Marcus Alexander Daniels || 21 || Male || Bisexual || Law Major

Oh, my, feels just like I don't try

Look so good I might die

ImageThoughts On The Feud?
Although her otherwise may not care about the feud, Marcus does tend to at least humor the little three-way struggle for power going on between the Carters, Daniels, and Ashers. He takes part in it, but more for his own personal amusement than anything else. He doesn't hope that the families will reconcile because he is having fun enough with the current situation. It is probably selfish of him, but Marcus has never been the most selfless of people.

Personality?
Although Marcus is by no means a corrupt person, or doesn't consider himself to be at least, the young man is not the most selfless of people, and tends to live by a philosophy of the ends justifying the means. If he has done a good thing by using bad means, he considers it worth it, not against getting his hands dirty in order to help others. Yes, he is a reasonably kind young man, when he wants to be at least, and is the one who will step in and take the shadier jobs or responsibilities so that another person doesn't have to. He is the sort who refuses to admit to his generosity, though, that movie character who helps someone out and then lies through his teeth about his involvement until he is painted as a bad guy and is slapped by the heroine. He once convinced someone that he had been trying to seduce their crush, so that they wouldn't have to know that the crush had been using them in order to get to him.

He plays the villain, and acts as though he takes pleasure in this self-placement. Maybe he thinks that it makes him cool, but it is more likely that Marcus doesn't want to be seen as the idiot who is willing to put others before themselves. Besides, these actions and situations do not quite make him a pure-hearted person. Despite his secret-knight streak, he can actually be a very selfish guy, and many of his kind acts hurt other people in order to get his target to feel better. He focuses on specific people to be kind to, not just a broad range of people. He won't actively target people to be cruel to, but it does happen when people are in his way or what inconveniences them helps him reach his goals. His stubborn refusal to admit to any kindness leads him to be rather verbally vicious to people, after all, and those who know him, but do not know of this side, tend to dislike him to some extent. And, when it comes to being vicious, he is really quite gifted. Marcus slays people like Buffy slays vampires, and has a tongue so sharp that it is a wonder that he doesn't cut his own mouth on it.

In fact, he has more than once come off as a complete asshole without having intended to, hurting feelings when he wasn't intentionally playing his accustomed role of a complete prick. Like one of those cliche and slightly frustrating characters in a drama, he can be trying to comfort someone, and then wind up making a new enemy. It isn't too common, but only because Marcus doesn't tend to comfort a person with words- the whole secrecy thing, if one recalls. But he's frightfully stubborn, and won't admit that his intentions had been good from the beginning, instead becoming grumpy and frustrated and genuinely insulting them, digging him even deeper into a ditch. He rarely gets out of it, unless some slip shows the person his true intentions- that slip being either an unintentional hint towards a past act, or the amused explanation of someone who knows him very well.

Other than being awkward in a strange way, secretly nice, and painfully stubborn, Marcus is actually quite charming when he wants to be, having the typical Daniels family charisma. When he isn't playing the bad guy, or being strangely awkward, he is gifted at keeping his cool and charming the pants off of anyone who is being faced with the attempt. He doesn't often make an effort towards it, finding it tiresome, but is an ambitious person who isn't too far beyond manipulating others, complete strangers or close friends, into helping him. As previously mentioned, he may be inclined towards occasional silent kindnesses, but he is far from selfless. For the record, he is also quite fond of amusement, and isn't in the business of denying himself things he is fond of. Like a spoiled child, he likes to play games, and he likes to be in charge. When he really likes something, he tends to covet it, like the kid who refuses his toys. Yes, Marcus is very possessive under certain circumstances, but luckily they aren't overly common, as he tends to only like things, not really like things, and there is a distinct difference.

Channel woke up to sunlight hitting her warm brown eyes. She blinked in confusion as she looked around the room before registering in her mind that she spent the night in Marcus's room. She glanced at his long toned arm gently wrapped around her and sighed. Marcus had a habit of being cranky if she woke him up. She slowly eased out of his arms and as she quietly scooted to the other side of the bed. She sighed as she got out of his bed without stirring him. Once out she stretched her arms and legs and examined herself in the mirror. She frowned at her bed head and ran a hand through her long hair that when done hung all the way to her waist but was currently in a fit of tight Shirley Temple curls that stopped at her rib cage.

She strolled over to his bathroom and shut the door as she took a shower. She let the warm water run over her and sighed finally feeling awake. She expertly styled her hair until her soft waves cascaded tangle free and glossy down to her waist. After putting on her intimates she slid on one of Marcus's button ups which, due to her rather small size reached her knees. She went downstairs, careful to not be seen by his parents and made coffee. She was now a regular at the Daniels house, so she knew his siblings were used to her and liked her enough however his parents were not her biggest fan.

She brought the cups upstairs to Marcus's room and set it on his nightstand closest to him. She leaned down letting her hair fall like a veil onto him and kissed him lightly "Marcus baby wake up," She said sweetly. She saw him smirk and stir but not wake up and shook her head in a slight annoyance "Seriously, babe I want us to go out today like normal people. You know to like get coffee and do something couple like. Not stay in the house all day so get up." She finally said.

She grumbled slightly before settling on sitting in his chair which sat at the perfect angle in front of the window that the sun shined in. She loved that spot, it made her feel like and Angel and it looked like light was surrounding her. She closed her eyes and let it soak in as she waited for her lazy boyfriend to wake up.

Marcus, who had previously been in the middle of a frightfully mundane dream about nothing of consequence, feels the tickle of hair against his face, and reluctantly wakes up just enough for his eyes to open slightly to get a glimpse of the beautiful young woman leaning over him, the one with the chocolate eyes and perfect mouth -which is busy on his, for a brief moment. Stubbornly, he shuts his eyes again and smirks slightly at her attempt to awake him before turning over onto his side, feigning that he is still sleeping although that he knows that the smirk certainly gave away his half-hearted charade. It is a rather childlike act, as well, given that he is just pretending to still be asleep so that he won't have to get out of bed. He has never been the sort to rise early, and anything before nine is early for the young man. There is a reason that all of his classes are scheduled for the afternoon, and it isn't so that he can take a six hour jog beforehand. As his back is facing her, Marcus misses the shaking of Chanel's head, a gesture not unlike how a parent would probably react to a stubborn child. Yes, he certainly doesn't act his age. Or perhaps he definitely acts his age, if one is to be inclined towards the belief that most people in their early twenties behave similarly to children. He would certainly be a shining example of any such beliefs.

Finally, he deems fit to roll over, twisting the sheets over his body slightly as he props his head up with his arm and looks at Chanel inquisitively after her comment. "Like normal people? How pedestrian. Let's not and say we didn't," he complains, losing the will to prop his head up and letting himself fall back into a fully laying position. Still though he is lying down, the young man keeps an alert air about him, staring up at the roof. He can smell the coffee, and grins before sitting up and grabbing the cup to take a long drink of it. "Thanks."

"Alright, I'll humor you. What do you have in mind for this 'couple-like' activity?" Marcus asks lightly, before taking another long drink of the coffee, which is helping to wake him up somewhat. The sheet has fallen to his waist, revealing a toned, but not buff, upper build. His hair is a bit of a mess, blond locks sticking out in a rather funny and erratic manner. Even in this state, he looks the part of a young man from an upperclass family. Perhaps the minimalistic but elegant decor of his room helps to accentuate this image, though. Most of the pieces are designer, but they are never busy nor over the top. Marcus's room is done in gray scale, with a few bursts of color here and there. One of these bursts of colors are his boxers, which have Bugs Bunny printed on them, revealing one of his secret pleasures: old cartoons. As in, the original versions, not the weird remakes of today.

Channel smiled as saw her boyfriend wake up.
He stirred a bit before saying  "Like normal people? How pedestrian. Let's not and say we didn't,"  He lazily layed back down before acknowledging the coffee she made. She was about to whine when he said "Thanks."
The comment itself wasn't weird however her boyfriend was usually very entitled so moments of appreciation were usually rare and usually signaled that she was going to get her way.
"Alright, I'll humor you. What do you have in mind for this 'couple-like' activity?" Marcus asked casually.

Channel giggled and hopped onto the bed lightly laying down on his stomach, she kissed him on the cheek before talking about her plans. "Well I was thinking we could ya know, go get a coffee at Starbucks and go for a walk. Or anything else if you want but I want to have a real date,"She emphasized the word real. "It's just with the pressure of our families we haven't been on a real couple date or done couple things. Besides Imnsick of hiding from your parents and sneaking out. Whether they like it or not I'm here and were dating. I refuse to tip tow around like a mistress around your family." She began to speed up toward the end and waited for his reaction for a second. One thing about Marcus: he doesn't take orders from anyone, including her. She quickly kissed him on the tip of his nose before walking to his dresser.

As a compromise since she stayed over his house at least three times a week he allowed her to have a few dresser drawers. She cringed at the word allowed as it popped in her head. She hated that part of their relationship. In most situations it was what Marcus said goes. Usually she didn't mind but she hated being tamed and recently it annoyed her quite a bit.

She reached in and grabbed an outfit.. Consisting of a white lace top and kaput of black shorts. Which she paired with a pair of no heel platform booties. She applied a light amount of makeup and put a head chain around her halo of dark curls. Which were begining to look less like waves and more like thick bouncy curls. She sat on the corned of Marcus's bed.

She had to admit her and him were a peculiar couple, especially when she stood next to him. What with her her exotic hair and dark features, her curvy body blessed with an hourglass shape, and her small height. While he on the other hand looked regal and the perfect combination of upper class and aristocracy. He was the perfect mix of blonde hair blue eyed genes. She was the exotic beauty and he was the untouchable upper class. She looked like she had been through a lot, which she had. But he looked like money and power, which he had.

She quickly texted her siblings so they wouldn't worry about her.

Alaura had spent most of Friday on an incredibly long plane ride and instead of going to her family home, she had checked into a hotel near the airport. Exhausted from jet lag, she had crashed out before telling anyone she had flown to their new Californian home. Flying was one of Alaura's least favorite parts of her job and preferred having a couple of drinks while on board to ease her nerves. From the bill she got, Alaura could tell she had had a bit much. Her agent had flown on the same flight as her, and he had been kind enough to see her into her hotel room. Dazed and buzzed, she watched the light of the hotel lamp outline his figure. Why did her brothers not care about her as much as he did? Oh... because I make him millions of dollars.. "No one loves me..." she sighed tiredly, thinking of her family and how distant she had become with them. "Nonsense, you have millions of fans," her ever-positive agent replied. With that, he left, leaving her alone in the expensive hotel room.

Saturday morning greeted her by glaring through the windows. With a disgruntled grunt, she rolled over to see what time it was. Time for her to be in the world of the living! Joy.. Alaura closed her eyes against reality and the hangover she was dealing with. After a hot shower and an hour spent on her makeup and hair, she was ready to get dressed. Alaura dug through her Louis Vuitton suitcase and pulled out a simple outfit that would be perfect for hanging around the beach, which is where she wanted to go. Alaura made her way out of the hotel, pulling her luggage behind her.

Alaura took a cab back to her house, and grinned at Tina, the house keeper, as she walked up to the house. "You're home!" Alaura grinned, shrugging and nodding, unable to speak because she was so happy. Someone was happy to see her! "Yep! I'm home! Tina, is anyone home? I thought maybe we could go out together..." "No, Miss. Everyone is out, or... busy." Alaura knew what she meant. 'Busy' was the housekeepers polite way of saying otherwise engaged in sexual activities. Rolling her eyes, she let out an annoyed sigh. "I will unpack for you," Tina said gently, seeing the look of disappointment on her face. Alaura offered a quick 'Thank you' smile, and just as quickly it vanished. She turned and left the bag with the housekeeper, walking to the family's car garage. Moments later she was driving down the streets of California in her white maserati.
Image

Alaura pulled into one of the many VIP parking garages and decided to go on foot from there after she had reached the heart of the city. What to do... what to do.. She put on her white Coach sunglasses, in hopes that maybe she won't draw as much attention to herself. A coffee shop on the corner was calling her name, so she slipped in. After ordering her drink, she sat in one of the window seats, watching the busy world that was California flash by. Absentmindedly, Alaura pulled out her cellphone to text her brother.

To: Marcus
Message: Tina mentioned you were busy this morning. You ruined my surprise. I'm in town, the series has gone on break so it's vacation central for me. I'm bored. Come meet me? - A

She attached her location to the text, and pressed send. Repressing a sigh, she took another sip of her coffee and looked back out the window, searching the crowd for a familiar face.

Chanel lays on top of him when he gives in a little bit by asking what she has in mind as far as couple things go, and kisses him on cheek before beginning to talk. She isn't very heavy, and he stretches out his arms to wrap around her body, holding it against his own while she chatters on about her plans for today. Towards the end of it, she strikes him as being slightly whiny about the situation, but is in a good enough mood to not be a grouch about it, as he usually would be. Even he notices the way that she rushes through the end, complaining that she feels like a mistress tiptoeing around his family, before kissing him on the nose. Marcus grabs her wrist just before she gets up and pulls her in for a kiss before allowing the dark-haired girl to spring up onto the ground and walk over towards the dresser, opening up one of the drawers that she has in his large dresser. "Tiptoeing around like a mistress? I don't know, isn't that kind of hot?" Marcus comments nonchalantly, raising an eyebrow suggestively at her before finally sitting up and swinging his legs around so that they are at the edge of the bed, his feet touching the cold wood floor of his bedroom.

He yawns somewhat dramatically and runs his fingers through already messy hair, pushing blond locks out of his face temporarily, before they fall back over his forehead. It isn't necessarily that his hair is long, but that it is straight and parted in such a way so that some strands have the tendency to fall all over the place. He's accustomed to this, however. Marcus hasn't had short hair since he was around fourteen years old and still in middle school. After that point, he grew it out, and now keeps it at this length for the most part. There have been exceptions here and there, but not very many and often followed by a long period of normality once more. He likes his hair the way it is, after all, and sees no truly compelling argument to change it.

"Well, let's rule out Starbucks, anyway. One coffee is enough for me," he decides, not an excessive coffee drinker in the least. The most that he will ever drink is one cup a day, and only in the morning. Other than that, he is content with tea or a soda. In some situations, cranberry juice is also acceptable, and he isn't particularly averse to a drink now and again. The young man walks over to his en suite bathroom and strips, taking a rather fast shower before getting out and wrapping a white towel around his face and walking back out. The process takes all of seven minutes, because, just as he isn't one for excessive amounts of coffee, Marcus isn't the type to take long showers, either. He walks over to the dresser, as Chanel now sits on the corner of his bed, and begins to sort through clothing, until deciding on an outfit. It's composed of dark dress pants and a matching suit jacket, over a white V-neck shirt and beige V-neck sweater.

After changing, Marcus turns around to face Chanel. He is about to say something, but the cell phone on top of his dresser goes off, so he checks it first. Marcus is the type of guy who, eight times out of ten, will answer a text in the middle of a conversation. He quickly scans the text from his sister, Alaura, and smirks slightly.

"Alaura's back," he informs her. "We can go for breakfast at a diner, and then meet up with her or something, okay?"

Regardless of her response, he is already sending a message back to his sister. Out of his siblings, she is probably the one he is closest to, though that may not be saying much, given that Jayson and Luka have their own clique thing going on.

To: Alaura
Message: If Chanel can come, though I think you'll be fine with that. -M

Alaura glanced back down at her phone as the vibrations brought her back out of her thoughts. She quickly responded that, Duh! of course it would be fine for Channel to come. After the text was sent, she proceeded to dip back into her own personal bubble. Prior to the interruption, she had been thinking about her ideal wedding. A silly thing to think about, really, when she wasn't even romantically involved with anyone, but still.. she couldn't help but imagine how the affair would play out. She imagined a blow-out wedding, one that would put the Kardashian and Princess Kate's weddings to shame. For that one day, she would be a true princess, like her father always called her. Alaura continued to plan the fine details of her dream wedding until she had come back around to the fact that she wasn't dating anyone at the moment.

Brushing her fantasies aside, she turned her thoughts to the feud that had brought her family to this obese and sun burnt country. She looked out the window at the sunny California weather and suddenly longed for the cool rain of England. Was power really all there was to her life? She became and actress and a model originally because she liked it... now that it was all backwards politics and hectic schedules... why did she stay? For the fame? For the lack of privacy? Alaura took another long drag from her coffee to sooth the thoughts in her head. Surely she was more than just a pretty face! She graduated grade school with honours, after all. She picked up her cellphone again, checking to see if her brother had texted back just yet, but of course he hadn't. After all, it had only been about four minutes since she texted him, and he was probably on his way already anyway. Patience was never really her strong suit. She glanced around the coffee shop, noticing one of the Asher girls. Channel's sister, but not the fashion forward one. Uninterested, Alaura turned her attention back to the window and the busy rush of people outside.

To occupy her time, Alaura began to speculate about the lives of the people around her. I bet you have four children, and a devoted wife... in Cleveland, who has no idea about your Brazilian mistress here in California... you dirty dog, she thought to herself as she watched a man in a business suit hurry across the crosswalk. And you, well, you live at home with nine cats.. and I bet you're registered on at least four different dating sites... The red headed woman in her late forties was hailing a taxi. People watching was one of her favorite pass times, though admittedly she was almost never right. Life was never like the movies, and people just weren't as interesting as she wished they would be. No, sadly, mostly everyone just went about their mundane 9-5 jobs, day in and day out. And that's why I act, she concluded to herself. I never want to be another straw of hay in the stack. I want to be the needle.

Jayson was beginning to eat and have idle chit-chat with Dakota when suddenly her phone made a sound signalling a message. She saw it was Luka's message for a party and she had raised an eyebrow. She quickly finished eating and bid Dakota farewell at least for now if he was going. She had no idea what type of party it'd be but knowing Luka such things didn't matter. She sighed as she walked out of the diner. In times like these She'd usually go to one of her sisters but Eleanor was god knows where and Alaura may be back home. She could also go to Chanel but if she was going to the party she had to figure out what she was going to where first. Jayson finally decided it may be best to just to go to her sister Alaura.

With that in mind she texted her, 'Hey sis can you help with my wardrobe for the party? Oh and I have great news I want to tell you that I think you can help me with.' after sending the text she sighed. Jayson knew Luka had texted everyone he pretty much knew and seeing as how it was at their estate many people would dress formally. 'I wonder if its a ball.' Jayson thought. She took out her phone once again and texted Luka. 'Big bro what type of party is it?' after sending the text she quickly made it home. She knew Marcus and Chanel should probably still be home so she went up to Marcus' room. "Chanel, Marcus did you get Luka's message yet?" She asked through the door. Jayson wasn't one to invade someone's privacy by just walking in someons' room unannounced. On the other hand Luka was and has done it multiple times to his siblings. Jayson wondered momentarily if he had done it to Marcus and Chanel. She shook her head to rid herself of those thoughts as they didn't matter right now. What mattered at the moment was the issue of the party.
