Godly Parent:
"Isn't it obvious?"
Aphrodite the Greek Goddess of love, beauty, desire, and pleasure.

Power:
While Ariel was never gifted with charmspeak, she has always been a strong empath. In particular her skills lie in replicating and manipulating other people's emotions. She can sense emotions, but only when they are very strong. A raging anger is easy enough to pick out, but someone with a quiet sadness she might not be able to sense. Not that she's ever been too concerned about how other people are feeling when it doesn't concern her. Ariel uses her powers to make people feel what she wants them to feel. She can push any emotion on a person at a range of levels. She could, if she desired, replicate immense sadness in someone or push so much happiness that a person will laugh and smile endlessly without a proper reason. However Ariel's favourite way of using her power is in subtle bursts. That way a person might not even know that they're being manipulated, but with each emotion she feeds them they will be more likely to succumb to her wishes. The emotions of lust, love and desire seem to be particularly easy for Ariel to replicate. Ariel has also found that when she is emotionally upset, her powers are that much harder to control.

Of course, being the daughter of Aphrodite Ariel also has powers over clothes and make-up. With a wave of her hand she can apply make up to her face, changing eye shadow or lip stick colour is only a blink away. Her clothes, while unable to change in the blink of an eye, never crease or stain. She is also fluent in French, the language of love.

Strengths:
Dancing \\ Acting \\ Singing "Triple threat" \\ Clever \\ Patient
Natural Feelings of Love Strengthen Her \\ Weak Minds Are The Easiest to Control

Weaknesses and Flaws:

Acting \\ Given the influence of her father it was only natural that Ariel take a shine to acting. She's passionate about it and plans on making it her career once she's finished with school.
Clothes \\ "I'm definitely counting this." Ariel has a keen eye for fashion. She loves to shop and will spend countless hours making sure she has the perfect outfit. Considering how much time it takes up, there's no wonder she counts it as a hobby.

Fears:
Growing Old \\ Becoming wrinkly and grey is the stuff of nightmares to Ariel.
Heights \\ Ariel has never been much of a fan of heights.

Secrets:
Her Fears \\ No one needs to know what Ariel fears, after all the knowledge would only make her look weak in their eyes.

In-Depth

Personality:
[Calculating \\ Manipulative \\ Spoiled \\ Patient \\ Protective \\ Confident]
Calculating and manipulative, Ariel isn't used to being denied anything for long. She has always known what she likes and is usually able to get it, even if it requires slightly tampering with someone's emotions to do so. She has no problems using people to get what she wants, often stepping over those she deems unimportant to reach her goal. Ariel views manipulating people to do her will as a game. She likes to see how quickly she can subtly manoeuvre someone to do what she wants, without them knowing that she's playing with their emotions.

While many might describe these actions as those of a ruthless bitch, it's important to remember that Ariel will act the friend until she has no further use for you. Two faced, back stabbing, whatever you want to call her, most people don't realise they're being played until it's too late (if indeed they ever realise). When Ariel turns on her charm it's hard to ever imagine that she could be capable of deliberately hurting someone. She knows how to act innocent and only shows her true face to those who have truly displeased her or she doesn't give a damn about. Not that Ariel sets out to hurt people. She would never purposefully ruin someone's life just for the sake of it. Usually they will have wronged her first, or be in the way of her goal.

Ariel is surprisingly smart, not that she's ever applied herself. Given a chance she could excel in several subjects, but often she won't put in the time or effort. This isn't from a lack of concentration or patience, for she has patience in abundance. No, her disinclination to apply herself to most studies is because she doesn't think it important. She knows where she wants her life to go and anything that isn't related naturally takes a back seat.

To those who Ariel calls a true friend (and they are rare), Ariel will frequently drop the façade. Around them and her father she is a much more genuine person. She will laugh and joke (not always at the expense of others) with her friends and generally be a fun teenager. To her true friends and her family Ariel is also fiercely protective. Insult or hurt anyone she deeply cares about and you will find yourself relentlessly hounded until Ariel believes that you have been punished enough.

Ariel likes everything, from her clothes to her bedroom, to be just so. She will never leave her room without looking perfect and if she feels a hair out of place she will find the closest mirror and fix it. Vanity is a common trait in Aphrodite's children, but with their looks it's not hard to see why. Ariel knows that she looks good. She knows what colours best suit her, what light makes her the most attractive and how to play off her assets. Flirting is naturally something she enjoys, especially when flirting with someone who can handle her attention.

History:
Ariel Mercy Lee was born the day before valentines day to actor turned director Nicholas Lee and the Greek Goddess of Love Aphrodite. Really, looking back on it Ariel is only surprised that the union didn't happen sooner. Her father, Nicholas Lee, moved from China with his parents at the tender age of six months. They settled in Chicago and Nick spent the next eighteen years in relative obscurity until a final growth spurt pushed him over six foot. He was spotted in a market, signed a week later and so began a highly successful modelling career. When he turned his sights to acting he moved to Hollywood. While many find the transition hard, Nicholas found his entrance onto the silver screen relatively smooth. By the time he was twenty-five, Nicholas Lee was a household name. Eventually he decided to try his hand at directing and it was then, in the prime of his career, that Aphrodite noticed him. He found himself flattered by the attention of the Goddess, who was open about her divinity. Their relationship was not anchored in love, as one might imagine, but lust and pleasure. Nicholas knew that Aphrodite would not stay with him forever, she was a god after all and he a mere mortal. He expected to wake up every morning and find her gone, and was surprised each time she was still there. When she eventually did leave Nicholas had to content himself with the time they'd had together. However a few months later a baby girl appeared in his L.A mansion, wrapped in a soft blanket with an attached locket in the shape of a heart.

Ariel grew up in the eye of the public, her famous father taking her to many red carpet events. As a child of Aphrodite she thrived off the attention. Her father never failed to give her what she asked for and when he went away for week (which was a frequent event) her sitters learnt never to deny the young girl either. Those that did refuse her often found that rather than throw a tantrum like most little children, Ariel would remain eerily calm until some emotion settled over the nannies that made them question their choice. Ariel's power over emotions was always present. Even when she didn't fully understand her powers she knew that if she concentrated just right she could make someone feel what she wanted. It wasn't until her father actually explained who her mother was that Ariel's really began to get a grip on her powers. It became to a game to her, pushing people into doing what she wanted by tweaking their emotions. She enjoyed the subtlety in it. It wasn't simply making someone angry or sad, you had to leak an emotion with your words so that they associated something what you were saying with the emotion.

In this way she was able to cruise through school and much of her early life. She maintained a straight A+ average at school, not that she ever did much work. Rather she manipulated other students to do her work for her. They were all too happy to help, eager even, especially after she made them feel grateful for asking them. It was the same at work. Given her father's profession it was no surprise that Ariel go into acting. Unfortunately she was too short to model, the tall genes had apparently skipped her generation, but she had a natural talent for acting. To her co-workers she was a dream to work with, even when she stole their lines. She used her power to push herself forward, rarely caring for the consequences.

It wasn't until her dad sat her down and mentioned his concern in her behaviour that things changed. While he wasn't immune from Ariel's power, she rarely used it on him out of love and respect. Besides after his brief affair with Aphrodite he knew what powers looked like and he had seen the way Ariel manipulated those around her. He could see her spiralling out of control and his answer was the Demi-God Academy. Despite her protests Ariel was sent to the demi-god school at the age of 14. Her acting was put on hold, her father saying she had to finish school before he would allow her to return. He believed that by surrounding herself with other demi-gods it would help her to better understand the correct way to use her powers. Things didn't exactly work out as he planned, rather it's taught her to be less obvious with her manipulation. She has found using her powers here to be much more of a challenge, but one that she is fully capable of facing head on. Much to her surprise Ariel has enjoyed her years at the Academy. However, as much as she likes it she also cannot wait to get out. She wants to show the world what she can do and isn't about to let her father's rule about not using her powers stop her from anything.

Theme Song:
Primadonna || Marina and the Diamonds
Primadonna girl, yeah
All I ever wanted was the world
I can't help that I need it all
The primadonna life, the rise and fall
You say that I'm kinda difficult
But it's always someone else's fault
Got you wrapped around my finger, babe
You can count on me to misbehave

Primadonna girl

Would you do anything for me?
Buy a big diamond ring for me?
Would you get down on your knees for me?
Pop that pretty question right now, baby

Beauty queen on a silver screen
Living life like I'm in a dream
I know I've got a big ego
I really don't know why it's such a big deal though

And I'm sad to the core, core, core
Everyday is a chore, chore, chore
When you give, I want more more more
I wanna be adored

'Cause I'm a primadonna girl, yeah
All I ever wanted was the world
I can't help that I need it all
The primadonna life, the rise and fall
You say that I'm kinda difficult
But it's always someone else's fault
Got you wrapped around my finger, babe
You can count on me to misbehave

Primadonna girl

Fill the void up with Celluloid
Take a picture, I'm with the boys
Get what I want 'cause I asked for it
Not because I'm really that deserving of it
Living life like I'm in a play
In the limelight I want to stay
I know I've got a big ego
I really don't know why it's such a big deal though

Going up, going down, down, down
Anything for the crown, crown, crown
When the light's dimming down, down, down
I spin around

'Cause I'm a primadonna girl, yeah
All I ever wanted was the world
I can't help that I need it all
The primadonna life, the rise and fall
You say that I'm kinda difficult
But it's always someone else's fault
Got you wrapped around my finger, babe
You can count on me to misbehave

Primadonna girl, yeah
All I ever wanted was the world
I can't help that I need it all
The primadonna life, the rise and fall
You say that I'm kinda difficult
But it's always someone else's fault
Got you wrapped around my finger, babe
You can count on me to misbehave

Primadonna girl

So begins...

Time: 8.30am

The weather seems to rest at a comfortable temperature, not too warm or too cold. Curiously, the seasons of the Academy don't seem to relate much to the outside world, in fact it usually seems to be a mild summer day even if snow storms rage outside of it's boundaries. Of course, with a collection of super-powered demi-gods within it's walls the weather and many other aspects of life is always likely to change rapidly.

The Academy's first day of classes is always a more relaxed day for the students. Classes start slightly later than usual at 9.30am (usually classes begin at 8.55am) and end just after midday to allow for the traditional game of Capture the Flag in the afternoon.

However, this early in the morning most students can be found rising from their sleep and preparing for their day. All the students have arrived earlier in the week, giving everyone a chance to catch up on their holidays and make themselves at home again. Of course, the week has also given the students a chance to reopen old wounds, confirming past enmities or on the flip side form new friendships. Of course others have used the free week to get a head start on their studies, start working on an invention or begin to plan pranks. Of particular interest to the party animals would have been the nearby town bar which hosted a party the previous night. Of course leaving the school grounds is prohibited...

Given the vast array of personalities at the Academy, this year promises to be a very interesting one.

Alana woke up to sun shining through her window. She groaned and attempted to roll over. This of course was useless since she was deeply entangled in her sheets. She sat up and shoved the heavy comforter off her, only to discover she was wearing the same black mini dress from the night before.

She groaned and immidiately ran to the nearest mirror, praying she had remembered at least to remover her makeup. If she remembered correctly she wore smoky eye makeup last night to play up her bright blue eyes.
She exhaled as she peaked and the mirror and happily sighed, of course she remembered.

She smiled and happily strode off to her bathroom for a scalding hot shower. She exfoliated her face until she had a natural glow and dewy tone. She washed her long hair, she let it grow over the summer so it hung all the way to her mid behind. Then once she blowdryed it she straightened and curled it so she had bigbombshell curls. She then focused on her face. She applied liqued eyeliner along her lids, applied mascara, and slicked red lipstick along her plump lips.
She glanced in the mirror and a smug smile played on her lips. "Pefect "She said blowing herself a kiss. Once she was thouroughly satisfied she strose her long legs over to her closet. After numerous attempts she settled on a pair of tweed shorts that showed off her long tanned legs, a silk cream blouse that was loose yet still hugged her impressive chest and a pair of Jeffrey Campbell lita boots. She finished it with gold hoops, a delicate gold and diamond necklace, and a Channel purse.

She grabbed her phone and keys as she headed out of her dorm. She glanced at the buildings as she walked to the cafeteria. He head was high, her long blonde hair caught the sun perfectly like a golden halo, and her dewy tanned skin glowed. She proded herself on the fact that though she never met her mother she had often been called the epitome of Aphrodite.

She walked into the cafeteria and smiled a little. She waved at a few friends before walking over to the food. She grabbed a strawberry smoothie, granola bar, and a fruit salad. She immidiately smiled as she saw Rose and Eddie. "Hey guys, has anybody seen Ariel?" She said setting her food down and kissing them both on the cheek. She suddenly could feel all the eyes on her. She glanced around "Well they're a bit... bolder this year" She said spearing a slice of kiwi and popping it into her mouth. She chewed thoughtfully before spotting Jordan. She smiled at him before turning to her friend "Be right back. Don't leave without me."

She walked over to Casey, Jordan, and Jasons table. "There you are" She said easily sliding onto Jordans lap. "Hey love"She said with one of the smiles reserved just for him. She smiled at Casey too "Hey Case by the way I got thia new nail polish that will look crazy cute on you". She reluctantly nodded in greeting to Jason.

"Some say that Olympus is one big party. I would discount this as exaggeration, but judging from the behavior of my kin, there is a rather large kernel of truth to it."

Cyrus woke up early this morning, unlike a few of his "cousins", though Cyrus would prefer not to think of them that way too much. After all, that term combined with the tendency of many of his peers to "hook up" along with his own attraction to multiple said female peers was liable to trigger the incest reflex, a survival mechanism meant to defend the human species from the many genetic diseases incest would trigger.

When he woke up, Cyrus decided to take a shower as the bathroom he shared with his siblings on his floor was empty at that time of day and proceeded to dress himself and pick up the case containing his laptop. It was a custom one his brother, Camden gave to him for his birthday. Its looked to be the work of a demigod. Perhaps a child of Hermes, Athena, or Hephaestus. He and the other children of Athena along with the children of Hermes had worked on a project where the computers on school grounds could network together in a way reminiscent to the internet but without the downside of attracting monsters as it was a closed network. Truthfully, Cyrus felt he contributed very little aside from the initial idea and the mathematics behind it. However, the network proved popular. If he remembered right, someone daughter of Aphrodite was working on a replica of Facebook. Children of Aphrodite could prove industrious if given the right motivation, he mused.

He stepped out of his room an headed down to the main floor, ignoring the many weapons and bookcases he passed as he did. However, on the main floor, he stopped in front of the statue of his mother. He looked at her. She was so regal-looking and ageless, as though she demanded proper respect. Her statue was a lot different than how she acted when he met her for the first time. The way she talked with his father was so natural, so human. He did not know how the memory made him feel so he stored it away.

He headed for the cafeteria and, deciding that he would rather manage his time more efficiently, ordered a blueberry smoothie mixed with nectar. Cyrus felt that fine food such as this, with nectar and fruit from Olympus, was one small way the gods showed their children that they cared, though in an indirect manner. Not to mention Hermes charged a pretty penny too.

He sat down at a table near the corner and booted up his laptop, taking a sip of his smoothie as he did so. Immediately, he opened up Total War: Shogun 2. Total War: Rome 2 had sadly been a disappointment. It was a pity. The first Rome had been far ahead of its time. He chose a multiplayer match and smiled when he saw the screenname of one of his siblings. He raised an eyebrow when they chose the Otomo faction. So they would be using firearms. He chose the Takeda.

What followed was a half hour match where two children of Athena utilized multiple tactics against each other. His opponents use of gunpowder units was masterful, but the Takeda horse archers had a clan bonus, not to mention a longer range. While his horse archers flanked his opponents units, they charged towards his army, but he sent them to retreat in the woods. Nonetheless, it wasn't an easy match. He was unable to avoid many casualties due to the gunpowder units, but, at last, he won.

He closed his laptop and finished off his smoothie. He eyed his surroundings, noting that several people had arrived during his game. He waved at each of his friends/acquaintances and pondered who he should talk to first. His mouth twitched at Alana's actions.

"She likes one twin, but dislikes the other. Twins are a package deal, though," he mused to himself.

When Ariel Lee woke it was to find warm morning sunlight pouring through her lace curtains. Her room was bathed in a light pink glow. Ariel yawned and stretched her arms above her head before pushing herself into a sitting position. As always her room looked perfect. Everything was in it's proper place, from her collection of make up, the decorative posters that lined the walls to the tidy line of designer shoes. Ariel pushed the blankets off her and stepped out of bed. She grabbed a towel and headed for one of the two bathrooms in the dormitory. Ariel loved that the Aphrodite dorms had two bathrooms. They were needed though, particularly given the fact that the students in this dorm were more likely to take longer in the showers and in front of the mirrors. Ariel was no exception and it was nearly twenty minutes later that she stepped out of the hot shower, smelling wonderfully of strawberries.

With a luxurious towel wrapped around her small frame, Ariel padded back to her room. Sliding the doors of her wardrobe open she gazed at her wardrobe. She had made sure to purchase all the most recent fashions during the break. Her father had even had some items flown in from Milan and Paris. In the end though it hardly mattered what she picked, she would look fabulous in anything. Eventually she decided on an outfit. For the first day of school she decided on a more preppy look, picking a gorgeous blouse and tucking it to a faux leather black skirt. She paired it all with golden jewellery and a pair of new boots. Everything was designer, of course. Dressed Ariel flung her hair into a bun and then turned to do her make up. All it took for Ariel to do her make up was to wave a hand in front of her face, imagine what she wanted done and use her powers. She did just that, picturing a soft blush, killer lipstick and flawless eye-shadow as she moved her hand across her face, not quite touching. Removing her hand and turning to the mirror told Ariel that her make up was on, and perfectly. She did one final twirl in the mirror and then, satisfied, grabbed her Armani bag and strutted outside.

She made for the cafeteria, feeling the pangs of hunger calling her. It was a short walk. She saw a few younger students along the way who, if they knew her, quickly back-pedalled to get out of her path. Ariel just smirked to herself, loving the fear that they gave off. All too soon she reached the cafeteria. Pushing the doors open she found herself disappointed by the collection of people. She supposed that most of her friends either weren't up yet or were doing something else. She did see people that she liked well enough, but they were either sitting with people she cared little for or she simply didn't feel like sitting by them. She spotted Alana sitting on the lap of one of the twins. Ariel didn't know which one and hardly cared to try and figure it out. She also couldn't say that she approved of her half-sister's choice in men, but she wasn't about to go and point out the evils of her sister's choice right then and there. Instead she turned her attention to breakfast and quickly gathered a small plate of healthy options. Thanking the staff in the kitchen (because thanking those who made your food was always a smart idea), Ariel took her plate and, after another scan of the cafe, quickly exited the building.

Thankfully she spotted Elinor enjoying an orange under a tree and made a bee line for her friend. "Gorgeous dress." Ariel remarked as she carefully took a seat beside Elinor. Ariel had nothing to sit on herself, but grass stains and wrinkles in clothes always came out with another little push from her magic. "I might have to borrow it sometime." She added, applauding Elinor for her choice of clothes. It was one of the many reasons Ariel liked the girl. Of course her wicked sense of humour and her ingenious pranks were another large factor in it too.

Alana smiled leaning back into Jordan's arms. She smiled brightly at his comment of Fashion. "I'm so excited. I missed designing ocer the summer." She truly did. But she missed the praise she got from her designs more. She had a schetch book filled with designs she couldn't wait to show off.

At the arrival of Luca, Lana realized she should probably go. Not that she was worried about losing Jordan to her but she knew Jason much preffered Jordan being with Luca, than with Lana. Hell if Lana was honest he should be with Luca. Lana was too old for him, she was unreliable, and generally unpredictable. She rolled her eyes at Adams quick entry and exit before easing out of Jordans arms "Well I gotta go, I told Rose I was going to come back to sit with them" She said gesturing to Rose and Eddie. "See you later?" She said quickly kissing him on the cheek. She hugged Casey and nodded to Jason as well before she walked away.

Once she got back to her table she glared at Adam "Did you seriously call me lap candy?" said with a scoff. She turned her attention back to Rose. "So what are the hottest blondes on campus next move?" She said with a mischievous wink.

Rose was Lanas go to girl. They shared a real bond as well. Not the sister bond of her and Ariel but a bond of best friends that can only be achieved by a certain large amount of trust. A trust that the two of them shared.
"And where the hell is Ariel?" She asked feeling very uncertain and slightly annoyed that Ariel wasn't there.

When she finally spotted her she stood up and waved her over. She really didn't care who she was with. Ariel was her sister. Whoever she was with could tag along if they wanted. But she noticed her go outside. Lana pouted for a moment but decided to let it go.

Camden, hardly the sort to do anything even resembling sleeping in, has in fact been awake for a good amount of time by 8:30am. Of course, he spent most of that time, after getting dressed and showering, and eating as well, reading. To him, reading frequently and expansively is the first step towards a greater mind. Of course, his arrogant streak has him believing that he, if not already a great mind, is incredibly close to this rank. He reads a book that he had found in the school library, The Secret Life Of Pronouns, which, despite sounding a bit like an elementary guide to parts of speech, in fact talks about the significance of speaking techniques and syntax when it comes to reading a person's personality. Subjects like these, in which what may have seemed trivial can in fact be very telltale about a person, have always fascinated him. He likes to get into people's minds, simply put.

Camden might have read all the way up until it was time for him to leave for class, had he not glanced very briefly out the window, only to see Ariel walking past his cabin on the way to the cafeteria. While the son of Athena has already eaten, he has no qualms with visiting the dining hall for a second time if it means a morning interaction with the girl, whose ability to manipulate compares to his, and looks probably only make it easier for her. The student marks his page with an artificial feather and tucks it into a bag, which of course contains papers and a few other books and journals for classes. Just before leaving his room to go and join Ariel, and likely Elinor as well, among others, Camden is distracted for a moment by a bird that swoops by. He has constantly wished, himself, for the ability to fly- certain that he would hardly make the mistake for which Icarus is known. Daedalus, after all, was a son of Athena, most say, or a favorite at least, and he managed to use his wings properly.

Unfortunately, Camden is not much for inventions. Not dwelling on this, he finally leaves the cabin, taking the familiar path towards the dining hall. This is his fourth year of attendance here, and will be his final in the high school program. The young man has actually yet to decide whether he will attend university here, or in a better known school. He has the next semester to decide, fortunately, and isn't the sort to push things off too long, really. There just needs to be something to tip the scale of his decision making.

It soon becomes clear that the boy needn't even enter the cafeteria, as Elinor and Ariel are actually sitting underneath a tree just outside of it. Walking towards them, Camden raises a hand in a brief wave, smiling. "Good morning, Elinor, Ariel," he greets them politely, taking a seat near them. He's not overly concerned about grass stains, really, mostly because he has chosen a spot that appears to be mostly leaves.

While a very practical girl, Poppy sometimes has the tendency to stay up later than she ought to [usually working on a project] and then sleep in the next day. However, the girl had resolved to be on time for the first official day of school, especially given that it is starting a bit later in than it does on normal days. Thus, the daughter of Hephaestus manages to wake up a bit before 8:30, with the help of at least three alarm clocks- two of which she had made herself a few days ago with the sole intention of making ones that would force her out of bed in the morning. One simply rolls around the room, needing to be caught, and the other creates a lock box around itself as soon it senses a bit of movement- and must be told a joke in order to turn off. If asked how she designed that one, Poppy would likely offer no answer. She had made it on a whim, and the fact that it functions properly is a miracle even to her. The joke has to be a knock knock joke lasting a certain period of time- those are the criteria for the noise to go away, anyway.

Getting ready to leave isn't a huge process for the young woman. Poppy had showered the night before, so she is clean, and she doesn't really put on makeup or spend a long period of time trying to decide what to wear. Rather, the girl simply gets up, braids her hair off to the side, and puts on denim shorts, a black tank top, and an open button down over it. And she wears the same black boots almost every day, and can't be seen without her toolbelt, even when she's not using it. Some people have joked that it's super glued to her hips or something along those lines. Poppy responds only with a grin. By the time Poppy has gotten ready, she can hear the music, which had previously been blaring, click off. Or maybe it had turned off a bit ago, and she has only just noticed. Regardless, that means Rick has already left the dorm. She's joked to him before that he's going to make her go entirely deaf.

The journey to the dining hall is not long. While Poppy's limp can make it difficult to run at times, she does walk at a fairly decent speed. It simply requires a bit more effort on her part, but one would never catch her complaining about her limp. Anyway, she reaches the cafeteria in good time, and spots Rick, with a group of others. Her first instinct, naturally, is to go and sit with him.

So, she does, smiling at her half-brother whilst quietly slipping into a seat at the far right, so that she can hear people in her good ear, "I'm surprised you're not the one a bit deaf, considering how loud you listen to your music." She says this in jest, naturally. Somewhat in the distance, Poppy notices Cyrus and smiles at him, waving hello.

Lana glanced up at Clara before a smile of her own filled her face. It was a smile that to most would look normal. However Clara would know it all too well. It was a smile that said I'm still pretty and you lose. She looked Clara up and down before reaching in her tote, and pulling out a tan form fitting skirt. She glanced at Clara again and sighed, almost apologetically " Listen I know that you might get..lonely but I highly doubt that chickens are allowed here. I woud reckomend eating outside where animals belong next time" Her voice was laced with honey and seemed almost sugary sweet but she knew that they would piss Clara off even more than a insult.

Alana leaned down under the table and pulled off the shorts by the side and slipping on her skirt. "I guess I should thank you I forgot how good my body looked in this. " She stood up and spun around " Hey Eddie, don't you think my body loks great in this?" She asked him with a flirty look in her eye. She knew that Eddie couldn't tell her no. She also, as she suddenly remembered as she turned her full attention to him, could really go for a makeout session with him. She bit her lip in anticipation before handing Clara her chicken and dangling her shorts by one finger. " I'lll just inform the school that they can charge my dry cleaning to you. That way we can let this all go" She quickly pulled out her phone.
To: Ariel
Clara just had her chicken poop on the shorts we bought together

She then altogether ignored Clara and directed her attention to Eddie and Rose, knowing her shirt was substancially tighter showing off her impressive bust and her naturally flawless curves. "So I feel we should do something naughty. I want to start this year with a boom. A hot, fun, naughty boom. And you two " She said motioning to them, her voice all husky and hot. Her voice tended to change depending on her emotions. When she was neutral is mas clear and direct, when she was angry it was honey sweet with a frightening under tone, when she was flirty it was cute and innocent, when she was mischievious, it was hot and she annnunciated all her words.

She walked over behind Eddies chair and draped her arms down his chest. She got close to his ear and said " Or we could just have a hot fun party and save the naughty for a private party later" She then stood to the front of the table " Ok so you two get to it because that is your specialty." She ran over and engulfed Rose in a hug. " Aaaah yes brilliant." She said with a giggle.

It was easy to let time run away with you down at the lake. Amelia found herself idly standing at the end of the dock, her thoughts drifting from the approaching day of classes to the evenings game of Capture the Flag. Eventually, with a growl from her stomach, she snapped out of her daze. It was time for breakfast. Amelia turned and began the walk back to the main buildings. She couldn't help but take her time, enjoying the fresh air and the sound of the wind running through the trees that bordered the lake. Eventually she found herself facing the dorms again. She took a quick look at her watch and decided it would be best to grab her books and bag before heading to the cafeteria.

Amelia pushed open the heavy bronze doors and stepped into her dormitory. Inside the foyer the ceiling was a mixture of clear blue sky and dark grey clouds streaked with lightning. Zeus' statue was still attempting to strike down intruders with the fierce canoe paddle. Amelia gave the statue of her father a small smile before continuing on. She was both glad and frustrated at being greeted with his image every time she entered the dormitory. It reminded her both of the many times her father had been absent from her life and of the pride she felt in being his daughter. Yes, two very contradicting thoughts. It sometimes helped her first thought when she found him carrying some strange object. Not that she would admit as much to the trouble maker who had put it there.

Continuing up to her room Amelia quickly gathered the small collection of books she would need today. As it was the first day and her first class was Power Control, she actually only needed the books for her second period class, Chemistry. Tucking the books under her arm she quickly left her room and made her way back outside. She decided to take a short cut to the cafeteria instead of following the path around the dormitories. Her path led her through a small, well tended garden and around the back of the dorms. As Amelia came in sight of the cafeteria she noticed a small group of students a few steps away sitting under a tree. Amelia immediately recognised Ariel and, as if sensing the sudden animosity in the air, Ariel raised her head. The two made eye contact and before Amelia could leave, Ariel gave her an icy smile while her eyes quickly scanned Amelia's outfit, "You would think that the daughter of the Lord of the Sky would be able to afford better clothes." Ariel sneered, her words clear and easily carrying over to Amelia, "But perhaps she's too busy trying to befriend everyone and sticking her nose in everyone's business to worry about her clothes." .
Amelia was used to Ariel's barbed comments, but that still didn't stop the small flush of anger that appeared. "At least I don't have to resort to manipulation to make friends or to get what I want." Amelia replied. She glanced at the two sitting with Ariel, Elinor and Camden. She wasn't surprised to find either sitting with Ariel. None of them were people that Ameila particularly cared for. Before Ariel could respond Amelia took her leave, wanting to put as much distance between the daughter of Aphrodite and herself as possible.

Entering the cafeteria a moment later Amelia headed for the food, pushing her small interaction with Ariel to the back of her mind. She always hated her run ins with Ariel, mainly because she was never sure what emotions were truly hers and what had been manipulated by Ariel. Taking a deep breath Amelia let herself calm down. She picked out food for breakfast; yoghurt, muesli and bananas, and then turned to face the cafeteria. The first table to catch her eye was Eddie's. Seated around it were people that she was on fairly good terms with, although some of their actions were at times questionable. Amelia was a sociable person, but even she could tell that the table was too crowded already. So, she quickly shifted her attention and fell on a table with only two occupants.
"Hope you don't mind me joining you." Amelia said to Simon and Max as she slid into a seat beside the two, "Things look pretty intense over there." She added, glancing over at Eddie's table again. Alana was in the process of draping herself over Eddie, something that the boy didn't seem too upset about. Amelia spotted Cyrus sitting amongst the group and she smiled over at him, happy to see him in a group rather than by himself.

Kyle was sitting in the library, his head stuck in a book. He hadn't been able to fall asleep so he went to the library at 5:30 am and he'd been reading The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald ever since. Kyle was nearing the end of the book but he didn't want to go to class. He'd always hated school and he really wasn't friends with anyone besides Simon and Elinor but Elinor was in high school and Simon... Well he wasn't Elinor. Ever since Kyle had first met Elinor, he'd felt a strong attraction to her. He knew it was wrong because he was 19 and she was only 17 but the age difference made him want her even more.

Finally Kyle finished the book. He closed it and fitted it into it's proper place on the shelf. He knew he should eat but he didn't feel like it. He knew he'd pay for it later but oh well. Kyle made his way out of the Library and looked around. The soon was rising higher into the sky and it was a beautiful day. Kyle didn't know where he was going until he saw Elinor, Camden and Ariel sitting under a tree, eating their lunch..

Kyle walked up and waved at the group. "Hey." he smiled, sitting on the grass next to Elinor and Camden. Kyle fidgeted with his hands. He'd never been a good conversationalist and he didn't know what to talk about. He looked around nervously and bit his lip. "So how is everyone doing this fine morning?" he said. He mentally smacked himself. Way to look cool in front of Elinor.

"Gorgeous dress, I might have to borrow it sometime."

Elinor glanced up at the sound of Ariel’s voice and grinned approvingly at the girl who was one of her closest friends. It was a definite sign of approval if Ariel thought Elinor’s dress was nice enough to want to borrow. It was well known that the children of Aphrodite were very particular about their appearance, which Elle could definitely identify with. “Mi casa es su casa, although I suppose you can substitute closet for casa.” She answered with a shrug of her slight shoulder as she daintily ate a section of her orange.

“So how did the party go? I skipped out early. Any fistfights, breakups or babies born in the bathroom I should know about?” Elinor asked with an air of exaggerated drama, she could only hope that something interesting would happen around here and it’d probably be just her luck that she’d miss out on it. So instead of waiting around for something, anything to happen, she went out and made it happen on her own. Excitement was a commodity that she traded highly in.

Catching sight of Camden she smiled and waved in greeting, happy to be surrounded by people she enjoyed. Elinor always preferred the company of others to being alone and Camden and Ariel were like minded people so it made sense that they would gravitate towards each other. Speaking of people she gravitated towards, here was one that repelled her. The tiny troublemaker watched as Amelia appeared apparently on her way to the cafeteria. She wondered if the daughter of Zeus had even cracked a smile at her father’s likeness prepared for a day on the lake.

A sly smile spread across the blonde’s face as she listened to her friend mock Amelia. While Elinor didn’t care for Amelia, Ariel detested her. It was actually quite entertaining. Listening to Amelia self-righteously denounce Ariel’s nature as “manipulative” Elinor laughed loudly in spite of herself and clamped a hand over her own mouth, blue eyes full of mirth. “She says that as if it’s bad. Poor thing.” Elinor reflected pityingly while shaking her head as she dropped her hand back to her lap. “All those pesky morals equate to a giant stick up her...Hey, Kyle.“

Cutting herself off, Elinor put Amelia out of her mind and flashed the new arrival one of her winning smiles. She’d only recently met Kyle as he was fairly new, and therefore quite an interested subject for the youngest daughter of Hermes. Elle, ever the observer took note of his fidgeting hands and bitten lip and felt a bolt of attraction, similar to the shock the statue had given her earlier but a lot less painful. Tossing her golden hair over one of her bare shoulders Elinor lifted her hand to her mouth and absently sucked the sweet stickiness of the orange from the tip of her thumb before answering Kyle.

“Perfectly perfect. I think we were just talking about the party last night.” Elinor replied, glancing from Ariel to Camden, deciding not to mention the little interlude with Amelia. Much to Elle’s surprise people actually liked the girl. Shifting slightly she turned towards Kyle as if she were fixing her whole attention upon him. “I didn’t see you around, better things to do?” A feline grin spreading across her face, letting him know she was only teasing.

Image“I know not all that may be coming, but be it what it will, I'll go to it laughing.” In the loneliness of his room he read the words allowed with a smirk before shutting the book and setting it down. Moby-Dick; or, The Whale was undoubtedly one of his favorite books for one reason: it teaches that revenge only hurts you in the end. He finds it funny how the captain tried so hard to hurt a creature, something not even conscious of its actions.

Though the book was good he was done thinking about it for now, it was time to start a new school day, time to get ready for his studies, and time to leave his room. Leslie had been up for hours, he had gotten ready early, finished early, and could just simply just leave the way he was. In his own opinion he looked nice in his black tux and combed over bangs, his opinion was the only one that truly mattered though.

Leslie had never been asleep. It wasn't from nerves or excitement that school was beginning to start again, it was just because he hadn't taken his medication, it seemed that it had just slipped his mind. He had been studying a lot lately, reading, and exercising so much lately that he didn't even remember to take it, he didn't even remember to eat; he never ate often anyways. Even though he hadn't slept he really wasn't tired, maybe because he was use to the nights he hadn't slept as a kid. Regardless the fact of him sleeping or not it didn't seem to show to show much, it didn't affect the way he acted in the slightest. The only clue that he was lacking sleep was the faint blue and purple tints under his eyes, they may have been faint, but they still lingered their with discoloration. At one point they had been puffy, but holding a warm paper towel to them quickly took the bumps away. Better to sleep with a sober cannibal than a drunk Christian. Though the quote from the book near him didn't really fit his situation it still rang through his brain as he picked it up and placed it away into a drawer.

Hearing chatter outside his door reminded him that other people were awake now and he could leave his room without disturbing others. Breakfast. The thought made him sick, he hated food so much to the point that he almost throw up every time he smelled it. He had problems with food, which he kept to himself. Moving to the door he opened it, knowing he would head down near the dining hall and having to smell such horrible aromas.

Walking outside he stopped in his tracks when he had her a girl speak, "At least I don't have to resort to manipulation to make friends or to get what I want." “She says that as if it’s bad. Poor thing.” As he watched Amelia walk away he kind of cast a rather emotionless stare towards Elinor, "Perhaps because it is a bad thing." Taking steps closer to the group he looked over them, only seeing one he could stomach, his best friend. Seeing him he mustered up a faction of a smile. "Good morning, Camden." Glancing around the rest of the group he would have frowned if they were worth the facial strain. "Always surrounding yourself with these people." His voice took on a softer tone as he took a seat next to his friend. As he sat next to Camden someone had opened up the cafeteria door, causing the smell of food trail it's way to Leslie. He could have gagged, he almost did, but he was able to subside the wave of sickly feelings that were now flowing his way. "Why do you sit so close to the dining hall?" Moving would have been the best answer for him, he wouldn't do it though, he could control his discomfort as long as he needed to.

"Morning," Gwen announced, softly, curled on top of her bed's covers. She peered through the curtains of the Hades dorm, at the sunlight struggling to pierce through the heavy, velveteen cloth, and lifted a hand to drag them back. The ghosts that tended to haunt her at sun-down had been particularly nasty last night, moaning stories of death by drowning, fire, murder, poison, and asking her for a second chance at life--as if she could actually give such a thing. She hadn't slept at all and their cold, barely-there fingers and her sleeplessness had left her with a dull, cold ache that seemed to emanate from deep within her bones, accompanying the more natural, throbbing ache of her muscles from her dancing at last night's party.

Gwen moved to stand, swinging one leg after the other off the bed. Her bare foot brushed momentarily against the smooth, icy marble floor, before encountering something sharp that pricked at her toe. She frowned and bent down to examine the pointy, metallic object. Her frown only deepened when she recognized it as an earring, delicately crafted out of fine gold wire and bent into the shape of a heart in order to frame and hold a similarly-shaped rose-colored gem. She sighed. It most likely belonged to one of the daughters of Aphrodite. Most of her fellow demigods knew not to leave stray bits of jewelry or metalwork out anymore, but it seemed that a certain daughter of Aphrodite had left her jewelry-box open this morning. A quick look under her bed revealed another gold earring, completing the set, and a fine layer of metallic dust that might've escaped from the academy's forge. Gwen had arrived at the Academy a week prior to the first day of class and, already, bits of metal close to the earth's surface had begun to crop up in the surrounding area, easily found by shifting thin layers of soil aside. The sons and daughters of Hephaestus were probably ecstatic.

Gwen set both earrings on her dresser table and entered the bathroom for a warm shower. After returning from it, she exchanged the simple dress she'd worn to last night's party for a white lace sweater and capris. She slipped the earrings into the pants' side-pocket, planning on returning them to their owner, retrieved her bag from the corner of the room, and stepped out into the hall of the Hades dorm.

The dorm was already completely vacant: her half-siblings all seemed to be early risers, waking and slipping away at dusk. She felt a mixture of disappointment and relief at this. Some of her half-siblings were more than a little annoying, what with their constant attempts at provoking her, but others were rather comforting, offering her a sense of connection and quiet companionship. She stepped through the hallway quickly. The Hades dorm, unlike the other dorms, always seemed to give off an air of oppression to Gwen. The place was made out of cold, dark marble and filled with looming shadows and illusions of gems and bones and, while pranks were constantly played on the other dorms' statues, no one ever dared to take Hades's dident or Helm of Darkness. She skirted around her father's statue, throwing it a lingering, dark stare full of deep dislike and blame before exiting the dorm.

Possibly because of her fatigue, the walk to the cafeteria was longer than she remembered. Her limbs felt heavy and drowsy and she wondered if she could possibly forgo breakfast and simply get a cup of tea or coffee before going to find a nice place to nap instead. Spotting Ariel sitting with Camden and Elinor underneath a tree, Gwen made the unpleasant observation that the gold jewelry Ariel wore bore a heavy resemblance to the set of earrings in her pocket. Camden and Ariel were a well-matched duo, as far as Gwen could tell. Both were far too manipulative for her liking and she avoided both as often as possible. Her mouth formed a straight-lined grimace in distaste at her predicament, and, without much ceremony, she brought out the earrings and walked up to Ariel.

"Yours?" Gwen asked, arching an eyebrow in question.

Poppy smiled back at Rosie, and nodded, still smiling, towards Eddie, returning the two students' brief greetings. She isn't particularly close to them, acquaintances more like, but the two strike her as nice enough, and she has no problem with greeting them, naturally. Besides, she is semi-distracted by scooting to the side to let Cyrus into the table. The girl is glad he's joining them- the son of Athena sits alone often, she observes, and it would do him some good to be drawn as far away from his evil half-brother, Camden, as possible.

Alana then proceeds to take the attention of the table, rather typical of a daughter of Aphrodite, and Poppy looks away in a semi-awkward manner. She has no problem with Alana's forwardness, of course, but there seems to be this slick aspect to it that she doesn't mesh well with. Alana is Rick's friend, perhaps, but not Poppy's, really. Of course, Rick proceeds to break into a fit of laughter over the white splotch that had been on Alana's shorts. The two half-siblings are similar, perhaps, in the way that they laugh. In this case, Poppy merely smiles a bit, not finding it quite as funny as Rick, though still relatively amusing.

When Jason walks over and hands Alana a box, Poppy eyes it curiously. It's certainly familiar, and she can place it as having been in the cabin forge at some point. Of course, she had never asked about it, and therefore doesn't know its purpose. The glint in Jason's eye can give her a couple of pretty decent guesses, however. Maybe a stink bomb, a rat, something that reaches out and chops off someone's hair- the possibilities are nearly endless, if it had been a collaboration between Rick and the Brooks twins, which Poppy suspects it was.

The daughter of Hephaestus remains content to watch everything in silence, though she can't help but give Cyrus a curious look when he mentions Jordan to Alana. It's something she's sort of noticed, but not being close with the Brooks or Alana, hasn't really cared to become involved with. In fact, she's somewhat surprised that Cyrus is choosing to make any sort of intervention regarding it. She's friendly with him, but perhaps doesn't know him well enough to make such predictions regarding his behavior. And, anyway, Poppy works better at figuring out machines than people. "Class is starting soon, isn't it?" she observes, voice at a normal volume. She may not be particularly loquacious, but nor is she soft-spoken.

Fairly soon after his arrival to the group, Amelia, aka Miss "Holier than thou" passes by. Ariel doesn't miss the chance to make a snide comment, which is to be expected given the hardly subtle hostility that always crackles between the two of them. Amelia's retort is, of course, somewhat pathetic to all who witness it- which would mean Ariel's friends, of course, making the group a bit biased. Camden raises an eyebrow, agreeing with Elinor's observations about what can only be called Naivete on Amelia's part. "She's just a bundle of joy in the morning," he adds, sarcasm clearly signalling agreement with Elinor's remarks. The daughter of Zeus is undeniably powerful, and competent, but there is this naive aspect to her which Camden rather dislikes. This sense of self-righteous moral superiority, or something along those lines. It's just irritating, really- and that's coming from Camden, perhaps the most arrogant child of Athena, an infamously proud goddess.

The group is added to by the arrival of Kyle, the son of Demeter with a rather obvious crush on Elinor, despite the fact that their age gap leads to them not attending the same school divisions. Honestly, Camden finds Kyle a bit annoying, and the fact that plenty of people have labeled him as creepy does little to help this negative opinion of the seemingly introverted boy. Something about him just screams would-be-stalker, and Camden, naturally, looks down upon the boy. Still, he doesn't say anything. Not explicitly, enough. A brief look of disdain sends clear enough a message. He really doesn't understand what Elinor, a perfectly intelligent girl by all means, sees in the awkward, fidgeting thing.

He is happily distracted by Leslie who, despite having much stricter morals and clear dislike for most of Camden's other friends, is the son of Athena's closest friend. He is, in fact, the only one who has heard even a whisper about Camden's life outside of the academy- certainly the only to know anything about his mildly abusive father, who makes Camden seem like a humble little lamb in comparison.

"Morning, Leslie. How uncharacteristically judgmental of you," Camden shoots back teasingly. The two are equally proud, and nearly as equal regarding their tendency to judge other people. He watches as Leslie sits beside him, noting the fact that his expression seems strained. He can guess why, and is quickly confirmed when Leslie mutters something about sitting so close to the Dining Hall. "We can move, if you like. Class'll be starting soon, anyway," Camden responds, standing up. Leslie is perhaps the only person he cares about enough to be willing to move for the sake of.

Eddie had to say that he appreciated Alana's way of dealing with a little *ahem* chicken shit. Instead of getting into a huff, she leaned down and changed from her spoiled shorts to a skirt. "Hey Eddie, don't you think my body looks great in this?" Alana asked, casting a flirty look towards Eddie. Eddie nodded, he wasn't about to deny that.
"Best legs in the school." He replied with a grin and a wink, enjoying the way that Lana was looking at him. He always enjoyed flirting with the Daughter of Aphrodite.
"So I feel we should do something naughty. I want to start this year with a boom. A hot, fun, naughty boom. And you two." Alana said. Eddie raised an eyebrow, wondering what she had in mind. His eyes followed the blonde and she got up and walked over to Eddie, draping her arms down his shoulders. No doubt about it, this was the life. Eddie felt a pleased smile appear on his face, no doubt he looked like some love struck teen, but that was the effect Alana usually had on people. "Or we could just have a hot fun party and save the naughty for a private party later." She breathed into her ear. untangling herself from Eddie, Alana then proceeded to hug Rose before ordering the Dionysus siblings to get to making a party.

It was as Eddie was opening his mouth to reply that Jason popped over, greeting the table as he gave Alana a box and warned her not to open it right then. It was a curious gift, but Eddie shrugged, surely people gave Alana gifts all the time. He once again prepared to reply to his friends when again Eddie's attention was drawn away from Alana, this time to Cyrus who had quietly sat down with the group, or at least Eddie had to assume so. He hadn't actually noticed Athena's son until Cyrus had spoken up. Then again he had a perfectly good excuse given that his attention had been held by Alana. "Alana... I know this is the way you are, but Jordan has a huge crush on you. You are in the position to break his heart in a million pieces. So, don't toy with him,"
Eddie glanced from Alana to Cyrus and then over towards the Apollo twins with a questioning glance. From Eddie's perspective his and Alana's flirting was rather innocent flirting. He had hardly been offended when Alana placed herself on Jordan's lap, but perhaps Jordan's feelings were more than his own. His own took more of a friendly inclination, although he never missed an opportunity to playfully flirt with her. It was as he was thinking these thoughts that Poppy spoke, reminding the table that classes would be starting soon. Eddie nodded, "Yeah, and unfortunately I promised Amelia that I'd attend class today." Eddie said, aiming his words at Alana, "Might have to postpone being naughty until after class." He added giving Alana a wink.

As Amelia sat at the table she was greeting with warm welcomes from Max and Simon. Simon grinning and indicating an empty seat.
"Of course not... I hadn't even noticed, I was completely captivated by Simon." Max replied, glancing momentarily at the louder group before back at Simon. Amelia hid a smile at his words and obvious affected for the other boy by taking a bite of food.
“Some might call it intense, others lunacy, but you have to admit they’re quite entertaining. They even have their own livestock, and which of us can say that?” Simon added, even chuckling as he glanced over to the other table.
"Undeniably the most entertaining thing I've seen this morning." Amelia agreed, raising an eyebrow as Alana's request for some 'naughty fun' drifted across the room. Amelia may have been on friendly terms with Alana (rather a surprise given Amelia's enmity with Alana's sister), but that didn't mean that she agreed with everything that the girl did or said. Of course, she doubted Eddie would mind Alana's forwardness or request for fun. Stifling a laugh Amelia turned her attention back to her own table.

"Are you both looking forward to classes?" She asked, knowing that both Max and Simon were in the university division of the Academy with her. "I think we have Power Control first." She added. Amelia rather enjoyed Power training. For one thing it took place at the training fields, which being outside were a lot more enjoyable to the indoor classrooms. She also liked that here the students were free to use their powers. While she might not be allowed to call up huge storms, she was allowed to create lightning without fear of being reprimanded for it. Besides, it would be a good warm up for when the played Capture the Flag later. Amelia glanced up at the large analogue clock that hung in the cafeteria, checking the time. Classes weren't far off starting, she should have time to finish eating and then she would make her way to the training zone.

It was only shortly after Ariel had joined Elinor under the tree that Camden joined them, greeting the two girls with a wave and smile, "Good morning Elinor, Ariel."
"Morning Cam." Ariel replied, gifting him with one of her more genuine smiles. It wasn't long after Cam's arrival that Amelia wondered past the group. Ariel couldn't help but make some comment about the girl, the two had been at each other's throats since Ariel's first week after all. Luckily, Ariel felt especially secure at the moment considering she was surrounded by friends who didn't have a particular fondness for Amelia either. “She says that as if it’s bad. Poor thing.” Elinor said, responding to Amelia's remark about manipulation, “All those pesky morals equate to a giant stick up her...Hey, Kyle.“ Ariel smirked at Elinor's agreement before nodding a greeting at Kyle. The two were on friendly terms, but Ariel knew that Kyle was someone easily manipulated so friendly only went so far as she could use him.
"She's just a bundle of joy in the morning," Camden added, his statement thick with sarcasm.

However not everyone seemed to agree with their sentiments. An unwelcome voice chimed in a moment later, "Perhaps because it is a bad thing." . Ariel frowned slightly as Leslie joined the small group, he was hardly her favourite person and in fact he only seemed to be on friendly terms with one of their party, Camden. Indeed, Camden was the only one he greeted or even acknowledged after his first sentence. "Good morning, Camden... Always surrounding yourself with these people."
Ariel's eyebrows shot up at that, "And yet you still take a seat with us, uninvited I might add." Ariel replied to the boy, even if Leslie's words weren't meant for her. She had to question him somewhat, why would he sit with them if he despised most of those there?

However Ariel was saved from having to consider Leslie for any longer by the sudden appearance of his half-sister. The quiet girl was holding out a pair of heavy gold earrings, "Yours?" . Ariel glanced from the earrings, which she immediately recognised as her own, to the girl holding them out for her. "Still can't control your power, can you?" Ariel said, her tone falsely sweet and caring. She even favoured Gwen with a small smile as she took her earrings back, "Or have you taken up thievery?" Her smile changed from friendly to a sneer and her voice took on a biting tone. Of course, Ariel knew of Gwen's powers and knew it had probably been them that dragged her earrings from her jewellery box, but that was hardly the point. Ariel usually either completely ignored Gwen, or simply cast judgemental looks at her. She rarely went out of her way to harass the girl, only now doing so because Gwen was there. Indeed, Ariel didn't even attempt to use her powers to intimidate Gwen, what was the point when Ariel simply didn't care?

Jason grabs his glasses, taking his contacts out gently and replacing them in their case carefully. He would have to wear them tonight for capture the flag, but why worry about that now when that wasn't until later? Jason looked at himself in the mirror, his glasses sitting on his nose and appearing slightly larger than his eyes. The black frames looked almost brown when compared to his messy hair making Jason smile. He grabbed the notebooks that he and his brother used for English as well as their bows and quivers, swinging them over his shoulder. They'd have weapons training after English, might as well just take the weapons with them. It wasn't as if the teacher didn't have a weapon too.

As Jason walked back outside towards the cafeteria to dump Jordan's stuff off, he rubbed his eyes. They still felt uncomfortable and irritated from the stupid contacts. If only it was Jordan who had the issue with it. Jason could have fixed the pain and neither of them would have a problem with it. Jordan was probably ticked that Jason wasn't feeling better even with his glasses. As he turned around the corner, he spotted a group of his least favorite people. Possibly on the planet. Great. Jason didn't recognize who Ariel was taunting, but he knew for sure that they didn't deserve to be accused of stealing.

Moving forward, Jason stops right behind the girl, recognizing the white hair but knowing it was already too late to turn around and say nothing. It already looked awkward enough and if he didn't speak, it would be just downright awkward. "Hey, Ariel, come on. Grow up, nobody deserves to be accused of something," Jason says, rather annoyed that the miss. priss was acting in such a manor. Sure, Jason wasn't always extremely nice either, examples being with Alana, but at least he didn't insult people unless they deserve it, examples being Ariel.

Jason looks at Camden and was about to make a comment before shaking his head, not even sure what to say. "You know it's not something Gwen controls so you might as well not bother being a total, excuse me, but b*tch," Jason says with a smile that wasn't really happy so match as annoyed.

He didn't know why he hadn't just walked by, didn't pause, ignored people he didn't have anything to do with. Then remembered that he had a sort of buzz after messing with Alana and probably was willing to try and make things even more exciting for him and step in. What an idiot he could be. Jason wasn't upset he stood up for Gwen, but he wanted t get out of there as fast as possible. Gwen wasn't bad necessarily, but they didn't have anything in common, and she was a daughter of Hades... Something that Jason couldn't stand considering what had happened once in his past, something that Jordan and he never spoke of for fear that someone would hear, would accuse them, would hate them.

"Just another morning at demigod academy."

Cyrus frowned slightly as Alana seemed to ignore his comment. At least Eddie had reacted, though he seemed more confused by it than anything. He couldn't guess what he was thinking, but he probably wouldn't refrain from flirting with Alana with Jordan in the room. At Poppy's mention of classes, he nodded in agreement. He would rather not be at the table should Alana open up the box Jason gave him.
Whatever it was, Cyrus did not imagine for a moment that it would be pleasant. If he had to guess, it was meant to be a message for Alana to stay away from his brother. Cyrus couldn't fault Jason with trying to protect his twin, though he wasn't sure if Alana would see it as anything other than Jason pranking her for no reason.

"Let's go... Perhaps we should go remind the others," Cyrus noted, watching as Amelia sat next to Simon and Max. He rather liked Simon. The son of Hades was an interesting person once one got to know him and Max seemed decent enough. However, he frowned when he caught sight of Ariel speaking with Gwen. Judging from her body language, Gwen didn't look to be enjoying the conversation.

"I hope you improved your powers over the summer, Rose," Cy stated, smiling slightly at his friend. She truly lit up whatever room she was in. Simon was lucky that he held her affections. He turned quickly, hoping Alana did not sense any remnants of his old crush on Rose. He did not need to deal with that. Particularly, he noted, when he noticed he had a small attraction towards many of his peers, which was quite silly and not something he needed anyone knowing.

He stood up and walked towards Gwen, giving Ariel a polite smile and nodding at his brother before turning to the Gwen, "Good morning, Gwen. I was just looking for you. I'd like your help in finding an old harddrive I need to bring into class today. As you may or may not know, it is partly made of silver like many other electronics so it should be quite easy for you."

It was an obvious lie, but it was an excuse for Gwen to leave the others. It was a pity Gwen did not have Power classes with him. Her powers would be fascinating to compare and contrast with Simon's.

“You are definitely my favorite chicken now.”

Then again, Mr. Bock was her only chicken, but even so, after having used the Aphrodite child as its bathroom, Clara was going to upgrade the chicken’s name to Super Bock. Practically diving to grab the chicken from the Barbie that was definitely creepily smiling at her, she was sure even her chicken was happy to be rid of the blonde that she didn’t think was too happy with her chicken… Or her.

“C! Glad you’re on board because this is going to be awesome,” with that, her attention was momentarily directed toward the Hephaestus child on the side. “Whatever it is, it will have to wait until..” She gave Rick a meaningful look, flickering her eyes toward the direction of Alana. She’ll have to take care of the mess her chicken has created for the morning.

”Listen I know that you might get… lonely but I highly doubt that chickens are allowed here. I would recommend eating outside where animals belong next time.” Wow. Talk about Ms. Bitchy. Clara had to shake her head, having put the chicken in her lap as she sat down at the table again, picking up the muffin from her entire tray of food. She had already caught a sight of the child of Zeus, Amelia, on the side and was hoping to her own father that the rule-enforcer was not going to say anything about her new friend. Even through Alana's insult, Clara was never one for a full-on verbal fight, and thus simply ate her muffin listening to the conversations of others, attempting to block out the Aphrodite child that practically changed in an entire cafeteria of students. Whatever the girl said to her, she was going to get her back with different methods afterwards. “I guess I should thank you I forgot how good my body looked in this.” With that, Clara had the piece of her muffin go down the wrong pipe, going into a coughing fit just as Rick was doing on the side, but her from over-exasperation.

“I think Super Bock would look better in that than you. Wouldn’t you say so, Super Bock?” She was getting rather fond of the chicken, actually attempting to speak to it. A “bock” from the chicken was interpreted as an agreement by her, who chuckled slightly at the Barbie in front of her that went back to her flirting, seeing her take out her phone. “Mm. Let me guess. Calling reinforcement from Barbie Number 2?” She could practically guess what the text was about, and she was getting out of there in case Barbie Number 2 decided to pay the cafeteria a visit also.

“Whatever you’re planning, Rick. Find me in… Poultry Science.” She had literally just remembered what she had randomly chosen for her major for the year, giving a wave toward the Hephaestus child she could see was also leaving. “Well, Super Bock, looks like you’ll be with me for the day. She was definitely going to try and convince her teachers that to do well in Poultry Science you actually needed… Experience? Even so. Super Bock was going to make a nice addition as her partner in crime.

With light steps, it didn't take her long to walk across the campus, catching sight of the different people walking through, taking notes of which possessions she was going to get her hands on soon afterwards. And it also didn't take long for her to catch the sight of her own half-sister... Cuddling up to Barbie Number 2. And. Walking away.. No matter how much she cared for her sister, she was still going to keep out of sight of the other Barbie. She has probably pissed over one too many for the day.

"Just you and me, Super Bock. This is exactly why she was taking too much delight in her new friend. It didn't disagree with her or argue with her. At least, not to her interpretations.

Gwen's response to Ariel's taunt, like her response to many things in life, had been silence. This, right here, was the main reason why she disliked people like Ariel. Manipulative, prone to casting their words about like a careless whip that stung wherever it landed, taking joy when what they said succeeded in brushing up against an old wound. She had encountered too many people like Ariel in her seventeen years of life--her own family was full of them. And, if you deigned to parley with them and join in in their puppeteer games, you were either victim or perpetrator of yet another manipulation, inflictor of yet another wound. Her encounters with such people had left her weary and wordless.
So, Gwen kept her silence. The only way to avoid participating in a word-game was to not have words at all.
Of course, in Gwen's case, she didn't need words to express herself. Her face, as always, gave it away too easily. The look in her dark eyes was that of a person recoiling backwards, building up walls. The firm line that her mouth formed was a little tenser. And she could hear the earth's hum, a little louder than usual and also tenser, like a reverberating note emerging from a bass string, pulled taut and almost ready to snap. The ground seemed to shift and creak impatiently underneath her feet, ready to give way. If Ambrose, her ancestral ghost and nightly visitor, were here, he would have clamored at this and urged her on with frantic whispers in her ear. He would've told her to let go of the taut string, to let it snap and bring whatever destruction it may. However, she would not do so. Such a taunt was painful, yes, but she could bear it. She would bear it. She refused to give Ariel the satisfaction of proving her right, of proving that she wasn't able to control her powers.

She straightened herself slowly, carefully, and eased the taut string that was her power back. Silence. Calm. Peace. It was what she craved-needed-above all else right now. She shook her head slowly, staring at Ariel.

"Don't-" was all Gwen had a chance to state before she heard a voice behind her. She turned and eyed Jason in surprise, one eyebrow raised rather quizzically at his behavior. The son of Apollo and his twin brother usually didn't seem to be very fond of the children of Hades: they were constantly attempting to dodge her, always leaving a large space between where they were and where she was whenever they were confined to the same room for class. She had a vague idea that it had something to do with her father himself, considering that they seemed to be generally friendly and humorous people. She wondered to herself whether or not clarifying that Hades was god of the dead, who merely judged and ruled over those who were already deceased, and not the god of death itself would help matters.

Gwen was jolted from her thoughts by Cyrus's arrival. She listened to his request, her mouth quirking up on a little in amusement, fully aware of the all-too-obvious actual purpose behind it. She gave him a gentle push, calling him out on his true motive and displaying her slight annoyance at having to receive so much help. Still, at such a time, she couldn't help also being glad for it: it meant that she wasn't entirely alone. "Hmm...time for a quick coffee?" she asked him, heading back towards the path leading to the cafeteria.

She paused for a moment and turned back. "Thank you," she said, addressing both Jason and Cyrus. The tension had finally seemed to fade out of her body, leaving her to listen to the steady, calmer hum of the earth and enjoy the warmth of the sun on her skin. Gwen smiled at them, warmly, suddenly, as she always did.

If there was one thing Alana hated it was being guilted. Between Cyrus, Jason, and the othe membes of the group, she was feeling seriously trapped. She took the box that Jason gave her and studied it closely. She knew Jodan and Jordan wouldn't give her this. He gave her stuff all the time. She loved the stuff he made. It decorated her room at the dorm and at home. But she slid it in her purse anyway. She heard Cyrus's comment and quitly said. "If I was a good person I would let him go.". She ran her hands through her hair and began drowning out conversations. She heard what Eddie said and smiled at him but no longer felt like flirting. She felt like she wanted a hug and if she was honest she wanted it from one of two people: Ariel or Jordan.

She stood, brushed her skirt, and flashed everyone a charming smile before looking at rose and saying "K babe, I'm going to walk Ariel to class but I'll see you in class right. Wanna meet there?" She waited until her back was turned to al of them before biting her lip. A rare sign of nervousness in her case.

She walked over to Ariel just in time to hear what Jason said. She held in a hiss as he and Gwen walked by. Once she stood in front of Ariels group she fowned "Who the hell did he think he was talking to?" She said. A rare instance, since of all the descendants of Aphrodite she wa the best at charm speak and keeping up a charming demeanor. Alana was a rare instance since she used her powers all the time. She recovered and started egngaging her powers again but even with her blonde hair was blowing around her, her tan skin glowing, and curves evident it was obvious she was unsettled. Even with the sigh of perfection in front of them she knew Ariel would be able to tell something was wrong. Call it sisters intuition or blame it on the fact that they were not just sisters but best friends as well. "Hey I'll walk you to class. " She said sliding her bag strap up her shoulders "Wait until I tell you what Claras latest scheme was. Hint, it involves those absolutely gorgeous tweed shorts we picked out together." She nodded solemnly.

Kyle smiled. "Thats great." he murmured. Kyle glanced around anxiously. He'd never gotten used to being around more than 1 person at a time. Never had he talked as a group, unless you counted class. "I had no interest attending the party." Kyle sighed, answering her question. To tell the truth, Kyle had never attended a party. Kyle watched as another figure approached the group. Upon closer inspection, he discovered it was Leslie. Kyle was distracted, looking around, when he heard Leslie say what sounded like an insult. "Always surrounding yourself with these people." he said. His tone was soft but something in his expression noted disgust, as if they weren't worth his time. "Leslie... Always a pleasure to see you." Kyle managed a fake smile of pleasure. He smiled at Ariel who shot a remark back at Leslie.

Next Kyle watched as Gwen Whitney walked up. She was talking to Ariel about a pair of earrings. He glanced at them and felt a pang of discomfort. He was just thinking how Demeter would love those. No, he hated her. She was never there for him so he would never think of her. But it was hard because Kyle found himself thinking about her and what she would do if she was actually in his life. Never in all of his nineteen years of life did he even meet her or talk to her. All he had was vague descriptions of her and his imagination.

Kyle looked up to see Jason standing behind Ariel. He eyed them closely before glancing away. All this company was making him feel uncomfortable. As more and more people came to visit, Kyle found it unbearable and adding to his headache this morning. "Elinor I'll see you later." he said, standing up and grabbing his bag, walking away briskly. He knew how most of them felt about him. They thought he was creepy, dumb, antisocial (which I guess was true) and generally Kyle wasn't liked very much. He knew they'd be happy to see him leave so the sooner the better, right?

Kyle found himself slightly chilly this morning. He wrapped himself in his arms and found himself walking to the large field. Out in the open, surrounded by nature, was one of the only places Kyle could find a sense of calm. When Kyle was younger, he'd spend hours in the field on his farm, trying to escape reality. You could never rely on friends to listen, but nature was there. He'd spill his thoughts all the time out there. He found a spot in the field and sat down. The grass was a bit damp here from the morning dew but he didn't mind. Kyle looked around. He could heart talking in the distance but it was a whisper to him here. Kyle let out a sigh when he remembered he'd forgotten to take his depression pills. He searched his bag and grabbed the container of pills but it was empty. Kyle held his head in his hands. He'd gone through days without having them before but it really affected his mood so he'd need them sooner or later.

Alaska rolled over in bed. Her eyes glanced at the clock and she nearly jumped out of bed. She'd woken up a lot later than she had planned. She didn't want to be late for the first day of senior year. Alaska slid out of bed and threw on her outfit for the day. She then went to work in front of her mirror, curling her eyelashes and applying a layer of mascara. She put on a coral lipstick and did a dark brown eyeshadow to compliment her eyes. she put on a bit of blush and she smiled. She wanted to impress Jason Brooks. Boy did she have a crush on him. Not only was he cute, he played the guitar too!

Alaska threw on a leather jacket and slipped on her favourite pair of Doc Martens. She'd have to be quick if she were going to make it to the cafeteria and get some breakfast. People would be in the middle of eating or finishing their breakfast by now. Alaska left the dorm and walked briskly to the Cafeteria. She saw some people gathered by the Cafeteria under a tree. She'd join them after she was done getting breakfast. She noticed a couple people... Camden, Ariel and Jordan. Alaska ducked into the Cafeteria and reappeared outside 5 minutes later with an Apple, a Yogurt, a Granola bar and a Bottle of Water.

She walked over to the group, trying to be quiet. She didn't know why but she wanted to surprise them. "Hey guys." she said, taking a bite out of her apple. She swallowed and continued, "How are you guys?" she asked.

Classes have started for the students.
The University students are currently in Power Control situated in the training courts.
The high school students are in either English or Maths class.

Image
Image

The class had started 15 minutes ago. The teacher, one Mr Frank Solomon, had first greeted the returning students warmly, obviously pleased to find the majority alive and relatively sane. His instructions had then been to enjoy the first day of classes. He had given them several options, each designed to help them get out of their holiday funk and get back into the swing of things. Set up at the further end of the training courts was a collection of targets and dummies, ranging in shapes and sizes. Some were stationary and some would move when in play. All offered a good place for students who wished to exercise control and train their precision with their powers. Closer to him, where he could watch and make sure that nobody went overboard, were the sparring areas. These were places where students could have mock fights against each other, using their powers to defeat their opponents. Of course, actually hurting anyone was against the rules, hence why Mr Solomon was hovering nearby. As usual for those not inclined to fighting, tables had been erected to the side to allow students, usually Athena and Hephaestus' children, to but their brains to the test. In between each area other students had come up with their own lesson plan, each stretching out their powers in their own way.

Amelia had been inclined to head down to the set up of dummies. There she, and the other students who had picked the moving targets, were busy decimating the Academy's population of stuffed targets. With a grin Amelia sent another sizzling bolt of lightning flying towards the dummy, reducing it to a smouldering heap of ash in seconds. Her hands were buzzing with miniature lightning bolts, the air around her seemed to be giving off a slightly static vibe and she couldn't help but smile. She sighted down the range again, threw her hands up in front of her and sent a flurry of lightning bolts flying towards a target set up halfway down the range. It exploded in an eruption of smoke and Amelia turned her attention to the next target. This one popped out of the ground on her left side, moving forward on it's mechanism. It was shaped like a mythical hall hound and ran low to the ground. Even so it didn't stand a chance as Amelia sent another bolt of lightning flying at it.

She took a step back from the moving targets, both to let her peers have a go and to catch her breath. Power control was undoubtedly one of Amelia's favourite classes. Where else was she able to use her gift without the fear of hurting another person? After all, lightning wasn't exactly the most pleasant thing to be hit with. She loved the feeling of it's power racing through her and had to resist going overboard. As she caught her breath, Amelia glanced around the courts. She spotted Eddie lounging on the sidelines and couldn't help but shake her head. She knew that his powers weren't really the active, fighting type. They were dangerous in their own way, or they could be if he trained them, but she understood his fear about losing control of them. Insanity wasn't something easy to control. But, he'd never learn how to if he simply sat and did nothing. With a shrug Amelia turned her attention back to the targets.

Ariel sat at the back of the Maths class, choosing to block out most of what Miss Francis, the teacher, was saying. Class was really not her thing. She would much rather be out socialising, or attending VIP events. Sitting here was not her idea of a good time. So instead of tuning into the lesson Ariel was staring at her nails, tapping each finger nail with her opposite hand and changing the colour with her powers. She had always been glad that her power over make-up extended to her nails. It meant that she always had the perfect nail colour and didn't have to spend money on the actual polish, not that money had ever been a problem for her. Ariel had just settled on a pastel green for one hand when she was jolted from her thoughts.

"Miss Lee, are you paying attention?" The teacher, Miss Francis asked across the silent room. Ariel glanced up from her hands to find Miss Francis staring at her, her arms folded across her chest and her own unpainted nails tapping quietly against her opposite arm. Ariel felt no fear towards the teacher. How could she when the woman was wearing a hideous floral dress matched with a pair of last seasons sandals? "No Miss. I was doing my nails." Ariel replied, smiling serenely at the woman. Miss Francis stared at Ariel, not quite sure how to react to the girl. It was obvious that she had never had Ariel as a student, or she would have let the comment go. As it was Miss Francis was willing to give Ariel a chance. She cleared her throat and pointed to a particular problem on the board, "Please Miss Lee, what is the answer to this problem?" Ariel cast a lazy look at the board. There was no way she could answer that. So instead she called on her favourite weapon, her powers. Subtly was the answer and Ariel had mastered that long ago. It was slightly harder at the Academy given that here powers were common place, but that didn't make it impossible. "I don't know Miss." Ariel replied clearly, giving Miss Francis her best smile. Then, with a mental push she thrust a collection of emotions at Miss Francis. Miss Francis, about to frown at Ariel and no doubt tell her off, suddenly paused. Her face took on a content expression as she turned her gaze from the question to Ariel. Miss Francis gave Ariel a kind smile and shook her head. "Well then. That's alright. We'll move along." She said before rubbing the problem off and turning to the next one.

Ariel rolled her eyes at Miss Francis' back. She hadn't been much of a challenge. It had only taken a small amount of happiness, contentment and acceptance to make her change her tune. Really, Ariel would never be able to grow her power if she was forced to solely manipulate people as weak minded as Miss Francis. However, she had another year before she could legally leave the Academy, so it would be another year until she was able to step out into the world and put her considerable talents to good use.

Orpheus had lost sight of the ghost. It wasn’t the first time, and the Hades child knew that it wasn’t the last. They were extremely elusive- and his powers were rather under developed. Sighing, he shrugged slightly before turning back and walking towards the dorms once more- though he knew he was going to be late to class. He was far away from the High School buildings and the dorms as well, hidden in a shadowy, dark abandoned corridor in one of the older buildings within the Academy. Should not have followed that ghost. I knew I shouldn’t have. Grumbling slightly, Orpheus picked up his pace as he quickly dashed down a flight of squeaky old floorboards and through a corridor, dark due to the haphazardly bolted windows. Nothing scared Orpheus much though, not anymore. His position as a child of Hades gave him a sort of assurance that nothing ‘supernatural’ would happen to him, or so he hoped. What’s next class again? God, should have brought that schedule of mine. What was it…math? Math. I think it was math- I guess it was, at least. Taking a turn, he ran down another flight of run-down stairs, and then came to a stop in front of a short fence. Gasping for breath, Orpheus stopped for a while, leaning over as he placed his hands against his knees and breathed in and out.

“Horrible idea to run. Absolutely horrible. God the sun is bright today.” Orpheus squinted through the door right in front of the fence to the Sun that hung brightly in the air. He really did hate the outdoors- and if Orpheus could have, he would have stayed indoors for his whole life. Alas, life is never what one wants. Throwing his books gently onto the dusty floor on the other side of the fence, Orpheus placed his hands heavily on the bar and forcibly heaved himself over the short fence, grunting and panting as he finally was able to swing both of his legs down and onto the floor. “Never again.”[/b] Orpheus gave a resolute nod towards the staircase he had come down from then turned to pick up and dust off his books before turning around and jogging out of the building. The sun hit him full-force, causing Orpheus’s steps to falter as his hand shot up immediately to block the sun. This increased Orpheus’s already growing irritation as he slowly marched towards the dorms, his hair messy and his clothes dusty. Orpheus’s clothes also smelled of the mold that festered within the old building, and his hands were covered with dirt from the railings in the building he had accidentally touched. His adventure had left him filthy, and Orpheus’s mind was once again occupied with taking a bath.

That is, until he walked past the school buildings. The first bell rang loudly, peeling across from within the classrooms, to the hallways, to the grass fields around the building. Orpheus came to an abrupt stop, his eyes narrowing, before he started running as fast as possible back to the dorm. He quickly ran to his second floor room- panting and heaving- and shoved his keys in the keyhole before turning it quick and dashing into his room. “No, no, no, no-,” he muttered, running to the toilet and washing his hands, before dashing back and grabbing his already packed bag. “Why, why, why- no, where’s my- what in the- where-,” Orpheus whirled around, his eyes flicking left and right before he finally saw a clean jacket. Quickly pulling off the one he was wearing, Orpheus pulled the jacket on and put his backpack on before running out of his room, slamming his door- and forgetting to lock it- and out of the dormitory. His face was sweaty and grimy with dust, and his legs ached as Orpheus tried to run as fast as he could back to the school buildings- not that he was very fast. However, though Orpheus was slow, he arrived on time, just before the second bell.

Plopping himself down in one of the corner, vacant seats, Orpheus looked up at the arriving teacher before looking down again. He was tired; his legs ached and his back was sweaty. This really hasn’t been a very good start to a new year, has it? Looks were shot his way as others perceived the state Orpheus was in: dirty and sweaty. Ignoring the increased palpitation of his heart, Orpheus harshly grabbed his bag and pulled out his pencil case and his notebook and placed them on the table in front of him with shaky hands. He was saved when the teacher started introducing herself and the class, while also handing out the syllabus- written fully in ancient Greek- to all the demigods seated within the room. Miss. Francis hadn’t spoken for long before her attention was dragged away from her own lecture. “Miss Lee, are you paying attention?” Orpheus turned his head slightly to glance at the Aphrodite child who sat a ways away. Not another antic by one of those Aphrodite children… He shook his head slightly before turning back to stare at the open, blank notebook page on his desk. “No Miss. I was doing my nails.” A silent, derisive snort left Orpheus when he heard the words. What else could you expect out of an Aphrodite child? But Miss Francis didn’t seem to want to give up; she promptly pointed at a problem on the board and asked Ariel Lee to solve it on the board. “I don’t know Miss.” Strike two for the Aprhodite child!

Orpheus knew that Miss. Francis tended to have a bad temper- especially from taking her class last year. However, the mean-tempered woman suddenly smiled as a content look spread across her face. “Well then. That’s alright. We’ll move along.” His eyes narrowed as he watched the teacher’s back as the thought suddenly clicked in his mind. She had used her powers on the teacher. Not that it’s my problem, anyways. What, really, can one do about those children of Aphrodite? Nothing. They’re lost cases.

Right in front of Orpheus, in long since dried ink, was the answer to the question on the board written in horrible handwriting on his notebook.

Casey watched with surprise as the teacher of her math class asked one of the girls if she was listening. Casey hadn't been which wasn't good, but she hadn't expected someone else would be called out on it which brought her attention back to the rather boring discussion. This material wasn't easy and thanks to Casey being a natural terrible math person, things were really bad.

Her eyes watched as the teacher seemed to just accept that the girl who was called 'Mrs. Lee' answered she didn't know. Great a teacher who seemed to be rather forgiving even when she just stated that someone wasn't paying attention... It was strange to see the change in attitude. Could this be the girl that she had been told about? Ariel? The one who could make people feel the way she wanted them to feel? Well. that's rather strange, and somewhat stupid. How would anyone want to hang out with her when they may not know if they're feeling what they want to feel or if they're feeling what Ariel wants them to feel? It was getting rather confusing for Casey now too, so she gave up in trying to figure out the puzzle.

A fellow beside her took had taken out his notebook and been the last one to show up. He looked somewhat dirty and rather sweaty, as if he had been running maybe. Wasn't he a child of Hades? One of the guys that the twins avoided? Maybe, maybe not. Oh well. Casey knew she shouldn't stare so she looked back at the board. Greek... great. How could Casey read ancient Greek when Latin was supposed to be a dead language, and was younger than Greek? How wonderful.

Casey sighed as she sank back down, hoping that something good would come into her situation. She stared at the varying letters, some looking similar to the English alphabet while some looked like scribbles from the Apollo kids' sketchbooks when they displayed them, or Casey caught sight of them. The letters seemed to change, or maybe it was Casey's eyes, or her head, but a second later Casey was able to understand some of the Greek. It was weird, as if magic... never mind it being weird.

Casey looked back over at the fellow beside her, wondering his name before looking down at her notebook and trying to draw something that didn't look like scribbles.

Jason smiled as he sat back in English. It was his favorite class considering it allowed him to practice poetry without getting in trouble. It also helped him when he was working on his songs with Jordan, or when he just wanted to work on songs. The classroom seemed somewhat dull with it's occupants seemingly bored out of their mind. Why were demigods with super unnatural parents and powers learning English? it didn't make much sense to Jason though he was not complaining about the class like Jordan did sometimes.

Jason's eyes wandered to his brother sitting behind Camden where he was seeing how long he could hold his breath. It was quite annoying to watch as Jordan kept cheating though he gave up a minute or so later as he then took up his pencil and began writing something down. Jason wasn't sure what Jordan was writing down or what language he was writing it down in. They both knew Ancient Greek and could speak it well enough though they both preferred to stick with English majority of the time.

Jason's thoughts flitted to Amelia as he sat there, daydreaming and not bothering to look at the board, but out the window right beside his desk. It was always much better to sit in the sun than where Jordan was, stuck in the back to avoid being the one that caught everyone's eyes. The two had been split up politely by their teacher though the teacher didn't know it wouldn't do a single thing in the twins situation. They had been in two different states at one point in their life, yet their teacher in elementary school had received their prank with specific clarity, ensured by Jordan.

Jordan sat writing down whatever came to mind. There had been a tune in his head that morning and that was already scribbled at the top of the notebook paper in a simple melodic way that only he and Jason understood. To any other person, it would look like a simple boring song, but when the twins saw it, they knew how to decipher the music to keep others from stealing the song.

Jordan sat up as he heard his name being mentioned. It was only there for a moment before he went back down. The teacher must have been explaining something to a first year. Probably not what to do in class. It was a lot easier to find examples when it involved two twins who were often in trouble and more often than not, the ones to blame. Jordan moved his bow a bit under his desk, annoyed that it was in the way of someone beside him. Don't people know that you don't touch another persons weapon?

His English teacher didn't seem too surprised to see it though she did ask that Jordan didn't actually load it in class ever... When Jordan had asked about a highly unlikely scenario involving a hydra and a few hellhounds, she told him he could use it, but only in that specific situation. So should a hydra and eight hellhounds show up, Jordan was to use his bow to kill them then sit down and pay attention again. Other than that... no bow... oh well.

Eddie Greer had been enjoying a pleasant nap on the Training Field stands when the angry voice of the professor broke through his day dreams, "Greer!" Professor Solomon exclaimed as he leaned over him, his hands on his hips and eyes partially closed in a glare, "Why aren't you doing something useful? Even the Aphrodite girl is training her powers, and you're here snoozing."
Eddie followed Solomon's hand towards where Alana was just finishing her training. Returning his attention to Prof. Frank Solomon, Eddie gave him the best shrug he could give while still lying down, "What do you want me to do, coach?" Eddie asked, "I'm already an expert at changing liquids. Do you want me to practise making people insane? Who'd wanna volunteer for that?" The pair had had this argument before, in fact it seemed to repeat every week or so.
"Insanity is no joke, which is exactly why you need to control it." Professor Solomon persisted, "I'm sure we have something constructed that will allow you to practise your abilities without harming anyone. I hate to think what you could do if you lost control." The last part of Professor Solomon's little talk was more of a reflection than a comment aimed directly at Eddie. Even so, it hit a cord and Eddie's light, careless attitude suddenly became remarkably chillier. "Fine. Whatever." He said as he pushed himself up into a sitting position. In a swift motion he stood up, almost knocking Professor Solomon off balance as he did. Without a backward glance Eddie turned and walked off the bleachers, leaving the professor to wonder if he had convinced Eddie to practise or simply angered him.

In fact Eddie was neither more inclined to practice, nor angry. The comment about him losing control had simply brought on a more serious Eddie, one that didn't come out very often. He hadn't told anybody about the one and only time he lost complete control of his power and accidentally made his neighbour insane. It isn't something that he likes to think about, much less share. Even the idea of training such a power has always frightened him. Who could say if he could even control it? Eddie glanced around the training arena, seeking anything to take his mind off the thought of insanity. He saw various people chatting, practising and so forth, but eventually his eyes lit upon Alana. Plastering a smile on his face he jogged up behind her and slung an arm around her shoulders.
"You were actually doing work, and on the first day." He teased, "What happened to wanting to do something 'naughty'?" He continued, removing his arm in order to make bunny ears with his fingers as he said 'naughty'.

Amelia smiled and nodded at Cyrus' advice, making a mental note to look into his suggestions. It always paid to listen to ideas made by Athena's kids since they usually proved most helpful. In response to Amelia's question regarding the game of Capture the Flag, Cyrus frowned before replying. His answer was, as always, comprehensive, although she would have to correct him in his belief that Ariel possessed Charm speak. While the daughter of Aphrodite was very gifted in persuading people to follow her orders, this was thanks to a talent with manipulating people and knowing how to push and pull on emotions to get what she wanted.

Amelia also couldn't help but grin as Cryus admitted to not finding her pretty, nor Alana. Amelia glanced across at the blonde girl, who had just been approached by Eddie Greer. It would definitely be a bad idea to let either daughter of Aphrodite hear anyone questing their beauty. "That's a very brave stance to take." Amelia replied, smiling. Amelia had always thought it was more than just looks that made a person attractive or not, and while Ariel might have been pretty on the outside, inside she was as ugly as they come.

"Do you think they watch? I'm sure you've made your father proud. I'm sure he's visited you to tell you this. Sometimes, I think I have my mother's favour in "Capture the Flag", but then I realize I was just imagining it." Cyrus said a moment later, to which Amelia could only shake her head.
"The first and last time Zeus came to see me was when I was one." She admitted with a shrug, "I suppose they've got more important things to do than constantly watch us." She had always known that her father, as King of the Gods, had to set an example. If he was down here every other day visiting his children, than all the Gods and Goddesses would be. She liked to think that was the reason why he didn't visit. Sometimes a student would receive a sign from their godly parent, but more often than not the kids were left to their own devices.

The whoosh of a spear as it flew above Amelia and Cyrus' heads brought Amelia out of her thoughts. She glanced around and realised that chatting in the middle of the training grounds was probably not the best place. "Maybe we should move to the sidelines." Amelia said to Cyrus, she glanced towards the sidelines and quickly spotted a place free of flying weapons. Said spot was also directly beside Rick, so the move would also allow her to solve the mystery of what he had been doing watching her so intently. She also couldn't help but notice that Elinor Mansell was standing with Rick. She frowned slightly as she watched the pair. Elinor should have been in her own class, but Amelia had to remind herself that she wasn't the teacher. While she might disapprove of Elinor's actions, as long as it wasn't harming anyone else she could let it slide.
Amelia walked a few paces, then stopped and glanced back at Cyrus to see if he was joining her.

Ariel would have gone to sleep at her desk if she hadn't been concious of the possibility of snoring in class. Maths was the furthest thing from interesting and right now the teacher was doing her best to make it even worse. Didn't the teacher know that it was the first day of school. You weren't meant to do any actual work. She glanced across at the various students in the class. The Hades' kid needed a shower and a change of clothes, beside him sat the blonde girl who Ariel was sure she hadn't seen before. Either because she was new, or else because Ariel hadn't bothered to learn who she was. A few other students caught her attention, but not long enough to distract her from the dull lesson.

With a sigh of exasperation Ariel picked up her bag and pulled the strap over her shoulder. As she pushed her chair back it made a loud screeching sound, drawing the attention of most of the class and the teacher too.
"Miss Lee?" She asked, frowning slightly as Ariel walked swiftly to the head of the room, "Can I help you with anything?"
"I was just wondering if I could go? I think I need to lie down for a while." Ariel lied sweetly, giving the teacher her best innocent smile. Her words were laced with concern, caring and contentment and aimed directly at Miss Francis. Miss Francis looked momentarily angry before a concerned smile appeared on her face. The teacher's hand grabbed Ariel's arm, clutching tightly, "Of course you can. Take as much time off as you need." Miss Francis said, her words almost shaking with emotion. Ariel watched as Miss Francis' face quickly changed from slightly concerned to bordering on manic. Tears welled up in Miss Francis' eyes and the thought crossed Ariel's mind that perhaps she had overdone it slightly this time. Miss Francis seemed to have gone from mildly caring, as Ariel had intended it, to caring too much.

"Get off." Ariel urged, somewhat rudely as she tried to shake Miss Francis' hand off. The situation had quickly gotten out of hand and Ariel was trying not to show any outward signs of worry for the sake of her reputation. Even so, she couldn't help but flinch slightly as Miss Francis' grip increased. In an attempt to make the teacher unhand her, Ariel pushed several more emotions onto her. It was a rather hasty job and might just as easily have backfired on Ariel. Luckily though, the emotions seemed to have worked and with a start Miss Francis let go of Ariel. The teacher took a step back, her hand flew to her mouth and the slightly manic expression was replaced with a sad one. Ariel stayed just long enough to see Miss Francis burst into tears (no doubt the effect of the sadness she had given her), before turning on her heel and quickly making her exit.

She stopped just down the corridor, far enough that she could ignore Miss Francis' echoing sobs. With a frown she pulled the sleeve of her shirt back so that she could see the slowly forming bruise left by Miss Francis' fingers. Ariel quietly cursed herself for losing control of the situation. It wasn't something she did often and she hated to think what the other students would think of her now.

Casey watches Ariel with wide eyes, amazed that she would just leave the class. The teacher was a nervous wreck for the remaining ten minutes of the class, sobbing into her arms on her desk. Eventually, some kids got up and left, then a couple others, then Casey. It was too weird, and just downright strange that something like that had happened. With a shake of her head, Casey moves to go down the hall, following her memory in hopes that she'd remember where to go for the next class.

She walked to her room to drop off her stuff from the math class before moving to walk somewhat awkwardly outside to see power training still seemed to be going on. Curious, Casey moved to watch, keeping out of the way as she watched, though some people looked more like they were socializing than anything. Curiously, she watched as Eddie seemed to talk to Alana about something, then Amelia was talking to... wasn't his name Cyrus? Something like that...

Casey gave a small smile and wave as she looked to Amelia, hoping to find someone who knew more of what was going on. "Hey," She says as she walks forward a bit towards before seeing what direction she was going towards and moving to go there too. She didn't know what else to do or where else to go to considering she knew only a few people.

Jason pauses, his eyes going over what he had just written before relaxing again. His unease of being in the class somewhat present though it wasn't extremely terrible, more so just boredom. He looks down as the teacher asks a question, working to make it look as if he was rather busy though in reality he was just scribbling a random line on his notebook's paper.

Jason was relieved and somewhat horrified to hear Jordan's name getting called out. When he looked up, he saw Jordan lowering his hand which really surprised Jason. He never raised his hand, thought participating in stupid things like class were stupid, hence his vocabulary when it comes to descriptions.

Jordan looked as if he was really going to give a legitimate answer, looking as if he actually cared, before saying, "Is class almost over yet?" Jason let out a sigh as he heard his brother's rather idiotic comment. Class would be over when it was time to be over and when the teacher let them out... not when Jordan asked if class could be over. "I mean, if it isn't... can it be considering it is the first day of classes again and we have capture the flag tonight?" Jordan asks as if thinking his idea to be the best there is around.

The teacher considers Jordan's words, actually considers them. "If you answer my question I will let you go Jordan," The teacher says emitting a groan from Jason. Jordan smiled over at his brother rather smugly before looking to the teacher again. "The answer is simple. The wonderful fellow by the name of Jason was the leader of the Argonauts. Can I go now? Jordan asks with the same smile on his face. The teacher furrows her brow at him momentarily, confused as to how Jordan answered the question. "We aren't even talking about that subject Jordan... What have you been doing the entire time?" The teacher asks, truly amazed at Jordan's guess as the group had been talking about getting back into the roll of English class.

Jordan shrugs and sits back rather bored all over again leaving Jason just amazed even more. His brother wasn't stupid... just idiotic sometimes.

When class let out, Jason grabbed his belongings from Jordan before moving to take his stuff he didn't need back to the dorm. They had weapons class next, which was rather fun considering the two could compete for smaller and further targets.

Jordan moved to go outside, looking around for the teacher and wondering when they would show up out of pure curiousity.
