Description

William “Will” Phillips

Image

~General Info~

Full name: William David Phillips
Nicknames: Will
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Birth Date: May 5th, 1993
Age: 19
Sexuality: Closeted Bi-sexual/bi-curious

Image

~Appearance~

Height: 6’2”
Scars/Tattoos/Piercings: None.
Description: Will stands a solid two inches over six feet and looks... well spectacular. Will’s always been kind of the “pretty boy”, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have other things going for him too. He actually has quite the athletic build, because he swam throughout highschool and during his freshman year in college (he quite this year for lack of time, but might go back next year). He has a little bit of a swimmer’s triangular shape, but it’s not super obvious.

His face is well shaped, and his hair is always kept in order, but it does take work to make it look nice. Will actually gets awful bedheads. He has stunning skyblue eyes and dirty blond hair color, as well as dirty blond stubble, which he has on occasion.

Image

~Personality~
Personality: Will is a pretty chill guy overall. He is able to keep a very level head almost always and rarely gets angry or emotional. He's generally optimistic and chipper, and tries to bring some comic relief wherever he goes, because he knows that life can be hard, a lot. He tries to be a good friend, when he can, but unfortunately he’s not perfect by any means. He can mess up, and every now and then won’t be serious when it matters. That can hurt peoples feelings and possibly, in some of the worst cases, create grudges.

William also takes a lot of pleasure out of writing (or attempting) to write original music, however he’s never found inspiration enough to finish a full song. His musical style is very indie rock-ish.
Hobbies: Practicing guitar, singing, watching foreign films, listening to music (on MP3 and Vinyl), and acting at community theatres.
Major: (double major) Acting and Music

Image

~History~

Relationship Status: Single, looking to mingle.
Family: Will’s mother is deceased because she died during childbirth when Will was four years old. His father is became incredibly passive-aggressive after the death of his mother and after a while became very difficult to live around. He would often verbally abuse his two children, but after a short time Will learned that the bad things his father said about him weren't really what he meant and that he was just upset, however he’s always very protective of his little sister.

His “little” sister is four years younger than Will, making her fifteen. The hardest part of leaving home for Will was leaving her behind. Not only does he love her and miss her, but he’s never been quite sure on how his sister takes the harsh words from thier father. He doesn’t want her to be affected by his father, who he feels probably blames the loss of his wife on his daughter.

Languages: English and French

~Other~
Relationships: Friends, enemies, love interest, etc. will be placed here once we get into RP.

So begins...

Orientation day! Will had just transferred in from a college in his home state of California, and in his opinion, the first day is the best day to make good impressions on the new freshman. Will strolled into the room looking down at the laminated piece of paper that promised the standard stuff, "Free Food, a Fun Time, and Learning." He was particularly exited about the food this year. He'd heard rumors that the cafeteria food here was actually quite delicious. He desperately hoped this was true. Being a sophomore, he remembered that the first year wasn't the easiest adjustment, but it had been a ton of fun last year.

He'd transferred because he had always wanted to be in Florida, but hadn't felt confident enough in his little sister to leave her alone with his Dad for a year, but now she was about to be ready to drive so he figured it was time to leave her on her own. However, if anything went wrong he'd be there in a heartbeat. However, he'd told himself he'd back off a bit.

He strolled in, wearing a skintight t-shirt, which was a sky blue to match his eyes, and jeans that weren't baggy, but they weren't super skinny jeans either. His hair was nice today, as always if he planned to appear in public. He'd moved his stuff up to his room, but he hadn't met his roommate yet. He was going down to inquire about it. After reading the laminated sheet once, he dropped it in the trash, but not in a particularly showy way or anything.

His love life this year hadn't actually begun yet. Last year he'd continued everything with his highschool girlfriend... until he found her in bed. With two other people. One of which was one of his best, well now former best, friends. He was heartbroken, and didn't pursue any new relationships that summer. However, this year he had decided to reenter the game of love, no matter how cruel a game it can be at times. Being single was fun, but being in a relationship is almost always more fun.

He looked around for someone who might have information about his roommate, to no avail. He decided that now might not be a bad time to meet some of the freshman, whom he considered his equals because he to was new here. Luckily, he was a good looking older boy so he figured that it can't be too hard to make friends.

Veronica was just leaving a cafe downtown. She didn't have time to eat breakfast so she stopped by for a coffee and a pastry. She walked over to her car and got in, setting the coffee in the cup holder and she put her pastry on the passenger seat. She set the car into drive and started to make her way to Flagler. Veronica drove for about 10 minutes and then she arrived.

Veronica stepped out of the car, grabbing her pastry and coffee and she slung her backpack over her shoulder. She walked rather fast because she didn't want to be late. She walked through the campus and headed towards the gym where the orientation was happening. Veronica pushed open the gym doors. She was preps, jocks, nerds and basically every stereotype in the gym. She felt awkward wearing her sneakers, jeans and green tank top seeing the rich girls in their expensive attire. Veronica shook her head and looked around.

Veronica walked around, looking at all the booths. They didn't really capture her attention though but she really wasn't paying attention. Veronica looked around, looking like a lost puppy. She had no idea what to do... Check out booths or make friends? Veronica pulled back her red hair into a ponytail. She saw a girl with blonde and green hair. She seemed to be fixed with the cheerleaders.. There was also another blonde girl over by the new student booth... Might not be a bad idea to go there... Veronica kept looking around and spotted a guy... He wasn't really doing anything and he was looking around. Why not approach him? Veronica walked over to the guy. He was pretty tall and she almost had to look up at him. He was pretty attractive but Veronica didn't need a guy right away. "Hi there... Are you new?" Veronica asked him.

Will was wondering around the orientation room still, taking a look at all of the decorations. Someone probably spent a couple hours making this place look nice for the incoming freshman. Unfortunately, it was probably time wasted because the decorations weren't noticed by most. He looked in a window at his reflection. After awhile he decided that he did look a little tired, but it wasn't that noticeable. His mind wondered back to his roommate. Last year his roommate had been some boring book nerd who, while being nice and all, didn't really know how to have fun. This year he was hoping for someone similar to him.

He had stayed up late last night working on his guitaring skills and watching a foreign film. It was French and entitled Thérèse Desqueyroux. It was about a runaway marriage that ended in the wife being disgraced. The best part about French films for Will is that the doesn't need the subtitles. He became bilingual in French back in highschool when he took extra classes to learn more about the language. Unfortunately, the movie and his guitar kept him up until three or four in the morning, and no amount of Starbucks completely make up for his near lack of sleep.

Will wondered about how his classes would go this year. He was looking forward to his theater classes, as well as his writing class. Will had always kind of enjoyed writing. Not enough to major in it, but still. He'd considered switching to a screenwriting major this year, because it's hard to get very far on a musical theory major. And as much as he enjoyed film he would probably be pretty good at it. Maybe next year? Regardless, he had a pretty relaxed schedule the first semester, that way he could settle into his new school much easier.

Will was still looking around and thinking to himself when he spotted an attractive redhead walk up to him. He looked down at her when she greeted him and he replied with a smile. "Yeah, I'm new." He extended a hand for her to shake. "I'm Will. Nice to meet you." She had red hair and an attractive face, and she was holding coffee. Will loved coffee, or more appropriately, Will might have had a small coffee addiction. He drank a cup every mourning, sometimes more than one cup. It really depended on the amount of sleep he'd gotten the night before.

He smiled at the pretty redhead. "Any idea where we can find out about our roommates?"

"Yeah, I'm new." he said and extended his hand out for her to shake it. Veronica held her hand out and shook his hand. They were warm and kind. Veronica smiled. "I'm Will. Nice to meet you." he said. "Nice to meet you Will... My name is Veronica but you can call me Ronnie or Ron...." Veronica said. Veronica watched him glance at her coffee. "You like coffee? Maybe we can get some together some time?" Veronica suggested. "Any idea where we can find out about our roommates?" Will said. Veronica looked around. "Y'know I thought i saw a "new student" booth over there," Veronica gestured over to where the blonde girl was at the booth. "I'm sure they would have an idea. C'mon lets go check it out." Veronica said, motioning him for him to follow her.

Veronica. That was a nice name. It rolled off the tongue well. and she seemed really pretty nice. Will chuckled, "Coffee? I don't just like coffee, coffee is my life partner, but yeah, going to get coffee sounds nice." Will smiled, he'd been at orientation for a very, very short amount of time and he'd already met a pretty girl, who was nice. AND she liked coffee. They say that if you make a friend on your first day your doing pretty well. He guessed he was doing pretty well. She motioned for him to follow her over to the information desks. He stuck a hand in the pocket of his jeans and crossed his fingers. Even though his roommates name didn't tell him anything about the person, he was still a little bit nervous.

When they got there Will noticed a blond girl around there as well, she had a bit off a punkish look to her, unlike Will or Veronica. He noticed the cheerleaders and smiled. They smiled back, and he got a couple of winks because... well... he's attractive. He never really fell for cheerleaders though. They had too much mass in their breasts and too little in their heads. He preferred his girls to be at least somewhat interesting. He turned to the person at the information desk. "I don't suppose you have the roommate list?" The person nodded and pulled it out. They asked for his name, "William Phillips" he replied. They handed him the sheet and he looked up and down until he found himself.

"Look's like my roommate's name is Nathaniel Steele." he said to Veronica, smiling.

He sounded nice, although from what he could tell "Nate" was a year older than him. He supposed that'd be fine though. He turned to Veronica and looked into her eyes, which he found quite attractive. He wondered if she just wanted a friend or if she had different plans for him. He wished, not for the first time, that he could read people's minds.

"Coffee? I don't just like coffee, coffee is my life partner, but yeah, going to get coffee sounds nice." I smiled. "Sounds good." I said. Veronica walked with Will over to the booth. Veronica noticed the cheerleader's giving him winks and she rolled her eyes. Typical. Cheerleaders fawning over the cute guys. Veronica wished he wasn't interested in them... They just wanted him because he was cute... Veronica let out a sigh... Veronica didn't exactly know if she wanted to date Will but she knew she wanted to be friends with him. Veronica watched as Will went and grabbed a sheet and came back. "Look's like my roommate's name is Nathaniel Steele." Will said, reading off of his sheet. "Nice..." Veronica smiled. "I think I wanna check out the booths before I find out who my room mate is." I sigh. "So what's your major? Mine is Literature..." Veronica says, scanning all the booths. None interest her still.

Juliet was highly annoyed. Already. That was interesting, usually she could make it at least a couple of hours before her patience snapped. Apparently today was not her day.

Beside her, an attractive redhead and a very attractive male had joined the group around the table. Why did he apparently get the normal attendant?

Normal people, she thought bitterly.

"Actually, I'm more into Rosaline," she answered as she snapped the stuff she needed out of the very shocked attendant's hand. She smirked at the woman and turned around, finding herself face to face with another boy who was waiting in line. Cute, not very tall, tattoos and a lip piercing--her kind of guy.

She smiled a lot more kinder at him, winked, and then moved out of the way for him. She made a straight B-line that time for the food again. She wanted another doughnut...or two. Maybe another coke. And then she was going to sneak outside and grab a much needed cigarette.

The blonde stashed up on two chocolate doughnuts, grabbed a coke, and shoved both items including what the attendant had given her into her bag. She was outside in moments, walking with a purpose that no one else decided to interrupt.

Juliet leaned against the fancy wall of the entrance with a sigh and dug through her bag for her cigarette pack. What started as a short search soon turned frantic. Cigarette's in hand, she couldn't find her lighter.

"Fuck no," she breathed under her breath and looked up. Not to far from her on a bench was a petite girl with dark hair, smoking. Thank god.

"Hey," she said, oddly politely, and just loud enough to be heard. She held up her pack of cigarette's. "Gotta lite? Can't find mine."

Jo walked through the entrance of the gym. She looked down at the pamphlet in her hand. She had already been attending Flagler for a year now, but a classmate mistook her for a freshman and gave her the paper anyway. She had nothing better to do at the moment and decided she would go just scope out the newbies. Her previous roommate had also graduated and she would be getting a new roommate this year, so it couldn't hurt to figure out who she would be sharing space with.

In the corner was a table with doughnuts and beverages. Her stomach gave a small rumble and she made a B-line for the goodies. She grabbed a chocolate doughnut from the box and chewed it slowly as she wandered through the booths. She already knew of all the clubs they had to offer, though none of them held much interest for her.

After she had finished her doughnut, she decided she should find out who her roommate was. She wiped the rest of the glaze off on her jeans and walked up to the booth. The pleasantly plump lady smiled "Hello," Jo gave a small smile back. "Hi, I just wanted to find out who my new roommate would be this year, please." The lady nodded. "Certainly, may I have your name?" Jo had missed that last part having been distracted my a handsome guy and his red-headed companion. "Sorry...right..my name. Josephina Martinez." The lady smiled and handed over the sheet of paper with her roommate assignment on it. Jo took it and retreated back outside.

The white sheet read "Taylor Murray". "I suppose that's a pretty name. she thought as she sat on a bench next to a girl who was smoking.

Nate bounded off the shuttle, arriving back at Flagler after a nice summer vacation. It felt good to see his family, but he felt he belonged here rather than back in Tennessee. He could see new students walking around the campus, mingling together. It was Orientation Day and many of the new students seemed lost. He made his way to his dorm room to drop off his luggage. He could see that he would be gaining a new roommate this year from the luggage that had been dropped off on the opposite bed.

He was a little too eager to meet his roommate. He knew the booth would be set up in the gym for the new students and decided that was where he needed to go. He pulled his shoulder length hair back into a half-ponytail and exited the room.

He was a fast walker, so it didn't take him long to get to the gym. Many students were outside, smoking or conversing. He nodded to a few of the older ones, recognizing them from his various classes and entered the gymnasium.

He spotted the roommate assignment booth in the very back and made his way there. Upon arrival , he had a short conversation with the attendant, giving her his name, and she giving him the sheet of paper that read "William Phillips" The name was rather unfamiliar. He sat in a corner and scoped out the room, making guesses about his roommates appearances.

"My major?" Will looked down at Veronica, " I have two, Acting and Musical Theory." He smiled. "You could say I'm a bit of a thespian." Then he made a big show of taking a bow to the imaginary crowd. "It was originally just a hobby, but in the end I enjoyed it too much to quit." Will said, "and the musical theory major is because I have a certain talent for it." He paused for a moment, "What's literature like? I've always enjoyed writing and reading."

It was true. He had considered switching majors many a time. Literature just didn't seem his style though. It was a decently employable major though. He wondered if it was to late to switch this far into his college career. Probably. He pulled his phone from his pocket and turned to Veronica, "Can I by chance have your phone number? That way I can take you up on the coffee offer?" He smiled. "Then we can begin the marvelous hunt for our roommates." He offered his phone to her, that way she could type it in. Then it occurred to him to be a gentleman. "Are you all unpacked? I'd be more than happy to help."

He looked around the gym and noticed the cheerleaders once more, this time they giggled and whispered to each other when they saw him. He was used to stuff like that happening though. He shot them a smile, just to be nice though. He wondered if he was making poor Veronica jealous. Wouldn't that be fun. He probably wasn't. He never really saw himself as that attractive, but he'd been told that a lot before. Maybe it was for the best that he didn't see himself as amazing, it kept him from getting full of himself. "Here, I'll give you my number too, if you want it that is."

" I have two, Acting and Musical Theory." he said. "You could say I'm a bit of a thespian." he continued, taking a bow. I laughed and applauded as if I had just watched a amazing show. "It was originally just a hobby, but in the end I enjoyed it too much to quit." he said. "And the musical theory major is because I have a certain talent for it." he continued. "Thats cool..." I said. "I love to sing and act... But I'm not really good at it..." I smiled. "What's literature like? I've always enjoyed writing and reading." he asked. "Oh its great! I loved reading books and writing stories as a kid so this is like a dream..." I smiled.

I watched him pull out his phone. "Can I by chance have your phone number? That way I can take you up on the coffee offer?" he said.. "Then we can begin the marvelous hunt for our roommates." he said, holding out his phone for me to type my number in. "Yeah sure..." I blushed, taking the phone and putting in my number. I hand back his phone. "There... Its in." I say. "Are you all unpacked? I'd be more than happy to help." he asked. I blushed. "Thanks for the offer but I think a girl can handle it... And I don't have a ton of stuff." I smiled. "Here, I'll give you my number too, if you want it that is." Will said. "Oh yeah sure!" I said, nervously. I reached into my back pocket and grabbed my phone. "Here." I said, holding the phone out so he could type his number in.

Will took the phone from her hand and entered the ten digits that could be used to contact him at almost any time. Then, he snapped a picture of himself using her phone and used it for the contact picture. Smiling, he offered it back to Veronica. "Feel free to call me anytime." Will looked around the room attempting to spy the person who might be his room mate. Not that he had any idea what the person might look like, but still. He looked back over to Veronica and smiled, "Well, I'm going to go look around for my roommate a bit, you can tag along if you'd like. After that I might find some food. I'm actually starting to get hungry, and your coffee is making me think of Starbucks." He gestured for her to follow him, if she wanted to that is. The company would be nice. Will never liked to be alone. Life is always more exiting when you have a friend or even, dare he say it, a female friend. To live it with.

Making his way through the semi-crowded orientation gym he noticed the assortment of people in the gym, among them were a couple emo/goth looking kids, some attractive females, the cheerleaders (whom kindly smiled and waved at him again), and one guy who looked a bit older than he was sitting in the corner. He decided to take a B-line to the corner, as the guy sitting there looked more interesting than the other kids, especially the cheerleaders. The dude had pretty long brown hair and seemed relatively chill. His eyes appeared to be scanning the room, for whatever reason. Will didn't think much of it. When he got over to the guy's no longer lonely corner he sat down next to him. Deciding to make the first move, he said in a charismatic voice, "How's your first day going, bro?" Will wanted to try to get to know as many people as he could on the first day.

I followed him, winding through the crowd. We were headed for a guy that looked slightly older with longer brown hair. I smiled at the guy as we approached him. Will said a greeting and I said hello. Nate had been leaning comfortably against the wall, taking stock of the more interesting newbies when two of them came up to him. The guy could be considered good-looking, but Nate didn't swing that way. The girl was obviously gorgeous and he had always had a certain fondness for redheads. The guy spoke to him first. "How's your first day going, bro?" Nate gave a smirk and shook his head. "This isn't my first day, this is my second year. I'm just hear to get a good look at the freshman."

The red-head looked around as if she was out of place. Then another girl came up to her and started speaking to her. Nate turned back to the guy. He seemed interesting enough and it seemed like Nate never had enough friends. He hadn't befriended any new people yet and he liked the look of these two. They seemed like really likable people. "Name's Nathaniel, but you can call me Nate" He said and held his hand out for the guy to shake.

Jo had pulled a book from her purse after some time of sitting with the two girls. She hadn't struck up the courage to speak just yet. As she flipped the pages of A Game of Thrones another girl had come outside to smoke. Jo supposed that she had set in the smoker's corner, but it didn't bother her much, she was used to her Papa smoking cigars at home. "Hey, you all new?" The girl asked in a British accent. Jo decided that now was as good a time as any to make herself heard. She put her book away and turned to the girl. "I'm not sure about them, but I am." Jo said. The girl introduced herself as Amari, but said you could call her AJ. "My name's Josephina, but everybody just calls me Jo." She was a bit disappointed that this girl wasn't her roommate. She seemed friendly and Jo liked that about her.
