Description

Image
Name: Rebeccah Adrienne O'Connor
Nickname: Beccah
Age: Sixteen years old
Role: The Daughter of the Leader
Appearance: [See picture.]
Personality: Rebeccah is proud of her family and its importance in the underworld of New York. She can be quite unpredictable and has a tendency to act without thinking, as she is a little over-confident in herself. Intelligent, sophisticated, fearless and independent are good words to describe her, mischievous being another. This means while she is smart enough to analyse a situation, she tends to enjoy taking the risk to get in the situation in the first place. She hates to rely on others, especially her older brother, but will if she's in deep enough trouble; which she often finds herself in.

Usually very thoughtful, sincere and polite when speaking with others, she is not above lying for her own personal gain.

Rebeccah made no sound as she picked up the phone, pressed a few numbers and, only after watching the phone's light brighten before turning black, passed it to Jake. " Here, there's nothing on it now." She motioned to the window, not even bothering to look over at him. " You might as well toss it out the window," Beccah stated, finally turning her stormy eyes on to the male.

" Can we listen to some music, please?" She made sure to be polite in asking, not that it was very difficult for her.. But it was out of character for her to treat Jake with even a semblance of respect. When she didn't receive a response right away Rebeccah sighed and glanced out the wind shield. " Or we don't have to," she added, retracting her question as she watched the lights around them.

" I wonder if everyone's okay.." The teen whispered, thinking of the angry glare she had received from her brother and the lack of even that much from either of her parents. Then she fell silent, already knowing how badly Jake thought of her. Spoiled little brat, a princess who got everything she wanted and more; she could only imagine the others.

Rebeccah nodded her understanding as Jake opened her door, speaking quickly to her in a hushed tone. " Yes Jake," She murmured as she got out of the car and started to walk toward the building. She walked quickly and kept her eyes ahead, feeling creeped out by the area they were in but she was actually terrified of the Corleon family finding them.

She didn't want to die.

She made sure to walk quickly, fighting her instincts that told her to look around herself, trying to trust Jake like her father had told her to. Rebeccah gave a small smile and a polite, " Thank you," as she entered through the door her bodyguard held open for her. Her eyes darted to the stairs which she practically sprinted up, feeling she had set a new record as she counted the six doors to herself. The younger teenager turned to look at Jake, her face absolutely white.

" You have a key, right?" Rebeccah didn't bother to try the door, not while knowing about all the traps her family was so skilled at setting.

" Good," she said with a low sigh of relief, releasing a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. Her eyebrows raised as she saw how careful Jake was about opening the door and stepping inside, the question she never even asked was answered quickly. " Of course it is," Rebeccah sighed, " Everything in my family is designed to maim or kill anyone who tries to do anything.." She held onto Jake's hand as she lightly jumped over said dangerous mat.

" I mean, seriously, 'Welcome home! BANG!'" She rolled her grey-blue eyes as she threw her hands up in the air, accentuating the 'bang'. Rebeccah glanced around as she walked in, ignoring her shoelaces that she almost tripped on. Again. " Who lives here?" She asked as she turned to look at Jake, " Or does no one and it's just a hiding place..?"

" Not quite," the brunette muttered as she kicked off her shoes and plunked herself down sideways on a chair, her back against and arm and her legs extending over the other. She kept her cool blue eyes on Jake, her eyebrow raising as he laughed. " Why not?" Rebeccah asked, clearly curious now. " Why don't I want to know?"

She tilted her head as her lips formed a pout, not entirely sure if it would work. " Tell me, please?" Beccah kept her tone sweet and playful, never moving her eyes away from the older male. " Please, please, please?" She practically begged the O'Hara.

Rebeccah was starting to get tired and grew annoyed with her own behaviour, quickly discarding her horrible idea. " Is there somewhere I can sleep?" She asked as a large yawn broke free, which she covered with her hand politely.

She found her thoughts wandering and she was curious as to how her family was doing? If they were safe or not? Where they were staying... the list of questions flew through her mind, one after the other, as she lay her head against the back of the chair and closed her eyes with a sigh.

If Jake answered her question, Rebeccah hadn't heard as she felt herself begin to doze. Sounds were no longer clear to her and she could feel her eyes stinging. That's right, she'd been awake since before five this morning cramming for her exam; Rebeccah was clearly exhausted now, especially after the day she'd had. And she could only wonder what else would come her way.

She woke up a little later with a start, shooting up into a sitting position as her eyes darted around the unfamiliar room. Where was she? Rebeccah's eyes narrowed as the events of the early evening rushed into her mind all at once. " Damn it!" She swore as she leapt off the bed and stepped across the room to the door, turning the knob and opening it quietly. Thank whomever made sure the place was in working condition, she thought as the door made no sound and she silently made her way to the living room where she saw Jake sleeping on the couch. Rebeccah couldn't help the string of curses that she let out under her breath as she saw him, he was facing the door and she was sure he had his gun with him. One small, out of place noise and she'd be shot without a second glance.

And to think, all she wanted was to get out of the claustrophobically tiny apartment. Then an idea came into her thought but she wasn't sure if it would work and she retraced her steps, closing the bedroom door behind her and locking it, to look out the bedroom window. Outside were standard fire escape stairs, the teenager noted as she eyed the window for traps. There was no way she wanted to be killed by trying to open a stupid window just to stand outside.

Jake shot up, something wasn't right. Rushing to the room he had put Rebeccah he sees her trying to open the window. "What the hell are you doing? You're going to get yourself killed." He grabs her hand and pulls her away from the window. " do you know nothing about keeping yourself safe?" he was amazed by how stupid this girl could be.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fi looked over at Blare, he was calling his son, Carl. " do you think he's ok?" she asks quietly. She didn't know what it was like to be a parent, but she knew what it was like to be an older sister and being a parent must be kind if similar.

She'd barely managed to slide the window up, since it kept getting stuck, when Jake burst through the door. Rebeccah turned around immediately, eyes wide with shock, only to have him grab her hand and pull her away from the now open window. " You'd think that would be obvious," she retorted as she gestured at the small square of hope behind her. " I was opening a bloody window..." As she said this, her long brown hair was suddenly blowing as the wind decided to make its appearance and have its own say on what was going on.

Beccah ignored her hair and added quickly, " And you would have shot me if I went out the front door." She motioned to herself with a sweep of her arm, " Claustrophobic here."

She stared at him with icy eyes, her gaze colder than the breeze. " And yes, I do actually, but you won't let me prove that!" With that said, Rebeccah wrenched her hand from his grasp and stormed past him, no destination in particular. She wouldn't be able to avoid him for long in this tiny apartment anyway which she found ironic since, only a few hours ago, she was actually being nice and starting to not mind the man. All that went out the window, literally, when he decided to freak on her. Again.

Rubbing his face with his hands Jake sighs, then h fallows Rebeccah out of the room. Finding her he says " look, I'm sorry I was going to give you the rundown on what not to do in a situation like this but you fell asleep." then he looks the door. " I'm sorry but you can't leave here. We have to stay in here until your father calls, and standing by windows is just begging to get shot by anyone watching the house. So please stay away from the windows." he sits down on the couch again.

Rebeccah sat in the chair she had been in earlier, her feet up and her knees tucked under her chin, as she made a point of not looking at the bodyguard. She was absolutely furious; with her father for leaving her in Jake's care and not calling and with Jake for obeying Liam without question. There were more people but these two were the most prominent in her mind, the ones she really wanted to give a piece of her mind. But she wouldn't, especially to her father, for obvious reasons.

" Sorry, I fell asleep," she muttered caustically. " I tend to do that when I have exams that are followed by bad news and a shoot-out at my own house." She turned her cold eyes to the blond, " And I'm stuck with someone who I don't agree with which my father knew when he arranged this stupid 'bodyguard' thing. He should have just sent me to Ireland, I'd be happier there." This last was complete lie and Rebeccah hoped he wouldn't call her out on it. He'd have thought of his own reasons why but she certainly would have hated being so far from her family and friends. That was it.

She sighed as she turned her own gaze to the door, trying to calculate some sort of plan in her head. " So I can't go outside, can't get fresh air, can't even let people know I'm okay." Rebeccah now bit her lip hard enough to draw a steady stream of blood from the wound, which she swallowed with distaste. " Great.."

Making a desioton that could very well get himself killed Jake pulls out his own phone. " this is the O'hara line. It's safe enough for you to make one call." he hands it to his protectee " make it count." he says before walking to each window closing the curtains. He could kind of understand what Rebeccah was going through, that didn't giver her the right to be as rude as she was but he kind of got why she was so upset.

Rebeccah stared at Jake, doubt crossing her features as she felt the small mobile be slipped into her hand. Wouldn't he get in trouble for this? And who was she supposed to call? Her father had specifically said he would be the one to call, no one else. The teenager turned her gaze to the screen as she looked through the contacts, not sure if Blare was in there or not. If not, Fiona would be since she was Jake's sister and who would be with her brother? Fiona, of course.

She knew her brother wasn't so good at actually answering his phone so, instead of dialling his number, she settled for Fiona. With the click of a button, Rebecah lifted the phone to her ear and listened. One ring. Two rings. Three..

Pick up, pick up..

Her lips moved as she thought this but no actual words came out. Cool blue eyes stared at the closed curtains with annoyance as she heard the light click that told her someone had, in fact, picked up after all. She didn't wait for them to speak first.

" It's me," Rebeccah didn't bother to say her name, she was the youngest female in her family so it'd be quite obvious who she was. " Is Blare okay?" At this point her eyes flickered to Jake before returning to the curtain, her eyes calm for once.

When she was almost asleep Fi hears her phone ring. " this better be important." she says getting off the the couch and grabbing her phone. Before she could say anything she hears " It's me," it was Rebeccah, Fi rolled her eyes. She wasn't a huge fan of the princess but her heart melted slightly when she hears " Is Blare okay?".

"yeah, he's fine, just a few bumps and bruises." she smiles slightly, knowing how worried the girl must be. " what about my little brother is he alright?" she asks her worry creeping in to her voice.

Letting out a relieved sigh at Fiona's words, Rebeccah allowed herself a small smile. Good, he wasn't hurt too bad then. She'd been worried when the bullets had been going everywhere and, especially with her brothers track record, terrified he'd end up with several more bullet holes in his body. Which he definitely didn't need any more of.

" Jake's fine and, as far as I can tell, no damage whatsoever." She glanced to the male as she said this, raising her eyebrows as though she was waiting for him to argue that point. " He's taking his job quite seriously too," she added, rolling her eyes. That'd make Fiona glad as it would tell her that Jake was being extremely careful about everything. " Anyway, I have to go. Jake only allowed me one call," Rebeccah paused for a moment, her eyes thoughtful. " Would you like to speak with him?"

" Jake's fine and, as far as I can tell, no damage whatsoever." Fi let out a sigh of relief hearing that her baby brother was ok. She laughed when she heard " He's taking his job quite seriously too," Fi wasn't surprised, her brother was a little broody that way. " Anyway, I have to go. Jake only allowed me one call," Rebeccah paused for a moment, then asked. " Would you like to speak with him?"

"No that's alright, just tell him to lay off the brooding for me. It doesnt suit him." Fi says smiling slightly.

" Alright," Rebeccah responded quietly, " And thank you Fiona, for the shoes too." With that said, she disconnected the call and, after making sure Jake was prepared for it, she tossed his cellphone back to him. " Thanks O'Hara," she murmured before adding, slightly louder. " Your sister said to tell you; lay off the brooding, it doesn't suit you."

" Anyway, now that I feel a little assured about that, I'm going to have a shower." She stood and stretched, feeling her stiff muscle protest. " Towels would be in the bathroom, I assume?" Rebeccah looked to Jake as she asked this, her eyes showing how much she just wanted her space.

" Sweet," the brunette muttered as she swiftly walked down the hall and into the bathroom, the door closing a little louder than was necessary behind her. She hadn't meant to do that, she thought in surprise but she shook this off as she pulled a large fluffy white towel from the closet. Rebeccah hung it up as she started the water, waiting until it was a good temperature before pulling the thing that made the water come out the shower head.

---skip---

She felt refreshed as she stepped from the tub and grabbed her towel, rubbing the water from her eyes before wrapping the fluffy material around her and securing it by tucking a corner under the little makeshift dress she had going on. Rebeccah sighed as she wrung out her long brown hair over the tub, it always seemed to soak and retain the water, before grabbing another smaller towel to dry off her hair a bit. She hung this up to dry as she picked up her clothes and left the room.

" Shower's free," Beccah called to Jake, swiftly stepping into the bedroom to close the door behind her. She wondered if there was any clothes in that mahogany dresser and quickly went to look. Pulling open the top drawer caused Beccah to have to hold in a laugh. It was full of underwear and bra's but that wasn't the humorous part; it was the lingerie her pale eyes had seen that caused her small outburst. Closing that with another light giggle, she opened the next and found dozens of shirts and, in the drawer below that, jeans. Some were feminine but most were for a man, that much she could tell. Something seeming odd to her, Rebeccah walked over to the tiny closet and peeked inside, seeing skirts and a few extremely revealing dresses inside. Shoes lined the bottom of the closet, mostly heels, and took up every inch of space on the floor. She bent down to get a look at the sizes, most were either a size 6 or 7 which meant Rebeccah would most definitely be able to wear them.

" So, whomever stayed here last liked his toys dressed up.." The teenager muttered under her breath, hardly surprised as she held her towel to herself and stood. Apparently, this was according to Quinn, most people enjoyed dressing up just to have kinky sex. She'd told Rebeccah that when the girl had turned 10 and the girl had never forgotten.

With a shrug, Rebeccah pulled one pair of heeled sandals and walked over to the dresser again to have another, closer, look. She pulled a pair of shorts, a white long sleeved lace top and, after rummaging through the underwear drawer, a white bandeau to wear underneath. These were the most respectable bits of clothing she could find other than her own boring t-shirt, jeans and red converse.

She dried off before throwing her hair up in the towel and got dressed, hardly uncomfortable in the outfit as it was something she probably would have worn at one time or another anyway. Rebeccah gave a light sigh as she decided to put the heels on later, if she ever got to leave this place, and walked out of the room to the living room area. She was drying her hair the entire short walk.

Noticing Jake was still sitting on the couch, she stepped closer before speaking softly, " The shower's free, you know.."

Shaking his head Jake turns and looks at Rebeccah. " Oh, thanks." he says walking in to the bed room and grabbing a pair of dark blue jeans and a comfortable button up shirt. Then he walks in to the bathroom and turns on the shower.

After the quickest shower in his life Jake steps out of the shower, dries off then throws on the clothes he brought with him. Opening the door he walks in to the main room. Taking up his sitting position on the couch he says " You know your old man better than me, when do you think he'll call?"

Fi smiles at Blare, " She's fine. A little miffed at my brother but all is well." then pointing at his phone she asks " How's Carl? did her make it ok?" she was worried about the young O'Connor, he had a habit of getting himself in to trouble.

Rebeccah sighed as he got up, quickly taking Jake's spot on the couch and stretching out comfortably. She didn't bother to say you're welcome because, as she parted her lips to say the words, Jake was already up and down the hall. There'd been no point in it.

She found herself quite surprised as the male stepped into the room after what only felt like a few minutes, sitting back on the couch. The teenage girl lifted her legs and shifted her position, now sitting cross legged on the couch, as Jake plopped down. " Harsh," she muttered, shooting an only-semi joking glare at the older teen.

" You know your old man better than me, when do you think he'll call?" Jake says easily, not even bothering to look at Rebeccah. She felt her blood begin to boil as her anger rose within her but, like she'd been told, she kept good track of it as she looked over at him. " It depends on how things look," she replied, her anger starting to dim as worry replaced it. " If he thinks things are going well, a few days to a week, but if they don't look so good then maybe a couple of weeks.." She hated her own answer, even though every word was the truth.

" I'll hope for a call within the next few hours," Rebeccah mumbled under her breath, " For both of our sake's.."

The blush growing more pernounced on her cheeks and she looked away from Blare. " I'm happy I get to work with one of the best men I know." she knew that they would take the Corleans down together but she was terroifyed of loosing him. And if it came down to it, she knw she would make her clan proud by giving herself for the life of the O'Connor. It was how it had always been.

Rebecaah let herself be pulled into the hug, welcoming the comfort, at first. She hated that it had to be Jake, it had to be her bodyguard and someone, of all people, who really disliked her. She pushed him away, not angry any more but more embarrassed as she realized he'd read all the worry she was feeling. The girl stood up quickly, her movements graceful even for her speed, and stared at him. " What were you..." She trailed off, not bothering to finish speaking as she turned and walked away without another glance at Jake.

Upon entering the kitchen, Rebeccah immediately went to the fridge and opened it roughly as she looked inside with her pale eyes practically glowing with frustration. There was no way she was going through lockdown while sober. Absolutely not happening.

Anyone in her family had a tendency to drink and kept their refrigerators well-stocked, which she counted on as she looked into the cold appliance. There, on the shelf was several cans of beer as well as two mickey's, one of tequila and the other of whiskey; Jack Daniel's to be specific. They had obviously been opened and had a little gone but Rebeccah was pretty sure there'd be more, unopened, bottles in the cupboards as she pulled the whiskey out. She didn't like this particular whiskey much but preferred it over tequila anyday, much like most of her family. The teen twisted off the cap and took a long swig of the liquid, it burned her throat a little as it went down but the feeling didn't hurt her; it reassured her, calmed her.

She remained in the kitchen for a few more minutes, slamming the door of the fridge closed as she chugged as much of the alcohol as she could while leaning against the counter and her head back. In only a few minutes, Rebeccah had gulped down just over half of the bottle, leaving half left. She licked her lips as she set the bottle on the counter behind her and sighed, feeling the warmth grow inside her.

Another moment passed before she picked up the bottle and, the cap in her hand, walked back into the main room. She maneuvered her slender body around the corner and sinking into a chair, crossing her legs beneath her, all without looking at Jake even once. Sadly, the sixteen year old felt accomplished by doing this as she muttered, " Gotta love family habits, they're soo hard to break." Her eyes on the T.V, Beccah brought the mouth of the bottle to her lips and took another gulp before lowering it and setting it between her legs.

Now, she glanced at Jake out of the corner of her eye. He was attractive, she would give him that much, with his facial structure hair and eyes. It was his personality she didn't like all that much and, she'd told him that when they were really young, back when she'd first met him, though she doubted he'd remembered that long ago. She'd been three, at least, and very opinionated; never holding anything back. He'd been training to become a bodyguard for her family though, at the time, Rebeccah would have never dreamed her'd become her own.

She glared at Jake as he took the bottle, " Well, I'm not drunk yet so we're good.." Rebeccah felt like murdering him but settled for standing and walking over to sit beside him, pouting. " Please, give it back?" She asked nicely, though she wasn't that badly bothered. There was more booze in the place so she wasn't in danger of having nothing.. But the whiskey was probably the only alcohol that she'd actually put up with while still sober. After she got drunk, well, anything was fair game.

" Liam doesn't even care or he would have smacked me across the room at the house, or do you not recall." She murmured as pale eyes stared over at the male, he was obviously trying to ignore her as he kept his hand behind his back. The hand holding her whiskey. She didn't mention that he was probably so sidetracked that that was why he hadn't taken if from her.. Over-protective father of hers. She couldn't drink but he would be absolutely glowing with happiness if she picked up a gun.

After receiving no answer, she gave a sigh. " Fine, want any food?" Rebeccah stood easily, no wobbling whatsoever, and walked to the kitchen. Though there was more alcohol right there, practically at her fingertips, she didn't move to touch it. Though, after a quick look through the freezer, fridge and cupboards, she quickly realized alcohol and pizza pockets were the only items on hand.

" Um, are we surviving on water and pizza pockets then?" She asked smartly as she walked back into the living room, her eyebrow raised. " Since I'm not allowed booze, that's kind of all there is." She plopped down on the chair again, sitting sideways of course, and sighed as she stared pointedly at Jake.

" Fatty foods, water, and a babysitter... I'm dead."

At Jake's outburst, Rebeccah found herself hiding a smile as the bottle was shoved back at her in his anger. Suddenly, she didn't care what Liam had told her. She didn't care about much as she stood and, revealing her small smile, took a large gulp of the liquid. " Thank you," she said primly as she strode from the room, leaving his question unanswered. Wasn't it obvious enough?

She didn't like how he'd treated her but, thinking back on how she'd been acting all day, she deserved it and Rebeccah knew it as she walked into the bedroom, not even bothering to shove anything in front of the closed door; the only thing between her and her bodyguard. He wouldn't check on her for a while, or she was hoping anyway, but the girl was pretty certain. The window was still open, she noticed, though only a tiny bit. But that was enough to make her feel a little relaxed as she sat down on the bed and leaned back against the headboard.

I want out of here. I want out of here, now.

This was the thought that ran through her mind as, over the course of the hour, Rebecca took smaller and smaller sips of the alcohol. As each sip grew smaller she could feel her head begin to buzz. Good, it reminded her that she was still here.

The O'Connor felt a little guilty as she stood and placed the near-empty bottle on the bedside table, her eyes on the door. She knew she should apologize, say there was no excuses for her behaviour, but she couldn't make her feet move in that direction. Instead, she found herself walking over to the wall right beside the window and peeking out cautiously. Was someone out there waiting to kill them? Or, more likely her? Rebeccah shook this off as she quietly opened the window and stuck her head out and, after putting on the sandals she'd found, she sat on the window sill and slid out the window; feet first.

Once she was standing on the platform of the fire escape, Rebeccah wobbled. " Stupid heels," she muttered as she started down the metal stairs. The O'Connor probably stuck out in her clothes but hopefully as just some girl to others. A rather drunk one, she thought as she tripped and grabbed at the railing. All thoughts of the Corleon family went out the window with her as she fought to keep herself upright with her fuzzy mind as she started walking down the alley to the street.

Rebeccah turned, feeling dizzy as she did so and threw out her arm to grasp the wall. " What do you want?" She said haughtily, her ice cold eyes on the gun he held. She nodded as though this small object had answered her question which, in fact, it sort of did. " Oh, you're a Corleon and you're going to kill me," she tilted her head to the side as she blinked, trying to focus her eyes better. She'd really screwed up this time and, suddenly, she wished she'd listened to Jake and his stupid comments about the windows and staying inside.

She could feel herself tilting and cursed the heels she wore, " Aren't you going to shoot?" The sixteen year old gave a sigh as she pulled all of her long brown hair to fall straight down her back. He wouldn't miss, not being so close.
