      character
Ilium looks like someone who's been wrung dry and drained of color. He lives his life as silently as a ghost, rarely speaks unless he is spoken to and always uses a tone that is polite but distant. Ilium radiates a sense of quiet, but the unnerving silence that comes with the aftermath of decay. Delicate and pale, his gaunt cheekbones and sunken eyes remind one of a skull. Shadows don't need voices, he reasons. And a faint shadow is all he sees when he looks into the mirror. He doesn't quite know how he feels when he considers his life, but it isn't disappointment. To be disappointed, you needed to have expectations in the first place.

And ilium is sorely lacking in that aspect. No expectations, no motivations. Simply step after step on a path planned out for him, and actor acting out an empty play with no passion but grudging understanding that he will never be more than that. The second Son, whose blood is not as pure but with less personality to make up for it. A weak personality like a blank piece of paper, Ilium quietly resigned his fate the moment his slender fingers dew out the star tarot only a year after Troy's disappointment. For with the praises, so came the heavy expectations on him.

Ilium wanted to be a scientist and philosopher when he was younger, but who was he to deny his parents' expectations of someone who will hold power and authority. It was all for his own good, or so they claimed. Surely a god given fate such as his will be wasted on such a drull career. Ilium could only bow his head in agreement. Perhaps being overlooked for most of his childhood led to a part that yearned to feel validated, but he did not get even that. Constantly being compared to Troy for his achievements, his existence was still watered down, just like his blood. Before he realised it, putting himself down became a habit that he practices constantly in his subconscious. He never trusted himself to make any decisions on his own because he never believed he was good enough to do it, because he couldn't decide his own fate. Only his parents knew best, only that. Ilium feels his soul sink in despair when he thinks of the future that was waiting for a puppet like him, but lately even that has become a dull ache he learned to ignore.

A part of him resents Troy for leaving, himself a stained glass variation to take his place. Yet he knows that he would never be brave enough to even try rebuke any of his family's wishes. His lack of faith in himself and others gives him a pessimistic worldview, something he has found useful to avoid future disappointment. Currently, Ilium is simply smoke and mirrors, a front of false smiles and well woven lies, while he tries to become someone he could never be and ends up losing himself in the process.

      unique magic
Ilium's magic is called Friday the 13th for its ability to bring misfortune unto others. Coming in the form of runes, anything Ilium attaches them to will fail their purpose. For example, a spoon will slip before it reaches your mouth and a gun will misfire. If he attaches it to someone, they will always fail in whatever they want to do, but it takes a toll on his mana supply to maintain a hold onto them for too Long. Ilium prefers to manipulate smaller objects pertaining to his victim, as the constant failure coupled with his expertise in illusions bring about a dire lack of confidence in his target that he can manipulate to his liking.

So begins...
