The Chosen Ones

The Chosen Ones

0 INK

This is The City of Magic. Everyone knows spells, but they only know one profession. Unless, of course you are a Chosen One (All to be explained XD)

526 readers have visited The Chosen Ones since Monochrome created it.

Introduction

“Why was I Chosen?”

Welcome to the City of Magic. Everyone here knows one Element of Magic. In fact, they are born with a symbol on the palm of their hand, like a tattoo, which gets more and more symbols around it, depending on how much Magic you know. All the residents here must master their Elements. The only way your body will be able to master more than one Element is if you are a Chosen One.

Signs:

The Light Symbol is a heart.
The Fire Symbol is a flame.
The Earth Symbol is a flower.
The Water Symbol is a water droplet.
The Shadow Symbol is a skull.
The Air Symbol is an angel wing.
The Symbol for the Chosen Ones is any of the above in the middle, bigger than the others, and when you master another Element, it appears around the side of the larger symbol. When you master all the Elements, your whole arm will be covered in a special pattern, like a vine with all the Element symbols on. The marks on your hand become whatever desired colour.
Spells:

Light: You can bend light, or you can move it around. You can create Light Balls that float around under your command. It does not burn. You can blind people temporarily with a sudden light in their eye.
Fire: You can make fire out of anywhere, and you can make a fire that's already started bigger. You can stop fires and you can make Fireballs. They burn. if they touch anything. Otherwise, they don't. You can surround someone in flames.
Earth: You can create earthquakes, but that's only for emergencies. You can make trees or Flowers sprout out from anywhere, and you can wrap people in vines.
Water: You can do anything you want with anything liquid. You can make patterns, or you can make Tsunamis (Like earthquakes, it's for emergencies.) You can make Water balls, but if they drop, they soak whatever they fell on. Did I tell you high pressure water magic can cut through Diamonds?
Shadow: You can move shadows around, and if you change the Shadow, it changes the object. You can create Shadow Balls, and if they are thrown at someone, they either gain more shadows or lose some. Having more shadows improves your power.
Air: You can chop through anything depending on how much power you have. For example, if you have barely any power, you can't cut through much, but if you do have a lot, you can chop through things like steel.
Chosen Ones: They can do any of the above.

Honey walked down the crowded street, waving at all the people she knew. She waved at quite a few people, and she saw her favorite shop. It was a sweet shop, packed with different types of bonbons, humbug, everything you could get on Earth. She loved this shop because it was really bright and happy inside, although she felt a bit old compared to the five year olds inside. Looking up briskly, Honey glanced outside. She heard a shout. Running to the shop across the street, she saw the problem; a mere thief. He's an idiot, but his magic was actually quite strong. Honey grinned, knowing what to do. She didn't really want to show everyone she was a chosen one, but the shop-keeper seemed to be having some trouble anyways, as everyone in the street was walking past. She stopped in front of the shop and grinned. The sun was behind the shop, and cast a really good shadow on all the people walking down the high-street, the shop was a florist and there was a cool breeze today. Just my luck. she thought, smiling at all the factors that guaranteed her victory.
"Hey! You!" Honey said, pretending to be a hopeless small person.
"Go away, little girl, if you don't want to get hurt." the thief said, making Honey wince at the words 'little girl'. She then grinned a malicious grin.
"I'm not little, and trust me, I won't get hurt." she shouted at the thief. He looked taken aback, and she knew this was her opportunity to strike. She cast her hands out in a sign so they made a small triangle with her thumbs and she stared at the thief.
"Shadow Snatch!" she cried, and then she put her hands on the ground, grabbing his shadow and pulling it toward her, making him trip over backwards. She quickly jumped behind him. "Earth Vine!" Using the display plants to create a vine of roses, wrapped around his legs, tying him down. Finally, she used the wind to snatch the bag from his hands. "Wind Finale!" she said, using the wind to lift him into the air.
"Not so little now, eh?" she shouted, finally doing a peace sign with his hands at him. She used the created vines to surround his wrists, until the police came. Everyone on the street was staring at her, and someone managed to take a picture of her symbol, but not her face. She grabbed the phone's shadow with her mind, and she put in in her hand. Deleting the photo, she returned it to the owner, smiling at him.
"You're not allowed to publish pictures of me without my authorization." she mumbled, her back turned to him. She walked down the street, feeling kind of strange, knowing that loads of people knew her identity now. She was a Chosen One.

"Oi kid, get us another bottle of beer!" a man yelled from across the room. "That son of a..." Stark growled ready to throw the beer bottle onto the guy's head. "Hey hey, relax. At least try not to chase my customers away. I'm in big trouble is the cops find out I'm letting a sixteen year old work here." The manager whispered, holding the teen back. "Yeah, well that guy pisses me off. Heck it's worth ending up in jail for chucking this bottle onto his head."

"OI! I SAID WE NEED ANOTHER DAMN BOTTLE!"

"It's not about you, it's about my work!!!" the manager hissed at him. Stark rolled his eyes, "Coming..." he mumbled walking over. He slammed the beer bottle onto the table, forcing on a fake smile. "Enjoy." You can easily tell the smile was fake, unless you were an idiot. Either way, Stark didnt care. With a small sigh, he walked away from the drunken group, and took a seat.

"Yo John. Did you find any other place I can work at?" he asked with a small yawn. The manager was cleaning the cups as he looked up at the teen, "Nope not yet. I dont think you need it though. Your father still sends you the money right? Even though you dont see them, they're still supporting you. Besides, you already have three jobs." Stark's eyes seemed to narrow, "I dont care about my father's money." he muttered. The only people who knew he was the "chosen one" were his grandparents and John. They were the ones who supported him, and helped him. Without him realizing, John was looking at the symbols on his arms. "Wow, this is what it's like to be a chos--"

Before the man can finish, Stark covered his mouth, "SHHH! I told you not to talk about it out in public damn it!" he growled, releasing the man. "It's not like being a chosen one is good anyways..." he trailed off as the door to the bar open. With a bored expression, he turned around to see a woman walk in. Stark grinned, "Well hello." he said with a small chuckle. John rolled his eyes, "Here we go again."

Blythe

"C'mon, sweetie," said Blythe, patting the small white stallion on the crest of her neck. She nudged the horse forward with a tap of her boot. When it seemed the crowd was too intense to barge a horse through without trampling someone, she dismounted. Her saddlebags contained nothing of importance- just provisions; a pair of trousers, a canteen of water. Her money and others were in her boots. She glanced around.
In the corner was a local bar. She tied the stallion to the post and snuck a glance inside. There were a few people scattered at the tables, but not so many she became uncomfortable.
She kept a hand at her waist. Unbeknownst to bystanders, there was a small sheathed dagger beneath the loose shirt. She strode up to the bartender; it was not the defeated walk of so many other women around here, but that of a confident queen's. She appraised quite clearly the bartender's look of surprise. He was old, with intense brown eyes and gray hair. Still, she could tell he would have no hesitation in demanding what he wanted. If he raised the prices tenfold because she was a woman, she was unsure if she could hold her temper. But faithfully he handed her her drink after she uncovered a handful of coins from the pockets of her pants. She turned and headed to a more secluded booth and let her eyes drift to the table, examining the cracks in the oak.

Cinnamon:

Cinnamon let out a deep sigh. Why was she here again? Better yet, how did she get here? Deciding that it was too much trouble to think about, she continued walking through town. She let our another sigh as her stomach grumbled. When had she last eaten? A week ago? She smirked. "I thought I'd last a little longer. I must not spend too much money, especially here." she though as she looked around. Her eyes settled on a sweet shop. She was about to walk over when she saw a girl getting into a fight. She watched as the girl tie the man up and hand him over to the police. "She's a Chosen?" she thought as she made her way over to the girl, only to pause as her stomach grumbled. Sighing, she tried contemplated whether or not she should chase after the girl, or buy a delicious looking treat.

"Well hello."

Balboa looked to see a guy with short brown hair and green eyes. He was cute but all Balboa worried about was her hot cocoa, the reason she came into the bar the first place.

"Hi. Are you a waiter? I would like some hot chocolate..."

Balboa nodded her head towards the bar, showing the man where she will sit. She took the red stool closest to the TV which was right next to a big, smelly, red haired man in a leather jacket and jean pants. He was staring at the TV until she came and sat to watch the game as well. Then his lazy blue eyes started to eye her body. Balboa was well aware of his lechery but was used to it. Walking around in a colored bra screamed attention. And for the moment, she was ok with that.

Stark grinned, "Hot chocolate coming up." he said, jumping over the stand. "Oi, one hot chocolate." he ordered, leaning against a wall. "The lady asked you..." John muttered as he started to prepare the hot chocolate. "Hey, the serving is my job, and you do the... whatever you do." Stark replied. John rolled his eyes, sliding the hot chocolate towards him. Stark caught it easily by the handle, and walked towards the table where the girl was sitting. "Here's the hot chocolate." he said putting it down in front of her.

He took a look at his watch, "Oh crap I'm late." he mumbled. "Hey John, I'm out." he yelled heading towards the door. "Alright Ch--" before the man can finish he yelped and ducked under a table as Stark threw a glass cup at him. "I told you to shut up." he growled, but his cocky smile returned. "See ya!" he said putting up a hand. Chuckling, he walked out of the bar, heading towards his next job.

Balboa wondered if the guy even needed a tip. Most waiters get their money for a tip, but this one was well off without it. She left a $5 dollar tip for the bartender instead. Balboa drunk the whole glass of hot cocoa in one shot and then continued to be fixated on the game.

People were talking loudly, some playing pool, others demanding another beer. Balboa hated days like this, days without a goal or meaning or schedule. Her only option was to laze around.

Kage was walking down the street, he was listening to an ipod with only one earphone in his ear, the other hanging down, he spotted a man being taken by the cops, he quickly shot out his shadow's hand and pulled out a wallet from the guy, the wallet was basically floating but if anyone looked at the wallet's shadow they would see Kage's shadow holding it, the wallet came over to him, he looked through it and grabbed the small amount of cash that was in there and then threw the wallet away, the guy obviously didn't need it, he was going to jail and money wouldn't help you there, it was better to put it to use. Kage walked into the sweet shop nearby and bought some chocolate and some other sweets, he came out munching on a bar of chocolate wondering where to go next. He spotted the girl who's stomach had growled as he had gone into the shop and handed her the bag of sweets and smiled.

Blythe sighed. She'd exited the bar and was now striding down the street. She'd left her mare at the bar- she'd return soon enough and had bribed the caretaker handsomely to look after the mare. She strode into the alleyway. Just then, a door even she hadn't noticed- covered with rust and grime; graffiti and sharpie; the door slammed open and squealed like a baby pig. Blythe started.

Exiting from the doorway was a man cloaked in black, from head to toe. He began to approach her but spoke not a word. She refused to back up. She refused to back down. She raised her arms and a large boulder rose over her head. "You don't want to do that," she told him in a calm, measured voice, one of confidence and grace. He remained silent. After he got within a yard's diameter of her, she flicked her fingers and launched a rock at the person's head. She wasn't even sure if he was a he. But as she raised more and more boulders, called upon the soil to sink beneath the ground, he was transparent and floated like a ghost. She could do nothing.

When he gripped her, she felt the iciness as if it had seeped into her bones. "You'll never have me," she snarled at him, her face full of the grime that seemed to drip out of the hood of the cloak and filled her mouth and eyes, and she was suffocating.
"Krishna," she murmured lastly, barely heard by the demon, yet the thing still caught it, and it was valid. Blythe was at peace.

Blythe was dead.

Re: [OOC] The Chosen Ones

Is this RP dead? :(
I was sooo excited.
It seems the best of the RPs die young.
I'm sorry, but I'ma abandon my character.
Poor Blythe.
But since she's dead [in my mind]; I'll try to get everything heated up again with her death. Perhaps that will help everyone out. Yay a death that contributes to the revivial of a fantastic RP! (:
I feel that proud-mom feeling.
Yeah.

Re: [OOC] The Chosen Ones

Is someone else going to post?

Re: [OOC] The Chosen Ones

Finished the character. xD

Re: [OOC] The Chosen Ones

Hey Annaky, can I send in my chosen one from the original City Of Magic? Sorry I kind of let the first one die. :( But I'd like to be in this one.

Re: [OOC] The Chosen Ones

Well, the chosen ones can master their main and it will be more powerful, but even if they master another, they will be weaker.
Shadow-reserved!

Re: [OOC] The Chosen Ones

If you only have the one element is it more powerful that whatever the chosen ones can learn of the magic? that would make things slightly fair, I guess.

Anyway can I please reserve the Shadow Person?

Re: [OOC] The Chosen Ones

may i reserve a chosen one please?

Re: [OOC] The Chosen Ones

O.o this looks fun. Might I reserve a Chosen character? x)
