Dwayne Staxon

"What's the point? Survival? It's totally irrelevant. We'll all be dead... eventually."

0 · 204 views · located in Large modern city called New Raven

a character in “The Damned”, as played by TheFlag

Description

Name: Dwayne Ikone Staxon Image

Nickname: "Clarence... yeah I like that. I am a bit of a guardian angel."

Age: 17

Race: Tyuman

Gangs:
~Todd Foxes
~Diamond Dogs

Appearance: Dwayne is fairly average on physical aspects, standing at the height of 5'10" and weighing around 173lbs. No fat seems to cling to his bones, as he appears relatively lean with a muscular build, which makes him look less robust but still capable. His skin tone is pale, but still has warmth circulating and often changes slightly depending on the temperature, but mostly it is pale and almost flawless, his skin however has a few blemishes mostly around his cheeks and shoulders, these are hardly noticeable however. Dwayne's hair is swooped backwards into and parts down the middle, with thick strands of completely black hair, which is soft and reflective. Dwayne's eyes are luminous, and fairly intimidating as they practically glow a icey blue, the pupils are also small, like beads.

Personality: Dwayne is fairly laid back guy and keeps an open mind, not caring what everyone else does unless it affects him directly, he has adopted a couldn't care less attitude and avoids conflict and people at all cost, preferring to be alone he could be described normadic moving from place to place. Dwayne however does enjoy company, but purposely deprives himself of it, trying to become independent on this aspect which he considers a weakness. Dwayne possesses a raiper wit, and a deep sarcastic streak making light on situations that would seem ludicrously stupid however he personally enjoys baiting others, seeing what makes them tick. Although Dwayne is naturally a cold person, he still feels and doesn't like watching others suffer, that said he wouldn't go out of his way to help someone without it benefiting him. Dwayne is most of the time though, reserved and quiet in conversation not speaking unless his words mean something, he also listens learning from others as idle chatter serves no purpose for him, although he does enjoy getting into a debate of some kind sometimes. Dwayne's moral status isn't in high regards, before this he didn't value anything besides his own enjoyment and this still hasn't changed, he'll do what he has to do to survive at all costs, no matter the effect: the words evil mean nothing to him, as in his mind there is no concept for it.

Abilities: Cell Magnification - Every cell in Dwayne's body has been magnified. Enhancing every single function in his body; his strength, reflexes, speed, durability, healing rate for example is practically superhuman his cells also live a lot longer, extending his life to an unknown extent. The only mental functions this affected however is his memory, and thought process allowing him to remember and comprehend everything he sees. His senses are also sharper but this can be used against him, as a extremely loud noise could render him unconscious or in agony.

Skills: Is exceptional in most grounds of Science, average skill in English and Mathematics, is a natural at running and climbing.

Brief History: Dwayne was born into a affluent family, and had a taste for the finer things in life as he was raised in such a way. Here he was privately educated and reared to be a natural, he progressed at a rapid speed, due to the manifestation of his mental abilities, because of this he was the pride of his family and they showed him off whenever they could, this led him to be resentful of them. When the virus struck however Dwayne was still a child, at the age of 11 as it reanimated the dead: the stress that had accumulated had forced the early manifestation of the rest of his abilities. He left his family to die although he almost hated them he still felt a deep guilt.

As he fled amongst the chaos, he found his way to a cabin in the middle of the woods, as he went inside he heard a low moan and something grabbed him from behind, it was one of the undead it took a chunk out of his shoulder, which is when he threw the man across the room. This is the realization which made Dwayne realize what he was. The cabin had plenty of supplies and Dwayne spent most of the time there, hunting occasionally and training himself for the occurrence that the undead find him.

So begins...

Dwayne looked down towards the small horde of undead which had gathered below, he let out a hesitant sigh he counted the numbers, about sixteen: he could take them all barehanded easily, after the all they were just rotting flesh. Dwayne however didn't want to run the risk, to him it's easier to avoid a fight rather then jump into one recklessly after all he had to deliver supplies to a Todd Fox Outpost easier said then done. He paused summing up his surroundings, he stood atop a white van in the deserted streets, he could see more of 'them' they were being drawn to him quickly. Dwayne hopped off the truck, landing just beyond the horde, one lunged at him with a shriek, which was silenced immediately by Dwayne ripping it cleanly in half, one however had jumped on his back, and was trying to pierce him skin, he simply grabbed it and threw it into the others which had gotten to close.

Dwayne then darted, fleeing the endless horde which would follow. Dwayne ran at a unnaturally quick speed, he continued to do so without tiring as he darted into a junction of alleys and pathways to eventually stopped altogether. He paused as he smelled the air he picked up the scent of two people or at least he thought he couldn't be precise, but he'd rather avoid meeting these people as they could be dangerous. He turned looking for a vantage point to scope out his surroundings, he briskly found a wall that he could scale, without hesitation he jumped up and began climbing to the top, barring the odd grunt of frustration he managed to reach the top, he twitched lightly before looking off a ledge, the two from before were a group of people equipped with small pistols and were guarding a door by a alleyway, he nodded calmly before he noticed a picture of a fox sprayed over the wall, a indication of a Todd Fox safe house he hoped at least.

Judging the height of the building, which was around 3 stories he could survive the fall easily. He leapt gracefully off the edge before landing jaggedly on the ground, dust flew up into the air as he smiled at his performance before clasping his hands brushing the dust off. His hand brushed past the wall as he purposely made himself known to the people, as he walked out revealing himself the people who were both males raised their guns defensively however, he looked up before nodding and pulling down his right sleeve revealing a armband with a fox embroidered onto it, they lowered their guns before sighing with relief, which helped Dwayne relax as he paused gather his thoughts.

Dwayne stepped inside before muttering incoherently "I hate being a courier." the others who had escorted him inside looked up and shared a smirk, as the one on the right gestured for the package obviously to examine the goods, Dwayne immediately pulled off his shoulder a satchel which he laid on the table in the middle of the room, the two guys were chatting in the background about something insignificant as Dwayne put all the goods on the table, mostly canned food and bottled water with the occasional treat.

The man on the left smiled before nodding his head and said "Thanks, we really needed its delivery. What was it like out there?" Dwayne's eyebrows arched before a subtle frown came to his face, "Well it's certainly not civilized. Haven't you been out there?" the man on the right nodded before replying "Few times, yeah... but not to long." Dwayne nodded before stating simply but somewhat coldly, "It's like something beautiful and dangerous. The beauty and freedom is amazing, but stay out there too long and you'll get hurt." the man nodded in response, the other had began setting up cards in the corner table, "Mind if I rest up here?" Dwayne spoke raggedly, he heard a grunt of confirmation and he sat slinging his empty satchel over his shoulder.

A few restless minutes passed, he shook his head in dismay, the two men had begun playing a card game in the corner. Dwayne shook his head in disapproval, "Some outpost." he muttered under his breath, wasn't well fortified, but as were the nature of the Todd Foxes they were the most humane gang, and Dwayne respected that: however the fact remained the only reason he joined was because of their supplies, not killing anyone was just a bonus.

Dwayne twitched slightly in his seat, he could hear growling from the outside the others couldn't hear it his ears however were superior, he heard it quite clearly. He pushed himself up walking over to the table picking up one of the guys 9mm pistol, he argued but Dwayne spoke coldly with a sense of intelligence "I can hear something outside the door. Now be quiet." he cocked the slide backwards, turned off the safety and checked the clip, there were no bullets but it'd be a good bluff, he took it for intimidation value. He opened the door slowly and saw a almost bizarre sight, a small girl near a dog a mongrel to be precise, advancing growling at a boy, Dwayne twisted his head before casually saying, "Nice weather we're having right?" he had his gun trained on them, his expression was a cold, business like look.

Dwayne's eyes caught the boy his glance, he was in thought as if examining him. Dwayne paused and a small smile broke the business like look, as his eyes in turn examined the boy, the boy shifted adjusting a collar around his neck before speaking "More so than that gun of yours at any rate-" the boy was interrupted by bursting into a dry cough he then continued, "which needless to say is far superior condition than my voice right now." Dwayne broke into a wider grin before chuckling, "Certainly seems that way doesn't it?" was Dwayne's eloquent reply as his head twisted away examining the others in the group.

Dwayne paused planning his next words carefully, he looked up and then spoke precisely "Now that..." he paused again looking for a word "pleasantries... are out of the way... woul-" his eyes quickly noticed the dog which seemed to have backed away as it began to change, his empty gun instantly focuses on it, his eyes focused also on the dog, which he noticed was changing shape... a shape-changer? he only knew of one which rolled with the Mayday Bandits, which apparently were allied with the Todd Foxes, he watched as she morphed back into human shape, he arched an eyebrow unsure of how to act.

Although he was unsure he had to do something, he coughed almost humorously "Now that... uh that surprise is out of the way, could you identify yourselves?" He kept his eye on the one that had changed shape, he wasn't completely sure on her allegiance but had a general idea. He puffed his shape out, trying to act unfazed but he was obviously surprise but he concealed it well.

"Well aren't you all qualified badasses?" he couldn't help but snort, Dwayne looked around a deep smirk had fallen over his face as he lowered his unloaded gun slightly, his eyes settled on the man sitting on the debris of some rubble, he couldn't help but chuckle "Three ways usually end badly. Plus this guy here looks like he hunts people for sport, I'm just saying." he shrugged his shoulders getting into a more defensive stance, his face regained a subtle but slightly intimidating posture as he examined the man and his revolver, he looked expirienced.

"Regardless of that however, have your fight, chat whatever... I'm not getting involved." and with that Dwayne backed in through the door, shutting it behind him, there was a loud creak, which was the sound of Dwayne bending the metal handle into the wall. It'd take a lot of strength almost superhuman which was funny, he walked back before looking at the two guys still playing cards, he laid his pistol on the desk and tipped an invisible hat, before laughing as he walked out the back entrance.

Dwayne continued to laugh as he exited the building but stopped, his sharp hearing picked up the girls plea, Dwayne stopped before shouting, "Yeah right, anyway I'm not giving you any food." he turned around, before once again smiling at the guys inside, "Fair well fine chaps," he said with forced, but sarcastic politeness "I'm sure we won't meet again." the men weren't to bright as they didn't catch the sarcasm in his voice and just waved him goodbye, this caused Dwayne to roll his eyes, if this was the best the Todd Foxes had to offer they wouldn't last much longer. Dwayne turned around opening the back door and heading through quietly, trying not to lure the undead. The scene outside the safe house would probably call every zombie in a miles radius and he had to be careful.

He'd have to head back to base now, the George Mall oh and how he loathed the place, it wasn't that hard to get to but the area was usually thick with undead, it was also overcrowded probably because of the juicy meals inside. As he continued his journey he saw that a fair amount of zombies had been lured over by the commotion, he thought about the other acquaintances he had made, he doubted they'd end up zombie chow, but it'd probably be a ringer, after all he did break the safe house door, and that was the only Todd Fox safe house he knew for miles.

As he continued marching he realized, his eyes came across a disturbing sight, two tyumans were fighting a horde of zombies, one was lizard like and had talons, and was just tearing into them, a female with scaly skin, the other was a male who was a mountain of muscle, he arched his eyes widely, they appeared to be Diamond Dogs, "Oh great..." Dwayne muttered with false enthusiasm, that was the most direct route to the George mall, he leaned back before putting his hands on his face, planning a quick and immediate tactic to deal with them.

"Best to avoid a fight." Dwayne muttered repeatedly, before rubbing his forehead as he hid behind the ruins of what appeared to be a car, his eyes scanned for anything that'd be of use, much to his dismay there was nothing of use, except for a large lead pipe which appeared to have fallen off the car, it was sharp and rusty, not good for hitting to brittle: but maybe for stabbing. His left hand went for it, arming himself "Here we go..." he wryly remarked as he dashed to a different car, remaining undetected by his adversaries and the legion of dead, the biggest threat was the man, his ability seemed most lethal, the other seemed capable, but not to strong. Dwayne waited for a few crucial moments, before waiting and jumping into an alleyway, he let out a heavy sigh of relief he'd made it again, and was nearly out of the way, if he could get to that building he could climb it, and access the easiest route, the zip line which was in fairness the easiest way to get into the Gorge Mall.

Dwayne twisted his head back, as he vaulted ontop of the car and preformed a 10ft leap into the air, grabbing onto the ledge he rebounded up there with a variety of novice athletics. As Dwayne reached the top, he peered back down noticing the two below were to busy fighting to notice him, infact the horde was larger, Dwayne chuckled "A never ending army, indeed." his head twisted away, and he scanned his surrounds, a variety of easily navigated roof tops layed out before him, only the odd zombie which could easily be dispatched or outrun. His hand automatically dropped the pipe, which fell to the ground with a large clatter. Dwayne breathed heavily, before he began running, his speed kept building up until he was running at an inhuman rate.

Dwayne could eventually see the route in the distance, and a smile formed on his face, as well as a rumble from his stomach, I'd be good to get a bite to eat. Dwayne knew however that he'd have to go out here again, that suited him fine he hated the mall it was to small and Dwayne was always a little claustrophobic. Upon reaching the zip line Dwayne stopped, his superior eyesight picked out a sniper easily he stopped before waiting, a voice rang out from somewhere unknown, it was filled with static "Identify yourself." the voice ordered in which Dwayne leaned close and spoke "I am back." the voice eased up a little, and took on a more friendly tone, "Ah Clarence, you're back." Dwayne yawned before muttering "Let's skip the plesantries, just send over the zipline." Dwayne watched from a distance as the zip line wound backwards and got closer to him. After a minute the zip line arrived, he grabbed hold of its bars and pushed himself off the ledge of the building, heading into the Gorge Mall.

Dwayne - Rooftop of Mall

Dwayne felt the course of adrenaline as he sprung off the zip line and rolled onto the floor, landing successfully onto the roof of the mall. Dwayne lay there, laughing bizarrely for a few seconds, before rolling onto his stomach and pushing himself up, "I'll never get used to that," he muttered a certain uncertainty in his tone, which forced a thin smile onto his face which was red with exhaustion. His tired eyes looked up before darting left and then right observing his surroundings. His eyes spotted the winch by the corner of the building which had been lowered, and a crowd of people assembled by it, Dwayne couldn't really see the commotion going on due to some people crowded around it.

He brushed his jacket clean, before pushing past a man by the winch his mouth dropped in annoyance, "I could've gotten up this route!" he groaned annoyed at having taken the long route, pushing his hand to his forehead he also noticed the group from before, his eyes widened another notch, as he watched bemused at the scene, his eyes even picked out a falcon from which he was certain it was the girl form before. It looked like the scene was already in hand. Dwayne's eyes focused on each of them before he quipped dryly "I'll take the long road, you take the short road." he turned around, shaking his head wearily walking into the main building.
