Description

Name:
Alfonse Crossing

Age:
26 years old

Role:
Lord

What Kingdom Do They Live In?
The Autumn Kingdom

Personality:
Alfonse is and always will be a family person. Despite the small rift between his mother and himself he'd do anything in his power to keep her safe. With that being said, it must be known that he has a very loyal heart and can be trusted with anyones life. Though thought to be slightly rude and somewhat insensitive his only problem, if at all, would be being too blunt. Alfonse doesnt feel the need to sugarcoat or censor things; its black, white or gray, theres no need to color it any other way. Polite yet distant he's very much the gentleman his fathers raised him to be, though a bit rough around the edges.

Likes:
Having A Plan
His Family
Gathering Information
Having Something To Do

Dislikes:
Silence
People Threatening What He Considers His
Clingy Women
Losing

Fears:
Alfonse only has one true fear and that is failing his family. Other than that everything else doesnt matter.

Powers:
Alfonse has the control of wind, much like many people of the Autumn Kingdom.

Other Talents:
Top Scholar
Skilled at Spying (Though this is a talent kept from most)
Inventing and Repairing

History:
Son of Lord Maximilian Crossing III and Lady Deborah Baron Crossing, Alfonse was raised in the high limelight of society. Despite the families high status and rich standings, Alfonse wasnt "snobby" or brought up spoiled. Quite the oposite, his father instilled in him a sense of humble bearings and lessons. Taught from the start that he wouldnt have it easy, Alfonse grew up hard-working and just like any other working class male would. Though his mother dissaproved of him getting "down and dirty" thats exactly what he did.

At the age of 11, he was blindsided by the fact that he had a sibling... a sister that had, until then, only been a rumor. There was a slight dislike at first. Alfonse didnt like the fact that the small girl created an even bigger space between his parents. In his eyes she was the cause of their households problem. Later though, he grew to understand that there was never really any love between his mother and father; only affection for one another as one would love a dear friend. He grew out of his dislike of her and soon became as protective of her as he was of the rest of his family. Though he knew his mother couldnt quite stand Ember, he made a point of making it clear that she was, despite what everyone said, his sister and blood sibling.

Growing up he was required to study and learn his fathers trade and a fair bit of other useful skills. Fighting wasnt really something he'd ever made a point to master but he knew enough to survive. He came to know people that most of society wouldnt dream of speaking to and was greeted into the "underground". Though not illegal, the activities were kept secret.

Much like most days Ember awoke to the sounds of birds chirping and falling leaves. She'd slept late again. She hadnt really planned to stay up all night working on her latest painting but like most times she'd stayed up past the time the moon centered the night sky. With a yawn and shrug she sat up and began to dress to go down to the market. She was running low on food... again. It was only a few days ago that Alfonse had warned her of it but she'd been so caught up on things to do that she'd forgotten about it till now. Her hand paused at the door handle as she thought of her brother. Would he drop by today? He never warned her when he'd come visit her. He barged into her home as if he lived here on a daily basis and left only when the sun was almost gone. With a small smirk she thought to herself, He'd probably live here too if his mother wouldn't have a heart attack about it. Chuckling, she stepped out, locked the door and walked the familiar forest path to the bustling streets of the market. It took her a while to get to "civilization" but Ember didnt mind the walk much. As per usual, people stopped, stared and skirted around her as if she carried a disease that was contagious. And as was her usual she ignored it, straightened her posture in a rigid form and kept up a mask of complete indifference and no emotions. It was easier to deal with it this way than confrontation.

Having bought food and a few other simple things she made her way back home with more ease. Nothing bad usually happened but sometimes people werent the most welcoming towards her. A commotion up ahead caught her eye and she slowed slightly. There werent all that many people that it was apparently obvious but the few that were huddled near each other and pointed towards an even more smaller group only a few steps or so away from them. As she neared closer she finally discerned who the smaller group consisted of and why the people pointed and whispered. The Queen of Autumn herself stood before them, her guard at her side and a small child of maybe 12 or 13. Ember sighed and rolled her eyes at the small crowd of onlookers. Once she was just behind them she gathered up her composure and said in a frosty tone, "You'd think people would have better things to do and mind their own bloody business."

The gathering of people, 7 or so that she'd counted, jumped and swirled around at her voice. Upon seeing her they glared and dispersed faster than she could count to ten. Satisfied, she gave the royal company a last glance before pulling up the hood of her cloak and continuing her way home. There werent many times she'd seen the Queen, only a handful of times had she seen the young woman in passing and not even for long periods of times. She was glad a guard accompanied her, though she knew nobody in the castle would be quite dumb enough not to place a careful eye to their Queen. Her subjects may be loyal but there did exist questionable people in the Kingdom and those outside that always seem to slip in unnoticed seeking her harm. With a sigh, Ember shook her head knowning she wouldnt be able to survive a day in the Queens shoes. And now there was talk of war! No, Ember had enough on her plate to ever switch with someones life. Finally in front of her doorstep she opened up the door to her home and almost dropped her basket of goodies at the sight of her brother in her living room.

A
Alfonse almost laughed at the look of alarm on his sisters face upon seeing him inside her home. No matter how many times Ember locked up her home she could never figure out how Alfonse made it in or out for that matter. Stifling that urge, he stood from his preferred seat and walked over to his sister. Finally composing herself she glared at him with irritation rather than real anger. Alfonse could detect the slightest bit of admiration but that was gone as quickly as it had appeared. "When will you learn to send over a calling card or warn someone that you're coming over? And how, for Autumns sake, did you even get in?" she grumbled at him as she made her way to the kitchen. He followed close behind her allowing a small noise of amusement to escape his lips and watched as she placed her goodies in their designated spot. His sister, such an orderly and odd creature she was but he didnt mind that at all. As always he ignored her questions and smiled at her boyishly. "Do I get to have my pick of dinner today since you've restocked?" he asked.

"I'm serious Alfonse... What if its not you next time? If you can get in without a hitch wont it be just as easy for anyone else to get in?" she asked him.

His mood darkened at the thought but he perked right up. "No. Not everyone is as amazing as me. Dont worry, I'll get you a dog if you're that worried." he said, knowing he'd won this time. He watched as his sister slowed in her actions and her face struggled to stay neutral. Soon enough though a small tentative smile stretched her lips. "A doggy? Really?" He smiled and nodded. He could practically see her vibrating with excitement at the thought. His sister turned toward the goodies and looked at him over her shoulder, with a grin she asked, "Hows strawberry pie sound like?" Alfonse threw his head back and laughed at her quick change of mood and replied, "Sounds like a plan."

"So, the Fall Harvest is soon..." he spoke up and watched his sister stiffened with a sigh. He knew it was a vain attempt to get her to go but he had to try. She hadn't gone to any of the celebrations since she was younger. There was an incident that happened long ago; she hadn't said anything about it so he wasnt sure how bad it went but he was sure it must have been terrible if she hadn't gone to one since then. Ember looked at him before clearing the table. Over her shoulder she told him, "There's also talk of war. Its not been affirmed yet but with the security they've been setting up its got to be at least partially true. If thats the case, there might not even be a Fall Harvest."

His sister sounded delighted at the possibility of the celebration being pushed back but he smirked and replied, "Not a chance. The Autumn Kingdom is known for its celebrations. Theres no way they'd postpone it or cancel it. If anything they'll just tighten the security to make sure the citizens are safe." He heard her huff and chuckled before standing up. "Alright, I'm off. Its getting late and mother wants me to drop by to help her pick out something for father." he said. Kissing her forehead he smiled down at her and headed out. "Make sure to lock yourself in. See you later, Emmy." With that, he stepped out and started his trek back home.

Ember sighed, exhausted out of her socks. She changed quickly into a pair of mens trousers and a rather large white blouse. The clothing was a bit daring and frowned upon on a young woman such as herself but she was in the middle of the forest. No one was around to judge her. She smiled at the thought. Her step-mother intended to isolate her with the cottages remote location but she has no idea that Ember loved it. No one here to care that she was a bastard or the fact that she didnt act like a high society lady. She absolutely loved it. Stepping out of her cottage she breathed in the scent of the forest. A bubble of laughter escaped her lips and she twirled carelessly around, never straying too far from her small home even though she knew this forest like it was the back of her hand. The war didnt exist in that moment... harsh whispers didnt follow her and rocks werent thrown at her. She was, at least in that moment, full of bliss.

INgrid ran around, trying to gather more and more people.
"Come on! We have to put out the fire!" She cried, motioning for more people to run to the forest. She grabbed a bucket of water.
"Every, try to make a path that they can run through so they can get out!" Ingrid yelled. She went back to the villages and waved her arms around.
"C'mon! A bunch of people are stuck there! A man walked out of a house to see what was happening. He looked familiar. He looked like Ember in a way. She didn't know why, but he did.
"Help us! There's a fire in the forest!" She cried out.

Heava looked over the fire, and what her eyes laid upon would make her gasp and turn to the Queens. "Wait! Look..." She pointed over the fire, where groups of people came rushing with buckets, pots and some even with boxes of water to help put out the fire. She heard her sister call out for them to try to make a path. Heava watched as they all poored the water in almost the eact same place, starting to create a pathway through the fire. Amazed, she let her hand fall once she knew she'd got their attention.

Alfonse had dropped in on his mother and had left that particular meeting with a sour taste in his mouth. He didn't know why it was that his mother disliked Ember but Alfonse wouldnt just stand around while mother cursed her name to the four winds. He sighed and rubbed his forehead. His mother had already retreated to her room and father was probably out on a business trip. He passed maids as he walked down the main hallway and watched as they eyed him in a light that was familiar to him. He was, after all, unmarried and a lord. Thats all they really cared about. His status and title... it didnt hurt of course that he wasnt bad looking. Still, when and if Alfonse married it would be to a lady that truly cared for him as he would for her. Exiting the house he watched in puzzlement as people scrambled on the roads and headed toward the forest in panic. A figure caught his eye, up in a tree. She was yelling for help, saying that the forest was on fire...

The forest! Alfonse's eyes widened at the thought. Ember lived in the forest, she could be stuck in there. With quick work he made his way to where the fire started and looked at it closely. A ring. It formed a ring. It seemed odd to Alfonse that it stayed in a perfect circle. Fire burns through everything, hungry to feed on anything around it. This fire was caused on purpose. It angered him to know someone would intentionally do this. In a forest no less! He could make out the figures of a few people in the middle but couldnt discern who they were. Still, Alfonse would help if he could. Arms stretched out at first and then a slow precise fluid movement of his arms kicked up a bit of air to push the forest dirt at the fires base. Water did well with a few fires but so did dirt and it was all he could do at the moment to help. Soon theyd all created a path and to his shock and amazement His sister, the Royal Queens and one other girl stumbled out. He was quick to march over and crush Ember in a hug. "What in blazing winds are you doing here?!" he asked her. She looked up at him in surprise. "Alfonse, what are you doing here?"

"I should be asking you that young lady!" he said annoyed.

"Im perfectly capable of taking care of myself. I'm fine." Ember replied tartly, glaring up him. He glared right back.

Ingrid took a huge breath. She was grateful that everyone was all right. She walked over to Ember, who was talking with someone else. He looked a lot like her, she figured it was probably her brother or something.
"Hey Ember. You alright?" She asked, wiping sweat from her forehead.

Fawn sighed. She was glad everything was basically over, and glad that they had gotten out alive. Everyone was there, even Alexander. She walked over to him.

Heava looked around shyly, unsure of who to talk to as Innie seemed to be busy. Shrugging she began on her way to her younger sister to tell her she'd be going home and Ingrid was welcome to join her when she suddenly tripped over what she first though was something but turned out to be someone. After her little stumble, she stood back up, brushed the dirt from her gown and looked to where she'd fallen. It was Queen Senerity. "Oh, I'm so so so sorry! i didn't see you, are you OK? I' so sorry..!" She panicked, staring the the Queen with wide eyes,

Kiah made a small grumble at the attention. She never liked being in the center of attention, though she was grateful. She popped her hood back on, and weaved through the crowd, thankfully unnoticed of to who she was. She was sure when she got back, Maryann would keep her up with complaints...

mber broke her glare stand off with her brother to reply to Ingrid. "Yes, Im alright thank you. Are you alright? I couldn't really see you in the mess of things."

Feeling ignored Alfonse coughed loudly, causing his sister to roll her eyes in annoyance. With a forced smile she introduced her brother to Ingrid. "How rude of me, I ALMOST forgot. This is my brother, Lord Alfonse Crossing. Brother this is..." She trailed off and frowned. "You know, I never got your name... Queen Fawn called you Ingrid... Would that be it?"

Heava looked to the Queen in shock, not expecting to be snapped at like that. Muttering a quiet goodbye she turned and had taken only two steps towards her sister when she noticed Innie already approaching her. "Hey Innie! I was just going to come talk to you." She greeted happily. Heava had noticed the two her sister was talking to earlier but hadn't a clue who they were and because of that she was glad she didn't have to go over and embarrass herself somehow - like she always managed to do.

"Hello." the siblings responded simultaneously. They both smiled at each other before aiming that smile towards Heava. "Its nice to meet you." Alfonse said then and was followed by his sisters reply, "Yes, very nice to meet you." Ember was actually quite pleasantly surprised with having made new... Friends? Acquaintances? She wasn't sure what to call them... She was glad. She'd never socialized like this before but she feared that they'd shun her if they found out about her upbringing. "I... I must return home. I do hope you're alright and that we meet again." She said and made her way home before her brother or the sisters could reply. Alfonse stared after his sister in confusion and a bit irritation. What had gotten into her lately... "I beg your apologies for my sisters rather... rushed goodbye. I do hope you'll keep treating her well, yes?" He asked with a slight hint of pleading that transmitted through his eyes.

Heava looked up as Ember rushed a goodbye and quickly headed away. Confused, she looked to Alfonse but soon looked away again. "Of course, she seems a lovely girl..." Heava answered for Ingrid as well as herself. She'd no idea why the girl ran off but she knew nothing of it and so it would be treated as though it never happened to her. Alfonse smiled gratefully. "Thank you... She didn't have many friends..." He didnt bother telling her the truth: that Alfonse was the only person that seemed to be her friend and a rather weird tabby cat that shows up at her place when it feels like it. He nodded an acknowledgment towards Ingrid and watched her go off. He smiled at Heava. "Nice sibling you have there. I'm sure your parents are both very proud of you two." He said.

Heava gulped as he mentioned her parents, unsure of how to respond. She looked over to her sister, who'd suddenly stopped. She realised that the memories must be beginning to return. Watching her beloved little sister walk away with the shake of her head, the tears began to pool in her eyes. Heava then looked back to him, trying to blink the tears from her eyes. "Uhmm... Yes, I am. Our parents-" She paused then, looking down to the floor as a single traitor tear traveled slowly down her cheek. She didn't dare continue, and instead tried to make herself appear as though nothing were wrong.
