The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 2 authors

Maxwell had fallen asleep on the couch, being tired from the Boot Camp, and just worn out mentally. "Maxwell, here.." He groaned, answering his phone. As he heard KeiKei, he nodded, "Yeah. Okay." He agreed to her invitation, and then freshened up into a button-down shirt and jeans, then driving right on over.
"Hey, baby." He smiled as he shut the door behind him, and hugged Kei.

Jackson nodded to the girls, and watched Lani go out to the grill, and he took Addison to the living room, where he put her on the couch, and then had a tickle fight with the girl. "Don't think you're going to be hard to take down!" He smiled, and Addison giggled loudly. "Daddy, no! No, Daddy!"

Alani smiled when she heard Jackson and Addison playing in the living room and glanced over towards Keikei who seemed to be on the phone with her boyfriend. Keikei hadn't told her mother yet because she wanted Maxwell to be with her when she told the family. The female began placing the steaks on the grill and then returned inside to start making the potatoes.

Keikei smiled after hearing his acceptance to her question and hung up the phone before speaking to the others. "He's on his way," she stated to her parents...which was strange having them both in the same house again after being used to the fact that her father was dead...when he clearly wasn't. At this moment she grew highly enraged with the government. How could they just pull a family like this apart?
Keikei heard as Maxwell pulled into the driveway and she made her way over to the door, waiting for him to come inside. She hugged him back and gave him a kiss before walking him over towards her father. "Dad, this is Maxwell, Maxwell this is Jackson," she stated. "Just thought you two needed a normal introduction," she added with a soft chuckle.

Maxwell shook the hand of the man whose daughter he was going to marry, a little bewildered. He could have sworn her father was dead, but maybe it was her uncle? He couldn't keep her family in line anymore. "Yessir. An honor to meet you."
As Jackson and Addison left, Maxwell turned to Kei. "I missed you so much." He hugged her, and kissed her head. "Are we getting anything from here tonight, or did we talk to them about that yet?" He looked puzzled.

Addison sat on the couch, regaining her breath, as Jackson stood straight, and shook the boy's hand who was pushed before him. By the way KeiKei looked at him, Jackson could tell Maxwell was special. "I take it you're Maxwell?" He chuckled at him. "Ah, it's nothing. Please, I'm just going to help the wife in the kitchen, so make yourself at home." He grinned, disappearing into the kitchen. Addison squealed bouncing behind him. "Daddy! Daddy!"
Jackson scooped her up, and leaned against the counter looking at Lani. He sighed before speaking. "I take it you know this Maxwell? I know I haven't been around, but, I'm still the father." He grinned, and kissed at Lani's cheek.

Alani began to walk out the door to flip the steaks in order to cook the other side before returning back into the kitchen and removed the potatoes from the burner and replaced the empty burner with the vegetables. No matter how weird it felt having her entire family back at home and eating dinner together, it still was the most amazing thing that has ever happened. It was great.
Alani smiled over towards Jackson once more, finding Addison still in her father's arms. "You know, Addison was always a Daddy's Girl even before you have met each other a couple days ago. You were all she was ever asking for," Alani stated to the man she would hopefully be able to call her husband again.

She led him over to the couch and sat him down, feeling it was time to explain everything to him. "Alright, Mom told me Logan left her and Dad never died, the government just made it seem that way for reasons that I'm still not even grasping yet, and things between the two of them are just complicated. Especially when Logan is involved. You see, Logan was Jackson's best friend."

Maxwell soaked in the information. "So your Dad's best friend was your Step Dad, but now he's nothing to anyone?" Maxwell nodded. "I think I got it." He chuckled, and kissed her head. "I can't wait to fall asleep with you in my arms." He whispered, and kissed her shoulder, holding her hand and yawning.

Addison blushed, as she was teasingly interrogated by her father. "Is that right, Miss Addison?" Addison shyly shook her head. Jackson laughed. "Good. Can't have any more softies like your mother." He smiled, and looked to Lani. "I'm sure Max is just fine then, if he's okay with you." He chuckled.

Alani stood to her feet and got one of Addison's favorite juices and handed it to her and filled her glass up with a bit of wine, something she does every night with dinner. "Jackson, do you want some wine?" she questioned as she set her glass down on the table in front of her plate.
After tending to Jackson she took a seat and watched as the love birds stepped into the dining room, taking the last two seats. "I have something to tell all of you," she heard her older daughter state and she just nodded her head, waiting for her to start up with whatever she needed to let anyone know. Though part of her already had a feeling they were engaged, mainly because earlier the day before Maxwell asked about proposing to her. Which Alani cheerfully allowed him to do.
Besides, Maxwell was a great man for Keikei, she loved seeing the way they act around each other. They make each other happy and that's all that really matters to Alani.

"I have something to tell all of you," she stated to her family as she began to fix her plate. There was no doubt about it how nervous she was about giving this news, especially with her father sitting at the table as well. If he was anything like he was in the past, she knew he would most likely have a couple things to say to both her and Maxwell. Though she tried her best to hide it.

Maxwell smiled as he was taken to the table. He laid a napkin on his lap, and smiled at Kei as she began to speak. He didn't want to take her moment of glory, but the suspense killed him. "We're getting married." He smiled, and knew he'd be in trouble for that later.

Jackson perked up as Kei announced herself, nodding to Lani. "Yes, please." He smiled, and sat, before having Addison giggle. "Love Doves! Love Doves!" Jackson raised a brow as he turned to Kei. "Yes, m'dear?"
When Maxwell suddenly blurted that they were engaged, Jackson smiled nodding. "I'm sure you've found a lucky one, Kei. I trust you in your decisions." He said, and nodded to Lani. "Anything you want to add?"

Honestly the mother felt like she was about to spout a river from her eyes from how happy she was about her baby finding a good man to settle down with, but she was also going through the normal motherly feelings about it. Alani felt like she was losing her baby and hoped that no matter what the two of them went through they would always be there for each other.
The only thing she was mainly concerned about was the same thing that happened between her and Jackson would happen to Keikei and Maxwell. Though, Alani knew Keikei could handle herself, she just couldn't help but worry. Alani didn't want her baby girl going through all of those problems like she had and was still trying to deal with.

Kei could tell that her mother was going through a bit of her motherly feelings about it but she was just happy her mother was happy for her. As for her father, she could tell he was happy for her as well but she just was unsure about how to respond to that. After all, it was going to take some getting used to after going through six years without him. But she wasn't going to push him out of her life, she still loved the man just as much as she had those few years ago.
"Um, not right now. We haven't talked about it. But another thing I wanted to tell you was that I was going to be moving in with Maxwell this week," she stated with more concern in her voice than ever before. Keikei felt bad about this because her father just got home and she was moving out. Even though she knew she would still be able to see him whenever she could, she couldn't help but feel this way. Keikei just hoped that Addison wouldn't freak out, that was something she was worried about more than ever.

Maxwell smiled right back at Kei, and held her hand under the table, just for a moment. He then let go as Jackson spoke. "I don't know.. depends on how much Kei has." He teased, eating.
The dinner seemed to go by quickly with her parents, and he soon found himself with an arm around Keikei, and the grownups all sitting in the living room with wine, as Addison was sent to bed.

Jackson smiled, nodding as Lani spoke. "We're happy for the both of you, nonetheless." He frowned as she said she was moving out, but he accepted that they wouldn't change what was going on now, for everything he'd missed in the past. "Do you guys need help with boxes or anything?" He looked between them.
Addison smiled as her sister announced, and then Jackson interrupted. "So, I have a brother now? Neato!" She giggled, and then continued eating.
Later, Jackson sipped his wine, kissing Lani's cheek. "So, do we need to start packing you up?" He looked to Kei.

Alani put Addison to bed before stepping into the living room with the rest of her family and sat down on the couch beside Jackson, walking into a conversation about moving Keikei out.

Maxwell chuckled as Kei felt the need to explain herself. "Darling, there's no rush. It was just a curious question." He smiled up at her, and when she nestled back into his arms, he felt at peace, as if his puzzle of life was starting to click together. He looked at her with love in his eyes, and rubbed his thumb over her hand as they all clinked glasses.
Soon after the wine was gone from the glasses, Maxwell let out a yawn. "You about ready, love?" He asked sincerely, stretching as he sat in the chair.

Jackson snaked his arm around Lani's shoulders, his hand falling limp off of it, dangling restfully, as his nose nuzzled her cheek and he kissed her soft skin. "Of course, I'm not trying to kick you out. Just let me know when I can help, and your mother and I would be more than willing." His cup clinked with the other three's and

Everything looked so empty with all of Logan's crap gone. But honestly, she was completely relieved. He definitely made her choice to go back to Jackson a lot more simpler than she thought it was. If the man never loved her to begin with, what was she doing with him anyway. She glanced over at the dresser, finding the rings still sitting on the top of it and a note. With a sigh she lifted it within her hands and began to read it.
Alani,
I'm sorry things turned out this way but I believe it were for the better. I know Jackson is back and he is the person you should be with. I'm also sorry I used you and made you believe I loved you. I know you hate me now and I'm pretty sure Jackson does too and he has every right to. But I left these rings behind because they're rightfully yours. Do as you please with them. Goodbye.
-Logan
The brunette sighed as she ripped the note up and dropped it into the trashcan and stripped down before pulling her silk nightgown on. She then proceeded to lay herself down in the bed and snuggle herself up under the covers, trying to remove every negative thought from her mind so she wouldn't return to having nightmares.

"I love you Dad. It's nice to have you back. I'll be sure to let you know whenever I'm ready to start moving," she stated before returning to Maxwell's side, ready to go.

Jackson managed a small kiss to Lani's cheek firmly before she disappeared upstairs. "I love you Dad. It's nice to have you back. I'll be sure to let you know whenever I'm ready to start moving," Jackson couldn't help the smile that tugged at his lips as if he'd just been told he'd won all the money in the world. "I love you too, bunches in fact." He grinned, and opened his arms, as Maxwell stepped back, and let him hug her. He hugged her like he did her mother, and his nose took in her scent, as he held her tightly. "It seems like just yesterday Lani was telling me we finally got to see you." He smirked, and kissed the girl's forehead, before patting Maxwell's shoulder blade, firmly.
"You kids get home now. I hear there's all kinds of craziness on the roads now." He chuckled, locking the door behind them. As he turned off all the lights downstairs, he went upstairs, peeking in on Addie before he changed, and wore his pajamas to their room. He wasn't shirtless, but he might as well have been. His shirt showed his still apparent muscular body, and his pants were loose. He snuck under the covers, his hand running up from Lani's hip to her arm, and stroked her skin with his finger tip. "I love you.." He whispered in her ear, before scooting close, and wrapping his strong arms around her.

"We love you too, Mrs. Reynolds." Maxwell had a boyish grin on his face as he stood to his feet, and witnessed KeiKei tell her father goodnight. It was nice that she'd finally had a father, and he was about to marry her. His life was coming together. He couldn't wait until the first time he came home after a deployment. Maybe.. he'd even have a kid waiting for their Papa to come home. He didn't want to rush things, as much as they already were though.
When they finally did get to the apartment, Maxwell was quick, the first in the shower. He came out smelling manly, and he awaited his bride on the bed, with the covers over him already. "Kei.. baby, c'mon. You take too long." He groaned, and shut the lamp out on his side of the room, another on Kei's side.

The woman felt like she was melting into his muscular arms. She felt like her high school years were coming back to her. She was able to marry her high school sweetheart and quickly found out nothing would ever be able to pull the two of them apart. No matter what happened they were able to mend their ways and find each other again. That was something she always wanted and now she had it.

The blonde stood to her feet as she placed the bookmark in her book and closed it as she stepped into the room with a sigh and set the book down on the nightstand. She stripped down to her shirt and underwear before climbing into the bed and pulled the blanket over her. "Sorry, you know how I am with my books," she stated with a slight chuckle.

Needless to say, Jackson slept soundly for the first time in a while, and woke up the next morning to hear the sounds of birds chirping. It was finally the weekend, and Addison was out of school. She'd probably want to visit Kei and Maxwell after they moved them in.
The sun's rays were not a welcomed visitor as Jackson opened his blue eyes. He shut them quickly, and burrowed into Lani's stomach under the covers, his arms still around her waist. After a few minutes of waking up, he began to trail his way back up.

"It's not that romance rubbish again, is it?" Maxwell moaned like a teenager not wanting to do his chores. "Because.. time and time again, I prove to you that I can do that stuff so much better than those make believe Prince Charmings in those pages." He chuckled, and opened his arms, sucking in his fiance. "None the less, you'll always close those books and come right back here." Maxwell, pressing his lips to the skin of her forehead, silently stroked her back, and his hand went under her shirt, feeling her lukewarm skin. "You amaze me. Ever second I see you...." His eyes glimmering. "...I see something new." He smiled, before nuzzling into her.
Jackson was the first up that morning, as his training permitted him to be. He was out of the house by 3 A.M., and wouldn't be back until noon or so. That didn't stop him from pleasing his fiance though. He left a nice little note, with directions to some pancakes he stored in the fridge for her.
"Good Morning, sleepyhead! I, your devilishly handsome fiance, had to attend to duties at camp, and unfortunately could not give you your morning kisses. So, to make up for it, I have an amazing night planned for you tonight, AND I made pancakes.
They're on the top shelf.
XOXO,
Max"

She leaned towards him and gave him a kiss upon his lips before climbing out of bed. She went straight passed the dresser, finding the rings still sitting there and just sighed before stepping into their bathroom. She took care of her personal business before brushing her teeth and began getting dressed for the day.

The next morning she awoke around seven A.M. and found the note Maxwell left on the nightstand. She read over the words and smiled before trekking her way into the kitchen to heat up the pancakes. Though the second she set them into the microwave she immediately found herself with an urge to puke. She ran towards the bathroom and went straight to the toilet.

"Why in such a rush?" He raised an eyebrow, hopping off the bed a minute after she did, and padded his way to the bathroom where he leaned against the doorway, just taking her in. "Take it easy, beautiful." He grinned towards her, and his lips pursed into a smile of happiness.
He managed to kiss her cheek before getting ready himself. In jeans and a loose fitting shirt, he plodded down the stairs first, and heard Addison starting to wake up. When she came down the stairs, he caught her in his arms, and she giggled happily. "Daddy!" She acted like a toddler, and he loved it. "Addison, what should we make your mother for breakfast today?" Addison smiled mischievously. "Pancakes!" He nodded, and they triumphantly began to make breakfast, Addison's legs hanging off the countertop.

Maxwell was in the middle of his boot camp, and they were allowed breaks every so often for water, but not for phone calls. He wished this would be over soon, and he could return to his sweet girl at their home.

Alani sat down at her desk and began checking her email to see if she had anything important coming in about her divorce with Logan and sadly found nothing yet. It wasn't until then she realized she was alone in the room. She glanced back up at the rings sitting on top of the dresser and placed them into her pocket, deciding to just sell them to a pawn shop just so she could get them out of sight.
Alani then began to make her way downstairs and into the kitchen, finding Addison helping her father make breakfast. She smiled at the sight and immediately went to pull out the camera before the two of them could notice her and snapped a picture. "This is going in the scrapbook," she stated with a soft giggle before setting the camera back where she found it.

After a delightful breakfast with his girls, Jackson leaned back in his dining room chair, letting out a satisfied breath. Addison, however, was more than happy to give her father all the hints and tips of the house as he'd missed everything that's happened in the house since she was born. She started rambling for the next few hours, and before Jackson knew it, it was nearly 12:30 P.M. He chuckled, stopping Addison. "Love, I think that's enough for today, don't you?" She frowned, but was soon over it, as she was quickly distracted with some toys in the living room. Taking the moment, he snuck to Lani.
"Goodness.. I had no idea she took after me soo much." He teased as he came closer to the mother of his child, and smiled innocently, as he leaned down, and kissed her, long and slow.

Maxwell was walking in the door at 12:30, and he was so relieved to be home. He set his backpack down by the front door, and he walked into the living room, where he kissed Kei's head lovingly.
"You look.. really tired, baby. Are you okay?" His eyes glazed with concern, but he didn't get too close to her, as he was still sweaty, having just walked in.

At that moment, she remembered she had the rings in her pocket and looked to Jackson. "Would you want to go out for a bit, maybe get some lunch and drop by the pawn shop, I have a couple things I need to get rid of," she stated, hoping that she wouldn't have to be telling him exactly what it was she was hoping to remove from her possession. That was one talk he definitely wasn't ready to deal with right now, not when everything has been going so well.

Everything was going so well between them right now, this was far from something she needed to deal with if he were to freak out. She wasn't ready for his temper right now. She just hoped he would be calm and civil about the situation since the two f them were far from ready for kids. Well, at least in her opinion.

"Sure, love. Let's go." He replied, then went and got himself as well as Addison dressed. He raced the girl to the car after Lani confirmed their departure, and was strategically beat by the youngster. "Fooled again!" He bellowed, and smiled as he hopped in, looking to Lani.

Maxwell was blank a minute as he processed the information she'd just given him. Then, his eyes were bright, and he smiled hugely. "Kei.. no!" He hugged her to him, not caring about his smell at the moment. "I'm so happy for us. This is fucking amazing." He kissed everywhere he could on her.

Upon climbing into the vehicle she started the engine and pulled off onto the highway. "What do you guys want for lunch. I figured that since we're already out we could stop somewhere once I take care of a couple things," she stated to Jackson and her daughter whom was in the backseat.

Though just as she was finished speaking, she was leaning over the small trashcan once again, vomiting her guts out.
