the Bay of Teraog

Riku walked onto the beach on the south side of the bay of Teraog. He looked up at the sun as it began descending behind the treeline. " Hmmph not safe after sunset guess there is only one way to find out how dangerous it gets." Riku removed his clothes save for his swim trunks and waded into the warm refreshing water as his hands caressed the top of the water it rose ever so slightly in small waves to meet his finger tips his amber eyes scanned the water wondering if the danger would come from the water itself or perhaps the surrounding area. To make sure he wouldn't have something sneaking up on him, Riku kept sending slight ripples through the underwater in case anything was swimming towards him. He would know as soon as the ripple hit it that it was moving so he kept up his guard. Being able to manipulate the water around him made him quite the formidable opponent in water and so long as he is near a source outside the water he is just as deadly.

As he waited and waited Riku began to grow impatient as it was becoming dark wondering why whatever the danger was had it not presented itself yet he wanted a challenge and without one he would surely lose his temper. As he took in deep breaths to calm himself the water around him began to swirl and move around him. For his emotions had a direct effect on his water manipulating powers each emotion effecting it in a different way. With anger and frustration comes violent and powerful attacks but they are hard to control and aim properly. Sadness and depression brings smooth and fluid attacks but are often choppy and sometimes falter, happiness brings a balance of the previous but his true power comes from when he finds the balance in between serenity and anger it is then and only then when he can manipulate the oceans around him as if they were mere cups of water. But he had calmed himself now to a point of relaxation and he still stood waist deep in the water awaiting his adversary.

Many people believed that a monster lurked in the depths below Teraog, supposedly an ancient and terrible creature and thousands of it's babies. Not many knew that it was actually a few thousand different species of creature that lurked below the surface. Sea monsters, water fae, nymphs, beisht kione, cetus, charybdisian star fish, dobhar-chu, mer-folk, hippocampi, hydras, the list goes on and on, but what was most feared was the Moiren, or sea devil, a creature never seen but known by its gurgling snarl and the sound of clicking. Someone was swimming at the moiren's feeding time, that is foolish and would wind up meaning that person must be devoured. What ever he was he was causing small ripples on the surface which made him even more appetizing to the Moiren, whatever it ate it gain it's power, the power over water, better than any nymph, any mermaid or male, the moiren longed for his power. He swam out of his hidden home amoungst the sea weed and began to stalk his prey, staying farenough away that he wouldn't be sensed.

Riku was getting impatient the sun had long since gone down and he was getting nothing from his sensing that there was anything worthwhile headed his way. Sighing to himself he was going to dive in look when a familiar tune rang in his ear. Rising out of the water and gliding across the surface of the water easily due to his bending and he reached the shore quickly. Reaching into the pocket of his pants on the beach Riku retrieved his phone putting it to his ear. " Hello? Yes this is he. May I ask who this is? mhm... well sir to be honest I don't think a meeting would be proper at this time. Just email me the details and I'll get back to you. Well if you won't email it to me then I'm not in that's that. Yeah goodbye to you too." Riku closed his cellphone adding a last dickhead under his breath as he returned to the water gliding to the center of the lake leaning down staying on top of it he placed his hand on the water sending a larger ripple through the depths strong enough to hit the floor and spread out slowly from there. As Riku waited for the vibration to return he began to bend a small amount of surface water around him into a slight whirlpool pattern.
