{Full Name}
Elijah

{Nickname}
Eli but only if he is really close to the person calling him that.

{Wings Description}
Elijah's wings are quite large and obviously very sturdy. They are a brilliant white that almost seem to glow in the light.

{Name of Sword}
Oblivion

{Sword Description}
Oblivion is a katana that is quite bonded with him. The sheath and hilt are white with slight swirls of silver splashed in to accent it as well as having a silver chain coming out of the hilt where a cluster of brilliantly colored red and blue feathers hang. When he uses the weapon, it almost seems to thrive off of Elijah's emotions. The blade takes on a slight glow depending on his mood. Red for anger. Pale blue for calmness.

{Sexuality}
Heterosexual

{Role}
Archangel

{Mentality}
Elijah neither loves nor hates the Humans. He would help them or hurt them if given a reason that he deemed worthy of action.

|{Quirks || Habits || Oddities}|

▪When stressed or lying, speaks from the corner of his mouth.
▪Is unable to take advice from anyone because he thinks that he knows it all.
▪Hears voices in his head.
▪Tilts his head to the side when listening to said voices.
▪Sliding the tip of one's index fingernail up and down along the side of the thumb beside it.

|{Talents || Strengths || Skills}|

⚘Intellect⚘
Elijah has quite a high IQ. He is always thinking or trying to come up with different possibilities. There are very few who can match his wealth of knowledge.

⚘Musical Instruments⚘
He is able to play a good handful of different instruments though the piano is his favorite by far. Anytime he plays, he no longer hears voices and feels a release. There is nothing else that brings him such happiness.

⚘Indifferent⚘
Elijah is nearly always relaxed or calm. It takes a great deal to cause him to change from this to something more heightened such as anger or stress. He also seems to not care about much, though if you know him well enough it is easy to see when he does. His nose tends to twitch slightly when he does find interest in something.

⚘Flying⚘
As he is an Angel, Elijah can fly quite well. Though he is quite graceful when in the air, he actually prefers keeping his feet on the ground. He will only fly if there is great need.

⚘Swordsmanship⚘
Elijah practices the sword fighting style of Muso Jikiden Eishin-ryu. As such, he has an array of different positions and attacks. The bond between Oblivion and himself only works to strengthen this fighting style.

|{Flaws || Weakness}|

⚘Stubborn⚘
Once Elijah has decided upon something, it is very hard to change his mind. He has only been persuaded from a decision twice before.

⚘Swimming⚘
As a Angel, Elijah cannot swim and so he tries to stay far away from any large and deep bodies of water. He's fairly certain should he ever get in the water, he'd sink.

⚘Straightforward⚘
Elijah doesn't beat around the bush..so to say. He's always simply telling it how it is..almost to a fault at times. He tends to rub people the wrong way at times though he honestly doesn't care.

⚘Overconfident⚘
He has no doubt in anything that he does. Regardless of the outcomes. He believes he is always right and the way he holds himself shows that. However, this has gotten him into trouble in the past quite a bit.

{Fears}

øDeathø
He believes there is nothing for him after death. Just a eternity of nothingness. He would have no thoughts, no nothing. He cannot even begin to imagine such a existence.

øFalling in Loveø
He's never loved anyone before and so fears doing so. He's afraid that by loving someone, he is being weak and that is something that he's not okay with.

{Secrets}

✤Smokes Cigarettes✤

{Personality}
Elijah typically comes across to those around him as arrogant and aloof. He rarely truly smiles, instead opting to use one that is fairly tight. For the most part, he plays the part of genius fairly well. He always looks down on those around him, thinking that they are, in no way, near him in ability or power. Though he does hear voices in his head, he's fairly well put together and most would never know that he has such a problem. He tends to keep his face fairly blank for the most part only allowing those that are very close to him to see more emotion.

He is a fairly laid back person. He does nothing without thinking the outcomes from his many different options. Elijah, though he would never admit it, enjoys spending time with the few that he does truly care for. He almost never raises his voice and is quite often his voice is just as void of emotion as his face is.

{History}
Elijah spent much of his time before arriving on Earth behaving as a Archangel should. He always obeyed every order he was given so long as he had been given a reasonable cause for it. After arriving on Eath, when Michael was killed, Elijah no longer had anyone giving him orders. He then joined the fight against the Humans, having been persuaded to do so by a fellow Angel. After this had ended, he proceeded to not join in the fighting for the now open position. He took a different approach. He proceeded making sure that he was gaining the approval of the others regardless if their opinions mattered. he only openly fought when the need arised.

For the most part, Elijah spends much of his time in the Aerie. He normally doesn't party too much though does make himself seen. When he isn't with the others, he most often enjoys playing the piano or reading..trying to learn something new. As of late, Elijah has been spending more time alone than normal.

{Happiest Memory}
His happiest memory is when he first learned to play the piano. To him, there was no feeling that even mirrored what he felt when he'd played for the first time and it hadn't sounded terrible.

{Saddest Memory}

His saddest memory would have to be the moment that he found out Michael was dead. He'd always looked up to him and finding out that he was dead had caused Elijah to become a bit more withdrawn, if possible.

"Wake Me Up"

Feeling my way through the darkness
Guided by a beating heart
I can't tell where the journey will end
But I know where to start

They tell me I'm too young to understand
They say I'm caught up in a dream
Well life will pass me by if I don't open up my eyes
Well that's fine by me

[2x]
So wake me up when it's all over
When I'm wiser and I'm older
All this time I was finding myself
And I didn't know I was lost

I tried carrying the weight of the world
But I only have two hands
Hope I get the chance to travel the world
But I don't have any plans

Wish that I could stay forever this young
Not afraid to close my eyes
Life's a game made for everyone
And love is the prize

[2x]
So wake me up when it's all over
When I'm wiser and I'm older
All this time I was finding myself
And I didn't know I was lost

Didn't know I was lost
I didn't know I was lost
I didn't know I was lost
I didn't know (didn't know, didn't know)

He was currently locked away inside his room, sitting at the grande piano. Elijah allowed his fingers to glide gracefully across the keys, the music soothing his soul. He did this often any time he found some free time. Many of the others did not understand why he enjoyed such things and honestly, Elijah never really felt the need to explain himself. The Archangel allowed his eyes to close as he continued playing the beautiful music.

He was unsure as to how much time had passed when there came a knock at his door. He stopped playing immediately, rising from his seat. Elijah made his way to the door, unlocking it, and then allowing the person to enter. It was some Human that normally took care of his needs. She bustled about his room, going on about him needing to get ready for the festivities. Elijah merely watched as she began setting out his clothing for the evening. When she was finished, he thanked her softly before seeing her out of the room. "I believe that I can finish from here." He said as he closed the door and locked it once again.

The Archangel made his way back through his room and began dressing. A grey suit with a sapphire colored tie. It was his most favorite tie and he was fairly pleased that the girl had paired it with the suit. Elijah finished getting dressed and then made his way to a mirror. He began fixing his tie and making sure that everything was where he wanted it to be. Elijah then headed to his bathroom and began fixing his hair. This, he spent a bit more time on.

When, at last, Elijah was happy with his appearance, he headed back into his room and over to a wooden box. He slowly opened it, revealing the mask he intended to wear. He slowly lifted the mask and placed it over his eyes. He positioned it in the correct location and then tied it about his head. Elijah then took one final look at himself before slowly leaving his chambers.

Elijah made his way through the all too familiar halls. He could already hear the sounds of music and people talking. He passed quite a very beings though paid none of them any mind. When, at last, he entered the large room where the party was taking place. As a Archangel, Elijah held himself high and proudly. Even though his face was partially covered by the mask, he still felt as if he should act every bit the being he truly was. He could not afford any time spent doing anything else.

Once his feet touched the main floor, Elijah allowed himself to move across the floor. He slowly made his way towards the opposite side of the room, coming to stand away from most of the others. He saw no reason to mingle. This was all Godric's idea. He'd not cared for it though had not argued the point. He'd only agreed to show up..nothing more.

As he watched those around him dancing, drinking, and just enjoying themselves, Elijah couldn't help but find himself curious as to their actions. He'd never been one to enjoy such things, always preferring to be left alone to his thoughts. However, he had to admit..the party was quite wonderful. It seemed to him that nothing had been held back.

One of the Humans that were serving guests walked by him, offering a drink. He took one, thanking the young man. He brought the drink up to his lips, taking a shallow sip. Elijah was curious..curious to see if anything would go wrong at the event. It was certainly a possibility. He pushed the thought from his mind. He would need to see Godric at some point, making sure that the other Archangel knew that he had, in fact, come as promised. He sighed softly. That could wait until later though. He had all night, after all.

Jessamine Kingsley

Jessamine watched as one angel flew way up in the air. She felt sick just from watching and put the empty wine glass on a tray of a nearby servant. She thanked the man as she did so, not feeling comfortable enough to say anything more. She shook her head as she tried to clear the slight dizziness. She really shouldn't have that sort of difficulty, but of course, she did with the issue she has with flying. It was almost as if she were the opposite of an angel in the way she had her own abilities.

Jess was walking towards the arch where she had seen the man with the peacock mask only to walk through the one next to it. She needed to see inside, it was why she was there, not to think about where she stood in society. She had just walked into the grand room when she had heard someone close to her. She turned but there wasn't anyone there talking to her. She shook her head feeling slightly paranoid. She looked up as someone offered her a glass of champagne. She smiled her thanks as she took it though she didn't know whether she was going to drink it or not. She had already had a glass of wine and though she could stomach such drinks easily enough, she was somewhat nervous that she would loose her focus.

As Jess took a sip, she surveyed the area around her, nearly choking on the bubbly drink as she saw him. He had brown hair and pale eyes and she was mesmerized. She nearly dropped her glass as she stared at him openly, amazed at seeing him. Another, different servant plucked the glass from her hand as she held it out to the fellow, taking the hint easily.

Jessamine quickly made her way over, hating that she couldn't run in such a place at such a time. He was standing in an uncrowded part of the hall and as she watched him, she felt it was him more and more. As she was only a few feet away, she said his name. "Lucas," She said as she approached the figure that was standing sideways to her. As she got closer though she stopped. It wasn't him and her heart sank, fell really. She saw the wings, saw the slightly different facial features, saw that it wasn't him, and looked down and away.

She was too close for the man not to have heard her and notice her really. "I... I'm sorry... I confused you for someone I kne-. Know. Jessamine," Jessamine says as she regains her composure and smiles apologetically though inside she felt hurt, as if she was mad at the man for not being Lucas. She looked up at the man, curious as she watched him, wondering how he would react after she had just confused him for someone else. Would he take her as a stupid human or would he be nice in a way and just walk away? Maybe he would even find her worth the time to say something.

She had never imagined finding Lucas this easily, but was crushed anyway that she hadn't found him even if she hadn't been at the party for more than a half hour. She realized how thankful she was that she had gotten rid of the champagne as now she didn't have to worry about showing her hands slight shaking from the shock of the situation.

Elijah was content simply standing off by himself. If he had to be there, at least he could do something that brought him some form of..happiness. He liked watching all those that were mingling. He found them all..rather intriguing. How easily it seemed, at least to him and from his view, that the very different beings seemed to get along. However, he doubted it was that simple. A voice suddenly brought him out of his thoughts. "Lucas,"

He slowly turned his head, looking towards the being that had spoken. His eyes fell to what was most obviously a Human. The woman seemed to have mistaken him for someone else..someone that she knew. "I... I'm sorry... I confused you for someone I kne-. Know. Jessamine,"
Elijah remained silent for a long moment, simply regarding the masked woman. He could easily see that she was disappointed that he was not..Lucas. You've nothing to apologize for, Jessamine. It is all too easy to mistake someone's identity when attending a masquerade party. Is that not the point?"

He paused for a moment before continuing. "I am Elijah." He glanced around them, glad to see that they were still fairly alone. "This..Lucas that you are looking for, might I ask why you search for him?" He found that his curiosity was getting the better of him. Something that did not happen often. He allowed his gaze to rest upon Jessamine, waiting patiently for her to reply. As he watched her, Elijah took in as much as he could about her.

He could not say than many Humans ever truly captured his interest, however this one had..for some reason or another. He simply could not understand what would have drawn him in in such a way. This in itself caused him to want to continue speaking with her. After she'd answered him, Elijah continued. "Have you been to the Aerie before? I cannot say that you are familiar to me..I would have remembered our meeting."

The man allowed his gaze to venture from Jessamine at last, gazing back out upon the others. He was certain that she would leave him..he was actually surprised that she'd remained near him as long as she had. He was no fool. He knew that most Humans did not care for his kind. It made him only want to continue speaking with her. It was all very strange for him. "I, myself, spend nearly all of my time here. I do not venture often out into the world." Once again he was focusing on her. This was probably the most he'd spoken to someone in a long time that was not from the Aerie. It was..refreshing, to say the least.

Elijah took a sip of the drink he still had in his hand. He was normally not one for drinking. However, he'd decided that tonight was a good time to forgo his usual sobriety. Though, he doubted that he would drink very much. A young Human walked by, offering horderves of some kind. Elijah declined, not feeling the least bit hungry. He was glad to see that those that were working were doing their jobs as they should have been. It always made things run much smoother when they did not have to worry about such things. His light colored eyes held curiosity in them as he regarded Jessamine intently.

"You've nothing to apologize for, Jessamine. It is all too easy to mistake someone's identity when attending a masquerade party. Is that not the point?" The man asked as Jessamine looked up at him. How was it possible he looked so similar to Lucas? Jessamine smiles ruefully. "It depends on ones purpose," Jessamine says as she pushes a lock of hair behind her ear as she studies the man who was in reality an angel. Jessamine watched the man as he told her his name. If the wings hadn't given it away, the name had. She hadn't met the man before, didn't remember seeing him before either, but then again, she only could see half of his face and wasn't sure if she could identify him without the mask off.

"This..Lucas that you are looking for, might I ask why you search for him?" Elijah says as he looks around. Was he looking for someone? Jessamine looked down and away as she considered her answer before saying with a deep breath, "He was brought to the Aerie after a few years with humans. He was an angel," She says thankfully keeping resent from her tone. She didn't elaborate more, didn't know what to say a of it as he never had really explained it. She didn't show that she felt his gaze on her as she looked up at a waiter passing a bit. If she was to admit it, she found Elijah to be different, like he owned a quality other angles might not.

"Have you been to the Aerie before? I cannot say that you are familiar to me..I would have remembered our meeting." Jessamine smiled slightly as she watched Elijah. "Two or three times, only for short instances however. We haven't met before, I don't know many people so I would most definitely remember you," Jess says as she meets his eyes fully now. She was talking to an angel that may or may not actually hate her. His words were flattering yes, but jessamine herself was rather good at hiding things and tricking people. Was he a trickster himself and just toying with her? Was it all real?

"I, myself, spend nearly all of my time here. I do not venture often out into the world." Elijah says as if it wasn't as entertaining as most angels made it out to be. Jessamine tilted her head slightly as she turned to face Elijah all the way. "Is that so? Well, perhaps you'd want to venture out to see some parts that might be intriguing. A lot of the city nearby isn't the best, you must know where to go," Jessamine says with a smile as she looks out to the lighted town visible from a nearby archway. She leaned against a column as she looked up at Elijah. Why must she be shorter even in heels? She didn't ask about his wings as she was almost positive it was not a polite thing to do when talking.

A server passed offering what looked like something to eat, but Jessamine passed, still not quite feeling comfortable about being served by those that were like her. She looked down at the clutch wallet in her hand and fiddled with it for a moment. Why was he wasting time on her when he could easily go talk to to we angels. "I'm sorry, but I feel obligated to ask... Do you really wish to talk to me or are you only doing it because you had to come to the ball?" Jessamine asks as she looks up again, curious and wondering if he really was enjoying the talk she was even with the nerves. What was she doing fiddling around with an angel she didn't know? She had no clue, and wasn't really going to admit that she didn't really care at the moment.

"Is that so? Well, perhaps you'd want to venture out to see some parts that might be intriguing. A lot of the city nearby isn't the best, you must know where to go," Jessamine said. Elijah glanced down at her, thinking over her words for a moment. "Is that so? I suppose that if I had something intriguing, as you say, I would possibly venture out more often." He said at length. He fell silent again, simply concentrating on those about them. However, truly, his main focus was on the Human that stood near him. She was soon bringing him out of his thoughts. This was something that most found hard to do. "I'm sorry, but I feel obligated to ask... Do you really wish to talk to me or are you only doing it because you had to come to the ball?" At her question, Elijah turned so as to be able to see her better.

Had he been anyone else, he would possibly have laughed and smiled at her. However, he was Elijah and laughing or smiling was something that he very rarely did. "Please, no more apologizing. I am more than happy to answer your questions. I am not the kind of being that would simply stand around chatting with someone if I did not wish to. As a Archangel I have the luxury of being able to ignore those I choose. I must admit, there are not many that I find interesting." He paused for a moment, allowing his words to wash over the woman. "I would like to ask you a question, if I may?"

Elijah waited patiently for the Human to answer him. As he waited, he allowed his gaze to roam over the woman. He could not say that he often mingled with Humans. It was just the way it was. As he nearly ever left the Aerie, it made sense that he did not speak with Humans all too often. Elijah was the kind of person that was happy being alone more often than spending time with another being. Usually, he was forced to spend a bit of time with Godric but anyone else he tended to find reasons to get out of it.

"I was wondering why you are speaking with me. Most of your kind hates mine and try not to get near us unless they have to. And yet, here you are..standing with me and carrying a conversation. Like I said a moment ago..quite interesting in my opinion." He allowed a ghost of a smile to cross his features. He was interested to hear her reasoning. He was certain that he would find it every bit as interesting as he'd found their conversation thus far.

He took a final sip of his drink and passed it off as another waiter passed by. The Human tried offering him another though he refused. He did not think that he needed anymore. After Jessamine had answered him, Elijah continued. "I am most glad that our paths have crossed. It has been a very long time since I've found my attention held in such a way. Tell me, truly, what you think of is happening between our kinds."

Jessamine smiled at his words. Perhaps she could get him to come to the city someday. When she waited for her answer, she felt somewhat selfconsious all of a sudden as he turned to face her. Jessamine, who never felt selfconsious couldn't help but wonder what was happening? Was it all just becasue she thought he looked like Lucas? It wasn't that she thought it, it was entirely true as he could possibly be a twin though she wasn't certain. Lucas had been away and might have grown up to look different, but it was still strange. "Please, no more apologizing. I am more than happy to answer your questions. I am not the kind of being that would simply stand around chatting with someone if I did not wish to. As a Archangel I have the luxury of being able to ignore those I choose. I must admit, there are not many that I find interesting. I would like to ask you a question, if I may?" Elijah said and Jessamine smiled slightly. She was having a grand time at this point.

"I suppose it is fair," Jessamine says as she looks down slightly before looking back up, suddeny unsure where to look as her eye caught his wings in sight. She looked back to his eyes, remembering why she was there and wondering if it was okay to be doing what she was doing. Elijah was so patient it seemed, as if he could talk with a child all day. His gaze wasn't really concealed as he eyed her which wasn't something she was unused to though it seemed somewhat different coming from an angel, or archangel as Elijah put it.

"I was wondering why you are speaking with me. Most of your kind hates mine and try not to get near us unless they have to. And yet, here you are..standing with me and carrying a conversation. Like I said a moment ago..quite interesting in my opinion." Elijah asks making Jessamine raising her eyebrows. She had not expected that though she probably should have. She smiled that time, as she looked out at the party for a brief moment, mulling over the answer, then looked back up at Elijah. "Well, like I said, one of my closest friends was an angel. I do hate your kind, though I wouldn't have put it that way, but only those who kill, those who play with humans as if they are toys, and those who treat humans as things lesser than the dirt they walk on. Angels and archangels have made my life difficult yes, but still, I can't bring myself to hate all of them as humans can be the same way, though we don't see them as much," Jessamine says as she accepts a glass of champagne. She wondered how much more she could drink before she started to feel the effects though she felt fine still.

"Why I am talking with you is a different matter though. It is something new to me as well as usually I avoid angels as we have entirely different personalities and likes. You on the other hand, I'll be blunt, you're different it seems. I don't take you as the one to murder humans in cold blood and you've put up with me well enough... You're what I would like most angels to be like, open to new things as it appears you are, like me," Jessamine says as she takes a small sip of the glass. She had thanked the waiter, made sure to make eye contact to relay the message of thanks for his service though she was sure not many other people there would do that.

"I am most glad that our paths have crossed. It has been a very long time since I've found my attention held in such a way. Tell me, truly, what you think of is happening between our kinds." Jessamine considered his words as she fingered the stem of the glass, watching the bubbly liquid. "Well, to start, I think that something big is coming in the future. I don't know what it could possibly be, but different groups are forming on both sides and I think things are getting more dangerous everywhere. I lock my doors at night where I live for fear of someone coming whether it be angel or human, because in this new world, nobody seems safe as they are all in danger from each other. The different kinds of people in the world are changing Elijah, it may result in a better world at the end, but after all that's happened so far, nothing is for sure anymore," Jessamine says as she sadly looks down into the glass, holding the clutch wallet to her thigh as she didn't really want to hold it much more and was greatly considering dumping it somewhere considering it wasn't necessarily hers.

She shrugged her shoulders as she took a deep, slightly shaky breath. "I hope one day that we can live without prisoners, killing, and secrets, but I'm just not quite sure. That's the most honest I've been in a while and it is rather strange. Now, I've told you of my thoughts, care to share yours with me? And please, call me Jess, nobody really knows me by Jessamine as I think it's too long," Jessamine says as she stares disinterested at the champagne glass for only a moment longer, then looks up to meet Elijah's gaze. She allowed herself a moment to study him, taking in the height, the hair, his wings, eyes, and the way he carries himself as she watched for something, she wasn't sure what, but something of some sort.

Why was she talking to him? She was gathering intell. That's what she would say when asked the next day, but she wouldn't say much more than she had to and she wouldn't say less than she had to. She would say what she needed to say and what they needed to know and that was that. They didn't need to know more and she didn't need to say more like she usually believed and carried out.

Elijah continued regarding the Human woman. He knew that he probably shouldn't continue speaking with her, however..truly, was this not the reason Godric had wanted to hold the party? Though, he could not shake the feeling that he shouldn't be speaking with the woman. The different kinds of people in the world are changing Elijah, it may result in a better world at the end, but after all that's happened so far, nothing is for sure anymore,"

He allowed her words to flow over him. He had to admit that it was not often that someone spoke so openly about what was going on around them. It was refreshing. He had to force himself not to point out to her that locking her door at night would not save her if someone truly wished to harm her. He thought it best to allow her the small comfort. For now at least. "I hope one day that we can live without prisoners, killing, and secrets, but I'm just not quite sure. That's the most honest I've been in a while and it is rather strange. Now, I've told you of my thoughts, care to share yours with me? And please, call me Jess, nobody really knows me by Jessamine as I think it's too long,"

Elijah tilted his head slightly as the woman fell silent. Her gaze soon found his and the Archangel debated with himself for a long moment on what he wished to say to her. "I believe your full name to be lovely. Please, do not hold it against me if I forget and call you by it." He paused for a moment as a few beings passed by them. He was nearly certain that one of them had given him a look. However, he paid it no mind. "I would not align myself on one particular side. It would do no good to allow myself to begin showing favoritism to either. However, even I must admit that the fighting is beginning to make me grow weary."

He normally didn't admit such things to anyone. However, he felt as if the woman would not say anything. "You should be careful with the beings you speak with. As you pointed out, the world has become quite dangerous. It would be a much duller place should anything happen to you." He fell silent, finally pulling his gaze from Jessamine. He looked out amongst those that were dancing. Though he often enjoyed watched others swirl about the floor, he rarely danced. Not that he didn't know how..he just merely didn't like having to carry a conversation with someone that he did not wish to. Elijah suddenly turned his gaze back to his companion. "Where are my manners? Would you care to dance? This song is most lovely. It has been far too long since I last danced. Of course, if you would rather remain standing here..that is perfectly fine as well."

Jessamine watched for a reaction, her eyes twinkling slightly from her curiosity and interest at what Elijah had to say or thought. He didn't seem bored or uninterested and seemed to be taking her words seriously unlike most of the members of the resistance did. They all thought she was a stupid girl who did what she wanted and did what she was told though that was less often seen.

He tilted his head and Jessamine smiled slightly as she unconsciously did the same only less as she kept herself from showing it a lot. "I believe your full name to be lovely. Please, do not hold it against me if I forget and call you by it. I would not align myself on one particular side. It would do no good to allow myself to begin showing favoritism to either. However, even I must admit that the fighting is beginning to make me grow weary." Jessamine looked down as he talked of her name. She was blushing and the flush of color made her uncomfortable and nervous at the same time, as if she couldn't believe someone would say something nice to her after all this time. She felt a small thrill in her at the thought that someone else besides her didn't think the long name was extremely weird though she did believe it was somewhat long. She shook her head as if she wasn't going to hold it against him whatsoever. She ignored the glances given to the two of them, a human and an archangel interacting without any violence, appearing as friends even. It was somewhat strange. She just nodded tiredly at what he said. War, which was what they were at, made everyone tired and never came out with a true winner, both lost, both suffered, yet one appeared victorious in one way or another.

"You should be careful with the beings you speak with. As you pointed out, the world has become quite dangerous. It would be a much duller place should anything happen to you." Only then did he look away and Jessamine smiled slightly, thoughtful as to why he seemed so interested. She followed his gaze and smiled realistic at the people dancing. She wasn't one for it really as she never had time and never had anyone to dance with. She smiled as she recognized a song that she used to listen to growing up, something that would allow her to sway to it alongside her mother and father. She thought his words over. If only he knew whom he was talking to. Sure she didn't have a weapon and sure she had no desire whatsoever to attack anyone, but she was a member of the resistance. She wondered how many of her associates would kill the archangel before her without hesitation, would kill him and not care about him in any way whatsoever. Then she herself wondered, what would she do if she was told to face him? She shook the thought from her head without movement as she listened to his words.

"Where are my manners? Would you care to dance? This song is most lovely. It has been far too long since I last danced. Of course, if you would rather remain standing here..that is perfectly fine as well." Elijah said being a perfect gentleman. Jessamine considered, passing her now empty glass to a passing waiter and thanking him before turning to face Elijah all the way.

"That sounds like a wonderful idea, I can't stand in one place for a long time," She says as she offers her hand. When they were on the dance floor, she positioned one hand on his shoulder and the other in his hand, the one she had offered. She swayed slightly to the music, thankful that she was able to relax slightly even though she was dancing with someone she just met. She didn't know anything about him, in fact, she felt somewhat stiff as she moved.

It worried her that she could very well be dancing with the person who killed her loved ones, took her best friend, ruined her life. She thought about it as they moved, wondering what else she could possibly think of when she was with him until she knew for sure he hadn't done it. "Elijah, I... I'm sorry to ask but I really need to know... If we had met on the street, if you had met any human on the street, if we hadn't met like this, do you think it would have all ended the same way as it is now? Would we be dancing now? Or would there be... a worse ending?" She asks quietly so those around didn't hear, now knowing that this could tell her a lot about him. She wondered what he would say, whether she would be dancing with him in the next minute or so. "I'm sorry, I really am, but I really need to know," She whispers, not quite meeting his eyes as she looked at those around them, not wanting to see the hurt that might go into the eyes that she thinks she remembers so well. She didn't want to hurt him, she really didn't, but how could she know when they haven't learned anything quite yet about the other's past.
