Isley Iarna

"Wouldn't the sky look better if it were dyed red?"

0 · 619 views · located in The Fight Club

a character in “The Fight Club”, as played by Kuroe

Description

Name: Isley Iarna
Age: 18
Elder/Regular: Regular
Personality: Isley was born to rich parents, with four siblings, two older sisters, an older brother, and a younger sister. As such, he isn’t quite the manliest of people. He is actually somewhat odd in his mannerisms, sometimes being even rather eccentric. His love for fighting and martial arts does not come from any known source, it’s like a hobby of his. Being the fourth child of a wealthy, busy family, he was expected to be able to do a good deal by himself. He however, acts as though he has no obligations, and seems to do what he wants, when he wants all the time. At times he can, though, act annoying, or even cold to others, as he might very well politely decline to help someone being beaten to death in front of his very eyes. Not, of course, that something like that has ever happened.
Skills: Isley has learned a number of close combat martial arts like Bājíquán, in addition to teaching himself things such as Jeet Kune Do. However, not having a great amount of upper arm strength, his specialties are using numerous other ways of generating power, efficiently and quickly taking down opponents, and, most of all, kicks. Other skills include minor acrobatics.
Weaknesses: grappling, upper arm strength.
Fears: Nothing in particular. Death, dismembering, being caught by the police… The normal stuff.

Looks: Image
Crush: n/a

Isley's eyes snapped open to see the bright sun shining in his eyes. He immediately shot up into a sitting position. Where was he?! Had he randomly started sleepwalking and murdered his neughbor's poodle and... He stopped himself with a deep breath. That was impossible. His neighbors, the ones that had a dog, had a shiba inu, not a poodle. He looked around, his memory slowly coming back to him. He had fallen asleep some time previous on this bench. Funny, that. Here he was, with a large, comfortable bed and three meals a day at his home, sleeping on a bench in the middle of the city. Oh, the irony. He looked at his watch and thought.

"Yeah... I've still got time." He said to himself.

***

Isley strode into the door of the club, waving with a big grin on his face.

"Hellooo there!" He called brightly, and counted the people he knew in the room. He could see, of course, Mortus, Blaze, and that girl who had a complicated name that he could never remember. It always reminded him of the candle in Beauty and the Beast but he couldn't for the life of him bring it up in his mind.

He just ended up shrugging and making a beeline for Blaze. She had been a year below him throughout school, and he had seen her numerous times.

"Heya there buddy. What're ya doin, just sittin there?" He asked, bending over her to peer at her over his sunglasses.

Blaze was leaning against the wall with her chair, both of her hands were folded across. Gazing into the intense fight she completely ignored the upperclassmen. Not to be rude, she looked up.
"Oh, it's you." She said in a dull voice.
She took another sip of her coke and said to the upperclassmen "This match is so intense."
Her eyes were concentrated on the arena rather than the person that was right in front of her.
She pointed at one of the fighters "See the guy there wearing that red bandana? He got body slammed so hard, the floor shook!" She said with amazement.
She folded her hands across again and shook her head "Now that's what I call an interesting fight."

Isley looked up at where she was looking. Two members were grappling with each other. He didn’t know much about the fighting style. He wasn’t interested in much in watching fights, actually. But, as he hadn’t much else to do, he sat next to her, on the floor, though, and stared at the fight for a few seconds.

“It’s too long, though,” he remarked, though it was, in reality, closer to a whine. “I mean, a fight like that takes forever… Maybe they do something interesting once in a while, but a fight like this loses its momentum pretty quickly.”

He leaned back. He might fight somebody today. But if it were only practice or something, wouldn’t he not want to hurt anyone? He usually saved fighting for when he actually had a reason for it. No, that wasn’t quite right… He liked fighting seriously better. If he was in real danger, it would be that much more fun. Isley, even admitting it to himself, was not a good person. Blaze, on the other hand, (he liked her name, so he had memorized it) seemed like she always fought for a reason, not for fun. Or maybe she was always serious about it. Isley never was all that serious when he fought. IT was why he had learned the fighting styles he had. It was fun to do a corkscrew in the air while kicking somebody. Of course, he had learned to end the fight as quickly as possible, so the fun didn’t usually last that long. It wasn’t that he was addicted to fighting or something, but… Well, he probably wasn’t too different from the rest of the people in the club. His mouth curled into a small smirk at the thought. It was quite entertaining.

Mortus saw that a few of his friends had entered, and planned to go great them. He planned to do so, but was side tracked by the fight that was happening at the moment. It was getting to loud, and the tone of the crowd was not right. Mortus had been in Fight Club for way too long to know that the crowd was upset in some way. He put his glass down and pushed himself out of the chair. Those around him noticed how Mortus stood up and stepped back to give him space. When Mortus reached the fight, he witness a larger figure totally beat the other. The bigger one was new and clearly had no idea who Mortus was.

Mortus stepped into the ring around the fight as the crowd grew silent. The bigger man noticed this and stopped to look at Mortus. He snorted seeing as Mortus was not all that tall or big compared to him. "The fuck do you want, freak?"

Mortus chuckled as he adjusted his gloves. "You must be new here asshole." Mortus gave the man a hard glare. "This freak in front of you is the alpha."

"Fuck that!" the man screamed. The crowd stepped back, seeing as Mortus was a little more than pissed off. They knew this would not end well for the bigger man. On the other hand, others seemed excited to see Mortus fight. They never got to see their leader fight, and today was a special occasion for them.

Blaze got up, slammed the table then shouted "Idiot step aside from the ring what are you doing!?"
Freaking out she turned to Isley and said "Why the hell would he do that ?"
Her hot temper started to boil. She sat down and crossed here arms, and whispered "Damn it. It was just getting interesting "

The man, seeing another come to Mortus' side smirked. Mortus glanced at Raine and sighed softly. "Now Mr. Top Dog, give us something to watch..." He heard her murmur. He pushed Raine gently back and stepped forward to face the man on his own. This would be easy.
"Idiot step aside from the ring what are you doing!?" Mortus tensed hearing Blaze shout at him and grew a little frustrated. He turned to look at her, but was stopped by the man who attempted to catch Mortus off guard. Mortus easily bent himself backwards to easily avoid the punch. The man threw his fist towards Mortus' left shoulder, but Mortus simply pivoted in one move. HE grabbed the man's wrist with one hand and his upper arm with the other. Using the man's momentum, he simple thrust him over his shoulder and flipped him so he hit the ground hard.

The crowd scream as Mortus didn't even break a sweat as he threw the man to the ground. Mortus leaned over the man and said to him calmly, "I suggest you leave before I end up making you go to the hospital with broken bones."

The fight ended, Blaze wasn't shocked to see Mortus win that fight. "Typical." She said to herself.
All of these years that she's been to the fighting club, she's never seen Mortus fail once.
Looking around the room she saw a couple of familiar faces, only the faces of people who don't annoy her. She saw Lumi and Jeremy flipping through their notebooks, and Raine. Looking down next to her seat she saw Isley on the floor.
She rested one of her arms on the table, and rested her face on the other arm.
A sigh came out, "So, whose next? I want to see more fights." She demanded pounding her fist on the table.

Isley yawned. Watching fights made him tired. No, watching good fights made him tired. Not that that could have been called much of a fight, of course. Isley sighed at Blaze's reaction.

"Well, saw that one coming. By the way, is it always like this?" He asked, somewhat bored. "I mean, I come in pretty often, but I just noticed how many people are being kinda lazy and just sitting around watching."

He included himself in that of course, but he didn't practice much with people. Someone usually got hurt really quickly or he couldn't get interested enough and got hurt anyways. He knew himself to be a poor excuse for a fighter sometimes. He was never one to fight because he needed to, but often tried to put himself in positions where he would.

Put simply, he was an idiot.

"But being an idiot is kinda fun,' he finished the thought aloud. Or, maybe he had been talking to himself the entire time. He did that sometimes when his mind wandered. It was quite embarassing, really.

"Are you done talking about how much of an idiot you are?" She glared at Isley.
She turned her head towards the match leaning onto her right arm. "I guess..you could say it's always like this. But I find it entertaining."
She turned her head and asked Isley "Weren't you planning on fighting today..?"
She changed positions and crossed her arms, looking at her hands. "I haven't fought in a long time.." She said in an amazed voice.
She quickly turned towards Isley and grabbed his jacket " I haven't fought in a long time! What the hell?"

Isley blinked slowly. "What d'you... Oh." He said as the realization dawned on him. She wanted to fight? Well, it wasn't like he could say no. Her method of asking, too, was rather... Forward. Then again, this being the club and all, it was rather fitting.

"So... I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume that you grabbing me by the shirt and yelling 'what the hell?' in my face is your way of asking to fight, in which case I think I have to accept. Or is it practice fighting? I don't really know. I can't say I've seen you fight much, either." He abruptly stopped his rambling, shifting in Blaze's grip. This should be fun. Or it would be boring, but he didn't know. It depended on how long it lasted. But at least he wasn't tired now.

"Oh, yeah. If you're not about to somehow throw me by my jacket, can you put me down before we start fighting? I don't think I need to be carried to the practice area."

She still has a grip of his jacket in her hands, she pulled his face right in front of hers. They were eye to eye and she said in the clearest voice possible. "Isley, will you fight with me?" She pushed him back and let go of his jacket. She had her hands in fist form and was standing "C'mon buddy lets throw a punch or two at each other, or challenge anyone else in this room like a group fight!"

Jeremy noticed a little squabble between a girl and a guy at a nearby table. He dug through his memory of highschool and remembered them as some lower classmen before. He walked toward them and heard the last line about a group fight. "A lively person...maybe I should fight tonight." He said bluntly, by now he was standing behind the girl. "Blair? Want to fight?" He said casually like it was an everyday question. He waved at the guy, Isley, with a kind smile. "Unless you want a group fight?" In his mind he was hoping either way he could get into the ring before the guy whose milk he drank discovered it was missing. He looked around for a partner for a group battle and saw the sparkling blue eyes under a hoodie. "I'm sure Aki would fight too if you challenge her in exchange to see her face if you win."

Blaze looked down at Isley, he was laying down on the floor. "Well Isley and I accept your offer to a group fight."
She didn't even ask Isley if he wanted to participate.
Blaze has never been to a group fight before, so that's why she accepted.
Her hands were crossed and went up to Jeremy's face "Oh and by the way don't call me Blair. It's Blaze around here, and everywhere else!" She poked him in the stomach.

"For the record I don't give a damn who you choose as your partner, and whoever this "Aki" person is, I don't care about her or his identity either." She crossed her arms.
"Hey, you look familiar. Do I even know you? She asked the guy with ice blue hair.
"Oh yes I remember you, you are a model.. from that one magazine." She paused.
" I don't even understand why a pretty boy like yourself is doing here."

Isley, who had been passively watching the argument, scratched his head and looked from Blaze to Jeremy.

"Well, y'know, considering you look like a fairly normal high school girl, Blaze, most would ask you the same thing. Well, actually, I wonder why all three of us are here..." He trailed off, pondering the thought for a moment.

"Anyways, since I don't really know how you two fight... Ah, well." It seemed to be useless. They were dead set on a group fight. Isley wasn' exactly used to group fights, practice or not. This was bound to be... Interesting. Very interesting indeed.

With her arms crossed she walked up to pretty boy.
"Well pretty boy I accept your challenge." And she poked him after each word.
"Anytime, anywhere, and anyplace."
She flipped her hair and turned where Isley was sitting with her hand on her hip.
"So have you decided what you're up for?"

"You are one scary bitch, y'know that?" Isley stated bluntly. He got up and stretched. "But yeah, I'll join in. Sounds fun, huh? Haven't fought in a group before."

Isley was glad that Blaze had decided to fight with him instead of against him now. She reminded him of his grandmother. And that was a terrifying, terrifying old woman. He squinted at Blaze. She might even be cute, in most terms, if she wasn't... Well, if she wasn't scary, violent, hotheaded, and he would be quick to guess that she was clueless as well.

He yawned again, going to stand behind Blaze. "So... What's goin on exactly, again?"

"You mandrill! Don't you ever call me a scary bitch again." Giving Isley a light push. [She decided to nickname Isley mandrill.]
"Don't make me change my mind about being in your team." She said poking his chest.
"What's going on is that we're waiting for pretty boy over there to decide whose going to be on his team. Blaze addressed to Isley.
"Humph." She said with her hand on her hip.
She quickly whispered to Isley "Mandrill.. I've never been in a group fight before, I always fight solo. I'm guessing we take turns..?"

Isley looked at Blaze blankly. "I'm gonna ignore the mandrill thing here, but you don't know what to do either?" He thought about it for a moment longer.

"All right, here's the plan. One of us runs up and annoys the shit out of them by repeatedly kicking them lightly in the shins, while the other stands back and explains to them why the way they're living at the moment is wrong and how they should eat less because they're starting to get fat. Sound good?" Isley nodded. In other words, he had no idea what was going on. But still, if it looked fun, he might try. Probably. He may very well stand there and explain to them something random. It wouldn't be the first time he'd done that. It ended up with him having a bloody nose and the guy who was facing him... Well, he didn't really know what happened after he'd kicked him and the guy fell into a pile of trash cans, but it was rather entertaining.

Blaze nodded listening to Mandrill's plan.
She pounded her fist into her hand. "Got it."
A young boy came through the door. Blaze pointed at him.
"There pretty boy I have found a fighting partner for you." She said with her hand on her hip.
"Let me call him over!" She paused them continue "Hey boy!"
The boy pointed to himself wondering of she was talking to him.
"Yeah you come over here!" She demanded.
