PERSONALITY
Bölgrim supports the atypical personality that most Altmer have when it comes to interaction; prideful, somewhat racist, and usually narcissistic. He's a pure blooded High Elf and has been raised around a family that have fed his mind only the ideals and perspectives that Altmer are the mightiest of all races, even above the other Elf races because by default, they were the first upon Tamriel. Or that's how some Altmer see it. He was raised around a family that had slaves and indentured servants that were given awful pay and treated nearly as bad as the slaves his father owned. His father was a High General in the Thalmor and he fought during the Oblivion Crisis. Stricken with madness, his mother became obsessed with Necromancy to the point where she willingly allowed herself to contract Vampirisim and was then slaughtered mercilessly by those she once called friends and family. His sister is a High Justiciator within the Thalmor army and assumes him dead.

He has some issues because he was brought up in a semi-broken family. One could say the family itself was cursed with a stint of madness, or some simply assume it was just a very prideful family that developed madness over the years. Bölgrim supports certain characteristics that one would consider to be madness in Tamriel, he himself isn't mad, just...obsessed. His OCD for certain things often triggers conflicts and disputes with others. Ironic enough, and not oh so surprising, Bölgrim inherited his Mother's drive for knowledge. She too was obsessed with magicks, scrolls, and hidden secrets. Though her category was more upon the undead, his seems to be more simply on knowing. Knowledge is power and power gives one control over others. He has spent years in and out of Apocrypha which has caused him to be a bit disconnected from the world and sometimes from reality. He loves that plane of Oblivion and spends more time there than what he does in Tamriel given that his past has a reputation of catching up with him sometimes. His travels to Skyrim are scant, if nothing because he simply does not wish to associate himself with the current events. The whole slew with the Dragonborn and Alduin, Dragons returning, Civil War, Vampires running amok. Utter chaos. He fled to Solthstiem for peace and only managed to run into the whole ordeal with the Dragonborn and Miraak on the damned island. That and with the Thalmor after him? Apocrypha was a closed off sanctuary where no harm came to him.

Food shouldn't be touching each other upon the plate during mealtimes. As an example; if his brazed horker steak is touching the lavender sprig compote then it is unacceptable and he will not eat it until he is given a new plate arranged properly. Because of this, soup is something that he tries to avoid given that the meat and vegetables often touch one another or are clumped and clustered upon his spoon. Soup is simply disgusting to him and his compulsion is to part the meat and the vegetables on each side of the bowl, though all attempts go futile due to the broth simply mixing them back together. Tamra Root Tea is enjoyed, but not his favorite. He finds Honey-Lavender Sprig Cream Tea more. This preference often causes disputes with he and Master Neloth. Sometimes he gets addicted to Skooma. He's not a crazed fiend or addict, but he is in denial about his occasional addiction for the stuff.

Cleanliness is next to godliness. Bölgrim can tolerate a bit of dust and grime on occasion, but utter filth horrifies and disgusts him. Hoarders, messy eaters, slobs, and other miscreants within this category are often victims of his heckling and disgusted sneer. He detests beggars and the homeless, seeing them no better than mange ridden wolves that should be exterminated on the spot or run risk of spreading disease to the commoners. That being said; He will rarely, if ever, take steps within Riften because of its filth, beggars, sewers, stink, degenerates, and homeless. Music is enjoyed greatly and on the rare occasions that he returns to Skyrim, he is quick to make a stop at the Bard's College in Solitude to enjoy the music and partake in the weekly events of the Burning of King Olaf. Lycanthropes and Vampires are pig disgusting and should be skinned or burned alive. Such beings will be attacked on sight and destroyed as quickly as possible. Bölgrim shows no mercy or peace for such beings.

Punctuality is a trait that must be indulged in. Being tardy and slow is something that will get on Bölgrim's nerves and he will repeatedly nag and remind you of past situations where you were late before. Being late to an appointment, meeting, or special events shows that you have little interest in the situation and it confirms that you honestly don't care. This will drive Bölgrim's lash-outs to be quite vicious and even bordering on triggering violence. He is not fond of excuses and most of them are disregarded with comments such as; 'Well your grandmother should have died at an earlier time or a different day.' / 'It is not my concern if your child is sick with the Rattles' / 'I honestly do not care about the situation of your farm being raided by bandits, your wife raped or killed, and your children taken away to be sold into slavery. You're late. Remember to be on time in the future'. Yes, he has said things like this before and such comments often drive a nice dagger into people's feelings which causes them to retaliate with violence. It's not his fault that people are so damned emotional. Children are a nuisance, expensive, and sticky. He can tolerate them off and on for short periods of time, but given that his own childhood wasn't the greatest, Bölgrim simply doesn't enjoy the company of the younger generation. They're loud, obnoxious and too curious for their own good. Parents that do not discipline their children upon just situations will be silently judged.

Bölgrim has a home. Actually he has multiple locations he calls 'safe-houses' that involve security, information, and peace. His main home and domain resides within Apocrypha where he is peacefully in bliss to indulge in his powers, worship, studies, and services of the Seekers that provide books and tomes for him to read over. Unlike Miraak, it appears that Hermaeus Mora has given the Altmer a looser leash when it comes to travel. The Telvanni Tower is his secondary home, though he sees it more as a resource for local information and an access to Master Neloth's staff enchanter. His other home is located in Skyrim just on the outskirts of Whiterun and before Rorikstead. Books must be alphabetized. No exceptions. Once a month, he goes within his library and spends a good portion of a few days going through each and every book to ensure that they are in their correct place and none are disorganized. If more than six books are found in their wrong spot then he will assume someone has been within his territory and will proceed to collectively flip his shit. His paranoia will be triggered and his old Thalmor ways will be brought up once more in the process of brutally interrogating his associates, allies, and workers mercilessly.

He knows members of both The Thieve's Guild and The Dark Brotherhood due to their assistance in helping him flee the Thalmor, though he makes no mention of such information and ensures that those who he knows of are kept anonymous. This could also explain his ways of obtaining illegal artifacts, drugs, and contraband by mysterious means. He was part of the Great War and present during the signing of the White-Gold Concordant, which enforced the ban of all Talos worship. In some exploits and during the war, he was seen as one of the heroes of the Aldmeri Dominion and the Thalmor by successfully following in his father's footsteps. Of course this didn't last too long. Bölgrim is banned from the Skaal Village. He's not permitted to step foot within their territory and every time he does he is met with glares, death threats, and the possible ax being thrown in his direction. He's also not willing to go into details on how THAT happened.

Given that slavery has been abolished in most parts of Tamriel, this does not stop Bölgrim from enslaving the 'lessers' and putting them in their rightful place. Though it is difficult for him to obtain slaves by willing means (because that alone is a contradiction), he partakes in the acts of Stockholm Syndrome on prospecting beings that he wishes to have as 'loyal and indentured servants'. A lovely loophole; if they're willing then it isn't enslaving. This means that soon to be servants are hidden and locked away, beaten, tortured, and all around mentally and emotionally manipulated to the point where their mindset is they need/love Bölgrim and without him in their lives they are doomed to Oblivion. The brave, strong willed, and too uppity are unfavorable, a waste of time, and quickly disposed of.

Bölgrim is blind in his left eye. After an incident when fighting in the Great War, he managed to obtain a nice cut over his eye from the opposing side which rendered him blind. Because of this, he has difficulty seeing on his left side and must turn to properly see. Even his right eye is having trouble seeing properly these days and he's sure before he reaches his 70th Birthday that the possibility of becoming blind is unavoidable. He's accepted this and occasional, he wears a blindfold for a number of days to enhance his other senses until the day he wakes up completely blind. Contrary to popular belief, he's a homosexual. Though his attitude and companionship is often revolved around females, any sexual acts with them is null and void. It's not that he hates every single woman in Tamriel, some are even beautiful in his eyes, but in the past he's simply had very bad sexual experiences with females and decided to go for the other team years ago.

BACKGROUND
Bölgrim was born and raised upon the beautiful shores of Summerset Isles with his baby sister, mother, and father. In a way, his childhood was the classic perfection of any Altmer child. His father a renown and respected individual within both society and the Thalmor, one could say Bölgrim grew up around getting treated damned near like royalty. His food was the best, his toys were always new, and servants were required to bend backwards for his beck and call. Whatever Bölgrim demanded, he often obtained swiftly. Though he was blessed with a silver spoon in his mouth, the Altmer boy lacked one thing; A Parent's Love. Oh of course his parents loved him, but their way of love seemed more superficial and bought with shiny, new things to distract him from the disdain that they rarely, if ever, interacted with him, let alone showed any physical compassion or affection towards him. The only time he felt his mother's touch was when he was an infant and held in her arms or given a hug and the occasional kiss. The only touch he felt from his father was a backhand to the face when he was punished and the occasional, awkward hug, but other than that, his parents rarely interacted with him. So in stereotype, Bölgrim was the spoiled, rich kid that was neglected by his own parents. His primary caregivers were servants and 'purchased' caregivers. Slaves were also caretakers for a short time as well.

Once Bölgrim came of age, he was initiated into the Thalmor just as his father and his father's father before him by taking upon usual tasks. At first he was just a lowly provider. Signed the papers, delivered messages, but by the time he was twenty-four, he had developed into a seasoned and well trained soldier for the Aldmeri Dominion. He fought in the Great War by the time he was twenty-nine and at the end, he was shoved into the ranks of a Thalmor Justiciator as well as claiming his father's title when the old man died in the War. His mother had also followed him to the grave two years later after the discovery that she had been bitten by a Vampire and contracted the disease. Bölgrim and his younger sister had little to no idea that their mother was hiding such a secret from them, yet luckily their mother did not contract the disease until their father passed on. Supposedly, the fear of death and of losing her only love encouraged Bölgrim's mother to seek out a way to cheat death and a way to bring their father back. In the end, she became dangerously corrupt and even mad in a way by converting all of her time and skill to Necromancy. When she was discovered? She was slaughtered by her own friends whom discovered such secrets. By the time all of this had happened though, Bölgrim was traveling through Cyrodiil and on his way to Skyrim. Heartbroken, the Altmer attempted to disregard and close off most of his strain in losing both parents not even a decade apart from each other. Yet, he wasn't deeply troubled by the loss. In a way it felt like an awkward relief to know that their personal burdens would not be passed on to him and his sister.
It's not like they cared for them anyways..

Bölgrim stuck to himself and as a Thalmor Justiciator. He roamed the lands, high and low, searching for Talos worshipers and capturing Stormcloak soldiers to interrogate and torture. Actually, it was a large sum of anyone that were Talos worshipers and anyone part of the rebellion. Even fellow Imperial soldiers were being slaughtered by his hand. For what reason? Because his superiors commanded him to and it was his job. To say he reveled and indulged in it is an exaggeration, but the perk of being an interrogator and Justiciator gave you power and authority over others. More so, Bölgrim craved secrets and knowledge. He thrived on dark, unknown, and mysterious whispers that many were unable to hear. Ancient artifacts, old relics, rare tomes and scrolls filled with all kinds of delicious wisdom that he found insatiable. Upon his travels, exploration, and growing collection, his desires for hidden knowledge led him down the road to where he came in contact with the Daedric Prince known as Hermaeus Mora whom found the Altmer somewhat in his favor and his insatiable craving for secrets to be oddly delicious. In the acts of completing Hermaeus Mora's quest, Bölgrim became one of the Daedric Prince's Champions and obtained the Oghma Infinium as a reward. He read upon the pages and discovered untapped knowledge that made him powerful. In his wiles and cravings for more, Bölgrim renounced his Thalmor alliance, unbeknownst to the Thalmor at the time, and dedicated his full attention towards being Hermaeus Mora's Champion and discovering more unspoken secrets from ages past and present.

Surprisingly, few know that being a loyal Thalmor is a life debt that can't be replaced and paid off. Once you are aligned with them you are aligned with them for good. One that abandons and turns their back to the Thalmor often receive a knife to their throat and are wanted for going AWOL, betrayal, and are instantly targeted as traitors that are hunted down like the dogs they are. Bölgrim knew well enough that word would reach the Thalmor the more he went about Skyrim so he planned ahead and went into hiding. Most of his hiding locations were Dwemer Ruins and caves. Sometimes he hid in plain sight by dressing up in his old Thalmor robes and going within cities to obtain his usual needs. Yet in the end, the pursuit and hunt for the Altmer was starting to take a strain on his lifestyle and his objectives, so he made the final option to leave Skyrim and return on occasion for the sheer sake of nostalgia, research, and visiting old companions. His new life was set to blossom and grow in Solsthiem, where he obtained a nice manor after assisting the Guard Captain weeding out a few Hlaalu Spies and in return he was given the manor for his good deeds. A simple task with a proper reward.

It wasn't until word of the Dragonborn reemerging did Bölgrim get into more trouble with the Thalmor. Somehow or another, they were tipped off that he was hiding out in Solstheim and the hunt for him began again. Tired of fleeing, Bölgrim retaliated with fury and lashout at both Justiciators and Soldiers that were after him. With much force and magical powers, Bölgrim was confronted by a rather large contingent of Thalmor soldiers and hired mercenaries to capture him dead or alive. In the end, he took down many and the battle within an abandoned fort was nigh epic and much bloodletting was had. Yet in the end, Bölgrim became trapped and cornered within the abandoned fort. He could neither run or hide and with the last bit of magic and energy he had left in him?
He prayed to Hermaeus Mora.

Once the Thalmor and their allies managed to break through numerous barriers and fighting off Bölgrim's gang of undead and summoned Daedric forces, they found only the tattered remains of an old, black book and his finger left behind. The Black Book was left to stay and rot where it was, the Thalmor assuming it was just something old and burned while they fully raided the fort in search of the mysteriously fleeing traitor, yet the found nothing on how he could escape let alone how he managed to get past them without being killed. They retreated, assuming him dead, and returned to Skyrim with more important matters.

Three years passed and it wasn't until the Dunmer Telvanni Mage known as Master Neloth was exploring the decrepit and half scorched ruins of the fort. He discovered the Black Book and knew instantly for what it was. Upon his readings, some how or another, Bölgrim had managed to be released from Hermaeus Mora's realm known as Apocrypha. When the Altmer came to, he was confronted with an array of questions and Master Neloth overjoyed, if not excited to discover that a living being that was coherent enough to explain their adventures in that plane of Oblivion. During Bölgrim's recovery, he and the Dunmer Mage Lord conversed for what seemed like weeks, both of them trading information, Bölgrim telling him of what events had taken place in Apocrypha, though he didn't go into great details. Over time, an awkward, if not weird, relationship grew between the two Elves. Master Neloth enjoying Bölgrim's company out of the sheer sake of having first hand experience in another plane as well as being a worshiper of Hermaeus Mora, yet he didn't enjoy the Altmer's fancy for being sometimes a bit smarter than he was at certain things. Bölgrim enjoyed Neloth's company due to his disregard for for the Altmer's shady past. Neloth cared little for the Thalmor and he cared much less about the conflicts transpiring in Skyrim over the Civil War. His loyalty was to House Telvanni and he confirmed this repeatedly.

In the end, the two somehow started sharing more than secrets in their privacy. To say that it was romance and love is laughable and hilarious to the both of them. Both fully agreed that their attraction to each other was dubious if not a distraction to their research, but lust is a difficult feeling to disregard and with both being a bit too haughty and proud to just lay about with any lesser being, they concluded that they could both equally state each other's urges if such temptations ever arose. Life partners? Mates? Lovers? A Couple? None of the above. Just two Mer practicing Dibella's gift and indulging in something that brings pleasure.

STATS, SKILLS & SPELLS
850/850 / 650/650 / 400/400
Magicka || Health || Stamina
Level: 62

→CONJURATION - MASTER
ʙᴏᴜɴᴅ sωᴏʀᴅ
ᴄᴏɴᴊᴜʀᴇ sᴇᴇᴋᴇʀ
ᴅʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴢᴏᴍʙɪᴇ
ᴄᴏɴᴊᴜʀᴇ ᴅʀᴇᴍᴏʀᴀ ʟᴏʀᴅ
ᴄᴏɴᴊᴜʀᴇ ᴀsʜ sᴘᴀωɴ
ᴄᴏɴᴊᴜʀᴇ sᴛᴏʀᴍ ᴀᴛʀᴏɴᴀᴄʜ

Bölgrim is a master at Conjuration spells and those listed are the most common spells he is often seen using. His favored happens to be Conjuration of Oblivion related beings from the void to do all the fighting for him. His tactics often revolve around such methods; send the lackey in to bruise up the bastards then jump in to make the final blow. More than often, he doesn't need to be equipped with a weapon since he usually uses bound sword to bring fourth a one-handed blade. Combined with his skills in one-handed combat and the enhancements of bound sword being able to automatically soul trap, Bölgrim has little worry when it comes to using soul trap spells. All he needs is an empty soul gem (black/white) and something alive to kill with the summoned blade to capture souls.

→DESTRUCTION - ADEPT
ᴄʜᴀɪɴ ʟɪɢʜᴛɴɪɴɢ
ʟɪɢʜᴛɴɪɴɢ ᴄʟᴏᴀᴋ
ʟɪɢʜᴛɴɪɴɢ ʀᴜɴᴇ
ʟɪɢʜᴛɴɪɴɢ ʙᴏʟᴛ
sʜᴏᴄᴋ
ɪᴄᴇ sᴛᴏʀᴍ

It's obvious that Bölgrim has spent much of his focus on the elements of lightning and storms. He seems to have an odd affinity for electricity, though he is unsure why. Either way, most of his destruction spells are rather painful and for him, quite difficult to handle. He's had moments where he's ended up hitting allies in combat or simply his aim being rather off. Because of this, he often prefers the simple lightning rune when it comes to setting traps before others and lightning cloak to protect himself from any pesky brutes that intend to face him head on in combat. Ice Storm was taught for the sheer sake of emergencies. Bölgrim only uses such a spell in dire situations when he's greatly outnumbered 10-to-1 and his allies have either fled or perished.

→RESTORATION - NOVICE
ʜᴇᴀʟɪɴɢ
ʜᴇᴀʟɪɴɢ ʜᴀɴᴅs
ʟᴇssᴇʀ ωᴀʀᴅ

Pretty damned useless for Bölgrim and more or less a source of great comedy for those that wish to mock him. He doesn't enjoy practicing restoration magic, he finds it a weak subject and reserved for beginners and newly recruited apprentices that have yet to find their footing in magic. Restoration is reserved for the 'holy' folk. Priests and Priestesses of the Divines and those that partake in being healing maidens for others. Nevertheless, he only uses these spells for the sake of 'show'. Lesser Ward is nigh useless for he depends more on Alteration magic and light armor to defend his body and Healing Hands are for the mere sake of taking care of others just in case the situation is dire and he is unable to whip up a potion. It's only a 'last resort' type of magic that he rarely, if ever, uses.

→ALTERATION - ADEPT
ωᴀᴛᴇʀ ʙʀᴇᴀᴛʜɪɴɢ
ɪʀᴏɴғʟᴇsʜ
ᴀsʜ sʜᴇʟʟ
ᴄᴀɴᴅʟᴇʟɪɢʜᴛ

Bölgrim partially enjoys Alteration sometimes. It's not overly wondrous, but he keeps himself honed in the school of it due to his broad travels across Skyrim and Solstheim. He mostly prefers using candlelight for obvious dark places, for his eyesight isn't up to par, and ironflesh is used to add that extra bit of protection for his body. Waterbreathing is also quite useful, for there are plenty of sunken pirate ships and underwater locations that he's interested in. Still, it's a necessity and he won't progress further with Alteration.

→ENCHANTING - EXPERT
So he may not be a Master Enchanter like Master Neloth, but he's managed to harness the powers of soul gems to able to enchant a plethora of items, weapons, and even mere clothing. It's not much of a secret that Bölgrim may sometimes enchant items for those not bright enough to do it themselves. For a rather steep price though depending on what they want enchanted. Either way, his enchantments always come out strong, sturdy, and effective.

→ONE-HANDED - ADEPT
One could say that it's obvious how Bölgrim managed to get so well with the blade. He's served in the army and he was part of the Thalmor, but over the years, the Altmer has simply gone a bit rough around the edges. He's not as quick to pluck a blade from the ground like he was in his younger years. Finding an interest more in magic and in tomes, Bölgrim dropped the sword and replaced it with books. Because of this, his skills with wielding weapons has deteriorated from when he was a Master down to an Adept.

→LIGHT ARMOR - EXPERT
Being struck multiple times with only wearing a robe and some boots to protect you from hammers, daggers, arrows, blades, and axes really tones up your body. Bölgrim has developed a very high tolerance for pain and has the scars to prove it. Although this does not mean he can take a blade to the chest and shrug it off with ease, but it simply means that he knows how to pad himself with leather under his robes and he's smart enough to weave shielding spells to protect his body from serious harm.

→ALCHEMY - MASTER
Who needs Restoration when you have potions!? Bölgrim loves potions. He loves various ingredients. He enjoys his Alchemy set. And to narrow it all down he loves Alchemy. Documenting and experimenting on new potions/poisons is a favored hobby of his that he never gets tired of. For a short time, he depended so much on Restoration magic. Though it was helpful and well enough when it came to defense, it simply didn't reach his expectations when it came to proper recovery in his eyes. That and he's an offensive type of guy in combat so tossing a poison at an enemy or drinking a potion that enhances his own abilities to nigh god-like is more enjoyable.

→SPEECH - AAPPRENTICE
Bölgrim is only an Adept in speechcraft because of his upbringing and his past authority he held with the Thalmor. In all honesty, he spends more time bribing and intimidating than using compliments and flattery. He's a silver tongued bastard, with a mouth full of venom that spits some of the most offensive comments and insults you may ever hear come from an Altmer. He has no qualms with openly speaking his disdain for certain races and he indulges in the saying; Money Talks. Nevertheless, he does get by sometimes when it comes to conversation, but because of his lack of skill in the art of communication and socialization, he comes off as crass, rude, and just plum odd to most folks. This makes it difficult for him to form friendships and companions too..
