Saomaru bit her lower lip as the conversation continued to oscillate in the air about her. It seemed that the Earthbending girl- had she said her name was Avani?- and to a lesser extent Eket seemed ready to go right ahead and help, and to be quite frank with herself, she wasn't really sure how she felt about that. The girl was used to letting her brother make the decisions, really, and it wasn't often she went so far as to contradict him, even in the smallest of things. She wasn't sure she trusted herself enough to be comfortable with anyone taking her advice about anything that wasn't directly medical.

Speaking of which... the young man in the corner was struggling even to stand, though he also seemed inclined to go. “I don’t suppose you have another pad do you?” he inquired, and her hands automatically went to her belt-pouches. Still, she knew already that there would be none. The amount of medical supplies she carried on her was enough for the treatment of one, maybe two minor injuries. It had just never seemed necessary to have any more than that, since she was rarely anywhere besides where she and her siblings chose to sleep or the clinic itself.

Shrugging to herself, Saomaru took hold of the hem of her long, tunic-like shirt and tugged, tearing off a portion and holding it out to the person whose name she still did not know. Remembering where she was, she spoke hurriedly. "It's clean... you need not worry." One thing Aliyah insisted on doing was Saomaru's laundry, claiming that no apprentice of hers was going to smell like a street rat.

Street rats... nobody cared about the people down here, she'd learned that long ago. The kidnapping of her sisters, which would have stirred a public uproar had they been upper city children, had gained only the sort of sympathetic hopeless looks from people who had suffered as well, people who could no more do anything about it than she could. Defeat, hopelessness, these things ran deep in the Undercity, but the poor wretched soul on the ground had claimed to be carrying some of it, had asked them to safeguard it.

"Well I'm going," she said simply, giving her brother a look that he rarely saw anymore, the one that meant Saomaru had made up her mind. For so she had, and come Hell itself or high water, she was going to see it through.

Kazuo held the machine in his hands. Everyone agreed to take it to Corva, even though it put them in danger. Hope it was something he had nearly given up on, being stuck in the Undercity for so long might do that to people. He held the strange object in his hands, the man's dying wish.

"Ok, we should take this to Corva." He looked at his sister, she rareley dis agreed with him, he always took care of her. Now they were grown up, she knew what she was getting into, this was her choice and he would respect it. "For hope then. We will take this to Corva. Maybe he can help us get to the Upper city, where we can look for Terra, and Nowah. Who knows, this Corva fellow could be a nice guy right? I'm sure the pirate king will be willing to trade a few favors for this whatever it is." Kazuo was becoming more reassured with their decision, it started to feel right. The hope he almost let go of was growing bigger, easier to hold on to.

"Well, we really don't have much time." Kazu said returning to his normal collected self. "The patrols will be heading here in a few minutes, if we go now we can probably escape. "I'll have to go by our apartment, and pick up some supplies, it's on the way to the South East district, so we wont lose any time." Kazuo was peeking his head out the door looking around at the streets, the smoke had cleared up so now they could move about easily. He doubted that they could escape into the other district without a fight.

The execution was about to take place, Harvey held his head high as the executioner held a gun to his head. The final words were said.
The executioner pulled the trigger and the sound of a loud shot cut through the crowd. Harvey lived. The shot that was fired did not come from the executioner's gun, it had come from a sniper. The crowd exploded with cheering as Harvey was spared, but who had saved his life. A sudden explosion turned the cheering into screams, sky pirates were attacking the Upper City. A balloon hovered over the lieutenant, and a man came down next to him, grabbing hold and lifting him up into the balloon. There was something big going on, the pirates were kidnapping royals, to ensure that they could escape unharmed. Pirates dropped down and picked up Wynmere and Romi, holding them captive in the same Pirate balloon.

"Hold on tight my pretties, this is going to be a rough ride." Said one of the Pirates, to both the girls.

As Wynmere turned to finally leave the square, a loud shot rang out. She stopped short in her movements, and turned back in confusion as the crowd erupted into cheers and shouts of approval. She was almost positive that this crowd wouldn't react that way to a man being executed, but when she saw that Lieutenant Harvey was still alive, and the executioner was the one crumpled on the ground, she couldn't help the small smile that pulled at the edges of her mouth.

But it was only mere moments later that those cheers of approval turned into cries of terror. A band of Sky Pirates had begun their attack of the Upper City, and people began to scatter every which way to escape the onslaught of the pirates. Wynmere watched for a moment as the Lieutenant was hoisted up and into one of the pirates sky balloons.

As she tore her eyes away from the scene, and began to turn with the intention of making her own escape to the Under City, she found herself met with the broad chest of one of the sky pirates. Her expression held shock, and a small bit of fear as she looked up to the mans face. In one swift motion, she was taken by him into his arms, a yelp of surprise and then a cry of distress leaving her lips, and she too was hoisted up into one of the balloons, just as the Lieutenant had been. The female, of whom had run into her in the square, also meet this same fate, and they were both brought onto balloon.

"Please, let me go!" she cried out, her hood once again falling away from covering her head. She struggled against the man for a moment or so until he spoke up, directing his words at both of the girls.

"Hold on tight my pretties, this is going to be a rough ride."

Her struggling faded drastically, as she took in the fact that she was already up in the pirates Sky Balloon, and falling off of it was not an option. She knew the wouldn't let her go; there was obviously a reason they had taken her and her female companion on board. She just hoped they would let her leave soon enough.

But the shock of the situation had her on edge. So she reached her hand out for the closest thing she could grab for comfort, which just happened to be the other females forearm. She hoped her grip wasn't too tight. And she couldn't help the small whimper that escaped her lips at that moment.

Oh, how pitiful she felt. This was the first time she was running away from home, and now, she was technically being kidnapped! She mentally cursed the Gods for her rotten luck.

"Hopefully we get the chance to go back to your place. I left my gauntlets there, I think. I haven't had to use those for a long time." Eket commented, getting more and more excited the closer they got to leaving.

"Alright guys, let's get a move on! Kazuo, you lead the way." He said, still leaning against the door, he pushed off and walked to the door, looking through the crack in the door. "it's clear, for now."

Kazu opened the door and stepped out onto the streets which now seemed entirely empty. He motioned for everyone to stay inside until
he was sure they were clear. He looked both ways across the street, no even a single drone, which was strange there should still be a few of them out there. Kazuo told every one to follow, as he began to jog carefully down the street. He took them through a series of alleyways, making sure to stay out of any place where they could be spotted. After enough time they had made it to their house. Kazuo told everyone to wait outside while he ran in to get his things.

The pirate balloons flew quickly across the sky, they were not pursued because of all the captives that they had taken. They had truly outsmarted the Republic. Sending in the group of pirates to capture the general while the security force was focused on the Under city.
The pirates began to descend into the buildings, getting lower and lower, slowing down so as to not crash into the buildings of the lower city. They eventually landed near an odd looking building. It resembled an ancient Chinese temple, but it had clearly suffered much damage over the years. They landed in a courtyard outside the building, it was pretty well hidden due to the fact that there were no streets leading to it.

"Hey, listen girlies, if your nice enough we'll let ya go soon enough. We just gotta check your ransoms, if you're not too valuable we might let ya walk out of here today, but if your worth something, whoo boy, you better get comfortable." Said a pirate to both the girls, showing them the way off the small aircraft and pointing them to go inside the building.

Kazuo umped out from the window, leaping down onto the fire escape, and sliding down the ladder to meet up with them.

"Alright, I think i got everything." He said handing Eket his gauntlets, he himself now carried a metal rod on his back. "We better head out." They walked towards the border of the sector, they could sneak out under the bridge easily enough. Every sector was separated by a river, more like an open water pipe, everything in the city was man made. When they got to the edge of the south eastern sector they were met with an intimidating sight. A large line of drones were guarding the bridge, accompanied by Shields, large tank like macines, resembling a fat man covered head to toe in armor, this was going to be tough to get past. They would have to fight their way through.

Saomaru took one look at the intimidating line and swallowed. Unlike her brother and Eket, her chosen survival mechanism had always been the ability to think quickly and run almost as fast. She doubted very much that these and her acrobatic skills would be of too much use in this particular situation, and her worry reflected in the look she shot her companions.

She could tell from the expression on her brother's face that he was planning on fighting his way through, and on any other day, she would have done anything in her power to stop it. Right now, though, looking at the device in her arms, which she had taken from Kaz when he entered the apartment, she was for once going to stop discouraging his more belligerent tendencies. Something deep inside herself made her certain that this was something they had to achieve, something she had to achieve, or else just give up trying forever. Maybe it was a foolish thing, to give oneself an ultimatum like that, but Saomaru couldn't help but think it anyway.

Since she had the device anyway, she decided it might be best if she tried to get it across. Running well would be of help here, anyway, and that way, she wouldn't be a hindrance to anyone trying to fight and could still be useful. All the others looked more like the sort to know what they were doing than she, and at least a couple of them were Benders besides. Saomaru fervently hoped that would be enough.

Avani stopped and groaned a bit. She had suspected they would come across the drones again but she was quite fad up with them from earlier. It didn’t matter at the moment however and on the upside she would be able to smash some of their heads in.

She looked around at the group; most seemed capable of fighting, all ready, like her, getting into a fighting position. Her eyes quickly went over to saomaru, was it? She was holding the piece of technology they had been given earlier and nothing else. Her eyes then went over to kazuo who from what she had her earlier was saomarus brother. He would help saomaru if need be most likely, so she diverted her eyes again back in front of her. Keeping in mind to still watch and provide cover if needed. In fact she would do so for all of them, they at least for the time being were her comrades.

Slowly sliding one foot to the side she preformed the correct movements and brought up a couple of rocks ready to throw. She was itching to throw them. Al most shaking in excitement, which lead to her finally giving up on trying to be patient and just throwing the rock forward. It hit one of the drones directly in the head, dislodging said head and making the drone now useless.

As Avani threw the first stone, Kazuo pulled the sword off his back and held the weapon at his side. He clicked the trigger and the round blade began to transform, in a series of snapping a metallic clicking the baton became a justified blade, and with that he was ready. He charged forward to meet with the drones, leaping onto one of them like an animal. He drove the claws of his gauntlet into one of the Shields's heavy metal armor, he held on with that hand and began to strike at the machine with the sword. The edge made large indents into the metal but it did not cut. The Shield drone grabbed Kazuo and threw him. Kaz landed on his back and slid towards the edge of the bridge, digging the claws into the ground he slowed himself down. Getting up again to fight he switched his grip, to a reverse hold. He again charged the machines dodging the occasional rock that was being thrown. He struck at a smaller drone, cutting through the small robot leaving it useless. He finally made him way to the Shield, more cautious this time he waited for an opening. As the machine brought down its heavy metal arm Kazuo dodged it at the last second, jumping onto the thing's arm. He moved up the arm to the machine, in two quick steps and drove the sword straight into the drone, piercing the spot he had already weakened. Kazuo leaped off and landed next to his group.

Saomaru waited with bated breath for the opportunity to strike. Avani's bending was something else, she reflected, and she wondered if the girl had ever had a private teacher for that sort of thing. Most of the benders she had met were self-taught, due to the need for secrecy, and thus only a few were ever really potent at it anymore.

Still, they were outnumbered, and she knew she had to find her opportunity soon. As quickly as she could cross the bridge, they could abandon the fight and evade as well, which might up their chances of survival... it was only then that the gravity of the situation really hit her. Sure, living in the Undercity was a health risk daily, but only rarely were people ever outright killed by something. Most injuries that were not related to disease were accidental. She wondered for a moment if this was the sort of thing that Eket or any of the others she did not know had to deal with on a regular basis. Truthfully, she wasn't sure how they did it if it was so.

Her brother caught a drone and smashed it with his sword, clearing a straight shot for the bridge. Heart in her throat, Saomaru didn't need to be told, and took off from a dead stop, runner's legs launching her forward into a sprint. A few of the drones seemed to have caught on, and she had to duck and dodge around them. More than once, she felt the wind of a near-miss slice over her face or just behind her back, and this only urged her faster.

Ten feet from the bridge, she was forced to a stop. A shield blocked her path, and took a swing at her with the weapon it was holding. Saomaru yelped and threw herself to the side, tucking into a roll with the piece of technology safely cushioned in her grasp. She scrambled quickly to her feet and stood, panting, trying to figure out some way to get past it.

The fight started, everyone seeming to spring into action. Avani jumping forward soon after her first attack, getting out her knives and jumping on top of drones and dislodging their heads. She jumped from to the next, narrowly missing attacks aimed at her.

She wasn’t able to dodge all however and got hit from behind by another drone. Her knives still embedded in the body of the drone she had been standing atop of. She got thrown to the floor, Rowling over the dirt and giving her a couple of scratches. She laid there for a couple of seconds before opening her eyes and seeing a drone coming down with a weapon aimed for her head. Quickly she brought her arms up and with her arms came the ground making a cocoon around her. When she felt the impact on the earth she pushed her hands outwards towards the top of the cocoon and blasted it into the air along with the drone that was still on top of it.

Avani back flipped back onto her feet and looked around she regained her bearings. She quickly located her knives which were still in the drone. Beside said drone saomaru was attacked by countless others, nearly being stopped by one. seeing the drone that was blocking saomarus path go and attack her Avani stamped her foot on the ground, brought her arms into herself and kicked out at the earth that had come up before her towards the drone.
