I stood up, my head spinning. What just happened? Oh, well better do what he says. He sacres the living hell out of me. I stood up, not watching them go. I sprang up into a tree, and jumped through the branches of the trees. Following the scent of rabbit. I saw it moments later, nibbling on some grass. I licked my lips. It didn't taste as good as human but it was a meal. I sprung on it, twisting its neck with my hans. It's white fur was soft. I slipped my fangs into it a sucked, letting it's blood fill my empty stomach. When I was finished I set it down pushed some dirt over it, following the path towards the town. I stopped at a promising inn and got a cheap room. When I was inside I lied down and slept.

Aislinn nodded and took his hand. She began walking and opened her mouth to speak but decided against it and closed her mouth. Looking at the sky again Aislinn took a deep breath and finally gathered the courage to ask, "Is there any way I could repay you? You are being kind enough to escort me home so there must be something I can do..." Aislinn wasn't the type of person to accept help from someone and not repay them. So she couldn't settle with not helping Velcar in some way since he did go all this way to make sure she made it home safely.

Jonathan was shocked when he saw her at first. He had not expected to see a vampire on his first night in town. As a journalist he wanted to go straight to her and interview her immediately, but she requested a room and disappeared up the steps before he could even think to speak with her. Wondering whether or not he should go up and check on her.

After a few minutes, Jonathan slapped down some cash then went up the stairs to the room he had heard the man state. He stood before the door for a long time before knocking firmly on the door.

~*~*~*~*~

The trip to her house was rather silent until Aislinn spoke. It was an odd question, at least that is what Velcar thought. He was not use to people asking what they could do in return to his leadership, kindness, or any other form. "I'm over eight hundred years old," Velcar responded. "I don't need anything in return, Miss Aislinn."

I woke with a start. Lifting my head from the pillow. I swung my feet from around the bed and stood up heading for the door. Who would be knocking. I highly doudt it was a vampire, I didn't smell anything. I brushed my fingers quickly thorugh my hair and reached for the door handle. Before I thought of something. "Who is it?" I asked thorugh the door.

"My name is Jonathan," the fox-beast kin answered. "I'm from the Coweb Journal, I've come here for a story and I think you can help me out." He stated, his voice hip and happy. He had had a few drinks, but that did not make him drunk. Actually, due to his beast-kin he was able to drink much more than a human without even getting a buzz. It was nice, considering he really enjoyed the taste of sweet alcohol. "I'm sorry to bother you... I just was hoping you could help me out."

"Umm, alright." I said and squeaked open the door. "Come in, I guess." I said and went to light a candle to get some light in the room. What story would I be good for? I thought to myself. He had a strange scent, different then most. He wasn't exactly human I was sure of it.

Jonathan's golden hair flickered in the candle light, making him seem even more lighthearted. His blue eyes scanned the room as if he were trying to see any vampire symbols or other marks that would give her off other than the routed smell that lingered around her. He then found a table and sat himself down. "Well..." he pulled out a pad of paper and a quill with ink. "There have been a lot of incidents lately filed under animal attack, but the investigators don't actually believe them to be animal attacks. I was wondering if you had heard anything about these attacks or have any information?" he asked, his eyes now serious, gazing at her.

I sat beside, my elbows on my knees. "No, I don't." I said after a little while. I was still trying to figure out his scent. I fianlly asked. "What are you?" I said leaning back, my muscles tensed. My hair was probably know a light blue. It always turns blue in light.

Jonathan narrowed his eyes. He had not expected the woman to sense that he was not human. "More alive than you are," he stated, folding his arms over his chest and leaning back. "I'm a Beast-kin, much related to the furry foxes in the forests. And you know as well as I do that your kind is behind the murders." He stated, the happy go lucky personality fading around the edges.

I narrowed my eyes at him. Wow. I'm good at pissing people off today. "If you know what are behind the murders, why did you want to interview me?" I asked my curiosity rising, I wanted to know more about these beast kin but Im sure he wouldn't tell me anymore. "And keep in mind that my "kind" are not me.

Jonathan sighed, his body relaxing a bit. "Without interviews and more proof I can not convince anyone that your people exist." He then waved his hands and laughed. "Sorry, no offense, it is just I lost someone special to an attack so I'm not exactly... a fan." He stated then sighed again. He put the paper and quill down and stared at her. "Besides, you are one of them, a blood drinker. So you would know who is behind the murders. Or could help me find out."

I crossed my legs. Ya I could. I thought to myself. "I just got here, and I plan on leaving soon. And I would help, if I wanted to be killed." I finished looking at my hands. Scarred from fires. He kept on raising questions in me that I wanted to be answered baddly. I looked back at him, waiting for a responce.

Aislinn made a 'oh' expression and saw her house at the end of the road next to the woods. "Well if anything ever comes to mind don't hesitate to ask." Aislinn walked around her house and saw that her window was still open. Letting out a sigh of relief she turned to face Velcar and realized she still had his hand. A light blush graced her face and she looked away, "Well thank you Mr. Velcar and please just call me Aislinn. Also my door is always open to you, you're someone I wouldn't mind running into again." She quickly gave him a peck on the cheek as her thanks and grabbed the vines growing on the house. Jerking the vine to make sure it would hold her weight although she already knew it would Aislinn began to climb up the wall.

"By the human's or other's like you?" Jonathan asked, recording some of her words down in his journal real quick. He was not exactly sure what she was afraid of, considering the strength she had, then he saw the wounds on her hands. He had seen another vampire, only once before with scars going down half his body from holy water. It didn't happen often, but when the people of a town expect activities that were considered dark, those people were punished. "You're a lone vampire," Jonathan suddenly stated. "That is why you are wanting to leave right? You're in someone else's territory."

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Velcar was rather confused. He had never met a human who openly invited him into their house as she had just done. Normally, it took compelling them, or even convincing them that they were human. Before she could get too far up the vine, Velcar had her by the waist and soon they were in her room. "There, much faster, and quieter." He told her, his emerald eyes glowing in the darkness of the room. He turned to the window. "Be more careful when you are out next time. I won't always be there to help you." He warned her then he was gone, on the ground and almost in the forest by the time she could look out the window.

Leaning out the window Aislinn tried to find Velcar, "He's fast..." Spinning around Aislinn changed into some night clothes and properly cleaned her arm and bandaged the wound. Sighing Aislinn crawled into her bed and looked at the ceiling, "He's right...he won't always be there, so no counting on him Aislinn! Don't you even dare!" Chuckling to herself Aislinn was about to fall asleep till her dad opened the door. Sitting up with a huff she looked over, "Yes father?"

Her Father saw that her window was open and shook his head, "Aislinn why must you keep the window open? What if something gets in?" He knew his daughter had a wild spirit but he really wished she would settle down. She was like her mother in every way and sometimes it drove him mad. "Tomorrow night is your piano class remember that."

"Yes father..." Aislinn turned onto her side and closed her eyes once the door shut indicating that her father left. "I wonder if her knows why my classes are at night...he can be so blind sometimes."

"Ya." I stated. "And I most likely willd die tommorow night." I started with the story of Velcar and Aislinn, on how he controlled me somehow. I covered my hands real quick, hoping he didn't see the markings. Well, I was hungry weak and probably gonna die tommorow so what the hell. Might as well tell someone.

"So there is a vampire out there that has enough power to control his own kind?" Jonathan stared at her as if he could not believe what he was hearing. He had heard that master vampires were very good at keeping their clan in hiding and under control, but actually controling them had never occured to him before. He took in a deep breath and wrote some of it down. "How about I go with you then? I need a good story, and if you are to go back and fear that you may be killed then maybe I can be of some help." He stated, not sure if it would help or hurt.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Velcar had stopped in the woods, not far from the house, but far enough to be out of sight. He didn't know what came over him as he turned back to see a man close the window. For some reason he wanted to go back, to see more of this human that did not fear him or his power. Instead, he tried to push her out of his head and then started toward the little church on the edge of town. THe twins were there fighting over a new woman, but she was already willing to feed them both. He shook his head.

"You got someone willing, yet you two still can't share?" he asked, stepping up to the two of them with disappointment all over his face.

I nodded. Not sure what I was agreeing to. "Maybe you should come but-" I started not sure how to word. "Maybe you should stay out of sight." I finished not sure how Velcar would react to me bringing along a friend. "And if he attacked would you help me fight back?" I asked looking at his face. My stomach felt like it was falling to the floor. What if I died. Or re-died tommorow night? I suddenly remmebered the horrible chills that went through my body as the vampire sunk his fangs into my neck. I had felt terribly ill but then I felt, nothing.

Jonathan stared at her for a minute. Then he nodded. "I'm not the greatest fighter, but I'm not useless either. I'll help you. Otherwise I would not have suggested coming out with ya." he thought about it a moment. "Do you really think this vampire is going to kill you tomorrow night?" He asked, somewhat confused. Why would a vampire kill her for just passing through? He took in a deep breath and sighed.

Aislinn felt the room getting warmer and threw the covers off of her. Standing up she walked over to the window and opened it again, "He's so paranoid sometimes." Walking back over to her bed Aislinn settled under the covers and sighed, "The weather has been hot lately anyway." Rolling onto her side facing the window Aislinn looked at the moon shining through her window.

"I don't know." I replied simply. "Vampires can be very terratorial." I finished and stood up to stretch. Tommorow was going to be a very long day. "Do you have a place to sleep, I can lay you down a mat if you don't." I said and relit another candle, the other starting to dim away. I quickly slid on some gloves to cover my hands and turned back towards him. I was surprised. Usually by know if i'm in a room with someone my stomach rumbles, but know it didn't evan grumble.

Jonathan quickly shook his head. "I've got a room, paid in by my boss" He stated, then stood up and put his stuff away. "I will see you tomorrow night." he told her, moving out of her room and shutting the door firmly behind him. Normally, he was good around vampires, but he had never heard that they were territorial before and it kinda worried him. Though in fact he was actually happy that he was able to help this girl who seemed to be a lone rider with a nasty fate.

He looked over his notes as he walked down the hall to his own room and then readied himself for bed. It was late in the night, and he realized that it was way to early for a vampire to go to sleep. Even though he thought she would not hurt him, he locked the door to his room, and then headed to bed. Soon the sun would be up and everything would be safe, until the moon came back.

Night began to fade into early morning, and within a few hours the sun was starting to poke up over the mists of October. The sun played with the mist making different vibrant colors that dazzled the woods and making it breath taking. The reds and pinks blended in with bright oranges, which danced over the yellow, red, and green leaves of the dying trees. Everything was just perfect, and soon day was well on its way, keeping all the nasty critters of the night out of sight.

Aislinn's eyes fluttered open and she sat up. Stretching Aislinn threw the covers off and walked over to her closet. Grabbing some clothes she walked into her own bathroom, and started the water letting it warm up. Taking off her pj's Aislinn stepped into the shower and proceeded to wash her hair and body. Once she finished Aislinn dried off and put on her new outfit and went downstairs to get some breakfast. Knowing her father was already gone she settled for toast and some juice. After she finished eating Aislinn went to her studio and began playing the piano practicing for her lesson tonight.

I locked my door and headed back to the bed. I was extremly tired and I flew my shutters close so I didn't see the sun. Then I went to rest my head sleep didn't come easy, in fact I barely slept at all. I closed my eyes and finally drifted off into a night mare. It was of Velcar and Johnathon and that girl Aislinn. I woke in a cold sweat and went back to bed, hoping it wasn't night yet.

Once the sunlight entered his room, Jonathan woke more relaxed than he had been all night. He was worried about the night to come though, helping a vampire stand up against other vampires was not one of the smartest things to do, but he had reason to believe that he was needed in this. Soon the world would understand what vampires and his own beast-kin were, and he would rather them understand instead of brand them off as witches and see them all burn.

He readied himself for the day. It was easy, a shower, a fresh set of clothes, some breakfast, and soon he was out in the town looking around to see what was going on. He studied the people and wrote down his thoughts as he went. Then he heard something faint, not too far from him that sounded like a piano, and a good piano at that. Being someone who once believed in music, he was drawn to the place and room with a young woman with vibrant red hair playing the paino. He sat himself down and began to write her position, her glossy beauty, and everything else about her that would be good for a character in a novel, or even in a paper. He wondered if she was part of the supernatural, or had any contact with them, but until she was done, he stayed still.
