Following the lives of the students at Crossroads Academy

Introduction

Crossroads Academy

Image
Crossroads Academy is an esteemed private K-12 school, located in Manhattan Beach, California, and serving students in the Los Angeles area. The school consists of three separate campuses for the lower school (grades K-5), middle school (grades 6-8) and upper school (grades 9-12). For students in grades 9-12, the school doubles as a boarding and day school, with about fifty of its students living on campus, and the other fifty percent commuting to the school daily. With an annual tuition fee of nearly $40,000 (without even including boarding fees!), it is no surprise that the school attracts many families from the neighboring wealthy communities, such as Beverly Hills, and other elite communities across the country and world. While it is certainly easier to get into the school with the right connections, and the ability to afford such a large tuition bill, the school does offer scholarships to students who display extraordinary talents in fields such as athletics, the arts, and academics.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Our story is going to focus on the 12th grade boarding students attending Crossroads Academy. Like any high school, Crossroads is filled with the expected drama and romance, and although it is a boarding school, it's not necessarily as structured and strict as one would imagine. A major goal at Crossroads is to prepare its students, especially those in the upper school, for college and the outside world. Therefore, they're given a decent amount of freedom, provided that their parents sign off on all of the necessary forms and paperwork. Students are allowed to bring cars onto campus, like in gorgeous dorms that are pretty much apartments, have an ten o'clock campus curfew on the weekdays, and may sign themselves out of campus for the entire weekend, if they'd like.

OOC/Rules
Image
-Hi! Thanks for checking out my roleplay! After reading that short plot, you'll probably get the hint that this is going to be a pretty open-ended roleplay. There isn't a strict plot (although we will be following certain schedules/event timelines), and most of the drama here will be character created and driven. Therefore, I'm looking for writers who can be dedicated and write posts that are long/detailed enough to add to the story!

-Touching upon the above, if you aren't going to be able to post at least three times a week, please do not join. I know life gets crazy for all of this, but I want this to last, and creating a character only to disappear won't be tolerated. To reserve a character, post the face claim that you would like to use in the OOC. Please finish all characters within 5 days.

-I'm not going to be strict with face claims, and I don't mind if you use ones that are considered to be overused. All that I ask is that you make an attempt to make a character that looks like it could be a 17-18 year old. Please, don't try to pin a 30-40 year old as a high school senior.

-Character relationships are going to be an important part of this roleplay, so once your character is accepted, please start messaging other accepted people to work out relationships. We will have a specific thread for that, but creating solid relationships is key here! Drama and depth are more than welcome :).

-Please be original and unique with your characters. As stated, not every character here will be wealthy. Scholarship students will help to diversify the school and plot, so please spare us from making 20 rich, snobby, "I'm better than you" kids. I'm cool with opening up more spaces in each clique, depending on interest, but I'd like to keep each group semi-equal in numbers. Additionally, since we had problems with this last time around, no matter who your character is, they won't be exempt from school rules. I don't care if their father is the richest person in America - they'll still be subject to the same standards and rules as any other student.

Characters

As characters are accepted, they will be added here. Please note that all characters will fall under one of the three social tiers (A-list, B-list, C-list), and that you must specify the tier and group in your profile.

A-list students may fall into one of the following cliques: Royals (think of them as the ones who rule the school, even though they aren't officially the class presidents), and then right beneath them, Preps, and Jocks. The B-list students are typically Thespians, Artists, Wannabes and Hispters. They aren't outcasted by their peers, and generally have strong friend groups, but put more time and energy into specific talents and interests than in socializing as a whole. The C-list students are typically Nerds, Emos, Rebels, Outcasts, and "others", all of whom seem to have been rejected, or seen as "less than equal" to the A and B-listers.

Remember, originality is applauded here! Try to make characters of different cliques. I'm going to set up the boarding situation so that characters are boarding with characters in different cliques, to make sure that everyone is interacting anyway!

As for a character sheet, please feel free to make your own, as fancy as you would like. Especially if I have never written with you before and don't know how you write, please do your best to make your profile detailed so I can see that you can write well :). If you don't put much down, please don't be offended if I ask you for more. All that I ask is that you include the following:

Name
Nicknames
Age (16-18 -- all high school seniors)
Sexuality
Hometown
Personality
History
Clique

Toggle Rules

The GM of this roleplay hasn't created any rules! You can do whatever you like!

Okay, but what Charlotte didn't know was that Michaela had no problem with being at her mercy. Nope, none at all and she probably should have a problem with it, but the images Charlotte's flirting conjured up in her head were indecent enough to make even Mickey keep her mouth closed. Which was a difficult process, mind you, when you had a Charlotte Arnault sliding a finger under your chin as if she had every right to do so. And it probably was a good thing that she did because Mickey was pretty sure her jaw would have dropped if Charlotte hadn't taken that action. It was bad enough that she genuinely found herself blushing, which wasn't a rare sight seeing how Michaela's complexion left it than Jazmyn's to see when she was doing so, but that didnd't make her feel any better. Luckily, there was pudding to aid in suppressing the shiver that ran up her spine and Mickey painted on a grin behind the spoonful she shoved into her mouth when Jazmyn's voice cut in. For only a split second, she had forgotten that they were in Jazmyn's room and flirting with one of her best friends so obviously was probably not the smartest thing to do for her sanity, especially since Charlotte indulged her carelessness enough to reciprocate. Then again, as she had always believed, there was something wrong with the self-preservation instincts Mickey should have had, like every other human in the world.

"Don't sound so jealous, schnookums," she piped up playfully. "I'll save some of my lovin' for you." It was a second later that she recognized Charlotte's proposition and Mickey tried playing at the most innocent expression she could think of, but it was a bit difficult to portray oneself as innocent when they were grinning so hard. Which Mickey was doing as she backed up towards the door. "Why, Miss Arnault, I would never sink to such low actions," she exclaimed dramatically with a bit of her Southern twang, leaning against the door frame. "I am a Southern belle and such a proposition makes me unclean." With that last flair, Michaela slipped out of the Jazmyn's suite but not without yelling over her shoulder, "And if anyone's smoking anything in my room, it'll be me. Better bring your ass if you want some." It hadn't been much of an easy feat. Michaela purchased a nice little bundle the other night and had rolled up a few in her leftover wraps last night. While Diamond had checked mostly all of Michaela's bags, the one thing she hadn't checked was Michaela's wallet where her little stash of pre-rolled sticks were just waiting to be used. The lighter had been hidden in her pencil box and since Diamond hadn't considered that to be a hiding spot for anything, Mickey had snuck everything she needed in the car and into her dorm. It wasn't the first time she had ever smoked in anything on campus. As much as rules were rules, at the end of the day, one had to take precaution. For instance, being in her bedroom without putting towels at the bottom of the door was a trap. That was like, asking for attention. However, the bathroom method was tried and true. Towels at the bottom of the door still aided in keeping the smoke from getting out, it wasn't unnatural for a group of female friends to be in the bathroom together (and god bless stereotypes to some degree!), and it was also the place where the switch could be flicked to air out the heat in the room along with a can of air freshener to alter the weed's scent. She probably shouldn't (and wasn't that the sum of her life right there) push the limits considering they were all just moving in, but it wasn't her fault that Charlotte brought it up. Considering her roll-ups, Mickey rifled through her text messages to see a conversation she had with a friend and decided to see if Amelia was on campus and wanted to take a hit too before the barbecue.

U here? Bout 2 smoke. U want?

Illiana made a quick escape, her mind running over possibilities of how to attack Nolan. She knew nothing about the man except his relation to one of her old roommates, so she was running on only her imagination and creativity. Though there was a saying: β€˜creativity is Intelligence having fun.’

Illiana grinned. The man she was after was three times her size, and she had very little hope of taking him without using force. She was trained in several martial arts but, well she didn’t want to start off school in detention. She sighed and decided her last resort was to lean on her old friend Charlotte. She pulled out her phone and started typing:

To: Charlotte
RE: Hey girl,
Long time no talk. How’s life? How’s your cray cray sister? Speaking of siblings….Between you and me I got your brother to assassinate and I was hoping you’d be down to give me the scoop on how best to attack. Lol. Even if not, we should hook up and hang out, we need to catch up!
She hit send and started walking towards her dorm. With any luck she would be down to hang out, or if not she would give her an idea on how to proceed.

It didn’t take Illiana long to get to her dorm, once there she flopped down on her bed with a sigh. Good lord did she need a break….but she had to unpack still. She pulled out one of the bags and started unpacking things that she would need within the next few days. She smiled as she pulled out a picture of Ian and her. It was fairly recent; Illy was on Ian’s back laughing. They had gone out on Halloween as Batman and Robin, and had the time of their lives just hanging out and ding dong ditching….Okay she had ding dong ditched and he had been dragged along. She giggled at the memory and set the photo up. There where so many photos and they were all of Ian and her.

Illy turned on Pandora and the first song that came on was one of her favorites. Sex Metal Barbie by In This Moment.

β€œExcuse me can you tell me what you've heard about my life
Maybe a dirty little fairy tale, a girl of the night
I heard that I grew up filthy, a trailer park queen
Drop out pregnant statistical teen
I know you heard about the bloody knife
About my daddy's perfect virgin and my mother's wife
You know I heard I don't belong in this game
Still you hold your hands in the air screaming my name
Let's go
Baby go ahead
I'll be your hatred and your pain
This is killing us all
I don't care if I fall
We're the dying, we are the damned”
She sang along as she unpacked her stuff starting with her clothes, then her books, and finally the rest of her pictures as she waited for a text back from Charlotte.

Victoria laughed at Juliette's suggestion for how she could get Emmett out. It was sad in a way, and wrong too, that Victoria knew Emmett had a crush on her, and allowed it to still exist. Obviously, she wasn't Cupid, and she couldn't magically zap the crush away, but she definitely could have done more to show him that they were better as friends, and would remain that way forever... and she hadn't. She loved Emmett in a friend kind of way, she really did, so she wasn't completely taking advantage of him to a point where their relationship was merely existent for her own benefit, but there was certainly a part of Victoria that got a thrill out of knowing that someone was devoted to her. "I guess we could try that, but your brother's telling me that Emmett has me, so if I get knocked out of this game right away, trying to do you a favor, then you're really going to owe me one, Jules." Her texts to Emmett, warning him that he wasn't allowed to get her out right away had already been sent, so she felt secure enough to agree with at least attempting to help lure Emmett in, for Juliette's benefit. If nothing else, she was glad that her best friend seemed excited to play the game this year. In years past, it had always been hit or miss. Holly had always been a good resident adviser, and knew how to get the kids involved in a way that wasn't too cheesy, but still... especially in their younger years, that need to seem "cool and uninterested" was still strong, and the games made Tori feel babyish. By now, she was secure in believing that her influence was strong enough that the entire A-list crowd would play if she did, so she wasn't worrying about that. And though she wasn't planning on playing to win, if she made it that far, she would put the effort in.

Illiana walked into the suite then, and though in her defense, she did seem to be in her own little world, Victoria took offense to the girl walking straight into her bedroom without even greeting them. She wasn't expecting Illiana to curtsy in her presence, as if she were a real Queen or something, but a simple "hello" would have been nice. Victoria was petty enough to decide that if the other girl wasn't going to say hello, than neither was she, even if Illiana's part in it truly had been as innocent as her just not noticing the other two girls sitting in the common area of their room. "We should head down there now, anyway," Victoria decided, matter-of-factly. "I'm hungry, and Taylor and the other girls are already waiting for us at a table down there." She didn't really need to bring her bag, given that all she needed was her phone, so once she was up from the couch, she only headed into her bedroom for a moment to fetch a stack of pink Post-It notes from her desk. She pulled off a small stack of them for herself, and handed an equal amount for Juliette. "Just to be safe," she said. "And if anyone lunges at you, just pretend to lunge back at them and make them think that you have them too. I guess I'm safe enough knowing that Emmett has me, but watch my back just in case, kay?" she said, already starting towards the dorm room's front door.

Perfect. Charlotte didn't really think that Michaela would play the innocent card for too long, but she was relieved nonetheless, when the girl dropped the facade and made it clear that Charlotte wasn't going to have to smoke alone. Even with the recent tension between herself and Jazmyn, she would have wanted the girl to join in too, but then again, one less person meant all the more for her. "That's my cue," she said, a purposely playful wink being sent in Jazmyn's direction. "Time for me to get into my zen zone while you hang out out here, being the stick in the mud that we all know you really are." She took a few steps out of the room, before popping her bed back in the doorway. "And I guess I have to stress now that I'm joking when I say things like that, so don't go off and do meth to prove me wrong." A pillow came whizzing in her direction, but Charlotte escaped from the doorway before it hit her, and headed into Michaela's room at a few paces faster than she normally would have. Before she reached the girl's bedroom, her phone pinged with a text from Illiana.

Although she was rooming with Illiana again this year, she hadn't seen the girl when she had initially moved in. She assumed that the other girl simply hadn't arrived when she had brought her stuff up with Nolan, but given her text now, it was clear that she was on campus. Out of her three roommates, Victoria, Amelia and Illiana, Amelia was definitely the one that Charlotte knew best, but she also didn't feel uncomfortable living with Illiana. She had done it before and it had been as easy as one could have asked for, so she wasn't bothered with her set of roommates this year, really. Even Victoria Hearst, whose ego needed to be popped like a balloon (and would even then, still be too big), wasn't someone who Charlotte thought would be a problem. She would agree with Juliette that it seemed like someone was working against them by sticking each of the twins with the other's friends, but Charlotte surely had no reason to make as much of a big deal out of it as Juliette had. Her time would be divided between her friends' rooms and her own bedroom, so she wasn't worried about any conflicts with her roommates, since she doubted she would interact with them very often. However reserved she was when it came to friendships, she did smile, just slightly, at Illiana's text message. For a second, she wondered if this was one of those instances where she should put family first and warn Nolan, but it only took another second for her to throw that consideration out the window and send the girl a message in response.

To: Illiana
Hey! I guess we're rooming again this year. Oooh, Nolan's a tough one. He lives for competition like this Image. I'm totally down to help you set him up though. I can lie and tell him that you're about to leave campus for some reason, and that I left my key in our dorm and you have it but that I need him to take it from you before you leave since I'm busy helping that crazy sister of mine with something, if that makes sense. I'm sure he'll fall for it. We can do it whenever you get down to the barbecue if you want

Upon entering Michaela's bedroom, Charlotte sat down on the girl's bed, making herself comfortable. "So... I know I'm a vibe killer, but before we do this, you and Jaz are sharing a bathroom, right? As you can tell, I already have enough problems with my sister. Don't need her complaining to me about my gross stoner friends," she said, sporting a playful smirk. "Speaking of my gross friends, though, I haven't heard from the others. Amelia, Natalya? Where is everyone?" Charlotte wasn't as close to any of the other rebels as she was to Michaela and Jazmyn, but they were still in the same friend group, so she was curious about where the rest of their group, including Amelia and Nat, were.

Illiana sighed as she waitied, somewhat impatiently, for her old friend Charlotte to text back. She took a moment to rest on her bed, her mind wandering to her current best friend. She gazed at one of the pictures of them together, his mom had caught them off guard at age 15. Ian was playing Kingdom Hearts, and she dozed sleepily with her head on his leg. They had been playing a marathon of games that night and she had slowly but surly slid into a comfotable posion then slipped into a sleepy daze. She looke like an idiot but, he looked…like a determined dork. Her determined dork.

Her phone vibrated jolting her out of her thoughts.

To: Illiana

Charlotte responded back, she grinned and shook her head. She was willing to sneak attack if that’s what it took.

To: Charlotte
Sounds perfect. Can’t wait to room together again. Thank god I didn’t get stuck with a crazy. What are you up to right now?

She texted back then rolled out of her bed. Time to change to something more comfortable and hunt down her best friend. She slipped into a pair of jean short shorts, a white tank, and a pair of black converse, before she braided her hair down her back and headed towards the boy’s dorm. Once there, she tapped lightly on the door twice before entering.

β€œHey, naked or not I’m coming in!” she warned before she spotted her best friend and practically tackled him.

Ian let out a sigh as he finally finished unpacking. Despite being fastidious about his appearance and his near compulsive organization when it came to school work and his hobbies, even he found packing and unpacking his things a pain. Still, the end result was almost worth it. His dorm was filled with his favorite things: stacks upon stacks of manga and comic books (including his collector's edition of Watchmen that Illiana had spilled something over), a flat screen TV with a PS4 connected to it, a shelf filled with books, and, of course, photos. Illy never seemed to tire of taking photos of pretty much everything and his mom had picked it up from her. He eyed one she took of the one she took when they entered a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament when they were 10, him giving the camera a shit-eating grin as he revealed he had all five Exodia cards in his hand.

Things were a lot simpler when they were younger. There was none of that worrying about college or strange feelings or what the future might bring.

Deciding to change into a a new outfit, he opened up and his closet and took laid out new pair of jeans and a t-shirt along with a vest. As he pulled new pair of jeans on after stripping his old, sweaty clothes off, he heard a knock on the door.

β€œHey, naked or not I’m coming in!”

Shit!

"Wait, Ill-," he began, but before he could protest, his best friend already knocked him down on his bed and he blushed bright red. He was very much aware that he did not have a shirt on and and the thin white cloth that was her tank top and shorts that drove him crazy at the best of times.

"I'm half-naked," he murmured, trying desperately not to let his eyes roam over her or to take note of the feeling of her on top of him.

Damn it, she drive me nuts. The hyperactive goofball.

Illiana was shocked to silence when she realized that her joking comment about him being naked might be true. Her reaction time was like that of a dead cat, and so she fell fully on top of him. She giggled as she watched his face burn like a sunset. The amount of amusement she got from it was amazing…that is until the realization that he was shirtless and she was very inappropriately placed on top of him. She felt heat creep up her own face and she froze.

Her face was inches from his, her breath feathered across his lips, and she felt a tingle in her tummy that she didn’t quite understand. She had the sudden and completely unsuitable urge to press her lips against his. She knew it wasn’t right, and yet she was so tempted to do so that she felt her eyes lock with his and in them questions arose: Is this okay? Will it ruin everything?
Seconds before she could take the final leap her phone rang, this time the ringtone was for her mom, the kill bill theme song. She scrambled off of Ian and pulled the phone out of her pocket.

β€œCenna what’s up?” She asked immediately, as her mom never called her unless something was wrong. She listened intently for about 60 seconds before she rolled her eyes in frustration.

β€œNo I don’t know where you put the can opener….I don’t know when I’m coming home for dinner. zhenshchina, kotoruyu ty svodish' menya s uma! Yes I know I promise to visit….I will visit as soon as I can. Mom its day one…I literally just unpacked. Yes….yes…I know…okay…good lord….yes. okay. I love you too.” She said with another exaggerated eye roll.
Iliana kept her back turned to Ian so that he couldn’t see her face was still warm. She hoped she could play off the whole situation. They had grown up together, and this wasn’t as though this was the first time either of them had seen each-other naked. Granted they where younger then…and he had grown up. Good lord he had grown up. She shook her head and groaned internally. Bad thoughts. Shame. She let her eyes roam over his room, all the pictures of him and her together and tried to reinforce her thoughts of friendship with him.

β€œSo…uh…get dressed we are going out. I have a game plan for my target…” She said with a grin before she turned to face him.

β€œBy the by who did you get?” She asked as she picked up one of his action figures and examined it closely as if she had never seen it before though she had inspected it thousands of times.

She was so achingly close. He could feel his breath across his lips and he eyes seemed to shine as he looked up at her. They leaned in but before anything could happen, her phone went off and he suppressed a sigh. Whether it was one of relief or frustration, he honestly couldn't say. He couldn't help but laugh slightly at the phone call. It was typical of her mom.

β€œSo…uh…get dressed we are going out. I have a game plan for my target…”

"Oh, right. Of course," he said, grabbing his shirt and pulling it on. She chose not to talk about what happened and he was okay with it. Honestly, he wasn't sure what to say about it.

β€œBy the by who did you get?”

"Natalya... I don't really know her or where she is. Also, she looks like she can kick my ass," he noted with a shrug, "You got Nolan, right?"

By the time Charlotte had made it inside of Michaela's room, Mickey was already pulling out one of her folded, thick towels from the top shelf of her closet. The top shelf was used for storage like for the plastic casing her comforter came in, large trash bags, and towels and wash cloths along with a few extra toiletries. When the brunette was inside, Michaela had the towel draped over her left arm and turned to offer a silent raised eyebrow at Charlotte's initial question over the bathroom situation. While she could understand Charlotte's desire to acquiesce to Juliette and do whatever it took, as her sister, to make her comfortable so that Charlotte would not have to hear her mouth, Mickey had no such sensibilities. In fact, it probably still said something about her lack of self-preservation, not particularly caring about every action that she took, but she saw it as just not being in the mood. Could she possibly abstain from using both restrooms to keep Juliette Arnault from fumbling around with her red-faced anger/embarrassment? Quite possibly. Contrary to popular belief, Michaela actually did know how to believe in boundaries and adhere to them. At the same time, she also just didn't care.

"I guess," she drawled, voice ever-so-slightly lilting as she dragged out the pronunciation of the "e" in "guess." "I'm sure I can find some impossible way to resist the scintillating allure of the Arnault family charm...with the right distraction, of course." On that note, Mickey settled a rather flirtatious smile on Charlotte's sitting form, sauntering over to the brunette. While she probably should refrain from pushing a little hard in her flirtations in one day on her friend, Michaela wasn't impulsive for nothing. So, with barely a thought on stopping, Michaela continued with the rather suggestive smirk on her face, maintaining eye contact with Charlotte as she bent at her midsection and reached (and reaching around the girl was really unnecessary, but it was all about teasing with the infinitesimal space between them) around Charlotte to dig her hand under her mountain of pillows to find the pencil box she had kept purposefully in hiding beneath them. "Hmmm...what's wrong, Lottie," she asked lowly, voice just slightly (again, unnecessarily) breathy as her hand still searched, finger grazing the hard surface of the pencil box. "Not enough company for you?" It was only a second later that the suggestiveness on her face morphed back into childish glee as Michaela giggled, a bit amused by her own antics, and she finally grabbed the pencil box she honestly could have had in her grasp seconds ago. A moment later, she was out of Charlotte's air and standing straight again, opening the pink box in her hands. "But in all honesty, I don't know. Knowing Lia, she's either higher than a kite in the middle of a shopping spree at the Beverly Hills Center Mall or nursing a hangover. Nat should be on campus, though." She stated the last part on a nonchalant shrug, setting down her small bowl to have her hands free. With one less thing in her hand and the box open, Michaela sent a text to Natalya.

"Of course, of course!" Juliette reassured Victoria, jumping up from the couch as she accepted the sticky notes from the girl and followed her out of the apartment. She would have had Tori's back regardless, but now that she was on board with helping her get Emmett out, she was even more willing to boast about the level of protection that she would offer. Just as quickly as Illiana had come in minutes before, she had left, so after exclaiming, "Ooh, I'm so excited!" with pure excitement that was oozing out of her, she dropped that energy for a quick second to say, "Even though you have to live with Illiana, I would still totally rather your rooming situation than mine. You're so lucky." Not even in her fresh good mood, could she completely forget about her own rooming dilemma, and especially not as they entered the hallway and she passed by her closed dorm room's door on the way to the elevator. Thankfully, it didn't take more than a few seconds for the elevator door to open up, and Juliette was quick to hit the "close door" button, just as a group of girls hurried towards them, one with a hand extended, as if she was asking them to hold the elevator for her. For one, Juliette wouldn't have held it normally, just because she recognized the group of girls as being C-Listers, with one being one of the girls who hadn't allowed her to cheat off of her science quiz the year before. Besides that, on a day like today where you couldn't even trust your closest friends, Juliette knew that it would have been purely stupid to allow strangers into the elevator with them.

With those skeptical thoughts on her mind, she decided to whip out her phone once they were traveling down to the first floor, to text her siblings. In a group chat with Nolan and Charlotte, she wrote, "Who do both of you have? And don't lie. Seriously." Though most of Juliette's demanding or otherwise bratty texts were typically ignored by her siblings, she was surprised that both of them answered by the time that the elevator let her and Victoria out on the first floor. Nolan had answered first with, "Tori, but if you tell her, you're just about dead to me Jules. Blood is thicker than water. Remember that.", in a manner that Juliette knew was probably only somewhat playful in a competitive manner. Charlotte answered next saying, "Michaela. Who do you have?" Although she was surprised by her siblings answers, she figured that both of them were being honest. At least Nolan was, she decided, given that it was harder to tell with Charlotte. Though their honesty deserved Juliette returning the courtesy of answering Charlotte's question and being upfront about who she had, Juliette didn't answer. She tucked her phone into her bag for two reasons, with the first being that now that she was out in the open again, she knew that she needed to pay better attention to her surroundings, and with the second being that she just didn't care enough to answer. "I really hope no one gets me out. I totally think I can win this year," she said as she headed out of the lobby with Victoria.

Maybe Charlotte was stupid for being taken by surprise by just how sexual Michaela could manage to turn even the most innocent of gestures into, but alas, she was. She hadn't expected her friend to reach over her in such a way that their skin was nearly touching, and in a way that left her trapped (in the best way possible) under her propped up body for what felt like an eternity, until she stood back up. All the while, even while Michaela made her suggestive comments, all that Charlotte could do was smile with her eyebrows raised. She hoped that it came off as being similar enough to an eye-roll reaction, as if she thought that Michaela was over the top and dramatic with her sensuality, and that it was amusing, really, but in reality, before her lips had turned upwards into a smile, her mouth had fallen agape for just a half a second, in actual surprise. Michaela was bold, and everyone knew that, but for some reason, this felt different. Charlotte had no reason to believe that it was Michaela acting different, but just on an internal level, she was confused with why she was reacting differently, in her head, to this side of Michaela. She wouldn't even let herself think it at this point, but why, oh why, was she actually enjoying what would normally warrant a middle finger in the air? Those feelings left her too busy thinking to worry about how her silence might be interpreted.

When Michaela was standing upright again, tinkering with the box in her hand, Charlotte only offered a silent nod in response to her comments on the other girls' whereabouts. While the comment that she made about Amelia might have been alarming to some people, it didn't even cause Charlotte to raise an eyebrow, given how realistic the assumption actually was. As the other girl turned to her phone for a short moment, so did Charlotte, but only to respond to her siblings' group chat. "Can't you put your phone down for two seconds and just focus on getting me high? I should be the one asking you why I'm not good enough company," Charlotte teased, only once her own phone was resting on the empty space on the bed beside her, though. She assumed that Michaela was just texting the girls that Charlotte had asked about, so her teasing didn't come from actual offense, but it did come, even just a little bit, out of that signature Arnault impatient-ness that she and her siblings all seemed to possess a little bit of. She and Nolan were far better than Juliette was, with it, but it wasn't impossible to see sometimes, that Charlotte was raised in a manner where she was usually given everything she wanted, whenever she wanted it, too. She was just better at sugar coating her demands than Juliette was. "And I guess I can just leave it out in the open now that I have you in this silly little game we're all playing, sooo I'm pretty sure that I deserve the first hit for having self-restraint and not drilling a post-it note onto your forehead right now." She had actually been on the verge of saying that she deserved the first hit for having self-restraint and not wrestling Michaela to the bed to drill the post-it note to her, but given whatever it was that she had felt moments ago when she had been so close to the obnoxiously flirty girl, she felt like if she said that out loud, it would come out with a sexual undertone of her own, that she wasn't sure she would be able to filter out.

As Natalya shut her door behind her she tossed her helmet and purse onto her bed and collapsed next to them with a huff. Staring at her ceiling Natalya realized that she had yet to speak to Amelia since she had arrived in California. Pulling out her phone she clicked over to her messenger app and was about to type out a text to Amelia when her phone chimed and Jax's message popped up on her screen. Clicking over to it Natalya read it over and then started typing out a response only for her phone to chime again. "Well aren't I popular..." Natalya muttered to herself as she saw the text was from the queen bee herself.

To: Jaxy
Jax no one is going to be coming over to my house after the first day of school. My friends only come over on the weekends so you can just walk in the from door. Make sure you're nice to Sophia if you get there before me, she's the housekeeper.

To: My Bitch
Lia wtf you at? I haven't heard from you at all since I got back. Bout to go smoke with Mickey and Lottie. What about you?

To: M&M
Fuck yeah, That's exactly what I need right now.

To: Queenie
Heh, yeah. If only for your sake I won't start anything. But if she decides to open her mouth and start something, I'll finish it.
Oh, by the way Seth and me have a kegger planned for Saturday. I'm sure he's already spread the word among the A-Listers but if not you and Julie can are invited. It's a pool party so bring a bathing suit.

Natalya shoved herself up after she sent the last text and then grabbed her purse. Looking around her room she let a small smile cross her features. She had been able to make the room quite personalized. Everything but the bed had been removed and Natalya had brought all her own things, including an entertainment system, amps, and decorations. Satisfied with observation of the room she walked out and headed out, shutting the door behind her. Just as she shut the door her phone chimed and she let out a huff. Pulling her phone back out she saw that Seth had responded and a wicked grin came onto her face.

To: Party Boy
Okay, guess I'm coming for you. Btw, you didn't answer my question. Is Sophia cooking or did you book the catering? Oh and I think Mickey might have a friend who can DJ for us. She has connections with the all the best of the local guys.

Natalya pressed send and then muted her phone, not wanting to have to listen to all the responses coming in. Looking around she realized that she didn't know what room Mickey and Charlotte were in and called out the first thing that popped into her head. "Marco!" Pausing Nat cocked her head to the side and listened for a response.

Lighter finally in her hand once the pink pencil box was on the desk and the towel to go at the foot of the door draped over an arm, Mickey was ready to set shit ablaze. She got a roll-up from her wallet and shimmied her hips so that the small container fell back into her pocket with ease. "Oh come on," Michaela faux-whined, ignoring Charlotte's not very serious complaint to make sure that her phone was on the desk. She didn't feel like digging it out once they started and in all honesty, now that it was away from her, she knew she wouldn't feel inclined to pick it up again until they decide to head down to the barbecue. "Don't you know you're my favorite?" She asked teasingly, thumb having to catch on the trigger of the lighter before the single flame came to life. For only a second, Michaela let it use up some of the fuel, watching the flame with an absentminded fascination, before bringing the end of the roll-up to the fire. It caught and before long, the stronger scent of burning marijuana swam up to her nostrils.

Michaela perked up in interest when Charlotte decided to admit to having Mickey as her target. Oh, really now, she thought to herself and raised an eyebrow at the Arnault, smirking lightly as she allowed the flame to die out on the lighter and then handed the stick to Charlotte. She allowed their fingers to brush, fleetingly, as she teased, "You say it like you don't already know I like it rough, babe." Giggling on a carefree wink at her friend, Michaela hurried to put everything back into their proper hiding places; the lighter went back into the pencil box that went back under the pillows, and her wallet and the remaining roll-ups were in her pocket hidden behind credit cards and old receipts. She had heard her phone go off a second prior, but before she could even unlock the screen, there was a knock and a familiar voice resounding. "Polo!" Mickey called enthusiastically and skipped over to the door, opening it up to exclaim, "The only roomie that I love!" loud enough so that Jazmyn could possibly hear from her vantage point. Quickly, though, Mickey pulled Natalya inside and closed the door behind her, locking it. "Remember, Arnault, puff, puff, pass. Always the rules." She had to say, as if Charlotte would ever forget, as she pressed the towel into the bottom of the door, setting it on the floor so that its thickness could absorb the scent before it reached outside.

"Those rules might apply to you common folk," Charlotte smirked, though her eyelids were batting in an innocent manner, "But you know my type are entitled to the puff, puff, puff, pass rule," she said, not even sure herself, what she exactly meant by the reference to her type, versus Michaela's. In part, she was probably alluding to how for the moment, she was the cat and Michaela was the mouse in this fun little game of Assassin, so she felt like she had the power to make up her own rules without opposition. Additionally, when she was around her friends, particularly when Jazmyn was around, Charlotte ensued her fair share of teasing about being more of a spoiled rich kid than she liked to admit. She didn't act in a manner that would allow one to perceive her as such, and at least compared to her sister, she was fairly humble and down to earth, but there were some mannerisms that she had that were just instilled in her because of her upbringing and privilege that were hard to break. She disliked when her friends teased her about it because she genuinely didn't believe that there was any truth in that, so sometimes, her way of combating it was to use those lines to her advantage, in an attempt to show them sarcastically, how they weren't true.

She inhaled her second hit while Michaela headed over to the door and before she could mentally attach the shout from outside of the room to Nat's face, the girl was being pulled into the room by Mickey. She exhaled a cloud of smoke before looking to Natalya and offering a smile accompanied by a "Hey, Nat," greeting. She allowed herself that third hit from the joint then, despite knowing that it was against all good stoner manners, before extending her arm with the joint in her hand, to whichever girl wanted to go at it next. When her hand became empty, she slid off of the edge of Makayla's bed and positioned herself on the floor, leaning back to rest some of her weight on one of her hands, while the other hand toyed with her bottom lip absentmindedly. "Who did you get in the game?" she asked the blonde, though her gaze quickly switched over to Michaela as her expression grew into a smile at the remembrance that she had her, and could spring on her at any moment's notice...at least once she got her hands on some post-it notes. "And what about you, my sweet little target?" she said, tilting her head with playful curiosity. "Who am I going to have to go after, after I take you out?"

Hell that was close, way closer to Ian than she had ever expected to get. What was she thinking? What if he got grossed out, or hated her because she was acting like some horny love sick school girl? She groaned internally and tried to forget the butterflies she had gotten from being so close to her friend.

"Hold that thought" Illiana said as she whipped out her phone and typed up a quick message.

To: Charlotte

Hey girl, you cool with Nat? Ian got her and I need to track her down without letting it on. By the by, you headed to the BBQ? Got a lot to catch up on... ;)

Illiana glanced at Ian with a grin.

"Natalya... I don't really know her or where she is. Also, she looks like she can kick my ass,You got Nolan, right?" Ian asked. Illiana's grin widened as she slung an arm around his shoulders and gave him a half assed side hug.

"Dont worry baby ill protect you from the big bad Natalya" She said with a laugh as she let go of him and stretched. The sun was hanging low in the sky, it had to be about time to go to the barbique.

"Time to get this party started, I need to hunt down Nolan and take him out of the game. Might piss the pretty boy off but...that's kinda my thing isn't it?" She said with a laugh as she linked her arm in his and tugged him toward the door.

"Anywho...I'm getting Hangry and you wouldnt like me when im hangry" She said with a laugh as she started towards where the BBQ was to be held.

Ian frowned slightly as he finished dressing. What exactly did he want to happen? For her to hear a love confession from someone she had known since she was six and make out and not necessarily in that order? He needed to get a hold of himself.

"Dont worry baby ill protect you from the big bad Natalya"

He had to laugh at that even as she gave him a lazy hug. She was such a dork sometimes, not that he was one to talk. He grinned at her.

"My hero."

"Time to get this party started, I need to hunt down Nolan and take him out of the game. Might piss the pretty boy off but...that's kinda my thing isn't it? Anywho...I'm getting Hangry and you wouldnt like me when im hangry"

"What we're going to ambush them at the barbeque? Somehow, I don't think the game is worth it. We're not really going to win anything are we?" he asked with a shrug. He didn't mind skipping the assassin thing unless, of course, whoever had him as a target attacked him. Not playing was one thing. Losing was quite another.

Mickey rolled her eyes at Charlotte's statement about smoking, rising back to her feet once the towel was in place and dusting off her hands as if she had done some actual work. Which she didn't, but she simply felt like performing the action. Turning back to the other two girls, Mickey was abraded by the smoke that was beginning to permeate the air of the closed in space, idly thinking about the shapes one could form with the smoke. She only truly did it once she was high or if they were at a hookah bar, or even at a party, but Mickey idly wondered if she could get away with not going to the barbecue in favor of simply munching on snacks and making shapes with smoke. As social as she could be, marijuana could actually be enough temptation to not be around people and get on their nerves, as others would say that she does. However, all it took was taking the joint from Charlotte - really, looking at Charlotte - and Michaela's mind was made up. She couldn't spoil her hunter's game, after all. It made her smirk before she took a pull, closing her eyes for just a moment as she took it all in.

When she opened her eyes again on what was supposed to be an exhalation of smoke, Michaela's throat decided to be the asshole that it was and noped out of that entire situation. Which resulted in her choking because - why? It was bad enough that in close quarters, Mickey could become faintly distracted by Charlotte's lips without her meddling with. It was annoying, really. There she could be, being a very good friend - a friend who was not pining after one of her best friends, no she was not. And then sure, they looked like she could bounce a quarter off those suckers and very bitable (was that even a word?), but she had composure. Grace, even, though she was pretty sure those frightfully knowing smirks shot her way from Jazmyn were a testament against her lack of grace. But then Charlotte has to go and mess with them her damn self as if she doesn't know that that's a distraction for the common folk? Or was it just Mickey? She couldn't tell because, well, she did just start choking and it felt like she was gonna cough up a lung if she didn't set it ablaze. "I'm good," she said at some point when she finally managed to pull it together and while, yes, Mickey surely did want that next puff for before she passed, she thought it was a sign from God that she had obviously taken her flirations too far earlier and that this was her punishment. Which she didn't feel too guilty for, but she wasn't gonna tell Charlotte how much of a tease she was. Mostly because she was pretty sure Charlotte wouldn't even know what she did that would be classified as teasing. Which meant Mickey had to explain and, there were reasons why she occasionally decided to nope the fuck out of things before her mind could fully wrap around them. So, she passed the joint right along to Natalya. Besides, it wasn't like she didn't have more.

"And don't get too cocky, Arnault," she stated once her throat didn't feel like it was on fire. Mickey threw herself on the bed, not bothering to explain what had just happened and hoping that the others followed with that. She wasn't going to answer anyway, but still. Catching on to body cues would assist in not being disappointed when she didn't open her mouth or changed the topic. She fell on the soft comforter and mesh of pillows and then used her left arm as a means to hold her head up, elbow lost but finding grounding amongst the pillows and her head resting on her upright hand. The rest of her body was laying on her left side quite comfortably, and she had to tuck one of the free twists behind her right ear to keep it out of her face. She turned to Charlotte a light smirk as she continued, "How do you know that I'm just gonna keel over for you?"

Nataya only had to wait a moment for a response to her call. "Polo!" Smiling the blonde walked towards the room that the call had come from, reaching it just as Mickey threw open the door. "The only roomie that I love!" Natalya rolled her eyes but smirked, raising an eyebrow as she was yanked into the room. "Hey, Nat." Looking over Natalya's eyes landed on Charlotte and a lazy smile replaced the smirk. "Hey Charlie." As Charlotte took a hit from the joint Mickey rushed to push a towel into the crack at the bottom of the door. Walking over to the bed, Natalya flopped down onto it a moment after Charlotte slid down and sat on the floor. Tossing her stuff aside Natalya let out a sigh before looking over, watching as Mickey took the joint from the Arnault. "Who did you get in the game?" Natalya chuckled and a wicked gleam entered her eyes. "I got Seth, poor party boy. He doesn't know what he's in for." As she spoke Natalya paused to lick the wound on her lip, making the second statement seem way more sexual then it was. "And what about you, my sweet little target? Who am I going to have to go after, after I take you out?" Hearing that Charlotte's target was Mickey made Natalya perk up with intrest. Turning to look at the other two, Natalya burst out laughing when Mickey choked. A few moments passed as Mickey fought to get her breathing under control. "You know, it might only be weed but you can't breath it Mick." Natalya couldn't tell if her friend was just ignoring her or hadn't heard her over the sound of her own coughing but after announcing she had recovered she passed the joint over.

Taking a hit Natalya smiled, Mickey always managed to find good weed. Maybe it was just her connections that allowed her to track down the best but it still was something Natalya could appreciate. Getting up off the bed Natalya went to where she had dropped her purse as she had walked in. "And don't get too cocky, Arnault, How do you know that I'm just gonna keel over for you?" Mickey made the statement as she got comfortable and right then Natalya tossed a half a pad of sticky notes into Charlotte's lap, smirking as she took her second hit. The fact that she had the sticky notes had been a coincidence and honestly giving ammo to a potential enemy wasn't the best idea but she was pretty sure the results would be worth it.

Charlotte didn't know Seth personally, so she only nodded thoughtfully when Natalya explained that she had him. He was good friends with her brother Nolan, and he and Juliette seemed to get along comfortably as well, but that was all that Charlotte knew him as - a friend of her siblings'. She figured that Natalya could have a samurai warrior and still somehow manage to get them out, so Charlotte didn't think that even the athletic boy could be too much of a challenge for her. She watched the joint move from Michaela to Natalya, doing her best to be patient to wait for her turn. She should have been used to the whole "passing the joint" routine by now, since her friends did it all too frequently, but there was nothing like sneaking off campus to her family's home on the weekend and lighting up her bong all by herself. Luckily for Charlotte, even being a fairly frequent smoker, she still had a pretty low tolerance to marijuana. While it was easy for her to get the high initially though, she did tend to lose it faster than other people. While a lot of people tended to remain in that zone for a couple of hours, it was more common for Charlotte to slip out of her high after forty-five minutes or an hour. She would take that, though, over having to smoke a lot of weed initially just to get the high.

When Michaela's coughing fit ended (which had only resulted in laughter from Charlotte), she watched the girl situate herself on the bed. "I don't need you to 'keel over' for me," she combated, smiling just enough that she had to bite her bottom lip to keep from laughing as she continued to respond teasingly. "I have all night, and considering how obsessed you are from me, I'm sure you'll be attached to my hip for long enough for me to catch you slipping." She raised the sticky notes that Natalya had just tossed to her and waved them in the air. "And when you let that guard down, all I'll need is a half a second to move on to my next kill, which you've still failed to tell me the name of." When she felt like all of eternity had passed, she raised both of her hands upwards, wiggling them in Nat's direction to signal that she was reaching for the joint that she felt like should have been passed to her eons ago - even if it was quite the exaggeration. "I only need like, two more hits and then the rest of this baby can be for the two of you. I'm already in my cheeseburgers and extra fries mood."

"My hero. What we're going to ambush them at the barbeque? Somehow, I don't think the game is worth it. We're not really going to win anything are we?" Ian asked with a shrug. Illiana grinned. She loved her friend. He was so cute when he was reluctant. She brushed her hair back and stretched.

"If i didn't know any better i'd say you want to keep me all for yourself" She said with a grin before she shrugged. She didn't have a good reason to go to the BBQ, or to want to play the game...maybe she wanted to expand her horizons.

"This year we cant just hide out and play dungeons and dragons. We need to explore and expand." Illiana said with a smile.

"Its not going to hurt you to spend some time with other people...you know people not as great as me." She said with a cheeky grin.

"Traitor," Michaela muttered the second the wad of sticky notes landed in Charlotte's lap and no, she was totally not pouting at Natalya for being the traitorous friend that she was. She had half the mind to think of a way to get Seth to skillfully hide from the other Rebel just for not be a good friend. Ungrateful heifer, she mentally sniped, though Mickey was only jesting both in real time and in her head. See if I do shit for her any time soon. Not that Mickey couldn't have just thrown herself off of her bed and run out of the room. It wasn't an impossible task. At the same time, other than the lure of free food at the barbecue, Michaela knew herself and she could be lazy. If it wasn't for the idea of sneaking up on Jax, which was all too thrilling despite the fear people outside of school seemed to already possess for the new guy, she honestly wouldn't care too much about the game. The image of being chased - the thrill of it - had aroused her curiosity and Charlotte admitting that Mickey was her target was enough for her to want to make this fun. To enjoy it.

"Oh, please! Me obsessed with you?" She had to ask incredulously, turning her attention back to the Arnault. "You, ma'am, couldn't be more in love with me if you tried. Why else are you so pressed that I have a big ol' target sign on my back, all for you?" She couldn't help but press teasingly, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively at the insinuation towards Charlotte having some sort of possessive thrill at being able to say Michaela was her target. Which was honestly wishful thinking on Mickey's part, but she was nowhere near going to verbalize that thought. She was not drunk, high or indisposed enough to ever utter those words. "'Sides, before you have your wicked way with me, I need to get my hands on my guy. Let me get him and then I'm all yours, baby." Mickey hadn't really plotted the how in her getting Jax, simply because banana pudding had been a very distracting item and a very vital part of her food group, which meant all attention (excitement towards "taming" Charlotte aside) had to be given to eating every last morsel. Now that the girls were thinking of their targets - with Charlotte dangerously close enough to just tag Mickey now if she really wanted - she couldn't help but think about what she was going to do.

A few moments later, when the joint was in Charlotte's grasp, Mickey turned her head to Natalya and grinned. "More importantly, where've you been all summer, Nat? I barely even saw you," she stated before gesturing towards Charlotte while saying, "This one stays in my back pocket, but I barely got to your pretty face, Tats."

When Charlotte didn't immediately leap at Mickey Natalya almost sighed in disappointment, the only thing stopping her being that she wasn't one to waste a hit. "Traitor" Natalya chuckled a bit and rolled her eyes. As Mickey and Charlotte teased and threatened each other some more Natalya searched one handed through her bag, looking up as Charlotte spoke. "I only need like, two more hits and then the rest of this baby can be for the two of you. I'm already in my cheeseburgers and extra fries mood." "Oh shit, sorry." Dropping her bag Natalya stepped over and placed the joint into her waiting hand before turning back and picking up her purse. "More importantly, where've you been all summer, Nat? I barely even saw you. This one stays in my back pocket, but I barely got to your pretty face, Tats." As Natalya searched through the purse, which was taking way too long considering it wasn't huge, she answered with a frown. "Oh , you know how it is. I went back to New York, spent a week with my dad, and then flew to Italy. Spent almost the whole break with them. Some really hot guys in Italy. Natalya looked up and smirked at Mickey, wiggling her eyebrows a bit. "And it definitely helps when your grandparents own a vineyard. I think all three guys I spent time with were over 22 years old. Anyways two weeks ago I flew back to New York, spent some more time with my dad and whatnot. I only just got back to California the day before yesterday."

Natalya smiled as her hand landed on what it was looking for and, standing, she tossed a bag into Mickey's lap. "Oh yeah, and I got you 3 ounces of weed from my New York guy. Really good shit. Half of it is a gift from a friend but the other half is payment for you using your connections to get me a good Dj for the party this weekend?" Natalya posed the last part as a question, even though the thousand dollars worth of weed in her friend's lap probably guaranteed that and a few other favors. While usually she wouldn't be so liberal with her own drugs, booking a good Dj in California on such short notice took a lot more than a a few grand when you didn't have connections. That and the fact that her Uncle had given her unlimited access to the weed that Viktor was moving as long as she sold just as much as she took for herself made her care a little less. "I'll pay the Dj of course I just need you to find someone willing to do it such short notice. And the entire Senior Class is coming, plus some, so they need to be good. I can count on you right?"

Once Charlotte took her final two hits, she returned the joint to Michaela, and was now on her feet for good. She easily could have stuck around for another couple of minutes to allow the other two girls to reach their optimal levels of high too, but she wasn't in the mood too. It wasn't that she was feeling uptight or not relaxed, because she was completely content and comfortable, but she was hungry, and she knew that if she remained in the room with the girls who were still smoking, she would just want to smoke more. Plus, with what was coming out of Michaela's mouth, she knew that, additionally, if she stuck around for much longer, she would say something that she would regret. And she wished that "regret" would come in the form of wishing that she hadn't said something mean or harsh, but it wouldn't have been that kind of regret. It would have been the kind that would have come from Charlotte admitting that maybe she wouldn't mind being in love with Michaela, or that since she liked her oh so much, that she would be compliant and let Michaela take out her target first, as she desired, before taking her out. "You have until I finish eating to find whoever your guy is before I come for you," Charlotte warned playfully, waving Natalya's post-it notes in the air.

"And you better be careful with that," she said, nodding towards the bag of weed Natalya had thrown to her. It wasn't that Charlotte didn't trust Nat, because they truly were friends, but she just thought... well, Natalya could be extreme at times. And not always in the good way. She seemed to think that she was immune from a lot of laws and rules, and just as Charlotte had learned, no amount of money would make you exempt from them in a lot of situations. Crossroads was one of those places where your parents couldn't buy your way out of trouble. If you committed an infraction, you would be expelled just as quickly as the scholarship student whose single mother worked the register at Burger King. Obviously, it would have been easier for all of the kids in the room right now, if the rules didn't work that way, but it was surprisingly nice to go to a school where money wasn't favored over morals. It was a good way to teach students to act in the real world, for when they graduated. "I wouldn't wanna be caught dead with that on this campus, and I may have shared a womb with her, but I refuse to accept responsibility for my sister getting your ass expelled because you're such a stoner," she said, still teasing (especially given how she was the one who initiated this whole smoking session), but knowing that there was more truth in the possibility of her words than she wanted to admit. Even taking Juliette out of the equation, Charlotte would have felt uneasy about carrying any amount of weed that legally would have surpassed the "personal use" quantity, especially on a school's grounds. She was a rebel, and she was reckless and carefree and destructive in many senses, but she was also intelligent, and maybe too sober to see any good coming out of Mickey holding on to that much weed. Given her sister's three roommates, Charlotte wouldn't have been surprised if Juliette got a second hand high on the regular, this year. "So don't let administration take you out before I can, kay?" she said, doing her best not to mess up the towel's placement the door too badly as she exited the room.

"Jazzy Jaz!" Charlotte sang once she was out of Michaela's bedroom. "I'm going down to eat. Come find me when you stop being a neurotic perfectionist about your room!" That description seemed like the only way to explain why Jazmyn would skip out on smoking, and though Charlotte had originally already been walking towards the main door of the dormitory as she said that, she stopped midway and did an about-face, as she turned into Juliette's bedroom. She only remained in her sister's room for a few seconds, just long enough to steal some of her perfume in an attempt to mask the odor of marijuana that was now on her, before finally leaving and heading down to the barbecue. She responded to Illiana's text on the way, saying, "Haha yeahhhh should be a fun year! I was actually just with Nat, but I'm heading to the barbecue on my own now. If you guys find me, come sit! I'm sure her and Mickey will sit down too when they come and he can try then!".

Michaela was the perfect picture of ultra relaxed as she listened to Natalya's spiel on her summer, giggling to herself in an almost childlike glee over the "hot guys" Nat said she had hooked up with, mostly because - like herself - Nat hung with a lot of older people. Hooked up with them, too. It was one of those things she and the other Rebel had in common, second to probably getting on a few professors' nerves. She couldn't really relate to the whole family owning vineyards and being able to travel wherever one wanted to go thing, though. As successful as both of her parents were to nab highly respected positions in the medical field, at the end of the day, what they made combined was literally chump change in comparison to Natalya, and well, the A-Listers and some of the B-Listers. Mickey knew for a fact that she was a lot more privileged than some of the other scholarship students she attended class with, especially considering the size of her house and the fact that for all her love for H&M and Icings', she could actually afford a few low level fashion brands that would be considered expensive to someone whose parents weren't top surgeons. Still, she was lucky if her parents managed to get them, or even her alone, tickets to return to New Orleans over the summer. So, most of the time, she actually was interested in what her richer friends did over the summer.

In that regard, Charlotte didn't count. For all of her father's success in the fashion industry, Charlotte didn't always talk about the long trips she took on a private jet or if she had decided to go out the country. It was common for her to go to France, occasionally, but it was never a thing in which Charlotte's wealth was always at the forefront of her mind. Natalya spoke about such spending with a casual disregard to the fact that not many that she hung with would have the luxury she just spoke on. Charlotte just didn't speak on it at all. It wasn't like it would hurt Mickey's feelings regardless since at the end of the day, her friends weren't exactly uppity bitches. But it was always something to notice, particularly when Natalya came back with goodies. Like weed. Weed made everything better.

"BIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTCCCCHHHH!!!!" Mickey exclaimed, sitting up almost immediately - more like scrambling, but whatever - to grasp the bag before Natalya could even consider take it back. "Ain't nothing but a word, pretty bird. Come to mama!" She'd have to hide the little bag - perhaps in something under her bag, she'd have to see - but Mickey felt nothing but gratefulness. For the bag and for the joint Charlotte finally turned her way. "Snitches get stitches," Mickey sang towards Charlotte when she brought up the possibility of Juliette snitching. She didn't mean it what with the carefree, rather unbothered lilt to her voice. Taking a drag of the joint in her hand, Mickey hurried on her feet and thinking quickly, nudged the edge of her mattress up so that she could shove the bag of weed under the mattress so that it rested on the springs. The mattress fell heavily on it, but with careful maneuvering of the blanket and sheets, it was as if nothing had been there at all. Mickey rolled her eyes at the door that Charlotte walked out of, walking over to it to straighten the towel just as a precaution. With the girl gone, she turned a complaint to Natalya.

"At least you got to actually get laid this summer," she bemoaned, taking another drag of the joint as she headed back to her bed, giving it to Natalya. It wouldn't take long to finish it and the way she was feeling now, it wouldn't be long for Mickey to get that nice stage of "everything is lovely" and "I just wanna fuck some shit up." Luckily, there was a game to play, a sweet little target to find, and a little chase to have with Charlotte. Which brought her back to her complaint. And if she sounded like she was whining, well, she deserved a chance to vent. "If my mama wasn't being Carla McCockblocker, I was being a really good best friend to Miss Charlotte Temptation Arnault. Seriously, why are all my friends hot, Nat? How am I supposed to control myself? I'm only human and I've been so good. I deserve a reward, damnit."
