Description

Image

Image

Name: Shadow

Age: 1059

Species: Dragon

Sexual Orientation: Straight

Relationship Status: Single

Image

Likes: Mead, Meat, Food, Sleeping, Night time, Flying, Fighting, Night time, Gold/shiny things

Dislikes: Annoying People, Arrogant People, Other creatures, Other dragons, Dawn

Personality: Shadow is a cool and calm type of character. He is friendly towards people but is always on guard despite having a small smile on his face. He likes his human form better because it helps him blend in more, and plus it's interesting to act like something he's not. He usually doesn't like to turn to his dragon form unless in battle . His body though still retains his dragon armor, so it can't be pierced with normal daggers or swords. The only time he is fierce is in battle, especially to protect something or his allies.

Image

Hair color: Black to dark brown

Eye color: Purple to red

Height: 5'11

Markings: A dragon tattoo around his left bicep.

Image

Histroy: He has always been alive, but never picked a side until recently. He worried mostly about what all dragons did, their gold hoard mainly and where to get his next snack. He was always approched by people, trying to get on his case about picking aside. Being a shadow dragon, he has control over darkness. He used Shadows from the background to support both sides until the creatures of dark turned on him. They betrayed him, by attacking him in force once they found out he helped both sides in some way. He would have died if not for the light side coming to help him. A battle broke out, and in the end he was able to escape. He was badly wounded though, but they took him in. Feeling a debt of gratitude, he agreed to fight on their side.

Being on their side, he found joy that he hadn't felt before. He started to get more involved with them, and took on a form of a human to kind of be like them. He learned sword-play, and how to use other weapons but he always enjoyed his claws the most. He felt happy there, and is willing to give his life for the people he grew to trust.

Other:
His control over darkness allows him to do the following abilities:
-Teleport
-Morph Weapons using darkness
-Blow a black color fire
-Make his claws longer
-An armored body
-Stronger at night, weaker at dawn.
-His human body is as hard as his dragon armor

Guin leaned her hands against the balcony, stretching her back to push her stomach against the cold marble as she smelled the wind. It blew past her face with a melodic sound, and smelled like burning roses in the Ashen Wastes. At that, she leaned back, putting the whole of her foot on the ground and turning towards the interior of her father's castle. She pulled at the rug-robe mixture that was hanging on her shoulders, patterned in a Tiager-style of roaming circles, and frowned.

I have a conference at some point this afternoon. And the chances of anything coming out of that are quite slim. Let's be honest, who wants to be in Mysteria at this point? There's no use... "I don't think we can actually win this war." She looked around her sheepishly, not meaning to have said that out loud, and hurried inside the castle. Warmth spread over her with the light of several candles, and Guin started to pick her way through the winding halls.

"Everything's clear here..." Was the dragon's only thought, as he soared throughout the sky. In his dragon form, he felt rushed to be in the sky and flying. He had been in his human form for to long, the dragon had almost forgot what it was like to fly. He moved his great wings, lazily, but strong enough to keep his big body in the air. His horned head turned to the right and his whole body followed suit, until he was flying back to the base. The moon shone brightly in the black sky. It always amazed him how the moon acted as if a war was never going on.

Once Shadow reached the base, he landed softly, without making any noise what so ever. His red eyes turned into a deep purple shade, and with a shudder, he felt his body shrink. His horns seemed to go back into his head, while his face shrunk and took on a more human quality. Soon, he was standing back on two legs instead of four. His black attire almost made him blend in to the night. He looked left and right, before walking towards the mead hall to get a bite to eat. Shadow pulled down his mask, to allow his face to show and let out a sigh. He would then smile at the other soldiers in greeting, like usual as he made his way down the hall. Though, he could only pause when he heard a woman's voice. Something about not winning. Turning the corner, he saw a blond head walking down. "If you say that aloud, general, you'll bring down moral." He called out.

"If you say that aloud, general, you'll bring down moral."

Guin managed not to jump, and stopped walking, feeling her heart stop for a moment. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes, before turning around. "I don't enjoy being scared, thank you," she whispered. "Is it not bad enough when a village is raided in secret, so that we may not aid?"

She smiled softly. This is not the time to charade, neither to pretend that you don't regret not helping. "Alas, my friend, what news do you bring? Or, are you here not to bring news, or for other means?" She folded her hands gently, crossing her arms against her stomach.

"Ah, Please excuse me your highness, I did not mean to startle you." Shadow responded offering a bow. He placed his left arm behind his back, and his right arm over his chest, as if to make it more dramatic then it needed to be. She whispered her comment, surely but he had heard it as if she had yelled it. Hearing the comment about the village, he merely tilted his head in responds. Surely she did not think that was her fault? He was about to comment on that, but chose not too, since that seemed to be her own thoughts that had slipped out once again.

The dragon blinked as he heard her next questions. "Nothing new to bring i'm afraid. Though there is no activity in the eastern skies." He said, as he thought back to his earlier flight. "Though I did see a few villagers celebrating. It appears a wedding was unfolding." He said with a nod. He wanted to cheer her up in his own discreet ways, perhaps good news such as this might?. He tilted his head in question for a moment. "Though I don't understand the concept of humans getting mates...it's quite strange to me. It seems like they enjoy to be tied down." He said. That was also another thing he would proabably never understand.

"Though I did see a few villagers celebrating. It appears a wedding was unfolding." Guin smiled. It was hard for her to think that people still found joy - she certainly did not, unless a cup of ale was to accompany it - but this was wonderful news to her. To see that people could still celebrate small wonders.

"Humans seem to have a...natural need for love. As if some of us cannot make a day without dreaming of the one whom they shall one day meet." Her eyes wandered for a moment, and she lifted her hands to tug at her braid. "I fear it may take a while for a dragon to understand the human way of love, as I'm certain it will take me a while to understand a dragon's way of life, will it not?" She laughed, feeling her spirits rise as if through a Creator-diverted act.

"Well, I have to admit, it is early... But I'm in need of something to eat." She smiled, embarrassed, at this. It must not be too long after I ate last... Or was it? Can I even remember? "Care to join me? I'm sure we could find something more suited to your tastes."

"I suppose it might." Shadow, giving a small nod in agreement. Humans were a mystery the dragon might never solve for at least centuries. Or a few more anyway, there was no rush for him. He couldn't help but let out a chuckle at her comment about a dragon's life. They weren't that complicated. Though, then again that was a dragon's opinion on their way of life. Though it was not that complicated. For him, he's fine with a few shiny things here and there, food, and sleep. Not very complicated, as that was his life before he had joined up with this side. "Dragons for one, never really tie themselves down. A mate once in awhile is fine, though it's only to provide offspring. That's all there is. He responded, then said "Though Princess, you are quite on the right track to understanding a dragon's life."

Shadow blinked, and gave a nod in agreement. "I was heading over to the hall to get something. I will accept your invitation." He said simply. He could tell she was embaressed for some reason. The elf was clearly showing a bit of human woman behavior. Shadow had always noticed that the male and female humans acted differently very often to situations. Yet another thing he would still need to learn about.

Shadow blinked at the comment of the ranks of soldier. A slight grimace showed up on his face at the thought of their allies not here. They were on the battle field most likely, if not lost or perhaps...in the next world. "It's...possible...though I doubt they would all show up at once...maybe a little at a time..." Shadow responded, choosing his worlds carefully. He could see the elf woman was very troubled by this thought, he could relate partially since he felt waves of griefs start to echo in his mind. Even if he didn't understand human behavior as much as her, he could easily read sadness and despair in the girl's action. After all, as a dragon, he used to feed off of such emotions. As they walked, he noticed her stop suddenly. He turned back towards the woman, shooting a questioning look at her until his sharp eyes caught her shaking ever so slightly.

"It... I won't let this happen. I will not become my father. I vow upon my ancestor's blood that I will see this war through, whether we win or not, whether I'm dead upon His feet or standing victorious."

The pain of losing allies... The joy of having them here...and the amount of guilt she must carry from soldiers dying under her watch...it must be over wheleming. After all, she maybe general but was a person as well. Emotions were very strange things...yes, dragons felt though never emotions such as sadness. Mostly rage or boredom. He walked back overto thegirl, offering a small smile as he took her fist into his hands. Such hands such as these should have never known the act as war or fighting. Perhaps if this war never happened, would she be happy as humans were? Possibly with a mate?

He uncurled her fists gently, and began to speak "Princess...in a rage of battle such as this...death is to be expected." He said softly, almost a whisper. His purple gaze locked on her hands. "Determination such as yours is highly needed. Skill in battle is needed...and of course lives are needed in this fight." he released her hand, allowing it to fall back into place at her side. "Death is something battle will always bring, regardless of you being in charge or not. Fate has dealt you a hand where you must overcome this...and I assure you...you will be the one to stand as the victor in the end." The dragon said, offering her a small comforting smile. He had the up most faith in her, as did most of the soldiers.

"Princess...in a rage of battle such as this...death is to be expected."

Don't speak to me of death.

Guin closed her eyes, let her hands relax.

"Determination such as yours is highly needed. Skill in battle is needed...and of course lives are needed in this fight."

I never asked for a dead father, for a war to be given to be at such a young age.

He let go of her hand, and she wished he would still hold it.

"Death is something battle will always bring, regardless of you being in charge or not. Fate has dealt you a hand where you must overcome this...and I assure you...you will be the one to stand as the victor in the end."

Why be so sure in someone you barely know?

She opened her eyes, and he was smiling. She sighed. "Will you forgive me, friend? It seems that such a position is more lonely than I would have ever imagined. And I cannot fathom anyone else would be more insane than I." She offered a smile in return.

He doesn't deserve to deal with me. He's earned so much more. All of these people have...

"But, please," she added quickly, "don't call me 'princess'. I am not worthy of such a name."

You are acting as if you haven't seen another soul for ages, or as if you never kissed another soul. Hands are the instrument of music. You must le... Forgive and forget, especially forget that you have never kissed a soul. Pass over it. Forget and forgive. Forget and forgive...

"A position does not mean to be alone. A position such as yours should allow you to share the burden with your cabinet such as myself." He said, pausing before then saying "You rely too much on yourself...carrying a burden such as that has made you think of being alone when in reality you are not. Rely on other people, and you may feel more...better? I suppose the right word would be." The girl was still quite young, compared to himself, as well as the other dragon. He always thought when she first became general after her father passed. He felt the need for revenge, but decided better and stick to the girl's orders. After all, she reminded him of the late general in battle. The determination was the same, and her words reminded him of the man.

"If that is what you wish. Though your name is quite the mouthful if I do say so myself. I've heard the blue dragon call you Guin, so may I call you that?" He asked, tilting his head. Shadow had assumed to call the woman princess, since she seemed like it to all the soldiers. It was quite a confusing thing, human titles. Was she perhaps being humble? Or did she actually believe herself to be inferior? Was there another cause to her behavior? He had always heard soldiers saying that woman are complicated, and he could actually start to see where they were coming from.

"My cabinet has a meeting this afternoon. Then, I will rely on them. Though - if you want me to be honest with you - my father never did." Guin pulled on the shawl again, though decidedly snatched it off of her shoulders and bundled it into her arms. "It's a wonder he ever got anything done... And that we still stand here." She shrugged slightly, curling the corner of her lip in what she could not decide was a frown or a smile.

When Shadow spoke of Ariad, she laughed. "No hesitation needed. Although, I go by many names. Guin, Sister, Lilith, a'Roihan... A hag who talks too much... Or perhaps the crazy one." She shrugged. "I quite enjoy my name, though, seeing as my mother was human and long dead, but it is quite long..."

And she was the one who taught me to sing. I remember that. She had the voice of an angel herself... My face when dad told me she was dying, I can't imagine Ariad would have thought that one priceless.

"Oh, please, forgive me. I would assume a dragon only eats when necessary, yes? So, mayhaps we should continue on..." She let the words die off. If he wished to continue

Shadow offered another small smile, and nodded. "Your father was a great man. I respected him greatly. After all, he was still felt indebted to the man, he had saved his life after all. It made Shadow regret not joining this side sooner then later. He chuckled a bit at all the names she spouted. Did the blue dragon call her all those names? He didn't know, since he never spoke to the dragon, due to the fact he avoided him. He didn't and never would like other dragons...It was just something he didn't like for some reason...maybe due to a Dark dragons loner personality? Shrugging it off, he smiled back at the girl. It seemed that her mother was a sore subject, so he decided not to push it.

"It's good to hear you laugh." He said simply, before turning back towards the hall that led to the dining area. "I'm actually quite hungry at the moment. Shadow paused, before then saying "Dragons eat what they want when they want to...though we could last weeks, and possibly months without eating anything." Shadow blinked, and looked curiously at the shawl. He gently took it from her hands and held it up so it opened fully. "...This...flimsy piece or cotton...allows you to stay warm?" He asked, as he shook it further to show it was flimsy.

Not caring who Guinevere was talking to, he was able to tell the man was another of his kind. He flew up close to her and placed his giant head upon hers. He let out a low growl at the other beast before tapping at Guin's head with his claw. He let out a series of growls. *Who's this?* He asked, eyeing Shadow suspiciously. Yes he liked to teased and bother the fuck out of Guin, but he was a protective dragon.

He swore he'd seen this dragon somewhere. He was curious about the human form though. He didn't have one, but he thought it'd be fun to have one. Though he could tell he already didn't like this one. Something about him bothered him.

Guin wondered slightly about Ariad some days. After all, a gay dragon wandering these halls was something she was not particularly fond of, especially when her friend soldiers see him. One soldier in particular, Sammael, would probably never forget the day he saw the dragon first.

"Dragons eat what they want when they want to...though we could last weeks, and possibly months without eating anything." She couldn't imagine such a thing. Not after eating a minimum of once a day. And certainly not going longer than a day. A month was something that she would never dream of, let alone last anywhere close to.

When he took her shawl, she grasped at it softly, letting it fall through her fingers in a final effort. "It... It is, yes. I never really worry about heat though... It's nice weather in Tiager, as usual. Creator shun the day when it's not." She reached out for the shawl, frowning softly.

As Ariad placed his head on hers, Guin closed her eyes with frustration. Come on. Your timing is far from perfect. As his claws hit her skull, she hissed. "That's my hair!" And he was tearing it out.

"Who's this?"

"Figure it out yourself!" she growled, dropping lower so that she could duck out from under his head, and stalked away towards the mead hall. "Shadow, if you still wish to join me, the invitation is open. My customs are outdated, but unless you wish to socialize with this," she gestured to Ariad, "then I suggest you come."

Shadow raised an eyebrow at the newcomer, allowing the elf to take back her shawl. The blue dragon had began to tap the poor girl's hair, which seemed like a stupid thing to do. Didn't he know those were sharp? He frowned slightly, as the dragon seem to be challenging him for some reason...could he sense he was a dragon as well? Shadow's purple gaze watched as the girl growled and start to walk away from the dragon. Fustration, and a bit of irritation was easily shown in her words when she gestured toward the other male dragon. He simply blinked at the newcomer, before turning his back on the dragon choosing not to say anything less his temper rises because of it.

He didn't want to socailize with other dragons. He found them a annoying, and also may be from the fact dark dragons are loners by nature. Once they are born, they are on their own as survival of the fittest law came into play with dragons. He had grown up alone, and had no help. He certainly wasn't going to change now and socailize with his kind. Shadow would rathe rgo back to his ave with his gold hoard. With that thought in mind, he caught up to the girl easily, before asking "Is your head alright?" A strange thing to ask...claws of dragons were one of the sharpest things on earth. that other dragon was a marshal, right? Did he not care about the general like one should? It surprised him greatly that she wasn't bleeding.

Guin tugged at her braid sharply. She still had a hard time believing that Ariad would ruin her hair like that. I spent so long... I woke up too early just to have it ruined! She snapped on it again, and quickly dropped a small chunk of hair that fell out. She did not wish to know whether it was by her own fault or by the dragon's claws.

"Is your head alright?"

She was slightly surprised to see that Shadow had chosen to follow her, though not entirely; some days she wondered about Ariad. "Yes, I'm sure it will be fine... If not, we'll see what happens in the morning." She gently touched around her head, trying to feel for blood.

"S-Shadow, if you don't mind me asking... Where are you from?" She wondered if he came from the Ashen Wastes, or perhaps even Wasdihr. Either would be reason enough to cut off a social tie.

Shadow peered at her head, watching the girl feel around. He tilted his head, then said "I don't see your blood...so you should be fine...though...maybe some ice would be in order." Thankfully, the other dragon didn't seem to have broken skin. Though that was quite risky, given the fact that dragons could crush human skulls easily as blowing fire. He had done enough befor eto know. He watched as the chunk of her hair fell to the ground, and didn't know whether to leave it there or give it back to the woman.

Hearing her next question, he blinked and paused for a moment. Did it really matter where he was from? He lived in all the regions before, since he liked to fly around a lot. "I was born in Tiager's forest in the upper region, and stayed there while I was young. After that I traveled to other regions while I grew older." he paused, before then adding "I avoided humans while living there...they are quite hostile towards other creatures besides themselves...though your father approached me while I was on this continent. I guess the most home I have felt is being here." He said simply as he tilted his head to think about it more. Her father had approached him to recruit him first which he declined, though did help. he helped both sides until the other side decided to try and off him. He looked at the elf, then said "May I know why you ask?"

"...though...maybe some ice would be in order." Perhaps. That seems like a nice idea. Perhaps I'll ask one of the castle sorcerers.

She was surprised to hear he was from the Ashen Wastes. But, to Guin, it explained a lot; being shunned by humans was not the funnest thing she could imagine, certainly not for a dragon, at that. To wonder why anyone would live there was one of her questions of life. In all honesty, she would not have lived there even if she was a human who hated the surreal.

Which I'm not, and quite thankful for. Bad enough that I'm half-human. Creator only knows where my elf blood came from.

"May I know why you ask?"

Guin blinked, pondered for a moment, then spoke. "I was only wondering if, perchance, your heritage would affect how you interact with other dragons. Does it?... Or is it simply how dragons wish to be?" She smiled nervously. Does he mind me asking about his heritage? He answered, but that still doesn't mean much...

Shadow offered a smile to show he didn't mind. The girl was clearly nervous about asking things such as that. He felt perfectly comfortable with anwsering, since he had nothing to hide really. He listened to the question, tilting his head a bit to think about it for a moment. It did not affect him in his opinion.

"No...It does not affect our social preferences." He started out, pausing to think for another moment. "Dragons are fairly social creatures, like a wolf or a pride. Most lives in clans, though Dark Dragons such as myself are different." He looked at the girl, smiling. Dark dragons are one of the only dragons that are solitary creatures...we are left on our own when we are born...so i guess you could say it's not that I don't want to, it's more I can't...we don't take to friendly to other dragons. It's just instinct I suppose..."He trailed off, after all he hadn't really thought about it. It just felt natural to him to dislike other dragons. "Though maybe...dark dragons such as I are not meant to exist. We come from darkness, and nothing else..." he murmured quietly to himself. Maybe that was the real reason why Dark dragons didn't get along with other dragons.

They had reached the Hall by now, and Shadow opened the door.

"Perhaps we can finish discussion while we eat? You were hungry, correct?"

The two were quite rudely interrupted as Lucius appeared in a puff of hellfire, along with the smell of brimstone and smoke, rearing up with a whinny that made the walls themselves shiver, and as he came down, reformed into his human shape with a small box wrapped with a ribbon, spreading his arms wide in goodwill.

"HAPPY TIDINGS TO ALL!" he shouted with a smile on his face, then handed Gwen the box, shaking her other hand as he did so and hugging Shadow after, without hesitation. "Can you believe that 1000 years ago TO THE DAY I married my first wife? OH, what a day that was, I can still hear the wedding bells-" he took a moment to disappear and reappear next to Gwen, leaning on her shoulder, "No, really, I have an enchanted music box with the sounds of that day, ask me about it sometime.", and puffed back over to Shadow, frowning at his choice of sleeve design(He'd been the fabulous one first, dammit!). "But away from my digressions, unicorn tradition and all state that I'm to give gifts to my enemies on this day, at least the ones still alive, and ask for a meal together as a form of peacemaking, if only for a day. Do you accept? I'd hardly hold it against you if you declined!"

There had been absolutely no changes in tone to his voice that would have placed it as a trick, he really DID want to be peaceful, at least for now. He also had his sleeves rolled up and metal bracers on his arms, so as to remove any thought of a weapon being used that day. He was there to be kind, and hoped that they would respond the same.

"Dark dragons are one of the only dragons that are solitary creatures...we are left on our own when we are born..." Guin hid a frown, hoping it wasn't as evident as she could, though she knew it would most likely be of no use; he could sense her emotions, could he not? So why would Shadow care as much as if she had hid it, or if she had not? She tried to ignore that, and listened closely again.

"Though maybe...dark dragons such as I are not meant to exist. We come from darkness, and nothing else..."

"I feel as though many of us were not meant to exist," she sighed in response. "Though, we would never know the difference, would we?" She curtseyed deeply to Shadow as he opened the door. "Thank you. I believe it will be nice to once more forget about-"

Guin felt her skin shiver softly against a bray behind her, and turned around slowly, casting a sideways glance to Shadow. As if he would know what was going on. She bit her lip impatiently when she saw that her 'good friend' Lucius arrived. And was holding a small gift, it appeared. She held it lightly as it was pushed towards her, slowly leaning closer to sniff at it, wondering what could possibly be inside that would make her want to open it.

"But away from my digressions, unicorn tradition and all state that I'm to give gifts to my enemies on this day, at least the ones still alive, and ask for a meal together as a form of peacemaking, if only for a day."

"I..." She looked back at Shadow, shrugging her shoulders softly. "I'll leave this one up to you, really. I don't think I mind too much whether he joins us or not... And he doesn't look like he'll eat our faces off at any given moment." Guin pondered for a moment, then added, "Though we'll probably have to clear the hall of any soldiers. I don't think they would take too kindly."
