Elatha Fairos Stone

"A picture is worth a thousand words."

0 · 1,108 views · located in Oakhill OH

a character in “The Cousin”, as played by Vanillasugar41

Description

Name – Elatha Fairos Stone

Age – “Actually my birthday was last month!” 12

Role – *sarcasm* “I’m the little one.” Younger Sibling

Gender – “Trust me: I’m a girl.” Female

Appearance - Image

Personality

Personality – Elatha is somewhat the opposite of her sister. She is quiet and nice, and may go out of her way to be friendly to someone even if at first she seems very shy. Her heart is kind and comforting to those around, regardless of circumstances. Being very open minded, Elatha would be glad to try something new and fun (with precaution of course) and is very open minded, rarely hesitating with something new. She would prefer to dress comfortable instead of flashy and frankly Elatha tries to avoid the spotlight, unless the attention is totally necessary. She loves to draw, but is very embarrassed about her art. You would be incredibly lucky if she showed you one of her pictures. Although on occasion, she’ll leave notes around with pictures on them like puzzles.

Image

Equipment

Weapons – “You’re going to give a little girl weapons? Smart move.” A pistol with the safety on and an army style pocket knife. For Girl Scouts she took a knife and gun course so she knows how to use them.

History

Bio – Since she was little, Elatha has always wanted to be like her big sister, that is, until she saw what her sister was like. She decided that a life of attention and pleasure was definitely not her thing and instead made her own path. She picked up drawing and has loved it ever since, aspiring to be a great artist and illustrate her own book one day.

Elatha sat, completely and ridiculously bored out of her mind. Her chin was in her hand and her eyes were trained at anything remotely interesting out the window. She had been sitting like this for a few hours now as her mother drove the van. She and her sister babbled through the entire begining of the trip while Elatha munch chips (which caused her sister to go on a long rant about how gross potato chips were, as usual). Halfway through the drive, Elatha had a mirgrane and her hand hurt from her constant drawing, so instead she'd plugged in her headphones to tune them out and had been sitting like a weeping angel ever since.

Glancing at the surrounding area, Elatha thought she saw something watching the van drive by from a ledge, but they'd driven by so fast she hadn't been able to get a good loo at it. Quickly getting out her sketchbook, she began to draw a rough sketch of what she saw of the creature. As it took shape on the paper it appeared to be humanoid, but that was about all Elatha could see. Being so "in the Zone", so to speak, Elatha barely recognized the car stop and her mom chime, "Okay girls: we're here!"

Lucas woke up suddenly as he heard the van pull up. He sighed in relief as he realized it wasn't a shapeshifter who stole a car. He walked up to the van his gun slung over his his shoulder. "Hello auntie " he said in a childish vioce as he walked over to Brooklyn and raised an eyebrow at her stretching. He looked over at the woods and saw a few vampires who never liked his rules. He aimed his gun and shot off a few rounds as they scattered back. Lucas smirked and said under his breath " That'll keep ya " he smirked as he looked back at the van then opened the door to see Ethala. "Hey bud come on hurry up. " he said as he looked back at the woods. He would have to tell some of the elders about it but for now he has bigger fish to fry.

Elatha hopped out of the car, happy to be free once again after such a long trip. She tucked her drawing pad under her arm and watched with facination as her cousin fired off a few rounds, peering into the woods. Elatha of course saw nothing but thought it was cool none the less. "Wow, is that a real gun?" Elatha asked eagerly, then quickly added in, "Do you have an extra?" "Now now now Elatha, nothing like that." her mom cooed with exagerated affection mothers always had went referring to their kids infront of guests. Then she started motioning to the trunk and said happily, "Get your things and bring them inside. I'm sure cousin Lucas has your room empty and waiting for you." Elatha sighed, rolling her eyes a little bit and muttering, "Yes mother," before she went and opened the trunk. Lugging out her suitcase, Elatha hoisted her bag over her shoulders and dragged the suitcase up behind her, waiting for the word to go inside and drop it all once again in the room she'd be occupying here.

Lucas smirked at Ethala's question and nodded. "Yeah its real and ..." he waited till her mother turned her head and he whispered in her ear. "Ill get you one later I have plenty. " he looked up at the path back to town and sighed. " Brooklyn hurry up and get your bags then we can go up to the house we have a little walk to go but we wont get there unless you move. " he said as he smirked. He knew he would have to keep the residents calm around them butbhe would also have to tell them about the monsters oh how he dreaded that. He tried to ignore it as he waited for Brooklyn.

Brooklyn sighed and went to get her bags from the trunk, ignoring the gun shots. If he wants to act crazy, let him. Maybe if he seems insane, she can convince her mother to pick her up early. It wouldn't be an easy task normally, but if their mother thought they were in danger, she'd come get them. "Why are we going on a walk?" she asked, "If we need to get somewhere, we could just drive," she pointed out. Sure, she wasn't too excited about the idea of being in the car even longer, but she didn't want to get all sweaty, and her shoes were not good for walking.

Connor tried to think of a logical excuse for the reason why they couldn't use the car. " Well you two will be walking for about the rest of the summer if you want to go anywhere since the only car is my Jeep, two its a beautiful day outside, and three you don't want to scare the wildlife they aren't the friendliest and that's why I have this. " he said pointing to his gun. He didn't want to overwhelm them just more of which a little bit at a time. He turned to the path and started to walk. " You guys coming or what ? " he said as he looked back and smirked.

Elatha grabbed up her stuff and skipped up behind Lucas. Unlike her sister, Elatha loved the outdoors and the nature it held. When she was outside her drawing were so much more interesting and pretty than when she was indoors. "I'm coming!" she chimed, excited for the walk, but before saying, "Oh, wait, Mommy this is for you." Then she skipped over to her Mom who was already climbing into the car and handed her a peice of paper. "Aw, sweetie, this is so pretty!" she gushed, putting it on the dashboard. Elatha had drawn a very good picture of her and her sister Brooklyn, no color of course but it still seemed very real. "Bye Brookie baby! Bye Elly love! Both of you be good for your cousin Lucas~!" their mom called, waving before turning around and driving away, leaving the two girls with their cousin and their luggage. Elatha waved until the car was out of sight before turning and picking up her bags. "Okay," she said, looking up at Lucas, "Now I'm ready to go."

Lucas smiled at Elatha. "Good come on Brooklyn " he said as they started up down the path. He needed to keep the rouges he saw in the woods away from the girls. If he let either or worse both get killed he could never forgive himself. He knew that another threat would be the male succubi of the town. They would try their hardest to seduce the girls mostly Brooklyn and maybe some desperate for Elatha and eat their souls. He didn't want to think about it too much. " Oh and girls if you seen anyone in the forest please tell me. " he said smugly. He needed to get them warned up to get warmed up to the idea before he told them.

Elatha thought about it for a moment, her mind wandering back to the figure she'd seen and the picture she'd drawn in the likeness of the mysterious humanoid. But then she bit her lip, knowing her picture wasn't finished. She loathed showing someone an incomplete peice of art work more than she hated the nasty tea her mother always drank! So instead she said nothing and followed along behind Lucas, glancing at her sister. She had brought a lot of stuff and, will all due respect to her sister, Elatha couldn't fathom how her thin arms could hold it all. "Here," she muttered, grudgingly picking up one of Brooklyn's bags and carrying it, "I'll take something for you."

She smiled at her little sister, one of her close-mouthed ones that sometimes made people think that she thought she was better than them, and said, "Thanks," out of politeness. She picked up a couple of her bags, pulling one behind her. It might take another trip to get the rest in, even though she had packed light. Honestly, did people expect any less? It was the whole summer after all. Once she got in, she just set them next to the entryway, not knowing where else to put them. If someone has a problem with it, they can move them. She went back out and brought the last of her bags in. She considered changing shoes, as they were too high to walk a lot, but she decided not to. They looked too good to change. She went back out, where Lucas and Elatha were waiting.

Elatha rolled her eyes a little as her sister dropped her luggage by the door. She glanced at Lucas and mouthed 'sorry', jerking a thumb at her sister who had just walked out to get her other suitcases, almost falling because of her ridiculously high heels. Setting her sister's bag down, Elatha grabbed up her own stuff and looked at Lucas. "So that I don't just drop my stuff at your door," Elatha said, glancing at her sister's growing heap crap (in Ethala's personal opinion), "Would you please tell me which room is mine?" Really, her luggage didn't even bring to compare to her sister's. Elatha had a great big suitcase with all the clothes and things she would need, a satchel of tolietries and her most import thing: her duffle bag with the items that Elatha thought were either extremely important or nessassary. Stashed away inside was the envolvope of money her mom had given her for the summer. Brooklyn had one too, and had gloated about it (as to be expected) whereas Elatha had hidden it away with all her other personal valuables.

Lucas rolled his eyes as the girls brought their bags inside. He didn't need nearly as much as either of them but he didn't haven much a say. "Okay your room is upstairs to the right Brookyln yours is left. Okay heres ny rules wake time is five thirty, and sleep is anytime from eleven to one. Do not go anywhere without me and don't talk to anyone without me. " he went inside and lifted a small painting and pulled out a sawed off shotgun. "If someone comes to the door grab this before opening. " He put it back and looked at the sisters "In about an hour I have to go to ask for permission on, a problem you too should come it will give you some time to get used to this slice of heaven. " he smirked as he walked to the down stairwell. "Oh and do not go into the basement. " he said as he walked down to the futuristic lab slash gun locker and exchanged his shotgun for a sniper rifle. He checked the radar and found the rogues were running about. He typed commands in trying to get them into his handheld.

Brooklyn listened to the rules, rolling her eyes at the stupid ones, which there were a lot of. Waking up at five thirty? Not going anywhere without him? She decided not to listen. It's not like he'll drag her out of bed in the morning, or follow them around constantly to make sure they don't go out. She also decided not to listen to the gun thing. It's not like it'll do any good, unless it was to scare people. She doesn't know how to shoot one. She sighed and grabbed a couple of her bags, heading to her room.

Elatha listened to Lucas' rules diligently and made a little list of them all in her head. Wake up at 5:30, go to bed at eleven (or later). that was fine: Elatha liked getting up early and staying up late, mostly because her sister always wanted her so-called "beauty sleep" and never wanted to come home from a party she'd attended, letting Elatha some of the day without her model sister. Interestingly enough one needed to get a gun to answer the door and the basement was off-limits. She made a mental note to inqure about the basement later, but for now she was more concered with getting her stuff to her room and getting set up. Dragging it all upstairs she quickly turned right and closed and locked the door behind her. Glancing around, Elatha saw that the room was very nice. A single bed against the wall with a night stand, a little desk beside a short chest-of-drawers and a closet with a mirror on the door. With a sadisfied nod, Elatha began unpacking, dropping the luggage on the bed. Clothes she hung up in the closet; undergarments, socks and the like went into the drawers and a separet drawer was reserved for toiletries. All in the way her sister had taught her when they were younger. Elatha sighed, putting all her important drawing things on the desk, thinking about how well she and her sister used to get along before Brooklyn got snobby and Elatha got wise. Since then they had just... grown apart. Shaking her head to clear it of those whimsical thoughts, Elatha continued setting up and putting away her things. She set her alarm for 5:00 on the dot, so she could get up and use the bathroom before her sister got in there. Elatha knew better than anyone how long Brooklyn could take in the bathroom, mostly because back at home they had been forced to share one. Elatha shuttered involuntarally.

Lucas had finished putting the signals in his radar. He slipped it in his pocket then grabbed two revolvers. He put them on the table as he grabbed his Bō staff and slung it across his back forming an X. He grabbed a Scar-L then headed out after grabbing the revolvers. He walked upstairs and slipped a revolver under each door. "Girls bring this one with you. " he said then walked back downstairs and walked outside. He started up his Jeep. He knw this would be a manhunt and this was probably the best way to show then what this town was about. He wiped the leaves off the seat from where the top was down permanently. He turned the key and the engine started groggily. "Dammit " he shouted and opened the hood and started to inspect the machinery. He knew an average bit about cars but he wasn't the fastest either. He moved around a few pieces and got to where it worked swimmingly. He shut the hood happy as he dusted his hands off and shouted at the house "Hurry up we gotta get going. " he said as he jumped in and checked the ammo he had on hand.

Elatha had just finished unpacking when she heard Lucas' voice; "Girls bring this one with you." and a scratching sound from her door. Peering over her shoulder her eyes widdened in excitement at the sight of the gun he had slid under her door. "Wicked awesome!" she cheered, picking it up and looking it over. It was a six shot automatic revolver with a silencer and Elatha mentally thanked her cousin Lucas, whos voice she heard call; "Hurry up we gotta get going." "I'm coming!" Elatha called back, grabbing her notepad and pencil bag, tucking them into her purse along with the gun, her knife and a small amount of money incase they stopped by a convienient store while they were away. Closing her purse and connecting the two metal bits that held it together, Elatha darted out of her room, slamming the door behind her, sprinting to the car. She leapt into the front seat, "I call shot gun!" On the rare occasion Elatha was first to the car, she always called shot gun, otherwise her sister would shove her out of it. With a witness, Elatha was home free, and Lucas got to play that role. "So where are we going?" she asked, looking at her armed cousin and raising an eyebrow. "A battlefield?"

Brooklyn sighed. What was it now? Was he going to give even more stupid rules? When he sister called shotgun, she groaned. "But you're smaller. You fit more comfortably in the back seat," she pointed out. Brooklyn was 5'10, and needless to say, her sister was much shorter. She was about to ask where they were going when her sister beat her to it. She glanced at the guns the other two were carrying. She was guessing it wasn't a mall or anything fun like that.

Lucas smirked a bit as Elatha asked if they were going to a battlefield. "Well not technically. " he said as Brooklyn came out and wanted Elatha into the backseat. Lucas shook his head. "Nope she got here first and she brought her gun miissy where's yours ? " he smirkes and he hopped in and pulled a five-seven out of the glove box and put it in the backseat. "Backseat and keep hold of this gun got it? " he said happily as he pulled out a clip and loaded his RSASS. He took pride in it and always wanted it handy. He cracked his knuckles and grabbed the wheel. "Hurry up I want to get home before dinner. " he laughed as he looked at the sun in the center of the sky.

Elatha was extremely excited. She could tell that this was going to be the most wicked summer ever- just by the first day! I mean, how often does a girl come out to the middle of seemingly nowhere to spend her summer, see a creepy shadow creature thingy on the drive up and get handed a real gun the moment her mom leaves? Again: the most wicked summer ever. "What are we going to go do?" she asked, wondering what activity would require this much artilery and watching as Lucas cocked and loaded his own personal sniper rifle. In addition to asking what she deal was with the basement, Elatha also made a metal note to ask if she could get her own scope-gun.

Why is she insisting they carry so many guns? They're just going into town. It'll just make her bag weigh more, and her shoulder will hurt from carrying her bag. Plus, even if by some crazy chance she actually does need it, she can't shoot it. But she wasn't going to admit that. She had very few flaws, if any, and being stupid wasn't one of them. She didn't need anyone thinking that she was. She just never saw the point in learning how to shoot a gun. She went back to the house, and picked up the stupid gun before putting it in her purse and going back out to the car.
