Lucifer looked down as Noelle sat next to him; he towered above her sitting form, standing what seemed infinitely taller than her. No less so than expected - after all, he'd been created as humanity guardian, and their executioner. Looming above their shoulder, protecting them when necessary, only to reach around and cut their throat when their time was up.
"I've got the Legions of Hell at my beck and call, Noelle," Lucifer stated. "If worst comes to worst, I can summon armies of thousands. But I'd rather not do that - to do so would drag mankind into a war that wasn't theirs to begin with, and would risk total destruction of my goals before my plans are ready."
"Nonetheless," Lucifer sighed, "There are... ways. If I can persuade the denizens of Hell that I'm spending so much time around you for a separate reason, then it's likely that we can delay Heaven's discovery of you for some time - long enough, perhaps, for us to find a more long-term solution for your concealment."
