Description

Name:
Aeriwyna Nariah Sancra

Meaning:
Friend of the Sea / Sacrificial Offering / Helper of Mankind

Nickname:
Arie

Age: 16

Ability to swim very well, to breathe underwater and has a much higher tolerance for water pressure. Can create a bubble of air from the air in the water, and control water with a mile radius of herself (including conjuring storms, given there’s enough water in the air).

Personality

Personality:

Aeriwyna is generally an optimistic and laid back person, but if she feels very strongly about something however she will fight for it ferociously, but this type of determination is rare. She’s a comfortable person to be around, making it easy for her to make friends. She’s easy to talk to and open minded, preferring not to judge a person until she has seen all sides of them. Aeriwyna is very kind and gentle, and she believes that everything can be beautiful. She is the perfect person to go to with your problems as her advice is good and her words are soothing. Sometimes she is known to be distant and a daydreamer, making her unfocused and forgetful. When sad she has a tendency to cry.

Aeriwyna has two main emotional states, her first being neutral (when she is generally pleasant, distant and happy) and her second being furious. When enraged she will stop at nothing to put the object of her fury to death or at least in a state of shock so as it will never make the same mistake again. It takes a lot to bring on this wrath, but it can be done under extreme circumstances. Small warning signs (like restrain in her voice, twitching and a sudden violent storm appearing) can give you hints as to when she’s becoming infuriated.

Motto: “Have you ever noticed how a water droplet shimmers when it catches the sunlight just right? It gleams just to prove that the simplest things can be beautiful.”

History

History:

Aeriwyna once had an adoring family of five, her parents and two younger siblings. Her younger siblings were twins, a sister and brother and she loved them dearly. Aeriwyna had just graduated her sophomore year of high school and was almost 17 when her parents and siblings decided to surprise her with a gift. It was a ticket to visit West Virgina, the place which housed the college she had been thinking of going to after high school. Aeriwyna thanked her family profusely before packing her things and flying out. She had been there only three days when the earth seemed to revolt against humanity. Aeriwyna was very fortunate to have escaped mostly unharmed to an oasis-like area which seemed to be safe.

It was during this time Mother Nature spoke to Aeriwyna. She knew it was her for the living room she sat in was inside a large tree trunk, and a live mink was draped comfortably around her shoulders. The old woman, ina green dress, said "You have been chosen. You will fight against force more powerful than any you can imagine. And some of you shall die. However I have used all of my remaining power to make sure that your race survives and the seven of you will be my champions. Now go forth, and kill my husband. Kill Earth." When she awoke, Aeriwyna found that the water from the waterfall of the oasis had soaked her as she slept, but no matter how hard she tried she could not dry off. This was when she discovered she had been gifted with the power over water.

Training herself, Aeriwyna tried her hardest to learn more about her unusual abilities and teach herself how to use them. Still she was frightened at the prospect of fighting Earth, but she knew that there would be others she would turn to in the quest. Others who had powers like her. And she knows she must traverse to Earth, who is out for her blood, in order to find the others and go fight the ultimate battle with them.

Other:

Aeriwyna does not know the fate of her family and is very worried for them. She knows they are dead, but still clings to that small hope they are somewhere, safe and sound. This makes her very empathetic to those people who have lost loved ones, and she’ll cry openly with them.

Aeriwyna is fully aware that her death is necessary to the downfall of Earth, as the Earth needs water to be anything more than barren rock. But she keeps this devastating secret to herself and tries very hard not to get too close to anyone, though her personality draws in people naturally. The most painful fact Aeriwyna has forced herself to acknowledge is that there will be no magic in the water when she has passed on, so she won’t be able to banish her friend’s tears.

To help her friends get over the pain to come and to go on strong, she spoke with Mother Nature and asked her a small request. When she died, her friends who would continue on to kill Earth would hear Aeriwyna’s voice would speak in their heads this final goodbye:

When I am gone, release me, let me go.
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears;
Be happy that we had so many years.
Banish water from your eye,
It’s mine no more, goodbye.

You have my love and can only but guess
How much you gave me happiness.
I thank you for the love you all have shown,
But now it's time I travelled on alone.
This new journey I take will be lacking you,
For now without me you know what you must do.

Grieve for me a moment, if grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by purest trust.
For it's only for a while that we must by apart,
So bless our memories within your heart.
Continue on stronger than ever,
For if I’m in your heart I will die never.

I won't be far away, for life goes on;
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near
And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear
All of my love around you, soft and clear.
Like a mirage of raindrops or a single tear.
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the gentle autumn rain,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush,
Or feel the waves on your feet in a rush,
Know I am the birds in circled flight,
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
I am the ocean waves at your feet.
So do not stand at my grave and cry.
If you are victorious, I did not die.

Then after it all, when the fight is long past,
When all of humanity is freed at long last,
And when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and say “Welcome Home.”

In addition, everytime afterwards (once Mother Nature took over again) she would make it so that everytime her companions went outside in the rain or a lake or steam or the like and spoke her name outloud, her final goodbye would repeat once in their heads. They could do this as many times as they please, but they would be the only ones able to hear it. This way her memory would keep magic in the water, even after the water elemental's death.
