The Doctor was frowning through his entire explanation of why the Daleks were colored, and different. He rubbed his rough chin, trying to think of what to do. "When I last saw the entire Dalek race, they were asking me for my help... They needed me to go onto their planet for insane or damaged Daleks. I met a woman there, and she managed to erase all history of me... Why do they remember me now?..." He looked to Abby for answers. She seemed the most knowledgeable person here, plus she was actually focused on the task at hand. "Did someone do something that made them remember?..."
Myra gently placed her hand over the Doctors sensing that he was angry, she didn't want him to be angry but understood why he was, it turned out he had come across the Daleks before. She smiled reassuringly at him. "We will figure it out." Tara rolled her eyes at the exchange between the two, Abby turned off the hologram. "I hope you do, before they figure out how to use that connection." Myra let out a small sigh, she listened to Abby and the Doctor coming up with plans, Tara sitting beside her.
"So, if you two are together, why haven't I seen you kiss yet?" Tara questioned, Myra simply took in a breath it was taking all of her self restraint not to strangle the TARDIS sitting beside her. "Because he is working on saving your world." Tara giggled. "Okay, well how are you not all over him all of the time?" Myra rolled her eyes. "Because unlike you, I have self control." Tara giggled again looking towards the Doctor. "Have you slept with him?" Myra shifted slightly refusing to answer the question. "So no...but you've thought about it! I can tell, he has to. You two look at each other like the universe will end if you aren't together!" Tara looked at Myra. "So, since you will have him the rest of your life, can I have him right now? I want to be with him at least once. I don't have a Time lord of my own."
"If you try it, I swear to what ever god you believe in I will kill you. I told you he's my Doctor." Myra replied. "And I told you, you can't keep him all to yourself." Myra smiled standing up. "Watch me." She walked over to the Doctor and Abby, it was hard for her being around her sister, but who wasn't actually her sister. She gently placed her hand on the Doctors shoulder. "So, whats the plan?"
He looked to Abby, starting to prance like an exited puppy. "Torchwood!". He clapped his hands together, rubbing them. "My friend, who doesn't die, works for Torchwood! Captain Jack Harkness! He can help us, he has the technology and the man power to help us! he snapped his fingers in the air, as if shooting finger guns. Spinning around he slammed his hands down on the hologram table. "Please tell me you still have Torchwood!" The Doctor didn't give Abby time to answer his question. He was too exited, too full of ideas to wait for an answer. By the time he was already finished saying 'Torchwood' he was already out the door, sprinting to his TARDIS. He was almost there when he slid to a stop, and turned around to look at the 3 ladies in back of him.
He pointed to Tara with a slightly annoyed look. He let out a puffed up growl as he shook his finger at Tara. "Tardis!" He hissed. Now they had to take the long way there. He pointed to Abby. "Do you have a car? You know, some sort of transport?... Do they have those here? Or is this just a dimension of exercise?... Ugh!" The Doctor continued to prance around, unable to hold still. He started to jump up and down.
"Welcome to Torchwood, Captain Harkness will see you right away Doctor." A women answered, Myra stepped out of the car following after the Doctor into the large building, if Torchwood was the answer why hadn't Abby gone to them in the first place? As if reading her mind Abby spoke. "We tried this already, Torchwood refused to help us." Myra looked over at her sister. "You didn't have the Doctor then Abby." Abby smiled nodding slightly at her sister. "My Myra has kids. Two of them, Kyla and Hannah. Do you want kids?" Myra smiled slightly at the thought of a family. "At some point I want to have a family." Myra replied.
They moved into an Elevator where again Tara had managed to get between the Doctor and Myra. Myra watched the tardis closely which caused Tara to giggle looking over at the Doctor. "Your girlfriend doesn't like to share." Tara pouted making Myra laugh a little bit sharing a look with the Doctor. When the elevator stopped they were at the top of the building and entered a large office where a man turned around greeting the Doctor with a hug, Myra assumed that was his friend.
The plan they were creating seemed insane, blow up the Dalek ship with the Daleks on board and end it all in one go. Myra shook her head slightly. "Without the TARDIS it isn't guaranteed we will all get out of there alive." She looked between the two men. "I don't think the Daleks will just let the prisoners go, that could end with the two innocent people on that ship dying." Myra looked to the Doctor there had to be another way of doing it, a way everyone would get out unharmed.
Instantly the Doctor and Jack started to talk about the Daleks, and how to stop them. They had a plan of blowing up all the ships, but when Myra brought up the fact that the Daleks had two hostages both Jack and The Doctor frowned. "She's right... About the hostages, that is... There's no way we'll be able to get to them without alerting someone.... I'm sure the Daleks know you're here already," Jack frowned, sitting on the edge of his desk. The Doctor paced, an annoyed look on his face once again. "Well I have no other idea on how we can safely get up there!... I can't have both Tara and the TARDIS together, and I can't bring Myra up because it's too dangerous and her alternate self is up there... I don't know!" He smashed his hands against a wall before turning and continuing to pace.
Jack gave Myra a weird look before looking at the Doctor. "And sense when did that stop you?..." Jack stood up, grabbing the Doctors shoulders, giving him a shake. "The Doctor I know... The Doctor I saw fight hundreds of Daleks.. The Doctor I saw create a bomb to destroy himself and all the other Daleks, but didn't because he's too merciful, but he STILL managed to defeat them... Where is that Doctor?... You've been in hiding too long, my friend... Don't give up just because there's an obstacle... It's never stopped you before..." The Doctor looked to Jack, both of them holding the others gaze. The Doctor was frowning while Jack had a hopeful look on his face. "What do you expect me to do?...". "I expect you to not give up."
He pushed away from Jack, and looked from Abby, to Tara, and then to Myra, a blank look on his face. ".... A time vortex..." He looked to Jack, his eyes slowly lighting up. "We trap them in another time vortex... I've done it before, I can do it again!" Jack smiled, and clapped his hands. "There's my Doctor! The on coming storm!" The Doctor ran up to Myra, grabbing her hands. "How would you like to meet your alternate self?" He had a playful, mischievous gleam in his eye.
Like she said Tara had managed to get them all onto the ship with out alerting any of the Dalek's that they were there. Myra stayed close to the Doctor as they moved through the ship looking for the prisoners, of course they were in the main control room, but that also made the task a little bit easier. When they entered the room the Dalek's immediately turned around. "Doctor, It's the Doctor." One started. "Exterminate, exterminate." Myra looked at the machines before them taking in a shallow breath she could see her alternate self, they looked exactly the same. Myra made a run for her alternate self while the Daleks were distracted by the Doctor. She looked over her shoulder to make sure everyone grabbed a hold of something so they wouldn't be sucked in. "Stop the girl! Stop the girl!" Myra avoided the lasers just and no more grabbing onto her alternate self's hand.
Sure enough just as the Doctor said a bright light appeared a rip in time, Myra held onto the chair as all of the Daleks were being sucked into the time vortex, just as they had thought more of them came into the room at the sound of the alarm and all of them were getting sucked in as they entered. Myra kept a firm hold on the chair watching as Dalek after Dalek got sucked into the time vortex, just as it started to fluctuate the last Dalek was sucked in and the vortex closed making a sound that reminded Myra of cracking bones.
Myra immediately let go of the other Myra stepping away from her. Abby soon after ran to her sister getting her out of the restraints and pulling her into a hug, Myra smiled sadly at the sight a pain going through her heart, she returned to the Doctor's side with the same sad smile. Tara pulled the Doctor away from Myra pressing a kiss to his lips with a giggle. Myra let out an annoyed groan. "Can I please kill her now?" Myra took the screwdriver from the Doctors pocket smiling innocently at Tara, the girl squeaked moving over to where Abby was. "I don't like you alternate sister." Tara said loud enough for Myra to hear, Myra looked at the Doctor. "I don't like your alternate TARDIS." Myra stated just as loudly, she let out a tired sigh leaning against the Doctor. "Can we go back to the actual TARDIS now?" She asked looking up at the Doctor with a small smile. Happy it was over, hoping it was over for good, she didn't want to have to create a time vortex to get rid of the Daleks again.
When Tara kissed him, his eyes went wide, and he quickly broke the kiss, his hair messed up and his face red with embarrassment. He looked to Myra, surprised she didn't lunge out at Tara. He flinched when Myra reached into his jacket and pulled out his screwdriver. He quickly plucked it from Myra's hands and put the screwdriver back into his pocket, eyebrow raised at his lover. "Yes, we can go back, and no you can't kill Tara..." He couldn't help but grin, kissing Myra's cheek before going over to Jack. Tara was teleporting them by the time The Doctor started talking. They were outside the real TARDIS. "So...." The Doctor started, glancing back at his time machine. Jack chuckled, and clapped The Doctor on the shoulder. "I missed you... But my place is here... You and your new... Companion, should have some alone time." The Doctor smiled and nodded in understanding. He knew Jack would never accept the invitation back into his old life.
The Doctor and Myra started to walk back to the TARDIS, but The Doctor stopped when Jack called out his name. The Doctor turned around, looking at Jack, who had a slightly reluctant look on his face. "You called me old friend, as if you haven't seen me in a long time... What happens to me?..." Jack shifted uncomfortably, not sure he'd like the answer to the question. The Doctor frowned. "... You live a long life, but... You sacrifice yourself... For a younger version of me..." Jack frowns as well, but nods. The Doctor nods back before looking to Myra. He smiles to her, a deep look in his eyes. "Want to say good bye to your sister?..."
The Doctor pressed a few buttons. After they left the parallel world he took Abby's letter, ripped it up, and threw it into a black hole. He had to destroy all connections with the alternate world. If he didn't the fact that they made a rip in the reality of space and time would catch up with not only their world, but Abby's world as well. He didn't land them back to Myra's house right away. He let them float in space for a bit, once again over the Earth. "So...." He looked over to Myra. "What do you want to do now?... Go home, or continue on... Seeing the universe, meeting people in space as well as time..." He gave her an innocent smile.
Myra looked over her shoulder at the Doctor opening the TARDIS doors to look at the stars, she leaned back against the door frame admiring the tiny balls of light that still looked so far away even if she was in space. Myra closed the doors again after a few moments going back over to the Doctor wrapping her arms loosely around his neck she brought their lips together, Myra gently pressed her body to his before breaking the kiss planting a gentle kiss on his cheek. "Tara was the last person to kiss you, I thought I would rectify that situation." Myra gave him a childish smile that feud between her and the other TARDIS still going on, Myra thought it would make him laugh though.
She pondered the Doctors question again before answering. "I want to go see Abby. My Abby. I never got to say goodbye to her."
Myra stood outside the hospital doors for a long time, watching her family leave for the night as they had been told Abby was stable and would be fine. She took the Doctors hand before walking into the hospital she remembered every inch of the place and it didn't take her long to locate her sisters room. She peered through the window at Abby watching tv and smiled to herself as Abby wasn't watching children cartoons but a documentary. "Abby was always so mature, she hated childish things."
Myra gently opened the door walking into the room, Abby turned her head her green eyes glinting. "Hi Abby." Myra smiled sitting on the edge of the bed. "Who are you?" Abby looked up into Myra's eyes. "I'm Myra, your sister. I'm a lot older though, and from a different time, its kinda confusing." Myra laughed and Abby smiled brightly. "What am I when I grow up?" Abby asked with a child like curiosity. Myra smiled sadly at her sister brushing her red hair from her face. "Abby...You don't grow up. That's why I'm here, I never got to say goodbye to you."
Abby started to cry, Myra instantly scooped up her sister with a motherly precision gently rocking her back and forth. "I don't want you to be scared though. I will be here the entire time. You aren't alone Abby." Myra sat with Abby like that for a while gently running her fingers through Abby's hair as if her sister were her own child. Myra look to the clock as it struck 1am, just like the Doctors had reported Abby stopped breathing. Myra let a few tears roll down her cheeks before gently laying Abby in her bed pulling the covers up over her kissing her forehead and whispering goodbye. "We better go. Before the Doctors come in."
"Your sister, your real sister, is very lovely... I'm sorry I couldn't do anything," He held Myra close, it was cold tonight, and it was starting to snow. He looked up at the dark sky, his breath rolling out visibly from his slightly parted lips. When he looked back down he gave Myra a sad smile. "I know what it feels like to lose someone..." He bent down and sweetly kissed her before taking her back into the TARDIS. Closing the doors he rubbed his cold hands together with a playful smile. "So now.. We've been in the past, we've been in the present... We've technically been in the future... How about we go to another alien planet?" There was a playful look in his eye once again as he walked around the control center, flipping a few switches and pressing a few buttons. The TARDIS started to wheeze and groan as they deteriorated from Earth.
When the TARDIS landed Myra headed to the door excited to see where they were. It looked like they had landed in the middle of the market place, a lot of strange creatures were wandering around from stall to stall. Myra smiled when she felt the Doctors hand link with hers. "So, where are we?" Myra moved into the market place her heart still ached from the visit with her sister but she was happier now, moving on seemed to be the only thing left to do, she looked over at the Doctor with a bright smile.
Nobody seemed to recognize the Doctor in this market place she looked at him a curious twinkle in her eye. "I thought the whole universe knew who you were raggedy man?" She reached into her pocket with a mischievous smile. "By the way..." Myra started pulling the sonic screwdriver from her pocket she stopped resting her hands on the Doctors chest, she placed his screwdriver back in the pocket she knew he usually put it. "I'm surprised you didn't notice." Myra gave him an innocent smile gently pecking him on the lips before starting to walk through the market place again. "I hope no giant crisis happens when we are here...Where ever we are. I want you to myself for a while since I spent a day watching Tara being all over you." Myra looked over her shoulder at him again. "If your TARDIS was a real person, would she be like that with you?" She asked curiously.
When Myra put the screwdriver back into his pocket he scoffed and rolled his eyes. He then frowned at the mention of Tara. He didn't like her, almost as much as Myra. She was too all over him. Normally he would love that kind of thing, but then again normally none of his companions were in a romantic relationship with him. Save for River. And River was.... Gone. Plus she wasn't the jealous type. When Myra asked if the actual TARDIS was at all like Tara he shrugged a bit. "Yes and no," The Doctor replied. "When she first saw me she ran up to me and kissed me full on the lips... But then again she was very confused. She knew how to talk, but mixed up words. She said, 'good-bye!-No. Not good-bye. What's the opposite of good-bye? Ah, yes! Hello!'" The Doctor smiled, looking down to Myra.
They had spent the last few hours looking at all the cool trinkets. Myra asked questions and The Doctor answered. After a while both of them got tired, and slightly lost, so they just sat down on a bench and relaxed. The Doctor tossed his head back and looked up at the sky. Most of it was covered by drapes of cloth that was over the market place so when it was day there was shade. Past the curtains was the black night sky, twinkling and shining down on them. "Your world is 4.5 billion light years that way," The Doctor pointed off to the side. "The light from your world hasn't even seen this part of the universe yet." He smiled a bit.
Myra yawned slightly closing her eyes. She was getting used to everything about the Doctor from all of his quirks to what made him cold, what made him angry, or sad, or happy. Myra looked up at him with fond eyes, she was falling more and more for the Time lord and part of it scared her, she had never trusted anyone as much as she trusted him, never as comfortable with someone, and it scared her. She gently put her hand on his cheek smiling gently at him when he looked at her, she kissed him gently before resting her head back on his shoulder. “It’s nice, being so far from everything.”
When they got back to the TARDIS Myra let the Doctor unlock the blue box before moving into it. “We should stay here for a bit, I want to explore more tomorrow.” She spoke softly her body finally giving in to the exhaustion. “So I’m going to wander around until I find your bedroom, or a bedroom.” Myra gently kissed him before heading into one of the hallways she eventually found a bedroom rolling her eyes when she saw the Doctor standing by the bed. “I hate you sometimes” She teased going over to the bed sitting down. “So is this your bedroom or a bedroom?”
After a few hours of thinking with his eyes closed he figured Myra was asleep, seeing as she was breathing softly, and would mumble inaudibly in her sleep. Slowly sliding her off of his chest, The Doctor got up, grabbing his shoes and jacket and tip toeing out of the room. He easily made his way back to the main room of the TARDIS. It moaned and warped in a greeting. The Doctor smiled, walking around the circular controls, his fingertips dragging on the edge of the console. It had been only a few hours of exiting confrontation with adventure, and he already craved more. He was fighting the urge to let Myra sleep while he explored more. Something about this planet gave him the aura of something wrong. Sighing he sat down, pulled a book out of his jacket pocket, and hunkered down for the long night.
"And then me and Donna ran! Oh did we run! The shadows weren't really shadows, you see, they were actually flesh eating invisible animals. The piranhas of the air. That's when I first met River Song... I was so young back then..." He told his story about the Silence in the Library, and how he ran into the Vashta Nerada with Donna. When he finished he smiled to Myra. He knew he lost a lot of people, and that was the day his ex wife died, but it was still a fun and heart pumping experience. Another thing he acknowledged while talking, is that they were being followed. Their pursuer, however, stopped every time they were looked at.
There was an angel statue standing in one of the corners of what look liked a park that the children were playing on, Myra frowned in confusion she thought that humans were the only ones who believed in angels. Myra turned to ask the Doctor when one of the children screamed, she turned back to see the Angel had moved. All of the other children fled from the park while the one girl was stuck staring at the statue, clearly she knew what it was, and clearly she knew not to look away from in.
When the girl started crying Myra moved to her, it was her motherly instinct to protect the crying child, it was literally built into her though her mother always said that Myra's was stronger and would one day get her into trouble, Myra supposed today was that day. Myra moved up to the girl. "Sweet heart, come to me." Myra looked at the statue who's face went from gentle to terrifying in those few seconds, the young girl shook her head, she looked like she was six maybe seven. "I can't, you have to keep staring at them or they will move and kill you."
"I will keep staring at it I promise, just come behind me." The girl took in a frightened breath running behind the cover of Myra. She kept her promise staring at the statue not even looking at the Doctor when he came up beside her. "What is it?" was all she said.
When Myra hesitated his voice grew firm. "Myra just go!" Anger boiled in his chest as he put his arm out, pushing Myra as he backed up. When Myra finally moved away to her own accord he waited for a few minutes before turning and sprinting after Myra. He only glanced back a few times. The angel never moved forward, but it looked angrier and angrier with each glance.
"We need to stop whatever that is." Myra said placing a hand in the center of the Doctor's chest looking him into the eyes showing she was dead serious about what she said. She put a hand on his cheek. "And you aren't doing it alone, I can tell your thinking about it just by the way your looking at me."
The Doctor looked to Myra, his breath slowly coming back to him. "We first need to figure out why they're here, why they're tormenting these people... That little girl knew what to do, meaning this wasn't her first time encountering an angel. Either that or it was drilled in her mind what to do... Either way, people know about these things and are afraid... They should be.." The Doctor ran around a bit, still not sure where to start or what to do. "That angel didn't chase us... It must of been called off... It looked really frustrated, though..."
Myra moved her hand gently over the console smiling at the noise the TARDIS made. She was glad that the blue box for now was keeping them as safe as they could be but she knew that at some point they would have to step out of its protection. "All we need to do, is find out who's controlling the angels and why." Myra moved over to the Doctor slipping under his arm coming between him and the TARDIS console. "And you and I raggedy man, will do it together." Myra knew from how he told her to run before that he didn't want her involved with these things, part of her wanted to know why while the other part of her wanted to make him know that he wasn't getting away with doing it alone. She was stubborn, and there was no way she was going to let him win that argument.
"I think we should start by talking to the children or anyone really. If the children knew what to do the parents taught them, which means everyone knows. If the person controlling the angels is a real threat no one will want to talk about in fear of getting into trouble with whom ever is in charge. Someone will eventually give in though, someone always does. Besides your you, you can convince people to do the craziest things." Myra gave him a teasing smile slipping under his arm standing beside him again. The terror on the planet was going to end, she would make sure of it.
When Myra started to hug him he turned and hugged her back tightly, burying his face in her neck as he pulled her close, swaying a little bit. He liked her hugs, they were nice and reminded him that he was with someone he very much loves. "These creatures," he mumbled into Myra's neck, "Are worse then what you've ever seen... If they touch you they send you back in time, and you're stuck there forever... I can't get you out, because I don't know what time you've been sent to... So please Please when I say run, do it... The last person that I told to run from them didn't and now..." He stopped, his throat tightening up. He unburied his face from her neck to look her in the face. "Now they're gone... Forever... And I love you too much to lose you," The Doctor softly grabbed Myra's face and kissed her. He didn't break the kiss for a while, but finally pulling away.
He moved, sniffling and rubbing his puffy eyes. When he was telling mumbling in her neck he has started to cry. Now that the tears had stopped he was functional again. "Right, so we need to figure out who's the head honcho here," He looked to Myra, a playful glint to his eye once again. "I'll be back, I'm going to get a different jacket on," And with that he ran off. Within a few minutes he was back, wearing a black tweed jacket, elbow patches and all. He smiled to Myra, grabbing her hand tightly and hurrying out of the TARDIS.
When they got back into the market place everything had changed, people seemed to be more on edge then they had been before which in turn made Myra feel more on edge. There was a group of people standing around in a circle around a pile of dust one man shook his head. “The angels must have gotten to him.”
“Their actually attacking people now...” Myra whispered to the Doctor. “They must have recognized you.” Myra walked away from the crowd looking at him as they moved away. “Which means we are going to have to figure this out quickly.”
He showed her the blank piece of paper, whispering, "Psychic paper... It shows people whatever they want to see." The man lead them through the tense crowd, weaving in and out of peoples way. The Doctor had a slightly hard time following the very flustered man, but within 10 minutes they were in a office building. After waiting a few more minutes at the reception desk they were ushered into a office.
When the door opened Myra stood up returning to the Doctors side, a man walked in, he looked like someone you would not want to get into any sort of argument or fight with. She gently slipped her hand into the Doctors giving it a gently squeeze, she gave him a look that said ‘this isn’t a good idea’ as the two of them had gotten fairly good at reading the others body cues.
“So, I here you want to see me. Make it quick, I have a lot to do and not a lot of time to do it in.” Myra shifted her weight slightly. “We just wanted to talk to you about the people here, they seem very frightened of something.” Myra said not wanting to directly ask about the angels worried it would scare the man off or make him defensive, and she didn’t want that.
The man thought for a second before answering. "It happened about two weeks ago and..... No, I don't think anything we- Oh..." The man trailed off, getting lost in thought. The Doctor exchanged weird looks with Myra before looking back at the man. "Oh?..." He asked. "There was an Earth quake that day... As if something was coming from the ground... But no one thought anything of it, they all just thought it was a normal Earth quake." The Doctor frowned, shifting his weight. The Angels don't come from the ground, that's not where they live. Unless they had managed to get a ship, crashed it on a unoccupied planet thinking it was occupied, and so they decided to wait for people to start coming. Maybe they went into hibernation?.. The Doctor made a 'hmm' noise every so often as he was thinking. He would shake his head as if he was talking to another person.
“Your the Doctor?” The man asked with wide eyes, Myra chuckled slightly amused by the mans reaction. “Your only a legend, a myth.” Myra laughed again. “Trust me, he is quite real.” Myra turned from the Doctor to face the man. “What do you know about the angels?” she glanced over at the doctor letting him know not to answer the question because she knew given the chance he would.
“Not a lot. Statues started appearing everywhere, recently they started moving, we discovered if you look at them they stop. Now they are attacking people.” Myra frowned slightly at the answer turning back to the Doctor. “We need some sort of plan, there has to be someway to destroy them or get rid of them.”[color]
“I wouldn’t get into it with them ma’am.” Myra rolled her eyes drawing in a breath. [color=#25A2D2]“My name is Myra, and one thing I have learned is if you let something know you are afraid of it, it gives it power over you. Everything has a weakness, everything can be destroyed you just have to find what it is. So, lets find it.”
The Doctor was nodding, but at the same time he was frowning. He stopped, and looked to Myra who was giving him a 'what the hell are you thinking?' look. He frowned more, understanding why she was giving him the weird look. This fighting tactic wasn't his way. He use to be peaceful, and didn't kill unless he had to. "Never mind, bad idea... They might get even angrier and fight back... So, we figure out who's in charge of the angels, then!.... Oh, by the way, what's your name?" He was all smiles again, looking to the man. "I'm Johnathan... I'm Mayor of this town." He gave The Doctor a polite smile back. "But how are we going to figure out who's in charge?...." The Doctor turned to Johnathan. "We'll get capture, of course!" He was already walking out of the room.
"Captured? Doctor, this is the Angels we're talking about, they kill they don't capture," The Mayor said, hurrying after him. "Correction, they don't kill, they send you back in time and feed on your potential energy. The younger are the more years you have ahead of you. The more years you have ahead of you the more potential energy you have. As for them killing me," He stopped and suddenly spun around. "They won't. You know why?" He had a playful mystical grin on his face. "Because I'm the Doctor.... And they'll want me as a weapon, not to kill me."
