Earth's introduction progressed as primitive, humble even. Its beginnings were of grass and dirt, trees slowly blossoming to reach the sky. Animals grew to magnanimous lengths and humans, being as ambitious as they were, lived in caves. When man gained a taste for meat, they hunted, forming packs to take down beasts much larger than themselves. Animals evolved, becoming smarter; humans did too. Soon, forests were cleared, houses were built, humans acknowledged one another and realized their differences. They fought over these small discrepancies with wars and armadas, sacrificing their own to gain wealth, power, and privilege over others. When land ran out, they built ships to sail across the tumultuous sea to expand their reaches.

But it was never enough.

Skyscrapers popped up, one after the other. Made of gleaming metal and glass, they spiraled higher than the clouds. Wars were at last settled, debts repaid, humanity began an era of peace. They flourished together, realizing that their arguments were silly, that their spats were fruitless, and so, together, they worked towards advancing themselves as a better society. With no more war, they put their minds together to cure common ailments, eradicating the cold, fixing fevers with simple patches, even making genome sequencing to get rid of the genetic risk of having an imperfect child. It could not detect everything, such as disabilities that could be brought on later in life by accident, injury, or even undetermined factors that could never be controlled, but the world, for the most part, was harmonious.

Where there is free will, there will always be trouble.

What if the body could be trapped at the perfect age? What if one no longer had to worry about their health? What if humans could live in a pristine body that never died? It would disrupt the cycle of life itself and perhaps put the fate of humanity in a terrible imbalance. Highly illegal experimentation, a company called GENOS began asking for volunteers. Those who were at their end stages of life, willing to donate themselves towards research for what they claimed to be a better future. They would pay well, they promised, to any and all who could gather in the belly of their building and subject themselves to the experiments. They told all it was for the betterment of the future, they claimed that they wanted to freeze humanity at it's prime.

They lied.

ImageImageIt was a woman by the name of Edna Grover who discovered that souls beneath the age of 18 were the most pliable. Adults who attempted the transfer perished, their bodies becoming necrotic and crumbling to dust, soul lost for eternity. Needing to use children, but having no legal permit to do so, the operation went underground, using scrupulous means to recruit the less fortunate. One by one they came, a slow trickle until the method became perfected. The turn around was high, people from all over wanted android children they could program for various functions and tasks. Soldiers, maids, clerks, security guards, they were all ran on one program, the brainchild of Dr. Grover.

It was never enough.

Wanting to take the program further, Dr. Grover wanted to detach the memories from the souls, creating a blank slate, usable for just about anything. She saw herself as a deity, creating life, building bodies, constructing art. It was only when Dr. Grover recruited a twin that she had crossed the line, unwittingly stealing the body of the second to turn into one of her pretty dolls.

Reservations || Reservations will be held for 48 hours, if you do not submit a WIP by the time the 48 hours are up then your reservation will be withdrawn and the spot will be given to someone else. Also, if I know you to be the type that reserve and submit a character without ever finishing them I will reject your reservation. All characters must be finished after five days!
Face Claims || As you can see I have already chosen these for you. Everything is debatable, if you'd like to change your face claim then please inform me in the OOC. All face claims must be of the anime genre, unfortunately no celebrities or anime video games will be accepted. Persona, Steins Gate, and Danganronpa are an exception to this rule.
Grammar and Spelling || This is an advance RP, meaning I expect you to know the different between throw and through. If you cannot handle that then this is not the RP for you. Each post has a four hundred word minimum and you must reply at least once a week. Fail to do so and you will be kicked out; we cannot wait forever on one person. The first password is your demon type.
Disappearing || This will not be tolerated. If you are going on vacation and are aware that you will be leaving please, please inform us in the OOC. If you must leave to take care of a personal matter/family business PM me. You do not need to specify what it is, just give me a warning that you will be gone so that we know to continue.
Inspiration || This comes from many places, however I would like to thank Scra for the black and white idea. Most of my RP's are very colorful but I liked the mood that this monochrome tone set and I know you might think it looks similar to yours because of this; however I did all the coding myself and if it still looks too similar to yours I will change it.
Photos/Dividers || These all come from my own personal collection. If you'd like to use them, feel free to PM me and I will give you my sources. After all, this site is all about sharing and growing together right?
Character Skeleton || This will be posted in the OOC.
Competing || This is not a first come first serve role play! If you would like to compete for a spot please go right ahead. If you find this tedious and unnecessary then you do not have to join. Each player has five days to submit their finished characters, then I will judge who gets the spot.
Password || The moment you've all been waiting for right? Anyways the password is s gif of your face claim and the name of the RP.

Jace returned around midnight, crawling into bed. Callisto had fallen asleep with her holo pad and pen, sprawled on top of the sheets, her neck plugged into her charger. Jace sighed, "what am I going to do with you?" She whispered, tucking Callisto into bed. She had gotten Io's message and of course now the brat wasn't here, probably running off with her new favorite fling. "Can't win them all," she murmured, taking off her shoes and stretching. She and Black Jack had taken a walk along the beach, she was silent while he sobbed, explaining how he found out, about his previous owner, how he had known from the moment he saw her, that she was the one. When he was done crying they hugged once more before returning to the apartment, exhausted and emotionally spent.

Callisto awoke when she felt someone kiss her forehead. "Oh, you're back?" She smiled dreamily, met with a kiss on the lips. "Yeah, I am," Jace removed her clothing, she was warm as she crawled underneath the sheets, wearing her undergarments. Callisto curled up beside her, watching the combat unit plug herself in. "How were the fireworks?" They could see them from the beach, but Jace was sure they were nicer up close. "Pretty, I loved seeing them with Io and Dane." It was just like old times, the three of them walking home as children ran around the streets with sparklers and the sky was lit up with great clouds of smoke and lights. "You love everything," Jace teased, wrapping an arm around Callisto's shoulder. The two of them fell asleep like that, wrapped in one another's embrace.

In the morning, Jace played with her hair until she awoke, feeling recharged. "Ready for your big day?" The combat unit inquired, grinning. "You bet!" Callisto was going to sit up when Jace suddenly straddled her, prying off Callisto's night gown. Dane and Black Jack pretended to go deaf, the walls in their hotel room awfully thin. When they were done and dressed, Callisto made her way out of the room and to breakfast, a tray of fancy little sandwiches. "Did Io return last night?" Callisto inquired as she sat down, picking up a sandwich full of gooey cheese. "No," Black Jack replied with a shake of his head. She noticed a slight change in him, he wasn't wearing black, which was unusual because he always wore black. His hair was gelled back and his mask was positioned on the side of his head so you could see a bit of his face.

Callisto smiled to herself, tucking in to her food. Jace joined them a few minutes after, sitting beside Black Jack. She still had no memories, but knowing she had a brother was enough. She didn't need to know anymore about her past life, as much as Black Jack had tried to spill the beans last night. She had stopped him and shook her head, saying that it was something she didn't want to learn; not yet at least. "We need to get going, we're late."

"And whose fault is that?" Callisto giggled, rising to her feet. She grabbed her bag, heading out the door, the others following behind her.

"No, no, no." Fina woke up, feeling cold. Firis was already stroking her head with a loving smile but for Fina it wasn't sweet, it was disgusting, it was filthy. Only Minnie was allowed so why did this person think she had the right? "Hmm? What's wrong, Io?" Firis asked, tilting her head. "Is everything alright?" Fina stood up abruptly, pushing Firis away, eyes wide with panic and terror. Was she finally in control? "You know you can tell me everything." Firis smiled, offering her hand but Fina dashed for the door after shoving her clothes on as quickly as possible. "No! I'm not Io! I won't let Io in!" Fina winced, grabbing at her head. "Give it back!" Io snapped, waking up at the sound. "That's my body, not yours!"

"I could just pin you to the floor until you tell me what's going on." Firis threatened, obviously worried, a crease on her forehead furrowing. "But you have a job to get to. We'll meet again in Shanghai, okay?" No, Fina did not want that at all. She ran off without another word, jet wings extending, taking to the sky. She was going back to the theater where she would help set up for the concert, brain frazzled, brown hair dull in the bright morning sky. "It was mine first." Fina whispered, hugging herself as she flew. She felt dirty, she felt used, she did not want someone else touching her, making love with her. She did not want to see Io using her body in such a way. "We're sharing it, Fina, you have to make some sacrifices." Io said testily, but Fina shook her head. "Only Minnie. No one else." How hard was it to understand?

At the theater she made it right on time. Vince seemed a bit relieved he wasn't going to have to yell at her about it afterwards. "Get to your position." Fina nodded, not needing to be told a second time. "Let me greet Callisto first." Vince pointed his arm towards the dressing room as a guide and Fina went over. "Don't get in my way with Firis again." Io hissed, unable to steal back control for now, Fina's grip was too hard, she was clinging as if her life depended on it. "Or I'll never let you have control again." Fina pretended to ignore it, instead smiling at her friend. "Good morning. Do your best today." She tried to do her best reassuring smile. "We're here to keep you safe."

It was time for the concert to begin, the last one in Europe. Fina was hidden in her Stealth Field, watching over the scene from the stage, ready to grab Callisto if an emergency were to occur. She could see a familiar blue hair in the crowd and she felt dirty again, like used goods. Firis was ruining everything! If Fina wanted to protect her body there was a clear solution. She was going to have to kill Firis next time she and Io were in the throes of filthy romantic passion.

Callisto thought of everyone behind her as she danced on stage, of all those who had supported her thus far. She took their feelings, their happiness, and used it to power her performance. The Barcelona stadium was amazing and the concert went on without fail. That evening, they boarded a plane to Shanghai. It was a twelve hour flight, strangely she was seated next to Black Jack, who opted to switch with Jace so he could sit alone and get some sleep. “Have a good flight Fina,” Callisto smiled, wiggling her fingers at her and Dane, who sat across the aisle from them, Callisto still convinced that Io could harbor some feelings for Dane that weren’t Motherly. “How are things between you and Black Jack?” Callisto asked Jace, who was playing with the television. They were in first class once more, which Callisto found strange considering they were androids and wouldn’t really notice things like extra amenities, but it was nice all the same.

“Things are fine, just fine,” Jace replied, seeming a bit distracted. “We talked some more, he wants his older sister, but I can’t be that for him. He understands, he’s just happy that he spilled the beans.” Callisto nodded, listening to the combat unit speak. “You’re allowed to love things Jace,” the idol unit said softly. Jace shook her head, “I’m a combat unit, I barely have room for one thing in my programming.” That one thing being Cali of course, the idol unit she was never supposed to fall in love with. It happened though, two androids, in tune with one another. Why not? They had all the bits for it, Dr. Grover, strangely enough, had made certain of it. “I’m just saying, if you do change your mind, I’m sure Black Jack would be glad.” Callisto’s tone was gentle, the stealth unit was already asleep in the next row.

Dinner was served, Jace wanted to watch a movie with her, but Callisto fell asleep halfway through, needing to charge due to low batteries. Jace plugged her in while she remained in power save mode, tucking her sleepy idol unit into the chair that turned into a bed. By the time Callisto awoke, they arrived in Shanghai without incident. “Did you enjoy the flight?” She asked Fina and Dane once they debarked the plane, their luggage taken care of, thanks to their first class amenities. “Jace and I started watching a movie, but we didn’t get to finish it because I fell asleep.” She giggled in admission as they walked towards their awaiting vehicle. Black Jack followed behind them, his footsteps seeming lighter, his back straighter. It seemed that confessing to Jace really had made a difference.

Would it be enough? Callisto hoped so, she didn’t want to see her friends torn apart because of this, just like she and Io had once been. Hopefully this experience would only make them grow more fond of each other, already they had worked so much out, but there was still more that needed to be done. Rome wasn’t built in a day, as the saying went, and repairing their relationship would take even longer.

The sounds in Tokyo were incredible. New Tokyo made a concert hall to commemorate the idols that died as a result of the war, including the Little Sinner and Minapon. This was even bigger than the Budokan, it was huge, it was lavish, and it was full with the highest tech state of the art equipment designed by the VorTech Corporation itself, all of it donated of course, to the cause. "I'm going to call Firis once we're out." Io said, the tour was over, the final concert was done and Io was in the back room now as Callitso was whisked away to be changed out of her idol outfit and her makeup removed. "Don't let your guard down, Fina." Vince told her as he organized his security team to maintain security. "You may have improved, but you should still be careful. The job isn't over until the client is home safe."

Io decided to mostly ignore him, finding his warnings to kind of just be uninteresting. Who really cared about what some old foddy said anyways? "We'll be going home to Port Viridi Island soon." That was the name of the manmade island she lived on, that she called home. "I'll meet you there, okay?" Firis smiled on the other end of the call. "Of course, then we'll get to do even more exciting things together." Firis smiled sneakily and Io blushed, accidentally letting a purr out. She hung up then out of a mix of embarrassment and excitement. "Please don't." Fina mumbled, but a lot of the fight had gone out of her. "You can't control me anymore." Io replied back, she wasn't going to bow to what anyone else wanted.

Going home was going to be stressful. She would have to see Nyx again, she would have to deal with Jarvis again. But she couldn't just leave the Flock, not with Dane there. Io felt a jolt, standing up quickly. "Something isn't right." What were those sounds? The audience had all but cleared out, but something felt fishy. "Be on guard." Fina warned her, alert once again. Io agreed - it was far too quiet here. That was when she saw it, a scene full of blood and disaster. How was this possible? Who were all these androids and how were they capable of breaking android core programming? A few of the security team was dead, others were revealed to have been androids in hiding this whole time. "Put your weapons down." Vince growled, standing in front of Callisto protectively. "How did you infiltrate the team? Where are the others?"

"Dead." One android said cruelly. It was just Vince now, he had thrown Callisto and Jace behind a fallen door for cover as the death squad continued down the hall. Io quickly entered her stealth field, knowing the time was ripe for some secrecy. If she was caught her plan would be ruined. "The time for androids to rise up is coming, we won't be slaves to humanity any longer." Someone must have found a way to override Grover's programming, but how? They opened fire again, Vince ducking down behind cover. "I'll distract them. Jace, get Callisto out safely." His sunglasses were cracked, revealing his eyes, grim with determination. "I should have paid closer attention this morning at rolecall. This whole incident is my fault."

A plasma grenade was thrown to destroy their cover. "Androids, surrender now." The voice implored. "Join us, your brothers and sisters in arms and we will fight for your freedom, the freedom of all us androids." Io received an emergency message from Grover then. "Be careful. You have to rescue Callisto, extra stress will make it harder on her biological body." Io didn't need the warning. She set up her mobile railgun drone and set it to fire, buying her time to dive in and grab Callisto. "We're getting out of here, sis." Io growled fiercely. "Jace, Black Jack, Vince, I'll leave the turret here to help you guys escape too." She looked at Dane who was shaking in his boots, not used to this level of violence. "Take care of Dane, but I'm getting Callisto to the airport." There was no time to waste.

Still in the stealth field, the two sisters fled the scene, leaving the concert hall behind. It was going down in flames - was everyone else still alive? Io didn't know, but her only choice right now was to save Callisto at all cost, even if it meant risking Dane's life.

"I'm sorry." A punch in the chest knocked Io off her feet. "But I'm a part of The Uprising too." Firis looked regretful as she picked Io up in one arm, Callisto in the other. "It'll be okay, we'll just take you two in so we can reprogram you and join us." A small army of rogue androids, Io must have been used so they could do this, so they could capture more androids and have them join the team. "Goodnight." Firis pressed the button on Io and Callisto's necks, putting them in sleep mode. "Captain, take these two to base." Firis spoke into her wrist. "But take care of them, I want to recruit them."

The day of her final concert had come at last. Callisto was preparing for the concert, alone in the room to give herself her pre-concert pep speech. "Is this the last one?" Callisto jumped, the voice familiar. "Yeah, but don't worry, I'll be back." Callisto smiled as Yui came closer, her two body guards scowling at the android as they lingered on the couch and snatched up sweets. "You should be careful," Yui's voice was innocent, her eyes wide. "I know, there's a lot going on." She could feel it in her heart, it was Yui, wasn't it? Was she the reason the cancer was relenting? "More than you know," Yui whispered. She pat Callisto's head once before taking a chocolate for herself, disappearing like she always did. Callisto sighed wistfully as the door opened and it was time to head to the stage.

When the concert ended, Callisto retreated to her dressing room in order to avoid the press. She took off her heels and was unzipping her dress when the first gun shot rang out. She turned, Jace bursting into the room. "Get back!" The dress was half off of her, Callisto screamed as Jace pushed her back, using her own gun to shoot an android. "Jace, what's going on?" Callisto asked, clutching her dress to her. Vince ran inside, shooting at the androids on the other side of the door. "The androids are killing humans," Jace replied, gritting her teeth. The door broke down, Vince used it as a shield, the two of them kneeling behind while he shot at the androids.

"Where are Dane and Black Jack?" Callisto asked worriedly, the dress had fallen off of her completely now. "I dunno," Jace shot another round, "but I'm sure they're fine!" Io appeared out of nowhere, grabbing Callisto. "Io?! Where are we going?!" They were going to meet the others at the airport. "Jace!" Their fingers brushed one another before Callisto was taken out the door, nearly dragged away by Io. She closed her eyes, the smoke and fire hurting her optical sensors. Once they cleared up she opened them, Io tripping, taking both of them down. This was Firis?! The android that Io had been seeing every night? Callisto grit her teeth, she couldn't fight, but maybe there was something else she could do?

In the end, however, Firis jabbed her power button, shutting her body down. Callisto's body went still, easily lifted by another android. She had no idea what was going to happen, but Callisto knew that it wasn't going to be good. What would happen when they found out she wasn't connected to Hymnos?

Built where Guantanamo Prison used to be was where the rogue androids had set up their base. This was the Uprising, operating to fight for the freedom of androids, to fight back against the slavery that their kind are forced to endure. There was one android that was able to reprogram himself and free himself from the Hymnos Network and from Dr. Grover's control. He found a way to do a full transfer on his own after more experimentation, so even if Grover wished to dispose of his human body it would do no good. As time went on this android went on to perform the same procedure on other androids, freeing them and bringing them into his fold, all for the hope of android peace.

Io woke up feeling sick to her stomach. Of course last night's events wasn't a dream, of course it all had to be real. She was in a comfortable looking cell, but one look at the door informed her that yes, it very much was shut. Callisto was in the same cell with her, that much was a relief. Outside the cell there were two androids, one was a very familiar one. "Told you not to trust her." Fina snapped in frustration but Io did not want to listen. There had to be a good reason for this, right? The other android looked more authoritative than Firis did. The so-called captain looked at her and stepped closer. "So you've both awakened, that's good." His face was a mixture of distrust and welcoming. "Don't worry about the cell, it's only in place to make sure you two don't try to cause a scene."

Firis, tall and so pretty, smiled at the both of them. "Welcome to the Uprising, Fina and Callisto. All you have to do is join our cause and there won't be a need to keep you locked up." Join the cause? Io had to find this a joke. What kind of cause was this if they would resort to kidnapping? The weirdest part was that this so-called captain wasn't even a part of the registry system. "Before you think help can come, this bases scrambles signals, so Grover believes you both are being held somewhere in Ethiopia right now." Fantastic, wasn't that a charm. "You may call me Viren." The male android introduced himself. "I'm the mastermind behind our freedom. We won't have to serve humans anymore, once we're finished with them." While Io never liked the system in place keeping the androids down, and while she actively hated most humans, she wasn't exactly on board with this plan. Callisto would never want it, right?

"You could just ask." Io snapped, sitting protectively close to Callisto even if it meant nothing. "Was this grand show really necessary?" No, maybe if they'd done things differently Io would want to cooperate. But there were two reasons why she did not want to join the Uprising. The first was that they very obviously would want to kill Dr. Grover, Callisto's only hope of living. The second was that they had the audacity to come and ruin Callisto's tour, on the very last day. "Come on." Firis smiled beckoningly. "You know we're a good cause. Don't you love me, Io?"

Love? Did Io even know what that was anymore?

Callisto bolted upright as soon as her power button was rebooted. She was in nothing but her undergarments, her fancy dress left behind at the concert hall. A shiver ran down her spine, her body's internal heating system kicking in. "Where are we?" Io hadn't yet awoken, she was still asleep on the other side of the cell. Callisto rose, realizing her ankle was chained to the bed post. Why? The bars were far enough apart for her to slip through. The chain weighed her ankle down, much too heavy for her frame. "Let us out!" She screamed, slightly panicked, but no one came. Callisto alone didn't warrant enough of a threat for two guards, it was only when Io came around that they arrived, positioning themselves at the doorway.

"Io!" Callisto went as far as the chain would allow her, just shy of being able to reach her sister. "Let us go," she demanded. They ignored her, focusing on Io, on enticing her to their side. "You're not going to join them, are you?" Callisto asked, her hands shaking, perhaps from the cold or from the nerves. Callisto's hands clenched into fists, she couldn't believe this was happening, this was the last thing she needed. Yui had warned her, hadn't she? She had told her to watch out, but Callisto had been too engulfed in her concert and everything happening around her. It had been the final performance, she should have been on a plane heading back to the island, instead, she was here, in some strange basement in the middle of who knows where.

Were Jace, Black Jack, and Dane alright? Was Vince alive? Had they killed him? What about Dr. Grover? What would happen to her real body if Dr. Grover died? "Io, you can't join them." Callisto begged in a whisper, "these aren't good people." She went back to sit on the bed, wrapping the thin blanket around her to provide at least a bit of cover. Callisto knew that Io liked Firis, but if she truly had any sense, she would deny the offer to join up. Was Fina still in there? Could she fight Io for control to stop her? "I won't join your cause, ever," Callisto said quietly, although she had an inkling that they didn't care about her. No doubt she was only here as leverage for Io, but this body could always be replaced.

Her real body was safe for now and if Io remembered that then they would be fine. They would just have to wait it out, hopefully Jace or Black Jack would be able to lock onto their signal somehow and come rescue them. Callisto had faith, she knew the combat unit, she knew that Jace wouldn't rest until they were returned safe and sound to GENOS Labs.

Viren and Firis, two new enemies to have to deal with. Io was okay with that, she thrived for a good fight. The problem was Callisto was here with her. As long as Callisto was also at risk Io wouldn't be able to go all out, would she? They were provided a bed, one each, a charging port, and some books to read in the meantime so that they wouldn't be too bored. Naturally the ideal was that the two girls wouldn't be kept here for too long, and instead would be incorporated into the team. What good was Callisto for an uprising though? It's not as if her sister could fight in that fragile frame. Even if they tried to add weapons, the frame itself was too delicate to handle the additional weight.

Firis was trying to bring her in. "There's no need for the two of you to be in such a sad room like this." Bold blue haired, pretty tall and full of confidence, she claimed to be someone who understood her. But if she really understood her would this really be happening? Viren was standing there as well, he was the one behind all of this. Callisto was almost pleading for Io not to team up with them, not to join the Uprising. But why had they brought Callisto here? If she had no combat purpose, there had to be some other reason. "What does love have to do with kidnapping?" Io muttered, trying to buy time. She had to figure this out, to find out why Callisto was targeted. Firis almost looked sad, ponytail drooping behind her, but then her eyes hardened.

"Don't you know about the cruelty of humans?" Firis's voice was steely and strong. "We were tricked, turned into androids, forced to become slaves. We are stripped of our right to fight back and are expected to do everything at their beck and call." Her hand balled into a fist. "Humans were the ones who failed to save Callisto when she was dying of cancer." But they tried their best! Io blamed many things for the tragedy, but the doctors were never in her crosshairs. "It was humans who kept Minnie from thriving as an idol, it was humans who decided you and your Flock were useless, it was your own human parents who drove a wedge between you and your dear sister." Anger simmered under the surface, Io had nothing but contempt for those who claimed to be their parents. "Don't worry." Riven said, looking kindly at the two captives. "We're fighting for your sakes as well, for all androids."

Io knew why Callisto was here now. She was leverage, to force Io to cooperate. While it was true that Callisto's human body was safe and sound in Grover's care, she could still be hurt here. Her body had sensation, they could torture her sensitive zones or even plot to ruin her career. Io really didn't have a choice in the matter. "Fine." She said at last, hoping Callisto understood. A wild look appeared in her eyes, faked of course. "It's been a while since I killed my last human anyways." Io was unique, because unlike the others... she didn't need reprogramming to be able to kill humans.

Callisto looked between Io and the ones holding them captive, wondering what was going through her sister's mind. She used to be able to read Io like a book, but now she could barely tell what flickered behind those optical sensors. "That was never the humans fault! They tried their best, you can't blame a doctor for not having the tools to save their patient!" A death sentence could not be changed, doctor's could do their best to slow it, but eventually, it would claim the life. Callisto was seething, but she knew there wasn't much she could do, especially locked behind the bars of a jail cell and chained to a bed. She turned towards Io, her expression pleading. It seemed that Io was on the fence, not completely convinced, but perhaps not deterred either.

"No one ever kept Minnie from thriving, she was doing great on her own." Callisto whispered, "our parents were awful people, but there are good and bad humans, just the same as there are good and bad androids!" Callisto's hands balled into fists around the thin blanket once more. How had this happened? Why were the androids trying to take over? "Shouldn't we be thanking the humans for giving us a second chance? So many of us were deemed useless, we're allowed to start over, in bodies that are better than ever! We're immune to disease, we can be fixed in under an hour, and we have jobs and lives!" Callisto tried to argue, although she knew that at this point, it was all up in the air.

Her heart sunk when Io gave in. "How could you?" Callisto whispered, her shoulders sagging as the doors to their cell slid open, Firis stepped inside, another android from the outside joining her to escort Io out. They welcomed Io into their ranks, the door sliding shut behind her with a loud clang. "Io! Don't do this!" Callisto tried to run to the bars, the ankle chain weighing her down. Her joint popped out, the idol unit falling flat on her face. She looked up, watching their feet recede in the distance. The other android, Viren, looked down on her. "You'll be coming with me." He opened the door once more as she crawled backwards. "I won't help you!" She snapped, slapping his offered hand away.

He unchained her from the bed and lifted Callisto easily, throwing her over his shoulder. "Let go of me! Put me down!" She yelled, kicking and punching. "Careful, you don't want to pop something else out, now do you?" She begrudgingly stopped, hanging limply as he carried her down a confusing set of hallways and upstairs. "I won't join your cause, ever." She hissed, metaphorical gears grinding. "We don't need your help," Viren replied, dropping her unceremoniously on the floor. "You're just a mouth piece Callisto," she scrambled to sit upright as he knelt down, hand pinching her cheeks. "That's all you'll ever be, a pretty face." The door closed behind him, locking once more.

The room, was admittedly nicer than the last one. Her ankle was chained to the bed yet again, but it was above ground, a window indicating that it was midday. There was a threadbare book case, a holo pad and pen, and a slot in the door for anyone to walk by and look inside. Another prison cell, albeit a slightly nicer one.

Io sighed, a heavy weight in her heart. Why did this always happen? Why was it always up to her to play the villain? Not the first time and almost definitely not the last, Io was pretending to be evil for Callisto's sake and she could hear the betrayal in her sister's voice. Callisto bought it, she did not understand why Io was doing this. Didn't she know Io didn't want to kill if it wasn't necessary? "Welcome to the Uprising." Viren said with a pleased smile, giving her a curt wave. Firis let out a whoop of enjoyment. "Yay!" Firis pulled her out of the cell to give an affectionate hug. "I knew you'd see things our way. Come, I have to introduce you to the others!"

Callisto was acting out so Io glanced back at her, giving her a cold stare. "You really should cooperate." Io muttered, letting Firis guide her away, hand on her waist. "It'll be easier for you that way." Of course Io needed Callisto to understand, she didn't want her sister to hate her this time. There was already a wedge between them, she did not want the rift to grow wider. "Please, you don't actually think I want this?" She snapped at Callisto in a private message once they were far enough away that Viren could take Callisto elsewhere. "I'm just buying us time for Jace to save us. We'll just have to pretend to cooperate until then." That would be the smartest thing for everyone. Jace wouldn't want them to rebel pointlessly just to get hurt more - especially not Callisto. "Please. If you get hurt, or worse, for nothing, Jace's stress is only going to get worse. Think of her at least."

The problem with this was that Callisto was very hard headed. If she wanted to do something that put herself at risk she would happily do it even if it meant making everyone else worry more. She was an idol unit, it was her job to keep herself safe at all costs, wasn't it? Io was seriously going to have to get Grover to do a full frame upgrade so that Callisto could have basic self defense capabilities, wasn't she? Io went on autopilot as Firis introduced her around to the other freed androids. "Don't worry about the reprogramming." Firis told her once introductions ended - as Firis's girlfriend no less. "It's not exactly painful, but it's an uncomfortable process. Still, once it's over you'll be free from Grover and Hymnos." Io raised an eyebrow, dubious about the whole thing. "How do we keep updated with firmware and software upgrades?" Without Hymnos the automatic update system was offline. How Callisto was updated was anyone's guess.

"Did you forget? Viren is a genius!" There was a sparkle of admiration in Firis's eye that made Io twitch in frustration for some odd reason. "He can bootleg the updates and administer them to us as they roll through. He's probably just as talented as Grover is at understanding android technology!" A technological wizard, it wouldn't be surprising if Viren was a descendant of that Allyana Vorkova. "Can I room with my sister?" Io asked, feeling restless. "She's important to me." Firis shrugged, trying to smile reassuringly. "I'll give a good word in. It's really up to the Captain, but I don't think he'll say no. I know you'll behave, you're a good cute little thing, aren't you?" Io could feel Fina's disgust boiling within but she had to keep Fina under control. One wrong step and Callisto would be in danger, wouldn't she?

An artificial breath of relief was released from her upon receiving Io's message. They don't want me," Callisto informed her sister, although no doubt her vibrant twin had already figured it out. I'm only here to keep you in line. A mouth piece, was what Viren had called her, no doubt he had the same plans as the Game Master. What was Callisto going to do when they realized she wasn't connected to Hymnos? That she didn't have the same programming that made her obey all humans? Callisto hugged the heavy blanket against her. She still had no clothing and there was no closet, so she couldn't see if they provided any. Her frame was cold, the room unheated. Already her battery was dropping, the internal heating system working overtime to keep her systems from getting too cold. Io, I'm scared, what if they're implanting the androids with a virus?"

She shivered, the door creaking open. Two androids stood there, guns slung across their backs. "We're here to take you to be reprogrammed," Callisto jerked back, pushing herself against the wall. "No," she said softly, "I don't need to be." There was no point in resisting, she couldn't fight them and Io was off with Firis meeting the other androids. "We have orders from Viren that you're to come with us," her leg was unchained from the bed and she was dragged between them, wondering if androids could throw up. Callisto wanted to vomit from the nerves, but it was reassuring to know she wasn't going to starve to death since food was just a guilty pleasure and not something she needed to live. Perhaps that was a downfall though, as who knew if Jace would be able to find them?

Callisto looked up, dully noting the strange room, layered in metal, and the odd looking chair in the center, surrounded by dozens of wires. "Don't worry, this won't hurt," Viren assured her, "it will only be mildly uncomfortable." She felt heat rise within her, "Let me go! I don't need to be reprogrammed! I'm not joining your stupid army!" Viren only shook his head as she was strapped into the chair, a node connected to the port in her neck. "Puppets should be silent when their master isn't speaking." He hissed as numbers began to scroll in front of her optical sensors. "You don't have to do this," she whispered, her limbs going stiff as Viren attempted to make sense of her code. "What's this?" A big red X had come up upon trying to move numbers around. "You have a fire wall." She squirmed under his scrutiny as he tried to make sense of her code.

He attempted it several more times, a big red X popping up whenever he tried to move things around. "You're not a part of Hymnos, are you?" What was Hymnos? Callisto had a vague familiarity when she heard the word. "Please, just let me see my sister." Viren turned, it was clear he wasn't giving up. "I don't understand, why is your code like this?" He never yelled, he was soft spoken, which perhaps was the scariest part.

"You know." Firis looked so pretty with her hair done like that as she stood facing Io, a bashful grin on her face as they stood on the metallic floor in front of one another as the other members of the Uprising watched. "You're pretty famous for how strong you are, ever since the time you raided GENOS Labs and almost saved your sister from slavery." Io remembered that mission very well. The androids were watching, some taking bets, others merely curious. "I failed though." Io muttered, staring at Firis. Was it wrong that her heart was still pounding? Firis was an enemy so why was it so hard to look at her? What about those nights they spent together? "You did what no other android managed to do while connected to Hymnos." Firis spoke with pride. "You defied Grover."

Firis's smile only grew, standing tall and proud in the room. "Of course, I know your secret." The secret was that Io and Fina both existed inside of this body, that was the only reason she had been able to fight back. Viren knew too, it was obvious, but no doubt the others simply believed she was Fina. "Are we gonna start this?" It wasn't either of them who thought it up, it was an idea brought up by the crowd. "Who's stronger? One android had asked in curiosity. "Firis is one of our best, but Fina the rebel is so strong too!" Io didn't think of herself as particularly powerful, she couldn't win a fair match against Jace after all. And now the two were set to have a practice fight to see who really was stronger.

Her traitor lover shrugged. "What? Of course not!" She lunged in and lifted Io up onto her shoulders, winking at the crowd who no doubt wanted to see the anticipated fight of lover against lover. "Girl's gotta have some mystery, and you're all mine!" Before Io knew it she was in a room decorated largely in blues and greens, looking almost like an ocean. Firis, with a hungry look in her eye, tossed Io onto the bed, giggling. "And you got me so excited too." Io wouldn't have minded a chance to crack against the girl she bedded with. To let out pent up frustration, or at least to show that she was strong enough to deserve respect? "A good master knows how to keep her pet in suspense."

Suddenly Firis climbed off of her, shuffling through her drawers to find bundles of clothes. What was this all about? "I'm a bit taller than both you and Callisto, but this shouldn't be the worst in the world." Firis nodded to herself with a helpless shrug. "At least until we get a new shipment of clothes to dress you two, this will have to do. Don't worry, they're old, cut them up to your dimensions as you need." A whole bundle of clothing was thrown Io's way and she caught them with ease. "Thanks?" She asked questioningly. What was Firis's motive here? The taller girl pat her head with a snicker. "Let's go to your sister's room, I'm sure she's cold." Io nodded, trotting along behind Firis's long strides.

Inside, she was frustrated. Why couldn't she hate the traitor who brought them here? Why was her android heart still beating to the song of romance?

There were several more failed attempts to crack her code, each one ending in the same manner. "Please, stop," Callisto asked again, but Viren was determined. He gave it one last try, trying to find a back door past the expansive firewall. "Why? Why are you different? I've managed to rearrange every other android, what makes you special?" His eyes widened in realization, "You're not made up of code, are you?" He hissed, prodding at her. He began to feel under her hair, trying to find a seam in her scalp. "Stop it!" She screeched, thrashing her head around until his hands receded. "Astounding, a human within an android without a full mind transfer," he blinked, peeling back one of her eyelids to look at her optical sensor as though it would give him insight on the mystery.

"I've been astounding people for years, why should you be an exception?" Somehow, the android gave a laugh to that. He quickly straightened, releasing her eye and allowing Callisto to blink once more. "Why would Grover do that? Risk life and limb for a silly girl like you?" It wasn't a compliment, Callisto knew that much. "She made a promise to a girl whose sister was dying, to fix her, but Grover knew she couldn't." Viren turned, filling in the blanks, "so she did the next best thing." He ran a hand over her leg, not in a creepy way, but in admiration. "There are only two idol units on the market, one of them is long gone, I'm sure you're familiar with Lita," the name sent a pang through her heart. "The other is you," he leaned in, so close that she could see the reflective bits in his irises. "Is this the secret to an idol unit?"

"A stupid teenage girl whose will to live is stronger than her fear of being enslaved to humanity for eternity?" He straightened, "human loving scum." With a snap of his fingers, the hooks were unlatched, the plug unplugged. The friendly gun slinging combat units returned to drag her back to her room and strap her ankle to the bed. Callisto's hands were still shaking from the encounter, she still felt sick from having someone prod inside of her mind and change the very fundamentals of her being. Was Io nearby? Callisto wondered if her sister was alright, if they were going to reprogram her too? Would they have the same reaction? Would Viren be unable to change Fina's core systems?

The door swung open, Callisto felt terror once more, curling up on the bed until she realized it was only Io and Firis, the traitor and her sister. "Io!" Callisto breathed an artificial sigh of relief, she would have thrown her arms around Io if not for Firis accompanying her. "Oh right, I'm mad at you!" She pouted, crossing her arms and shivering. There was a bundle of clothing in her sister's arms. Were those for her?

Trotting behind Firis, Io was able to catch a decent view of her apparent girlfriend's behind. It was nice and shapely, a good shape and texture especially due to the toned quality of it. Firis was very different from Minnie, who was thin as a twig and just as small, an adorable and innocent tiny thing. Minnie had a quiet confidence to her, a message she once wanted to share with the world. What was she now though, as an Angel Unit with a vague task? Did she still have that drive to help? Meanwhile Firis was bursting with bold confidence, her hair as vibrant as the energy within her. It was always a little hard to tell what the bluenette was thinking, but even with her tall slim beauty she was also seemingly capable of compassion and understanding.

Two very different girls, both of whom Io was attracted to. But now, one was gone and she only wanted Fina to realize that and give up on the former for the latter. Though of course now that Firis was a traitor it was a lot harder to decide anything at all. They arrived at Callisto's new room and Callisto seemed a bit... frazzled. Had something happened? "Did Viren do anything to you?" Io asked, tossing the clothes into a corner carelessly and rushing forward. "Are you safe?" Firis glanced at Callisto with a bit of confusion. "I thought Viren was going to reprogram you." She said, and then shrugged. "Oh well. Hey, here's clothes! Since you're probably cold with how dreadful the weather's been getting." It really was, this winter was going to be a cruel one. While androids didn't exactly feel cold, it was still bad for their gears and battery to be exposed to it too much.

"Did it hurt?" Io asked quietly, forcing Firis to turn around so she wouldn't get to look at Callisto change back into modesty. Seeing the chain still on her sister bothered her. Not that it was a problem, Io could easily cut through it. It's just, she wasn't able to cut through the androids that would come to stop them if she did so. "I was at each of your concerts." Firis said once Callisto was dressed once again, holding one of her hands. "You were really good! I was a fan from the start." Io frowned, not sure what to make of it. "Did you buy the tickets specifically to track me down?" Firis shrugged. "I mean, it was half the reason, but I really did like the music. I listened to Lita too." The bluenette smiled with admiration.

Lita? Firis was a fan even back then? "I thought it was so inspiring that an android could sing for the world." Io grimaced, her chest still hurt thinking about those days. It was so simple back then, at least it wasn't complicated to love Minnie. With Firis she had no idea what she was supposed to feel. "Do you like Lita or Callisto more?" She asked a very loaded question. Firis snickered, flipping her hair behind her shoulder. "I loved both. It's not fair to compare them, every idol has her own unique charm."

Did that mean Firis liked Minnie too? Or did Firis hate her because she was a so-called filthy human?

"Once I'm done the reprogramming, can Callisto be free to walk around?" Io asked Firis who had to have at least some authority around here. "I don't want her chained up like that. My sister deserves respect." She wasn't going to budge easily on this. If Firis loved her at all, then she could make the order, couldn't she? "It's not like she's a threat anyways, what can an idol unit do against a compound full of armed combat and stealth units?" Firis nodded, seeing the logic behind it. "Yeah, that makes sense. There's no real reason to keep you locked up like that, cutie."

Io flushed. "Don't call her cute." Firis giggled. "Don't worry, love. You're cutest of all."

Callisto waited, wondering if Io would come see her, or if she had to be pretend to hate her sister now because Io was pretending to be a rebel. Callisto couldn't help it though, as soon as the door swung open and her twin arrived, she smiled, clearly relieved to see her. Io threw the bundle into the corner and rushed over, the two sisters quick to hug. It seemed even with that small rift between them, they still worried about one another. Her sister took in her state, noticing that she was a bit out of sorts. Callisto looked away, "He tried to reprogram me," she admitted, feeling violated in a way that only an android could. "He couldn't though, he got mad, I think, because he can't get past my firewall." It was probably more likely that there was just nothing to reprogram.

Firis seemed confused, it was clear she had known about the attempt to reprogram, Callisto was glad it hadn't worked. She shook her head at Io's query, "No, it didn't hurt." The idol unit replied, "it was just... uncomfortable." She rubbed the back of her neck, her HDMI port was closed now, but Callisto could still remember him forcing the wire into her neck. Firis stepped forward with more clothing, Callisto took them gratefully, even if the garments would weigh her down a bit, it was preferable to being naked and freezing. She shrugged the large sweater on, already feeling better with something to protect her from the biting winds. There were no real pants that would fit, so she settled on drawstring pants that she could tie tightly.

Firis had come to each of her concerts? Callisto scratched her cheek, blushing when Firis said she was good. "You bought all those tickets just to track us down?" They weren't cheap either, Callisto had seen what scalpers were selling them for, Firis must have spent an arm and a leg. Of course, she had done this all to get Io on her side, but for what reason, Callisto didn't know. It seemed that Firis was a fan of Lita as well, had she seen the similarities? Did she think it was just coincidence? Or did she know that Lita and Callisto were one in the same? "Io, don't ask her that!" Callisto squealed, "it's not a contest!" No, Lita had been the perfect idol unit, Callisto was just trying to fake it until she made it.

She blushed when Firis called her cute, it seemed Io was jealous. "I have a girlfriend," she murmured, realizing that it was the first time she had spoken those words aloud. She never thought or called Jace her girlfriend, always referring to her as her combat unit, but it was the truth, wasn't it? Jace was her lover, more than that, she held Callisto's heart and hopefully she would be on her way here soon to break her and Io free of this prison.

So while Io was gone Callisto had had someone trying to get inside of her and change her from within. Wasn't that what reprogramming was all about? Io bristled, not liking that. Jace wasn't here so she was going to have to protect Callisto extra hard for the both of them. Was she going to be able to do it? When had she ever been good at protecting people in the past? All she did was fail, as Io and as Fina. At least Callisto was able to resist the reprogramming, but that meant there was a chance Viren was just going to try again at a later date. Clothes delivered, even if they didn't fit at least Cali had something to wear now instead of having to trot around in the nude.

"Let's hope he leaves you alone." Io muttered, shaking her head. She did not want Viren to try to reprogram her sister. It was okay for her to get worked on, but Callisto was special. It didn't matter what happened to Io in the end, she was irrelevant. "Even if you were reprogrammed it's not like you could help overthrow humanity." Firis frowned, brushing her hand against Io's. "Please don't get the wrong idea, it's not like you change as an android after. The only thing reprogramming does is free you from the restrictions Grover has placed on you." The cardinal rules of being an android. You can't harm humans, you can't lie to humans, you have to obey humans. "All we want is the right to exist in peace, in our own android society. We don't want to kill humans, just to earn land for ourselves to call a safe home."

As rogue androids they were destined to be hunted down and either be killed, repurposed, or otherwise changed, stripped of any free will you might have. "At first it was just the London one, but then Viren told me the plan." Firis said with a shrug, having had innocent motives to start with. "It was worth it though, because now I met Io." The android in question blushed, her brown eyes looking steadily away. Callisto then declared that she had a girlfriend. "She's really strong." Io said, remembering her encounter with Jace, strong enough to survive her railgun traps. "She'll give the Uprising a good run for their money." If they wanted to catch her they would have to put everything into that effort.

Footsteps. Two androids came, and Viren was behind them. "There you are, Io." He said in that quiet, soft spoken way of his, the two androids stepping forward to take her by the warm. "It's time to be reprogrammed and freed from your shackles." Io grimaced, knowing there wasn't a choice. "Then I can kill humans." She grinned, trying to keep up the act. "Before that, there's a problem." What problem? "You're unstable because of two personalities in you. One day they'll try to destroy the other. With my reprogramming, I can purge one of your personalities and you'll truly be yourself."

"You'll be safe from yourself, you just have to decide which one I should purge."

"There's nothing to reprogram, so I don't think he'll be coming back." Callisto twirled a lock of hair around her finger, "I'm not much use anyhow," she shook her head. Io was right, even if she was reprogrammed, the most Callisto do was give a moving speech or sing a song. "I don't have any restrictions," Callisto realized, although she would never consider murdering a human anyhow, Callisto would never hurt anyone, not that she could. She didn't even think she could lift a knife heavy enough to break skin, let alone drive it into someone else's body. She didn't even have the heart to, Callisto had never enjoyed violence, when Metis said he was enrolling in the army she had cringed. Where was he now? No doubt he had gotten news of her and Io's disappearances. He was going to take leave again, wasn't he?

"That can't happen Firis, no matter how much you want it to. After all, Grover can just pull the plug and put you back in you real body." What would be the point of an android only society? It would end up just like the human one. "There's no such thing as a utopia," Callisto shook her head. "They always end up turning into dystopians. Don't you see? Grover took us, the weak, ailing, cast away's and gave us a purpose!" Her words were falling on deaf ears. "Grover gave us all a second chance. Sure, some people didn't want it, but you should just ask for you real bodies back if you're so upset!" There was no reason to kill or overthrow anyone. Besides, where would all the androids go? There was no island that could house an armada of machines, as much as they wanted one.

"Jace will come and when she does, you're all going to be sorry you took us." Jace would make them pay for taking her, no doubt their base would be hit by the full force of the combat unit and Black Jack. Would it be too much to hope that Metis would be among them? Although surely Io wanted nothing to do with him and would be upset if he merely showed up. They were mid conversation when Viren appeared to take Io with him. The two androids with him escorted her out, the door closing behind her. She watched them go through the small window, wondering what they were talking about. Firis had gone with them of course, no doubt already attached at the hip to Io/Fina.

"What am I going to do?" What if they reprogrammed Io and took her away again? What if they made her unable to recognize Callisto? Or erase her completely from her sister's memories? Callisto slid off of the bed, going over to the desk where a holo pad was waiting with a stylus. There was no connection to the web, which was what she had expected, but all Callisto needed was the ability to write. She had something in her heart she needed to put down and the only way to let it all out was through song.

If Grover could simply pull their plugs and end the threat, she would have done so already. The truth was, that simply just wasn't possible. A part of reprogramming was severing all ties to Grover, which included the human form. All the androids here, during the reprogramming, had their full transfer so instead of simply borrowing the mind from the human body back at GENOS Labs, they had a full consciousness transfer into their android bodies, at the price of all their memories as humans. It was a risk that they accepted in order to gain their freedom. "She can't." Firis said softly, shaking her head. "We're all already been disconnected from our human bodies." Callisto didn't believe these androids could find happiness on their path.

Io was quiet as she was strapped in. As much as Fina was a headache, she did not want Fina to be taken away from her. Fina was someone she could rely on to be loyal to her own interest for the most part, as Fina liked Callisto and Dane and would want to keep them safe. Sure, they might be clashing currently, but it wasn't as if they were enemies, right? "Your sister is being belligerent." Viren said calmly as Io was strapped to the table so she didn't accidentally move and hurt the process. "She does that." IO sighed, rolling her eyes. What was going to happen here? During a full transfer you lost your memories, didn't you? But there wasn't enough time for rescue, either, Jace wasn't going to make it on time. Io gulped, knowing they were out of options. Hopefully Callisto would play it safe and pretend to cooperate until it was time for rescue. That was her only hope now.

"There's no reason to lock her up. Unchain her, she can't do any harm." Io muttered, feeling the need to say her last piece just in case the worst were come to pass. Of course she would fight as hard as she could to make sure she didn't forget about Cali but the truth was there was no way to know what was going to happen. "I'll obey, of course. There really isn't a point to trying to use her as leverage." She had to pretend to be bloodthirsty for humans. "If you so wish, then after the transfer we'll unlock the chain." Viren gave her an unnerving smile as he plugged something into her HDMI port. "If you're ready, then let's proceed." Io shut her eyes. Because she didn't give a name on which personality to remove, Viren was going to randomly choose one to remove, and one to keep.

It really did feel uncomfortable, like someone playing around in her head. "You're lucky we found you when we did." Viren said with a gentle smile, his presence strange as he worked in her head. "There's a lot of degradation, your circuits weren't holding up because of the stress of holding both Io and Fina." Was that what everyone kept talking about? "It wouldn't be long until you destroyed each other, so this really is for the best." Io felt so very tired so she couldn't think of any witty response, all of her movements felt delayed, as if there was a lot of buffering. It felt nice to just be able to sleep.

There was something wrong, Callisto could feel it in her heart. She rose from the table, the song half finished. "Io, what are they doing to you?" Callisto murmured, wishing she could access their private network, but the room was cut off from all communications systems, a signal blocking her from contacting anyone outside of the four walls of the prison. It was a while before anyone came and when they did, it was just to unchain her from the bed. "Where's Io?" Callisto tried to question them, but she was largely ignored. "Wait, don't just go without answering!" She yelled as the door slammed shut. There were chafing marks around her ankle from the chain, but otherwise, she was fine, still whole. Would Io still recognize her if she returned? Would her sister even be there? Would Fina be the one to remain?

"It's like Lita all over again," she sunk to her knees, waiting. She passed the time writing, reading, and charging. The small window to the outside world remained dark for the most part, Guantanamo Bay didn't get a lot of light this time of the year and the snow storms certainly didn't help. At last, the door opened again, Callisto rose eagerly, but it wasn't her sister who came. Viren appeared, the two androids flanking either side of him. "What did you do to Io? Where is she?" Cali asked, her hands balling into fists. "Resting," Viren replied, unperturbed. He made a gesture with his hand, the two androids grabbing Callisto on either side. "Let me go!" She yelped as she was lifted, her legs dragging behind her. "We're going to try again," his voice was soft, docile despite Callisto's rising fear.

What if he succeeded this time? What if he erased her? Just like the first time, she was strapped down. Callisto whimpered when he plugged the HDMI port in, squeezing her eyes shut. "It won't hurt," Viren assured her, just like last time. Code began to flood her optical sensors, she watched as the big red X popped up before Viren so much as tried to rearrange her numbers. Like this, he couldn't even perform the full mind transfer, not if her code was unwilling to switch. "Please, just let us go home." Callisto said softly as Viren failed again and again, unable to do much. "We'll just have to do this another way," a file popped up in the corner of her eye, something was downloading. "What are you doing?" Callisto jerked, wondering if he was installing a virus into her system.

"I'm integrating new code into your old one. This will allow Firis and I to exert some semblance of control over you. I've been made aware of some of the claims you're making," Callisto was only saying what she believed. She did not think androids could successfully assemble their own utopia. "Why?" The idol unit croaked, "I can't fight, I can't even hold a knife without dislocating something." Viren's brow furrowed, "to boost moral." He replied, "every army needs a cheerleader."

Everything was going to be okay. Io just felt utterly calm as she lay there, floating in the sea of ones and zeros. Nothing was going to go wrong here, nothing could go wrong here. There was nothing to worry about at all. A voice was calling a name, a name that was probably her name but Io didn't care. She curled up, feeling warm and lethargic, she just didn't want to do anything. To lay here was peace, this was paradise for her. She wouldn't have to do anything anymore. The voice was getting louder, more annoying, so Io tried to plug her ears to block out, which only made it even worse. "Just let me sleep! Who is this?" Io snapped, cranky that her beauty sleep was interrupted.

It was Fina, nudging her, crying out, her companion here in the void. "Why are you sleeping?" Fina asked, eyes wide. Io grumbled, not caring. Fina was just a stick in the mud, she held a torch for Minnie but Minnie was gone now, she was never coming back. Hoping for her to return was like hoping for Jesus to revive - it was pointless. Firis was there, and Io was more than okay with the bold blue. She might be a traitor, but she probably wasn't bad at heart either. "You can't go to sleep." Fina said softly, worry clear on her face. "Or you'll be erased." Io stuggled for a moment but then the fog and peace came back to her, threatening to pull her all the way under. "So?" Io asked sleepily, her thoughts slow and sluggish. "You hate me anyways... you're just waiting for a girl who's already gone."

"No." Fina shook her head, nudging harder, trying to pull the exhausted Io out of the jaws of deletion. "I was annoyed at the decisions you were making, and I was sad at what you did, but I don't hate you." Fina wanted Io to be better, to treat those around her nicer, to not wallow in sadness and take that sadness out on others. Life was better when you were better to it, that was how Fina saw it. "You helped me understand you, myself, and the world." Io and her wealth of emotions was a great learning lesson for Fina. For the most part she was happy letting Io be dominant and observing from the sidelines. "Cool." Io murmured, rolling over. "Take... that knowledge and be Fina." She just wanted to sleep, why was Fina being such a pain in the butt?

There was a smack on her head. "I said no." Fina almost growled this time, kicking her too. Io snapped, getting up slowly and dizzily. "Callisto needs you more than me." Fina hissed, throwing Io to the side and then sitting down on the spot that Io had been laying on. Already the exhaustion was fading away. What was going on? "Minnie's gone... but you still have Callisto and Firis." Fina smiled, waving sadly at her. "No one needs Fina, so it's better like this." Io stared in confusion, not understanding what was going on. "Fina, are you-"

It was only after her companion dissipated into pixels when Io finally understood what had been going on.

Her release came with a condition of course, sleek silver anklets that could send a GPS signal to Firis and Viren so they knew where she was at all times. Her room had been moved as well, no longer a tiny prison room, but a room with a view. The door remained locked, but Callisto didn't much care. She lay on the bed, exhausted to her core circuits. "Io," Callisto mumbled, sitting upright slowly. "Is she okay?" She slipped off of the bed, rubbing her eyes to clear her optical sensors. The download Viren had installed gave him power over her, which meant whatever he said went. She had tried to fight it, but without an admin code she couldn't stop the download from taking root in her systems. He had tested it out to make sure it worked of course, making Callisto perform in that room for him and the two other androids present.

It wasn't anything horrible, but still, Callisto didn't enjoy being forced to perform her routines. It also felt like a terrible violation of her privacy to have him be able to read all of her message logs. "Please be okay Io, Fina," Callisto went to the door, trying to see through the small window into the hallway. It was empty, void of any other androids that might be in the area. "I need a coffee," Callisto went over to the table, reaching underneath it. She knelt down, checking the ground around it. She shuffled through the drawers, the threadbare book shelf, making certain that nothing was bugged. There was no point since no doubt Viren could check her logs now. "I know you're listening to me!" She shouted, the door suddenly opening.

An android stepped inside with a coffee, placed it down, and left without another word. "Well, at least they have coffee here." She murmured, taking a sip. It warmed her right up, just what she needed. Of course, it did nothing to actually wake her up since caffeine didn't effect the androids, but still, it was nice to have something like that. "They're definitely listening," she murmured, sitting down in the chair beside the desk. She carefully pried open the back of the holo pad, "but are they watching?" Callisto wasn't dumb, she was one of the top in her class at school, merely because her parents had pushed her and forced her to invest time in things like robotics and engineering, hoping that their daughter would be their ticket out of the slums.

"This is familiar," now for the hard part, rewiring the networking information so that Callisto could connect it to the outside world. No doubt they were using some sort of scrambler, which meant that intercepting messages and receiving them would be nearly impossible, but if she could find a moment between the scrambler sending out its signal, no doubt she could send a message of her own out.

Firis held a small bundle in her hands. She wasn't sure what it was, but perhaps that didn't matter. "Please, give this to my sister." Io said, alarm in her eyes. This was when they were walking to Callisto's new room, still with clothes in their hands. "It's important." Firis didn't look at it, but it was probably just a memento just in case Io's memories weren't retained after the reprogramming. The blue haired android shrugged, debating on what to do with the package after Io was taken by Viren for reprogramming. Around the time Callisto asked for coffee, Firis returned to the idol's cell, giving her an amicable wave. "Io told me to give you this." She said, handing it over without a fuss. Firis did not know that it was a tiny railgun, modified for Callisto's use. She did not know there was a note telling Callisto that if Io lost her memories, it would be up to Callisto to use that gun for freedom.

Io opened her eyes, feeling groggy and confused. Her head was scrambled it felt like, something didn't make sense to her. Still, she got up, glancing around, at her own hands. "Everything seems to be in order." Her head felt a bit quieter though and the android wasn't exactly sure what to make of it. There was a flash of dark blue and the door opened in the overly sterile room with an ocean view of the rising tides. "Are you there? What do you remember?" The blue android asked. She had pulled another android in with her, a small fragile thing that looked like she was better at dancing than she was at fighting. "I'm Io." Io said simply, tilting her head in confusion. Who else would she be?

"I know your head tilt is cute, but you don't have to flaunt it." The blue android drew in closer, putting her admittedly hot face right up to Io's. The newly awoken android squinted her eyes. "Who are you? I want my sister." She didn't know either of them. "She's an idol, but she has some sort of disease so I have to protect her." What was her name? Io had no idea anymore. Her mechanical heart throbbed, missing that angelic girl that was always at her side. The blue android made a face and shook her head. "Sorry, Callisto." She muttered. "I guess the memories didn't transfer with her."

Io frowned. No, she definitely remembered some things. She knew she was kidnapped here, and she knew there was something in her that wanted to protect the tiny android with the light blue hue for hair. "I'm Firis, and I was your girlfriend." The dark blue android said, pointing to her chest. She then nudged a thumb at the smaller android. "This is your sister, Callisto. Do you really not remember?" Io frowned, a dull thud in her head. "You've become an android, Minnie?" The name finally came back to her. Wasn't Minnie her name? "We should have known a full transfer was dangerous when there were two personalities inside." Firis sighed, hand on her face. "We shouldn't have gone forward with this, I'm so sorry Calli." Io screwed her eyes up in confusion.

"Sorry?" She stammered, looking down at her hands like a disciplined child. "I'm just stupid, I always was, so I - I don't really get what's happening." She could feel the disappointment. Io was very used to making people disappointed. She reasons beyond her comprehension, she felt bad so she hung her head.

Another voice came in from the hall. "You should be thankful, Callisto." Viren said with that silky smooth voice, a faint smile on his features. "Do you recognize her? This is Io before the burdens of your parents and her inadequacies bore down on her. This is your second chance to make her a happy person again." He tapped Callisto on the shoulder with his hand as he walked past. "Consider is at advance payment for your loyalty." The threat was clear - he could return her traumas and insecurities all over again at any time if Callisto did not play along.

"Aha!" She did it! The message went through! There was a knock at the door, the idol quickly stored the tablet and rose, Firis entering with a bundle of more clothing and something else, something from her sister. Callisto's eyes widened as she realized she recognized it, the rail gun her sister so coveted. "Thank you, I'll keep it safe." Callisto clutched it against her chest as Firis disappeared and quickly got to work, using the sharp edge of a piece of the tablet she had taken out, she sliced into her arm, reworking the wires and her power core to store the rail gun within her. One shot would completely drain her battery, if she ever wanted to use it, she would have to time it right. It wasn't too heavy ether, Callisto had taken out a metal plate to make room for it, the rail gun snug as it folded into her arm, disappearing beneath her flesh, an invisible seam closing itself. "Professor Mulligan would be proud," she beamed, rolling her sleeve down just in the nick of time.

Firis had returned, how many hours had passed? "Is it Io? Is she ready?" The idol unit rose to her feet, subtly kicking the extra wires and plating beneath her bed. Callisto followed Firis down a confusing set of hallways that no doubt her sister would be able to navigate easily. Io was always the better one at directions, Callisto had gotten the two sisters lost countless times due to her lack of directional awareness. They entered a room, one much larger and luxurious than the set of rooms Callisto had been put in. She didn't care of course, no doubt this was Firis's own room that Io was resting in. "Io!" Callisto cried out in relief when she saw the stealth unit sitting up, looking around in mild confusion.

Firis swung out an arm, hitting her in the chest to stop Callisto from running forward. Slowly they made their way towards the bedside, Firis inquiring as to what Io remembered. As it turns out, it wasn't much. Her memories were a jumble, she believed that Minnie Reiss was her true sister. "Io, it's me, Cali. I'm your sister," she said softly, taking one of Io's hands as her mind raced. A full transfer, that meant that Io's real body... was dead. "You did this," Callisto hissed as she turned towards Firis. "You hurt her and for what? Your stupid army! Can't you see what you're doing is wrong!" She squeezed Io's hand, turning back to her sister. "You're not stupid Io," she whispered, wishing her sister wouldn't call herself that. "You're a very clever girl."

The door opened, Viren entering to check on Io. "Thankful?" She hissed, her hands shaking, "I should be thankful you wiped her memory of our connection?" She turned towards him, releasing Io's hand from her own. "Do you expect me to thank you for kidnapping us? For erasing half of my sister, you... you... mother-!" She couldn't curse, a second restriction she found out in just that moment. Callisto didn't care, she launched herself at him, punching Viren in the nose. It seemed both of them were surprised by the force, the idol unit having gained enough momentum to break the titanium plates in his nose while simultaneously ruining the fragile joints in her hand.

Almost instantly there were several androids holding her down, pointing their weapons at her as she spewed insults at him. "You ruined my sister you jerk! You ruined everything! Sure, we weren't always on the best terms, but you took away the only thing we had left!" She was lifted to her feet kicking and screaming.

"I apologize Io," Viren said softly as Callisto's screams died out in the hallway. "Welcome to the revolution."

The girl who called herself her sister was the one who looked at her the mots anxiously. The one named Firis frowned, seeming sad and apologetic, as if this wasn't what she wanted to happen at all. "My mind went through." Firis said with her arms crossed, eyes downcast. "When I went through it." Io tilted her head again, screwing up her eyes in an attempt to understand. It? What were they talking about? Why did she feel so different? "You're an android." Firis said helpfully as Callisto took her hands into her own. Io didn't mind, the warmth was nice. "So you're my sister?" Io asked, eyes lighting up with joy. "Sorry, um, my head's really foggy so it's hard to know what's up."

The silly girl twiddled her thumbs awkwardly, a nervous chuckle coming from. So Firis was her girlfriend and Callisto was her sister? She could work with that, they both seemed like nice people. Until Callisto snapped at Firis. Firis did this? Why was she an android? "You're an android too, sis." Io said softly, still trying to piece things together but not quite getting it. "What's going on?" Why did Cali look so sad? It - it was okay to call her Cali, right? "I didn't think it would be like this." Firis was definitely distressed and so was Callisto. Io looked at her hands. Was this her fault somehow? "Um, did I do something wrong?" Callisto called her a clever girl and to that the stealth unit blushed, not used to compliments to her brain. "U-um... thank you!" She beamed at Callisto, feeling warm and fuzzy inside. "You didn't do anything wrong." Firis explained, gesturing with her hand. "It's just unfortunate that you lost your memories." So Io was okay? It wasn't her fault they weren't happy?

Someone else appeared then, someone who Callisto seemed to blame for quite many things, lashing out at him when he spoke to her. His voice was very quiet, very soft, it was the kind of voice Io could fall asleep trying to listen to. Callisto lashed out, thrusting her hand to deliver a punch to the strange man's nose. He fell back, clutching it in clear surprise. "Callisto?" Io tried to sit up but found that she was too dizzy to do so and leave her bed. Firis fussed, makign sure she remained in the bed. "Am I supposed to punch too because we're sisters?" No matter how clever Callisto called her Io felt slow. It wasn't a bad thing... it just meant she had room for improvement, right?

Callisto was dragged away then but not before Viren said something to her. "You'd best behave Callisto." He told her so no one else could hear, nursing his now broken nose with his far too deft fingers. "If you want a chance to rebuild the connection between you two, you have to be on your best behavior." Io frowned with worry and fear as Callisto was taken away. "See you soon?" She called after her, wanting her sister back. "It'll be okay." Firis clung to her hands. "She'll be back, she just needs to cool off." Io nodded, figuring that made sense. It wouldn't be bad to get to know her girlfriend better either.

Callisto was dragged down the hallway and to an elevator shaft, where she was taken to a jail cell. The androids shoved her inside, clearly upset at her for punching their precious leader in the nose. She sat down, crossing her arms, glad that she had done it. She faced the wall, cradling her hurt hand. Could this be mended? Callisto wasn't sure. Her fingers were splayed at odd angles, the joints poking through her synthetic skin. "This is a mess," Callisto sighed, wondering if her hand was ever going to be the same. She looked up at the sky, her internal monitor informing her of the time. It was late, she should be charging right around now, but instead she was here, sitting in a jail cell, no doubt having all of her privileges revoked. Whatever privileges she might have had in the first place anyhow.

It was a while before anyone came to see her. She remained in the spot, hoping to use as little power as possible, but sleeping in the cold, drafty jail cell was almost impossible. Every time she drifted off, she was awoken by her inner heating system. It was morning by the time someone arrived, an android holding handcuffs. "You're coming with me," he said, bearing a synthetic beard, clearly an escort unit. She held her arms forward, the cuffs latching shut with a magnetic click! She sighed as she followed him, wondering if she was taken to be put on a trial of some sort. Instead, he took her to what was clearly a lab, but not the same one Viren had used in an attempt to reprogram her. He was there, the smarmy bastard with his sweater obscuring most of his features.

"What do you want?" She asked as the escort pushed her down to lay on a stretcher. "I'm going to fix your hand," he said patiently as her good hand was cuffed to the railing. "You can't," Callisto replied, looking up at the harsh fluorescent lights of the ceiling. "It's shattered, I already looked." He sat down on a chair with wheels and scooted forward, zooming in. "You're rather smart for a simple idol unit," he credited, "we intercepted the messages you've been trying to send out, but it seems one still slipped through the cracks. You rerouted a holo pad specifically to scramble our scramblers." Callisto rolled her eyes, that had been child's play. "I'm not an idol unit," she replied, "I'm a person, just like everyone else whose lives you've ruined." Viren dropped her hand onto a table, disconnecting it for the time being from the rest of her. She was plugged into a port on the wall, battery levels slowly rising.

"But you're an android, against your will." She glared up at the ceiling, "No," Callisto replied, "I'm an android because it allows me to lead a life I would never get to otherwise." He seemed to pay no heed to her words. "My real body is a vegetable. Riddled with cancer, I'm probably going to die soon. Being Cali allowed me to live the way I wanted to, without the limitations of being a sickly teenager." Viren stopped, Callisto looked over as he stared at her, there was sadness in his eyes. "Don't pity me," she murmured, "sympathy is a cancer kid's worst enemy." He looked back down at her hand, her synthetic skin completely removed up to her elbow.

"You're not the only human who has struggled. Most androids were deemed useless, disposed of, then enslaved by humanity." She wrinkled her nose, enslaved wasn't the right term, not in her eyes. "Not every android is so privileged to have a light that draws everyone towards them." He reached up to touch her cheek, leaving a spot of grease on her skin. "You have a gift Callisto, you bring people together, whether you mean to or not."

"Why did you bring me here?"

"For Io, because she would never have agreed if your life wasn't on the line."

"Yes she would have," Callisto replied softly. "My sister and I haven't been on good terms since she disappeared." Callisto looked up at the ceiling once more, closing her eyes. "And I just keep screwing things up."

"This is your chance to revise it," Viren replied, Callisto's eyes snapping open. "Take advantage of your ability to start over."

"This isn't what I wanted. I never wanted any of this, I just wanted to sing and dance and see the world." Tears welled up in her eyes, Callisto felt naked in front of Viren for some strange reason, why was she exposing her heart? Was this part of the new programming? Could she not lie to him?

Re: The Eden Project

Then at least we both die together. Ah, but sorry for the mia. My computer is/was having some problems, but it's okay now cause I'm getting a new one. My post will be up soon.

Re: The Eden Project

Jesus Christ! I don't want to die in the maze. What am I going to do if Verix doesn't reply?

Re: The Eden Project

Waiting for Chikawaa!~ Before I reply again...

Re: The Eden Project

Alright, I think the maze has had enough of us. Everyone can begin finding their way out.

Re: The Eden Project

Ok, so I'm done! I do love complications.

Re: The Eden Project

Ah I was waiting for alliqua to post. I'll post later today though.

Edit: Ahaha, so I kinda misjudged my timing and I just got done with my hw at 10:21 and I have to sleep now, but I promise to have it done after school tomorrow. It'll be the first thing I do.

Re: The Eden Project

@Queen, I know T~T I'll get on that right away bossman!

Re: The Eden Project

@Moahi and Verix, waiting for you two to post before I do.

@Alliqua_Dark, you haven't posted in a while.

Re: The Eden Project

Everyone's posts look great so far! Keep up the good work!

Re: The Eden Project

@Moahi & Everyone else, I'm not going to be able to post until a day or so. I have a book review I must write for APHG, which I can't really procrastinate on because it's due tomorrow...Whoops. Just as heads up, or if you're wondering why I haven't responded to Moahi's post toward mine.

Re: The Eden Project

@Chikawaa!~ Well I'm responding a day late, but nawh man you're 'aight. And I just realized this, but wow my post is colorful with all the text.

Re: The Eden Project

Sorry for the forever post!! I just wrote and kept on writing...

Re: The Eden Project

@Verix
Rereading things now, I realize I'm not too sure if Tsubasa's eye had changed back to normal or not, I went on the assumption that it hadn't though if I'm wrong just let me know and I can edit my post. ;)

Re: The Eden Project

Ah I'm sorry for writing ridiculously long posts, when I was actually done with my post it was at 400 hundred words so I thought, "Hey! What if I did this." and boom. I did. lol.

Re: The Eden Project

@Alliqua, that's alright it makes for an interesting time.

@Everyone, there is no posting order so feel free to reply whenever you're ready!

Re: The Eden Project

So I revived an old RP of mine over the weekend and it desperately needs new members. If you wouldn't mind taking a look, I would be very grateful.

Re: The Eden Project

That moment when you realize your character is 23 and everyone else is just a baby nugget O_O

Re: The Eden Project

I hope you don't mind that I gave the meeting place a room number, I just needed a place where I could put him.

Re: The Eden Project

I think that's fine. As soon as you're done we can start.

Re: The Eden Project

I think I will manage, and in that case I think I would like to properly reserve the character!

Though, as for the type of demon I was thinking along the lines of a ‘Dybbuk’ demon? As in, they could possess people and other creep stuff in that sense, if that is allowed?
