[center]History:
Allie was the second daughter to be born to her father, Stephen, and mother Annie. Her sister Beth was first, and it was nice growing up alongside her, at least, until she was three, that is. Then along came her brother. It was a pretty good childhood. She got along well with her brother and sister, and later on, her new brother and sister, especially Meghan.

Allie developed an interest in fashion at a young age. She will never forget 'borrowing' her mother's clothes when she was 8, along with her high heels and makeup, before making a triumphant display in front of her mother and father. Her father had laughed at her; she was funny to him, but needed some practise. It was the first step she took into the fashion industry. It soon became apparent that along with a fashion sense and a love for clothes and makeup, Allie was pretty amazing at drawing. She would sit for hours and sketch whatever came into her head, which improved with her age. School wasn't an ordeal for Allie, either. She had a few good friends, and hung around with the artists and thespian types. High school was especially good for Allie. She had the time of her life, although she didn't have the luck to fall in love. She passed her exams with flying colours, and aced her art and textiles exams. She started figure skating for fun and hasn't given up.

However, everything changed when she got to fashion school, and she met Nate.

Nate didn't attend her university, but Nate did change her life. He was alluring, charming, everything that Allie had ever wished for. A few dates, a visit to a coffee shop, and countless hours spent drawing him, and Allie was in love. He was kind and loving throughout university, but everything changed on graduation day. He changed completely. As soon as they got home, he began checking her phone, shouting at her, asking if she loved him. Allie was astounded by the sudden change. What had happened to him? However, he soon cooled off. The pattern began to repeat, though. He would be incredibly romantic one second, the next, he would hit her and scream at her, asking her stupid questions, and threaten her. This continued, a hidden secret in Allie's life, for many years. She truly loved Nate, but the cruel things he did were unforgivable to Allie.

That's when she found out she was pregnant.

It wasn't long ago, either. A few days ago, at most. But he lost it. He hit her more times than she could count, and then he was gone. Allie cut off communications to everyone for a few days. His disappearance hurt a lot. But it was christmas time, and although she felt hurt, and hurt deeply, she decided that she couldn't ignore her family forever. She picked herself up, contacted her mother and began working as a fashion designer at her mother's company. She is working towards being able to take over from her mother once she has passed on... However, she isn't trusting of anyone new anymore, especially not her step-father, and she's still trying to find a way to tell her family that the next member of a new generation is on the way.

[font=garamond]| Kind | Compassionate | Understanding | Sensitive | Selfless |
Allie is probably one of the nicest people you could meet. She loves everything - animals, people, nature. It's just the way she is. Often, her kindness can make her naive, and trust people too easily. However, she has hardened recently and won't let herself trust anyone new. Allie is also an extremely good listener, and can offer comfort to anyone who needs it, due to her understanding and compassionate nature. If anyone needs a hug, Allie will be sure to give you one. She's extremely trustworthy, even if she doesn't trust.

However, Allie has recently become very quiet, and very shy. She flinches if anyone reaches out to touch her. She doesn't speak out of turn. She trembles if outside on her own. She hates talking about certain things, including her relationships. She can't be in the same room as a rom-com. She's extremely sensitive now, and she hasn't opened up to anyone about why. This is because she's extremely selfless - she believes it's a waste of other people's time to ask for help. She hates admitting her weakness, and has kept it a secret to this day, along with many other things. However, she's not very good at hiding her discomfort. It's pretty easy to tell something's not right, but it's not as easy to make her spill the beans.

It's Christmas time in New York City, and the city is covered in snow, as well as Richmond mansion. The city is still awake at night, even with the snow trucks out clearing the streets, living up to it's city origin, 'the city that never sleeps.' Even with things all hustle and bustle, the Richmond family finds time in all of their equally busy schedules, somewhat, to come together and spend the holidays like they were meant to.

With family.

However, not everyone in this household agrees with the other's doings, and it could be a time of great stress, or a time of great happiness. Only time will tell for this odd family.

All the children are coming to their mother's nest, via car, plane, train, bus, or whatever they can get a ride on. Let us all have a very Merry Christmas!

Ah, yes. How could she forget? It was that time of year again.

The time of year where the trees died, from her mother's off-key voice singing 'Jingle Bells' far too many times. Where children ran inside instead of playing in the freshly fallen snow, because her mother would push them off the sidewalk, her arms littered with brand name shopping bags.

Meghan Richmond awoke in her small, crappy apartment located in San Francisco. The weather here didn't get below freezing, and she had no snow clothes in her wardrobe, compared to the boxes and boxes stuffed to the brim in her childhood years. She sighed as she sat up from bed. "Dear God." She muttered, and flung off the covers, throwing herself in a whirl of panic, grabbing her luggage, and trying to squeeze herself into a pair of black skinny jeans, the same ones she wore last year. Then, her outfit was soon complete after adding a shirt, denim jacket, and neutral colored scarf, which she was surprised that she found in her closet.

She was just about to walk out the door when it hit her. Brian. Brian was coming with her this year. "Shit.." She sighed, and took a deep breath, before getting her phone out, and texting him.

To: Brian
"Hey baby! So, are you ready to go? I'm heading over now. Like, right now."

She grinned as it sent, and locked the door behind her, then threw her rolling luggage into the back of her beetle, and revved the engine.

Thank goodness, his home wasn't too far from hers, but still a drive. She giggled as she pulled up in his driveway, and honked the horn a few times. "Brian! Briaaann!!" She squeaked, and eventually got out of the car, with it still running, and walked a few steps towards his door. "C'mon slowpoke!" She giggled as she saw the handsome man appear, and kissed his cheek once they were both in her car.

"Are you ready for the craziest Christmas of your life?"

He woke to his phone buzzing against his bed side table and grumbled a little in response before grabbing it and checking the text from his girlfriend. He sighed out a little finding it hard to leave his cosy bed but today was a big day and she didn’t live too far so he had to get moving.
Brian got dressed quickly, throwing on layer after laying; a fresh white tank top, a wooly jumper and a thick dark jacket preparing for the cold that New York offered.
When he heard Meghan pull up he had just slid on his grey pants and smiled to himself at her honking a few times.

He had been good to pack the previous day but his hair remained as the famous bed hair as he met her outside. “You’re bossy,” he told her, placing his luggage in the back then climbed in the passenger seat to receive a kiss on the cheek.

Brian sighed out as if releasing the nerves and tension then looked to her. “The craziest Christmas of my life? I’m not sure how I feel about that,”he admitted and laughed nervously and rubbed his hands together. “You have a big family too, right?”

Her husband didn't come home last night. She knew that for much. He wasn't laying beside her in bed. Of course he said he was going to be late at the office. But maybe he was lying to her. Of course she told him that he needed to be at her parents somehow today. But she was going to go. Her parents were okay people. She didn't mind them but they were a bit wacky especially her mother the only living parent at the time.

She got out of bed and changed into her set out outfit. She changed into it and went down her apartment steps and down to her car.

She had actually slept in since she was awake late last night trying to stay up for her husband. She wasn't all to happy about that. She was a tad excited to see her family. She loved them all. Being the oldest she was used to being so filled with all those people. It just hurt being in that area.

She drove down the streets known to leading to her house. She parked a little bit of a mile from the house and grabbed out her laptop that had her latest book that she was writing. She turned it on and began to type a bit. She didn't want to go in just yet.

Image
Image

She was so excited. Her entire family was going to be coming home!!! It was so exciting she had told the office she would only work on small odds and ends at home but not come to the office. She had seen them at Thanksgiving but so much could happen since then.

She woke up jumped out of bed practically and put on her outfit she had all set out and ready. She changed into it and ran down the steps. She hadn't decorated much of the house. She wanted to do that with the family.

She only had her office at her company dressed up in Christmas stuff. She was so excited after dinner she planned to make everyone all go together to the tree lot and buy a Christmas tree. She was so excited because she planned to make this the Christmas never to forget.

She felt she lost a bond when their father died. He always seemed to be closer then she ever was to the kids. But she planned on changing that especially for the guy she was seeing whom she invited to spend Christmas with. She went to the kitchen and tied an apron around her waist.

She then decided she would start by making a black forest cake. She made it and put it wrapped with plastic wrap.

She decided to spoof the place up by cleaning a bit. Although the house was perfectly clean she wanted to make sure it was perfect for the kids. She was really excited and couldn't wait for the kids to come home with their friends or family.

She made sure their bedrooms were all set up for them. And she had all the guest rooms cleaned up for the people who were coming with them. She couldn't wait.

Meghan couldn't believe she hadn't left yesterday. They lived in San Francisco. Her childhood in New York. Express Air Travel it was.

"I'm bossy?" She shook her head as she drove towards the airport. "Yes, I have an.. Unusual as well as bigger family." She smiled towards him without taking her eyes off the road.

Soon enough, they both were on the plane which was about to take off. They'd both be in New York soon. Meghan wondered if she should let her sister know they were in fact on their way. She pulled out her phone.

To: Allina
"Hey Sweets! I'm on the way over to Mom's, since I'm loterally across the country from our old house. ;) "

After everything settled on the plane, as they had a little rocky takeoff, Meghan looked to her seemingly nervous boyfriend of almost a year, in 2 months. "Are you holding up okay, girly?" She smiled, leaning her head on his shoulder, and their hands intertwined. "I wonder what the kids think about Mr. Archer being so nervous?" Meghan chuckled, sighing as she closed her eyes.

{I know I'm posting twice, but they had to get them at least on the plane, since they're across the country.}

Allie stared at the pregnancy test that lay on the floor, halfway across the living room to her. Her cheeks were stained with tears; her body ached from where he hit her, and her heart felt like it had shattered. He had gone. He had left her all alone, with this tiny life growing inside of her.

How on Earth was she supposed to tell her family?

Wiping her hand across her face, she stood up and made her way to the white tiled bathroom in her expensive apartment. Luckily, this was still legally hers - Nate couldn't take that from her. She still had a home, a home for her and baby. She felt terrible, though. She wanted to lay down and stare at the ceiling for the rest of eternity. Christmas was a few days away... She still had time to set up something to tell everyone. Besides, they might even be supportive!

To be honest, though, that was being a bit optimistic.

Just then, her phone buzzed. She quickly splashed her face with cold water, washing away any remains of tears, before walking back into the living room and picking up her iPhone from the glass table. It was a text from her little sister. She smiled and opened the text.

From: Meggie <3
Hey Sweets! I'm on the way over to Mom's, since I'm loterally across the country from our old house. ;)

The few words on the screen made Allie smile a little. She could feel her eyes water up again. This was one of the first symptoms of pregnancy, right? Wacky emotions? She sighed to herself, before quickly typing a reply back.

To: Meggie <3
"Great! I can't wait to see you! This Christmas is going to be awesome, I can already tell!"

Well, that was partially true. It could either be amazing, or go awfully. She hoped it would be the former, but she certainly felt like the latter was more likely. She sighed through her nose and placed the phone back on the table. She decided to get ready to go, changing into her outfit for the day, before putting on her favourite Fall Out Boy song on the audio system. Soon enough, Sugar We're Going Down was blasting out, and Allie couldn't help but rock out a little bit. However, all too soon she was ready to head off. She grabbed her bag, stuffing her phone into her pocket, and pulled her coat around her. Deciding she was warm enough, she grabbed her keys and headed out of the door, ready to meet her family once more.

"Oh, honey you don't need to help. You are here visiting. Visitors don't need to help. So, how did you meet the cute boyfriend?"
Meghan heard so many things wrong with that sentence. "First of all, I am not a visitor. This used to be my house, ya know. Secondly, that's like the oldest Mom trap in the book." She smirked, and then surveyed her mother's old hands on her shoulders, and slowly removed them before chuckling. "Wouldn't you like to know." She mumbled, before sighing.

"He's an elementary school teacher. Mr. Archer. I'm the photographer that takes his kiddos pictures." She said matter-of-factly. Straightening herself as she stood, her fingers traced the hem of her shirt.

"Where are my siblings?" She wondered towards her mother, cocking her head to the side. "You did invite them, didn't you? I didn't think I was that unusually early." She trailed off.

Annie looked at her daughter. She loved her, but she could be a little stuck up to certain things. "I know baby but its just. I want you to be treated without work to do. Well haven't you known. Your mom is old baby girl." She said with a smile towards her daughter.

She listened as her daughter spoke about her boyfriend making her think of her own she had invited to stay with them for Christmas. She wondered where he was to be honest.

"Maybe they chickened out? And I always invite you all. No your not early. And he sounds amazing keep him. He is a gentleman from what I seen and he works with kids it means he may want kids." She said giving her daughter a smile.

Beth looked at her finished work. She had done it she had completed another chapter of her book. She was parked for and noticed already a car at the house from her binoculors. She didn't know if she wanted really to go there if there was only one person. Maybe she would wait for more people to come and sneak in with them.

She didn't really enjoy her mother's hounding questions. Of her husband or where soem grandkids were. They were annoying and she was so sick and annoyed of her mother for them. So she planned to write some more and wait for someone else to come before she went.

Allie hadn't realized that the traffic was going to be so bad. It had been snowing, so the roads were bad at best, but she knew she should have factored in the fact that it was almost Christmas, and last minute shopping was to be done. By everyone at once.

Allie cursed herself for deciding to drive. She was sat in the car, music thumping through the speakers, trying to drown out the thoughts. She drummed her fingers on the steering wheel, when a text came through the blutooth system in the car.

To: Allina
"Hurry up and get over here! I need you to see something!"

Allie couldn't help but grin. She spoke her reply into the car quickly.

To: Meggie <3
On my way. What, am I getting christmas presents early or something? Also, traffic sucks.

It was sent successfully and she exhaled, sighing slightly. Her family was crazy, that was for sure. She shook her head, and noticed that the traffic was moving. Relieved, she hit the gas.

It wasn't long afterwards that Allie had arrived at the Richmond family home. Just seeing the place brought back memories of her childhood. She smiled to herself, before taking the personalised packages off of the car seat beside her and tucking them under arm; she opened the door of the car with her spare hand and slid out, slamming the door behind her. She spotted Beth, lurking around, with - was that a pair of binoculars? Laughing and shaking her head, she headed over to her older sister. "Hey, Beth." She greeted her. She hoped it wasn't too obvious that she had been crying earlier, or that she was showing or something. Yeah, she was probably not far enough along to even be showing, but who knows. "Come on, we better get inside. It's freezing out here, plus I have presents." She raised her eyebrows once, before turning and heading towards the house. "Anyway, how are you? It's been so long since we've seen each other! She put a smile on her face, trying to seem normal. She headed up to the gate, buzzing in. "Hey, Mom! It's Allie and Beth. Can you let us in? I have presents to pop under the tree later." She waited for a few minutes, smiling at her shoes, before heading inside the gates and ringing the doorbell. Hopefully her mother wasn't too busy interrogating poor Meg about her life over the past year. She exhaled softly, waiting to see what sort of events and bizarre happenings would happen this time around.

Beth looked as a car passed slowly she was spotted ugh. She sighed as her sister came over. She decided just to keep her car parked there. She smiled over at Allina. "Hey Alliana. Is something wrong? Were you crying?" She got out of car and gave her a hug. She walked with her to the house and smiled.

"Yes it has been a while little sis." She said with a smile towards her sister.

She looked towards the door when she heard another one of her daughters yell at the door. "I told you I invite all my kids. It takes time to come you know."

She said practically running towards the door. She was so excited all she was doing was waiting for a few more kids to show up and that boyfriend of hers. She opened the door and smiled at two beautiful daughters of hers.

"They come in twos!" She practically screamed out then giving both her daughters big hugs. "Mother lovely to see you again." She said making her way into the house. "Allina you look beautiful as always could use a bit mascara but like I said gorgeous. And how is everything with my sweetheart." She said smiling as she moved out of the way for her other daughter to come into the house.

Adam took a deep breath. He had been dating Annie awhile and he was finally meeting her kids. He knew it wouldn't be without its challenges. But it would go well. At least that's what he told himself. He had bought gifts for the whole family, wracking his brain for the right one. He found himself staring blankly at clothes, jewelry, electronics and so on, until his eyes glazed over and a salesperson came to the rescue. He didn't wrap them. For his own children, he used old comics from newspapers. They loved carefully ripping off the paper and reading it later over pancakes. But Annie's children were grown. He didn't know what to expect.

He opened the front door, hoping no one had arrived yet. But there were two of her daughters. Two... I can handle two... With a smile he held out a hand and introduced himself, "Hi, I'm Adam. You must be Annie's daughters... Beth and... Allina, right? Nice to meet you," He caught Annie's eye for a moment, hoping he hadn't messed up their names, hoping he was making a decent impression.

Matty pulled up and parked at the house. He looked at the gate and sighed, flooded with fond memories of his childhood. Shaking his head and smiling, he finished his food and energy drink from the gas station. Remembering his phone had received a message a while ago, he picked up the phone and thumbed through his messages. Besides the normal greetings from different women, his sister had sent him a text.

From: Lil

"Hurry up, you slow person! Mom's going haywire, I swear I smell fruit cake.."

Matty turned around and looked in the backseat. A number of wrapped—poorly wrapped—presents stared back at him. Enough for his family plus some additional ones in case others came. Shrugging and deciding to bring them in later, he stepped out the car and pulled a couple bags from the trunk. After hearing the satisfying thunk of his trunk closing, he strolled to the gate, pushing the call button.

“Hey guys! Come on it’s freezing out here!”

That was no lie. He instinctively pulled his coat around him tighter as the air whisked by. When the door opened he smiled with relief at the warm air.

Beth watched as another man walked into the house and called her by her name. Her mother had a boyfriend? Now this was going to be an interesting Christmas. She watched as Meghan walked in and started swearing and making a scene. She sighed and looked at Adam once Meghan left the room.

"Lovely to meet you Adam. We are all not like Meghan over there. She just was Dad's favourite and Dad was her favourite. Mom good job I am going to check on Meghan." She walked down the hallways to the door way. She saw the door closed but opened it without knocking anyway.

She looked at Meghan and went on her knees beside her. "You're really shaken up about this. Things will be okay she isn't replacing dad she just wants someone to be with. She's a people person Meghan. None of us are here only on holidays. Give her some slack." She said rubbing Meghan's back through the process. When mom was pregnant with the second oldest kid she told her that she was the big sister and she needed to help her younger sibling well now siblings.

Annie watched as the door opened again. She noticed who it was. Adam. Her current boyrfriend. She watched as he introduced himself to the girls. "Nice to see you again Adam. Yes you got the name correct and thats Meghan coming." She witnessed some terrible words being said.

She looked at point blank at her daughter. She knew they sweared but she didn't like it under her household. "I was nicer about your boyfriend! And no swearing!!!!" She yelled after her daughter she smiled at Beth when she spoke. Oh thank God she knew her mother well.

She looked at Adam. "Don't worry about her. She still pretty upset about her dad. Come here." She planted a kiss on his lips and looked towards Allina. "So what do you...." She cut off running to the door hearing Matthew come.

She opened the door and smiled at him. "Baby, Matthew." She said giving him a hug and opening the door wider. Almost all of her kids were there she was just missing one person and that was it.

Matty smiled at the warm hug hi mom gave him. He’d missed her a lot and the hug was a welcome change to the cold. He closed the door behind him, smiling as he looked around the house. Everything was just the same, even the smells reminded him of long ago. Matty turned to his mom, smiling.

”Ah it feels nice in here. So, where’s everyone else? I’m sure Lil’s here at least.”

Matty walked further in the house and noticed someone he hadn’t seen before, along with his sister, Allina. The other person was an older gentleman. Surely Allie hadn’t decided to go with an older guy…right?

”Hey Allie...how ya been? I hope everything’s been as good as you look!”

Matty flashed her a smile and hugged her. He turned, looking at the other man. There’s no way Allie brought him, but if she hadn’t…then who was he? Matty extended a hand to the man, making sure he was polite.

”Hey I’m Matthew. It’s nice to meet you Mr.…?”

Matthew trailed off hoping someone would fill in the rest.

He wasn't sure what he expected but not an outburst. Already he was failing the first impression. With a bracing sigh, he watched her storm off. He'd have to try again later but he didn't know how. Adam didn't want to replace their father but he wasn't going anywhere if he could help it.

He turned to the other two, trying to salvage the moment. To Beth, he said, "Uh... no, I understand," Then, she too, left. When Matthew arrived, the picture became a little clearer. He was a surprise. No one was prepared for his presence and here he was, reminding them that they had lost someone they loved. Shit... There was no easy way out of this.

He took Matthew's hand and shook it firmly, "Hi, I'm Adam Calhoun. Call me Adam. I'm your mother's... friend," He looked to Annie. He couldn't believe he had said that out loud... Friend? He wasn't a friend. He needed a drink after this.

The bus squealed to a stop, rousing Ian from his sleep. The bus driver turned his head and called out, "This is your stop, kid!" Ian groaned, grabbing his backpack from the seat. "Thanks, man, I owe you," He hopped off the bus and found himself on the side of the road. With his backpack slung over his shoulder, he took a deep breath. Just act normal. Don't let them know anything's wrong, he said. Not that it would matter. He wasn't the first born and he wasn't the baby so he was usually passed over. Most likely, they'd be worried about their own problems. His mom though... She was like a dog with a bone if she suspected something.

Ian walked down the road to his family's house. It looked the same but somehow different. His dad wouldn't be there. His presence, his smell... No, he wasn't the oldest, or even the best of his siblings, but he felt his father's absence the same. He could see cars parked by the house. His family were already descending on the house. He walked in to find his sister, Allina, and his brother, Matthew in the living room with their mom. And a stranger. Not just a stranger but an older stranger. Could it be? Was his mother actually dating? He always assumed she'd just live in the house, existing, until one day she was too old and one of them would take her. He tried to smile but it became a grimace. "Uh... hey,"

OUTFIT

Mom’s new friend huh? The statement made Matty laugh out loud. It sounded like he’d been afraid to call himself what he really was. So his mom had gotten a new boyfriend. This was hardly news to him, he knew she would get someone else sooner or later. After the death of their loved ones, people did tend to get pretty lonely. Besides, his mom had been used to someone always around. The sudden independence probably didn’t sit well. Though this was a bit earlier than he’d expected, Matt accepted it, though he’d have to have a word with his mom later. Chuckling slightly, Matt shook his head.

”You Didn’t have to water it down for me, Adam. I know full well what friend means.”

Whit the way Adam presented himself Matty guessed this wasn’t his first time having to say that. Now it made total sense that his sister wasn’t anywhere to be seen. It was likely she didn’t take this too well. He completely understood why. Matty looked at the doorway and he saw his brother step in.

”Hey bro! How ya been?”

Matty walked over to his brother and brought him in for a hug. Suddenly feeling the weight of his bag, Matty decided to excuse himself to put up his thing and go find his sister.

”Well, these bags are kinda heavy, so I’ll be heading up to my room now.”

As he walked out he kissed his sister and mom on the cheek and ran upstairs, dropping his things in his room. Without thinking, he knew where Lil had gone, his father’s old room. He walked until he got to the room door, knocked gently, and went in. Upon seeing his sisters he smiled widely, then he noticed Lil was crying. He sighed walking over. He placed his hand on her head and rubbed her hair gently.

”Aw come on Lil. I just got here and you’re already upset.”

Matthew hated seeing Meghan cry. It wrung his heart every time. He smiled gently and hugged her balled up body. He’d do anything to make her stop her tears.

"Crying? No... Of course not. I'm just... tired." She sounded on the spot, but she smiled to cover it up. Just then, her mother opened the door, and upon seeing the two, practically screamed. "Gosh Mom, you see me every day at work. No need to be so excited." She laughed, before automatically correcting her with, "Allie, Mom, not Allina."

Then someone she didn't recognize appeared. A look of confusion washed over her face as he greeted them both; calling her Allina, of course. So that meant he had been told who she was from her mother. She cringed a little, before brushing hair out of her face. "It's just Allie." She smiled again, ducking her head a little. She hurried inside, out of the cold, and took her time taking off her coat and boots, before turning back to the new - old, guy - just as Beth greeted him. Allie hadn't heard him say his name. Too much was on her mind to pay too much attention. She saw Meghan off in the corridor, sort of hiding behind their dear mother. She sighed, grinning, before the realization of who this new man was sunk in.

Uh oh. Meghan was not happy. Allie sucked in a breath, before hurrying into the living room and placing the carefully packaged items onto the sofa for now. She would move them later. She heard the door open again, and the voice of Matty carried through the house, just as Meghan's harsh words echoed, and she could hear the heavy footsteps of her sister as she headed up to her - their - most closed off room. Their father's study. Allie missed her father just as much as the next person, but she thought that it would be what their father would have wanted. After all, if she died, she would have wanted Nate to have moved on -

But he had. He'd left her, and now she was in an utter mess. There was nothing she could do.

These new thoughts brought Allie to the brink of tears, but she could hear her siblings heading up to comfort Meghan. She would head up too, she supposed, but she had more words to offer her sister than physical comfort. In her experience, that helped a lot more sometimes. She popped her head around the door to see Matty, whose comment made her roll her eyes. "Oh shut up, you flirt." She said, grinning, to show she was joking.

The door opened once more, and it was the final of her siblings - Ian. She smiled and waved a little at him, sighing as she skipped the first two stairs, swinging off the banister to give her the momentum to leap up that far. "Hey, kid." She winked at him before heading upstairs after her siblings. She had completely ignored Mr Calhoun's introduction, so she paused halfway up the stairs and turned back a little. "Don't... Don't worry too much about Meghan, Mr Calhoun. I believe that it's what Dad would have wanted for us all. To have someone else to love isn't replacing anyone, rather sharing our pain and emotions with another member of the family." She explained, thinking to herself that her views were rather contradicting, since she wasn't planning to tell anyone about Nate. She forced herself to smile again, before heading upstairs again. "I'm going to go and explain that to Meg." She announced.

She had missed Matty and Beth's words of comfort, but she was sure what they had said would help. She edged towards the door, and knocked gently. "Meg, sweetie? It's Allie. Can we come in to talk to you?"

To say she was upset.. that was much of an understatement.

"You're really shaken up about this. Things will be okay she isn't replacing dad she just wants someone to be with. She's a people person Meghan. None of us are here only on holidays. Give her some slack."

First, it was Beth. Geez, so annoyingly a Momma's girl, Meghan had to fight the urge to just punch her right there. Then, Matthew. Oh, sweet, charming big brother rubbing her arm.

”Aw come on Lil. I just got here and you’re already upset.”

Lastly, Allina. Big sister having to see what was going on too.

"Meg, sweetie? It's Allie. Can we come in to talk to you?"

" Guys, I love you all, but we seriously do not know the term 'personal space' at all. Maybe I'm the only one here sane. We'll never freaking know, because you know, I'll be the next one to be freaking replaced." She snapped, and stood up, after hugging Matthew for a minute. "She acts like the man that made all of us possible has never existed in her life! I'm sorry if I'm blowing this up, not really, but at least I know my hospitality. Maybe it's just me.. Mom never seemed to.. take to me like she did you guys, yet I'm the only one with a normal boyfriend, and thinking about a family, and marriage, and have a job, and... " She started harshly rambling to herself, and was regretting every second.

Where was Brian? She needed him.

"I'm so sorry.." She finally broke again, and just sat back on her father's chair, looking at the fabric, becoming tear-stained. "I miss Daddy so much." She whimpered.

Beth looked at Meg. She seemed a bit ticked off but everything was quite hard on the family right now. Since they just lost their father they were in some quite pronlems. She wasn't close with any of her family. Mom nor Dad. She wanted her own but her husband was no where close ready and she was losing her chance every day.

She had an eating feeling that he was cheating on her with his sexy secratary. I looked at Meg as she spoke to the others and me all around the room. "Come on Meg, we all miss dad. Okay. And normal I wouldn't know about." She muttered under her breath the last part.

Annie watched as everyone was busy with their own thing. She felt an aching pain. Her kids hated her and she needed comfering but she couldn't until she spoke with the kids she looked up at Adam. "We will go get a tree i guess soon so thanks for being here Adam I am going to speak to the kids."

She gave Adam a kiss and walked to where most of the kids were. As she listened to the last part of her speech she walked into the room crossing her arms across her chest. Looking at her kids she smiled then looked at Meg.

"I love you all a lot. And I am not replacing your father Meghan. I loved that man so very much but he's gone. I miss him but Adam has been there for me. We grew more then friends. I just want you to know that this kind of needs to stop. You may like Adam if you give him a chance. Please try for me. It is Christmas afterall."

She didn't appricaite this all drama. She walked to the doorway and sticked her head out. "I found her Brian, come on in comfort your girl." She said smiling at her family. "Ian you might as well get in here with your other siblings as well come on."

Yelling in the hallway now it sure was the family back together.
