In-Depth

Personality:
Casey is a normally easy going person and is more friendly than others she knows. She won't engage in conversations without someone else making the first attempts though. Casey is willing to do anything to protect those around her though she fears she may not step up to the plate. She fears she won't meet the expectations she has set for herself when it comes to meeting people who are trying to make friends. Casey will talk to you when you're sad or need someone there for she doesn't like to see others upset. It makes her feel guilty that she isn't trying to help them or could prevent their sadness from the beginning as she believes nobody deserves to be unhappy when they are so young and still have so much to look forward to.

Casey would never risk dying for anything without having a good reason such as having a friend. She constantly fears that she is making wrong decisions that will end with bad consequences that will not just hurt her, but those around her as she feels that anything that happens to those with her is her fault and because of that, takes the blame and their pain and hurt on top of her own as she feels they don't deserve it. Casey always gets nervous when she's by herself as she constantly doubts herself even then, fearful that she won't make a good decision or that the decision she does make won't be the right one. She wouldn't ever hurt someone if she could help it as she doesn't like to think of people as her enemies considering those people aren't the ones that want to kill each other, or in her eyes anyway.

Casey could be considered naive as she is usually trusting to anyone, usually taking their word for it even if she's never met them before or they seem sketchy as long as the information makes sense and doesn't seem as shady as it's owner. Casey would never dare challenge anyone that is her superior normally as she doesn't like to get in trouble, though she will if she believes it's a worthy cause and it's not something that's just being done to be done. Casey has a difficult and awkward time around people she doesn't necessarily like as she doesn't want to be rude or mean and avoid them, but she doesn't want to be around them and usually relies on her friends to bail her out of the messy situations.

Casey, when angered, can be rather hot headed and is a rash person in the fit. She will get a backbone she doesn't normally have and will challenge people who she believes to be in the wrong, standing up for what she believes even if it seems hopeless as she grew up being called hard headed by her sister whom she dearly loved.

History:
Casey was born to a middle class mother that had been divorced and already had another, older daughter named Paige. Casey's mother was a young lady around the age of thirty five when she caught the eye of the sea god and was approached when she was at the beach with her little girl having already lived in Miami all her life and never leaving. When Casey's mother met Poseidon, she was rather curious about the man. The two began talking and eventually went on a date, as time progressed, Poseidon became a fatherly figure for young Paige for a few months before Casey was born when he left and didn't return.

Casey grew up going to an outdoor public school where she made friends and had good grades, though she was always rather bad in English, yet flourished in Latin as she was able to understand a lot of it thanks to her Greek roots taking over and allowing her to find the roots of the Latin words. Casey played basketball and thoroughly enjoyed doing the dancing her mother was able to pay for by scraping together money that she had saved away. Casey was also able to play basketball when she was on summer vacation and liked to surf with Paige whenever they had the chance as it felt more like home than her house to Casey.

When Casey was eight, she was with her mother and sister at home when a fire was started by some faulty wiring that an electrician recently "fixed". When this happened, Casey panicked when she was in her room and couldn't get out because of the door. She was on the second floor and had to jump out the window to the firemen waiting below as they couldn't get their fire truck close enough to raise the ladder and there was not much time to do anything else. Casey was burnt right before she jumped, not getting one leg out fast enough to avoid the searing feeling of the burn. She was taken to the hospital where they treated the third degree burn, telling her that it would heal and she would be okay, but she would always have a scar.

As Casey and her small family began rebuilding their life that had been taken from them, they bought a small shack by the beach where the half sisters (not knowing they weren't complete sisters) shared a room while their mother slept on a pull out bed in the living room on the couch. A few nights after they had settled in, Casey's father showed up, saying he was sorry for what happened and was willing to help Casey's mother get back up on her feet. Casey never saw her father as she had been in bed, supposed to be asleep when she heard the voices. There was what sounded like a slap before the voices stopped and all Casey could hear was the crashing of the waves on the beach nearby.

When Casey was ten, she was with her sister as they were surfing. Casey sensed an animal nearby and wasn't surprised when she heard the creatures thoughts in her head as that usually happened when she was out in the ocean. She had once asked Paige about it who had no idea what Casey was talking about, leaving a stunned Casey to just stop talking about. When the creature asked if it could have a snack, Casey didn't understand, saying go ahead. Only when it was too late did she realize what she had allowed to happen. Her sister was attacked by the shark and sank under water, legless and going into shock. Casey went after her sister, sending the shark away. Casey was able to manipulate the water just enough to bring them to the surface where she was helped into a police boat as they had been nearby and came to the rescue too late.

Paige was in a hospital for three weeks before Casey's mother made the decision that forever affected Casey. Her sister had gone into a shock induced coma and the doctors announced that with no brain waves that they had been receiving, Paige wouldn't wake up. With a severed leg, the doctors took the girl of life support and soon enough, her heart stopped beating entirely and she was gone, leaving a small hole in Casey's chest. Casey blamed herself though she never told anyone but her mother who told her it wasn't her fault and that she shouldn't beat herself up about it. Casey's mother finally told her daughter the news about her father as she deemed the time ready.

Casey then continued to grow up with her mother in the now two person shack by the sea as the two took on many part time jobs to keep up on payments as well as have fun when they could. Casey's mother never surfed a day after the attack on Paige though Casey would sneak out at night to find the waves as she couldn't stay away from the water. A week after Casey's loss, the shark that had caused the attack came to see Casey. It was rather upset about making her mad as it could tell. Casey sent it away, not wanting the creature around. The next day she heard the announcement that the shark that killed Paige had practically swam into the harpoon of the hunters.

Casey was broken slightly more but began to heal as time came and went allowing her to make friends and gently erase the nightmares that rarely plagued the young girl. When Casey was seventeen, her mother decided to send her to the academy that her momentarily lover had recommended as he believed it best for the young girl as she began to see monsters more and more often show up until the day they showed up at the house looking for the young girl though they didn't find her as she was at the beach, busy with trying to cam her uneasiness in facing this new school. Her mother however, was home and was severely injured, resulting in her loosing her ability to hear as the explosion went off.

Casey was again put in a bad state but her mother would not allow her to not go to the school as she had seen the monsters become more and more common in the town. She sent her daughter away and went to live with her own sister nearby, perfectly happy as she was able to feel confident one daughter would be safe for as long as possible.

Other: Casey has a scar running up the back of her thigh from her ankle that is from the fire in her history.

Time: 8.30am

The weather seems to rest at a comfortable temperature, not too warm or too cold. Curiously, the seasons of the Academy don't seem to relate much to the outside world, in fact it usually seems to be a mild summer day even if snow storms rage outside of it's boundaries. Of course, with a collection of super-powered demi-gods within it's walls the weather and many other aspects of life is always likely to change rapidly.

The Academy's first day of classes is always a more relaxed day for the students. Classes start slightly later than usual at 9.30am (usually classes begin at 8.55am) and end just after midday to allow for the traditional game of Capture the Flag in the afternoon.

However, this early in the morning most students can be found rising from their sleep and preparing for their day. All the students have arrived earlier in the week, giving everyone a chance to catch up on their holidays and make themselves at home again. Of course, the week has also given the students a chance to reopen old wounds, confirming past enmities or on the flip side form new friendships. Of course others have used the free week to get a head start on their studies, start working on an invention or begin to plan pranks. Of particular interest to the party animals would have been the nearby town bar which hosted a party the previous night. Of course leaving the school grounds is prohibited...

Given the vast array of personalities at the Academy, this year promises to be a very interesting one.

Outfit

Casey rose from her bed, still not quite used to waking up at the early time. She had slept in only slightly which was a good thing and bad thing at the same time. Now Casey would have to hope she remembered how to get to places so she wouldn't get lost. Casey moved to her closet that didn't have too many choices, and chose something that would be simple and easy for the first day of school. Casey felt slightly nervous, but didn't know why as this wasn't regular school. It's only a school for half gods that potentially have strong powers... nothing much at all.

With a sigh, Casey moved to the door, opening it and looking out at the fountain that housed her father's statue. The father she had never met. When Casey moved to walk by, she stopped for only a second to look into the water. The thoughts of the fish race through her head momentarily before she blocks them out, the thoughts slightly strange and incomprehensible to Casey.

With a small shake of her head, she moves to leave the dormitory, praying to the gods she wouldn't get lost on her way to the cafeteria. Casey wasn't sure what to expect when she reached the place that served food. Maybe a line with lunch ladies and such. That didn't seem to be the case. Others were sitting at tables, some talking, some eating, all busy it seemed. Casey's eyes sought out anyone she knew and was okay with or didn't dislike but failed to see anybody right away. With another sigh inwardly, she moved to get a bottle of water and what she thought to be some yogurt. Casey wasn't sure she'd be able to keep the creamy food down just because of the way her stomach kept turning.

Casey sat at the end of a table, not really sure what to do other than to just eat the food in front of her. Her old cell phone didn't work so texting her mom was out of the question, Casey didn't have any books or anything, and Casey had no idea how to get around more than just the basics in the new school that was supposed to be a sort of safe haven for her kind. Casey looked at the water, her head felt as if it had a slight headache and it made Casey tired. She took a sip of the water and smiled slightly at the rush of energy that she encountered. It was short, but it did help Casey feel better.

Jason's Outfit ~ Jordan's Outfit

"Jordan, get up," Jason says from where he stood by the door of their dorm. "Come on man, we want to get to breakfast," Jason says to his brother, hating that he sounded slightly whiny. Jordan opens one eye from where he lay on his stomach in bed. "I'm sleeping, go away," Jordan says, his voice somewhat muffled by the pillow. "Jordan, come on," Jason complains.

Running a hand through his brown hair, Jason sighs slightly before he looks up to the ceiling. "Alana will probably be upset she missed you," Jason says with a sigh. He didn't want to pull that card, didn't want to encourage Jordan to go after the girl, but he didn't want to be late to get food which may or may not be hot by the time they got there. Jason shook the thought away, that only happens when they're at home. This is the academy, food is always hot.

Jordan heard the words, considered them, then sprung up as if he had just received a shot of something. "I'll be ready in two minutes," Jordan manages as he runs around the room, getting things done and pulling on clothing while hopping on one foot before stopping in front of Jason with a smile. "Let's go," He states simply as if the two were waiting on Jason, not him.

Jason groans slightly as he follows his brother out the dorm, making sure their door was closed. The two walked rather quickly towards the cafeteria that served the amazing food that the two loved. "Are you really going to make me sit by Alana today?" Jason asks his brother as they grabbed food. "You don't have to, go sit with Casey, she looks lonely," Jordan offers with a small fake pout. "I'll invite her to join us and hopefully Alana just doesn't show," Jason says with another tired sigh.

The twins take a seat by Casey with a smile. "Mind if we sit here?" Jason asks to which Casey shakes her head no. "Just know we may have someone join us if Jordan can convince her," Jason says with a smile and a smirk at Jordan who makes a face at his brother, digging into the food in front of him with obvious glee.

Rosalie Marie Smoak woke up feeling...

What's a good word to start the day off with? Rose's lips pursed in thought as she pulled her slightly oversized shirt over her leotard and sweatpants, allowing the material to hang off of her sloping right shoulder and giving a teasing glimpse of smooth, lightly-tanned skin and a leotard strap. Hmm.... A slow, devilish smile lifted the corners of her mouth.

Exuberant.

She felt exuberant.

Contrary to popular belief, being Dionysus' child didn't make it easier to deal with hangovers. Just because he was the God of wine and partying and good old-fashioned fun didn't do much of anything other than give all of them great appetites for fun, which definitely showed last night. Surprisingly enough, it was simply being hydrated. Rose hardly, if ever, had hangovers mainly because water was her main drink before and after indulging in shots. She was an athlete, after all, and a dancer to boot. She needed to remain hydrated, which definitely helped seeing how her first class of the day was Dance Appreciation.

Once she deemed her outfit cute enough to chill in (it wasn't like she needed to show off or anything), she proceeded to tie her hair up in a semi-high ponytail that leaned a little more to the right just to be creative and allowed the shorter ends of her hair - which fell to about maybe collarbone length - to frame her face. Just to be different, she added some personality glasses and coated her lips in a dark coat of magenta. It was different and matched her nail polish. Satisfied, Rose gave herself a nice little spritz of vanilla perfume, grabbed both her backpack and laptop bag, and walked out of her room.

Rose passed the Zeus dorm, wondering if her brother was awake. She shook her head. As much as she loved annoying him, she also understood that he would more than likely be ready to kill her if she tried. She'd call him once she was in the cafeteria. She shook her head at the grandeur of the dormitory.

"Show-offs," she sneered lightly and continued along the path towards the cafeteria, the scent of wonderfully-prepared breakfast wafting to her noes and leading her in the right direction. Once inside, Rose noted the a good number of students and smiled brightly. "Morning, guys!"

She took her time deciding what to eat, perusing through the lines and glancing at different things. Finally, she decided upon eggs, bacon, hash browns, and a banana muffin. She wasn't particularly picky about eating nor was she conscious about it. In all honesty, she was just going to work all of it off anyway. Rose fixed herself a mug of coffee just the way she liked it, two packets of vanilla creamery and a few pumps of caramel at the expresso bar. Satisfied with that and a glass of water, she gathered her tray and bags. Her eyes fell on one of her closest friends, Eddie, and she hurried over to his table.

"Wassup, love? Still hungover?"

Alana woke up to sun shining through her window. She groaned and attempted to roll over. This of course was useless since she was deeply entangled in her sheets. She sat up and shoved the heavy comforter off her, only to discover she was wearing the same black mini dress from the night before.

She groaned and immidiately ran to the nearest mirror, praying she had remembered at least to remover her makeup. If she remembered correctly she wore smoky eye makeup last night to play up her bright blue eyes.
She exhaled as she peaked and the mirror and happily sighed, of course she remembered.

She smiled and happily strode off to her bathroom for a scalding hot shower. She exfoliated her face until she had a natural glow and dewy tone. She washed her long hair, she let it grow over the summer so it hung all the way to her mid behind. Then once she blowdryed it she straightened and curled it so she had bigbombshell curls. She then focused on her face. She applied liqued eyeliner along her lids, applied mascara, and slicked red lipstick along her plump lips.
She glanced in the mirror and a smug smile played on her lips. "Pefect "She said blowing herself a kiss. Once she was thouroughly satisfied she strose her long legs over to her closet. After numerous attempts she settled on a pair of tweed shorts that showed off her long tanned legs, a silk cream blouse that was loose yet still hugged her impressive chest and a pair of Jeffrey Campbell lita boots. She finished it with gold hoops, a delicate gold and diamond necklace, and a Channel purse.

She grabbed her phone and keys as she headed out of her dorm. She glanced at the buildings as she walked to the cafeteria. He head was high, her long blonde hair caught the sun perfectly like a golden halo, and her dewy tanned skin glowed. She proded herself on the fact that though she never met her mother she had often been called the epitome of Aphrodite.

She walked into the cafeteria and smiled a little. She waved at a few friends before walking over to the food. She grabbed a strawberry smoothie, granola bar, and a fruit salad. She immidiately smiled as she saw Rose and Eddie. "Hey guys, has anybody seen Ariel?" She said setting her food down and kissing them both on the cheek. She suddenly could feel all the eyes on her. She glanced around "Well they're a bit... bolder this year" She said spearing a slice of kiwi and popping it into her mouth. She chewed thoughtfully before spotting Jordan. She smiled at him before turning to her friend "Be right back. Don't leave without me."

She walked over to Casey, Jordan, and Jasons table. "There you are" She said easily sliding onto Jordans lap. "Hey love"She said with one of the smiles reserved just for him. She smiled at Casey too "Hey Case by the way I got thia new nail polish that will look crazy cute on you". She reluctantly nodded in greeting to Jason.

"Some say that Olympus is one big party. I would discount this as exaggeration, but judging from the behavior of my kin, there is a rather large kernel of truth to it."

Cyrus woke up early this morning, unlike a few of his "cousins", though Cyrus would prefer not to think of them that way too much. After all, that term combined with the tendency of many of his peers to "hook up" along with his own attraction to multiple said female peers was liable to trigger the incest reflex, a survival mechanism meant to defend the human species from the many genetic diseases incest would trigger.

When he woke up, Cyrus decided to take a shower as the bathroom he shared with his siblings on his floor was empty at that time of day and proceeded to dress himself and pick up the case containing his laptop. It was a custom one his brother, Camden gave to him for his birthday. Its looked to be the work of a demigod. Perhaps a child of Hermes, Athena, or Hephaestus. He and the other children of Athena along with the children of Hermes had worked on a project where the computers on school grounds could network together in a way reminiscent to the internet but without the downside of attracting monsters as it was a closed network. Truthfully, Cyrus felt he contributed very little aside from the initial idea and the mathematics behind it. However, the network proved popular. If he remembered right, someone daughter of Aphrodite was working on a replica of Facebook. Children of Aphrodite could prove industrious if given the right motivation, he mused.

He stepped out of his room an headed down to the main floor, ignoring the many weapons and bookcases he passed as he did. However, on the main floor, he stopped in front of the statue of his mother. He looked at her. She was so regal-looking and ageless, as though she demanded proper respect. Her statue was a lot different than how she acted when he met her for the first time. The way she talked with his father was so natural, so human. He did not know how the memory made him feel so he stored it away.

He headed for the cafeteria and, deciding that he would rather manage his time more efficiently, ordered a blueberry smoothie mixed with nectar. Cyrus felt that fine food such as this, with nectar and fruit from Olympus, was one small way the gods showed their children that they cared, though in an indirect manner. Not to mention Hermes charged a pretty penny too.

He sat down at a table near the corner and booted up his laptop, taking a sip of his smoothie as he did so. Immediately, he opened up Total War: Shogun 2. Total War: Rome 2 had sadly been a disappointment. It was a pity. The first Rome had been far ahead of its time. He chose a multiplayer match and smiled when he saw the screenname of one of his siblings. He raised an eyebrow when they chose the Otomo faction. So they would be using firearms. He chose the Takeda.

What followed was a half hour match where two children of Athena utilized multiple tactics against each other. His opponents use of gunpowder units was masterful, but the Takeda horse archers had a clan bonus, not to mention a longer range. While his horse archers flanked his opponents units, they charged towards his army, but he sent them to retreat in the woods. Nonetheless, it wasn't an easy match. He was unable to avoid many casualties due to the gunpowder units, but, at last, he won.

He closed his laptop and finished off his smoothie. He eyed his surroundings, noting that several people had arrived during his game. He waved at each of his friends/acquaintances and pondered who he should talk to first. His mouth twitched at Alana's actions.

"She likes one twin, but dislikes the other. Twins are a package deal, though," he mused to himself.

Casey smiles as she sees Alana. She thought Alana was a fun person, maybe a little flirty at times, and set on helping Casey with looks, someone with a good heart. "Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to try it then, huh?" Casey responds with a smile as she runs the spoon she was using through the yogurt almost absentmindedly. She liked Alana, she really did, she was just an interesting person in general and made things more fun. Casey took another sip of water as she watched Jordan and his response.

"Hey gorgeous. Excited to get back into the world of studying fashion?" Jordan asks with a smile as he wraps his arms around her gently. Even though Jordan was two years younger than Alana, he was taller, even if it was by a few centimeters, or millimeters if he was wanting to be honest. Jordan didn't bring up the party last night as he had left rather early, not wanting to get drinking for his fear of Jason finding out. Jordan hadn't really classified his relationship with Alana as all around exclusive yet just because he wasn't sure. He knew Alana liked him, why else spend time with him? Though he was sure that she just needed to see that Jordan was worth it. Jordan rarely smiled this way and Jason knew it. It actually made Jason's heart hurt to see Jordan use it on Alana. It was one that was pure adoration and or love. He rarely used it on anyone except slightly more often on Jason himself.

Jordan looked at Alana's hair and could feel himself smile a little more, his eyes soften a bit more as well. She was pretty, she was gentle, usually, and she was something that he needed. Jordan loved her hair, the way it always was bouncy and smelled amazing. He thought about the last time he had run his hand through it gently, brushing it away from her face, then the memory faded. Jordan's breath caught slightly and he saw a flash before everything was back to normal. He noticed that nobody had noticed his quick spacing out and was thankful.

Jason groaned softly and made a face as he ducked his head. He hated seeing Jordan like this. Acting like an idiot because he thought he was in love. For all Jordan knew, Alana could be seducing him and nothing more, playing with him for fun, but of course he was blinded by the beauty. Jason couldn't help but admit that Alana was pretty, but she was just unreliable in his head and there wasn't much of a chance for that to be changed any time soon.

"Alana's studying fashion?" Casey whispered to Jason who nodded his head without looking up. Casey nodded, eyebrows raised as she watched Jordan from across the table. Jason was sitting by her while Alana and Jordan were on the other side. "Hello Alana," Jason says with a reluctant and rather fake smile to the girl he probably disliked the most on all of campus.

“Don’t call it a fight when you know its a war.”

After years of irregular mealtimes, eating whenever she felt like it, or skipping altogether to focus her mind that little bit more, the routineness and balance of food in the camp makes her feel more ill than she's sure she'd feel if she didn’t eat at all. She'd been introduced to all sorts of new flavours and combinations in her time here, but everything I try seems to reflect the mannerism of the Camp itself – spiced and flavored and not nearly sensible. She's no food critic, but she has always been suspicious of things she can’t easily recognise. She prefer eating in the dining hall than in her own room. It feels more like home – the foods served in big shining vats with ladels or serving forks, not on dainty, miniature china crockery that’s as fragile as bird bones – and as well-suited for the purpose of holding a large meal, too.

The dining room is not only plainer, both in design and in recipes, but also gives much more scope for conversation, too. It’s easy to go and sit opposite a new person, (as easy as it is for the introverted people to sit alone), and chatter flows easily when there’s whole lives of different experiences to compare.

With a plate lightly topped with the blandest things she could find – waffles topped with a dusting of icing sugar – She glances around the tables, all filled with faces she does not recognise- except for a few scattered in every direction. And then, oh. She spots her sibling, Casey, at a table with the twins, Jordan and Jason, and Alana. That'll do nicely the thought sprung from her head and she took a seat at their table.

"Hello, everyone" She said, smiling that infectious smile of hers "Were you guys at the party last night? I didn't see anyone I knew, so I just left"

She can’t even begin to compare this nostalgically to her perfectly cooked meals at home, whatever the time of day or the depth of her appetite, before she notices It’s a mixture of courtesy and genuine interest, but she know it’s a good start, whatever direction the interaction takes.

Rick hummed along to the lines of the song blaring on the small hand-crafted stereo that he and Poppy had built awhile back as it was a nice, and much needed, addition to the shop. Of course, he knew how early it was and was also fairly certain the walls of the dorm wasn't thick enough to stop the sound from emanating throughout the dorm, but since none of the others have come down to holler at him then it must not have been bothering them.

Moving to a clustered table, he tossed an alternator on it; a favor just being finished for a child of Ares, seemed his totally awesome Toyota Camry's, honestly Rick still couldn't figure out how a Camry could be described as awesome, battery kept dying; causing the car to shut down over the break which really impeded on his plans of getting laid as much as possible before returning to a place full of kinda-sorta-but not really-relatives, and the Ares' kid was far to cheap to pay to have it replaced.

Finally finished with that mini-project, Rick glanced up at the large clock in the shop to figure out what was what, but it seemed he would have enough time to shower up, change, and then either go back to work on his newest prototype or go mingle. It truly was a hard choice given he had spent a good portion of last night at a party mingling with people. Yes, it had been a long night just like how every night was. Went to a party for a few hours, came back and tried to sleep for two hours, failed miserably, then came down to the shop at three in the morning to work on projects till daybreak.

One look at the 'prototype' was enough to convince him to go mingle. He needed to tell the twins to stop by the shop as they were going to be his beta-testers, and he needed to see Ellie and C. to start preparation on the 'Masta Plans' for the years first major prank. If all went well, some dorm was going to have a very, very long day sometime this week. Wiping his hands on his worn jeans, Rick headed for the door.

Feeling fresh and as wake as someone can be when they haven't slept in thirty-eight hours, Rick left the dorm in his 'new' outfit. New was a subjective term as the shirt was a bland grey, but on the bright side, it lacked any holes, burn spots, and oil stains. The jeans were faded, but that said they didn't start out faded. Running his hand across his chin and enjoying the small stubble that ran along it; he decided he could look a whole lot worse, but then again, even if he was looking terrible; he wouldn't have cared. Sliding his hands into his pockets, he headed for the cafeteria ignoring most of the dorms he passed as they weren't really of interest to him as his mind was completely wrapped up in his newest prototype, and the havoc it was going to play on the lives of the other Demi-Gods.

When he finally got to the cafeteria, he glanced around the room to note on the 'clicks' that everyone migrated into, and Rick prided himself on not belonging to one as he was just far too awesome. He was a 'drifter' if anything, able to sit anywhere and fit in because he usually knew one or two people in every click.

Walking along the set out food, he shook his head, "Would it kill them to serve me something nice and greasy?" He bemoaned as he really didn't want any of that 'godly' food or any of those veggies as he was not a rabbit. Reaching out, he snaked a green apple which was good enough as he really wasn't hungry as the lack of sleep was making his stomach start to churn just from looking at it, and if he has learned anything from his time here, a churning stomach plus that nectar equaled lots of vomit.

Apple in hand, he swept his eyes over the assembled 'mass' once more before getting to work. Knowing the trip to the twins would be the fastest, he headed to their table first, and leaned over the wood, "Hey double trouble, I got something awesome to show you, so after school stop by the shop. Trust me, it is going to blow your minds," he said not able to keep the excitement form his voice over the topic at hand, not wanting to be completely rude having just barged in on whatever conversation they were having, "Hey oddly disproportion amount of blondies," He said to the three present as a form of greeting, as he only knew one of their names, Alana, with the other two just being... whoever they were. Plus, just calling them blondies saved him the time of having to pretend he knew their names, or worse, have to go through the whole, 'hi, how are you? Who are you?' time waste. He had a noble duty to uphold at the moment. There was time for such things later.

Rick pushed himself from the table and started to leave, but stopped and leaned back giving Jordan a wink, "Nice lap warmer," He said giving he had a beautiful blond girl in his lap, wasn't that the American Dream? Normally, he would wait to exchange jokes and what not, but not today, he had places to be.

Moving to another table, Rick slid into the table housing Eddie, Rose, and any other person his mind was too distracted to take note of, "Hello guys and gals," he said, "You guys didn't happen to see Ellie or C. run through here have you? Kinda need to grab them for a super secret, awesome talk about a super secret, awesome project," He said before taking a bite from his apple.

Alana smiled leaning back into Jordan's arms. She smiled brightly at his comment of Fashion. "I'm so excited. I missed designing ocer the summer." She truly did. But she missed the praise she got from her designs more. She had a schetch book filled with designs she couldn't wait to show off.

At the arrival of Luca, Lana realized she should probably go. Not that she was worried about losing Jordan to her but she knew Jason much preffered Jordan being with Luca, than with Lana. Hell if Lana was honest he should be with Luca. Lana was too old for him, she was unreliable, and generally unpredictable. She rolled her eyes at Adams quick entry and exit before easing out of Jordans arms "Well I gotta go, I told Rose I was going to come back to sit with them" She said gesturing to Rose and Eddie. "See you later?" She said quickly kissing him on the cheek. She hugged Casey and nodded to Jason as well before she walked away.

Once she got back to her table she glared at Adam "Did you seriously call me lap candy?" said with a scoff. She turned her attention back to Rose. "So what are the hottest blondes on campus next move?" She said with a mischievous wink.

Rose was Lanas go to girl. They shared a real bond as well. Not the sister bond of her and Ariel but a bond of best friends that can only be achieved by a certain large amount of trust. A trust that the two of them shared.
"And where the hell is Ariel?" She asked feeling very uncertain and slightly annoyed that Ariel wasn't there.

When she finally spotted her she stood up and waved her over. She really didn't care who she was with. Ariel was her sister. Whoever she was with could tag along if they wanted. But she noticed her go outside. Lana pouted for a moment but decided to let it go.

Jordan waved Alana off with a dazed look in his eyes before regaining his composure and turning to the conversation at hand, taking Jason's orange juice for a sip before replacing it where it was. Casey smiled after Alana giving a faint wave. Jordan was not too happy with Rick for calling Alana a lap warmer, but what could he say? She was pretty.

Jason smiled at both Rick and Luca as they joined them, then lot Rick. Jason loved Rick, in a bromance sort of thing, not in like love love. That was saved for a special daughter of Zeus that Jason had difficulty talking to. He smiled as Rick made the comment about a lap warmer as that is all Alana is sometimes. That, and a girl always looking to have a bit of fun. Jason and Jordan both gave Rick a nod as they both knew they would definitely stop by Rick to get what he said to get.

Jason looked to Luca and said, "We didn't go. Jordan and I weren't if we'f know anyone." Jordan's eyes widened as he looked from the table to Luca then to the orange juice, not wanting to make eye contact and give himself away just in case he couldn't keep a straight face or something. "Yeah, you see, I had to finish some lyrics for a song," Jordan explains hoping that the excuse would pass by Jason which it did. Jason jut nodded, accepting the answer as if it was completely obvious.

"I didn't hear about it until a half hour before it started. I didn't have anyone to go with to make sure I knew people, so I just didn't bother trying," Casey says with a smile. She wasn't upset she missed it, but she wasn't happy she did either. It would have been an opportunity to meet and interact with people that she would need to live with.

"So, was that guy that came over the supplier?" Casey asks Jordan and Jason who both nod. "Yeah, that's Rick. He's a child of Hephaestus and a guy to go to for any trick you might need," Jason says with a wink as he sits back, careful to not spill his orange juice as he took a sip.

"So with capture the flag going on and all tonight, when are they having the bonfire?" Jason asks nobody in particular as he fiddles with a pick he carried on a necklace.

Robyn awoke with the sun shining in her face. She groaned at this and sat up in bed taking her a second to realize where she was. After that the blonde pushed herself out of the bed and stumbled towards the bathroom. You could say Robyn was never a morning person always preferring the night than the day. After she got dressed Robyn quickly made her way out her room heading down the steps of the dormitory seeing no one else foyer but that's what she expected since she woke up a bit late.

Heading towards the cafeteria Robyn shoved her hands in her pockets rolling her shoulders. She wasn't nervous she was just taken back by some of the sweet smells that came from the cafeteria. It made her stomach turn a little bit before it settled down. Upon entering the cafeteria Robyn scanned all around looking for someone to sit with when her eyes fell on Casey, the twins and a blonde chick walking away from the same table. She smiled to herself walking up to the line. She looked at all the food and made a funny face scrunching up her nose a bit.

She was never a heavy eater in the morning and so seeing all that food her stomach didn't quite approve of the sight. She grabbed a green apple and a bottle of water and made her way over to Casey sitting next to her. " Yo, Morning guys." She said in a cheerful tone as she took a bite out of her apple. Robyn looked around once more noticing Adam over at another table. I'll say hi later, I don't feel like getting up. After that quick thought her mind trailed off to someone else, Alaska. She had actually taken a liking to her and wanted to hang out again but she didn't see her yet this morning.

Casey looks up and smiles as she sees Robyn. "Hey, morning," Casey says with a smile. She was at this point trying to scoop out the last few bits of yogurt. "I am telling you Casey, you're going to love capture the flag. Maybe we should have taught you how to defend yourself at least a little bit though..." Jordan says with a thoughtful expression as he finishes off Jason's orange juice. His brother had just gone to talk to Ricky, but then left the cafeteria for some reason. His contacts were probably bothering him, which happened sometimes. Jordan could actually feel the discomfort Jason felt and rubbed his eyes though he knew it wouldn't go away until Jason took the contacts out.

"You okay Jordan?" Casey asks, her eyes somewhat curious as she watched the twin rub at his eyes. Jordan nodded his head. "Yeah, yeah. Jason's contacts are just bothering me," Jordan says with something that sounded like annoyance. Casey hesitates, then nods as if it made sense to her. Jordan waved away the question in her eyes as he looks over at Alana. His breath caught slightly as he saw her and wished he was there with her. "Class aught to start soon you know. Speaking of which, I need to get my stuff... I'll do it later," Jordan says lazily as he leans back in his chair.

Casey shook her head, bewildered by the strange Apollo twins reasoning. "So Robyn, have you ever played capture the flag before?" Casey asks, curious as to how it worked as the twins kept being vague about it, as if they wanted to have Casey figure it out by herself which wouldn't be a good idea. "Is there really weapons? Casey asks unsure why the faculty would allow a bunch of teens and young adults to fight each other with weapons over a flag. Was there something that Casey wasn't getting?

Kyle was sitting in the library, his head stuck in a book. He hadn't been able to fall asleep so he went to the library at 5:30 am and he'd been reading The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald ever since. Kyle was nearing the end of the book but he didn't want to go to class. He'd always hated school and he really wasn't friends with anyone besides Simon and Elinor but Elinor was in high school and Simon... Well he wasn't Elinor. Ever since Kyle had first met Elinor, he'd felt a strong attraction to her. He knew it was wrong because he was 19 and she was only 17 but the age difference made him want her even more.

Finally Kyle finished the book. He closed it and fitted it into it's proper place on the shelf. He knew he should eat but he didn't feel like it. He knew he'd pay for it later but oh well. Kyle made his way out of the Library and looked around. The soon was rising higher into the sky and it was a beautiful day. Kyle didn't know where he was going until he saw Elinor, Camden and Ariel sitting under a tree, eating their lunch..

Kyle walked up and waved at the group. "Hey." he smiled, sitting on the grass next to Elinor and Camden. Kyle fidgeted with his hands. He'd never been a good conversationalist and he didn't know what to talk about. He looked around nervously and bit his lip. "So how is everyone doing this fine morning?" he said. He mentally smacked himself. Way to look cool in front of Elinor.

“If people could see me the way I see myself - if they could live in my memories - would anyone love me?”

Picking away at her waffle with her fork, Luca decided it was probably best not to eat. She'd been ravenous earlier but- truthfully, she wasn't at all hungry now. Maybe it was the sight of the food- crisscrossed and perfectly topped with an uneven layer of icing sugar. Somehow, it was too imperfect for Luca.

"Bye, guys. I'm going to go prepare for class." She said to Casey and Jordan before sauntering off. They'd been visited by a throng of anonymous people, and deciding it was too much for her, she had wandered off. It hadn't take long for her to reach the water. The sun was higher in the sky now, and so she went for a swim. Water didn't affect her very much, so it was the perfect thing to do at this moment. Not many people swam in the lake, as its really not advisable- Luca knew this, but all she'd seen was the water nymphs lithe faces and the occasional normal fish.

A splash, and she was in the water. Her life was on tilt, bent forward, racing away from her faster than she could make sense of it. Ducking under the water she held her breath, taking a hand and moving it across the water in an attempt to swim. The water shrieked. It was not a voice, but it a promise of one. Of several others, actually. The world went dark quickly, and she emerged from the water, swimming back to shore. What the hell was that? Am I the only one that heard that? Shaking her head, she went back to her cabin and changed.

It was the promise of a new day that excited her most. After packing her bags ready for school, she took off outside. She stormed forward, her feet digging into the soft ground time after time as she searched for acquaintances. (Who were they?) She heard the other people's mindless chatter and soft alughter , she could hear their breath begin to shallow, and she could feel the entire energy of the camp grow more powerful. It was as if the place fed off of their happiness.

Coming in to a leafy place, she zig-zagged along the trees, keeping her pace at a steady jog. All at once, and it seemed like a flash, she was lying on the ground. She had bumped in to something- no, someone! She didn't recognize the face- maybe it was an Otto- Orpheus? Something with an 'O'.

"Oh my gosh, I'm sorry" She gushed. "Are you alright?"

Jason gave a nod with a small smile. "Think nothing of it. I got to get Jordan off his lazy butt and make sure we aren't late for class if you'll excuse me," Jason says with a small smile before waving at both of them with his only available hand before moving to go towards Jordan and Casey. Jordan turns his head to see Jason and smiles as he sees his bow. "Hey, my stuff. Class?" Jordan asks with a smile, though he didn't seem very happy about the class part.

Jason gives a fake reluctant nod before dumping Jordan's stuff off on the table. Casey looks at the weapons with wide eyes. "I thought you were kidding about weapons," Casey says in surprise as she looks at the bows and arrows. Jordan makes a funny face and shakes his head. "Yeah, no. What did you think about those swords and spears we saw kids carrying in when we arrived? None were fake," Jordan says with a smile as he gathers up his bow, slinging the quiver over his shoulder and grabbing his english notebook. It was a strange sight, a guy carrying a quiver with arrows and a notebook labled "English"... Definitely something that surprised Casey, but was normal to ever other half blood that was alive.

Jason nudges Jordan giving him a nod and motioning to the door with his head. "That's right, we got to go now if we're going to plant you know what you know where like you know who planned for us to," Jordan says making Jason nod yet Casey confused as she watches the twins leave, notebooks and bows in hand. On the way out though, Jordan stops by Alana's table, saying later to everyone there but giving Alana a kiss on the cheek as he moved quickly, chasing after Jason who didn't stop except to wave at those he didn't dislike at the table. In other words, everyone but Alana really.

Casey stared after the boys, wondering how they weren't quite expelled yet. "Such strange boys..." Casey says quietly as she finishes the small thing of yogurt in front of her, satisfied with the creamy food that served as her breakfast. She took another sip of water, savoring the liquid as it went down her throat. It always refreshed her even if she had already had gallons of water that day. It didn't surprise Casey really, but it was an interesting thing that wasn't... normal. Well, normal in the human world that is...

Sunlight filled the Melina's room as her eyes fluttered open, filling the room with a bright glow. The faint smell of the sea and salty breeze filled her nostrils. It was a scent that clung to the Poseidon dorms, and always made her feel like she was at the beach. She rubbed her eyes and ran a hand through her knotted hair, sighing. She never really liked mornings, or waking up early. Turning her head, she checked the clock on her nightstand and gasped. It was late. Really late. It seemed that her alarm didn't pull her out of her deep sleep this morning. Throwing her covers off, she darted into the bathroom and took a hot shower. She finished her morning routine as quickly as possible.

Walking back out, Melina got dressed in a maroon tank top and white shorts. She hurriedly ran a brush through her hair and went into the main hall. The hallways were all empty, and she noted that her siblings had left already. She gazed thoughtfully up at the statue of Poseidon that towered over her, before leaving the dormitory.

A pleasant breeze greeted Melina as she stepped out the door. She still had a little time effort classes started. The camp was alive with activity as students went about their business. Melina walked in a brisk pace, angling herself towards the cafeteria. Hunger gripped at her, and she needed to put something in her stomach before class. As the hall came into view, she could see the clusters of campers around it. There were many faces she recognized, and smiled over at a few before ducking into the cafeteria. The twins, Jordan and Jason, rushed passed her with a multitude of weapons in their arms. She gave them a confusing look before going to the breakfast line. She lost a few precious minutes as she mulled over her options for breakfast, before she settled on a banana but muffin and some coffee.

She turned from the line and glanced around at the tables, and spotted Casey, her half sister. As Melina headed for her table, she noticed a lone figure sitting by the window. She recognized him as Darren, and smiled. "Good morning, Darren," she greeted.

Classes have started for the students.
The University students are currently in Power Control situated in the training courts.
The high school students are in either English or Maths class.

Image
Image

The class had started 15 minutes ago. The teacher, one Mr Frank Solomon, had first greeted the returning students warmly, obviously pleased to find the majority alive and relatively sane. His instructions had then been to enjoy the first day of classes. He had given them several options, each designed to help them get out of their holiday funk and get back into the swing of things. Set up at the further end of the training courts was a collection of targets and dummies, ranging in shapes and sizes. Some were stationary and some would move when in play. All offered a good place for students who wished to exercise control and train their precision with their powers. Closer to him, where he could watch and make sure that nobody went overboard, were the sparring areas. These were places where students could have mock fights against each other, using their powers to defeat their opponents. Of course, actually hurting anyone was against the rules, hence why Mr Solomon was hovering nearby. As usual for those not inclined to fighting, tables had been erected to the side to allow students, usually Athena and Hephaestus' children, to but their brains to the test. In between each area other students had come up with their own lesson plan, each stretching out their powers in their own way.

Amelia had been inclined to head down to the set up of dummies. There she, and the other students who had picked the moving targets, were busy decimating the Academy's population of stuffed targets. With a grin Amelia sent another sizzling bolt of lightning flying towards the dummy, reducing it to a smouldering heap of ash in seconds. Her hands were buzzing with miniature lightning bolts, the air around her seemed to be giving off a slightly static vibe and she couldn't help but smile. She sighted down the range again, threw her hands up in front of her and sent a flurry of lightning bolts flying towards a target set up halfway down the range. It exploded in an eruption of smoke and Amelia turned her attention to the next target. This one popped out of the ground on her left side, moving forward on it's mechanism. It was shaped like a mythical hall hound and ran low to the ground. Even so it didn't stand a chance as Amelia sent another bolt of lightning flying at it.

She took a step back from the moving targets, both to let her peers have a go and to catch her breath. Power control was undoubtedly one of Amelia's favourite classes. Where else was she able to use her gift without the fear of hurting another person? After all, lightning wasn't exactly the most pleasant thing to be hit with. She loved the feeling of it's power racing through her and had to resist going overboard. As she caught her breath, Amelia glanced around the courts. She spotted Eddie lounging on the sidelines and couldn't help but shake her head. She knew that his powers weren't really the active, fighting type. They were dangerous in their own way, or they could be if he trained them, but she understood his fear about losing control of them. Insanity wasn't something easy to control. But, he'd never learn how to if he simply sat and did nothing. With a shrug Amelia turned her attention back to the targets.

Ariel sat at the back of the Maths class, choosing to block out most of what Miss Francis, the teacher, was saying. Class was really not her thing. She would much rather be out socialising, or attending VIP events. Sitting here was not her idea of a good time. So instead of tuning into the lesson Ariel was staring at her nails, tapping each finger nail with her opposite hand and changing the colour with her powers. She had always been glad that her power over make-up extended to her nails. It meant that she always had the perfect nail colour and didn't have to spend money on the actual polish, not that money had ever been a problem for her. Ariel had just settled on a pastel green for one hand when she was jolted from her thoughts.

"Miss Lee, are you paying attention?" The teacher, Miss Francis asked across the silent room. Ariel glanced up from her hands to find Miss Francis staring at her, her arms folded across her chest and her own unpainted nails tapping quietly against her opposite arm. Ariel felt no fear towards the teacher. How could she when the woman was wearing a hideous floral dress matched with a pair of last seasons sandals? "No Miss. I was doing my nails." Ariel replied, smiling serenely at the woman. Miss Francis stared at Ariel, not quite sure how to react to the girl. It was obvious that she had never had Ariel as a student, or she would have let the comment go. As it was Miss Francis was willing to give Ariel a chance. She cleared her throat and pointed to a particular problem on the board, "Please Miss Lee, what is the answer to this problem?" Ariel cast a lazy look at the board. There was no way she could answer that. So instead she called on her favourite weapon, her powers. Subtly was the answer and Ariel had mastered that long ago. It was slightly harder at the Academy given that here powers were common place, but that didn't make it impossible. "I don't know Miss." Ariel replied clearly, giving Miss Francis her best smile. Then, with a mental push she thrust a collection of emotions at Miss Francis. Miss Francis, about to frown at Ariel and no doubt tell her off, suddenly paused. Her face took on a content expression as she turned her gaze from the question to Ariel. Miss Francis gave Ariel a kind smile and shook her head. "Well then. That's alright. We'll move along." She said before rubbing the problem off and turning to the next one.

Ariel rolled her eyes at Miss Francis' back. She hadn't been much of a challenge. It had only taken a small amount of happiness, contentment and acceptance to make her change her tune. Really, Ariel would never be able to grow her power if she was forced to solely manipulate people as weak minded as Miss Francis. However, she had another year before she could legally leave the Academy, so it would be another year until she was able to step out into the world and put her considerable talents to good use.

Casey watched with surprise as the teacher of her math class asked one of the girls if she was listening. Casey hadn't been which wasn't good, but she hadn't expected someone else would be called out on it which brought her attention back to the rather boring discussion. This material wasn't easy and thanks to Casey being a natural terrible math person, things were really bad.

Her eyes watched as the teacher seemed to just accept that the girl who was called 'Mrs. Lee' answered she didn't know. Great a teacher who seemed to be rather forgiving even when she just stated that someone wasn't paying attention... It was strange to see the change in attitude. Could this be the girl that she had been told about? Ariel? The one who could make people feel the way she wanted them to feel? Well. that's rather strange, and somewhat stupid. How would anyone want to hang out with her when they may not know if they're feeling what they want to feel or if they're feeling what Ariel wants them to feel? It was getting rather confusing for Casey now too, so she gave up in trying to figure out the puzzle.

A fellow beside her took had taken out his notebook and been the last one to show up. He looked somewhat dirty and rather sweaty, as if he had been running maybe. Wasn't he a child of Hades? One of the guys that the twins avoided? Maybe, maybe not. Oh well. Casey knew she shouldn't stare so she looked back at the board. Greek... great. How could Casey read ancient Greek when Latin was supposed to be a dead language, and was younger than Greek? How wonderful.

Casey sighed as she sank back down, hoping that something good would come into her situation. She stared at the varying letters, some looking similar to the English alphabet while some looked like scribbles from the Apollo kids' sketchbooks when they displayed them, or Casey caught sight of them. The letters seemed to change, or maybe it was Casey's eyes, or her head, but a second later Casey was able to understand some of the Greek. It was weird, as if magic... never mind it being weird.

Casey looked back over at the fellow beside her, wondering his name before looking down at her notebook and trying to draw something that didn't look like scribbles.

Jason smiled as he sat back in English. It was his favorite class considering it allowed him to practice poetry without getting in trouble. It also helped him when he was working on his songs with Jordan, or when he just wanted to work on songs. The classroom seemed somewhat dull with it's occupants seemingly bored out of their mind. Why were demigods with super unnatural parents and powers learning English? it didn't make much sense to Jason though he was not complaining about the class like Jordan did sometimes.

Jason's eyes wandered to his brother sitting behind Camden where he was seeing how long he could hold his breath. It was quite annoying to watch as Jordan kept cheating though he gave up a minute or so later as he then took up his pencil and began writing something down. Jason wasn't sure what Jordan was writing down or what language he was writing it down in. They both knew Ancient Greek and could speak it well enough though they both preferred to stick with English majority of the time.

Jason's thoughts flitted to Amelia as he sat there, daydreaming and not bothering to look at the board, but out the window right beside his desk. It was always much better to sit in the sun than where Jordan was, stuck in the back to avoid being the one that caught everyone's eyes. The two had been split up politely by their teacher though the teacher didn't know it wouldn't do a single thing in the twins situation. They had been in two different states at one point in their life, yet their teacher in elementary school had received their prank with specific clarity, ensured by Jordan.

Jordan sat writing down whatever came to mind. There had been a tune in his head that morning and that was already scribbled at the top of the notebook paper in a simple melodic way that only he and Jason understood. To any other person, it would look like a simple boring song, but when the twins saw it, they knew how to decipher the music to keep others from stealing the song.

Jordan sat up as he heard his name being mentioned. It was only there for a moment before he went back down. The teacher must have been explaining something to a first year. Probably not what to do in class. It was a lot easier to find examples when it involved two twins who were often in trouble and more often than not, the ones to blame. Jordan moved his bow a bit under his desk, annoyed that it was in the way of someone beside him. Don't people know that you don't touch another persons weapon?

His English teacher didn't seem too surprised to see it though she did ask that Jordan didn't actually load it in class ever... When Jordan had asked about a highly unlikely scenario involving a hydra and a few hellhounds, she told him he could use it, but only in that specific situation. So should a hydra and eight hellhounds show up, Jordan was to use his bow to kill them then sit down and pay attention again. Other than that... no bow... oh well.

Kyle was standing off to the side watching all the young demigods practice their Powers. It was Power and Control class, after all. Kyle wasn't too keen on this class. He didn't have the crazy powers that needed control. If anything he needed a "better attitude" class. Most of his ill use of powers came from an outburst. Watching the others, he felt a sort out envy wash over him. He had the ability to poison people and grow plants at will, but he didn't really classify that as a cool power.

Kyle was also never one to crave attention so he sat back in the shadows. He was an observer, not a doer. Kyle glanced around the room and saw Simon sitting on the floor, surrounded by a dark Aura. Simon was one of the only persons in the group he didn't absolutely despise. Don't get him wrong, Kyle didn't dislike everyone, but he only liked the company of a select few. Kyle studied him because, well there was nothing better to do. He seemed to be in a trance. He wondered if Simon was actually aware of what was going on or if it was a tunnel vision, where all he could focus on was his magic.

Kyle crept towards the bleachers where Simon sat and leaned against one of the supports. "Ooo this is some creepy dark magic." Kyle grinned, walking around. He sat down on the ground across of Simon, just watching him. He figured this might be creepy but he was fascinated with that he was doing.

Alaska sat in the third row of English class. English was her favourite class but she found it was hard to keep her eyes open today. She didn't have a lot of sleep and today's lecture on grammar was particularly boring. Alaska allowed herself to lean back in her chair and quietly yawn. The birds were singing outside and she longed to get some fresh air. Alaska already knew everything the teacher was talking about so she found it pointless to listen. She sat back up, sitting straight and glanced around.

Alaska scanned the classroom and found her eyes resting on Jordan Brooks. He was just 1 of the Brooks Twins but Alaska always found herself fascinated by him. He was adorable in that stupid way. She watched as he adjusted the bow under his desk so it didn't bother him. Only he would bring a full on bow into class. But then again that is something she might do but she'd be more reluctant to do that. Alaska glanced down at the notebook on her desk. She used it to write down her feelings and poetry. It was brand new for this school year but she already had a couple entries.

Alaska flipped the page to a new entry and started to write. She wasn't even conscious of what she was writing until it was there in front of her. She stared at the page and then she furiously scribbled over the entry, closing the notebook rather loudly. She looked up to make sure no one was staring at her for the scene she just caused. Alaska sighed and held her head in her hands.

Eddie Greer had been enjoying a pleasant nap on the Training Field stands when the angry voice of the professor broke through his day dreams, "Greer!" Professor Solomon exclaimed as he leaned over him, his hands on his hips and eyes partially closed in a glare, "Why aren't you doing something useful? Even the Aphrodite girl is training her powers, and you're here snoozing."
Eddie followed Solomon's hand towards where Alana was just finishing her training. Returning his attention to Prof. Frank Solomon, Eddie gave him the best shrug he could give while still lying down, "What do you want me to do, coach?" Eddie asked, "I'm already an expert at changing liquids. Do you want me to practise making people insane? Who'd wanna volunteer for that?" The pair had had this argument before, in fact it seemed to repeat every week or so.
"Insanity is no joke, which is exactly why you need to control it." Professor Solomon persisted, "I'm sure we have something constructed that will allow you to practise your abilities without harming anyone. I hate to think what you could do if you lost control." The last part of Professor Solomon's little talk was more of a reflection than a comment aimed directly at Eddie. Even so, it hit a cord and Eddie's light, careless attitude suddenly became remarkably chillier. "Fine. Whatever." He said as he pushed himself up into a sitting position. In a swift motion he stood up, almost knocking Professor Solomon off balance as he did. Without a backward glance Eddie turned and walked off the bleachers, leaving the professor to wonder if he had convinced Eddie to practise or simply angered him.

In fact Eddie was neither more inclined to practice, nor angry. The comment about him losing control had simply brought on a more serious Eddie, one that didn't come out very often. He hadn't told anybody about the one and only time he lost complete control of his power and accidentally made his neighbour insane. It isn't something that he likes to think about, much less share. Even the idea of training such a power has always frightened him. Who could say if he could even control it? Eddie glanced around the training arena, seeking anything to take his mind off the thought of insanity. He saw various people chatting, practising and so forth, but eventually his eyes lit upon Alana. Plastering a smile on his face he jogged up behind her and slung an arm around her shoulders.
"You were actually doing work, and on the first day." He teased, "What happened to wanting to do something 'naughty'?" He continued, removing his arm in order to make bunny ears with his fingers as he said 'naughty'.

Amelia smiled and nodded at Cyrus' advice, making a mental note to look into his suggestions. It always paid to listen to ideas made by Athena's kids since they usually proved most helpful. In response to Amelia's question regarding the game of Capture the Flag, Cyrus frowned before replying. His answer was, as always, comprehensive, although she would have to correct him in his belief that Ariel possessed Charm speak. While the daughter of Aphrodite was very gifted in persuading people to follow her orders, this was thanks to a talent with manipulating people and knowing how to push and pull on emotions to get what she wanted.

Amelia also couldn't help but grin as Cryus admitted to not finding her pretty, nor Alana. Amelia glanced across at the blonde girl, who had just been approached by Eddie Greer. It would definitely be a bad idea to let either daughter of Aphrodite hear anyone questing their beauty. "That's a very brave stance to take." Amelia replied, smiling. Amelia had always thought it was more than just looks that made a person attractive or not, and while Ariel might have been pretty on the outside, inside she was as ugly as they come.

"Do you think they watch? I'm sure you've made your father proud. I'm sure he's visited you to tell you this. Sometimes, I think I have my mother's favour in "Capture the Flag", but then I realize I was just imagining it." Cyrus said a moment later, to which Amelia could only shake her head.
"The first and last time Zeus came to see me was when I was one." She admitted with a shrug, "I suppose they've got more important things to do than constantly watch us." She had always known that her father, as King of the Gods, had to set an example. If he was down here every other day visiting his children, than all the Gods and Goddesses would be. She liked to think that was the reason why he didn't visit. Sometimes a student would receive a sign from their godly parent, but more often than not the kids were left to their own devices.

The whoosh of a spear as it flew above Amelia and Cyrus' heads brought Amelia out of her thoughts. She glanced around and realised that chatting in the middle of the training grounds was probably not the best place. "Maybe we should move to the sidelines." Amelia said to Cyrus, she glanced towards the sidelines and quickly spotted a place free of flying weapons. Said spot was also directly beside Rick, so the move would also allow her to solve the mystery of what he had been doing watching her so intently. She also couldn't help but notice that Elinor Mansell was standing with Rick. She frowned slightly as she watched the pair. Elinor should have been in her own class, but Amelia had to remind herself that she wasn't the teacher. While she might disapprove of Elinor's actions, as long as it wasn't harming anyone else she could let it slide.
Amelia walked a few paces, then stopped and glanced back at Cyrus to see if he was joining her.

Ariel would have gone to sleep at her desk if she hadn't been concious of the possibility of snoring in class. Maths was the furthest thing from interesting and right now the teacher was doing her best to make it even worse. Didn't the teacher know that it was the first day of school. You weren't meant to do any actual work. She glanced across at the various students in the class. The Hades' kid needed a shower and a change of clothes, beside him sat the blonde girl who Ariel was sure she hadn't seen before. Either because she was new, or else because Ariel hadn't bothered to learn who she was. A few other students caught her attention, but not long enough to distract her from the dull lesson.

With a sigh of exasperation Ariel picked up her bag and pulled the strap over her shoulder. As she pushed her chair back it made a loud screeching sound, drawing the attention of most of the class and the teacher too.
"Miss Lee?" She asked, frowning slightly as Ariel walked swiftly to the head of the room, "Can I help you with anything?"
"I was just wondering if I could go? I think I need to lie down for a while." Ariel lied sweetly, giving the teacher her best innocent smile. Her words were laced with concern, caring and contentment and aimed directly at Miss Francis. Miss Francis looked momentarily angry before a concerned smile appeared on her face. The teacher's hand grabbed Ariel's arm, clutching tightly, "Of course you can. Take as much time off as you need." Miss Francis said, her words almost shaking with emotion. Ariel watched as Miss Francis' face quickly changed from slightly concerned to bordering on manic. Tears welled up in Miss Francis' eyes and the thought crossed Ariel's mind that perhaps she had overdone it slightly this time. Miss Francis seemed to have gone from mildly caring, as Ariel had intended it, to caring too much.

"Get off." Ariel urged, somewhat rudely as she tried to shake Miss Francis' hand off. The situation had quickly gotten out of hand and Ariel was trying not to show any outward signs of worry for the sake of her reputation. Even so, she couldn't help but flinch slightly as Miss Francis' grip increased. In an attempt to make the teacher unhand her, Ariel pushed several more emotions onto her. It was a rather hasty job and might just as easily have backfired on Ariel. Luckily though, the emotions seemed to have worked and with a start Miss Francis let go of Ariel. The teacher took a step back, her hand flew to her mouth and the slightly manic expression was replaced with a sad one. Ariel stayed just long enough to see Miss Francis burst into tears (no doubt the effect of the sadness she had given her), before turning on her heel and quickly making her exit.

She stopped just down the corridor, far enough that she could ignore Miss Francis' echoing sobs. With a frown she pulled the sleeve of her shirt back so that she could see the slowly forming bruise left by Miss Francis' fingers. Ariel quietly cursed herself for losing control of the situation. It wasn't something she did often and she hated to think what the other students would think of her now.
