could that be? He would be out of her hair soon enough. He quickened his pace so he passed her by a foot or so, and then turned around to face her. “If it’s alright, I would just like a few minutes of your time.” He smiled and stepped closer to her. He knew how she froze when he was close. He saw it yesterday. That’s what he needed. There was more than enough room for her to turn around a run. They were the only two in this large hallway in the large mansion. if she ran, he wouldn’t chase her. That would be that. He would just close in on her in a more secluded area. The little space between them right now was helping him. He just needed her answer. “I apologize if this visit is unpleasant for you, but I just need something from you.” He smiled and took another step towards her. “I need your answer.”

Ophelia saw that she had clothes and things in the bathroom already. Her muse must be looking out for her. Stripping down to her birthday suit, she turned on the shower water. It needs to be scolding hot for her to be able to feel it. A side effect to her element being fire. She sat there waiting for the steam to clog up the room. Once she could no longer see herself in the mirror, she took a long necessary shower. She took the time to think about her best friend. And then think about her boyfriend. And then she thought about whether or not she take the extra time to wash her hair as well. That decision was made rather quickly. By the end her hair smelled like strawberries. Miss Landers turned off the water and stepped out of the tub. She wiped the steam off the mirror and saw the reflection of a tiny blue wisp. Rolling her eyes, she moved it so that it was in front of her. "By later I meant, when I was dressed." "You were taking too long." The pyromaniac went back to drying her hair. "Well you have until I get dressed to explain what and who you are." Ophelia walked away from the mirror to grab her undergarments. The wisps just stayed by the mirror annoyed by the time limit. "I am your muse. Fire. We are named by your ability. I wish you had a nice ability though. Like Nathan. Having the name Time is better than Fire." Ophelia glared at the wisp.

"Is that it?" Ophelia slipped on a skirt and brushed her hair out. She didn't want water dripping down the back of shirt. The wisp did not appreciate the attitude. "That's no way to talk to your muse." The tiny, helpless looking blue flame claimed. Ophelia giggled. "You are not intimidating. Damian doesn't scare me. You definitely don't scare me." The wisp knew Damian and just backed off. "Well fine. You are free I guess." Ophelia put the shirt on and smiled. Without another word she left the bathroom in search of her boyfriend and her bagel. It wasn't long before she strolled into the kitchen which was surprisingly full of people.

Greyson chuckled and winked at Remi. At least he was trying to flirt, which was a semi good sign. Luckily, they didn't have to go to school. The last thing they needed was to have class. Willow seemed to be doing alright too. She was in a semi-dangerous state the last time he saw her. Lucas clearly had no idea what was going. All three of them were curious to know about Kelsey. "I didn't know my princess was so popular. She is with my muse. But I am about to go get her so that she can eat breakfast." He said so nonchalantly. He trusted Celeste so he trusted the muse. "And as soon as she comes down of course you can play with her Lucas." Kelsey would like having someone to color and stuff with. Then he looked at Remi. "But does my other princess want breakfast? Eric made eggs and bacon. And I made waffles and pancakes." He would get Willow food too if she really wanted some, but he was just really concerned for his best friend.

Eric wash his hands and slightly glared at Ezra when he nudged him. Way to be subtle. The two also agreed to look for his younger sibling and he was quite grateful for that. He was going to force her to go to school whether she wanted to go or not. Not that he really cared if she didn't want to go. School would be good for her and her dyslexia. Delaney and Ezra left for fruit. Nathan appeared and complimented his cooking. Eric just laughed. "I'm more Rachel Ray." They were only messing around of course. Eric doesn't really cook. He usually just buys food. Evie doesn't seem to mind.

Matthew smiled softly at Cami as she went to set the table. He was just trying to be polite. But he was having a hard time keeping his eyes off of Remi. He wanted to go up and talk to him, but he was frozen to his seat. It didn't help that Remi was openly flirting with Greyson. There was some jealousy of curse, but he wasn't going to give Remi the satisfaction. He was waiting for the two people on the mission for fruits to come back. He was hoping they would return with apples. That was all he ever ate for breakfast. Especially before school. The quicker he ate, the faster his muse would take him to Talia.

Evangeline just wanted Damian to leave her alone. He seemed to always want to ambush her when she was alone. God forbid another person showed up it would be like Damian and her didn't even know each other. He ended up catching up with her and blocking her path. She took a few steps backward thinking about bolting in the other direction. But when he spoke, she froze up. Like always. Any thought of running fled her mind. It was annoying what power he held over her. Now she was wondering her Damian look alike was at a time like this. Of all the times she could ask for a muse he wasn't around. Damian seemed to be waiting for an answer. The answer to the question that he asked her before they fell through the floor. She just stared at her, searching for the words. But it seemed that her vocabulary that she learned in elementary school left her. 'Say something!' she scolded herself. "N-no. M-my muse will train me." Evie managed to choke up while taking a few steps backward.

Delaney led them to the backyard and Ezra commented on being homesick. Delaney looked at him and frowned slightly. She couldn’t imagine what it was like coming from another part of the world and then whisked away after arriving. She didn’t know how long he had been back, but it couldn’t have been long if she barely saw him. She eyed all the plants and couldn’t help control the smile that overtook her face. It was like she had a connection with each of them. She could tell which were ripe without seeing them, or which already had been touched by insects. She eyed the bowl around the same time Ezra did. Definitely not enough room. She scanned the trees and bushes and bundles of fruit and vegetables around her. Where to start? Ezra came back with two large, woven baskets with handles and she laughed. There was no way this was a coincidence.

She walked over to the apple tree first and looked up, then at Ezra. “Do you want to get the bushes while I get the trees? Or vice versa, or does it not matter?” She didn’t really plan on getting the bushes. She could easily lift herself into the tree and pick the fruit while he picked the berries. If he wanted to get the trees, she could bend the branches for him. Either way, they were being productive.

Nathan finished spreading the cream cheese on the bagel and laughed at Eric’s comment. “Not bad, but I’d love to see you on dessert.” Eric barely cooked in the first place, so doing something like desserts must be a spectacle and a half. He would definitely have to see that some day. His friend bought food and that was about it. At least he could make non-burnt bacon.

When Nathan finished with his girlfriend’s breakfast, he looked around at all the food options. There were waffles, pancakes, eggs, bacon, and fruit was on the way. He turned to Eric. “So who’s going to be the first to dig in?’ Nathan turned his attention back to the food in front of him. There was so much and looking at it made his stomach grumble. He never really liked being the first for things, unless it was something important. That was about the only time he took the lead. He really wanted some fruit to go with the eggs and bacon he would eat, but he hated having to wait on Delaney to bring back his food. Luckily it was for everyone, so at least nothing could happen to it on the way to him. He turned his head to look at the door way. he wondered how long it would be for his girlfriend to reappear. A few seconds later, the redhead appeared and he smiled at her. He stole a plate off the table and put her breakfast on it, walking it over to her after. Cami had set the table, so he knew there were enough plates for them all. “A bagel with strawberry cream cheese, just how you like it.” He kept his voice low. He didn’t want to be disturbed by others right now.

Greyson explained how Kelsey was with his muse and Willow just looked at him. She wondered when she would get hers. She hadn’t received hers yet and she couldn’t even begin to imagine what her muse would be like. Remi voiced what she had been thinking, about not getting one, and Willow nodded in agreement. “Yeah, neither have I.” Greyson and Remi continued to talk, and Lucas was handed back over to her. She took him in her arms and he clapped when Greyson said he could play with Kelsey when she came down. Willow was glad Greyson was as up to it as she was. They were the only two kids in the house, so it made sense for them to play together. She just hoped they played well together. Nothing was worse than two children who didn’t get along with one another.

Lucas turned to his mother and puffed his lips out. “Mommy, is breakfast ready?” Willow looked at him and then around the kitchen. She could see the pile of food on the counters and she nodded her head. There was the food Greyson had mentioned: eggs, bacon, waffles, and pancakes. Remi parted from them, and Willow followed him into the kitchen. She turned to her son. “What does my little man want to eat this morning?” Lucas put a finger up to his lips as he thought and looked around at the food. He pointed at the waffles with his finger. “Again?!” It seemed waffles were the only food Lucas ever ate. Willow grabbed two plates that Cami had put on the table, one for her, and a smaller one for Lucas, and began putting food onto the plates. She wasn’t going to wait around to see who would eat first. Lucas was hungry, and so was she.

Eva stuttered through her words, and Damian almost smiled. Almost. She declined his offer and explained that her muse would be the one to train her. Damian stared down at her disapprovingly. If she was going to run, she would have done it by now. He was free to speak to her as much as he liked, until someone came and interrupted them. He didn’t enjoy the questions that often followed when he was seen conversing or interacting with people. Many people needed to mind their own business, and it really set him off. He never did anything openly. He enjoyed to act with as little witnesses as possible around, that way there was less of an opportunity to be disturbed. Damian continued to stare at Eva. “Your muse? What a shame.” He shook his head slightly and paused. The thought that she would train with someone else was amusing, but slightly annoying. He needed someone to be his new experiment, and who better than a young, lively, gifted individual? Out of everyone in the house, Talia, Eva, and Delaney were the youngest known users. Delaney was an obvious choice, but her particular gifts didn’t appeal to Damian. Plants were fragile and didn’t take much to be destroyed. Delaney was out. After last night, Talia had been brutally beaten and left for dead. She would have been an option prior to the incident, as her abilities were fascinating, but she was too...strong willed for his taste. He could have dealt with her, but why put in more effort than necessary to control a person? Talia was out. That left Eva. Her gift was lethal, she was strong physically, but she was so terrified of him which left an edge, a weaknesses so obvious that he could easily manipulate it. She was perfect. He needed to have her. He wouldn’t accept anyone else.

“If you really believe your muse will train you properly, better than I could, then by all means. However, I ask just one more thing of you. God forbid, if what happened to Talia were to happen again, but to someone else, someone you love, do you believe you would be ready for it? If it were Delaney or Ezra dying, would you be strong enough? If it was Willow bleeding out in front of you and about to leave poor little Lucas, could you bare it? If it was Eric, his body tattered and torn, would you be ready to lose him? He paused and leaned his head in slightly, lowering his voice to a low, rough whisper. “If you were the one in Talia’s position, are you positive your muse would have prepared you to fight?” He pulled his head back and smiled sweetly at her. “Oh, how I hope no harm comes to you or your friends.” His smiled disappeared and his face returned to its normal, emotionless state. It was an empty threat, but still a threat. He took a small step back. Enough to leave some more space between them, but enough to hopefully keep her still paralyzed with fear. Just one more comment in his little speech. Just one more. “Evangeline, you should know I do not come as a second option.”

Currently, half of the people that she could see in the room did not have anywhere to be this early in the morning. Those people just happen to be the ones making breakfast for the people in the house. That was awfully kind of them. Ophelia could never cook for other people. Because of two reasons. One. People cook for her all the time whenever she needs food. Two. The effort to make food for others was a waste of energy unless she really cared about them. Cami, Talia, and Nathan could get food anytime they wanted. But everyone else would need to beg, plead, and be completely malnourished before she even thought about it. She ran her hands through her hair and saw Nathan approach her with a smile. Adjusting her skirt, she smiled back. Ophelia saw that he had her bagel with strawberry cream cheese. She kissed his cheek and then took her plate. "You are the best." But he already knew that. She picked up one of the halves of the bagel and took a bite from it. Out of the corner of her eye she saw one of her close friends sitting alone. Cami clearly needed Ophelia to cheer her up. Her attention went back to her boyfriend as she swallowed the food in her mouth. "I'm going to go talk to Cami." She saw that he didn't have food in his hands for himself. "And you are going to get yourself breakfast." It sounded like a command, but Ophelia could never really tell Nathan what to do. She never could. He was almost immune. With that she walked around him and semi skipped over to Cami. She took another giant bite from her bagel. "What's up buttercup? Not hungry?" She sat in the stool next to her. "You know if your man candy made the food, it has to taste good." Her voice was low. She didn't want to let the whole world know that Cami had a crush on Greyson.

Remi politely turned down Greyson's offer to get him food, which was completely fine with Grey. He just want to let his best friend that he would be here for him whenever he called. For a moment he lingered with his two friends before deciding it was time to go and get his daughter for breakfast. Willow took her son further into the kitchen to get food. Remi just sat down. Greyson just hoped that Talia was okay to get him out of this funk he was in. It was surely depressing to see Remi less than himself. A sigh escaped him and he started jogging back to his room. Nearing the room he could hear his little girl counting. He raised an eyebrow. "Ready or not here I come!" Her and the muse must have been playing hide and seek. A low chuckle escaped him and he opened the door. "Daddy!" He heard the moment he opened the door. The little girl took her attention away from the door and jumped on her father. Greyson picked up and kissed all over her face. She started giggling and squirming in his arms. "Hey baby girl. Were you having fun?" She nodded her head enthusiastically. Then she turned too see her babysitter smiling wide, while sitting on the bed. "Just shout Water, whenever you need me Grey." With that she faded. Kelsey gasped with admiration. "Daddy! Is she magic!" Greyson laughed and nodded his head. "Yes she is. Now come on. I made breakfast." She clapped her hands in approval and he walked with his baby girl back down to the kitchen to feed her breakfast.

Eric leaned up against the kitchen counter, waiting for Delaney to come back. He just wanted to talk to her. Or just look at her. Which ever he thought would be a bit less awkward. But right now he was waiting. Looking around no one was really eating anything. Willow and Lucas were the first to grab food. Nathan grabbed bagels for Ophelia no less. Everyone else was either too scared to eat first or waiting on the fruit. Eric heard his stomach growl and he decided that he wasn't going to wait for a dinner bell. He grabbed a fresh clean plate and started at the pancakes. He grabbed three of those. Then he threw two big helpings of eggs and five pieces of bacon on the plate as well. He walked over to the table that Camila had set and settled down. Hesitating for a moment, he thought he should at least wait for Eva. But she was taking way to long. Drenching his pancakes in syrup, he grabbed his fork and dug in.

Matthew just watched Camila set the table. There wasn't much else to look at. Well besides Remi. But Remi was too busy flirting with Greyson and chatting with Willow. Matty was trying so hard not to jealous. All the two did last night was sleep in the same room. But when Remi and him made eye contact for a brief second it was like Matthew was invisible. It just made his regret ever having a crush on the man. But Matt couldn't stop his heart from doing what it wanted. He sighed a bit and smiled softly at Camila when she took a seat all by her lonesome. He thought that maybe she was also waiting on the fruit. People were starting to eat the food that had just been made. Matt stayed in his seat and watched Remi join the table. They were sitting close to each other, but Remi didn't say a word. That slightly irritated Matthew, but he pushed that away. He decided that he should at least talk to Remi. Or just say hi. They were supposed to be at least friends. "Hi Remi." Matthew got a genuine smile on his face as he ran his fingers through his own bleach blonde hair.

Damian did not look pleased with her answer. But Evangeline could never really read his emotions on a good day. All she knew is that he was out to get her about one hundred percent of the time. Willow didn't believe her and Eric thought she just needed to be indoors more often. But Evie knew that being inside didn't make her safe. It just gave the tall, dark, and mysterious boy a challenge. For a moment they were silent and Evangeline thought that she was going to be freed. But instead she was given a lecture. The scariest and most thought provoking lecture she had ever heard. And unfortunately Eva was right about her muse. Air never said that he was hear to train her. Celeste never mentioned the muses being helpful in the elemental department. The people that were in charge might have been just as confused as she was with her powers. Damian seemed to have the most control and power in the group. At least from what she could tell. And he was practically offering her power. To actually be able to protect herself and those she cares about. Kickboxing could only take her so far. If she was confronted by Kain she would be absolutely hopeless. “Evangeline, you should know I do not come as a second option.” Her eyes grew a bit wider. Her decision needed to be made now and this would be it. No going back. A shaky sigh escaped her. Eric would not be pleased with what she was about to say. "O-okay." Her voice barely above a whisper. She was practically ashamed that she had said yes.
