Secrets: When Alaska was 16 she was drugged and gang raped at a party. She never told anyone because she feared the boys who raped her would hurt her or no one would believe her. Because of this, she's become more reserved and although she loves to party, she doesn't go to them as often any more. She still struggles to cope with her secret to this day.

In-Depth

Personality:
Alaska is a well mannered, obedient girl. Never does she perform reckless behaviour. She's often characterized as the teacher's pet. Some despise her for her sweet personality and wits but she just ignores them. She likes to stand up for herself and not let anyone get her down. She always tells herself "You fail if you let them get to you" so she keeps her head high and ignores those who try to get her down.

Alaska is very popular. Despite being the teacher's pet, the popular clique loved Alaska and her sweet personality. It was strange because all they cared about was boys and parties and Alaska cared about academics. They reached a middle ground and Alaska helped them study instead of cheat and in turn she learned how to flirt and make people laugh. She loves to flirt recklessly and it helps with the persuasion. She opts not to use it but sometimes it slips and she doesn't realize she's using it.

Alaska has a bubbly personality. She loves to make other's laugh and it works most of the time. She loves to try new things and often she'd rather go out and do something than stay home although there is the occasional night where she just wants to stay in and study. Alaska hates spending long periods alone. In a way, being popular has made her crave attention and she always needs someone to listen to her.

Alaska is very competitive. Add in stubbornness and she ends up in a tunnel vision. All she sees is her goals and that's all she wants. She won't acknowledge anything else until she gets what she wants. Because of this, she tends to be a dirty fighter and will throw you to the ground if you get in her way. Of course Alaska has a strong conscience so she will apologize after but until she's gotten her goal, she won't apologize for anything.

Alaska is quick to forgive others. Many acknowledge this has her fatal flaw. Along with her eagerness to help others, it's a recipe for disaster. Alaska is trying to work on it but it's built into her personality and there might never be a time where she will be able to turn a blind eye. She's also very gentle and she would never hurt someone unless, she was in her tunnel vision moment. Alaska has a thirst for knowledge as do all the children of Athena. She loves learning new things and she's captivated by the most boring things. People always dreaded lectures in high school but Alaska absolutely adored them. She always asked questions and she was deemed every teachers "favourite" student.

The Past Defines Us

History:
Alaska always loved hearing the story of how his parent's met. They were at a High Society New York party. Everyone wore fancy dresses and her father was captivated by Athena. They danced the night away and it was love at first sight. Alaska thought it was the best fairytale ever and would ask her dad to tell it to her every week.

Alaska grew up thinking her mother passed away in a car crash when Alaska was 2 months old but that wasn't the case. She grew up in a rich neighbourhood in a apartment near to her dad's work, Wall Street. She attended a public school until 6th grade where she was pretty popular before switching to a Private Girls Academy. All Alaska's life, she was completely interested in boys until she met Aurora. Aurora and Alaska were like sisters but in the summer before 9th grade, Alaska found it was more than friendship she wanted between the two. Alaska went out partying that summer and experimented with her sexuality. It finally dawned on her that she was Bisexual.

Alaska found out Aurora felt the same and they dated in secret for awhile until Aurora was caught cheating on her with a College Student. At first Alaska was hurt and disgusted that her 15 year old friend would have sex with a 19 year old but then she let it go. They parted ways and Alaska found a new popular crowd to join. They were inviting and she felt home there.

When Alaska was in 10th grade, her All Girls Academy integrated to accept boys too. She first caught the attention of Jake. He was popular too and kind. He made her laugh and for a while, many deemed them as "The Power Couple" of the academy. Alaska knew she was in love but it all crumbled one night. In the spring of 10th grade, she was invited to a party. Her friend's had went to go mingle so she stood alone. A boy from a nearby rival high school drugged her and their basketball team gang raped her. For a couple weeks she was in a state of shock. Her bubbly personality was replaced with that of an introvert for awhile. She was quiet and when people tried to ask her what was wrong she strayed away from the subject.

Over time Alaska healed somewhat. She went back to being her bubbly self but Alaska found it hard to be with anyone so she broke up with Jake and spent most of her weekends staying in and studying. People eyed her warily. Many were worried about what had happened to her and rumours circulated around the school of Jake cheating on her. Her dad found this was a suitable time to tell her she was a demigod which upset Alaska even more. Finally she coped with it and decided to attend Demigod Academy so she could find out what she was and escape the drama of her old school.

Other: Her weapon of choice is her Bow & Arrow.

So begins...

Robyn awoke with the sun shining in her face. She groaned at this and sat up in bed taking her a second to realize where she was. After that the blonde pushed herself out of the bed and stumbled towards the bathroom. You could say Robyn was never a morning person always preferring the night than the day. After she got dressed Robyn quickly made her way out her room heading down the steps of the dormitory seeing no one else foyer but that's what she expected since she woke up a bit late.

Heading towards the cafeteria Robyn shoved her hands in her pockets rolling her shoulders. She wasn't nervous she was just taken back by some of the sweet smells that came from the cafeteria. It made her stomach turn a little bit before it settled down. Upon entering the cafeteria Robyn scanned all around looking for someone to sit with when her eyes fell on Casey, the twins and a blonde chick walking away from the same table. She smiled to herself walking up to the line. She looked at all the food and made a funny face scrunching up her nose a bit.

She was never a heavy eater in the morning and so seeing all that food her stomach didn't quite approve of the sight. She grabbed a green apple and a bottle of water and made her way over to Casey sitting next to her. " Yo, Morning guys." She said in a cheerful tone as she took a bite out of her apple. Robyn looked around once more noticing Adam over at another table. I'll say hi later, I don't feel like getting up. After that quick thought her mind trailed off to someone else, Alaska. She had actually taken a liking to her and wanted to hang out again but she didn't see her yet this morning.

Casey looks up and smiles as she sees Robyn. "Hey, morning," Casey says with a smile. She was at this point trying to scoop out the last few bits of yogurt. "I am telling you Casey, you're going to love capture the flag. Maybe we should have taught you how to defend yourself at least a little bit though..." Jordan says with a thoughtful expression as he finishes off Jason's orange juice. His brother had just gone to talk to Ricky, but then left the cafeteria for some reason. His contacts were probably bothering him, which happened sometimes. Jordan could actually feel the discomfort Jason felt and rubbed his eyes though he knew it wouldn't go away until Jason took the contacts out.

"You okay Jordan?" Casey asks, her eyes somewhat curious as she watched the twin rub at his eyes. Jordan nodded his head. "Yeah, yeah. Jason's contacts are just bothering me," Jordan says with something that sounded like annoyance. Casey hesitates, then nods as if it made sense to her. Jordan waved away the question in her eyes as he looks over at Alana. His breath caught slightly as he saw her and wished he was there with her. "Class aught to start soon you know. Speaking of which, I need to get my stuff... I'll do it later," Jordan says lazily as he leans back in his chair.

Casey shook her head, bewildered by the strange Apollo twins reasoning. "So Robyn, have you ever played capture the flag before?" Casey asks, curious as to how it worked as the twins kept being vague about it, as if they wanted to have Casey figure it out by herself which wouldn't be a good idea. "Is there really weapons? Casey asks unsure why the faculty would allow a bunch of teens and young adults to fight each other with weapons over a flag. Was there something that Casey wasn't getting?

Kyle was sitting in the library, his head stuck in a book. He hadn't been able to fall asleep so he went to the library at 5:30 am and he'd been reading The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald ever since. Kyle was nearing the end of the book but he didn't want to go to class. He'd always hated school and he really wasn't friends with anyone besides Simon and Elinor but Elinor was in high school and Simon... Well he wasn't Elinor. Ever since Kyle had first met Elinor, he'd felt a strong attraction to her. He knew it was wrong because he was 19 and she was only 17 but the age difference made him want her even more.

Finally Kyle finished the book. He closed it and fitted it into it's proper place on the shelf. He knew he should eat but he didn't feel like it. He knew he'd pay for it later but oh well. Kyle made his way out of the Library and looked around. The soon was rising higher into the sky and it was a beautiful day. Kyle didn't know where he was going until he saw Elinor, Camden and Ariel sitting under a tree, eating their lunch..

Kyle walked up and waved at the group. "Hey." he smiled, sitting on the grass next to Elinor and Camden. Kyle fidgeted with his hands. He'd never been a good conversationalist and he didn't know what to talk about. He looked around nervously and bit his lip. "So how is everyone doing this fine morning?" he said. He mentally smacked himself. Way to look cool in front of Elinor.

Kyle smiled. "Thats great." he murmured. Kyle glanced around anxiously. He'd never gotten used to being around more than 1 person at a time. Never had he talked as a group, unless you counted class. "I had no interest attending the party." Kyle sighed, answering her question. To tell the truth, Kyle had never attended a party. Kyle watched as another figure approached the group. Upon closer inspection, he discovered it was Leslie. Kyle was distracted, looking around, when he heard Leslie say what sounded like an insult. "Always surrounding yourself with these people." he said. His tone was soft but something in his expression noted disgust, as if they weren't worth his time. "Leslie... Always a pleasure to see you." Kyle managed a fake smile of pleasure. He smiled at Ariel who shot a remark back at Leslie.

Next Kyle watched as Gwen Whitney walked up. She was talking to Ariel about a pair of earrings. He glanced at them and felt a pang of discomfort. He was just thinking how Demeter would love those. No, he hated her. She was never there for him so he would never think of her. But it was hard because Kyle found himself thinking about her and what she would do if she was actually in his life. Never in all of his nineteen years of life did he even meet her or talk to her. All he had was vague descriptions of her and his imagination.

Kyle looked up to see Jason standing behind Ariel. He eyed them closely before glancing away. All this company was making him feel uncomfortable. As more and more people came to visit, Kyle found it unbearable and adding to his headache this morning. "Elinor I'll see you later." he said, standing up and grabbing his bag, walking away briskly. He knew how most of them felt about him. They thought he was creepy, dumb, antisocial (which I guess was true) and generally Kyle wasn't liked very much. He knew they'd be happy to see him leave so the sooner the better, right?

Kyle found himself slightly chilly this morning. He wrapped himself in his arms and found himself walking to the large field. Out in the open, surrounded by nature, was one of the only places Kyle could find a sense of calm. When Kyle was younger, he'd spend hours in the field on his farm, trying to escape reality. You could never rely on friends to listen, but nature was there. He'd spill his thoughts all the time out there. He found a spot in the field and sat down. The grass was a bit damp here from the morning dew but he didn't mind. Kyle looked around. He could heart talking in the distance but it was a whisper to him here. Kyle let out a sigh when he remembered he'd forgotten to take his depression pills. He searched his bag and grabbed the container of pills but it was empty. Kyle held his head in his hands. He'd gone through days without having them before but it really affected his mood so he'd need them sooner or later.

Alaska rolled over in bed. Her eyes glanced at the clock and she nearly jumped out of bed. She'd woken up a lot later than she had planned. She didn't want to be late for the first day of senior year. Alaska slid out of bed and threw on her outfit for the day. She then went to work in front of her mirror, curling her eyelashes and applying a layer of mascara. She put on a coral lipstick and did a dark brown eyeshadow to compliment her eyes. she put on a bit of blush and she smiled. She wanted to impress Jason Brooks. Boy did she have a crush on him. Not only was he cute, he played the guitar too!

Alaska threw on a leather jacket and slipped on her favourite pair of Doc Martens. She'd have to be quick if she were going to make it to the cafeteria and get some breakfast. People would be in the middle of eating or finishing their breakfast by now. Alaska left the dorm and walked briskly to the Cafeteria. She saw some people gathered by the Cafeteria under a tree. She'd join them after she was done getting breakfast. She noticed a couple people... Camden, Ariel and Jordan. Alaska ducked into the Cafeteria and reappeared outside 5 minutes later with an Apple, a Yogurt, a Granola bar and a Bottle of Water.

She walked over to the group, trying to be quiet. She didn't know why but she wanted to surprise them. "Hey guys." she said, taking a bite out of her apple. She swallowed and continued, "How are you guys?" she asked.

Time: 9.45am

Classes have started for the students.
The University students are currently in Power Control situated in the training courts.
The high school students are in either English or Maths class.

Image
Image

The class had started 15 minutes ago. The teacher, one Mr Frank Solomon, had first greeted the returning students warmly, obviously pleased to find the majority alive and relatively sane. His instructions had then been to enjoy the first day of classes. He had given them several options, each designed to help them get out of their holiday funk and get back into the swing of things. Set up at the further end of the training courts was a collection of targets and dummies, ranging in shapes and sizes. Some were stationary and some would move when in play. All offered a good place for students who wished to exercise control and train their precision with their powers. Closer to him, where he could watch and make sure that nobody went overboard, were the sparring areas. These were places where students could have mock fights against each other, using their powers to defeat their opponents. Of course, actually hurting anyone was against the rules, hence why Mr Solomon was hovering nearby. As usual for those not inclined to fighting, tables had been erected to the side to allow students, usually Athena and Hephaestus' children, to but their brains to the test. In between each area other students had come up with their own lesson plan, each stretching out their powers in their own way.

Amelia had been inclined to head down to the set up of dummies. There she, and the other students who had picked the moving targets, were busy decimating the Academy's population of stuffed targets. With a grin Amelia sent another sizzling bolt of lightning flying towards the dummy, reducing it to a smouldering heap of ash in seconds. Her hands were buzzing with miniature lightning bolts, the air around her seemed to be giving off a slightly static vibe and she couldn't help but smile. She sighted down the range again, threw her hands up in front of her and sent a flurry of lightning bolts flying towards a target set up halfway down the range. It exploded in an eruption of smoke and Amelia turned her attention to the next target. This one popped out of the ground on her left side, moving forward on it's mechanism. It was shaped like a mythical hall hound and ran low to the ground. Even so it didn't stand a chance as Amelia sent another bolt of lightning flying at it.

She took a step back from the moving targets, both to let her peers have a go and to catch her breath. Power control was undoubtedly one of Amelia's favourite classes. Where else was she able to use her gift without the fear of hurting another person? After all, lightning wasn't exactly the most pleasant thing to be hit with. She loved the feeling of it's power racing through her and had to resist going overboard. As she caught her breath, Amelia glanced around the courts. She spotted Eddie lounging on the sidelines and couldn't help but shake her head. She knew that his powers weren't really the active, fighting type. They were dangerous in their own way, or they could be if he trained them, but she understood his fear about losing control of them. Insanity wasn't something easy to control. But, he'd never learn how to if he simply sat and did nothing. With a shrug Amelia turned her attention back to the targets.

Ariel sat at the back of the Maths class, choosing to block out most of what Miss Francis, the teacher, was saying. Class was really not her thing. She would much rather be out socialising, or attending VIP events. Sitting here was not her idea of a good time. So instead of tuning into the lesson Ariel was staring at her nails, tapping each finger nail with her opposite hand and changing the colour with her powers. She had always been glad that her power over make-up extended to her nails. It meant that she always had the perfect nail colour and didn't have to spend money on the actual polish, not that money had ever been a problem for her. Ariel had just settled on a pastel green for one hand when she was jolted from her thoughts.

"Miss Lee, are you paying attention?" The teacher, Miss Francis asked across the silent room. Ariel glanced up from her hands to find Miss Francis staring at her, her arms folded across her chest and her own unpainted nails tapping quietly against her opposite arm. Ariel felt no fear towards the teacher. How could she when the woman was wearing a hideous floral dress matched with a pair of last seasons sandals? "No Miss. I was doing my nails." Ariel replied, smiling serenely at the woman. Miss Francis stared at Ariel, not quite sure how to react to the girl. It was obvious that she had never had Ariel as a student, or she would have let the comment go. As it was Miss Francis was willing to give Ariel a chance. She cleared her throat and pointed to a particular problem on the board, "Please Miss Lee, what is the answer to this problem?" Ariel cast a lazy look at the board. There was no way she could answer that. So instead she called on her favourite weapon, her powers. Subtly was the answer and Ariel had mastered that long ago. It was slightly harder at the Academy given that here powers were common place, but that didn't make it impossible. "I don't know Miss." Ariel replied clearly, giving Miss Francis her best smile. Then, with a mental push she thrust a collection of emotions at Miss Francis. Miss Francis, about to frown at Ariel and no doubt tell her off, suddenly paused. Her face took on a content expression as she turned her gaze from the question to Ariel. Miss Francis gave Ariel a kind smile and shook her head. "Well then. That's alright. We'll move along." She said before rubbing the problem off and turning to the next one.

Ariel rolled her eyes at Miss Francis' back. She hadn't been much of a challenge. It had only taken a small amount of happiness, contentment and acceptance to make her change her tune. Really, Ariel would never be able to grow her power if she was forced to solely manipulate people as weak minded as Miss Francis. However, she had another year before she could legally leave the Academy, so it would be another year until she was able to step out into the world and put her considerable talents to good use.

Kyle was standing off to the side watching all the young demigods practice their Powers. It was Power and Control class, after all. Kyle wasn't too keen on this class. He didn't have the crazy powers that needed control. If anything he needed a "better attitude" class. Most of his ill use of powers came from an outburst. Watching the others, he felt a sort out envy wash over him. He had the ability to poison people and grow plants at will, but he didn't really classify that as a cool power.

Kyle was also never one to crave attention so he sat back in the shadows. He was an observer, not a doer. Kyle glanced around the room and saw Simon sitting on the floor, surrounded by a dark Aura. Simon was one of the only persons in the group he didn't absolutely despise. Don't get him wrong, Kyle didn't dislike everyone, but he only liked the company of a select few. Kyle studied him because, well there was nothing better to do. He seemed to be in a trance. He wondered if Simon was actually aware of what was going on or if it was a tunnel vision, where all he could focus on was his magic.

Kyle crept towards the bleachers where Simon sat and leaned against one of the supports. "Ooo this is some creepy dark magic." Kyle grinned, walking around. He sat down on the ground across of Simon, just watching him. He figured this might be creepy but he was fascinated with that he was doing.

Alaska sat in the third row of English class. English was her favourite class but she found it was hard to keep her eyes open today. She didn't have a lot of sleep and today's lecture on grammar was particularly boring. Alaska allowed herself to lean back in her chair and quietly yawn. The birds were singing outside and she longed to get some fresh air. Alaska already knew everything the teacher was talking about so she found it pointless to listen. She sat back up, sitting straight and glanced around.

Alaska scanned the classroom and found her eyes resting on Jordan Brooks. He was just 1 of the Brooks Twins but Alaska always found herself fascinated by him. He was adorable in that stupid way. She watched as he adjusted the bow under his desk so it didn't bother him. Only he would bring a full on bow into class. But then again that is something she might do but she'd be more reluctant to do that. Alaska glanced down at the notebook on her desk. She used it to write down her feelings and poetry. It was brand new for this school year but she already had a couple entries.

Alaska flipped the page to a new entry and started to write. She wasn't even conscious of what she was writing until it was there in front of her. She stared at the page and then she furiously scribbled over the entry, closing the notebook rather loudly. She looked up to make sure no one was staring at her for the scene she just caused. Alaska sighed and held her head in her hands.
