§ . e y e s . russet brown; narrow and sharp almond shape, monolid
§ . h a i r . dark brown
§ . h e i g h t . 6'3"
§ . w e i g h t . 197 lbs.
§ . p h y s i q u e . tall, lean musculature, athletic
§ . d e s c r i p t i o n . Brandon's most striking features are his eyes. They crease sharply in the corners with his every expression, and they are monolid in structure. Coupled with his sharp facial features, his eyes give him a more charismatic appeal even if he's not so friendly all of the time. Otherwise, he considers himself quite average. In terms of musculature and build, he's always been a natural athlete with a dedication to physique and performance. While his job may not appear as dangerous as it really was, he spent some time in a different FBI unit that required more of a physical presence. The CBI profilers still come face-to-face with criminals, so it felt natural to keep up his routine.
His attire is business casual all of the time. He prefers a pair of blue jeans with a button-up shirt and some decent shoes. He's not big on lax clothing as he is more used to the style that many of the men in his home country don. For Brandon, appearance is everything. People will judge you for it. People will respect or not respect you for it. Those are just a few of the lessons various figures in his childhood taught him about the importance of dressing. If you're lucky, you might catch him in some gym clothes, but that's it. He doesn't wear anything fancy, but he also doesn't look like a slob.

§ . Baek-hyun is intelligent, studious, and devoted. Perhaps.... too devoted, as some of his peers might imply. He's shown an almost zealous interest in serial killers and has spent copious amounts of time reading and researching every facet of their existence and work. His specialty within forensic psychology is geography. He's always asked the questions.... why here? Why there? What's so special about a place to a monster? He's single because he has a hard time compartmentalizing work from his personal life, and no one appreciates blood and gore on a first date. Their loss.
He's very easy to work with. No one ever said one couldn't stare into the abyss and smile all at once. He has a pretty easy smile, and the way it creases his monolid eyes can make him especially charismatic. He's one of those guys that the women fawn over until he opens his mouth and they realize that, on a scale of one to ten, he's a twenty in the creep realm. As a proud workaholic, he doesn't have time for a dating life anyway. When he's not at work he's giving lectures at various colleges and universities to graduate students studying various topics in criminal psychology. He's a very busy guy. He likes his life that way. A boring day never sat well with him, and he'd rather be hunting than staying at home watching Netflix with a babe in his arms.
The one thing that his peers will definitely say about him is that they worry about how deep he can delve into the monstrous mind of a criminal. The head of the CBI's profiling unit has requested that he attend therapy once a week, and he obliges. So far, there are no further concerns about his mental state. At least he hasn't given the psychologist a reason. Then again... he is a profiler, so maybe he just knows how to evade someone profiling him.

§ . Brandon specializes in Forensic Geography and how it relates to criminal psychology and victimology. He is intellectually gifted in geography and making special connections that others may miss. Patterns seem to come easy to him. It helps that geography and history are two areas that he excelled at as a child. He really enjoys maps, navigation, and everything that has to do with people and places and culture - no matter what the merits or flaws of the cultures were. He believes that the "where" is just as important as everything else.
Because of mandatory military service in South Korea, he joined the Marine Corps at 19 for the mandatory 18 months. He is an expert marksman and an excellent physical combatant. Close quarters fighting is his preference if it really has to come down to that. After his military service, he continued to take care of his physical health to protect himself and his peers from attacks. Martial Arts was a sport he did from childhood and continues to this day, and it had been reinforced in the South Korean military. He knows that this job is more paperwork than fieldwork, but he's aware that there are a lot of dangers that they face as law enforcement entities. While they are not "police", they are still responsible for putting perpetrators behind bars.
He is meticulous and precise with his every action. He is highly aware of his surroundings at all times, but he can sometimes lack awareness of someone's body gestures and the subtle nuances of social cues. It's not that there's anything wrong with his ability to grasp these things, it's simply that he lacks a lot of interaction with people in general. His knowledge of people comes from the theories and research from his many years of study and teaching. Like most theories, not all people follow them.

Maybe that's why all of the kids thought he was weird.
He went into college after spending two years in the South Korean military, as was mandated by law, and began down the same career path as the rest of his family, He diverged a little into prosecution rather than defense. He wanted to catch criminals, as he was always more of a hunter-type personality with justice as a noble end goal. It was exciting for a few years, but even that began to bore him to death. Something in his life was missing, and this path was not providing him with enough to keep him going.
However, Baek-hyun had an itch that could never be scratched in Seoul. He wanted more. When he was not working to catch criminals and bring them to justice, he was studying serial killers and forensic psychology behind his family's back. They wanted him to get married, settle down, give them grandchildren, but he didn't want any of that. He just wanted to leave the oppressive life of South Korea and become his own person. He was a prosecuting attorney until he was 26, which hadn't been a very long career at all. Ignoring the protest of his family, he applied to an elite University in the United States of America, packed up his things, and move out of the country. There were more opportunities there for him, and more of what he liked. He chose the name Brandon, as it seemed to match close enough to his Korean name.
Due to his Military background and college education, Brandon was able to slip into the Los Angeles Police Department while also attending a University to get his Doctorates in Forensic Psychology with a minor in Forensic Geography. Without a relationship or friends to fill his social life, he climbed the ranks of the Police Force and eventually landed himself on the ever-exciting SWAT team. He did this for several years, and by the time he went through FBI training and was accepted in the California Bureau of Investigations, he was 31 years old.
That's where he's been for the last six or seven years - he can't remember. He doesn't do much with his life, as a lot of his work is office-oriented. When he's not working on a case, he's working at various colleges and Universities as an Adjunct Professor.
